I came here before the pandemic lots of times. The Mac and Cheese WAS amazing, today its tastes like water down milk. The waitress today wasnt attentive and kept apologizing to us for not paying attention to us. We really wanted to chill and grab some great food but our waitress definitely made our Friday dry out. Please make sure your waitress care welled trained in engagement with each table. This was such a great spot and after today I will choice to go somewhere else after this experience
The service is unacceptable. They have no consideration of good customer service or getting a customer’s order correctly. Whoever prepared this order clearly couldn’t read or didn’t care! It appears that this mistake was made purposely as there were onions and pickles on top of the cheese and underneath. They also placed some on the side. People do have food allergies. It was audibly made clear that’s is not a concern for them at this restaurant. This order is now Trash!!!
The food was good and the servers are always nice. But the security guard must’ve been feeling himself the night I was there because he was super rude it was honestly so uncalled for like calm down dude. Apart from asking for I.D along with vaccine card just to enter the restaurant made me wait outside and when I departed the restaurant I said good night and he said nothing back just rude it makes for terrible experience as he is who you see first and last during the dinning experience. Super replaceable… just saying.
Great local spot for drinks, better than good bar food, fantastic service, and TVs galore.Relatively young crowd but bring your ID. You will not get past Wayne the bouncer, without it.This is one of few places in the area that serves late night food. The entire place is a well oiled machine. My only complaint is that none of the high top tables have backs. I dont have an issue with my back but it is certainly less comfortable to sit in a backless chair. Also, I was with a friend who does have back problems. There just happened to have been a pregnant woman who had just left. She needed a chair with a back so we were able to slide into that one. I suppose there must be some sort of reasoning why you dont have chairs with backs. Im just saying its an issue
When I say the food was good it is rare bar food is generally good and not just greasy. The nachos with brisket was delicious with all the added goodness of jalapeños and a ton of cheese. Surprisingly the jerk chicken bites was authentically slightly grilled with a bit of of kick. The blue hawaiian tasted like pure syrup but our waiter was kind and attentive. Definitely going back to eat there it can get a bit busy depending on the day and time.
Ive never been at a place that makes you show ID before entering- there is also food there. Ask for ID if I order a drink. Its just weird... Speaking of food its hit or miss. Sometimes its flavorful and others its extremely bland which is disappointing because its pricey (31 for nachos that were pretty small and a whiskey drink). Went for trivia night that was cool. The stools/chairs/tables feel like theyre meant for a kidergartener- way too low to the ground. Free parking upstairs. Ive been to better bars. Ill go back to hang with friends again but its definitely not my first choice in bars/restaurants.
Used to be a nice place for coworkers to come together for drinks and appetizers after a long week. Went recently and the food came out on time. Our table was a little close to some cars, but with the pandemic we took what we could get. It took a bit for our table to get cleared off, but our server was kind. Will return again some day.
Placed an order for pick-up. When I arrived I gave them my name, but they were having trouble locating it, even though I had received a text saying it was ready. 5-10 minutes later they said they had accidentally given my order to a delivery driver, but they were rushing a new order and it would be out in 10 minutes.Annoying, but these things happen. Fine. Well, 30 minutes later, and 45 minutes total since I first arrived, my order finally comes out. Its handed to me with a mild Were really sorry. I said Thats it?. I wasnt offered money off my bill, or to sit and have a drink while I waited, or any kind of gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience that was completely their fault. Instead I was left to stand outside for 45 minutes to wait for my food. When I pointed this out, the young woman who gave me my food said Well Im not the manager. My manager is inside if you want to talk to him. I told her I wasnt wasting any more time, and that your manager should have been made aware of the situation and come outside and talked to me.Its a shame. The food is good, but the service is TERRIBLE.
$14 dollars for 4 dry tender with no fries. There must be a mistake. I was reluctant to order because it didn’t say fries next to it but I figured oh maybe there is a problem with the menu maybe just a typo. But seriously? $14 for these 4 tenders that were over cooked I’m very disappointed. I gave 2 stars because I ordered from here before and everything was great but this time I felt cheated out of money.
The ambiance of the place is sooo laid back and chill, with screen t.v.s every few feet, so you catch a game. But the service is Top Notch!!! The Tai wings were scrumptious and the Bronx Bomber Sliders were great! Prices are VERY reasonable. Excellent after work place to gather or even bring your significant other for a laid back evening out. Youll enjoy the experience.
This place is over rated. We go here because of the hype but my last three dining experiences have been so “blah” like why are my wings burnt and barely sauced, the fish tacos are dry, no sauce to top it off, just tasteless battered fish and some pico de gallo. I want to know what everyone else brags about so I can get a better understanding…
Came here to try the wings! Although I still don’t understand the double cooked thing they were still good! The sauces were a tad lackluster. The garlic parm fries were to die for! I’m not usually a beer drinker but they had some ciders on tap that I enjoyed. I will come back to try different things the menu has to offer.they also give delicious freshly popped popcorn while you wait for your food.Foodie IG: alexandra_andco
Always been my go to place after work to grab food and drinks and they never disappoint. I loved their drinks, food and ambiance and the staff are always kind and polite. I didn’t like their friend mac and cheese bites; it tasted bland and dry and the marinara sauce that comes with it doesn’t justify that their deep fried mac and cheese tastes bland, would recommend to add garlic parmesan sauce to it but don’t make it too salty as well. However, their truffle fries, tacos, mango habanero wings, drinks, burgers and sandwiches are to die for. It helps that their staff is really accommodating and friendly. I love this place. It’s pretty chill. On Sundays, they always have a brunch thing going on and the food on their brunch menu is also worth it to try. Would just suggest to modify the mac and cheese but other than that, it’s amazing and would highly recommend.
I love this spot! Great craft beer, food, and service. A definite must! I love that their digital beer menu tells you what they have and how much of it. You dont have to be at the place to know either because you can go online to find out as well!UPDATE: I just caught that its almost $20 for a chicken salad. Theyre bugging for that price. Especially when its iceberg lettuce. I downgraded my star one level. Fix that salad price. That lettuce is not >$10
One of the best places in the Bronx to grab a drink. Love coming here with friends to get a quick bite as well, wings & burgers are amazing. (4 stars)Edit (2022): Tried this spot for one last time yesterday. Always loved this place, and their food/drinks. However, the bartender working on June 25th, around 9pm was very rude and unprofessional. She replied back with very snarky and rude remarks; I asked nicely to remake the drink for me and my date, customer satisfaction should always be priority. She made us feel VERY uncomfortable, so we left hungry and unsatisfied. I don’t want someone who looks miserable to make my margarita, this unfortunately will be my last time coming here for sure. Definitely a decline in customer service and friendly FOH staff.(3 stars)
We got here it was a 20 min wait but we were seated in less which was great. It was all down hill from there it took forever to get the drinks we ordered the cocktails were not good at all better off going draft beer which there are definitely a lot of those I believe maybe 100 different beers. We placed an order for a burger with old bay fries and wings sampler which is 18 wings with a selection of sauces I think 5 or six, so we chose 3 different ones. The food took almost an hour to arrive and the wings were very under cooked the bone and meat were still pink when we bit in, they removed that from the bill and the burger was tasteless I dont know if this was an off day but we wont be coming here again. Our sever was very nice and apologetic I wouldve given him a shout out but unfortunately I cant recall his name.
The food is decent but the service has been consistently disappointing and disorganized. If youre ordering online you may want to think again. The last time I ordered here, several weeks ago, my order was missing an item. With my latest order, I called ahead to make sure this wouldnt happen again. And it still did. The same item was missing from the order again. When I called the restaurant, they gave me advice on how to try and cancel my order, because as the person on the phone said, someone else that day had the same problem amd had to go through the same process. It seemed normal that the restaurant messes up orders or doesn’t take the time to review them before they go out. Especially when it seems like all you need to do is check the receipt and the items in the bag. Over it.
Awesome place for drinks, obviously beers & ales. Also sandwiches are extremely well prepared & delish💜💜💜Most likely, the best ale house in the Bronx. And they also expanded, to have a game room. Perfect addition E=mc beer+funHowever, they also need chess tables.Because the World Championship will be in 2018 London,in November . And it will be historical. 🍺🍺🍺🌟🌟🌟Do Like👍👍👍Cheers🍻🍺🍺🍺Love the Beer
First place I have dined indoors since the pandemic and I must say they made me feel safe! Spacious dining area, all protocols were being followed to the letter! ( temperature and skip trace) so I was immediately satisfied with that. Now, lets get to why we are here... the Food! I had the wings 1/2 Thai chili and 1/2 Pineapple teriyaki and both flavors didnt disappoint. The wings were fried perfect with a nice crunch on the outside and still juicy after the bite. My boy had a burger and raved about it! He washed that down with their top shelf Margherita which he said was on point. I washed my wings back with Bulleit Rye (Them having the Rye git them the 5th star😆). The staff was very attentive and professional. Definitely a gem in the Riverdale area of the BX!
Finally got around to trying the food from this place, and i can honestly say it was disappointing. All the food is cooked well: the fried mac n cheese is crispy outside, and full of stretchy cheese inside. The tater tots were equally crispy. The turkey burger and impossible burger were a good temp too.But...all the food, save for the truffle tots, was incredibly bland. It all lacked seasoning. Please, Bronx Alehouse, if you see this, please start seasoning your food. And i dont just mean salt and pepper: throw some paprika and cumin on your turkey burger. Sprinkle some Dan-Os on your impossible patties, do something.
Well, my friends & I were celebrating my birthday & another friends birthday. We had Ondey as our server and he was so attentive & friendly, a very lovely person. Our food was excellent. My chilli & tortilla chips, fried mac ~n~ cheese were absolutely delicious. The drinks were great too! We had a wonderful time at Bronx Ale House. Thank you!
Always a Bronx must. Just tried their new On the Bayou cocktail and must say has a great combination of spicy and sweet with hint of mint. I would have given it 5 stars but I miss the maple bourbon bacon. If it comes back I will come back to change this review. Its a beer hall not a east side brunch spot, no one needs avocado toast more than bacon. At least bring it back on make a maple bourbon bacon burger and we may be able to talk. The atmosphere is still great for what it is even if it did lose some local aesthetics that made it feel homey. It wont stop me from coming back but I hope you listen to your neighborhood and keep some of the good stuff.(Edit)Changed the rating since they brought back the bacon.
The food is always great. One of the few places that has specialty beers. It can be kid friendly, but I will call you in advance checking to see see what the venue or event is going on. Brunch I must say there is always really good. During any time of the week always suggest the wings sampler. Would never be disappointed.
Everytime i come here i have a blast, the people here are chill, the popcorn they auto give are pretty good. The food has always made me a happy person. CONGRATS on expanding the size of the place! Yall deserve it!!Its really cool how the beers are listed on a tv with live updates as to how much is left, the alc %, and where its from.they also have trivia nightsand two arcade games
I wish I had a bigger stomach so I can eat all the food from here, all of it. If you’re looking for a place to satisfy your salty gastronomic desires, then this is the place. The Gorgonzola burger with old bay fries should be illegal they’re so good. Buffalo sliders totally hit the spot when you’re not in the mood to pick at some wings. Definitely my new favorite go to spot. Thank you Bronx Alehouse.
They have typical bar food, but also a little forward leaning gastro pub style items on their brunch menu. I had the smoked brisket hash and thought the brisket was more like steak than brisket. The potatoes were also more like home fries than hash. Beer selection is good and they have a keg monitor that displays how full each keg is like George Keeleys on the upper west side. They also provided our table with popcorn to snack on while we looked at our menus.About 2.5 months ago, according to the hostess, they also added more adjacent space to the West they didnt have before.
Great place to meet up with friends for happy hour or for a relaxed date night. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to helping you find a beverage on tap that you might like; the food is consistent and reliable; and the crowd is energetic without being rowdy. I am so glad they brought back their veggie burger!
Bronx alehouse never disappoints! From security/host to the bar and servers, the service is phenomenal! I always go with my family including my 1 year old son and words cannot express how friendly and accommodating everyone is each visit. also, the food is just as great as the service.
Love that this place is just a quick walk from my house because it is SO GOOD. The staff is fantastic, knowledgeable about the beers, and really friendly. The food is great and I love that they have so much outdoor seating. Its been our go-to post lockdown and a perfect neighborhood spot. Its nice to be able to drop in after going to the park.
One of my favorite places in Kingsbridge. Food is always delicious and brews are always fresh. I love how the food menu is always changing and the kegs are always different yet they still have the popular items available. My suggestion is the cheddar bacon burger or the scotch bonnet sliders or the chicken sandwiches, seriously you cant go wrong on any item. Even the salads are amazing (I recommend the house dressing!) The reason I give this place 4 out of 5 is because the place has become too busy. They expanded greatly in size yet its still hard to get a seat in the main bar area. I suggest going mid week during happy hour as weekends will be nuts!
Had one of the worst experiences tonight with the Bronx Alehouse “security” or who ever he’s referred as. I was going in to place a takeout order as I was unaware of the takeout window. He was rude the minute I attempted to walk in had no manners and classless. As I walked to the takeout window I told him he had a nasty attitude and he proceeded to say “YOUR MOTHER IS NASTY””FUCK YOU”. He then insisted on explaining himself to every employee who cameTo the door. Must have been the guilt. So unfortunate because the food is great! I usually order out and have had the pleasure of dining in a few times and have never encounter this individual or probably never even noticed him. He insisted he’s been there for years which made it worse because you’d think he’d have learned some manners by now. It’s time to let that old thing go Bronx Ale :-)
We love coming to the Bronx Ale House practically every Sunday after our mornings at the park. The Bronx Ale House has a great selection of beers on tap as well as a satisfying Brunch menu. They are also welcoming to our son, especially Kenya and Katrina. We appreciate the prompt and warm service at the ale house!
Bartenders repeat after me...YOU ARE NOT GODS GIFT TO THE WORLD..HUMBLE YOUR MF SELF. I understand yall get to be a bartender. Stop letting that sht get to your head. You are a bartender...in the Bronx...at the Ale House...dassit. Been there multiple times and each time a colleague has to point out how much they dont want to go there bc the last time they were there the bartender was nasty. Tried like atleast 4 times. And whenever there is talk about where to go for after work drinks, and this place comes up, Im going home or next spot. The disappointment is real.
This is a great bronx home bar to head to after work or enjoy the night out with friends. Everyone that works here is extremely attentive and super chill too. Ive been coming here with my pals almost twice a week, like tradition (were not alcoholics...maybe). Anyway, come here for the staff, the great craft beer selection or food. By the way, theres a cute girl here that knows about Metal Gear Solid, shes cool as fudge too.
A generous two stars because of the beer menu that’s fairly unique for the area. Service was absolutely terrible. Hostess was rather rude in telling us to move out of the way when we were waiting to be seated. It took 20 minutes for the server to show up to take our order when they weren’t ridiculously busy. The server carried our glasses to the table by the rim, which is disgusting, even outside of a pandemic. He also didn’t know what a saison was or where it was on his tablet. The beer took 25 minutes to come out after we finally got our order in. Won’t be returning.
The wings felt like they refried them after letting them sit out for a while. cauliflower bites were ok. and the sliders were dry. this was my second time coming here and I thought i was going to have the same experience I did the first time, but i guess not. Not only was the food mid but the manager ID me and my partner and said my ID was expired when it wasnt, i cant go to the DMV with a non expired ID to just renew my current age (and yes, after this experience i even personally went to the DMV and tried to). horrible costumer service from the person in charge of this place, on the other hand the waiters that attended us were super nice, gave us napkins and water and just great hospitality over all with them..
Ive been ordering from here since god knows when. I have been to hundreds of places that claim to have the best wings.... Well let me clarify that now.... BRONX ALE HOUSE HAVE THE BEST WINGS IN NYS PERIOD!! AND ITS NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION!!! The staff is great... customer service on point... the drinks are made perfect! Just a really cool and chilled place to go grab some food and drinks!!
I order the sliders and garlic parm fries, it’s was awesome. The fried Mac & cheese bars is not great. Has a great fried crispy exterior but the inside is missing the liquid gold american cheese flavor. The onion rings were excellent but the portion was horrible for $8.
I love this bar and the server was a really cool guy but he (and his so called manager who was watching him) needs to understand the law. You dont need to order a full meal to have a few beer. Every other bar in NYC will allow you to order fries or even a hot dog for less than 6 bucks. Now Im stuck with a meal to go bcuz of a few beers.(The food item must be purchased at the same time as the initial alcoholic beverage. Shareable food items may be purchased, according to the guidance, but they must sufficiently serve the number of people in the party. To meet the requirement, manufacturers that can sell alcoholic beverages for on-premise consumption could serve various food items, including sandwiches, soups or finger foods, such as breads, cheese, crackers, fruits and vegetables)Thats all. Other than that the bar is beautiful and a cute, trendy place to hang out. I am not shading the waiter. He was cool.
I’ve come here a few times. It’s pretty good. Sometimes the portions are off but the food is still good and not crazily overpriced or anything. Last visit I went on a day it wasn’t too busy and waiting a while but I was happy because the less people there the better I feel didn’t want feel too close or too crowded. They spray the table down before you sit. They said they would text us when our table was ready but we didn’t get it but they lady did come out after a while to see if we had been seated and he hadn’t so she sat us right away. The food came fast and it was nice and hot and the drinks was good. Mines was a little strong, I’m not complaining lol. The server was nice but seemed nicer to others, maybe they didn’t think we was going to spend a lot or had a busy or rough day. But we had a good day date and left full! Would go again if it’s a empty day and in the mood. It’s worth a place to visit every once in a while. I liked it.
We frequented bronx ale house prior to covid and have been ordering every now and then during. the food is always great the service is on point. But yesterday on our first dinner back there with my family we were served by Julia and the service was outstanding she definitely went above and beyond.
Had an uber eats coupon and decided to try this place. Only paid $5 for the meal and it wasn’t even worth that. Fried Mac and Cheese lacked flavor and was incredibly dry. Ribs barely had any meat on them and were also flavorless. Fries seemed to be old or fried with very dirty fry oil, tasted horrible. Do better.
Super cozy spot. They show sports on the tvs, and even lower the music down for big events which I found pretty cool. At the same time its not really a spanish vibe which is a plus since most spots in the area are all spanish. Staff was super friendly too and the wings were great!
Food was good, love the wing flavor selection and menu choices! Table service was good, even though I had to go get a drink I had ordered from the bar I attribute that to my impatience over anything. Drinks were amazing! Sleepers...I had the blueberry lemonade and it tasted exactly like the name, but I couldnt taste the moonshine...I felt it though! Id definitely go again!
The food was very very good. I ordered the ribs, Mac and cheese and garlic Parmesan fries and I am pleased. Four stars simply because for $50 I felt the portion was a little off & I’d much rather have the food fresh than prolonged by an hour on uber eats. Would eat here again, but going to the store myself next time.
Ive been going here for about 7 years, and I have never had a bad experience. The beer selection is amazing, the food is better than many restaurants and most bars. Im so glad that they expanded it. I have been there for brunch and for a late night out, and it has been amazing each time. I take my friends and family here regularly. I highly recommend.
Bronx Ale House is working hard to follow city mandates to keep its space and workers safe and compliant. Unfortunately, its at the blatant disregard and detriment of their patrons. Theyll say and lie about whatever they need to for you to spend your money and then treat you poorly. During our visit, we saw multiple parties having similar or worse experiences. If you call ahead or arrive to any wait, prepare to be given a blatantly false wait time. They may quote 5-10 minutes, but youll be waiting at least an hour. You might ask if its possible to order something while you wait, not at a table, and theyll immediately tell you yes and take your order/money. They wont serve alcohol without food ordered and will only provide it all at once, which is of course fair because of the city mandate, but theyll also force you to wait for it off-property and never let you know that the food and/or drink youve ordered is ready. Theyll just keep you waiting due to their flagrant disorganization and lack of concern for customers.Theyll also blatantly tell you that you are allowed to eat or drink what youve ordered while youre waiting for a table, but be warned that this is blatantly false. Once you get your order youll be escorted away from the property, even though youre still waiting for a seat. If consuming a to go order on the street while you wait isnt acceptable by city mandate, then thats fine, just dont blatantly lie to customers about it before hand to take their money under false pretenses. Also, be warned that the queue for a seat means absolutely nothing. The hostess blatantly seated at least two parties who arrived after us, whom she clearly knew personally. This is probably why the estimated wait time you might receive is such a lie.Go patronize the actual breweries who are making local NYC beer and struggling to stay afloat, and avoid this trashy, lying, money grubbing establishment that wont treat you with any basic decency.
First time dining out for brunch in six months. I was so impressed with bronx ale house service, safety and socially distant set up. Their food and drink menu as always was great, but more importantly the staff is working hard to keep their patrons safe. Thanks to the alehouse staff!
Food, ambience and drink selection were superb! We had wings, nachos and fries. I have never had fries the way I did here. Delicious! The wings are the best hands down. Our server Sean was very friendly and made our first visit enjoyable. He made great suggestions and we loved our meal. In fact, we will be back this weekend! Highly recommend! Perfect place to drink, eat and socialize.
I have gone to Bronx Alehouse many times mostly for drinks and fries. And those experiences were really good. However, I very recently held a surprise birthday brunch for my cousin and did not have the best experience. The covid regulations were followed to the Max which is great. And the place is very clean, all staff with masks. However, the brunch food was bleh. Most of us ordered the big Bronx breakfast of steak, eggs, hash browns and toast. Everyones steak was beyond tough. And we all ordered medium and medium well steaks. Even with pink and red insides, the steaks were so tough the table shook to cut. Worst of all, we had to request utensils (which if we all ordered brunch, we should have been provided beforehand) and separately request steak knives which really were butter knives with a pointed top. Not one person who ordered this dish finished the steak. Also, they didnt have steak sauce for the steak which was quite bland. Further, the hash browns are clearly prepackaged and fried to be soooooo oily. I ordered truffle fries that didnt taste like any truffle and were scorched. For those who ordered the chicken and waffles... It was beyond basic. Again, prepackaged waffles, scorched chicken (which means the grease is too hot when frying). One person ordered avocado toast which is a bacon and egg sandwich with avocado - doing way too much. Again, this was bleh. Lastly the brunch drinks. We all complained that the basic mimosa was nasty. The slammosa was very good. Their version of sangria is sorely disappointing. It tastes like watered down cheap red wine. As a group, we paid $453 but only about 50 dollars of it was worth it. We actually went to the supermarket and purchased more food to go back to the birthday girls house to cook. Im sorry, but dont think I want to go back here.
The food here is pretty good if you like burgers, wings, fries, etc. They have a very large selection of beer. It is great. They can get busy but they have space for you to wait at the bar. The bartender was very friendly, he made sure to check on me often. The waiter at the table was very sweet and friendly. There is no dance floor. This place is mainly to eat and drink but it is very big and you can have group gatherings. You have a view of the TV from most places and they have multiple channels on so you dont have to only watch one sports event. They are open until 4 am but their busiest time is before 10pm.
The kale salad was fresh with an interesting salad dressing. The pork quesadillas were excellent. My second visit was not so good. The quesadillas were not fresh. It tasted horrible. A staff standing outside made some strange remarks concerning food and his guardian angel protecting him.I found this to be strange. I would not return for fear of having my food contaminated.
The quality of food has competitive fallen off! I recently ordered the traditional buffalo and bbq wings and all 12 pieces were completely burnt. Since, I had this delivered, I couldnt take this back and so I tried eating some of the wings but ultimately ending up throwing them out. Money wasted and still hungry...I will not be ordering anymore.
AMAZING!I am not sure where to start. I went on a late Friday night and I was tempted to go else where because it looked so crowded but thankfully I was convinced to go in and wow am I glad! The service was AMAZING!!! Everything we needed before we even asked! The moment our drinks finished we were asked if we would like another which was nice we did not have to hound a waitress down. I did not feel out of place there was a good mix of customers from all backgrounds. The staff from the bouncers to the food servers were all polite and gracious. Food was literally to die for and the drinks were smooth and a good amount of alcohol, so they dont cheap you out! They even have outdoor seating so I can bring my Bulma (french Bulldog). I will defiantly be going back again with my pooch for a nice lunch! I highly recommend!!The only downfall, only stools to sit on, even at the tables. So get your butt ready!
Great ambiance and staff. The ambiance is super laid back. There is a game room in the back which was a total bonus when you are there with a few friends. All the staff members where incredibly attentive and went out of their way to deliver exceptional service. The beer and food choices were wonderful and had a larger variety. We will definitely be back.
This place is a joke.. I had a bee fall in my drink and I told the waiter about the bee and he took my drink and took over 20min never came back.. so I got up and told him, he gave me back my same drink with out the bee and told me I cant give you more because you drank half..
Food was great, but the long wait was not. Literally we had to wait for an hour to get seated, mind you they had like 3 tables available, Im not sure if those people had reservations or something, but they kept saying that they were waiting for them. Theyre gonna have to get a better system, while we were waiting lots of people decided to leave. It didnt make any sense on the wait..
I have only been here twice. The first time 2 years ago was with some classmates for a birthday. The beer selection was vast. The ability to see the levels of each keg or when a keg was just tapped in real time is pretty cool. The food I had was amazing. My recent visit I was highly disappointed. I went to sit at the bar. The two lady bartenders were talking to each other and did not acknowledge my presence. It was really weird that they are at work and rather talk to each other. They walked back and forth talking to each other. I was baffled. I asked for a drink they gave it. The first time they looked at me. I was not offered a menu and they walked away to talk to each other before I can get the words can I get a menu could come out. Drink was empty, yet again no acknowledgement. I asked for another. Another bartender came on. I was assuming they ignored me because it was the end of their shift. I did not want to stay to eat. I was upset because I know the food is great. I will give the Bronx ale house one more chance. I will not let the bartenders ruin a great place to get beer and food.
I went here for the first time last week. Grabbing a to go order. They had just opened the atmosphere was great. My husband had a beer while waiting for our food. Beer was tasty and cold. When we got home we devoured our food it was amazing to say the least will definitely return with some friends. The staff so friendly and made you feel comfortable.
Upon entering I noticed available tables. Being told there was a 40 minute wait we chose to go elsewhere but I returned inside to use the bathroom. My gf waited inside and witnessed the people who entered after us, who had just signed in their name on the guest list, were not only seated immediately but were given a choice of where to sit. After asking if they were taking reservations, which they did not, the hostess began backpedaling and tried to get us a table at which time my gf let her know that we no longer wanted to be there.
Been here several times and the food is delicious. Our first time we had a large order of wings and had different sauces. The sauces were great and the wings were cooked perfectly. They were crunchy on the outside and the sauce stuck well on the sauce. We also had the sliders which were fabulous because you get to try different types. The service was prompt and friendly and the complimentary popcorn was great. We will be coming back most definitely!
I had come here a few times and like the beer selection. I came tonight to watch football along with some good beers. After a couple of beers i was approached by 2 members of the staff, who gave me a red ticket to redeem for a free beer. Approximately 15 minutes later i tried to redeem that ticket for a free beer, but was told that they were NO LONGER accepting those red tickets that THEY handed out, for free beers. The interaction with the Alehouse staff after that was GREATLY unpleasant. It literally turned me off to the place despite their beer selection.Respect is important when dealing with customers. Thats how you stay in business, if you truly want to stay in business.Looking for another place now to watch football. Even if their beer selection is inferior, if they show respect to their customers, they will win me over.
The service: greatThe wait staff: great personality great opinions. Friendly .The prices: decent but the menu needs variety. To much of everything is friend which gives more opportunity for the cooks to over cook the food. Which happened with the onion rings and totsThe food: 3 stars. The tacos taste amazing even though they were corn tortillas. The chicken was decent bit the sauce on it is good. Tater tots over cookedThe bar drinks: A+ taste delightParking: its the bronx so its going to be tough but you can chance parking in the McDonalds nearby. The decor: nope. Please get new tables and chairs.Honestly it was wait staff that brought the score up. I was honestly going to give a 2 BUT because Tyreece gave great service: he was friendy, fast, patient with my friend who didnt know what she wanted . I gave an extra 2 stars BECAUSE OF HIM.Good job T
Great selection of beers. Good staff & atmosphere. The food though is super salty...everything...even the dressings. I am positive this is to get you to drink more beer. And also ordered the pulled pork nachos and they put ground beef then pork. Very confused. Great TV selection.
Average spot...we were really ready to like the food and we came hungry but service was slow. Sat at the bar and drink speed was good but food took so long to come out...the kitchen was backed up but people who ordered to go got their food before us. We were sitting by the door so we could easily see who was coming in and out. Parmesan fries came out hot. I did like the flavor of the Thai chili wings but the spinach artichoke dip wasnt warm enough so the cheese was hard. I liked the fact that they have a hard ginger beer.
Amazing place to go to. I went there to grab a quick bite to eat and had their vegan burger. I honestly did not expect it to be so delicious. The staff is really friendly and dont mind chatting with you and the food is superb. Hands down one of the best vegan burger Ive ever had. Love love love it!!!!!!!!!
Good wings, good burgers and a good beer selection. Electronic tap board shows you when kegs are being depleted and can be incredibly loud when the local teams are on. Overall a solid place for a good beer and a burger. They also do the occasional event- tap takeover, beer pairing menus etc. Their fries leave a little to be desired. Brunch is also good.
Truly on of the best experiences eating out in a long time! The beer selection was phenomenal with a focus on local brews. The food was amazing and to top it off service was spot on. I am looking forward to coming back again. As a culinary student, I most certainly approve!
Walked into this bar not knowing whats to expect. To my delight they have a great draft beer selection, wings were delicious, highly recommend!!! To top things off Greg our bartender was amazing! We had great conversations and genuine interactions.Side note: Gregs old school hip-hop playlist.....A+
I love this place!!! They opened right as I moved out of the neighborhood but I still come back to the area just for this place. Excellent beer selection with lots of featured local breweries, super delicious sandwiches and bar food and a game room. Parking sucks during the day but at night its fine plus the subway gets off right on the corner. Probably my favorite bar in NYC.
Nice ambiance and great customer service. Marcos, our waiter was awesome, he recommended us some dishes and beers that we liked a lot. I loved the boneless wings with pineapple teriyaki sauce! I tried the Naked Flock Draft Cider and it was really good. They serve complimentary pop corn!
Ive been going to the Bronx Alehouse semi-regularly since they opened several years ago. Their tap list is always pretty solid, their expansions have added a lot to the space, and they usually have a very good, cellared bottle list. My last trek for Sunday brunch was the first time I was disappointed with their food, though. Instead of getting the excellent food I had come to expect, I ended up with a meal that was just okay. That was the consensus of the table.I certainly hope we came in on an off day, and I look forward to updating this review to give stars as I know they can earn it.
Absolutely love the wings here and french fries. The food is outside the box and very creative. Also the board games make it into a fun place. Beware of the popcorn, its totally free However they are loaded with salt and I suspect that they do this to to get you to buy more beer. The service is here is pretty and would give it a 3.5 put of 5.
Nice beer drinking environment. Wasnt overly impressed with the pork loin sandwich (the flavors were fighting each other). The beer selection was great though and I liked how the drafts, prices, and states of the kegs were displayed on the screen in real-time. Friendly staff, will certainly return.
By far my favorite bar to go to. Everything here is amazing. From appetizers, food and to drinks. Not a beer drinker but they have cocktails available. Definitely gets loud inside, but never rowdy. They expanded and added some games. Not to mention you can control the music.
My adult daughter and I arrived on a Friday evening when it was very busy. We were told by the host it would be a 20 minute wait. After about 15 minutes, another party of 4 arrived followed by a party of 2. The party of 4 were seated several minutes later and the the party of 2 were seated. I asked the host why did she sit the party of 4 before us and she said because the table that was open seated 4. I then pointed out that all of their tables seat 4 people and that most tables of 4 had only 2 people seated. She then told me that it is better for business to sit a party of 4 before sitting a party of 2 even though were had been waiting longer. She then told us that we were welcome to sit and eat on a highboy (in the center of the bar area where everyone gathers). I refused knowing that highboys aren’t meant for dinner. We finally were seated at a table and after we paid splitting the bill with 2 cards and were writing up the tips on the receipts, a couple of the guys came over to tell us that there was a glitch in the system and needed our credit cards back. I looked at them suspiciously and said that based on the receipts everything appeared okay. They then recanted and walked away. So either they were trying to steal our info and scan our cards or they thought we had stolen cards. Either way— bad customer experience.
This is a solid bar that has a good selection of rotating beers at all times. A lot of them tend to be local beers as well. There is of course bar food, but its great for what it is. They have added some space, which is great at busy times. They also have skiball and a dart board in the back.
I have been few times in this place, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is very good, though the music playing was a bit loud and the sitting are a bit uncountable. They also have table outside but I did not have a chance to try it because is winter. There are a lot of draft beers and they changed it very frequently. The food is very good I can recommend the Smoked Ribs a 1/2 rack house-smoked St. Louis ribs with Jerk Sauce or Bronx Alehouse BBQ sauce, very juice and delicious, the wings and French fries are pretty good. Dont Order the burger is not good. But is nice to see a quality bar in the Bronx, I will come back more often.
Great place to sit down with a friend or two and enjoy craft beers. Their selection is extensive, and they have a board (TV?) that shows you whats on tap, how long ago the keg was tapped, the beers ABV, and how much they have left (I think they rotate beers). Food is delicious! Come here for a nice experience, and watch the game while youre at it.
Came here on a Sunday to enjoy wings and football with some friends. Our server (I arrived late, so I never got her name) was friendly, and helped with some drink and wing sauce recommendations. The atmosphere was what youd expect from a sports bar, but not too rowdy. Lots of TVs with different teams being shown. Its cool to see Jets fans cheering along with Cowboys fans, while Patriots and Giants fan console each other in the corner 😛.The food was so good. I ate more wings than I should have. Even their boneless wings are a cut above most places. Id called them lightly breaded chicken tenders. Prices were fair, too. Three grown men eating and drinking their fill for less than $110.All in all, Im glad our bro suggested this place, but even happier that its only a 30 minute train ride away.
There are deceptively fewer seats, it seems, than the space would allow, but that lends to an airier feel. One gripe is that parking can be pretty difficult around there, but thats not their fault. I really liked the food, interesting and more creative takes on pub food (they have a really mouth-watering IG feed with daily specials). Im not that into beer, but cocktail list is solid. Service is good.
Always a good time here. Food is delicious. Lots of different beers to choose from. They serve popcorn for every table. The popcorn is nice to have as your looking at the menu. The buffalo chicken slider was sooo good. The beef and pork sliders are great too. You cant go wrong with any of them. Anytime Im in the area, I try to make it out here.
Theyre were having like a carnival thing and were playing outside maybe this affects the attention of our waiters, we waited for our beers for more than 15 minutes. And if we asked for something extra we have to wait a long time to get it. One of the waiters was a bit rude and pretty much smashed one of the glasses to the table when he brought the beer! However... maybe we had bad luck cuz we sat outside. But food was decent.
Its always crowded, and youll have to wait a bit for a table. The food is really good and they have a expansive selection of beers. Their cocktails are good too, but some are a hit or a miss. I ordered a pumpkin spice martini just to be in the holiday mood, but it wasnt my favorite drink there.
Love the place, my first time and I enjoy my self, staff was polite and friendly, place was clean , especially the bathroom two thumb up on that from me. Food was on point. Drinks you cant complain. So yes I really enjoy my self. I do recomend you go out and see for your selves
I have been here countless times. The food is superb, the extensive list of beer on tap is phenomenal, and the mixed drinks are refreshing. I come here often with my wife for lunch or late night drinks after exams over at Lehman College. We made this our go-to place with our friends and colleagues, we have shown up here with groups of 12 - 20 people on the last minute thing and the manager and staff have always gone above and beyond to seat us and make us feel welcomed. BIG kudos to Scarlet and Irene two of our favorite staff members. Service is KEY! and you all rock!I wish the establishment much continues success.I cant wait to get back there and have another #16

2021-12-18Had a wonderful pulled pork sandwich; soft, savory, sweet. Friendly service, and a lovely drink. French fries were a bit soggy. The fried Mac and Cheese isnt what I was expecting-- drier, needed some salt. I really wish they had a dessert menu, even if its just a lava cake. The wings were good. The alehouse BBQ is a great addition to any of there dishes.

2022-01-17Bronx Alehouse is a BX favorite and I always enjoy coming. Today, the service was lacking big time. Their entire staff looks new so I’m not sure if they know what they’re doing. The food was good tho, minus a couple kitchen errors.

2022-01-11I haven’t even eaten my meal yet but I just came here to say, this was the most thoughtfully prepared delivery order I have ever received and I am damn near 40. The salad was perky and well mixed, the fries weren’t soggy, the bombers were neatly arranged, and I could go on. Whoever was on duty tonight just earned you all another loyal customer. Seriously… top marks all around 🏆👏🏽

2022-02-24I visited Bronx Alehouse for an early lunch. The vibes were pretty dead and mellow. There was no one greeting so we found our own seats and then had 3 people come up to us to ask for vaccination cards which seemed like overkill. Aside from that, I had the sancocho which had great flavor but barely any broth, the small plate was packed with large pieces of chicken and much of nothing else.

2022-01-16Decent standard American fare, typical bar food but less greasy and sloppy. Travels well and the portions are fair along with the pricing. The fish tacos were a standout, crispy with a sweet salsa; very nice. Cajun fries were a tad spicy and oversalted but if shared they should be fine.

2021-10-19Juicy, well seasoned, fresh tasting and big 1/2 lb cheese burgers (fries included - had the tator tots) with L&T on toasted buns. Onion rings were $2 extra, fresh, crispy and tasty. Lots of seating indoors with two separate rooms away from the bar, each with designated rest rooms plus plenty of outdoor seating as well.. Great atmosphere to watch sports and for beer enthusiasts (great selection and knowledgeable waitresses) or simply just to hang out.Only reason why Im giving them 4 stars is because it took them a while to attend to us, menus werent given nor did we have any bar code to scan (I had to go to the bar to get it), they never checked up on us (I wouldve bought another beer if they did) and I was charged $2 extra for the burgers for some reason.

2021-08-06Food is very good so is the service. We started with the wonton nachos with pulled pork. The pulled pork was very good, I would have preferred chips or homemade potato chips instead of the wonton chips. We had the maple bacon bourbon boneless wings and they were very good, the smell of the wings made your mouth water. Personally a little more bacon bits would have been great. My wife had the Thai chili wings which she always enjoys

2022-06-06Service and food are always great. Regular place for me to unwind as I live nearby (walking distance) and one of my favorite spots after a tough day of work. My favorite is the honey Sriracha wings, cooked twice - crispy and delicious.

2021-03-11Great food and super friendly staff. They clearly maintain good safety protocols (over and above what Ive seen in other restaurants). I had the grilled chicken wrap with fries. It was delicious. The flavors hit you at different times. From when you first taste it, when you chew and when you finish. Its been a while since Ive had a rating experience like that. Well done! The drink is their homemade apple cider with some rum (because, why not?). Normally, this is a cold weather drink but my server suggested that she ice it up for me.This is great service, since I would have assumed it was cold on a warm day like today.Overall, a great experience! Definitely on my list of places i need to return.
