Very good food I must say, everything just about was very good. I havent found any other better soulfood in the Bronx. Very Delicious!! Me and my kids enjoyed every bit of it. I didnt really care for the Mac & Cheese but everything else was very good. Oxtail Delicious and sweet not spicy at all. Im very pleased. Definitely will be ordering again.
If I can give you a no star I would. Customers beware these folks giving out old expired food. Me and my kid got the worst stomach poisoning known to man. It’s been 2 days and We are very sick. I mean I know times rough but cmon. We had basic food jerk chicken rice and peas and Mac. Going to make case in dept of health

Ordered two orders of corn bread which they didnt have so they just sent whatever they wanted without notifying me and asking if Id like something else.They decide to send a tiny piece of pie and Mac-n-cheese in sauce from the dry tasteless turkey wings.
This place is friendly & the food is scrumptious, they give excellent customer service and I will definitely be eating with them again, oh yes its a the gem of gunhill🥰
My husband and I wanted to try something different for a change. Normally I would order through Grubhub but decided to order through Uber Eats. After browsing through different restaurants we decided that we were going to eat soul food. We decided to give this restaurant a shot. I placed my order for fried chicken, mac & cheese with collard greens and my husband decided to order baked chicken, french fries and mac & cheese. We also ordered corn bread.Shortly after placing the order I received a call from the restaurant that they did not have any fried chicken. I was given the options of choosing between baked or BBQ. I was confused because normally soul food restaurants are made to order. I told the lady Ill take fried shrimp instead and Ill pay the difference. She then proceeded and put the manager on the phone. He explained to me that he cannot do that and I would have to call Uber to make the adjustment since it is over the allowed amount to make changes. After conversing for a few minutes and me inquiring when the chicken would be done, a time around 9:30ish (PM that is) they should be finished cleaning and cooking the chicken. At this time its about 8:10pm. I said ok cool, Ill wait.I get a call from another manager stating that they do not have fried chicken and I was given the same options as earlier. I explained to the lady I spoke with another manager who told me that the fried chicken would be ready at a certain time. This lady had a little attitude. I told her its fine I would just cancel my order because this is just ridiculous and I hung up.I began calling Uber support and as I was calling Uber support i saw the restaurant was calling. I took the call. It was the Manager I spoke to earlier. He apologized and told me that it was extremely busy and that they would have the fried chicken. He again offered me the same options as earlier. I told him that I do not like BBQ chicken and I dont order baked chicken in the streets. Long story short, he persuaded me to get the baked chicken and that I would not regret it. If I regret it, I would get dinner for the family. He even threw in two Sunkist sodas.My food come and it looks just like the picture. I didnt not care for the food. The mac & cheese did not taste like it was made from scratch, the collard greens was a bit on the sweet side and I did not like the chicken. The chicken was a bit on the salty side. In addition, they forgot my corn bread and my Sunkist sodas.I gave it two stars because that guy really got me to step out of my comfort zone and order that baked chicken. Plus my husband said it wasnt too bad to him. Ive personally had better soul food. I will not be ordering from here again.
Food is pretty good and very well packaged to prevent leaks and spills. I just had the wings and shrimp combo with string beans and macn cheese. Very close to a home cooked level meal. Wouldve liked macn cheese with more cheese and not quite as dry, but thats my personal preference and it still tasted pretty good. I have had their candied yams, beans and rice and baked chicken before and they were all very good. Only minor issue for me is they never seem to have enough corn bread, even early in the day.
The food my family and I had was very good. We had the short ribs, oxtails, salmon, fried, baked & curry chicken coupled with Mac & Cheese, yams & peas-rice. The service was not fast but the staff was polite. The owner kindly prepared a small tasty sample container for me which basically sealed a return. Thus far our experience has been positive. It’s our new local go to spot for yummy soul food!
From the portions to the taste were beyond my expectations, i had the bbq chicken ,mac cheese ,collard greens and corn bread omg delicious. my husband and i we been wanting to try it for awhile all i can say is we are very satisfied and very full 😁

Purchased dinner from this spot and was sad to get unseasoned Mack and cheese, undercooked pieces of fish, unseasoned collard greens... Im not certain who cooked the food, but it tasted like Karen-home cooked--cuisine.....WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THERE AGAIN!!!! SOOOO Sad, to be based out of the Bronx---they should be in Staten Island or Bensonhurst Brooklyn!! ;(

Food was okay. Very salty and a lot of sugar in the juices. On the plus side the food is fresh and the customer service was great . Spot is open late so if you need an after hours joint to hit the spot when your drunk ....definitely the place for you
So I will start off with saying that the hospitality from them is great! There very polite, and helpful, even brought the food out to my car to me. But as I got home I realized one of my orders was completely wrong. Didn’t make a big deal, still started to consume it anyways. And these are my personal thoughts on this and that the Baked Mac and cheese is NOT original or real baked Mac and cheese it’s taste off and a bit sweet. The sweet yams had a very strong citrus taste to it such as lemons or oranges. I’m a big turkey wings fan and it was just salty. The collards greens had a “metal taste” to them. And even though the fried chicken smelled great it was very bland. I am highly disappointed because I really wanted to like this place and be a regular customer. But I can easily say that I will not be back. Maybe it’s the recipes or the cooks that they have but the food is just really off for “Soul Food”. Which really sucks.
I ordered from Uber eats and to start my delivery was over an hour more because the restaurant wasn’t ready. Now I get my food 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 EVERYTHING was sweet like the yams, I had the fried whiting and I have had better fried and seasoned fish from Kennedy Fried Chicken. The collard greens tasted like they were from the can and SWEET, the macaroni and cheese SWEET… Very disappointed and will NEVER order from here again, this is NOT REAL SOUL FOOD. I almost forgot I asked for Kool Aid but they sent me iced tea that tasted like the lemon was sitting in it to long, whole experience was very disrespectful and disappointing to my culture smh

Food and service was a+ from the bbq chicken to the collard greens everything was amazing.
They didnt send my order right and when I called to ask about my food they said they werent paying attention because they were too busy! Very upsetting.
Food was great. I ordered candied yams, cornbread and sweet chili wings. Unfortunately the cornbread was going to take 20 extra minutes but they called to inform me and gave me an option for a different side so i substituted it for corn. Everything was cooked and seasoned well.The worker who made the call was extremely polite and accommodating. The driver was also polite and kind. The delivery was on time and the food was still hot. I will definitely order from here again.Thanks for the amazing food and service!
I usually do not write reviews. But Lawd have mercy. This was not good at all. For the money spent as well using Doordash. Orded dinner for my Fiancé and I He got the oxtail dinner and I got the beef ribs dinner (2 sides) The Mac & Cheese horrible, the Collard Greens forget it. This was not good at all. This was truly disheartening and wrong to my taste buds. The Ice Tea full of sugar/syrup i dont know. Had to add water to dilute it. It was a recommendation but I guess you all had to change chefs because this definitely was not good. Oh, wait I must say the Fried Shrimps were the only enjoyable item.
If I could give this place a 0 star I would , Mac and cheese tasted like it has been left in the fridge for a month and the oxtail was burnt and tasted burnt …. I will never or from here again
Food was stale . I ordered chicken and waffles and I don’t know what they sent me . It was colored mash potatoes I guess because it was falling apart and it did not feel like or look like waffles . It was also cold and the fries was stale . Food was just over priced and bad quality. At least it customers are willing to pay for their food make sure it’s real food and real quality because what’s the point of being a food restaurant if customers can’t eat what you send them . Just disappointed.
The staff was so friendly and kind, it felt like I was at a dinner table at home. They really make you feel like family and to top it off the food is amazing. Everyone should be eating here, for real.
Maybe it was due to the fact that it was a Friday and we got there around 9:30pm, that the quality of food didnt seem up to par..Not tryna be scathing but it didnt help that the collard greens were really soggy & kinda grainy..We also found it odd that the mac & cheese was rather bland. There were no more yams and we were told there would be no more made... . .. Overall, an underwhelming experience.
I Waited 2 hrs for my food. Order your food in the morning if you want to eat by dinner. I normally dont write reviews after this experience Im done. The macaroni and was disgusting I had boxed macaroni and cheese that taste better. The BBQ chicken taste like it originally baked chicken and all they did was put BBQ sauce on top w/o baking it. The cabbage was good. The beef ribs taste like they was soaked in vinegar all night tough and tasteless. I strongly suggest getting some tonys creole seasonings. I am surprised that this food is considered soul food. I suggest going on YouTube and get some soul food recipes.
Food was AMAZING !! I had the curry chicken , Mac and cheese , rice and beans , collard greens and yams. Everything was seasoned nicely. I will definitely be coming back when i am in the area .
They have horrible customer service. I called to explain an error that occurred through UberEats whilst ordering from them and the gentleman whom I spoke with was not patient at all. He brushed me off the phone and hung up with no resolution whatsoever. Upon asking to speak with management, I was told no one was there. Each time I’ve ever tried to order from there via UberEats, my order gets canceled. Either the meal being ordered is sold out or something of a sort. Horrible customer service. Can’t speak of the food as I’m yet to get a bite to eat from them. Definitely, avoid ordering with them through UberEats. You’ll never get your order.
Where do I start?The mac n cheese was weird. I cant put my finger on it.The collards were good but salty.The shrimp...Ive ordered shrimp dinners from other locations and im used to them freshly frying them. These shrimp were in a warmer already. By the time I got home they were cold and tough and taste store bought.The potato salad was salty and tart, like vinegar.Sadly, I will not be back.
I ordered catfish and chips. When it was delivered, the catfish was thick and meaty with a crisp skin- just what I had a taste for. It could invest in better containers to keep food hot/warm. The delivery time was good. I will try to call the restaurant and tell them.
I heard that this food was really good and I have passed by a few times myself. But on this day I took a trip from New Jersey (72 miles). I had a craving for some decent soul food. They didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing. I ordered BBQ CHICKEN, Ox Tail. I will be taking another trip to get me some fried fish and I will keep you guys posted.
I am from the South, Houston, TX to be exact, where we LOVE our food and generally the food in the South is seasoned differently therefore it tastes different! I have been in New York City for 4 years now and this is BY FAR the absolute best food Ive had since Ive been in NYC! I placed two orders, I ordered the bar-b-que beef ribs, greens and mac and cheese! I also ordered the baked chicken and the mixed vegetables and they were absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for some really good food!
Home style comfort food. A little on the plain side but then thats expected for home style grub. Macaroni and cheese definitely had real melted cheese and greens and yams were great. At first it thought to my self hey dont scrape the brown crust off the mac-n-cheese pan and put that in my dish. But that actually turned out to be the tastiest part. Glad I didnt say anything. Great New Year stop for black eyed peas! I did think the price for meatless dish was a little bit higher than necessary but in all fairness Im a tourist so price might be normal for this area. And with meat was a good price. Very friendly local neighborhood attitude about the place. Great healthy non-greasy to go place
Today my fiance and I ordered from your restaurant, he had oxtail white rice and yams and I had the fish and shrimp with yams and mixed vegetables, OMG! It was Freaking GREAT! Filling, well seasoned, plentiful, and nicely priced! Thank You So Much, we will be ordering again!
Amazing!! Food was delicious and the owner was so generous, we drove down from upstate and he gave us sample plates to try before our food was ready. I would definitely be coming back, place was very clean and food was amazing.
This is absolutely so great a spot to truly eat and bring the family and friends!!! The BBQ fried chicken with mac and cheese and yams were top tier!!!! The vibes here was great, you feel like youre at your grandmothers house and she keeps offering you to try more things. Very at-home warm atmosphere. The fries were also delicious. FIRST off let me say this ... It was my first time hearing about this place from searching it on grub hub and omg the food was amazing. I ordered 5 completely different meals and we all loved our meals. I had oxtails with white rice and Mac and cheese for myself . I felt so full at first I could not even eat the entire meal. My mom had the turkey wings, my sister had the bbq chicken and my brother had the fried chicken. All the meals tasted so good according to my family. I love that when the restaurant didn’t have the mashed potatoes an fries I originally ordered they called me to ask what I wanted instead. The food came on time and was still hot , this was definitely a great choice for my family Friday dinner.
This was our first visit to this soul food take our, The service is excellent they gave us a taste test of it all the food. The food is awesome. We had fried chicken wings, collard greens, baked macaroni and cheese, red rice, cabbage and barbecue chicken and all delicious. Two thumbs up 👍👍. Everything was great with the exception of the timing of our order. We waited nearly 20 to 30 minutes. My suggestion call ,order then pick up.But again I highly recommend the food.
After reading Google reviews about Bronx Soul Food good and bad I decided to give them a try. I was so disappointed with my experience with them I had to write this review. It was around 8pm when I got to the restaurant, the employees were friendly and courteous and the food came pretty fast. I ordered fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. The sides were decent but the fried chicken was pre cooked and was sitting in a heating enclosure. When I started eating the chicken it was very tough and rubbery so I said maybe it was just this one but I was wrong it was all three. None of the chicken was consumable because it must have been sitting under heat for long periods of time. The chicken had three different colors to it when I bit into it. I will not recommend my friends and family to this place.
THE FOOD IS VERY BAD HERE. THE OXTAIL HAS ZERO GRAVY BUT FILLED WITH OIL. MY RICE WAS SWIMMING IN OIL. IF I COULD GIVE 0 STAR I WOULD. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The food was terrific and the customer service is perfect! They talk to you and have a pleasing helpful manner. I ordered wings, mac &cheese, oxtail, and chicken & shrimp with chips. I and my family are highly pleased and will definitely be ordering here again soon.
Omg this food was so horrible. I had much nerve to order big. I just knew my food was going to be a problem when the first thin I bit into was the Mac n cheese it tase like box than again box m&c taste better. My rib had a piece of hair in it and fried chicken didn’t taste friend but chewy like it was made yesterday and than microwaved... fried fish was so bland but the only thing eatable... yams was so stringy and taste like syrup. I can’t eat this disgusting food one bit
This was my first time ordering food from this restaurant. I ordered Turkey wings, collard Greens and Macaroni and cheese around 2:30pm. About 3:30pm, received a call indicating they were out of collard greens. Therefore I ordered a double order of macaroni and cheese. The food was delivered at 5pm; 2 1/2 hours later. The turkey wings were OK, the macaroni and cheese tasted as if the resturant did not use a variety of cheeses like most soul food restaurants. The meal was not worth $15
So Ill begin with the rude server/cashier by the name of Fatoumat. I will never go back to this place because of her and I will campaign my best to persuade others. Ladies/Gentlemen, the food was good not great, and the hospitality wasnt warranted by her. Save your time and money to go somewhere else.
Food is always excellent. I travel from upstate NY and Virginia to eat at this restaurant. The Yams, Sweet Corn, Fried Chicken, and Black Eye Peas.... oooouuuu it’s like my Great Grandmother’s cooking in the kitchen. Oxtail is always Great. Customer service is Awesome and they are very neat and clean. ❤️
The food here is really good but the customer service is horrible. When I called to check on my grubhub order someone (Male) was very rude and after arguing with me they just hung up. When they dont have food they just cancel your order. Unprofessional...
Food isn’t all that. If you know good food, you’ll know. I got chicken wings and shrimp and they weren’t crispy at all. No special seasoning just bland. Also the Mac n cheese has way tooooo much condensed milk in it to the point its sweet as hell. Not the way Mac n cheese Should taste. Kool aid was ok, tastes different. Came home and added my own seasoning to the Mac, and placed the wings n shrimp in the oven to get more crisp.
I ordered the fried chicken meal from this place through uber eats. It took some time to get the food— but the location is far from me. The chicken tastes sweet and it’s hard. Also- they ask you how you would like the meal prepared online( fried, baked, etc) - but it doesn’t give you the option to choose a wing, a breast, a thigh, a leg— you just receive the leg and a thigh. The macaroni is okay. But the cornbread- this restaurant doesn’t deserve any stars because of the cornbread. The cornbread was wrapped up- i took it out— it smells spoil. An extremely bad smell, and it doesn’t look done. I called the number listed on here, but no one answered the call( no once, but twice). What a waste of money and I was hungry too 🤮🤢😑😡
Found this place online and was intrigued. Definitely didnt disappoint me or the family. Great menu and if u dont eat pork this is the place for you. Chicken and waffles in flavors!! Yams and collards short ribs are on point! If a mistake is made customer service is a top priority here. Will be bk..

This place is awesome!! I was heading to another spot and stopped when I saw they was finally open. I gave them 5 stars, because the service was great, the prices are right, and the food is all yummy! I had mac and cheese, collard green, and fried fish. They let me taste the black eye peas, yams, and corn, etc. I will be back at the end of week for more. This store is a winner with the BEST soul food in the Bronx!!!

Omg Dont do it. I never leave bad reviews. I dont waste my time on them but O cant let someone else do this. Im a foodie and i even lower my expectations when Im going hood but come on!!!! Mac and cheese was not homemade with cheese. It was like the kraft but less cheesy. My turkey wings were not done and the bbq sauce which I didnt ask for now did I think would be the sauce was not very tasty. The shrimp were weggy fried and I opened immediately so it wasnt the sweat. The fried chicken was old and hard. I wasted my money because it honestly scared me to eat it.

Ok I love my people and I want to see us get ahead but the food has to get better, the macaroni had no flavor and this was the first time I had ribs that did not taste well at all. I personally recommend my mom making the food tbh hopefully this advice helps because the food is terrible. Yams were very good but please get better.
The food was not good. The baked chicken was tough and had no taste. The baked macaroni and cheese was fair. I asked the lady behind the counter if she had any potato salad. She said the man responsible for making it promised to so soon; he went out Saturday night.I wish I had better comments. I wont be returning.

Ordered my food around 9pm through Uber. 9:50 (when my food is suppose to arrive) I am now just getting a call talking about they ran out of it. Mind you they didnt tell me exactly what they ran out of could of been anything. Unfortunately we cant cancel the orders & get our money back after being accepted which is stupid. Overall the fried chicken was just dry.
This was some of the nastiest food that I have eaten on a long time. While the service wasnt the worst it also wasnt great. I was half decent. But the food tasted horrible.
Im reviewing first based on experience and then taste. I ordered via ubereats on the coldest day of the month so far so I expected a long wait. Also ordered in the evening so I expected them to maybe be out of something. They called me and explained they were out of friend chicken and mac and cheese they were making another batch that would ensure a delay. I gladly waited as they offered me other substitutes. They called me back to let me know when the order was almost complete. My uber driver cancelled the order and they assured me to place the order again as it was ready for pickup. I received the order within minutes of the final call and even spoke with the manager twice without asking to. They were all very politeThe food arrived hot, very good portions. I ordered a large with two sides. If you like your yams like they make them in the south (very sweet) they were spot on! The mac was cheesy and flavorful. Idk what others are complaining about. Im not a bbqs chicken person honestly but to my surprise it tasted good so I ate it and glad I gave it a try. Id order from this place again for sure.
For yall to be a black owned business your prices really dont target people in the community.. People tried to be nice but their prices are ridiculous and just not worth it for what you get. I spend 30 dollars on 2 meals that wasnt that much food. I am very upset. Small 4 dollars mac and chesse and large is 10 and its almost the exact same size. The guy tried to explain the difference but its still is not worth 10 dollars and the mac and cheese wasnt even good much for the price . The chicken was good but that was about it out of my entire order which includes me and someone elses drink.Customer service was good but the prices and food did it for me. Last time eating here. I would suggest them. I think your better off going anywhere else that you can get hella food for 30$.
Great homage meals. The care and attention given to the food and the customer is exceptional. I love their sweet candy yams, their greens, and the bbq chicken. There really isn’t much diversity in this area so Bronx Soul Food is a great addition. The owner is extremely attentive and welcomes the community input.
I DO NOT AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE OF BUSINESS FOR ANYONE WHO WORKED HARD FOR EVERY DOLLAR THEY HAVE! I WONT EVEN GRACE THE REVIEW WITH A SINGLE STAR (I have to give them the bare minimum for this to post)This establishment is making a mockery of all patrons visiting their restaurant or ordering through their website. I personally ordered food from the Establishment that I waited 1&1/2 hours for the delivery driver to call me to inform me that the order wasnt even filled....wait for it....wait for it...because they have none of the items I requested!The problem isnt the LACK of food, (I could just order something or somewhere else given proper direction), but, The ABSENCE of professional management is a HUGE PROBLEM. I URGE ANYONE WHO WANTS GOOD FOOD and DECENT SERVICE....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
At first the delivery was more than an hour late I was very very upset it was first time ordering. but I spoke to Philip and he went out his way to get the food delivered. The food was very very good. He threw in some rice and beans for my time , it was delicious. The food made up for the time lost.Thank you Philip for your hospitality ⚘

It wasnt brown enough or seasoned enough for my taste.Soul food is a difficult area in which to start an eatery because it is always compared to ones memory of their best soul food cook.Trying to cook to everyones pallet is no easy task. I commend this business for operating up in the Bronx in a largely Caribbean community. I wish them all the luck in the world!
Customer service/Management is horrible here, dont expect food in a timely matter AT ALL! Been in person a few times & the team cant put a basic order together in a timely manner. Put in my order, said it was gonna be ready in 20 minutes. 25 mins later (cuz I know how they are) food not ready nor did the cook begin the order. Now if your ordering through online service you have a better chance since your already waiting an extended amount of time& the courier is picking it up either way good luck. Rated 2 stars only b/c their portions size is big & food is decent.
I had heard about this restaurant from their on Ch.12 their tag line is Food is good it will make you want to slap your Moma. Now I had to try this ResturantI ordered fried chicken collard greens and Mac and cheese.At the first bite of the greens I thought I was at my Grandmaw table back in Tennessee.Greens tender and juicy.Mac and cheese full of flavor. The fried chicken crispy and seasoned well.The portions ample and worth the price charged. I must return for other mouth watering dishes like Oxtails. Catfish etc.Great restaurant and wonderful food.Eating at this at restaurant is just the right cure when I get home sick for Grandmaw and Tennessee.The food is good enough to slap your Moms.
I’m giving four stars because of the fact that they are understaffed while being extremely busy and while calling , my mother in law had a rude encounter. I will say , they came through and the owner was very considerate and thorough. The food was good and we were given free cornbread for all inconveniences.
I live around the area this restaurant is located and have been awaiting its opening for months, considering there arent any soul food restaurants in the neighbourhood to begin with. This was my first time eating their food and I cannot say I was satisfied. I ordered the barbecue chicken with macaroni and cheese with cornbread. They were out of cornbread, which was fine, I had a choice of entrée with 2 sides. However, the server just decided to add collard greens to my meal, without letting me know so I can pick a substitute. I just gave it a chance and paid. Whatever.The barbecue chicken was decent but the sauce is just a little too sweet. Also, this is a little picky but I think the customer should have an option of what pieces they want, not just the standard leg and breast. The macaroni and cheese was too tangy, and I wished the taste was more subtle, so to speak. The collard greens had no flavour at all and I just consumed them with barbecue sauce from the chicken. Overall, I thought the food could have been better.On a side note, I wish the portions were bigger. Im a fiend for rice, and was a little disappointed that for $7.99 ($8.70 total) no rice was included with the chicken, as most restaurants around the area do at around the same price. It is a new restaurant, so it is still finding its footing, but overall I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic soul food with generous portions.
Today was my first time opting to pick up my DoorDash order instead of choosing delivery, and it was quite an undertaking. I used my Apple Maps app for directions and ended up driving in circles for 10 minutes, before searching for a free (legal) parking space and walking through the directions. Nonetheless, I have to admit that I still walked right PAST the restaurant!! Food this amazing and comforting deserves a much bigger space, but I’m sure it will quickly outgrow it’s current location due to the shear demand for incredible edibles (not that kind) that touch your soul and your ancestors and literally makes you want to kiss 💋 the cook!!Finally in the right place; no fried chicken for 20 minutes. FYI, it flies out the door as soon as they prepare a fresh batch; it’s finger and palm of your hand-lickin good, so yes, I waited. I left out, moved my car across the street and kept a keen, cat eye out for the meter maid. They were short on staff as well, but Philip the tall, dark, and handsome, Mandingo in a head wrap kept up good jokes and conversation while I waited. His pearly-white, hypnotic smile almost made me forget how long I had been waiting. I say almost, because the hunger pangs literally told him to hurry it up!!Long story long, Bronx Soul Food is an extremely clean, welcoming, and fulfilling culinary and social experience that I promise to visit again very soon and I implore you to do the same. 😊
Place an order yesterday through ubereats. My order was two orders of Chicken & Waffles and a large order of mac and cheese . When the food was finally delivered there was no chicken whatsoever and only one order of waffles and a small mac and cheese . I called the restaurant a woman picked up who sounded confused . She eventually told me that the boss will be calling me at 10pm to help me out with the issue obviously he never called me back very unprofessional smh
I wouldve given them 5 stars but the times Ive been there, they ran out of food. Other than that, the food is awesome! Im not a fan of macaroni & cheese but their m&c is amazing! I renamed it Crackaroni & cheese because its so good, its addictive! The service is excellent. Every time I was there, iveI always had pleasant conversations with the people whom work there. SO.....This was my very first time ordering Soul Food from this place !! Mac and cheese was banging and fries were nicely salted. Only thing is that the fried chicken was drier than a popeyes biscuit and had no flavor, like it was literally just salt seasoned or something. Maybe i caught em at a bad time but dry chicken at a soul food place aint right.

Food not good at all!! Sorry but first of all we ordered off Uber eats. If you don’t have the dishes then it shouldn’t be on the menu. The restaurant called and said they didn’t have any ribs oxtails or bbq chicken. So we had to substitute. The fried chicken taste like it was dipped in sugar, the yams are wayyy to sweet. Mac n cheese has an odd taste I’ve never tasted any Mac like that. Like they used Saxon or accent salt or something sweet and salty combined. The fish and shrimp were completely cold like they weren’t made to order. They forgot a whole order of turkey wings with rice and string beans so we ended up paying for something we didn’t even receive. Disappointing because i love southern soul food but guess I’ll just stick to Harlem for that!!! AND FOR DESSERT ORDERED A PIECE OF SWEET POTATO PIE WHICH WAS FROZEN!!! The crust was completely still frozen when i tried to eat it after the food. Smh
I had the mac and cheese twice, fried fish and collards. I was not impressed at all. The mac was dry and bland, the collards were unseasoned, no smoked turkey. The fish was passable. Not enough food for the price. I recommend YVONNES.
I ordered from them on Uber Eats don’t even waist your money I ordered bake chicken with white rice and spinach with a carrot cake and homemade lemonade. The lemonade tastes like you will literally catch diabetes, they didn’t put my carrot cake in the order and they completely messed up the order and gave me string beans and rice and peas as the sides which is very flavorless. I’m extremely heated not to mention delivery took damn near a hour. The when I called to let them know the cook told me he deliberately did it because they were swamped! What type of business is this? Bad food bad service!
I was genuinely disappointed with the food I received from this restaurant, mainly because I wanted to order from Paula’s, and they were closed. I refuse to believe that a cook made box Mac and cheese, canned collard greens, and small rubbery fried shrimp. I will never order from this restaurant again and hope food delivery services drop them because it’s bad customer service to promote, charge, and deliver food of this (poor) quality.
The food is wayy tooo sweet. Mac and cheese sweet. Corn bread is corn cake. Even the collard greens were kinda sweet. This is like diabetes in the making.

I went to Bronx Soul Food with my family. It was five of us, so we decided to try different foods from their menu. The food was delicious, my son loves their oxtail and Mac and cheese .My favoite was the barbecue chicken with some corn bread, they definately have the best cornbread. If you have never tried this spot before you are for sure missing out.
THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE!!!! If it wasnt burnt then it didnt have any seasoning. The Mac and cheese was the worst of all, it tasted like the box of kraft with american cheese slices on top.

Was a bit Pricey for Everyday food. Friendly attitude but was told 5-7 minutes wait for my shrimp nd red rice nd baked Mac nd Cheese. I waited 30 minutes for my order. THE Mac wasnt the Best Ive Had. Red rice was Soggy. The Shrimp wish they had put more.
I visited this establishment the other day, on the the menu it states the seafood is food fresh call ahead to avoid long wait times, I called and was told they were not taking phone orders, ok, I wait on the line for 15 mins only for someone, I take the cashier friend to come up behind me and start to order, so I asked her if they do not take first come first serve. She blatantly tells me they do but she’s going to take this persons order before me even though I’ve been waiting in line for 15 minutes. I walked out and would never spend my money with them, they lack professionalism. Spend your money where it’s respected!!!

I went here for the first time today and the food was DELICIOUS.. I had the bbq chicken with mac and cheese and collard greens. But someone gave me a sample of the yams and black eyed peas and they were popping so Ill be back to get a meal with that too lol
I ordered fried chicken, mixed vegetables and mac and cheese and the fried chicken was dope and I like how it tasted. The vegetables were vegetables taste lol however the mac and cheese wasn’t too good.
The service is very slow. Polite but slow! Large dinners are too expensive. Cornbread should come with all orders. Need 2 servers to speed up the process. Youll start losing business if people know they will be there too long!

To Know how good the food is start with the basics, Greens, Yams, cornbread. Once you establish the care on those items you can splurge. I even drank the broth from the collards greens. 2022-02-15Hands down the worst food Ive tasted in awhile. I ordered food via Doordash. Upon arrival 1 order was completely missing and my fish&shrimp order was missing greens and given rice. The macaroni was disgusting! Who puts sugar in their Mac? The fish and shrimp were fried so hard i had a hard time chewing. The BBQ chicken was all BBQ sauce and the yams lacked everything. Dont ever order from this place because they will give you whatever they have instead of informing you they maybe out of certain items. Also the food is gross.

2022-06-26I ordered through Uber eats for lunch and I liked the food somewhat. The honeybbq wings were kinda cold and I didn’t really like them. I should have just played it safe and went with plain wings. I also ordered the fried fish/fried shrimp with Frenchfries. The fried fish I def. didn’t like and was way too soggy. Their fried shrimp was soooo good!

2021-04-01As of today, Bronx variety wings lost me as a customer. I ordered wings and fries and when my food was delivered, I only received my wings. I called back and was told to place a new order so I can get my fries. I have to place a new order to receive food I already ordered. How nice right?? I dont live far and their options to fix their error made no sense and not very good.. I will not order ever again.. Plus my wings were not even hot.

2022-05-16I tried them for the first time and was very disappointed. I ordered the oxtail meal and the fried chicken meal. The oxtails where dry and had no gravy. The chicken was dry and had no seasoning. The Mac and cheese had limited cheese. The rice was the best thing on the plate. I ask for cornbread and received carrot cake. When you don’t get what you expect it’s hard to think twice about wasting your money again. Please do better after reading these reviews.

2021-11-26I should’ve listened to the reviews, but I was hungover and didn’t feel like cooking because I wasn’t in the thanksgiving spirit. Don’t get me wrong, my food arrived in a timely manner and it hot and fresh, but that doesn’t matter when it’s INCORRECT and MISSING ITEMS. I ordered a large chicken dinner with macaroni, rice and peas, and collard greens as my side and a separate order of 6 pc wingettes on DoorDash. What arrived was my chicken with MIXED VEGETABLES no collards or rice and peas and NO WINGETTES. Never got a courtesy call to inform me of things being sold out if that was the case. Luckily, DoorDash was able to issue me a full refund.

2022-01-07Im only giving this place 3 stars because the owner is nice and accommodating. My daughter likes the fried chicken, rice and yams. Personally I dislike everything Ive tried on the menu. The whiting is tasteless, the shrimp was fried too hard, the mac and cheese tastes like a box mixture and very artificial. The greens are OK AND SO IS THE RICE AND PEAS. If you want a decent meal, this place is ok. If you want good soul food, youll be upset you spent your money on this.
