Brought my friend here for flu-like symptoms and shortness of breath. The receptionist was polite and efficient and took all the information quickly. Despite the empty waiting room we did have to wait about 10 minutes but no big deal. The nurse who dealt with my friend was friendly and funny and sympathetic. The doctor came quickly once we were in the exam room and immediately administered an asthma treatment. She ordered an X-Ray to make sure it wasnt pneumonia. The X-Ray technician was nice and friendly. The facilities were very clean and new. All the supplies were neatly labeled and full. There is even a pharmacy on-site. We were happy with the level service we received. I wonder if it had been busier if the wait would have been longer as it seemed there werent that many people on staff. However it could have been that we were there at 4:30 in the afternoon so perhaps it isnt a high traffic time.I wasnt expecting it to be as good as it was considering the other reviews here but our experience was good and Id come here again. I thought everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and gave good service. The only reason I gave it four stars is the visit took a while and we had a lot of waiting Inbetween the treatment and X-Ray etc., but all-in-all very good service.
I arrived at the Urgent Care Center with a tumultuous headache and I was blown away with the excellent service and cleaniness of the place. The receptionist was very courteous and professional. The nurses were professional and courteous. Dr U....oh my gosh he was superb. My entire visit was about an hour! My headache was about 2 out of 10 when I left.Way to go Brookdale. Excellent service!
Arrived at the urgent care at 8:46am, so I can be there before it open for 9am. There was one person in front of me a lady with her 2 children were seen by Pedestrians. I was next for adults. The patient care tech came out seen her friend waiting which was maybe number 4 after me called her before me. I complained to front desk staff, I was told that I was registered 2nd and thet will now go to the back to see what happened. Staff told me that they forgot to flip me to arrive which I know is a lie because I do registration in the hospital where I work. I explain to another staff member what happened, other patient care tech tried to lie and cover up for staff member (PTC) whos friend was put in front of me. All the staff was running for breakfast once they arrived to work instead of attending to patients. The doctors also coming and going to get their breakfast. They dont know whos urgently sick they just pick and choose who they want to take that so unfair. This is one of the reasons hospitals in community get bad reviews, because the staff is horrible. Business need to stop hiring West Indian people because they have too much of favoritism for their own country people instead of being fair and treat everybody the same.
HORRIBLE!!! I get there at 3 pm the lady at the desk said the doctor stop registration because she’s the only one there and she has about 4 patients to see. I said I’ll come back, do you know how long she will open up registration again? Lady said more than 2 hours. Smh so i come back at 7 pm lady at the desk going to say oh she’s finished for the night i forgot you said you was coming back. I’m confused now because if the place closes at 10 o’clock how can she be finished at 7pm? Worst experience ever never going back there again 😡🤬
I have just had the worst experience at Brookdale Urgent Care, after having my child diagnosed with the flu at a Pediatric Urgent Care; I attempted to access services for myself at Brookdale Urgent Care. The facility closes at 10:00PM, I arrived at 9:10PM only to be told by the Filipino “gentleman” that the Doctor’s / NP’s don’t see patients after 9:00PM. If this is the case then say that on your website or have security disclose this to potential patients as soon as they walk in the door.I will never and I mean never use this services at this facility ever again. I firmly believe that healthcare work is a calling. Healthcare workers should be at their best, when patients are at their worst.Unfortunately, Brookdale Urgent Care has lost a customer and the other folks that I will share my experience with this site. They shouldn’t bother sending a customer service survey to me. I fully intend to give them the worse rating possible. If I could provide half a star on this review, I would do so. Completely unprofessional and unkind. This facility wants to be considered a part of #Vital Brooklyn? or #One Brooklyn Health? Piss poor service to say the least... 🤬😷🤮🤧🤒
I usually do not write reviews but my experience at this urgent care was by far the WORST experience of my life. I do not have a primary care doctor because I rarely get sick. Last week I woke up and the left side of my face was extremely swollen, stiff and in pain. I was also feeling nauseous and dizzy. I decided to go to Brookdale Urgent Care because I didnt think the issue was something that need emergency services. Upon arrival the receptionist told me to write my name down and have a seat. After waiting over an hour and a half, a nurse finally called my name to take my vitals. While getting my vitals taken, I was crying, literally snot running down my nose because of the pain I was in and not one of the nurses that saw me asked me if I was okay. Talk about insensitivity! I then when back to the waiting area and sat for another 3 hours before my name was called. At this point I was frustrated and in an obscene amount of pain. I was told to wait in room 3 where the doctor would be with me shortly. I sat in the room for another hour before the doctor came in. At this point, Ive been there for 5 hours! The doctor, finally came into the room, said his name and asked what was wrong with me. No apology for being extremely late! I show him my face and instead of washing his hands, he takes his dirty fingers and squeezes my cheek. He then tells me that I need to go to the emergency room because I need a doctor who can cut into my face and drain out the pus before it go to my eye and infects my brain. He said that this matter was so urgent that he was going to call an AMBULANCE. Now if any of you know, Brookdale Urgent Care is directly across the street from Brookdale Hospital Emergency Room. I responded and said, I am not going to take an ambulance across the street to be billed $1,000 when I could have just walked. He responds, oh you dont have Medicaid? For him to assume that I had Medicaid was completely disrespectful and uncalled for. After telling him that I had private insurance, he said he would recommend me going to another emergency room. I left the center hysterical and frightened, believing the lies told to me by the doctor and went to Methodist Hospital. I received the BEST treatment there. The staff were friendly and the service was timely. I saw a doctor in less than 30 minutes upon my arrival. After telling the doctor what the urgent care doctor said, she couldnt have described him any better; the equivalent to webMD. It turns out that my situation was not as serious as the urgent care doctor made it seem. No incision was made into my face. I was given antibiotics and told to do hot compresses and it worked! Within two days I was back to normal. I will NEVER go to Brookdale Urgent Care for assistance ever again. Their service is trash and the doctor that saw me probably brought his degree online. In a case of an emergency I will travel to a CityMD or Methodist where I receive great service.
By far the most unprofessional and disrespectful medical staff I’ve ever come across the Jamaican woman at the front desk is so unpleasant and nasty. The fact that there are several reviews all saying the same thing proves that this wasn’t an isolated incident or an employee having a bad day. BLACK WOMEN DO BETTER!
Friendly staff, never waited over an hour to see a doctor. Had a severe asthma attack, emergency room was overcrowded, so I came here. Got several breathing treatments, took xrays, and steriod shots to ease it. If youre waiting over an hour at an URGENT CARE, and complaining (when the emergency room is directly across the street), then you need to be making your way across the street. Both facilities are connected, and the ER can pull up your info from the visit at the urgent care (if youre worried about starting over). Unfortunately, my asthma would not let up, so they offered to call an ambulance to take directly across the street, and I declined. I crossed the street, went thru the front entrance, told them I was just across the street being treated for asthma, and requested a wheelchair to wheel me to the ER... Simple. My info was already there, and I sat at the ER for FOUR HOURS, but left feeling way better than when my morning started. Make sense for YOUR HEALTH, not your convenience!
Got to this location at 5:30pm only to be told that I would have to wait a while to be registered because The Doctors order the front not to register anyone else until further notice. They would not give me a time frame. They’re is a woman just sitting at the desk eating who could not answer any questions. The second time someone spoke with me at 6:10 I was told again it may be a while. Help me to understand how is this giving care to patients. This is horrible.
Only come here if there’s no better option. The people at the front are unbelievably rude. Don’t get a job in customer service if you don’t know how to speak to people.. especially those in need of your help. They also move incredibly slow. I’d highly recommend Methodist Hospital Emergency Room as an alternative.
It’s completely sad that if you want great care you have to go to white peoples neighborhoods. As I was being registered in, the woman was multitasking and registering me and having a full blown conversation on her cell phone. I’m visiting a family member across the st and it’s pretty much the same. If you want decent care don’t waste your time.
If you can avoid going to this urgent care please do!!!!I had some scratches on my neck and I wasn’t sure if they were just scratches or fungus. After the first nurse looks at my neck she tells me it looks like I scratched myself after a bug bit me. Now if I scratched myself that hard I’d rememberNow that nurses supervisor comes in....asked me what’s wrong....looked at my neck....then tells the 2nd nurse “he scratched himself it’s not serious” then walked out without a 2nd glance at me. Keep in mind I thought I had some kind of fungal infection on my neckThen the 2nd nurse leaves right after, closes the room door that I’m in without explaining what is going to happen next and I waited confused for about 25 minutes for her to tell me that she’s going to prescribe me antibiotics so that I don’t hurt myself when I touch my scratch marks. So I left and told her not to write me a prescription. However how I found out it was scratches was because of a different urgent care nearby that actually PUT ON GLOVES, cleaned the marks on my neck with alcohol pads, and took a close look at my marks.Brookdales quality is horrible. I literally never write google reviews and I chose to do this so no one goes there. It’s seriously horribly
Went in for a really bad stomachache. I was in there for 2 hours. Finally went in one of the rooms to wait for the Doctor and I can hear Dr.Valdez arguing & yelling with another staff member about a treatment that was given to a kid (violation of HIPAA). Then Dr.Valdez came to my room with her anger and tried to give me a fast routine exam and said nothing is wrong with me and gave me a prescription for Omeprazole, which didnt help my situation at all. The exam she gave me only lasted 2 minutes (I guess she wanted to go back and argue some more). After that horrible urgent care visit I was left with an inflamed stomach and more pain! I went to my PCP and I just told him all my symptoms and without even examining me he knew what it was and gave me antibiotics for H.pylori (what a smart doctor he is)After the Antibiotics the pain and inflammation went away. But as for Dr.Valdez, you need to be more professional as a doctor. If you have a conflict of interest with another employee handle it in private and de-escalate the situation before continuing your job!!
The urgent care is horrifyingly wicked. If I can add negative stars I wish I could. THERE ARE FAR BETTER URGENT CARES THAT THIS ONE! DO NOT GO TO THIS ONE!!! THEY WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND ULTIMATELY REFUSE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH CARE. They take advantage that they are very close to an Emergency Room and PICK AND CHOOSE which patients to provide care for. I am disgusted by the behavior and comments made by the Nurse Practitioner at this location. She refused to provide any care and service simply because she was busy, but HAD THE TIME TO BE ON THE PHONE TO CHIT CHAT! Who does that! What a poor excuse of a medical professional.
I don’t usually write review but I felt that as a parent I should let other parent know how unprofessional this place is . I walk in with my child and I wasn’t given any paperwork the first thing I got ask “ how did you hear about us?” Why does that matter right now if I’m walking in with children? then I got ask what was wrong with my children in a crowded room which I thought it wasn’t anyone in the room busy or even the patient next to me to know then she ask for my insurance & Id and I still haven’t receive any paperwork and I’m getting ask more questions instead of being seen or even any paperwork . When I take my children to modern md I automatically receive paperwork and the staff are more friendly and my medical isssue isn’t a broadcast !
As soon as you reach you enter your name at the front into there data base. Then someone calls you. You go there to get temporary relief until you can see your doctor. Customer service is alright. Environment seems clean and kept together. You go early in the morning maybe thirty minutes to see someone.
After waiting 2.5 hours I was told that there was only 1 physician . The nurse told me to go across the street to brookdale emergency department because she didnt want to take my X-ray and called me an ambulance. I had to wait another 4 hours at brookdale emergency department . This place is very unprofessional and I would not send my loved ones air trust them with my care again
Bass akwards. worst heath / urgent care ever. evenn the stupid fat receptionist forgot to give me my discharge papers despite the DOCTOR coming back twice to ask If I got them. She (fatty receptionist) denied that I asked for them. They were sitting in the printer. For 30 minutes.
Extreeeeeemly long wait! On my way in I called and they said there are only 2 patients in and 2 doctors... 45 mins after signing in they took me in a exam room about 25 to 30 mins later the dr walked in!!!! Worst experience ever! Think of it as the holocoust, never again!
I am disgusted with this urgent care Im in a wheelchair but thank God I can walk a little .I fell and might have broke my foot I came early about 8am they open at 9am i waited with no problem when the security guard opened the door i came from across the street were i was waiting i get across the street i ask the guard for urgent care please he says sorry we cant see you the elevator is broke you have to go to the emergency room Im very sensitive I just wanted to cry if I was in a different neighborhood this elevator would not have been broke Im in the er right now surprisingly the staff are wonderful Im waiting for my x-ray thank you brookdale emergency room..thumbs all the way down for brookdale urgent care..
There is no urgency in care here. The staff is kind im sure, the staff has good intentions however the road to hell is not paved with good intensions..while waiting everyone in the waiting area was complaining a patient even got into an argument with staff the wait is so long its frustrating on top of your aliments. The whole point is to avoid the ER thinking it may not be tht serious but by the time your done you may have made it worse for yourself or child which by the way is why I even came to this place!just avoid this place altogether if you care about yourself!

2022-07-24No rhyme or reason to anything the staff is doing here. We came in on Sunday at 10am (they open at 8am) and they had ONE employee for both treatment and covid testing.Upon arrival there were 3 patients ahead of us, all there for treatment. After over a 2 hour wait, one of those patients left stating she will take her chances at home and try again tomorrow, and we still hadn’t been seen.I went to speak with the administrative staff member to get a more accurate wait time, for a second time, where he informed me that there was still someone ahead of us, however, every single person had some in after us.Let me say that I understand priority in terms of severity etc. this is not the case in this situation. Everyone was here for a reasonable ailment.Horrible patient experience. Terrible communication between staff and patients. You’re better off going directly to the emergency room. Neither visit is free and at least you’ll get treatment in a timely manner.I wish I could give zero stars but, the facility was immaculate so I’ll give them credit for that.

2017-11-02In the vast world of Urgent care in NYC there are so many better choices than the Brookdale Urgent Care Center. One thing people expect from an urgent care center is expedient medical care for minor ailments that don’t quite rise to the level an emergency. This is mainly where Brookdale falls short. When I visited their facility my entire visit took 3 hours. Mind you, that’s 2 hours and 45 minutes waiting and 15 minutes with the NP who, by the way, was quite nice. The reception staff, on the other hand, is slothful and oblivious. When I first entered the center the front desk was abandoned. Rule number one: THE FRONT DESK SHOULD NEVER BE UNMANNED! When the receptionist rolled in 10 minutes later I found her to be sluggish and semi-conscious at best. She never asked me my chief complaint; nor did anyone else other than the NP, but she did ask me if my vision was impaired. I thought that this was a ridiculous question as my prescription lens where firmly affixed to my face. When I asked for clarification she replied, “I’m trying to ascertain if you’re legally blind.” WHAT?!? I will say to their credit; the facility is clean and the waiting area is fairly comfortable. Their wait times are just unacceptable as other urgent cares have far less wait times. Their front desk staff needs to be seriously retrained. Nothing is more annoying when you’re sick or in pain than to watch a group of ratchet women drink lattes and gossip about their co-workers.

2021-05-03I prefer to come here. Once in a while, the wait can be a bit much. But most times everything worked out. Plus the pharmacy in the office is a plus. Depending on the situation, I prefer to come here and use my insurance with no co pay instead of paying a $50 co pay with my insurance at the more mainstream urgent care centers. They do the same. The place is always clean. If I want in and out then Id go to a mainstream office and pay.

2022-01-11Came to urgent care in excruciating pain! The NP gave me a treatment option being antibiotics which I requested!!!. Only for the NP to tell me I had to go to the ER. After waiting for over 2 hours in the ER the very unprofessional doctor that I eventually did see...............prescribed me antibiotics. WOW

2020-02-03Stay away! The most unprofessional ethics and conduct I ever interacted with in my life. I had a painful bump/blister/spot in an intimate area I couldn’t reach I had a $50 copay. Since I waited over 2 hours I limped back to the receptionist and demanded a refund. The receptionist said she didn’t know where her supervisor was.I asked a nurse for a supervisor. She said the supervisor leaves at 6. It was around 5:20 the supervisor should be available. To add to the unprecedented level of unprofessionalism several members were arguing in a vacant room next door. I didn’t know at the time there was a woman as every time She had passed by sh gave a glaring nasty look at me. Not once addressing me or indicating she was my assigned nurse. The way I found out she was my nurse is (wait for it) was the a—-hole of a practitioner. Because of the fact I couldn’t sit up straight I had to lay on my side. I had my phone out to keep my distracted from the pain. This practitioner came in and said “oh you relaxing” (I think she was a st Lucian lady. Dark complexion) then did the unthinkable and ran back out the room to get my nurse. This is how I found out who was my nurse. As I asked her if she thought that was necessary and I asked for a refund over 2 hours ago. She had snapped at me. I told her idk if it’s cut, bump or something else but “again this is far from relaxing” she said okay. No vitals no nothing just a transfer to Beth Israel hospital. Adding to the a-hole score of the practitioner she pulls away one of my ambulatory service escorts (assist ambulance services) brings her into an empty room while smiling and gossips for over 5 minutes. I hold her partner get you partner out here. He looked hesitant. Finally she came out.I tried to call my bank they fought tooth an nail against my dispute. Called my insurance company, and reported it to Jumaane Williams (he is just a media Who— I used to get a ton of mail from him at my Brooklyn house now he can’t help me!?)So to sum it up. I regret not taking video of the poor excuse of a nurse and practitioner. I have the transfer paper” and I would like to thank to poor performance of each an every member a interacted with. I got into politics and aim to address the price gouging and unprofessionalism of hospitals and urgent care centers like Brookdale.Fields of medical should not be associated with a profit mentality. These people are here to help, and if they can’t do so or at least have that as a first priority they need to be fired.
