Typical government facility. An Info Desk greets you when you walk in. At this point you are directed to the area you need for your reason for coming. All done very efficiently.
They wont allow people to renew their handicap placards in person. They tell you to mail it or drop it off and figure out where your going to park until you receive your new placard. No consideration for the disable. You have supermarkets open, courts and other buildings and they will only help people who want to get married.

Staff/employees of Town of Brookhaven Housing Authority were helpful, considering all going on with Covid, from the entrance to leaving felt safe
Just had the most Pleasant experience possible at traffic violations Court. The court officer was incredibly helpful and kind. The judge was a sweetheart. Totally not what I have experienced in the past that other courts I was so pleasantly surprised.
Rude and dont answer phones. When they do you get the let me transfer and then they hang up. Crookhaven at its finest!!!
It’s nicknamed “Crookhaven” for a reason. As you can see from my picture below...they really jump all over taking care of their constituents. This road has had an unworkable storm drain for YEARS....they have been notified many times. This town is truly an embarrassment! Would give negative stars if I could.

I think its a really good way of doing business. You make the appointment online go in take care of business and leave.
Cant say that this is a helpful town hall nor can I say I feel valued as a tax payer or citizen of brookhaven. Overall less than mediocre. I lived in nassau and though curroup they did make things happen. Here - unless you own a business no one cares. Guess if we stopped paying taxes we might.
Building Dept. Want to get a permit to put up a sign ti advertise an event in Brookhaven that raises money for charity. The man at the desk told me signs are graffiti and he cant give me a Brookhaven permit until i first go to the county and the state. He was the rude nasty unhelpful, uninformational person. I just want to do the right thing and go through proper channels and he was a complete roadblock. Someone like that shouldnt even be working where he is in a customer service arena and so unbelievably rude. Terrible experience.
The woman I dealt with didnt want to help me for anything.... very nasty... spent most of the time pointing
Negative 100 stars X infinity. Take a day off to sit 6 hours and watch expeditors who admit they have no prescheduled time be whisked in the back with 99 files. A little flow chart concerning who you speak to and why would of saved me days of my life, different answers from different ppl and inspectors....
Fine was up there to vote in and out in under 10 minutes.
First thing I encountered was a food vending truck and other vendors blocking the road and entrance to the main building making it hard and dangerous to get around.
Have both experience- good and bad. Try looking into their website so that you can save a trip for the required documents.

I went to vote at this place today where people were able to keep their social distancing on line. All the process went smoothly.
Went there to vote there was garbage everywhere...you would think they would have someone picking up alarm the garbage from people voting.

Have tried for over two hours to contact Town Hall with no luck, Ive been disconnected 3 time and finally gave up after holding for the last 40 minutes. So I will leave my concerns here instead.The new sanitation company is horrific. Today was supposed to be cans and plastic...we put ours out and I just found the can, still full with a sticker that says unacceptable item. They picked up NOTHING. I was careful to make sure that only #1 and 2 plastics were in there and only metal cans, no glass..so what exactly was unacceptable to this new company?? This is unacceptable and the Town needs to make this right. You switched companies, Im guessing to save money, but you know what? You get what you pay for. If this is the new norm, I believe Brookhaven needs to lower our taxes to make up for the new lack of service. And garbage pick is no better, weve lost two cans in the last month, been here 10 years and that has never happened. Its because they toss the cans basically in the middle of the road. The old company always put them back on the sidewalk. Shame on you Brookhaven.
I came in to get plans reviewed for my basement at 10 am on the dot got a ticket at a machine without insurance of where I have to go since the ladies at counter 1 was insisting me to get a number to ask her how many numbers where ahead of me. Its 1:30pm and Im still sitting in the waiting room waiting on a number people are being put in front of mine, called off work and being giving attitudes and being insulted by the old ladies in the front. WORST TOWN HALL EVER.
Very loooong lines to vote. 3 1/2 hours on line. No water available so bring some. Ugh!

2022-05-18By far the most useless municipality on Long Island - takes forever to get anything done. Staff is rude, departments randomly closed during business hours. Fees are outrageous and for a group of people that are paid by the tax payers they do not act like they enjoy helping or serving their community. The building department in particular is by far the most difficult dept to work with. Get it together!!

2020-10-26Waiting to vote! From 11:30 to 2:30. Crowd was pleasant, my son and I just engaged in friendly conversations with fellow waiters. Inside town hall , very organized! Pizza and water was provided for line waiters by Pizza for the Polls

2022-05-16Town came up my block again and destroyed my 45 year old cedar trees but didnt fix the pot holes plus cut my pines on my property highway supervisor should be fired along with the entire staff over paid public servants what a waste of tax payers money

2021-07-20Town sells garbage collection contracts to lowest bidder such as Total Collection Co. They do a horrible job missing whole sections in my neighborhood. Called town after 330pm as instructed a complete runaround, have had to call Brookhaven four times in 2week span because my section was missed repeatedly. Brookhaven s bargain contract is not a good thing for we the people the tax payers.
