Brooklyn Bridge in other cities:
An iconic bridge and landmark of Lower Manhattan that is a must to visit and walk across if you find yourself in the area.Built between 1869 and 1883 and spanning 1.1 miles this suspension bridge is a magnificent structure linking Manhattan and Brooklyn and is instantly recognisable due to its unique design. The bridge has an incredible history and some interesting stories such as the Manhattan side tower supposedly housing a very well stocked nuclear bunker.Visit the web for more information on the bridge but more importantly go and walk over it to experience some amazing engineering and wonderful sights of New York.
Fantastic place to visit day or night, very safe also. Struggled to find it initially but just head to city hall in NYC and you will find the pedestrian entrance / side walk to walk across. We visited it just after Christmas so it was very busy with lots of local market stalls at the start of the bridge ( Not sure if they are always around, but it was New Year’s Eve Eve ) lots of places to take pictures and selfies and doesn’t take that long to go across and back again. Worth visiting and all for free :)
Beautiful city views, the perfect conversational mile long walk. This is definitely fun New York City activity if your visiting. Heads up protests happen here a ton so do a search before you go. It’s the perfect length for a walk, the floor is smooth. There will probably be some runners on the bridge and people stopping to take pics every now and then. Start off in Manhattan at city hall and check out one of the world best pizza shops. You have Julianna’s and Grimaldis, take it to the park and and enjoy the views!
Finally i went there, Very beautiful bridge in the heart of New York. One of the most famous bridges and an iconic landmark in the US. This is at a walkable distance from the WTC Station. It was awesome!!! Great views and so much to see and do on foot once I crossed the bridge. Very good and amazing place to go. You can find small souvenir sellers at the begginning of bridge.
This was little man’s first trip to NYC at 3 months old. Now obviously he won’t remember this trip and it’s fair to say we had more fun than he did lol.Just to experience being able to walk above the Hudson River on one of the most nostalgic bridges in Americana history will leave you wanting more of NYC.The Panoramic views of Ellis Island, NYC, and Jersey City leaves the mind to have its on internal fantasy of how life could really be if every state was like NYC.We did not feel overcrowded, the people were nice, and the weather was just right. We will definitely be taking little man when he gets older so he can really enjoy it how we enjoyed it.
The most famous bridge in the USA. Longest in the world upon its completion, and one of the oldest still standing. Rather than walking from Manhattan to Brooklyn, I highly recommend taking a blue line subway to Brooklyn and then walking back towards Manhattan. Seeing the Lower Manhattan skyline grow as you cross the East River was absolutely amazing.
One of the most famous bridges and an iconic landmark in the US. This is at a walkable distance from the WTC Station. The views of the city were spectacular. Highly recommended to walk the full bridge to appreciate the architecture and engineering of the bridge and the city views it offers. It was a very happening place. There were lot of vendors selling souvenirs at the entrance to the bridge. The highlight of the visit, however was a lady selling Mango with Chilli Powder - reminiscent of the summers in India.
One of the many iconic spots in Manhattan (and Brooklyn). We came from Chicago and stayed in beautiful Manhattan, however the best way to walk through it is from Brooklyn to Manhattan so you get the view of the city skyline right in front of you while you walk. Amazing landscape for some really cool pictures.During the day you gotta be careful to walk on the pedestrian path so you don’t get on the way of the bicycles that are coming through.
An obvious place to visit if you are in New York and a great opportunity to take a lot of pictures; if you look up the view is amazing but if you look down it disappoints. Its a shame how much trash there is on the floor in such an iconic place and the fact that there are so many people selling stuff. The place was very crowded and disorganized when I went, cyclists had to merge into the walking lanes to be able to cross, my suggestion would be to go at a time when there are not so many people.
A very nice place to hang around . Can take beautiful sunset pictures and at the same time good exercise crossing the Brooklyn Bridge . So many people , be careful with the bikers in their lane .Also, there are many fridge magnets and key chain souvenirs selling at the foot of the bridge that is very cheap $1 each.
If you wanna take a walk staring one of the must impressive views of the Manhattan skyline during dusk, then you must go to Brooklyn Bridge and hallucinate with the sunset just happening background the Big Apple and the evening traffic jam below your feet...I guarantee you will not believe your eyes.. Its better than movies... its real life and its really good!
Brooklyn bridge was a fun walk I’ve never done before it was amazing but it also was very cold and windy definitely paring your heavy coat 🧥 it’s so beautiful 🤩 and the walk is interesting because you can see down to the water is street level so it spooks you for a second when it’s unexpected

2022-04-20Essential route to do it on foot. The metal structure is impressive, a work of engineering, built with rivets. Take the subway to Brooklyn and walk across it back to Manhattan. It is usually very crowded and it is difficult to take good photos. But that doesnt stop you from enjoying the beautiful view.

2022-01-17You can walk there to enjoy the view and the town! Can be very cold in winter with the wind, prepare good clothes 😁. Take about 20 minutes to walk from a side to an other one.Sometimes there are seller of coffee or clothes in the bridge.

2022-06-01I definitely recommend a stroll from Brooklyn towards Manhattan. If you are willing to get up early in the morning on a cloudless day to see the sunrise there you will be amazed. Worth getting up early. Views absolutely magnificent and no crowds in the morning.

2022-04-15The bridge was absolutely fascinating and full of life! There were people from all over on the bridge, creating a great social atmosphere while trying to get your steps in! They have changed the bike lane from the bridge to the side of the bridge, so no more shoulder to shoulder with strangers and accidentally bumping into bikers!

2022-05-16Brooklyn bridge is a great place to know and take some really cool pictures, it gets really crowded some times but thats just people looking for some awesome pics and a great mood. If its sunny you are in for a great walk and just burn that ice cream you might have eaten earlier haha. Overall its great if you are already in Brooklyn or Manhattan to get to know this iconic bridge.

2022-06-16One of the absolute best free attractions in NYC is walking over the Brooklyn bridge. It connects lower Manhattan with Brooklyn and is the oldest, most famous and most beautiful bridge - a NYC icon and landmark.TIP: more interesting is to walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan as the NYC skyline is constantly in front of you.

2022-02-18Breathtaking to look at and I definitely recommend a walk across .We walked from the Manhattan side over into Brooklyn. Takes about 20 minutes. There is a bike hire station right next to it.Once over, we turned a left and a left again into Dumbo. 100 yards on the right walking down the hill is Front At Pizza . Well recommend for authentic Brooklyn Italian pizza.Walk another 10 mins and get a ferry back across the river close to the Staten Island Ferry.Stunning views.
