I have to give a star just to write a review but this place is a negative star in my book…. 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨Do not leave your love one here!!!! No one cares the staff are rude and lazy!!!!My mothers social worker was Ms Oliver has yet answered any if my calls and is never was available to see me.. The nurses at this place are a complete waste of a degree!The place is beautiful but the service is terrible DO NOT GET SIDE TRACKED.The new Director has a ton of work on his hands to make this place match the structure!Best of luck to whoever read’s these reviews
The ONLY REASON THIS place gets One star is because you can see the lack of communication amongst upper management and staff. I admit that there are VERY FEW workers that value their job and care for the elderly well being. I am naming names who are very sincere, caring, friendly and are helpful to me caring for my mom. JANINNE, MRS. MALVO, GAIL, NETTI, And BOTH DOMINIQUES. Forgive me if I cannot remember the other nurses names but you know who you are because we appreciate you. I try to help them the best way I can to administer my moms medications and treatments. Management tries to act like they dont acknowledge you, hardly return calls and pay you no mind. They only care about getting Medicare and Medicaid. I am a very observant person and I make myself known to people and I DO NOT PLAY WHEN IT COMES TO MY MOTHERS HEALTHCARE. The upper management needs to reevaluate their operation and give the nurses a chance to advance if they want.If physical therapy doesnt want to be bothered with you, they will make any excuse not to transport you to the area. These therapists are very sneaky and if its an overweight patient or one that has a hard time, THEY DO NOT WANT TO WORK WITH YOU...DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE!
The rehabilitation center is great they work with you the therapist and there’s more than one I would recommend this place to everybody the nurses here are great they check up on you all the time they make sure your bed and your person are clean with private bathrooms the place has been newly renovated maybe a year and a half two years old everything is new here there are a lot of aids also they go around and ask you if you need anything the physical therapist is either in the morning or the afternoon and you have two different types one that works on your waist down for your knees and so you can walk again and another therapist that works on your upper body strength they are great they give you a little push but that’s to get you better if you have any doubts come down and do a walk-through I have another month here so that I can climb stairs if this place wasn’t up to par I would say so I’m just that type of guy
I entered the center on April 16th 2021 after an amputation for my leg. I must state that the center is a very clean place. Monica ensures her staff maintains a ver clean and hygienic place. In regards to my care Nurse Romulus, Nurse Gail, Nurse Reid and Nurse supervisor Jordanna ensured that my wound was cared for excellently. Administrator Ellie always listened when i advocated for the residents. ms Rabia always went the extra mile to ensure my needs were met. Mr Joseph and Chris always looked out for me. CNA- Malvo always helped ,twins, Pope the two Dominics were also very kind. The Midnight CNA staff were also very kind to me especially Ms. Allen. Ms Felix, Leika and Francis [ Trini] kind persons who showed love to the residents. In all i must say that the center staff took care of me . Clarence wa also very kind ,hardworking and respectful. As a Carribbean person i did not like the food but if i asked for extra salads it was given to me. My stay t the home was positive and i was treated with kindness. I was also quite comfortable. illness is not an easy thing to deal with but the center staff tried their best. All institutions need improvement. My time away from my home was long April 16th 2021 until January 27th 2022. The center cared for me and made my time away from home easier.. I would give the center an [A] with room for some improvement. I had a stroke in 2018 and was at other rehab facilities but Brooklyn Center got me motivated to recover more than ever. The rehab department did a great job, in particular Ezekiel, Peter, Wendy, Clement. The nurses Roxanne and Ms. Alexander were great and the entire staff here is very attentive and pleasant. I would recommend Brooklyn Center to anyone.
My brother is currently a patient in the rehabilitation center. This is his second stint in here. The only reason he is back is because the hospital didn’t give us any other options and forced us to send him back to this place. Don’t bother trying to get anyone on the phone here. They don’t answer and don’t call back. Family member needs to see a doctor? Good luck. Need home health services after your family member returns home? They will make it impossible. They messed up the forms for insurance the last time and we weren’t able to get services for weeks after because they are impossible to get in touch with. Please, if you have another option, do not send someone you love here.
I had a great experience after coming here for rehab after hip replacement. The staff was very punctual and attentive to my needs. The physical therapists Wilson and Long were great and I looked forward to working with them every day. Anyone looking for a recovery center, this is the place.
HORRID!! This place is not suitable for an animal! I wouldn’t send my dying pet there!! From the main door to the lobby it looks like a 3 star hotel at best. Once you get on the elevator the nightmare begins. It’s like something out of a horror movie. The patients are being neglected. You can hear them scream in pain begging for water NOBODY CARES! They just turn the TV volume up and proceed eating chips and fast food.The staff frequently display incompetence, negligence, and a “I don’t care attitude”. The administration is a joke. Extremely biased towards white staff. SHAME ON YOU!! TRULY EVIL!
This facility took good care of my father before he passed and was kind and helpful throughout his stay
I used to work there and had a nice time there. It was a pleasure to work with such a pleasant group of individuals!
My mom almost died there. All they would say was the next shift will take care. It was so bad they realized they had to call 911.

The people who pick up the phone have attitudes and they’re extremely disrespectful. They always have an excuse for not wanting to discuss certain topics and end the call. Most of the nurses there also do not properly take care of the elderly, as I have a family member who is being treated there currently. We are planning on switching him out of that place. The staff there are rude, it’s rare that you’ll find a respectful person.
This place need to be SHUT DOWN!! As each uncaring individual first& last name should be put on BLAST ...You are SORRY, for not taking your job seriously.
The staff was very helpful with my grandpa after his surgery. Place very clean and gramps liked the food a lot. Nurse Jordana would always check on him and call us with any updates. Thank yOU.
This is a place where the dying go to die. The food is trash, staff is rude, and patients are neglected. They are supposed to be open 24 hours but nobody answers the phone. I’d tell you to keep your loved ones away from this place at all costs, but they are dumped here like cattle if there is nowhere else to go.SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN
There were a few nice people who worked here, however, if you care at all about the person in need of care, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. It is a very inefficient operation and incredibly difficult to contact anybody. The place seems like they need more staff to attend to the patients. Also- be wary of the five star reviews below that do not have any description. VERY SUSPECT!

Very concerned and dedicated staff. Sensitive to the individual needs od patients and family members. Available whenever l called was able to retrieve personal belongings of family member without an issue
No one picks up the phone there and whenever they do pickup they hang up without letting me finish. No one calls us to give any updates about my mothers health and situation. Very poor communication with this center.
It was a very good hospital, it is a shame that the hospital closed like that. I was going to the hospital for 40 years. It is bad when the higher ups steal money from a hospital. Their mother or father should of been there when it closed again a damn shame. We miss you St Marys hospital thats why they can not tear you down, thats GODS work let the building stand. They cant touch it thats great. SEE WHAT GOD DID YOU CANT TEAR IT DOWN. PEOPLE INVOLVED SHOULD BE ASHAME ON CLOSING THE HOSPITAL.

2022-07-07My father was admitted to this facility in April and left in June. This was the worst experience for my father and my family.The facility is beautiful, but the care provided is questionable. Patients are sent to the hospital without an escort. My father left from the hospital and left wandering the streets of NYC for over 6 hours without a coat. When he was located by the police and returned to Brooklyn Rehab, they never called the family to inform us that he had been returned by NYPD.It was very difficult to speak to staff regarding the level of care being provided. When I called to speak with the social worker or other staff assigned to care for my father, it was very difficult. My father laid in the bed for 2 1/2 months not eating, diabetes out of control, and other issues that they could not identify. It took 2 months to finally get a diagnosis. He went into the facility walking on his own, he left using a walker. Most facilities allow family members to visit with their loved ones on Sunday, not this facility. This makes absolutely no sense. People are off on the weekends and Sunday is usually the time when one can come and sit with family members. Not at this facility.I removed my father from this facility against medical advice. In two weeks, his blood sugar is controlled, he is not walking with a walker and eating everything in sight. I truly believe if I left my father in this facility, I would be planning his funeral. Again, all of this has occurred in a 2 week period. Today, I received a call for them to ascertain how he is doing. That is ridiculous. They waited 2 weeks to get an update.I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I pray that you have a better experience than we did.

2022-03-31My experience at Brooklyn Center has been improving since Ive been here.I would like to 5 star to all departments except for dietary I give them 1 star they definitely need to work on it. Yolanda has been very good to me. Also would like to thank Pricess she makes sure Im clean and I have right food. Shes always and willing help me. Also Ms Reyes she been very helpful and truthful the way she asks me my likes and dislike. I like that I can to talk to her if I need anything.

2022-06-28My husband enter this rehabilitation center unable to walk and having major lung issues. As the days went by I became more and more convinced we made the right choice. His stay was beyond words can express. The staff on his 7th floor was amazing. From the doctors, CNA staff, Nurses , cleaners , social worker, everyone went beyond and above my expectations. I will advice anyone who want your love one to recover and be taken care with respect, love and kindness to use this center. Every time I had a question and call or email, I will get a response right away. Now my husband is coming home toady 07/28/2022. I will like to say thanks you to all that made his stay a pleasurable and relaxing two months. He is walking and breathing on his own. Also special thank the staff in the rehabilitating unit and the dialysis unit. I can go on so happy🙏❤️❤️❤️👍

2022-03-30I had a wonderful time with the Rehab Center. Someone had suggested to come to Brooklyn Center and Im glad they did. The therapy department was wonderful. If I needed rehab again I would come love to come back. The only suggestion that I have is that I wish they had Sunday visitation open. God bless you all.

2022-05-09My experience at Brooklyn Center has been very good everyone treats me like family. My english is not great but they tried to help me. They are very good people nursing was really pretty. They treat me like a baby they never say no to help me. Very honest staff never lost a penny. Physical therapy was really good Rosio and Mahmoud. All of the staff was really good. Food was not the best and it needs improvement. Jordana and her team are fantastic.

2022-02-09I don’t recommend anyone to bring their family members here please be aware of all these 1 star reviews because they are absolutely correct.My grandma had died yesterday In this place and I was told my grandma was in a lot of pain specifically on her chest and crying for help and no one came even when she rang the button to get a nurse to her room and she was very much sick and throwing up but decided to take her to the hospital last minute when they found her unconscious and her pulse very low and we was told she passed away. These people didn’t do their job correctly and let her died in there.they didn’t do what they was supposed to do and didn’t take care of her,please reconsider going somewhere else because this place is horrible.

2022-02-21My fiancé has been at the Brooklyn rehabilitation center located on 170 Buffalo Ave. for the past month and I can honestly say his treatment has been subpar. He is not receiving the medication needed in order for him to get better and some of the staff is unresponsive when he comes to his needs. His request to treat his wound has sometimes gone unanswered for hours Or days where his needs to be addressed every day. Despite the numerous discussion and concerns with the administrator Miss Oliver, it has not been corrected —she even chalked it up one time as being homesick. He has requested a transfer from this facility Because he feels that he will Die due to lack of attention and responsiveness. No one should feel that way after experiencing such A traumatic event. I hope this facility can turn around and be the positive influence that it should be especially in the neighborhood it is in. Also one note the food is absolutely terrible. Everything is beige and either under cooked frozen or rancid. How are you expect people to recover when they don’t have proper nutrition?! On the weekend the food is even worse— one Sunday it was just a spoonful of powdered eggs on a plate nothing else was given. Again I hope this message goes to the appropriate channels so a change can happen. I will not email the facility to describe anything else as I believe I have covered this in this Google review. Do better Brooklyn Rehab!!!!

2022-06-23My grandmother was recently admitted to this center, and like everyone else here is saying the area is lovely. I stepped in and immediately was lost for words. But, with anything, theres always a downside. First, the individuals that work there do not do their job efficiently. My grandma was left in her adult diaper for hours on end. We requested someone to help her multiple times, and they kept saying, we will come back. Next would have to be the quality of the food. My grandma did not eat for four days because the food was horrible. Everything is either hard, mashed, or overall unbearable. Causing me to have to bring her a home cook meal.

2022-02-18I have been to this location 3 times to visit a friend. They are short of staff but they are also extremely neglectful. They will have patients sitting in a chair or wheel chair for nearly 6 hours out of the day in pain and screaming to use the bathroom. They do not special accommodations even when it is recommend by the doctor. The rehab is minimal although they have a top tier space and equipment. it seems like they have a theory that the less it is used the longer it will last. Ms. Oliver runs this facility as an administrator and is un-responsive to resolve issues that arise. She clearly avoids problems that can be resolved quickly. She agrees to meeting at a specific time and then takes a lunch break at that time leaving the patients and their relatives for hours waiting for her return to only to learn she has left for the day. I will agree that the cleaning staff as the facility is very clean of the ground floor. It is quite clear they rely on the 2-4 highly qualified nurses and/or CNA that are also caring but the rest clearly come to work and then hide for the rest of their shift. I would NOT consider this location for anyone after a serious injury or operation. The food is below sub-par. The quality is so bad and tasteless. You can tell everything is microwaved in the worst possible way and thrown on a plate as if they were in prison. Unless the cook is from prison...it makes sense. But when the rice is not cooked properly and the chicken is still frozen and the frozen peas and carrots smell rancid...there is a problem. I have spent many hours visiting my friend over the last month and this is not the best care he can receive. He has made several requests to be transferred out but the administrator, Ms. Oliver cannot be found to sign off on the paper work.

2022-05-26The cnas did very good at what they did. Always there for the residents. Never heard no disturbances between them. Therapy department willing to work with me I wanted them to work on my arm a little more but overall was good and beneficial.
