I made a reservation For 7. However, I had an extra party that made it 8. Because my party was significant, I was forced to order from a prefix menu-$125 per person that did not include drinks. While I was okay with the $125 person, I had an issue with their prefix since the menu was limited. It was my birthday. I wanted to celebrate my birthday way but not theirs. I could have walked out; I wanted to walk out, but it was after 10 pm; everyone was starving since we had to wait for about 2 hours for a seat; not the restaurants fault. To make matters worst, the waiter served alcohol to a minor who was 17 years of age. She did not ask for ID. I learned that my child was served an alcoholic beverage after the bill came, and I questioned the additional drink.Nonetheless, I asked the waiter if she knew she had given alcohol to a minor- she asked me if I wasn’t aware she ordered the alcoholic beverage. I dont understand how she expected me to be mindful while its her job to check for ID as per the law. She took no responsibility for not asking for an ID. I need management to investigate this issue right away or else I will take a Complaint to the Liquor license board.
The food was mediocre I came here to celebrate an occasion. Its the same location as previously was Dennys. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and it came with white rice. It was ok. Ive had way better at some mom and pops Chinese spots... my friend ordered the $90 steak and that also came with white rice. The drinks were alright I had the mango martini and later ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 frose that was actually the best part of my experience.
This was just a couple pics of food, it was a birthday dinner party so tons more food came out and everything was delicious! Our Waiter as well as the staff in general was very nice. The ambience was lovely as well. Id totally recommend this venue for a dinner date or group dinner. The place is also very clean and sanitary, would definitely go back again!!
Omg!!! Brooklyn Chop House has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants! Why??Number one the cozy atmosphere! It gives chill neighborhood vibes with an upscale mixed crowd and usually some celebrity spotting.Number two is my new favorite cocktail the Lychee Froze which is a combo of perfectly frozen rose with lychee juice one is enough to give a nice buzz.Three is most importantly the awesome selection of food!!I love dumplings and they have quite a selection The Philly Cheesesteak, The Rueben and the colorful Pacman dumplings are my favorites!Of course the chicken satay is a must have appetizer in a creamy peanut sauce they come 3 to an order and I can down 2 orders myself!! Lol.I love the Sea Bass and the Salt and Pepper Prawns too !!I love it here!!! A +++++
Visited BCH for the first time for my birthday Oct 28th, had a wonderful time. The vibe, the decor and most importantly THE FOOD... was of the chain! Our server Bukari was attentive and handled our every need. Never did we feel as if we needed to search for help making our adjusting our order. I had the 24oz NY strip medium and the duck tacos. She had North Atlantic Sea Bass and we shared some soft shelled crab fried rice. Everything was perfect, and they didnt even know it was my birthday until my wife let it slip. I try to avoid the celebrating in a restaurant, but our server Bukari - ever attentive - came with a sparkled slice of red velvet. Perfect night, thanks Brooklyn Chop House!
This spot is great. I loved it. It is a little pricey but the food, service and atmosphere were top notch. I sat at the bar and chose to go with the house made dumplings and small plates. The pastrami dumplings were the best. I highly recommend. The short ribs were good too. The bartender was good. He gave awesome recommendations. They definitely pay attention to detail. The bar was a good place to watch sports. I hear you need a reservation on the weekends. But all in all I highly recommend but they are pricey.
I made reservations here for Christmas dinner for my family. Being from out of town I always seek out black owned businesses to patronize when I visit cities. When we arrived the atmosphere was amazing the customers were diverse and appeared to be having a great time. It was everything I wanted for my familys Christmas dinner. However, that was the best this restaurant had to offer. It took a while for the waiter to show up and when he did he acted like we were bothering him, like we should get our own drinks especially when he realized we werent going to be drinking alcohol. We ordered right away because 3 of the 5 of us were my kids and they were hungry. While we were waiting for our drinks we were visited by a bug on our table, which my husband was very discreet in getting rid of. Obviously at that point I wanted to leave but where would we go on Christmas day in NYC?! I have lived and visited places like Charleston, Paris, and Montreal to name a few where pests are part of the cost of doing business because of the tight spaces and sheer number of people who live and work in those tight spaces but never have I had to kill a roach before I ate!!!!! When the food came it was just okay and again the waiter was no where to be seen when we had questions about our food. Also, we never received refills on our drinks but I noticed he was very attentive to the tables where alcoholic drinks were being ordered. After dinner my kids wanted dessert and I obliged them given it was Christmas but it took a while to order because the waiter was again ignoring us. The best part of this experience were the auxiliary waiters who were always nearby and if they spoke better English probably would have helped us more.
One thing about Brooklyn Chop House is I will be coming back again. I had made reservations here got here early and was accommodated at the time I’ve arrived which was so amazing of them. I was lucky this day, I found parking right in front of the restaurant (Thank God). The drinks were amazing the food was amazing the staff was friendly. This place is nothing but great vibes. I sat outside the weather was nice wind had a mild blow which is what I like and sun was shining. This day was just absolutely amazing and I’m coming back again.
Absolutely loved Brooklyn Chop House (not in Brooklyn but near the bridge on the Manhattan side). I made a dinner reservation for 4 on a Friday night, and we were late. They still sat us with no problem. When we arrived the front door staff checked our ids and vaccine cards. Then the hostess sat us once we were all cleared. We ordered a lot! First the vibe is dope! GREAT music. If you like the latest hip hop, reggae and Afro beats - you will love the music. It’s louder than most restaurants but that made it more lively. Our waiter was fab. He was on point with his suggestions and service. We ordered the lobster salad, rock shrimp, salt and pepper twin lobster tails, hot and spicy shrimp, Cesar salad and short ribs. The cocktails were strong and worth the price. We weren’t going to order dessert because we had a lot of food leftover but our waiter surprised us with the cheesecake and red velvet cake. HUGE portion. Both were delicious. Very diverse crowd and staff too which is something I prefer and look for. I highly recommend! We spent $380 with tip. Worth it!
I went to Brooklyn Chop House on my birthday! It was an amazing experience. We did the pre-fix menu as there were 11 of us and everyone had an incredible time. Everyone loved the food and some said this is the best steak house they have ever been to. The managers and staff were very accommodating and went above and beyond. I could not have asked for a better birthday celebration! Thank you!
Congestion at the reception area screamed 🚩 But honestly the wait wasnt long since we had reservations which I strongly advise having. We were ushered to our seats 10 minutes after checking in and thats when the experience started. They actually had me at the aprons. But to top it off my server Kim (male) spoke French and sold us on a few fantastic options from drinks, to small plates, to main course, to more drinks. We never once felt rushed and I love, love when a waiter just senses your needs.I can go on and on about the food but Id leave it at. I cant wait to go back. Also rememeber to bring your checkbook. Good things arent cheap.
OMG! Wow Wow Wow! Im literally here right now typing this review as I wait for the bill. Let me first start off by saying that this restaurant is absolutely my new favorite place to eat. The food here is absolutely breathtaking, and the drinks are to die for! Today was my first experience (fathers day), and me and my family were in the hands of an amazing woman by the name of Jillian (The General Manager and Waitress). She took impeccable care of us and I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Ill be here many more times because the menu had so many amazing dishes that I have to try!! Special shout out to the owner (Mr. Don Pooh) who is an incredible genius for creating such a creative, universal and versatile establishment. Seriously, this place is GOALS!! Best restaurant in NYC, hands down!!!
My experience was bittersweet. The manager Ken was amazing and did everything possible to make my husband and I feel comfortable and not have such a long wait on a busy Saturday night. The food was good but my problem is my waiter by the name of Baukary N. He took it upon himself to alter my receipt and tip himself a hefty $60 on top of the cash tip he received. I contacted the restaurant and spoke to a different manager that told me my money would be refunded and they were sorry. After patiently waiting 2weeks for my money I reached out to my bank to receive my funds. If you go to this place use cash because who can say how many other times this man has altered receipts for his benefit.
Is there a different chef for take out?We ordered takeout based on the excellent reviews and photos. We were extremely disappointed. The 16oz filet mignon was offered only medium rare. It arrived well done and not quite the size of a 16oz filet. The wonton soup which cost $9 for a small container had wontons that had been sitting around as the skin had areas of darkness consistent with being dried out. The beef and noodle dish was coated with so much oil we couldn’t finish it. The fried rice was very dry. The quality of the food was average at best and not worth the money we paid. We just moved to the area and had hoped this would be a regular stop for us but we won’t be back.
I’ve debated if I wanted to give this place one or two stars. Most of the food was OK, but mainly just tolerable. I wouldn’t want to eat anything again except the pastrami dumplings. What really brings this score down is the horrible service. Reservations don’t mean anything. I read previous reviews about this but I thought maybe those people came on a holiday or some unusually busy time. I was wrong. We waited almost an hour past our reservation time for a table for two. The hostess was very nice and tried to get us seated as soon as she could. But then, our waiter didn’t even greet us for another 25 minutes. As someone who worked in the high end food service industry for many years, this place is super disappointing.
Awesome atmosphere, nice bar with a lot of seating to wait and have a drink while you wait for your party and table. Gets crowded and loud, but if that is the vibe you are looking for your ok, the appetizers are delicious, and all entrees are really good, went with a large group and ordered a bunch of different dishes off the menu and we all picked on everything. A lot of birthday celebrations when we went perfect place for group dinners. Good service and very attentive.
1 beautiful atmosphere. This is for the lovers. 2 easy listening to R&B 90’s music. 3 drinks are delicious. Must try the Lychee Martini. 4 My husband said he had the best steak of his life. 5 the staff was friendly and welcoming. I’ve never seen such beautiful smiles. You’ve created a great place!
What a restaurant looks like when they everything right. The reservations process was simple, the staff friendly and knowledgeable , every bite perfect and an culinary experience you dream about. The drinks were outstanding and I look forward to coming back to try more on the menu. 5 stars.
First thing first we had a reservation for 830pm. And still had to wait a hour to be seated. People that were walkins had to wait a hour. So what is the sense of a reservation if the sit time is the same. Food was okay and came out about 20 minutes after we got seated. So the time ordering to food getting to you turn around wasnt bad. We also ordered cake and that came out pretty fast. So if it wasnt for the reservation and still having to wait that long.
Ambiance is great. Had a reservation for my anniversary and was seated right away. I had the surf and turf with shrimp fried rice. My husband had the lamb. Steak was cooked well. I wasnt a fan of the lobster which made it hard to justify spending $189 for the meal. Husband enjoyed the lamb. Id definitely go back but not for the surf and turf. Id probably stick with the steak or just something new.
I made reservations for 7:30pm however, sat down at 8:45pm. Asked the host every 20 mins for an update until the manager Ken helped the process. Received complimentary glasses of champagne. There is little to no space for waiting so you’re literally standing on top of one another while others are eating. Overall l, the food was absolutely delicious and the service from our waiter was pleasant.
The atmosphere is nice and everyone is extremely friendly, however the food was not what I expected. I have heard wonderful things about this place, but I just wasnt impressed. I ordered several different items on the menu and needless to say, my drink was the best. Maybe I will revisit to give it a second chance.
I went here to celebrate a birthday. First time there and lets just say I dont get they hype. The service was regular our waiter was fine not overly nice not rude just fine. The atmosphere was dark a little to dark for me. The food was not good. I wouldnt go here again.
I normally don’t leave reviews but I have a few things to share. Pros: beautiful looking restaurant which drawn me to give this place a shot .Cons: I ordered chicken satay and what threw me off was the meat was red and it did not taste good.I also ordered few other appetizers and they were just okay.Ribeye steak was very well cooked and the mashed potatoes were very good. The staff was great!!!
Made reservations prior to arriving. Was immediately seated upon arrival. Hated the seating. Plexiglass divider may have helped with COVID, but didnt help with the proximatey of the person(s) seated next to me. Felt like they were dining with me and my wife while having our date night. Table for 2 felt like a table of 6. Service was ok. Waiter was a bit stiff. But servers were great. Fried rice was amazing. Soup dumplings were outstanding.. like little bursts of awesomeness on your tongue. I ordered steam bass as my main. Asked them to crisp the skin if left on. They sent a plate of fried fish. Dazed and confused.. but Didnt bother to send it back. Was ready to leave our table anyway. Didnt want to wait any longer. Taste was good nonetheless. Portions were nice. Didnt order dessert. However, I guess because we were sitting so close to others, dessert was delivered accidentally to our table. They asked to leave it since they could no longer give it to the other table. Red Velvet cake was ok. Despite the issues, I would likely go back but be specific about seating.
Coconut Mango martini is superb, Fried Lobster was out of this world, The porterhouse was everything from the Flakey salt to the crust it melts in your mouth of course depending on how you like yours cooked... Duck was amazing and crispy. Chicken fried rice and lobster fried rice I must say competes w/ nyc Chinese takeout spots and I finally understand why they’re we’ll known for their dumplings! You want to show your lady a good time in an intimate setting this is the place dont be cheap! It’s worth every penny!!!!
The best experience pop style and the most customer oriented treatment , customers are treated at utmost respect thats what I have encountered and I will , parking vallet guy was exceptional to the waiter , food was exceptionally great you name it from the time I met people around. too good will host again with top celebrities out there... thanks again
I was taken here on a date. Wonderful atmosphere, the music is also nice! The food was okay. We had a later reservation closer to closing. I ended up leaving behind an item on the table and called back about 20-30 mins later and was told they couldnt find it, but im 100% sure I left it there and the tables where we were sitting was empty when we left. Seems apparent that one of the staff stole my item briefly after we left as they cleared our table. Sucks because this is a black owned business. Love to support. But we probably wont come back here.
Came here to dine by myself. The hostesses were so nice and friendly. I was sat at a table by the bar. I waited for 25 minutes for someone to ask if I wanted water and a drink - the place wasn’t busy but maybe they thought I was waiting for someone- fine. While I waited a busboy left the watering pitcher at my table and another bus boy came over and was using the candle to light every table. It was like I was invisible to them. I got my glass of wine and had a couple of questions about the menu, I told her I needed a minute. I waited for 30 minutes, when she came back she was annoyed and so rude. Meanwhile she took care of either table to my left and right while I tried to get her attention. I asked for a new server because I wanted to have a peaceful night and someone who wouldn’t forget I existed. I waited another 20 minutes and by the time the new server came over I got the check because at that point I was over the place. I definitely wouldn’t return. I mentioned it to the host as I left that I should have sat at the bar (which was my initial intention) she apologized. Two managers were standing at the door and one of them was texting. They could have cared less that I had a poor dining experience. I’m giving two stars because the hosts were incredibly kind along with the doormen. But I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 10 plus years and you could get better service at McDonald’s
I had to go there twice before I left a review. This restaurant has a highly energetic nightlife scene (so make a reservation EARLY), but it was laid back early evening, after work vibe that I prefer personally. And being that I was able to go twice, I had excellent service from both Jake and Jay. They were both very professional, funny, and friendly, and gave excellent recommendations. The manager or GM Tony was also very charming and accommodating. Brooklyn Chop House also took social distance and sanitization very seriously with plexiglass between all parties AND sealed their plating, cutlery, and stemware/ glasses with plastic until ready for use.Now THE FOOD 🤤🤤🤤👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾AMAZING!!!!! But Ill let the pictures speak for itself. However, do yourself a favor and order the lychee martini! Youre welcome.
This has been one of the BEST restaurants I’ve been to in a while! Service was A1 (s/o to the waiter Rodney, he’s the bomb.com). Food was A1 even though I prefer the Lobster Wontons>Lobster Dumplings but to each his own. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because we were seated under a tent with no heat ventilation as opposed to the one with heat! But overall, this place does NOT disappoint, it’s def worth the hype and I’ll most definitely be back! 💯
Listen. This place did everything right. From the hiphop/ R&B music selection they play, the drinks, the services and finally the food. Everything was 20 out of 10. I wasnt sure how they would pull off an Asian fusion steak house but they did. My gf took me here for my birthday and we had the lobster fried rice, dumplings, and steak. The flavors were amazing and Ill def be back. No pics of the food were taken b/c it was that good and I was busy eating. Highly recommend.
I wanted to give this a great rating because the food is pretty good, but the service was appalling. They charged for a fine dining experience, but what they provided was nothing more than you would expect at an Applebees- honestly you can’t really even compare it to how other restaurants are because they were so rude. Not only was our server so delayed and kept forgetting about us — but a waitress came up to our table to tell us that we needed to leave because there was a 90 minute limit. We never were aware of a “time limit” and it was absolutely the rudest thing I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. I’m also so sorry she did that after we paid the bill, because with her doing that, it ruined the whole experience. I wouldn’t have tipped at all considering how rude that was.If We are spending our Saturday night somewhere and spending good money to have a good time, then at the bare minimum I want to be treated with respect and not to be kicked out because of a time limit—— ESP since the waiter was soooooo late and slow with everything! We didn’t even get a bottle of wine or dessert or anything to make it longer than it needed to me.I’m disgusted by this place and I think they owe me and my boyfriend an apology for this atrocious experience. Would absolutely never come here again.
Had one of the best rib eye steaks Ive ever tried at this restaurant. As an Asian American, I particualrly enjoyed the Asian fusion concept as Ive never gone to a steak house where I could enjoy a steak with traditional white rice as a side. Note that white rice is the complimentary side it seems with most entrees. My wife went with the spicy shrimp which she said was good.We ordered the Philly cheese steak dumplings to start but didnt taste anything cheese steak in nature. They were still good so Im just not sure if thats what they were supposed to taste like or if the waiter got the order wrong. We also ordered the short rib bao buns which were pretty good.It was a shame that the AC was not working in what was the hottest day of the 2021 summer but it wasnt terrible in the restaurant, just a tad warm.I enjoyed the music and ambiance of the restaurant. Definitely more trendy then more traditional steak houses.Overall Id like to go back and try some other dishes and would recommend this restaurant to people. For the 2 of us, without alcohol, our bill can up to a little over $210 including the tip.
1st going on was a nice random Sunday afternoon for lunch and it wont be our last! This restaurant is on the more pricey end but the environment/ staff is upscale, food/drinks are amazing, service was phenomenal, also you get warm towellettes at the end of your meal(Super Fancy)! Like oouu, ahh..lol. Definitely worth a try!!
Writing this 5 minutes after leaving. If I could give negative stars…I came here after hearing about the Cardi b/offset tip story. We only got drinks and appetizers and then the rest of our time (30+ minutes) consisted of busboys and waiters ignoring us and avoiding eye contact. The food was overpriced I was so glad I didn’t swallow my pride and harass more than necessary to order some low tier steak. This is a prime example of why black owned restaurants are avoided by black people.
My friends and I came here for a birthday, we all really enjoyed ourselves. Ill honestly say I wasn’t disappointed aside from one little hiccup. The vibe was amazing, food was tasteful. I was so hungry I didn’t get to snap a picture of my meal. Everyone had ordered something different so I was able to enjoy a little bit of everything. However the little hiccup I feel the need to mention, why I didn’t give a full 5 star rating; My friends were taking pictures and someone apart of the staff told us we needed to stop just incase someone complained about the flash from taking pictures. It baffled me a little bit because wouldn’t you want pictures taken in your establishment to promote the wonderful times people do spend out. We were a little taken back, put our phone down and continued our night. I would go back I’d just won’t promote that I’m there moving forward if there is truly an issue with taking pictures.
Didn’t have the best experience. We waited over an hour for appetizers to be served. We weren’t allowed to have our cake for my moms birthday because they refused to cut the cake. Mind you this dinner was planned well in advance. We booked reservations selected a prefix menu and all. The bill was over $1200 and I wish I would have spent my money elsewhere!
This place has its own personality. The ambiance represents how an upscale black restaurant should be ran especially during this pandemic. I was impressed by the security at the door, the hosts, the wait staff and the food was absolutely amazing. And you will receive very generous portions which you probably will not finish unless you’re starving. It is priced accordingly. If you come to the city of New York you have to visit this place. Classy, urban, and delicious. PERFECT!
Best best time here!!! Bacari our waiter was outstandingHe was polite…friendly and didn’t pressure us… the food here is sooo good… everything we had was good which was the satay chicken, chicken Parmesan dumpling, pork fried rice, braised short ribs with noodles, duck taco, lamb dumpling… my drink was the tychee martini AMAZING!!! everyone there works together and ate in sync with one another… i was never in need of anything.. my new favorite restaurant.. we will definitely be back.. and we only want bacari as our waiter lol
The food was excellent. The service, however, was not. We went to the Times Square location. The server never told us her name but I believe it was iyanna or something of that nature. She had orange hair. Worked on the first floor by the restroom. She was more concerned about talking to her Co worker with blue hair than checking on her tables. We had to repeatedly ask the runners/bussers and managers for our waitress. She did not deserve a tip. The bussers were more helpful & attentive than she was
Absolutely loved this place ! The vibes in the restaurant felt so warm and welcoming. I adored the dim lighting and the table set up, it all went together so well. All the dumplings were amazing especially the lobster and impossible dumplings. The entrees were just as good and I loved the fried rice and bok Choi dish they served. The desserts were spectacular the red velvet cake was my favorite hands down.
BrooklynChop House is one of my favorite places to dine. The quality of service never decreases, even during COVID. It’s easy to run up a tab, but they have shareable portions and the food, service and overall experience is worth every dollar spent! This a great place for dates, family dinner, girls night out, and private events!
My boyfriend, daughter and myself went to Brooklyn Chop House on June 19th,,the service was horrible. We sat at the bar for some food and drinks. Linda our barmaid was new, 2nd day. She didnt write our orders down, and she forgot my boyfriends food. She asked us 4xs do you hear me 4xs what was his order!!! Meanwhile they bring out my daughters and I food , which my lamb chops were burnt and stuck to the plate. My daughter finished her food and they still hadnt brought out my boyfriends food. When i asked for a manager and said we should be compensated, Linda began arguing with me, and said the only thing she could do is give us a free round of shots, which we did not drink btw. I said no his food should be free! The manager NEVER EVER SPOKE WITH ME! My bill was $290,,which was fine we were prepared to pay, but for the service and them bringing his food out along with the BILL after our meals ,rather my daughters meal was completed was out of order. I was visiting from Cleveland,Ohio and this place will forever leave a NASTY TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS. The establishment is beautiful but the service was HORRIBLE. SO SO VERY DISAPPOINTING
Food was ok. $18 Martini was Weak 😒Definitely on the pricier side (Higher priced Chinese Food)It was 85+ degrees at night and their AC Unit was Not working so it was HOT and the food could not be enjoyed. Nothing was offered for the meh experience, but instead we had to Ask over and over. ....Had high Hopes for this establishment but.... Would Not Return or Recommend
You want some GOOD food? Here is a place to go! Wonderful fusion of American, Steakhouse, and Asian cuisine. The Filet Mignon Beef & Broccoli(seen here) was so scintillating, I was mad when it was all gone! The staff is absolutely incredible and the ambiance is comfortable. If youre ever on Nassau St. in NYC, This is a satisfying stop.
So I was a tad bit late to dinner with my girlfriends, but I must say Im very grateful that they didnt start without me! My first bite were the french onion soup dumplings and I absolutely loved them. Im pretty sure they ordered one order of each dumpling on the menu, so I cant quite which others were my absolute favorite, but I can also tell you I loved the truffle flavored dumplings! The pacman seafood dumplings were so adorable too. The chicken satay was a great addition to the table as well - I loved it. We ordered the salt and pepper lobster, fried lobster, the peking duck, and the dry-aged porter house for 2 with a side of lobster fried rice and regular rice. The Peking duck was absolutely delicious. The chef cuts it right in front of your table. It was JUICY and amazing. The porterhouse was so juicy and tender as well. I brought the bone back for my pup and he was working on it for about 30 minutes himself, thats how good it was! I preferred the fried lobster over the salt and pepper, but then again, who doesnt love anything fried more than anything in this world haha. Now the desserts were phenomenal. The chocolate cake was so rich, the red velvet was so smooth and the cherry on top were the crispy apple wontons. On top of it all, our waiter was literally the best. Couldnt have asked for better service. And they were funny too. Super attentive and just so helpful with everything.I honestly cant wait to come back again soon and try other items on the menu.

On Point. Food Temp.. On Point. Family of 5.. Reasonable Bill.. Cant Wait to Go Back!!
I surprized my girlfriend here for dinner to celebrate her 25th birthday and it was our first time at this restaurant. We had reservations for 8:30p and made it on time. The service was superb. Gave me an invite only vibe like we were celebrities. Once we were seated, I was already impressed by the table set up. Plexiglass to separate tables, plastic wrapped plates & utensils, and a contactless menu QR code. I loved the atmosphere and ambiance. Very sexy, dimly lit, and music selection was dope. Jillian, our waitress, gave us the perfect rundown of what the restaurant had to offer since this was our first time here. For drinks, my girlfriend had the Red Velvet Frozé and I had the Sour Diesel. It took us a while to decide what to order because everything looked so good. For our appetizers, we ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger Dumplings, Lobster Spring Roll Dumplings, and the Chicken Satay. Our favorite dumpling was the Bacon Cheeseburger and I loved the peanut sauce that came with the Chicken Satay. For our entrees, my girlfriend ordered the 16oz Filet Mignon (grilled medium well), I ordered the Steamed North Atlantic Bass, and we both agreed on the Soft Shell Crab Fried Rice to share between us. My steamed bass was good, but I enjoyed my girls steak more. Our waitress checked in to make sure we were good and was enjoying our meals. She ended up informing us that we were getting a new waiter because it was time for her shift to end and she was leaving. Which didnt bother us. We just hoped our new waiter would also be good. And he was good. I wasnt able to catch his name, but he still made sure our needs were met. When it was time for dessert, I informed our waiter that we were celebrating a birthday and asked him for the Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake. My girlfriend loved everything about this restaurant and it made me very happy that I made the choice to come here. Next time Im here, Ill try the Pac Man Seafood Dumplings and the Peking Duck. With that being said, I really loved this restaurant and I would definitely come back again and go down their menu to try different meals.
This is such an amazing find! These dishes were my most favorite and I even went for seconds haha. The red velvet cake was definitely the perfect dessert to a perfect meal!I cant wait to come back to try their other dumplings & steaks
Out of control how good this place is I was feeling like a celebrity in the VIP section with my crew.🤩Dumplings selection that goes from French Onion Soup to steam edamame just Woww your tastebuds.55 Day Dry Aged Porterhouse for Two was so tastyBut completely different chapter for me was the juicy Pekín Duck carved in the table by the chef.Just cherry on top for an outstanding dinner.Let me no forget to mention cocktails have mango spicy margarita an was 👌🏼Definitely coming back to celebrate my birthday there
Brooklyn Chophouse is an upscale modern Asian Steakhouse (a fusion that I am ABSOLUTELY here for). It is located across from City Hall in lower manhattan. It’s very easy to get to from either borough whether you decide to drive or take public transportation. The decor is super chic. The restaurant is divided into sections which is great for large groups, Sunday family dinners, celebrities coming in for lunch, or just the girls hanging out getting drinks at the bar.The staff and service here is top-notch. Honestly, everyone I walked by that worked here said hello (which sounds silly but that does not happen). A huge shout out to our server Jay. If you are there on a Sunday, hope and pray he’s your server because he’s the best.At most restaurants there’s usually 1 or 2 things they are known for, I think BC is known for several dishes that are absolutely delicious and not mention Instagram-worthy. One of the superstars here is what they call the LSD (of course not the drug) the Lobster-Steak-Duck combo. Order this if you are with a group of 5-7 people (it’s a lot of food but it is something dreams are made of). The “L”: a SUPERB lightly fried lobster (I’m a huge seafood lover and have always questioned frying a lobster but it is absolutely worth a try). The “S”: steak is a 45oz porterhouse that is dry aged for 45 days. If you think this is just chef-talk, do know this really makes a big difference. The steak was so juicy and delicious it ranks up there with some of the best steaks here in NYC and Vegas. And the “D” is a Peking Duck that had me in my feelings. It was so good. It’s legit. It stands up with the best of crispy skinned duck slices you’ll get in Flushing.I can’t forget to mention the dumplings. I’m still a bit shocked I’m questioning going back to a steakhouse for dumplings but I’ve been telling all of my friends since I’ve dined here that we have to go here for the Lamb Gyro dumpling and the French Onion Soup dumpling. I’m still craving the lamb gyro dumpling honestly. At the first bite I was transformed back to The Halal Guys truck on 53rd Street. I think food should do that to you, it should create and take you back to good times. On the list of other must-tries here: Pastrami Dumplings, Philly Cheesesteak Dumplings, the Pac Man Seafood Dumplings, the Lobster Fried-Rice, Peking Duck Tacos, and Chicken Satay sticks.Cocktail suggestions: Brooklyn Old Fashioned and the Lychee Martini. I’m not a huge fan of Lychee Martinis but this one was creamy, not too sweet and packed a hell of a punch.Once dinner is over and you have enough room for dessert, go for the Red Velvet cake. I like red velvet cake so I’m biased, but this cake from Brooklyn Chophouse will turn non red velvet believers into believers! It’s that damn good.I’m already trying to plan my next meal here once the city shutdown is over.
**Reservations are very important here for dinner. If you walk in, there will be some waiting. And if you are late for your reservation it will end up pushing back your seating. Please be mindful of the hard working staff and management and rest assured that they want everyone to have the best experience possible. but within reason. My party and I all arrived at different times. There is a seated waiting area that we were directed to. The place is quite high end and there is apparently a space in the back that is only for celebrities and VIP. Their names adorn a wall engraved in gold plaques. There is a curtain as well for their privacy. Unfortunately no celebrities were in the building when I was dining in.After all the members of my party arrived (six in total) we were seated fairly quickly. The staff was very courteous and attentive throughout our visit. At one point the owner Stratis came by the table to greet us, which was an unexpected surprise. He told us a little about his inspiration for the menu items and it was good to hear things from his perspective. It was difficult to choose as everything sounded so good. We decided on some dishes that we all wanted to try.Appetizers:Pastrami dumplings were quite novel as I have not come across this combo before. One of my favorites.Cheeseburger Shumai was another inventive combo. Very tasty.Impossible Burger dumplings had the well known plant based filling that really looks like meat. Not bad at all!Lamb dumplings are a rare menu item. The district flavor was apparent with each bite.French Onion Soup Dumplings...aka Xiao Long Bao (XLB)When I first heard I had to make sure I heard correctly! I know of no other restaurant in NY that has French Onion Soupy dumplings. XLB in general had become very popular but this taste profile was on another level.Chicken Flat Noodles with Bean Sprouts aka chow fun. Those very familiar wide noodles but we made a slight modification and asked for no protein. It was definitely a great appetizer. The Chicken Satay someone has mentioned were supposedly very good. The dish arrived and the skewers were covered in a very rich peanut sauce. So good! It was most certainly one of the stars of the food show that night!Sweet and Sour Eggplant. Crispy goodness as it as served fried (tempura style). Eggplant is one of those vegetarian dishes that when prepared just right, is quite a treat.Lobster Fried Rice!! This disappeared very quickly to say the least.Maine Lobster. Steamed and seasoned so deliciously. You have your choice of salt and pepper or a ginger and garlic seasoning.32oz Dry Aged Tomahawk Steak (bone in)...this type of luxury steak was a nice treat for us. 30-35 says dry aged and gluten free. The meat came to the table cooked rare and was seasoned very well. This is one is their very popular items but of course one of the more pricier options.7lb Peking Duck...a well known staple for those who travel to Chinatown of course. But we were quite a bit far from that area so it was a nice surprise to see on the menu. The prep at BCH is no joke. The bird is slow roasted for approximately 45 minutes in the oven. Then it was brought to our table whole and then we got an extra privilege to see head Chef Li plate the pieces. I am normally not a very big fan of this duck style but it was very crispy and delicious. For anyone who has ever had Peking Duck, they will like this a lot.Now onto dessert!Hot Apple Wontons accompanied by ice cream. A very unique dessert akin to apple pie a la mode.Peanuts butter cake - for anyone who is a fan of Reeses Butter Cups this is the one for you! A slice of peanut butter heaven.Sorbet - we were given the flavors or lychee, fuji apple and red grape! It was a very refreshing dessert we all enjoyed. The final piece of dessert that we tried was their Red Velvet cake. It was a perfectly cut slice that was so moist and delicious. There was some red velvet doubters at our table but once they tasted this cake they realized that they have been missing out.
EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious, super friendly staff, top notch service, and creative menu with lots of scrumptious options. what else can I ask for? The manager Danny was very welcoming and made sure everything was fine throughout the meal. The waiters are top notch!! Thank you Timi Gashi and Gregory!!! Even the owner stopped at our table to make sure all was perfect! They made us feel special! We will be back again soon!! Highly Recommend! A+
The establishment is really nice I’m confused by the way the African American guy acts at the door I thought I was at a night club I traveled to NYC for my fiancé’s birthday made reservations here at the newest location upon arrival we stood at the closed doors confused upon what to do an African American guy approaches is his 1st words were “no shorts” he needs to leave to change and come back” wait a minute your tone we have reservations “okay you can go in to change them he stays out” the conversation carried on with this man being so rude I shared with a guy on the inside that appeared to be management as well that the website needed to state these things eventually my fiancé was allowed in but I was sure to let them know we didn’t need to stay here to dine and I’d be leaving a review it’s not what you say but how you say things and with a guy like that he needs to be cleaning the restaurant after hours his attitude really sucks out server was fantastic though the lamb chops were really good as well but I’ll never dine here again when visiting NYC
Okay I vaguely recalled hearing about this place, but never had reason to be that far downtown. Well a reason presented itself.I must say the experience was everything that was anticipated, outside of minor bumps (their washer was off and we had to send tableware back). But the staff was super accommodating and attentive. The food and cocktails were out of this world, our group ordered a few tapas and shared a couple or entrees.Lobster Fried RiceSpicy 9 Season ShrimpBraised Short Ribs of Beef24 oz. Bone in Dry Aged Rib EyeScallion PancakesPeking Duck Tacos PlateChicken Lettuce Wraps PlateGinger Beef with Scallion NoodlesCocktails:Cucumber CoolerLove PotionLychee MartiniSuffice it to say this is a new favorite spot and Ill have to find reason to be that far downtown often. Or at the least Ill need someone to treat me, they are slightly pricey but so worth it .
I loved the service and they did an excellent job setting up tables with plexiglass, plastic wrapped plates and utensils, and fairly distanced booths. Great music and atmosphere and it seemed like everyone around us was celebrating something. The food was serviceable but not amazing, but we also ordered their Asian small plates. While the bao were solid (moist, flavorful), the duck tacos were dry and the lobster “spring rolls” were only warm and not crispy. The satay tasted nothing like satay - more like red colored chicken on a stick in a sauce vaguely reminiscent of peanuts. I have heard their steaks and more “American” fare is much better so I would advise staying away from most of the Asian menu. However, overall I would definitely still recommend the atmosphere, service, overall experience.
Went here with my brother for lunch. Its right next to City Hall Park and Pace University. The food was excellent, but I gave it four stars because the service was a bit slow and the medium rare steak requested came way too rare. Other than that the food was good. My burger was a triple decker and delicious. The soup dumplings were ok but, not like the ones you can get in China Town. I highly recommend the sorbets for dessert. They are absolutely made freshly and I would return to just have them again.
Great from upon arrival and departure. The host was great, full of personality. The security guards were funny and polite. 2 black men. Amazing entertain us while we had to wait. We made reservation and had to wait about 45 mins to an hr. Its pointless to make reservation and have to wait. They need to have a seating time frame like other restaurants do. The waiter was good and the food and drinks was great. Ill definitely go back.
Listennnnn this place is everything,I had my birthday dinner there on may 7.. and I was so pleased like really pleased. Had one issue when we first arrived, but because my good friend new the owner he gave us the first rounds on him.and that made me say I’ll be back.. the food, the dranks, the music just the whole atmosphere was beautiful.. I really loved the lamb chops 😩 and a special thanks to server jhi6h
BCH, Went to celebrate my Husband 45th, birthday. I would like to visit again only because of the waitress we had. She was super friendly and very attentive to us, at all times. She also had a few great suggestions for us to try, which we did, and she did not let us down. We order the Philly Cheese steak Dumplings, that was good, the chicken satay was o.k. (nothing to write home about), the pastrami rolls which my husband enjoyed. We enjoyed the wedge salad, and the cream of chicken soup was decent. The MAIN course were also good, we had the Crab friend rice- delish , the 24oz porterhouse for 2- which was cold upon coming to our table, the salt and pepper Sea Bass which was hot and tasty, the broccoli - which was bland, the onions and garlic which was o.k., and lastly our drinks. The lychee and fruit punch frozen drink was delish. The issue I had, would be the carry out part of the experience. the take out CONTAINER ARE HORRIBLE, I mean plain CHEAP. PAPER BOX containers. WE HAD 6 TO GO containers and it was terrible packaging. My food leaked out, the au-ju from the Porterhouse was ALL GONE. THE CONTAINER WERE NOT CLOSED AT ALL. Therefore my food was not secured or concealed properly.so to have paid $500... with TIP, ( Which we tipped generously because the waitress was amazing ) she did deserved it, I was GREATLY DISAPPOINTED to see what a mess I saw once I got home, opened up the large BCH bag to see my food opened and spilled.I would appreciate a re-do.
This restaurant offered one of the most exquisite meals Ive had in FiDi! A friend of mine had been raving about trying out Brooklyn Chop House for dinner. I was hesitant at first since I stick to restaurants that offer halal options, but since they had an extensive seafood menu, I decided to give it a shot. Walking in I could tell the that the dining experience was going to be quite unique. My friends and I were greeted by a friendly host followed by the manager, Philippe, who was incredibly welcoming and sat us in the VIP section as our party was large (where past artists/celebrities have also dined). The ambience and decor was amazing, with many attentive and charming staff members catering to each of our specific needs. We started off with a few veggie and seafood options which included:- Pac Man seafood dumpling (so cute)- Steamed Edamame dumpling- Scallion Pancakes- Lobster Wontons (yum)Our main entrees included:- A three pound fried lobster- Green spinach shrimp- Sweet and sour jumbo shrimp (my favorite)- Bok choy + broccoliAll of the seafood items on the menu tasted super fresh and each dish bought out completely different flavors. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or even just to impress your guests!
After waiting 2 years to dine here I am overjoyed. Well worth the wait, (including the one outside to sit down) the service was exceptional. I love that they keep the dishes all sanitized and saran wrapped until you sit down. The drinks were delicious (and strong). The food was everything I knew it would be. Absolutely lived up to the hype. The salt and pepper calamari was amazing. The Rib eye was perfectly cooked, tender and so full of flavor. The steak sauce was really good. The Beijing chicken was really tasty. And all the portions were well worth the price points. The chicken satay was really good, but not as peanutty as satay should be, (delicious though) dumplings were awesome and the Red Velvet cake they gave us to celebrate out 30th anniversary was absolutely Devine. 😋 We will definitely be back. There are so many more dishes to try 😀
This place is a wonderful experience. The staff is very polite and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious from the dumplings to the fried rice. The drinks are delicious and strong. I tried the lychee martini which was yummy. It was the perfect mix of coconut milk, lychee flavor and alcohol. It even had actual fruit to go along with it. I definitely have plans to come back here! Its too good of a place not to.
At first I was super confused about what the name stands for... Now I do know but its still somewhat odd because the name means a Steak House really.... But then its also a word play on a word chop hence the half of the menu being Chinese not even Asian... We had a full array of dishes and I must say the only favorite is chopped chicken and lettuce wrap..Even though our waiter J (Jay?) was a nice guy he forgot a few items we ordered and he wasnt attentive at all.Additionally, which I hate the most, they brought our entrées while I WAS STILL EATING MY APPETIZER!In my opinion the place needs refinement... Were probably going back to try out their everyday $10 per cocktail happy hour days...
All I can say is severely overrated. I have heard about this place for some time and my girlfriend was seduced by a talented social media team but the food was in a word... Underwhelming. If you are going to spend nearly $400 on a dinner for 2 at a steak house, the least you should expect is a sizzling hot steak when it arrives at your table. Granted, a 48 ounce porterhouse is an impressive sight and a LOT OF MEAT. It was clearly aged well and came out cooked medium rare as requested but it was not hot, it barely had finishing salt on it, the sided were lobster fried rice (more like essence of lobster) because it was very scant in terms of being anything other than just rice. The thick cut bacon was a pretty decent side but its hard to mess up bacon, and the lobster dumplings were divine not $400 divine but I digress. The best part about the evening is that the staff is very well trained and treat their customers very special. I wish they took that level of care when preparing their menu. Certainly wont be back.
Went here for the soft opening and I think this place could be the IT place over the next few months. The owner (Stratos) was one of the owners of Phillipe in midtown so he obviously knows what it takes to make the dining experience something special. After speaking with him you can tell he takes pride in what he does.Decor is cool, without being over the top. More of a cool low key vibe but the food definitely is not defined by the vibe. All the dishes we tried were original with a emphasis on the appetizers which takes most NYC staples and puts them in dumplings (French onion dumplings anyone?)Entrees including the steaks were cooked to perfection and the drinks and liquor selection were on par with some of the best restaurants around. All in all a place I will most definitely be back to. Well done.
Terrific! For the lunch special of $25, you get French onion soup dumplings, entree and dessert. Great deal. The dumplings were out of this world good! Very fresh and the soup dumpling was on point. I will have to go back again and try out some of the other dumpling offerings they had. The burger was also top notch. It’s up there with one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Very juicy and flavorful.
Great in every sense. I only tried dumplings this time and every single one I had was delicious. Had the Apple crumble dessert which I recommend highly but not for those with nut allergies as it has pecans. The ambiance of the space is amazing and the staff (particularly those at the bar) are so nice, they made me feel like a regular which is exactly what I plan to become. One of the few places I can absolutely say that I truly love.
Amazing experience, Awesome food and Excellant service. My waiter J was soooo nice. I had the Beef and Broccoli with shrimp Fried rice, the beef was so good and tender (soft like a marshmallow my boyfriend said). I cant wait to go back my waiter made my first experience an Amazing one.
Great times. Great staff. Genuine, fun and welcoming. Food is good. Some dishes better than others. Drinks are good. The $10 shelf has quality liquor that is better than the well. The well liquor is pretty good as well. I have eaten at the bar and table. Service is good. For those who care, people that society deems as worthy to be recognized by the masses frequent the location. Come for the food and drinks. Stay for the hospitality. There are also 2 waiting areas where you can drink and dine as well. This review is based on frequent Sunday to Thursday evening visits.
Gathered here for our annual secret Santa reveal!! Sipped on one of the best lychee martinis Ive had at the suggestion of a fellow diner..thanks sis!!!. our waiter was friendly and attentive...the food offerings that I did have were good...Ill be back to try the steak!!
Love the atmosphere. Very dimly lit and sexy. The service was excellent and the appetizers were delicious (especially the cream of chicken and mushroom soup). Didnt care for the Spicy Nine Shrimp but the drinks were great as well as my surprise cake for my birthday. Will definitely revisit and try something else on the menu.
The lunch special steak was great servers were good but they didnt keep track of the items coming from the kitchen, one item never came and several items came late after the main course. The liquor selection and wine was excellent! I would definitely reccomend the Brooklyn Chop house and would go back again. Hopefully with better service next time!
My daughter gave me a surprise birthday party here! It was great! The drinks, the service and food...lovely! They make great, great steak here! We forgot to take pics of the food because We were to busy enjoying it but here are two of my favorite staff members who made my night unforgettable!!!
Where do I begin?? It was our wedding anniversary and we made sure we made reservations and told them how important it was. 8pm reservations we get there at 745 and outside the door theres 20guys like its a club to get in, we get in and are told they are so busy we need to wait maybe grab a drink at the bar which has people eating their meals..we ask if we can grab a drink at the outside tables till our table is resdy..sure she says! Took us 20mins to get a drink outside then finally at 915 after Im not hungry anymore our table is ready ! AND STILL NO SORRY NO FREE DRINK NOTHING..WE ARE MADE TO ORDER OUR APPS AND ENTREES BECAUSE THE KITCHEN IS CLOSING SOON. The food is garbage all the dumplings tast like mystery meat. Sorry but if I could give this 0 stars I would...recelbrqting our anniversary next week. Ps we didnt even get desert.
Great location & ambiance with attentive staff. This was my first time at Brooklyn Chop House & I enjoyed myself. I had a lovely dinner comprised of philly cheesesteak dumplings, salt & pepper lobster wontons & chicken satay for appetizers, spicy kung pao chicken with soft shell crab crispy rice & broccoli in garlic sauce for my entree and their homemade mule to drink, delicious.
I must say Brooklyn Chophouse has a wonderful cuisine and my tastebuds were thoroughly impressed..when I finally was attended to. I was so disappointed in the quality of service is such an eclectic looking restaurant. I literally waited 25 minutes just to finally be offered water for the table and then our table was ignored again for another 10 minutes. To the point where I physically had to leave the table and get a drink at the bar and watched the supposed server looking bored standing by the bar and she asked me how im doing as I caught her eye and I was just in shock with her non chalant attitude. When she finally came back to our table it was just to tell us shes not serving us anymore and threw someone named Daniel on us as if she couldnt be bothered. Thank god she did that because he was a breath of fresh air and he made up for what she was lacking. Overall, its hard to recommend anyone as I am not sure if the service has improved, im hoping that was an isolated incident but it surely didnt leave the best impression on me or my best friend that dined with me.
My brother and I came here and seriously indulged, we LOVED it. The atmosphere is lovely and super aesthetically pleasing, the staff is so friendly, gave great recommendations and were very accommodating.Their specialty cocktails Smoked Boulevardier, This Side Of The Bridge, and Brooklyn Old Fashioned are to die for, we started out with their Bacon Cheeseburger and French Onion Soup dumplings and its honestly hard to pick my favorite of the two- they both kept us coming back for more. Their Bacon Cheeseburger had some extreme cheesy goodness that I couldnt get enough of while their French Onion Soup was filled to the brim and we were so tempted to order more. For our entree we split the 24oz Bone In Dry Aged Rib Eye that they paired with a delectable steak sauce. The steak literally MELTED in your mouth, Ive never had a steak so delicious before. We had their sorbet to top it all off, it was so delightful it put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.
I spent my birthday dinner here and I was very s pleased with this selection. The ambiance was perfect and the food was out of this world! So tender and cooked to perfection the veal steak is highly recommended. The sides were big enough to order two and feed a table of 5. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. This has been my best meal experience by far on a 5 day trip to NYC!
I got my parents a substantial gift card for their anniversary. They finally used it in October. They went for an earlier reservation, no wait time. They had a 3 courses and drinks. No photos because you know.... parents. BUT they said the food was ABSOLUTELY delicious. My mom had the short ribs and had to tell herself to stop lol. Their waiters were super nice and I am so glad they had a great anniversary/ birthday date. They deserve a nice day out after the pandemic. Thank you Philippe for making it special! You are the best! 💗💗💗 Definitely will recommend!!!
What an interesting experience. With the name chop house I was expecting a higher end traditional steak house establishment. Brooklyn Chop House has some of that but with an Asian flair. Their signature dumplings were interesting, we had the Philly Cheesesteak which was okay but no real sense or taste of a Philly Cheesesteak. The dipping sauce was good though and provided flavor. I had the Sea Bass entree which was very average, my date had the sweet and sour chicken which was good but a little heavy on the sauce. I think on our next visit we would order sauce on the side and wed have a hit. The real winner was the pork fried rice, it was outstanding, I would highly recommend to anyone. It was packed with flavor, and fresh vegetables, very top notch offering. The best part and what will most likely get us back sooner though was the dessert. The peanut butter cheesecake and the rum cake were on point and incredibly satisfying. I would seriously stop in for just desserts and coffee. The staff was very friendly and restaurant nicely decorated. Overall a very good feel and vibe, we will definitely return. Thanks for a great evening!
I am loss of words , all I have to say is this Restaurant is a must . You have to try it , right off the BROOKLYN BRIDGE, head over to BCH. Try the Dumplings , Chicken Satay and the Steak and don’t forget to thank me. Forget all those other Asian Cuisine Restaurants and go try this.Ambiance- 10/10Service - 10/10Parking - GoodluckWiFi - Not SureService Animals- Not SureReservations- YesMust Try’s - Dumplings , Chicken Satays , Porterhouse for 2
Even with a reservation they made all of the guests wait outside in a line during 40 degree weather. My girlfriend and I ended up waiting 15 minutes freezing outside only to get checked in at the door and wait another 5 minutes for them to clean the table. We were then walked to the tiniest table imaginable. It was in the middle of the walkway and appeared to have been placed their due to over booking. My girlfriend asked if we could change tables and we were told we couldnt. We didnt even bother ordering. I immediately secured a reservation at Mortons. The whole experience was such a mess. Never coming back here again. You would think for such an expensive restaurant, they would have better service. This almost ruined my anniversary date night. Honestly spend your money at another steakhouse who would actually value their guests.
Food was alright, good appetizers. I gave this place 1 star was because of the service me & my guests received. i had a birthday reservation for 9:30pm. was not seated until 10-10:10pm because they were “getting the tables ready” then they shut off the heaters & the lights for the outside seating at 11pm. all of our food & deserts weren’t even completely out yet so we all felt rushed,it was cold as well without the heaters and for the amount of money this place charges a customer should never feel this way. To make things worse one of my guests over heard our waiter saying “okay this is ridiculous can they leave already” on her way to the bathroom just because we asked him to split the drinks from the main check ??? what type of service is that ? don’t bother with the hype its not there. better service at ruth chris or some other steakhouse or chinese spot down the street.
Came here for a birthday party. 18 of us. Paid $200 each in addition to the open bar covered by the birthday guys. Food was ok. Prepicked family style. The lobster was really good. Everything else was just alright. Had 8pm reservations. Our area wasnt ready. We ate a little after 10pm. The wait staff was very attentive and kind. The hype is overrated. Its definitely a whos who spot. But I dont know whos who.The security puts up cones so you cant park until you pay them $20 for what would be free street parking. Definitely not interested in this place unless you want to say I ate where Mary J. Blige and Tarjaji Henderson ate. I never mind paying for good food and a good time, but you can dine elsewhere for a much cheaper nicer place in NYC .
I had the salt and pepper fish and it was good but a tad bit too salty. The strawberry margaritas were tasty and the mashed potatoes melt in your mouth. The food was so good my friend and I came back the next day. Lol. I look forward to visiting again the next time Im in NYC.
This is an absolute must visit restaurant in Brooklyn. Tony one of the Managers was absolutely great. Very friendly and welcoming. My server Rodney was quite pleasant. The entire staff was very professional and helpful. I didnt have a reservation and they accommodated me and my party with grace. Oh did I mention that the food was awesome. I had the vegetable fried rice with bejin chicken and I must say I could have had the rice by itself and be totally fine with that. Great job guys.
I arrived to the restaurant with 6 friends and we immediately noticed that we loved the vibe of the place. It had such a romantic feel to it, with the dim lighting, and the old school R&B tunes playing. To drink, I ordered a red velvet froze (which tasted a bit like it was freezer burned). My friends ordered a Sour Diesel, which was good, and a margarita froze, which wasn’t too bad either, and a Lychee Froze, which was also good. For dinner, I ordered shrimp fried rice, which arrived in a big tin can. It was so delicious, I’d definitely order it again. My friends also ordered a 24oz steak, which costed $89, with a side of the garlic ginger mashed potatoes. I have to admit the steak was really good (with this steak, there’s no way we could split this check evenly, lol). They also ordered Ginger Beef with Scallion Noodles (amazingly delicious and very flavorful, probably my favorite dish), Kung Pao Chicken (which is good), a couple Caesar Salads. For dessert I tried the apple wonton which came with ice cream. It didn’t do what it was supposed to do for me, so I returned it. Also ordered was the Apple Cinnamon Crumb Cheesecake, which was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. All in All we received great service and the food was delicious. Would definitely return to this establishment.
2 stars for staff. Our waiter and security up front were nice. The food was not. Too simple for the price. Not seasoned well. The philly cheese steak dumplings were not exciting. The drinks were watered down. The garlic mashed potatoes were weak. Best part was the steak. I could’ve spent a lot less for that.
I went there for the first time for my friends birthday and I was so impressed. Our host J. High was amazing!! He suggested our drinks, appetizers and dinner and we loved everything he suggested. VIP service. I was so impressed I went again with my husband for my birthday but I was very disappointed the second time. The Service and experience was horrible. I won’t be returning.
Went for a friends bday dinner. Had reservations but still had to wait an hour to be seated which was confusing. However I mainly judge a restaurant on the food. I am a big foodie so that’s all that really matters to me. Ordered the 24oz steak and was throughly disappointed. The steak was warm at best and completely bland. I’ve had better steak at chilis which is saying a lot. For the steak to cost over $70 they should really try to make it taste good.
Extremely disappointed. I was there to celebrate my cousins birthday. Her daughter was there and dancing to the music. The security came and told me that it was not a club but a restaurant. I was disgusted at the sexualization of a 4 year e. I had to no problem having her sit down but to compare a child dancing to the club was a beyond disgusting. The waiter and assistant manager came to apologize. However, when we went outside the security guard was still talking about my baby cousin. Clearly he was not apologetic as the assistant manager said. After spending $700 there in one night you would think that there would be better customer service. I would NEVER return. I have never been more disgusted in my life!
We loved Brooklyn Chop House! The meats are so tender and incredible. The duck was one of the best things I ate while in the city. It was so tender and moist. My young son even gobbled it up! We also got a filet and salad with a pastrami dumpling to start. The cocktails were also creative and tasty and the staff was quite friendly. The vibe is very fun and hip, even on a Sunday evening. I cant wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!! Its a must try in the city.
Went here for the first time for my sisters Birthday. Atmosphere is amazing and the decor is A1. The food was delicious, the philly wontons, sushi, fried rice 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. We enjoyed the majority of the food that was presented. The one thing we didnt care for was the fish they made in a wine sauce. Another thing is that its a bit tight, but nonetheless- I had an amazing time.
Nice atmosphere, decent food and poor service. After first being seated the waiter came over and we asked for a minute. A minute turned into 20mins and it was a different waiter. The original waiter completely ignored our table but that was his lose because we tipped very well. The service is really lacking, waiters are inattentive, you constantly have to request them over.We started with the reuben and cheesesteak dumplings, which were ok. The cheesesteak dumplings could have used a little more cheese. For the entree we had the porterhouse with shrimp fried rice and broccoli with garlic. The dinner was good minus the fried rice being mushy (I had better at a take out spot).I would go back because there are other items on the menu that I would like to try but they really need to step their service up.
Booked a reservation in December for Valentine’s Day and I call to confirm and if possible to change the time and was told I don’t have a reservation! I was suppose to call in for Valentine’s Day to make a reservation on the phone and leave a deposit!! How am I suppose to know that !? They just canceled my reservation no phone call just email with no reasoning!!! Now I have no dinner plans for Valentine’s Day thanks a lot
I had the opportunity to visit Brooklyn chop house over the weekend for my friends birthday dinner. It was a very easy process to make reservations and the restaurant even had it setup where we received a reminder of our dinner the closer we got to the date. Upon arrival my party of 5 was told that we are the next party of our size to be seated. After waiting for thirty minutes in a packed non covid enforced environment we inquired with the receptionist. She informed us that there was an unexpected celebrity guest who the restaurant was trying to accommodate and took most of the available seating. We decided to stay and wait a little bit longer since she informed us that we would still be next to be seated when a table becomes available.Forty minutes had then passed and there was still no change from what was told to our party earlier in terms of when we could be seated. At this point it was now ten oclock and everyother restaurant in close proximity verbalized that their kitchens are closed at ten so we had no choice but to continue to wait. We eventually were seated at ten thirty (two hours after our reservation) where we then received horrible service from each staff member that interacted with my party.I will say that this by far was my WORSE dinning experience. Not only was our reservation completely disregarded and the staff treated us horribly but this restaurant has completely failed to enforce a covid/ fire safe environment for their customers. There definitely needs to be a revamp of how they do things from a business stand point. I really wanted to love this place since its one of the few black owned steakhouses in nyc but that encounter has shown me that they only value their celebrity clientele which is truly unfortunate. Save your money and go uptown to a steakhouse that values and respects the people who attend their restaurant.
Took my friend here for her birthday because I’ve been here before and had a great experience! Tonight not so much. Honestly everything was just ok! Even the lobster fried rice which is my favorite was just ok! First off if you gonna be charging $28 for lobster fried rice at-least make the meal worth it! There was literally no lobster and if we did find one it was chopped so fine you didn’t actually taste it! I also got the salt and pepper shrimp which I was shocked to see it cost $44 but only 6 pieces of shrimp?? Like come on that’s absurd! It just seems they raised there prices excessively but the quality and quantity of the food has went down! I don’t mind spending money at any cost but I’d like to get quality food and at least good portions! Lastly I had the Leche martini $17 which was not that great. It was milky which I’ve never had it like that before. I probably will go back because I love supporting black owned businesses in but I hope they step it up!
So I wanted to this place to get 5 starz....but ...the service is not the best. I ordered a meal for 1 they sent me a meal for 2. Now maybe selfishly, I figured the waiter would say our mistake we will only charge you for 1 . Nope he proceeded to tell me I will have to charge you for 2 fair enough, but what are you going to do with the food that been sitting on my plate? Furthermore - I could have used a new plate without the reminiscence of the food you scraped off. Also the wait is long there...some bread or chips would have been nice....
I was raving about this place to my friend. We went there and everything was off we didnt $284 food was meh. We ordered dumplings for starters (pastrami donot eat the white sauce, lamb dumplings were great, the peeking duck tacos was dry) then we ordered crispy fillets mignon was salty my friend pressure went through the roof, the drinks was horrible except the Lychee froze. I ended up with a headache. I felt so bad that my friend had a bad 1st experience there, this was my second time. My first time was way better.
Most awful NYC dining experience ever. Unconscionably SLOW, nobody and I mean NOBODY cared enough to get our order correct...FOR TWO HOURS! Had to stand up in order to get check brought to the table and then server had to go on a goose hunt for a pen. Beautiful spot, great location, worse service than the local chicken spot. Sadly disappointing. $230 for 2...wont be back but may DoorDash it. Food is good but not worth the ordeal. 👎👎👎
We had a reservation for 4pm. The manager said we were the first for dinner service and would be sat first once setup was done. We were 30 minutes early so we did not mind waiting as they were just setting up their new outside seating. Eventually other patrons showed up but no one was being seated as workers busily continue to set tables. Finally we notice other customer being seated. Employees just walked right passed us. More and more people were being seated. We tried to get the attention of everyone who passed and they all said they would tell someone. In the interim, other patrons were still being seated. I asked to speak to the manager, which was a different gentleman than before. I explained to him what was happening and ask him why we wasnt being seated. He did not address the problem at all. The food is meh for the prices ($20 cocktails $100 dinner per person). The cheeseburger dumplings is mushy and raw tasting. I also expect exceptional service. And I feel like my money wasnt good enough. My bf is extremely shy and would have been very uncomfortable if I would have insisted on leaving and this is the only reason I stayed. The experience made me feel terrible. Thanks, Stratis Morfogen.
Loved it here. It is an upscale black owned restaurant which always makes my heart happy. Braised short ribs, lobster fried rice and crab soup dumplings were all delicious . A fun atmosphere with great ambiance and attentive, courteous staff...cant wait to go back, thanks for a great evening.
Had a fantastic time here with some friends! Loved the ambiance and the food was even better. Our waiter was attentive and super helpful with the recommendations. The dumplings were super creative and tasty, but the NY Strip was one of the best steaks Ive had in a very long time. Topped it all off with a cucumber mint cooler and I was in heaven. Ill definitely be back soon!
I quite enjoyed the atmosphere within the restaurant - warm and cozy. The covid regulations were thoroughly followed and enforced and the staff were polite. In terms of food, the steak tasted commendable. The cocktails on the side gave it the perfect vibe. Finally, the desert played out a perfect ending to a nice evening.

2022-01-24I made reservations at this location and asked that the staff help celebrate my friend’s birthday, my service was terrible. I told the server that we were ready for desert and waited 15 min before I had to ask again because I was waiting for them to bring out the desert with the birthday candle had to ask too many times. The fried rice they brought out to us was terrible I didn’t understand the hype it tasted mushy and was cold. The lamb shots were so delicious A+++ definitely recommend to go there for that. The drinks were also good.My friend liked the chicken but was disappointed with the shrimp order. The chicken satay was ehh I wouldn’t order it again.Overall we appreciate this establishment for accommodating us a second time we went back again and had a better experience with the fried rice tasted better hot and fresh. The steak was delicious 😋 and the garlic lobster was ehhGreat place to come vibe in the city place was packed both Friday’s we visit. Also seen Justin Combs while we were there so that was cool!

2022-05-30The steak was incredible. Our party had the rib eye, New York strip, and salmon with sides of broccoli, pork and shrimp fried rice, dumplings and onion rings. Everything is a 10 out of 10. Our waiter, Alex J. was very attentive and treated us to a complimentary dessert of red velvet cake for our cousin’s birthday. Also delicious. The drinks were fresh, fruity, and perfect amount of alcohol. An evening dinner well spent.

2022-05-24This place is amazing! The food was incredible, the drinks were great too. The waitress we had was Kiana, she was great! Super attentive, very accommodating, super sweet and went above and beyond for us. The Pac-Man dumplings were the best Ive ever had! We cant wait to go back! We were also surprised to be seated near Hassan Johnson (from The Wire, In Too Deep)! What an awesome experience!

2022-05-18Ambience, Intimate, phenomenal service, very clean, waiters and waitresses have beautiful attire, my party had sauteed salmon, steamed bock choy, and shrimp fried rice very tasty! For appetizers the party had chicken satay and lobster dumplings. To accommodate the birthday girl the party had a very rich chocolate cake with a sparkling candle! For the people in the party who had drinks we were told that it was rich and not watered down. Everyone enjoyed there alcoholic beverages. If your looking for a nice time head to the Brooklyn Chop House and bring some pesos....this is not a cheap place. Definitely will recommend and return again! So bomb!

2022-05-07Visited for my girlfriends birthday and the ambiance and general setting of this establishment is lovely. Similar to the other chinese cuisine favorites but, with a more modern, streamlined approach. Upon entry and stating name on our reservation was told to wait momentarily for seating. There is literally nowhere to actually wait in the front and going back outside wasnt a viable option due to an active rain. There were a few other groups and couples waiting also, very tight/congested by the bar and entrance area. The restaurants dining area has lovely dim ambient lighting and the music was all hip-hop/rap and honestly was a tad bit loud and dated (nothing wrong with classics but, its all we heard lol). Our waiter seemed decent at first but, by the end of the meal was off-putting attitude wise. It was late in the evening however, maybe tired? He did not take our meal order in a timely manner, nor did he check in with us during our actual meal. We requested spring rolls that he said were not available and was offered dumplings instead, not even close to the same flavor profile we craved. The food itself was beyond decent however and the parking valet was on point. Would like to visit again to try other menu items or possibly at another location.

2021-08-22This restaurant definitely lived up to its reviews. Upon arrival for a 630pm reservation the hostess greeted me with pleasantries and said the oven was broken. I was so upset because I heard so many great things about this restaurant. My guests and I opted to wait at the bar and have cocktails as the hostess said they are trying to fix the oven. So even though we attempted to find another restaurant to celebrate a friends birthday, we honestly did not want to leave. Carlos the bartender made us feel so special and kept us entertained. His drinks were AMAZING!!! Glad we did wait. Oven was fixed and we were NOT disappointed. Well worth the wait. Service was great, food was great and just an overall great time. I am absolutely coming back.

2021-09-22Went for a birthday and had a good experience. Excelsior Pass is checked at the door for indoor dining. Inside is dimly lit. Food was very good. Prices are high of course but… it’s a steak house, it’s to be expected. Drinks were also good. Had the red velvet froze which was really good. The pac man dumplings are a nice little surprise if you like seafood. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Food tasted even better the next day lol. Overall good experience

2021-08-30Whats the purpose of making dinner reservations (via Open Table) if you still have to wait? And why state Youll need your vaccination cards (no one ever asked to see them). My wife and I drove 25 minutes to get to Brooklyn Chop House. Then we had to drive around 15 minutes looking for street parking. Luckily for us, we noticed someone coming out of their space and we grabbed it. BTW, there are parking garages near by if you want to avoid street parking. Once we arrived, we were greeted by security. After security let us in the door we now had to check-in, only to be told wed have to wait to be seated indoors. (even though we had an 8:30pm reservation) Note: we were on time. My wife and I would have been totally fine with a 10 - 15 minute wait but when the host said it could be up to 1 hour, that was completely unacceptable. My suggestion to you would be to find an alternative spot for dinner, just in case youre told you have to wait. Or do like we did and sit in their outside seating section. FYI, you will miss out on the full dining experience. In my opinion, Brooklyn Chop House is overrated. The food & drinks arent worth the prices and the outside scenery isnt the best. I wouldnt recommend this to any of our friends or family.

2021-11-18When I say I love here , I do. I came here for my birthday 11/8/21 and I’m glad I did.The ribeye steak was so tender and juicy. Their homemade steak sauce put A1 to shame(I’m not fan of it.)The lamb gyro steam dumplings were good and their tzatziki sauce complemented it well. The mash potato was delicious had ginger and garlic. The shrimp fried rice was simple and not greasy. The Sour Diesel was perfect for me strong and sweet with a hint of grapefruit.Mezcal Old Fashioned was good as well.Dessert: Apple Crumb Cheesecake. This is perfect if you love apple pie and cheesecake. The staff was attentive even though I didn’t get my bday sparkler for my dessert. The music they play are Rap and R&B. This is the perfect place to eat to celebrate life’s special moments. I’ll definitely be back to try the duck and lamb chops.
