My husband ordered from this place tonight and what he received was laughable for the price. Jumbo shrimp for 16.99? With an outdated menu online that shows it for 10.99, and then charged more when received. Will never order from this place again. Customers deserve better. With this pandemic, and restaurants closing left and right, they should appreciate customers who order and pick up because we keep them in business. Keep doing things like this, and you will be added to the closings.
It takes a lot out of me to write this review especially at a place that I often eat I came into this establishment to order some pork chops for me and the family as I was waiting in line there were another customer ahead of me and they was ordering the same thing. The representative told The customer in front of me that she only has one pork chop and she is not making any more ..... well to my surprise I was told again very blunt that theres only one pork chop and shes not making any more. So I ask again because normally and the other they tell you it will take about 15 to 20 minutes it will be a while. This is what I was expected but to my surprise again she told both of us she has one pork chop and is shes not making any more it is just the two of them there any problems you see Tommy it is not her problem. I dont know if the customer service representative in this establishment needs some Training but I hope after this review she will be evaluated for the training that she will need in the upcoming future to deal with situations when they arise. I was very disappointment to know there was no chance that she was going to make it its not because they didnt have it she told me she was not making it there was a whole lot more said but this was the part of the conversation that made me sour and it had me come on here to write a review I never thought that I would be writing a review in my own Hometown since most of my travels for work is out of the u.s. so in my conclusion I will tell most of my followers that yes this is a very good Ixtapa shmon if you want some very tasteful Soul food. But they also need to recognize that this is not the only establishment to eat food there is three more and Amityville to eat from like I told the representative I will be doing this because Im a voice of course she says she doesnt care. So by the way my favorite is in the morning I get the grits and fish with egg and cheese this platter is unbelievable that grits is tasteful but not lumpy I highly recommend this dish.... at night I have the turkey wing with a side of macaroni and cheese and gravy from the yams.. now 1 of a customer service representative that is here is Stephanie shes the one who always deal with me but she was night here tonight
It was ok ..turkey wings and baked chicken was not fully cooked.mac and cheese was good.yams was delicious. The fried chicken was good, could use a little more seasoning.We also tried the shrimp,fish and string beans that was really Good..
This place the food is amazing the chicken is beyond crispy and the owner and the employees know exactly what theyre doing here I suggest everybody go here because that 1st bite into the fried chicken it touched my soul Go here and spend all of your money!!!!!

Prices are high & food is so-so... Soul food cooked by people who dont eat it... If you dont eat it, then you dont know how it should taste... I have had better & can cook better for less. When the old cook was there the food tasted way better. And he at least was able to sample the food and say this isnt done yet. Now there are Spanish cooks in the back who most likely do not eat the food, so theyre not used to cooking it and cant say when its done or not done. No offense to race meant. Being realistic.Half cooked super tough turkey & canned green beans with flavor. Half the fish order & same price. Meals got smaller, but the price didnt decrease. High-priced without good reason. Food aint worth the price... Im always happy to support small businesses but they gotta do better. Else they will lose my business, but I guess thats just Tough Turkey! The food was ok. I wouldn’t call it delicious but I wouldn’t say it was disgusting; Just ok. The crab legs and shrimp were extremely small. For $50 I expected a lot more food.

Family and I didnt like it. We agreed that it could of been the time we went. Looked like it was close to the end of serving or running our of things. I dunno. Anyways, we went around 8pm. 3 separate orders included: BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, turkey wings, yams, Mac and cheese and collard greens. Also came with cornbread. Overall it wasnt to our liking, but may possibly try another time when there is more of a selection and earlier during the day.
Way too expensive for a untasty scoop. Even the sides are $5.99 per untasty scoop. I wont be returning. The fried chicken taste like they need to change the oil. The sweet potato are I cant even find the word. The rice was so dry and crunchy it seemed like it was never cooked. They tried and failed in my book

I drove From far out east to get a fish dinner, and it was disgusting. Everything was soggy and mushy no ketchup tarter sauce was give. The lady behind the counter had an attitude. I enjoyed the vegetables, cabbage and collard greens. But the fish was not that tasty. Heavy cornmeal taste and no seasoning. They need to get a nice southern style recipe. First time there I will not be rushing back. And it was expensive.

The pricing is too high for that little bit of food you get. You guys need to pile on the food or lower the price. I’m almost sure this would be my last time here. Come down on the prices, you would sell more food and then you would make more money compared to what you’re doing now.
After hearing good reviews from coworkers I decided to give this place a try.Went today for my first time. All I can say is the food looks and tastes delicious and the woman that helped me was very nice and helpful.Ill definitely be back.

Ive hadnt visited them in 4 years, left church and wanted a soulful meal for my sister. Ordered the turkey wings, Mac n cheese, collard greens and ribs. Ribs were a bit dried out need some barbecue sauce to keep flavorful. However, everything else was good.
I placed an order through door dash and our driver left half the order. I called the restaurant to verify and my food was still there. Called DoorDash back for a second pick up and the people at the restaurant really took care of me. The food was piping hot and very delicious. I’m a very happy and satisfied customer. Portions are enormous and the girl on the phone was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend.

Food always look good and I usually order the same meal, whitey fish dinner or turkeys wings. Chicken appears to be cooked too hard and sometimes collared greens too salty but over all, its worth the trip.
I ordered the whiting dinner platter to go. As soon as I opened up the container you can tell the fish was bad and rotten. I used to come here when I was a kid. Sad to say its not the same. This was my second time coming here since the last bad experience. Unfortunate because theres not a lot of places like this on the island. Hope it gets better.
I admire this place! They have splendid meals, their menu is varied, The cook in that spot is a real authority in the kitchen, I love very much trying all their food. The food is consistently of high class, the service towards the visitors is friendly. I frequently visit this place and I not even once was disappointed. Highly recommended.

We placed a large catering order and the food was INCREDIBLE!! Everyone loved it and was up for seconds and leftovers to take home. Will definitely be coming back for lunch dinner and future catering orders.

Good is excellent. They are cooking for every customer and season to perfection with that in mind. Add salt, pepper & hot sauce for your taste buds. Prices are fare for all of the work that goes in to preparing soul good. Portion size I always get 2 meals out of one order-So I dont know what some people are talking about. Always consistent & delicious!

I LOVE fish n chips, but this place is no good for the dish. Two stars are for the sweet lady behind the counter. My soggy fries tasted like fish, not salty at all, and the fish was bland, skin, bones, and tail still intact, and soggy, too. Maybe the chicken is okay, but if you dont eat it right away and season heavily, it will be no good. I trusted the few good google reviews for this, but ended up going to chipotle for a decent dinner afterward :(
I ate here for the first time about 2 weeks ago and Ive been back 3 times since. Their fried chicken and fried whiting is excellent. Within my 3 trips I believe Ive tried every side they have available and I have 0 complaints on any of them. Ive never spent more than 20 minutes waiting, the staff is very friendly

I went there today on a recommendation from two co-workers. The food is great. The lady that took the orders was really unfriendly and impatient. But thats about the only bad thing I could say. It was packed but thats to be expected on a Sunday afternoon. All in all I would eat there again. Great food for a good price.
TIP: Brooklyn fish does not season their fish. You have to ask. If you dont then get ready to be disappointed.Furthermore, I ordered a white fish dinner with Mac n cheese and collards. The greens are really good here but when I got home and opened that box I was in for a surprise. Who done went to petland and stole the fish? I mean are they seriously charging $11.95 for these tiny ass pieces of fish. Three strikes, youre out. Im done with Brooklyn Fish. The place used to be really good but they have fell off over the past few years. The Quality is not the same at all. Have a look at my dinner plate. Have a good chuckle on me.

First and last time patroning at Brooklyn Fish. I ordered the shrimp soul $12.99 and veggie platter $10.99. The prices is okay. The food was typical southern cuisine. The candied yams were good, the collard greens was extremely salty. I wasnt impression. Everything else was just okay. Customer service was horrible Josefina wasnt nice at all. Drove twenty one miles for food.

Me and my boyfriend were driving in the area and we decided to stop by and check out this spot.. and let me tell you that was the best decision cause this food is fireeeeee. It was like 2 meals jammed into one container and everything we ate tasted better than the last forkful..10/10 would reccomend.

So this lady name Marisella is sooo meannn! She was talking in spanish about someone while putting food in my plate. I understand spanish! She was talking loud and her face expression was angry! She did not look happy at all. I walked away angerly! She needs to get fired as soon as possible! Shes a bad customer service didnt even say hi or enjoy my food when I left! Horriable! I love Brooklyn fish i just spent 107 dollars and change in there ,this is my first time at the Wyandanch location, i usually go to the Amityville location but low and behold the Wyandanch location is even closer. Heres what i ordered 2 pounds of shrimp, 2 pounds of whiting, and 2 pounds of flounder, plus a medium size macaroni and cheese, and a medium yams ,dam thats like what mom used to make.

The cashier had a difficult time understanding what I wanted, but we got it all squared away, without a problem. The problem is, because of this, one of the other workers felt she had to dig around for the worst pieces of cornbread she could find (small and burnt) in their prepackaged bin just to spite me. I only realized what she did once I got home, so I do not feel like a business that stoops so low should be rewarded with my continued patronage.

2022-06-20This soul food healed my soul. I treated my mom to some cuisine. Originally we were headed to island flavors but the GPS Gave us late directions We ended up passing it and parked in front of this restaurant to get our bearings.Immediately when I saw the sign I knew I had to try it.

2022-05-02I called BK fish to place an order. The lady who answered the phone was very rude and has absolutely no people skills. I go to pick up my food and this lady was still very nasty and rude and tried to over charge me for two sodas. She then put the utensils and cornbread in my bag, placed the food on the counter and began to walk away. She was very dismissive and rude. The food was good but I could not enjoy it because this womans energy was just so negative. Although the food was good Ill never spend another dollar of mine in this establishment. What a shame

2022-05-28Food was fire! absolutely delicious mac and cheese was some of the best! Fish was fried to perfection! Rice and beans delicious!!Sweet Potatoes are scrumptious! Chicken was off the hook! if your thinking about I would say YES!

2022-07-02It’s not a good look to have your employees congregating and smoking weed while drinking out of a bottle of tequila right outside the restaurant (while still dressed in employee clothing ) as customers are coming in and out. If that wasn’t bad enough the LOUD conversation they were having amongst themselves was unbecoming of young women. They have no respect for their job , no respect for themselves , no respect for their employer. The food wasn’t all that either.
