The place is amazing its has some of the most beautiful plants, accessories, and equipment in brooklyn Visited the store today at 4:30 pm and purchased about 6 plants today for reasonable prices. At checkout the cashier was very rude and disrespectful she constantly made me and my boyfriend feel unwanted their. I would not come here again if she will be the cashier she needs customer service training.
The place is plant magical . As soon as you walk in theres tables of plants everywhere. All the tables are well organized and labeled. Theres spots for a photo op. So many pots to choose from. Best part the prices are AMAZING!. They helped secure my plants in a box and placed them in my car. Cant wait to go back .
This place is a beautiful plant oasis. They have a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants. HOWEVER, my experience with the cashier was horrible. She was very rude to me and to the customers before me, and told me a broken leaf was a split leaf on a monstera that didnt grow in yet (lmfao). As a plant person, I know thats the most ridiculous response I could ever receive. If your employees dont know about plants, please have someone who is able to answer questions available.
Found this Brooklyn gem because my local nursery, Home Depot, Lowes and Amazon ALL were sold out or back ordered to 2021. I am glad I found them. We needed a pot for our Bamboo Palm and this place was even more amazing in person. From the time we arrived, the location had great energy. Everyone was social distancing, BP staff were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They offered us a measuring ruler and gave us direction. We love our planter! Worth the trip. LOOK NO FURTHER.
I love this place! I used to be a regular, but I havent been here in fourteen years, because I moved out of Brooklyn. However, we have a plant project to do with our son and I KNEW that this was the place to go! So, we made the trek and, of course, Lapide did not disappoint. So many selections in plants, pottery, it had everything that we needed and the prices are very reasonable. This store is definitely one of the things I miss about living in Brooklyn.
I usually buy plants from here every year but I was very very disappointed this year. The vegetables and herbs selection was very very limited this year. I was going there almost every day for 2-3 weeks and I barely got what I usually get around this time of year and earlier. I understand Covid played a part but come on. Not HAPPY this year.
Out of all the other plant nurseries in the Brooklyn Terminal, Plantology is my favorite. They do not have a massive variety but I always feel welcomed there. There this one lady who works there (light skin long hair) whos always a sweetheart when I go. They always play the best throwbacks. I love it here
Was thrilled at the 50% plant sale but sadly, i got what i paid for. a sago palm developed huge mealyworms three days after coming home with me, which i let slide because it happens and i was able to treat, clean and rescue it with neem oil, insecticidal soap and alcohol (so far). however, two cacti that i bought there a month ago are infected with something more fatal, and i wasnt able to save them. good deals on pots and planters, but i wont be buying live plants here anymore.
Purchased a plant that was infected with mealy bugs. Not ideal, but this is a known risk at a nursery with this volume of plants. The issue I have is with how the staff responded to my request to return this plant. I called in advance and was told I could bring it back but the people there that day still seemed annoyed by my desire to return it. The man who appeared to be the owner/manager was rude and 0 out of 3 people who I had to speak with acknowledged or apologized for the inconvenience/lack of quality control.I wont be going back here. I would rather pay a bit more and shop at Natty Garden or other nurseries that actually value and respect their customers.
I was super happy to get my palm and fig plants from them but sadly, weeks later I noticed the plants weren’t thriving and I also noticed they were effected with huge mealyworms and other bugs. I tried to revive them by purchasing items to treat and recuse them. I purchased Mosquito seeds, neem oil, insecticidal soap but my babies didn’t survive. Yes they have good deals, however I won’t be buying plants there anymore.
This was my first time coming and I know nothing about plants. I was really excited to come. I had the worst experience, I would give zero stars if I could.Unless you have a car, public transportation is horrible out here. When I finally reached the nursery, it was 5pm. On the website, Yelp, and here on Google it says the nursery is opened until 6pm. Apparently, during the summer they close at 5:30pm. To get anyone to help me was next to impossible because it was clear the staff was trying to get out at 5:30pm. I believe it was the manager, he blew me off when I kept asking plant questions. When I tried to explain the situation with exactly what I needed to another employee he wasnt really listening and kept cutting me off. He directed me to a plant section that apparently only stores outdoor plants when I specifically told him I need plants that thrive indoors. I learned this after I made my purchase and I didnt have time to do proper research while I was there, because they were rushing me out. So now I have two plants and Im not sure what will happen.Im aware this place has been there for 100 years and very large, but I wont be back. I know the staff wanted to leave, but if they had helped me properly I would have been gone quicker. Terrible customer service. Im sure people can find a nursery with much nicer people, I know I will.

2021-07-18Nice place, but regular plants. Not rare plants. Price was ok. A lot of options for plants and planters. If you are trying to find something uncommon that is not the place. But you should go visit them. I asked for help and they were amazing. 5 stars for sure.

2021-01-24A must visit if you’re in the market for plants or planters. They just got in a fresh shipment and have restocked their plants. Ranging from small cacti / succulents to bigger palms. The 5” pilea and Venus fly trap were both $10, and the larger planter was about $7, smaller about $3. Check out their Instagram for more photos and prices! @brooklynplantologyAlso, they have their resident cat Brooklyn 🐱

2018-09-10A neighbor referred me to Lapide after I commented on how well her plants looked. Ive since been there every year for spring and fall plants. The place is well attended mostly on Sundays where it can get a bit crowded. Selection is good (there are a couple of plants that have not been in stock several times) and the plants fair well once you take them home. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have pots, garden tools, soil, decor and various other garden needs. Their prices are VERY reasonable and I have gone overboard with buying plants before.Keep your receipt handly for exiting.Parking is limited but spaces are available.

2021-05-15This is an amazing place to by plants. I go there a few times a year. Im there every year when the weather gets nice to buy flowers for the porch and plants for my gardens. There is a nice variety available. The staff there are polite and efficient. The prices are reasonable and they have indoor plants and hidden gems inside to the back. If you like plants, then this is a place to check out.
