Have come here a few times over the years when visiting friends in Park Slope. Theres always people, service is good whether youre sitting down or at the bar, and the food is tasty without breaking the bank.Usually get charcuterie but this time we got the mac and cheese, arugula salad, and meatballs. All were good.Good whisky cocktails, and always have a decent cava by the glass.
We had a nice time at Brookvin. A prefix menu made things easier and quicker to order. The food was nicely presented and all dishes were ltasty. Service was on par, didnt wait much for either drinks or food, all worked like a clock. A nice backyard setup with tables, lights and greenery around made it cozy. Will visit again soon👍Thanks for a pleasant experience!
My BF and I recently discovered this place, and its hard to resist coming here EVERY WEEK. Its a neighborhood gem. I would expect a place like this to be packed, but even though they take reservations, you can usually walk in and get seated. Its clearly beloved by locals--the atmosphere is relaxed and convivial without being packed. I hope it stays this way!You cant go wrong with the happy hour drinks. Ive had both the rose and the white, and they were both fantastic (the white was actually dry). The choose-your-own cheese and meat board was also excellent--one of the best Ive had. It is on the pricier side, but hey if youre getting a glass of wine for $8, its worth spending a bit more on good quality food. Oh and I did I mention the $7 HH mac n cheese? It looks small, but its actually the prefect portion for two to share if you plan to nibble on some small plates afterwards. We got the ricotta tartine and meatballs. Gosh, that sauerkraut is on point. They have seating in the garden which is lovely. Highly recommend it if the weather is nice.
Brookvin is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant and wine bar. Their food is incredible, and the small plates are very generous! The patio seating is really lovely and spaced out for safety, and they are so welcoming and truly care about their guests. Highly recommended! Love Brookvin!
We went to a catered event here today and the staff were terrific: pleasant, helpful, cheery! The food was great, too. We had pesto/mozzarella ciabatta sandwiches, mini quiches, wine, a variety of ham and dried sausages. They have a clean, wide backyard with a lot of seating. It was a lovely time!
All Ive had here is wine, but its great. They have a large selection and the staff will let you have a taste of youre not sure about the wine. The prices are also reasonable. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outside. There is a garden in back with tons of space.
Brookvin is a great place to meet someone for pre-dinner plans or a quick eat and bite. Wine selection is expansive, so be sure to try a few; the reds can be fruity and delightful. Food selection is mostly a nice assortment of meats and cheeses with warm bread, though a bit pricey. Two meats and a cheese are enough for two.
I went there for happy hour the other day. The staff were very nice, knowledgeable, and patient. The food selection was VERY low. They had a bigger online menu than in restaurant, apparently some things arent served anymore... namely, the vegetarian pastry options. They have $5 mac & cheese at happy hour, which is nice. But their bottles of wine are all $32-50. I just wish they had a wider range. Great back patio!
Brookvin has become very popular, and it can be very crowded ― often too crowded (and loud) to be enjoyable, in my view. The crowds can also make it too hot. But apart from that, its excellent. Nice wine list. Not a wide selection of food (its really a wine bar rather than a restaurant), but what food they offer is good and works well with the wine. Helpful and friendly staff. A nice Brooklyn crowd. Really nice outdoor seating in the back. Really nice atmosphere inside. (Ive always like the colors there, for some reason.)
The wine selection at Brook•Vin is varied and accessible. The tapas plates are carefully prepared and delicious. But what really makes me come back to Brook•Vin is the service. First, you will notice (if you return multiple times) that the turnover is low- the management and owners must treat their employees well. Second, you will notice that those who serve you are attentive, knowledgeable, and personable- especially Rachel (or Rachael?) the bartender. I’ve never had a bad experience there. I love just down the block and feel lucky that they chose South Slope.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday when all the snow was coming down. Their wine selection was very good to me. I enjoy every one that i tried. The food is not very filling but its a wine bar and not a restaurant. If you going here to eat and get full then turn around now.
Great local spot to relax over a glass of wine. Nice wine menu...not too large yet not too small. Knowledgeable staff are on hand to point you in the right direction if you are feeling indecisive (which I often am). I have had many good glasses of wine here though never a particularly great one which is a rarity when buying by the glass. Great happy hour specials are available all week and be sure the check out the garden if the weather permits.Brookvin also carries small plates for those who enjoy to chew while sipping Syrah. Personally, I would recommend the mac and cheese...quite tasty.
Brook Vin was recommended to us by our Airbnb host in 50th st, Brooklyn. We arrived late evening on a Friday and were made to feel very welcome by the staff. Great (but quietly ambient) background music (Beatles, America etc), adequate menu and selection of drinks - all VERY reasonably priced. You can choose your own ambience in Brook Vin - my wife and I are approaching 60 and chose an inside table, in lower level lighting. I tried two excellent but different beers, followed by a Negroni. The food was simply delicious - the BBQ pork was so good it was almost melt in the mouth and deliciously flavoured, as were the meatballs. Excellent work by the chef. The serving staff were very nice people and very efficient and appropriately attentive. My wife and I are from Tasmania, Australia - a place known for excellent food and wine, but we were very very impressed by Brook Vin, its food, selection of drinks and its staff. We had a very enjoyable evening in this lovely place.
The food here is amazing. I got the Vermont cheddar mac and cheese with bacon and it was the best mac and cheese Ive ever had. It arrived at the table hot and steaming. I burned my tongue a bit but it was worth it for the best bite of food Id had all day. Highly recommend.
You know when you beat yourself up because you find a gem and wonder how it took you so long to find it? Yeah? This! Brookvin! If there were more stars to give, Id be giving them left, right and center here. What an awesome and fun evening my friends and I had the other night. The space was designed perfectly for what they are selling. WINE AND CHEESE! YUM! Theres a beautiful outdoor area with plants, so very charming. Indoors is rustic, dim and cozy.Firstly, we walked in with only half our party because we werent sure if the others were coming. Our waiter, lets call him Sally :) offered us the option of sitting outdoors and then moving indoors when they come. Also because they close the outdoor section at 10.We did order some wine while still sitting outdoors but our friends arrived shortly after so we just moved indoors and continued the night there. Everybody ordered different wines and small eats. All the dishes were incredible and bursting with flavor. I will say that I know I made Sallys life difficult by asking him to choose which wine to serve me, but he truly did not disappoint. I love when the people helping me dine out are so charming and friendly. It makes the night that much better.I am so glad I now have Brookvin on my radar. This will definitely be the first of many nights here.
Brookvin is such a cool spot. I enjoyed the conversation with James. He is very personable and friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. The atmosphere is very relaxed and lends well to group conversations or even one on one. This would be a good place to begin a date or even a great stop at the end of a date to spend a little more intimate time.
If you want to go to a place that gets the kind of wine you like by your crazy hand gestures, head over to Brookvin. Pull up a comfy chair at the bar and just let the bartenders take care of you. Super important note: they offer happy hour on solid wines, Monday through Friday!I popped in on a Friday night when I was early for dinner and cabernet with a delicious boucheron. OK, I admit the cheese wasnt as good as the jalapeño jam but it was good together. You can easily sit at the bar by yourself for a bit without feeling uncomfortable as there are a lot of friends hanging out, though I suspect as it gets on, its more of a date spot, which is great note to self.
Came here on Saturday with some friends after a bottomless mimosa and sangria brunch and a bar hop. We ducked in here as we waited for a Mexican bar/restaurant nearby to open at 4pm.Brookvin is a pretty cute place with reasonably priced wines that are delicious and nicely curated to only have a select few, but good, bottles. We all went with their happy hour rose which was $6 for a glass and it was delicious and refreshing - not overly sweet., but lightly fruity.During happy hour their $4 snacks become $2 and thank goodness because as delicious as they all sound on the menu, snack portions are painfully small. The small container/plate they come served in is smaller than your average ashtray.A friend and I decided to split an order of their Maple Pecans, they were absolutely delicious - but again with such a painfully small serving I would have been annoyed by paying anything over $2.Friendly staff, lots of snacks and interesting sandwiches on their menu make this a place I would return to...during happy hour.
I usually dont write reviews but I felt the need to write this because of the experience I had about a week ago at brook vin. I have been hopping around Park Slope spots for years now but I have never experienced such unfriendly staff and poor service. I work in retail so Im the first to understand when someone is having a bad day, but our waitor was so rude and on top of that, the food was beyond mediocre. Im very sorry to be writing this in the first place. I will not be returning and I will have to tell others to avoid brook vin just because it is not worth the money.

2022-06-05Laid back spot with great backyard area (covered but open.) Everything served is high quality- even the charcuterie. Nice selection of wines by the glass so you can pair with many different small plate selections. Dark chocolate mousse is very thick and rich but so good.

2022-03-18Very cute place. Nice and chill. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. The bar tender and waiter were very nice and attentive. I recommend for a low-key wine buzz. They also do have hard liquors so dont feel stuck but just a wine option.

2022-01-12Brookvin is the best wine bar in Brooklyn! Excellent wine selection, good happy hour, the cheese is phenomenal and the bread locally sourced - crazy delicious. Great place to catch up with friends, have a romantic date, or a solo glass after work. Plus their back patio is adorable for the warmer months!

2022-03-19This place is everything that’s wrong with Brooklyn. I walked in and the server looks at me up and down and says they have no reservations. I’m dressed casual with 2 other people. So I attempt to sit at the bar they tell me there holding the bar seats. So I step outside and go online and check open table and realized they had numerous reservations open. I made a reservation came back in and told the guy hey I got a reservation. His face was priceless like he thought I didn’t have internet on my phone and couldn’t make a reservation. Sat down ordered the mac and cheese and a couple drinks. The mac and cheese was def different was made from penna pasta with cheese on top def would not recommend. Wine is wine and was okay. You can tell the employees from this wine bar are def not from Brooklyn and cater to a different audience and if your not from Idaho or Wisconsin they turn you away thinking you won’t figure out they have numerous reservations. I would def not go there again when there are so many other places that the service is amazing regardless of how I look the clothes I’m wearing and the color on my skin.
