Brownstones Coffee in other cities:
Great experience. My server Madalyn is what stood out the most. I was a one top on a Friday morning, not the most desirable table on a busy shift but she greeted me warmly and gave me an excellent recommendation of a blackberry lemonade mimosa. The food runner brought out my food and Madalyn quickly noticed something was missing and brought out the correction immediately. I was having a really bad day but the kind, quality service along with the delicious food made my day better. Thank you Madalyn and Brownstones!
It took between 5 - 10 minutes to be acknowledged let alone to get cups of water after being seated. After that the food came and we weren’t checked on until we were already finished eating. The food wasn’t that great either. As someone from out of the area who looks forward to this while visiting, I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve had better service at McDonald’s…
I am honestly pleased and glad to write a review for this brunch I had today. After getting reviews from my friends and family for this place about their breakfast I was fascinated for their food let it be brunch or breakfast. After a big line up we ended up with a table I am really glad for the well respectful servers. We had the hungry man and the steak and egg, it was for sure delicious and fresh. I will for sure come again in a weekday when there isn’t much line up.Thank you again treating every customer with respect and being so welcoming.
The only place you should be getting your breakfast fix. Everything on the menu is extremely delicious and the portions are very generous. Good luck trying to decide what to order, you’ll be tempted to just order everything! Nice, cozy aesthetic with friendly staff. Just be warned that parking is limited, and it may get crowded. But the food is so worth it.
We stopped in for brunch and it was great. The wait was less then ten minutes for two people. Our waiter Kayla was awesome. The food was delicious. We had the steak and eggs meal, build your own omelet, side of corn beef hash and french toast bites with the fresh berries on top. Kayla recommended some two flavored tea and they were awsome! I definitely will be visiting again!
Have to give it 5 stars. Our goto for a tasty well put together breakfast. The cinnamon French toast bites are so good.Anything you order will probably look amazing and taste great as well.Line is long but*Pro tip. Download the app to book a spot and you can see how much time is left4 year update.Place is still amazing. Ordered Two coffees just look at the photos. Homemade whipped cream. Delicious Godiva chocolate drizzle
Ordered chicken and waffles asked to substitute waffles for French toast (eggs & bread) the waitress was rude and came back with some nonsense price for the substitution. I stuck to the chicken and waffles. It looked and tasted like they poured a bottle of Lawry’s on my chicken AND waffles … that’s not how you season food. My palate was burning for the remainder of the day. Rude waitress, poorly seasoned food (waffles don’t need to be seasoned and dumping a bottle of Lawrys on the chicken is not how you correctly season food) smh
I went in and sat down. Place was not busy. After looking at the menu I just decided to have a coffee. The waitress told me in order to sit I have to order food. Why cant I just sit and drink my coffee. Staff was very rude and food was way over priced. If there was something lower then 1 star I would give that. I will never be back to this place.
Currently on a 50 restaurant tour encompassing Nassau, Suffolk County, NYC and Massachusetts. Restaurant number 37. Parking was available but had limitations. Nice curb appeal and average decor. Spacious with a relaxed atmosphere. With a name like brownstones coffee though , I would imagine that the coffee would be better than industry standard, it wasnt but heres where the fun begins. I ordered the traditional challah French toast, avocado toast and cornbeef hash. The upside was the French toast had nice texture, flavorful and well balanced with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Topped with strawberries and blueberries that were both fresh and sweet. The avocado toast was very good. The downside, if you call it cornbeef hash then the cornbeef is the star of the dish not inundated with with peppers, onions, potatoes and average quality meat especially at that price. Overall, this place is definitely worth visiting.
I really wanted to love this place, but I did not have good experience. They have just a few vegetarian options for non-sweet meals. The coffee was too sweet to drink. And our order was messed up. Instead of fresh berries crepes, we received banana/nutella crepes (it was a dessert and was meant to be shared, one person is allergic to nuts, needles to say - we were not able to eat it). We were not asked to pay for it, but we did not get anything complimentary for mixed up order either.
An absolutely wonderful dining experience. Beautiful and original atmosphere. A variety of food choices and everyone loved their selections. Everything we ate was fresh and tasty. Service was quick and our server Michelle was very attentive and welcoming. Perfect dining experiences are few and far between these days, but this place definitely provides.
Lovely place for brunch and the food is amazing!!! I love the waffles with fresh fruits, and birthday pancakes for kids! Avocado toast is really delicious! Coffee is great too! A must try!!! Usually very busy during breakfast hours- you can make reservations on yelp to avoid the wait!
This place is well worth the wait. I highly recommend using the app to get on the list ahead of time. Once inside, the restaurant is cozy and festively decorated. The holiday blend coffee suggested by the waitress was delicious, we drank it black! The menu has so many interesting options it was difficult to choose, but the Avocado BLT Benedict was absolutely incredible. Served on a thick slice of toasted ciabatta bread the combination of flavors will have you wanting to lick the plate. I look forward to returning soon!
Went to the Brownstones today with a friend for the first time, pleasant atmosphere, nice decor, friendly staff, However my friend ordered a burger well done we were enjoying the avocado toast which was good, when she finally got to her food, the bun was saggy from all the blood running from the meat of the burger, it made us nauseous I couldnt finish my omelette seeing all that blood on the plate. She was offered a new burger which came out well done but our hunger had left the building! She barely touched the burger and I left more than half of my food on the plate. The food looks good and is not bad however if you dont eat rare meat please make sure your meat is well done or you will end up as nauseous and disgusted as we were. I didnt know the loaded home fries have jalapeños, since I dont eat anything spicy I had to be picking them out which made me not want to eat them anymore, without the jalapeños they are good in flavor (for my taste). Would I recommend this place? YES. will I go back again? Yes, Ill give it a second try.
Brownstones Coffee, it’s always an experience. I went to Brownstones Coffee on a Tuesday morning in June. For those of you who sometimes like to dine in serenity, I would suggest going on a weekday morning. Anyway I dine there when I can so, I’ve experienced it busy and relaxed. I forgot my waitress name but she is a very nice dirty-blonde woman and it was good service. Again I would like to add, service is good when they are busy as well.I usually only drink water because I hate sodas and juice is just not good for you; so I drank water. Going forward, I ordered the Manolito’s Omelet. It has Chorizo in it, which I love, black beans, corn, and pepper jack cheese. They also top it with Pico de Gallo. I also had a side of Potatoes. Oh, and last but not least, the French Toast Bites! They’re delicious! I suggest getting the half size if it’s for yourself, they’re very filling.I was stuffed,Great time as usual. I would suggest you go, if not for the aesthetic and food alone.
The vibes can be a hit or miss you either get really nice customer service or some can be quick and rude. The food is always great. The drinks are always amazing ( alcoholic and non-alcoholic ) You should definitely do reservations on yelp because they are always busy.
Great place for breakfast or lunch. Food is good, service is good. Nice atmosphere. Recommend!UPDATE: There is usually a long wait to eat here. We used the wait-list feature on the Yelp app this time, we were seated as soon as we arrived. I highly recommend giving it a try.
I’ve been to brownstones so many times over the past two years! The staff is always friendly and the service is always efficient. Most of my experiences have been next to perfect, there was a time when unfortunately my eggs had shells in them, but I figure mistakes happen.I always bring friends from out of town and state here and they go back home singing praises! My go to favorites are the French toast bites and Avocado BLT Benedict!Lately for COVID, they have adapted well with more space between tables, enforcing people to wait in their cars, and with the option to join the waitlist on Yelp, things run quite smoothly. You also can scan the QR code for the menu so that’s definitely a perk during COVID.Side note: the parking lot can get packed so get there a bit early, I can usually find parking along the street if anything. And definitely join the wait list on Yelp if you can!
Google asked me to update my review, but to be honest...Brownstones is ALWAYS consistent and the quality is always fabulous, which is why I keep going back!!!Please check them out for yourselves!☕🧋🍳🥓🥞🤤❤One of my favorite breakfast spots! There is something for everyone! Some of my favorites are the Avocado Bacon Eggs Benedict, Stuffed Strawberry French Toast and the BEC croissant sandwich - all served with yummy seasoned potatoes. Their coffee is on point and I always enjoy one of their specialty lattes, which always compliment the season - had the Cinnamon Dolce yesterday. Affordable prices. Staff is always upbeat and pleasant. If you havent been there yet, youre truly missing out!☕🍳🥓
When I come here food is usually AMAZING this time however it wasn’t that great which was a little annoying bc I was raving about it to my bf and when he finally eats there it was mehh the French toast bites weren’t perfect lot crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. The worst part about it was it was not a busy day. I usually go when it’s packed and is a hour wait this time we got sat so fast so it was disappointing I’m giving it 4 stars bc I’m hoping it was a bad day. But usually their food is amazing ! Staff is always friendly and the place is always nice and clean.
First time here and The breakfast was decent, maybe since it was Labor Day the food was not as good as it is always said to be. The staff was phenomenal though! Very welcoming and polite. Only real downside is the wait time. We waited for 2 hours today, will not do that again.
I usually enjoy going to this Brownstones location but today I did not have a good experience. First, they blocked off the ramp for wheelchairs with the outdoor seating and I had no way to get my wheelchair bound mother onto the sidewalk except by lifting her up. Then none of the workers helped to open the door when we were going in and leaving.Once we were in the restaurant, it took like 15 minutes just to get a server and we were told there was no orange juice. However, I saw him serving orange juice to other tables. He hardly came to our table and I had to ask another server for a check since he didnt come to us for 20 minutes. Needless to say I was very disappointed with this visit.
Literally the best breakfast place in Long Island. There’s so much on the menu and every single thing is delicious. I’ve been here 4 times and got something different every time and have always been satisfied. Their drinks are amazing also, especially the pagoccinos! The service is fantastic too, all of the staff is friendly and diligent. Lastly the atmosphere is great too!!
Made online order and never got confirmation by email or phone. Called restaurant on 9/13 to ask where my order was and could not get a person to answer. Their ordering system also provided no information. My credit card was not charged. Then a day later my card was charged for the food I never received...yet nobody ever called me about this order. Frustrating. I ended up ordering from another Brownstone Cafe.
The website makes getting a table much quicker and its a welcomed new way to make reservations! The service was good. While our seating wasnt ideal, we were seated outside very close to the parking lot off set so we didnt see servers that often, they still managed to check in and make sure all our requirements were met. I had a caramel macchiato that was perfectly made, just sweet enough and a strong coffee aftertaste, just the way I like it. I followed that with Avacado Benedict toast with poached eggs. My eggs were overcooked, however the toast was cooked perfectly topped with some of the most delish Avacado spread and crispy bacon that all mixed to make a delectable treat dancing on my taste buds. All in all I will definitely be back and would recommend this breakfast spot to all!!
I am going to miss this place they have great food unfortunately I am no longer able to make revervations because I live . 2 miles out of the service area. I called and asked if I can makes a reservation I was told I could not do it over the phone. I was told I can come down in person. I reluctantly agreed to come in person and was put on a waiting list for 90 minutes. Very unfortunate I will miss you brownstones but I refuse to wait 90 minutes I. The severe heat or cold.
We had a horrible experience. We went as a family husband and wife and a 7 month old baby. The food was nothing amazing. People brag about this place oh its great and its really just hyped for no reason. We paid our bill thru there mobile app as on the receipt states you can make payment that way. As we are half way out the door the waitress screams you didnt pay the bill in front of the entire restaurant. We said to her there is no reason to embarrass us that way the bill is paid thru your mobile app. Doesnt apologize just says ok sometimes our system has issues with the mobile app. For this reason I would never recommend this place or go back.
I placed 2 orders of cinnamon swirl pancakes with eggs, home fries and turkey bacon on the side. When I got home I seen that they only gave me one order of cinnamon swirl pancakes and the other was plain. I went there they fixed the order for me and when I got home I started to eat and I felt something hard in my mouth and I spit it out and it was a piece of wood baked into the pancake. They gave me a refund and new food. In the end they still messed up my order and gave me the wrong food. I’m not trying to bash this restaurant I just want people to be aware when they eat to look out for wood.
I wish the menu had a little more range but it is a breakfast joint so obviously half the menu is going to be eggs & potatoes but its pretty good. No complaints really, the staff is nice. The place has a nice theme I dont reccomend coming on weekends as youd have to wait about an hour for a table but overall enjoyable experience
Never had been here before, we went for brunch for my sons birthday . Absolutely fantastic. Had the Banana Nut Bites ( French Toast Bites), and loaded home fries. Food was top notch. Nice atmosphere, great service. You must try the Smores latte, it is the best latte I have ever had. Be forewarned, we went on a Sunday around noon and parking was a difficult task. Well worth it though.
This was my first time going to the Amityville location. I got the pancakes and eggs and was very pleased with my eggs over medium, crispy bacon, seasoned potatoes and yumm-o pancakes. The portion was perfect too; I was able to eat everything and not feel stuffed...ok i did share my pancakes with my bf, so maybe i could have become stuffed. They were busy as all Brownstone locations seem to be. Everything ran smoothly. Food came out in good time, we were offered refills on our coffees, they turned over tables effortlessly, kept everything clean, the employees wore face masks, and everyone was very nice. Great job Amityville! I forgot to take a pic of my food cos I was so hungry, but I did snap a pic of this nifty, possibly non-working, grandfather clock I had in my view.
Food looked good but honestly I got the breakfast burrito and it was horrible. Coffee horrrible. Home fries dried with no flavor. They didn’t season ANYTHING. Eggs like IHOP. Best thing on the plate was the ketchup and peppers. Waitress was excellent took the coffees off & patient.
This place was well worth the price and the wait. The food was well above average. The space is tastefully decorated and well lit, however it is a bit small for the amount of people they put in there. Expect it to be packed and difficult to move around in if you need to use the restroom. The menu has a nice range of options without being too much. This place is perfect for a date brunch.
First time there, place is very nice, it got crowded quickly, but other tables seemed to get a bit better service, we had to ask 2 other waitresses to help us because ours was not anywhere around.Good was good, I did have to send back my eggs, they were very over cooked but second time they were perfect and tasty. The potatoes were spicy which I didnt expect and it didnt mention that on the menu, that I saw anywhere.
Oh man! I wish I lived closer to here, but that may be bad since I would go all the time!! The food here is delicious. Everything is perfectly made and the service is fantastic. Also, the prices are really great. The only qualm is, because its a brunch place, it gets very busy... And I mean VERY busy during the weekends for brunch. However, its not terrible since there are some things to help with this. If you can, I recommend coming early (around the time they open) or come around lunchtime since the wait is less overwhelming. The first time I went, I went with a party of 9, including my kid cousin. Even though they normally do not seat more than parties of 8, they were able to accommodate us. Also, you are able to order online for pick up. I believe you could have it delivered too, but I was going to the area so I figured Id swing by and test the app. I picked up the food and drove about 20ish minutes and the food was still warm and delicious. I must have tried about half of their breakfast part of the menu and seriously... I cannot recommend this place enough.
Great ambiance. The refurbished place looks fantastic. Same great menu - if you love animal. Please, please, please offer some meat and dairy-free options. Staff was very accommodating when I requested avocado toast sans the over-easy egg and bacon, but it would be nice if maybe say two of the many options on the menu would not have to be altered and just catered to those of us to dont eat animal products.
This is one my favorite places to have breakfast. The french toast bites are to die for ! You will not be disappointed.I can honestly only give 4 stars because the wait times are insane!! Unless you go during the weekdays but most of us people work. Lol ... Also the parking is horrific
Love the new design of the restaurant. Food is top-notch quality and presentation. French-toast bites and an omelette to share are always a go-to. Always a wait, but theres actually a small waiting room now so not as uncomfortable. Servers are sweet and fast. Coffee is delicious and hot. Breakfast and lunch served. A monthly regular for sure
This place is awesome. I’ve had my fair share of breakfast food from many different places and this place is hands down the best! Great atmosphere and quality service. Homemade taste and everything is FRESH. Reasonably priced too, worth every penny. Will be back again soon. Let’s just say I had an amazing first experience.
Sadly to say I was SUPER DISAPPOINTED! This was my first experience here, my boyfriend & I went for breakfast last Friday around 9/10am. It was not busy at all!! But for some reason the service was HORRIBLE. I a ordered a cappuccino.. THAT NEVER CAME..I could not even find the waitress to tell her that my coffee never came.. I had ordered Eggs Benny and it was SOOO COLD when it got to my table, Than My boyfriend got the pancake & egg combo...WELL WHATS A COMBO IF YOU NEVER BRING THE PANCAKES!? The waitress dropped the plate of eggs but never got the pancakes...The waitress did not come back to even check on us **( I WOULDVE LET HER KNOW MY BREAKFAST WAS COLD )** , I was forced to eat my cold food & than track her down to ask for the pancakes after my boyfriend already finished his plate of eggs and home fries, we than got lovely cold pancakes! No one seemed to care about our table of 2.... Only the larger tables were being attended to.. Such a shame! $50.00 LATER AND NEVER AGAIN!! STICK TO YOUR LOCAL DINERS PEOPLE!
Update: This place was just redone and they did a great job! Pulling up this place is easy to find and so is the parking. You go inside and the flow is perfect too! The staff are always smiling and happy to help. The food and drinks are perfect too. This place is the best Sunday brunch spot for sure!So I had to take away a star because this place is a two hour wait on a Sunday. They tell you check in at a certain time if your on the wait list. So you wait an hour try to find parking...good luck their is non the parking lot is full. So you wait for a spot to open up and you finally get inside the place. Boom, another hour wait past the first hour but your willing to wait...why you may ask? The servers are friendly and the food is amazing! Your settled in with your great coffee or tea starting to get happy...your food comes out you start to eat it. That’s when you are like I’d do this again it’s worth the wait! There is a line for coffee and food take out straight ahead when you walk in if you don’t want to wait to sit and eat. That’s also where the host will be to check you in and text you when your table is ready if you want to wait in your car. To the left is the dining room. To the rear is the kitchen and bathroom.Update: The most recent visit proved not so great. After a last minute decision to eat here. Joined the waitlist and of course had to wait even more in our vehicle then in the Brunch Spot.I cannot tell you enough about how the wait is becoming not worth it. Yeah the food is good like the French toast bites with the bananas and strawberries. As well as the egg white feta wraps. Even the eggs with the hollandaise.Last visit I got a for with someone else’s salad still on it. Had to ask for a new fork no big deal but how do you not notice putting silverware out with bright green lettuce stuck to it.Also I ordered the seasonal ginger bread drink and it was so artificial tasting. I told the girl and she never took it off the table and left it on the check. Talk about waitress 100 here.Going to have to take another star off but really should be taking off two for poor wait times and poor customer service/experience. The problem is that a small part of me still wants to come back because of the interior decor and brunch vibes.
My mom and I went to brownstones today to have a nice breakfast. The food is amazing, but when my mom got her food the butter was next to the hot food which caused the butter to completely melt. The melted butter spilled all over my moms shirt and ruined her shirt. Your not suppose to put cold butter next to warm food. Your suppose to be able to spread your butter. Then the manger came up and said I’m Sorry, gave her attitude and walked away. The waitress she is so nice, said to us that butter suppose to be hard. I’m calling the better business bureau.
Incredibly underwhelming and overpriced. French toast was very dry and came with exactly 4 blueberries and 2 slices of banana and 1 slice of strawberry. No confectioners sugar either. Hungry mans feast - both identical orders came without the bacon or the sausage or the ham. You dont get what you pay for especially true with takeout ordersThis place is very overrated. The pictures online are so misleading.Do not recommend.
WOW! Love this place never had a bad meal -- Ordered avacado toast today. First 1/4 was absolutely delicious!! When I cut into the egg it had something crunchy on top - when i eat it - I think but not sure that it was egg shells -Politely told waitress that i couldnt finish my lunch because of the egg shells - They never offered to replace it for me -- I was shocked when she gave me the bill without taking it off. I gave her my credit card - and politely told her I was shocked they didnt remove it from bill - She came back said we took off something on the bottom -- They took off the cost of the sodas! How petty!! Had an appointment after lunch was starving all afternoon. So disappointed !
Not a good experience. My daughter in law visiting from out of state had HAIR in her food, either their servers or a cooks. Her hair is long and black, the hair was short and light. They remedied the situation by taking $1.50 off the bill and didn’t even remake her food.... like she would want to eat the rest of the food that the hair didn’t touch. Really disgusting and unsanitary. Manager never came to the table to apologize either to add insult to injury. There are too many breakfast places for this type of customer service to be okay.
Understaffed on an 8:30 Sunday morning. My friend and I only saw 2 waitresses working. There were tables left uncleaned while customers lined up, waiting to be sat. We waited about 10 minutes just to get a menu and another 15 to take our orders. If we didnt love the food here, we would have left. Please schedule your employees accordingly. You are losing tremendous revenue!Further update, the coffee that was brought to our table was warm, not even hot. Upon asking for another cup, the coffee was then scalding hot. After our food arrived (I ordered the Hungry Man Feast), it was to my surprise that the food arrived cold. At this point, I didnt even want to eat there anymore, but the waitress insisted she have my dish fixed. She said, it will only take 2 seconds. If Im understanding right, it takes 35 minutes for cold bacon and eggs, but two seconds to heat it up? Hmmmm peculiar. So I entertained her and said okay. Two minutes later, a new dish comes out for me and IT WAS STILL COLD!Im unsure if I should eat here again. I love this restaurant, I really do, but the service was unacceptable to say the least.
Brownstones is surprisingly really good! I had no idea this little coffe shop was actually a full blown restaurant with people lined up out the door to come eat here. The best part is, once you put in your reservation they will text you when youre table is ready AND you can actually see where your reservation is in line, so if you need to run a few errands you can do so no problems. Food and service is great, definitely a place to try and return to time and time again for great breakfast and lunch food.
So here I am so excited to have breakfast, walk in 1:45pm Sunday. Yes there busy so I wait patiently. 2 other parties are seated way after me. 2:05pm still noone. Waiting...finally someone comes and starts with the other two tables...and then tells me to hold on...that was the last time!
Our first time back since this place reopened after the fire. Sadly, food and ambiance dont quite live up to its former glory. The expansion of the interior sacrificed coziness and the accoustics are bad when the place is crowded. Bacon and hime fries arrived stale, as if they had been pre-cooked and been sitting under heat lamps for a while. Service was fast and very friendly however.
Id like to start off by saying I understand that it is Mother’s Day and there are an overwhelming amount of orders, BUT to cancel an order I placed and paid for days ago while I’m standing outside waiting for it is the most absurd and unprofessional move I’ve ever seen a restaurant make. There is not one employee in sight and the lines are being controlled by customers. There are tons of people standing around inside and not one person is “Social distancing”. I drove an hour to come to my grandmas house which is down the block from this location to drop off food as we cannot celebrate due to the circumstances, but that was completely ruined. I thought I was doing the right thing ordering in ADVANCE and now it is too late to order from anywhere without at least an hour wait. Needless to say, I will NEVER do business with this establishment again. There was no apology, nothing. Another customer standing outside was the one to inform me of this situation. I am truly astonished with how this was handled and I hope they can learn something from this disaster.
The food was great and there are so many different options to choose from. I’m giving 4 stars because the wait was too long even after reserving using the app. We still had to wait at least another 20 minutes to be seated. Would probably go again, but if you have a larger party; be prepared to wait.
June,10, 2019 11,AMMy daughter already wrote a review but now its my turn. I had to go for a medical procedure. I was not allowed to eat for 24 hours. But as a treat I told my daughter that i wanted to go to Brownstones for breakfast afterwards. So I ordered the Hungrymans Breakfast. When the meal came I opened the little butter packet and unbeknownst to me the butter was totally melted. The other 2 were the same. So when I opened it, it went all over my shirt. I told the waitress and she got the manager to come over. The manager brings a glass of seltzer and a dirty rag. Its not a little spot. Its all over my shirt. So I told her it would not help. She saids so what would you like me to do? I said to her that I believe are you allowed to put butter next to something thats hot? Most restaurants put the butter in a separate dish. She catches an attitude with me saids why not?! People melt butter all the time. (I have to check with the Dept of Health or the Better Business Bureau and see because the butter can go bad and melt.) She walks away. Then she gives me my ice tea as a courtesy. Im not asking for any free stuff. But she should have been treated this differently. She should have said get the shirt cleaned and send me the bill and not give me an attitude. Now Im not sure when I will return. There are too many restaurants that come and go so of you want your restaurant to be around for a long tome customer service should be top priority. Our waitress was great and so was the food.
Dissatisfied with the service mainly, however the food wasnt quite as good as it used to be either (especially compared to the Islip location). Rude waitress, and we complained to management which offered a hurried apology but nothing more. Menu selection is good, quality again isnt what it used to be (at this specific location).
Went for lunch on a wed afternoon. Although i had the breakfast french toast cubes my wife had the italian chicken pannini . The french toast was awesome, it came piled high with strawberries and bananas and plenty of french toast i couldnt finish the whole thing. The paninni had fresh mozarella and roasted peppers and came with pasta salad . The place is very quaint and decorated in an early 1900s theme. Service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely return.
Coffee is decent. Their high carb foods look pretty tasty, but low carbers should be aware that they overcook eggs and burgers during busy times. Great service always, and excellent food before the brunch rush. The carby options are probably not affected by the rush.
First time here, I have to say its hard to find good restaurants on the island and Im picky when it comes to fresh and delicious things. I had strawberry cream chesse stuffed French toast. Let me tell you, it is to die for. The tartness of chesse compliments the sweetness of strawberry. And did I mention it was deep fried, ❤ not for weight conscious people but hey its summer.
I don’t know how anyone can give Brownstones a bad review? They are one of the best breakfast places on Long Island along with Maureen’s Kitchen. Every place is allowed an off day. Maybe a couple kids call in sick or whatever. But if you go to place and it’s really good 99% of the time how can you give them a bad review if you get them on a bad day? I’ve seen a two star review for Brownstones. One person complained about “they have too much animal”. They have eggs, French toast, pancakes etc. Come on. Some people just like to complain about every little thing. You can’t make them happy. Go there, you will enjoy it!!
Came here Sunday morning around 9am and they already had a bit of a crowd. No wait but the last tables were filled up within minutes. I was blown away by how delicious their potatoes and french toast bites were. I highly recommend this place, but do go before 9am to guarantee you a seat!
Great food Great staff .good coffee (not colored water ,if ya know what I mean).one of my go to spots to meet for breakfast.i can tell you to try a certain item, but they are all good .....try everything....walk in and roll out, they give you a real good amount of food...
Brownstones creates the most delicious breakfasts that you can find in the area! No matter what you order, you will recieve a plate that is instagram-worthy and will do your taste buds justice! Dont forget to try out one of their smoothies, hot chocolates, or lattes. Be sure to go early in the morning because they do not stay open into dinner hours and can get very crowded after 10:00.
Ordered a panini for take out, went to pick it up after 15 mins as instructed, was not ready. Waited another 20 mins I still did not get my food. When I asked them to check on my order it was sitting on the table already for a long time. The panini was burnt and not tasty at all. Would not go back. Its overpriced.
My husband and I come into the Amityville location very often. Weve noticed they hired a new hostess, a short, tan, brunette girl. She has messed up taking my name and number twice now (once being on my husbands birthday). We also had to wait double the time she had told us originally and had an attitude. We dont plan on coming back anytime soon, especially not when shes working.
The wait time to eat here is outrageous. And I swear if the food wasnt good this place would have been closed a long time ago. I dont understand how when you get there well before other people they see other people before you who have used app I dont understand how that works. My mom, brother and I got there about 9:40-9:45 am and we didnt get seat until almost 12:15 p.m. lets figure that one out

2022-06-20Great place for a fancy breakfast or lunch! They offer a different twist on many old time favorites. Surely worth the visit if you are looking for something special or even if you just want to enjoy a casual meal out.

2022-02-27Ohhhhhh, youre going to love this place. Food portions are huge and you will love every bite of it. They serve breakfast/brunch, so plan to go early as they close early in the day. Parking is not the best as its a little cramped. When the day is nice, you can dine outside, however, youre kind of in the parking lot. Either way, you WILL be back!

2021-09-25Very very delicious! They have and extraordinary lists of fancy drinks like apple cider or pumpkin spice mimosa, white hot chocolate, and s’more latte!Waffles, crepes, stuffed french toast!I really enjoyed eating here and would be my go to Long Island breakfast place. I love love Maureens kitchen too very similar cafe to their foods with a home cooked vibe but steampunk atmosphere compared to a cow theme lol…this is exactly the kind of place we’re always looking for.Parking sucks here though… so if it’s busy you may have to park on a side st.Also I suggest going before 10am for less of a wait! Enjoy it!

2022-03-05Ate here for breakfast this morning with my whole family ( 7 people if you count the little ones). The online waitlist was very convenient and easy to use. All the employees were very nice. Everyone was working hard! The food was absolutely amazing… hands down the best breakfast I’ve had in a while. Food came out fast And had great presentation. And the coffee was amazing too! Definitely will be back

2021-08-30Great place for breakfast or lunch, everything on the menu looks good. The photo on the left is the Farmhouse frittata. The photo in the middle is French Toast bites. The photo on the right is avocado toast with mozzarella cheese.

2022-01-02This place was a pleasant surprise. My boyfriend and I went for brunch on like a Tuesday and it was really crowded when we arrived but the wait was like 20 minutes and it was worth it. I ordered the French toast bites with a side of caramel sauce and it was very delicious. But what was do die for me was their corned beef hash...its REAL corned beef with home fries mixed in and its soooo sooo good. My boyfriend got a frittata which he really enjoyed (like he cleaned his plate). And I got the baileys hot chocolate (pictured) and he got the mistletoe mimosa...both were amazing! Im looking forward to going back!

2020-08-31Incredible breakfast restaurant. We were able to seat my very large family on a Friday morning with a 40 min wait. You can reserve a table on the Yelp app before going. Also try to view their menu on their website beforehand so you can get a glimpse of what you would like. The Yelp menu is dated according to a server. The food was absolutely incredible. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The price is unbeatable.Clean and spacious restaurant. I do hope they’re able to update some of their silverware. Several glasses on our table had cracks and shattered rims. The staff was overall accommodating and friendly with the exception of a few who were not.

2022-03-30Okay so this is the third location of Brownstones I’ve been to. I love the food at every one I’ve gone to. The food at this location I’m not sure why wasn’t my favorite compared to the other too. It was good, but not as great compared to the west Islip and center reach locations. To top it off the hostesses that were there this past Sunday weren’t the friendliest. No smile or welcome when we walked in and they just seemed annoyed at everyone walking in. I understand being busy because I’ve worked in a restaurant before but setting the tone is so important.
