I am usually a very private person but I feel it is important to declare the extraordinary level of competence and caring that Dr. Yaffe possesses and practices daily. Thats consistency over the twenty years hes been my primary physician, even when I moved out of state.
I have been a patient of Dr. Yaffe’s for over 10 years. I have been extremely happy with him as my primary care physician. Dr. Yaffe has a great bedside manner and is extremely responsive if you have a problem. This is hard to find in NYC, especially when doctors try to get you in and out of the office very quickly. Additionally, his office always keeps up with the latest technology to ensure the best experience for the patient.
I have been a patient of Dr. Bruce Yaffe for over 20 years. He is one of the brightest persons I have ever met. He applies this intelligence in all aspects of his practice of medicine. Dr. Yaffe is a most caring, thorough, and patient practitioner. His medical associates and staff are also outstanding. When a specialist is referred , they are also exceptional. I feel that my health is assured under the guidance of Dr. Yaffe.
Terrible office, avoid unless desperate.First off, its never a good sign when you make an appointment for 1 time slot, and the reception tells you to arrive 15 minutes early. These people are always behind schedule and Ive visited them over half a dozen times for various appointments. 15 minutes is also a gentle misapproximation. It can be 20-30 minutes late too. The appointments themselves are also miserably slow. The doctors seem knowledgeable and good, so for whatever its worth my service was positive for the most part. But even then, at some point I noticed my cardiologist kept ordering more and more various tests and I realized hes just running up the bill because I have excellent health insurance that covers everything. None of the tests were really actually necessary but he kept selling the just in case line. The final straw for me was when the office tried to charge me for a deductible in the 100s of $ because of a problem with my insurance. It took me literal months of calling back and forth with my insurance provider and Yaffe Rudens staff to finally realize the problem was my primary care provider was not listed correctly and that I just needed to make an elementary change. The staff at billing were absolutely incompetent. Nobody knew what the problem was. Nobody made an effort to figure it out. Most of the staff wasnt even telling me the right information or transferring me back and forth between departments to avoid dealing with me. I was on the verge of going there physically and screaming at the staff until I miraculously got a competent member of the billing department that finally understood what the issue was. This was finally fixed after months of issues going back and forth and over a dozen hours on the phone with them. Conclusions: Office is slow, incompetent, rude, poorly managed, and uninformed. I had direct experience with 2 doctors. 1 was excellent but left 2 months after my physical. The other was devious and tried to run up my costs for no necessary reason. The final was straw was gross incompetence by the billing department that made me waste hours of my life. The headache of going to this office is NOT worth it.
I have been a patient of Dr Yaffe for over 10 years. In addition to being a caring and very thorough doctor, he runs an incredibly efficient practice. The usual protocol of waiting endlessly in a waiting room doesnt apply here - Im usually seen within 5-10 minutes of arrival. He also has a very wide-ranging staff of assistants and specialists so if I need to come on very short notice (ie, same day), theres always a very competent Physician Assistant that can see me. Hes also a great source of Referrals to various Specialist I have used over the years.Lastly, his office technology is always cutting edge. I get texts to remind me of appts, can book appts online for many of the staff, am able to email Dr Yaffe, though I dont abuse the privilege and am always impressed with the coordination of information throughout the office. In my mind, its a concierge experience offered within the insurance system and I only hope that with all the cost pressures hitting the industry, hes able to maintain such a first-class practice.
I did my annual physical test here few months ago. It was smooth from the appointment up to billing..I called for my appointment and the person who I talked to was really nice. I was able to book appointment right away. The day of my test, the front desk person (I think her name is Kate if I’m not mistaken) was really good by assisting me and the other patients (I guess because she was always smiling). Then I waited for my turn to be called for the test, the doctor was really good too. He was so nice and good. He asked if I have any complaints, so I told him what I was feeling and did all the test needed. And then, here comes the bill from them that I had received thru mail so i called the billing department, they answered my call right away as expected. I remember talking to a lady named Hannah, she was really nice, she spoke very softly and she did explained the bill clearly. She told me that I can it online or over the phone but since I’m already talking to her I paid it over the phone and received the receipt on my email right away. There was no hassle on my experience with Yaffe Ruden Associates. Highly Recommended👍🏻
The PA that saw me for my annual physical was great but I received about 20 messages for a referral that she didn’t make and wasn’t for me (so another patient never got their referral) and now I keep getting emails that I am past due for my annual physical (I had one a few months ago). It seems that they are constantly mixing up charts or records and when I reach out to them, I get no response. Mixing up patients records at a medical facility isn’t just unacceptable, it can be dangerous.
AVOID this practice -- all locations! Two main issues:1. Apparently, my GP moved to France. Only when I tried to get an appt. with her, for several months, Im told she MOVED TO FRANCE and comes back to NYC now and then.2. I booked with a new doctor, told them in advance I needed the flu and shingles vaccine. They told me I would have to go to Duane Reade to pick up the second shingles vaccine, and I would have to pay out of pocket. The first part of the shingles vaccine was administered in their office, covered by insurance a few months back, I need to go get the vaccine and bring to them? I went from the doctor office to Duane reade twice (no vaccine for me there) and finally gave up and went to CVS down the street for the two shots (covered by insurance) all in took less than ten minutes. Yaffee reception kept calling me to ask where I was--I said I told you if I go to Duane Reade the second time and the vaccine isnt there I will not be back. This is the worst healthcare service I’ve ever experienced, I found a new GP who confirmed they carry the flu shot and the shingles vaccine at their office (covered by insurance). Ill never return to them, ever. Please note: I have/had been a patient of this practice for over 3 decades.
They have redone teh waiting area, and it looks professional and nice. The doctors seemed nice as qwell.Billing has ALWAYS been an issue, so ALWAYS ask if they participate, not if they accept your insurance. The other issue is trying to get any refills on medications. (Not opioids mind you) You can leave a message. It will be ignored. You can use online portal. It will be ignored. You can contact their point person. It will be ignored. This is not good patient service.Maybe it is better if you use their concierge service, which may be the point. Because as an ordinary patient, they dont care to follow up.
I have been a patient of Dr. Yaffe for over 15 years - his office is incredibly efficient, most friendly and provides advanced technology for patients to access information regarding appointments, converse with doctors and review other health offerings the office provides.
I was a patient of dr Yaffe for close to 20 years and , sadly, I had to leave him and find another PCPI have tried several and no one NOT ONE PCP even comes remotely close to how great dr Yaffe was to me- He listened, he’s so smart ,his bedside manner is fantastic ,he’s extremely professional and I miss his level of treatment in every sense of the word.

2022-06-14Very high on Dr Yaffe and his staff, excellent service and helpfulness. Not so high on Castle Connolly who, despite positioning themselves as the business side cannot find a way to accept checks for payment. Although they would claim to be in a service business, they insist that those they serve conform to what is convenient and profitable for them.

2021-05-18Dr. Yaffe is as smart, thoughtful and experienced as it gets. Plus he happens to be a really great guy. In the 25 years that hes been my GP hes seen me through several major health crises, including a heart issue, melanoma and lymphoma. He referred me to wonderful specialists and worked closely with them to monitor my progress and help assure great outcomes. The fact that I am in perfect health today is largely due to him. Id give him 10 stars if I could.
