I use to really like to get lunch here once a week but last week my tacos were gross an my chicken quesadilla was so dry I just thrown it away so day I ordered just a chicken a cheese quesadilla with sour cream I go an pick it up I own a business down the street from it the girl at the counter was rude I pay for my lunch get back to my office take a bite of a end piece was just cheese okay its a end I do to bite a middle piece just cheese how do you mess that up I understand things happen am a business owner but two weeks in a Row isnt cool
The food here is unique. It expands the already fun burrito concept into a wonder if this works menu, that actually works. With unique options only found in elite establishments, this company clearly found its own path, featuring burritos, tacos, salads all with their own unique ingredients. A must have for sure. The prices are fair, and well worth the portion size.
Always a great experience here. Typically get take out from here but each time the food comes quick, and is always filled with delicious goodness. Can definitely recommend the Brotato, the Obomber, and if you’re in a spicy mood definitely try the Inferno. Eating in is also a great choice as well as the outside seating.
We walked inside with our face covered with our sweater. Kindly asked if they have extra masks just to order since we were going to eat there. Girls in the front were very rude kicking us out of the place. No need to be rude and treat people the way they do. Not the first time they are rude to us.
If you like burritos the size of an infant, this is the place for you (kidding not kidding, they are gigantic). Everyone is so upbeat and friendly here, and the food is phenomenal and well priced. They have a small but delicious beer selection, and the decor is fun and beachy. My only complaint is that the COVID response is a little disjointed - there is no indoor seating, only some tables outside, or the option to have your food delivered to your car, but it is hard to see how well that works. However, I absolutely appreciate the abundance of caution, and the food is always worth the wait.
Land and Sea burrito is where its at. There is a proper amount of shrimp and steak even after the re-opening. The sauce in the burrito is amazing and is always on point. Only issue I have is trying to order over the phone can be tough at times. Seems to be busy a lot, but I can understand that they must have orders over the phone often. I have recommended this place to countless people and they have all thanked me for recommending Bubbas to them. Lastly they have updated this place dramatically to fit in with area and they have done a nice job and the surfboards is a nice touch. Thumbs up and keep up the good work.
Bubbas to-go ordering was the best Ive seen since the whole quarantine started, easy efficient fast. The staff is always friendly and the food is always out of this world. I drove 3 hours from Pennsylvania for the land and sea burrito and it wont be the last time I make the trip!!
Gave me the wrong food and then was told I ordered wrong even though I clearly ordered a burrito, not a salad. I dont even eat the ingredients in the salad option.. Was told the food is already made and I have to order ( and pay) again. Girl that assisted me was extremely rude and pretty much told me theres nothing they can do even though she clearly wasnt paying attention to my order. Great customer service 🙄
The burritos are so good at this place. You cannot go wrong with any of the choices here. The burrito you get is a big size too so you are getting your moneys worth! Definitely give this place a try if youre near the area! Straight up one of the best places on the island!
Bubbas is another great local restaurant in the downtown Islip area. It does burritos and BEER, as good as anyplace.Personally, my favorite is the classic chicken taco, which comes on either a hard shell Taco, or soft corn tortilla, with a copious amount of hot sauce. My kids like the Bubbas bowl, and/or burritos. They have a great selection of beers, including some tasty IPAs. Its a laid-back casual place with a surf and sand motif. They recently remodeled to gain some space inside along with a proper bar, and added an outdoor area around back.Give Bubbas a try, you wont be disappointed.
If you are coming here, you should definitely be prepared for a long way. Not just because it is crowded, but because the food takes a while to prepare. However, dont let that keep you away. The burritos are excellent. Definitely large enough and good enough to split into two meals.
Good food and reasonable prices. They have a tasty array of the usual choices and their fish tacos are spectacular. Several local beers available in bottle or on tap and we were allowed to sample a pair I couldnt decide on. Not many places to sit and it caters to a younger crowd, but for take-out, you cant go wrong. Definitely worth it of youre up for a quick bite. It wont rock your world but I was far from disappointed. Would certainly return.
Every time I order a steak burrito for my son, it NEVER has any steak in it and this has happened on numerous occasions.I am almost certain the chefs are told to do this with the kids steak burrito, it has happened to many times for it to be a mistake or accidentally done.
This place is a double edged sword. The tacos are absolutely fantastic, I recommend the pork belly and fish tacos. I am not a fan of their burritos, they can be a tad dry. Their chowder is top notch and the pick up service is fast and friendly. This place is ALWAYS busy, they keep good service despite the volume. I loathe the parking on this strip of main though. There is additional parking behind the building but its not super well lit (I almost hit a man who should probably consider more reflective clothing if hes going to be sauntering willy nilly through a dark parking lot at night), and again, its high volume. Over all great choice for dinner, but getting there just bugs me, probably more than it does the average person.
Amazing food but sometimes not worth the wait. It’s annoying that you try to call to place an order and constantly get a busy signal. It would be nice if they had several phone lines to at least have an order of calls. Instead it feels like I’m trying to win concert tickets from a radio station. Otherwise some of the best burritos and tacos I’ve ever had. Definitely a must
This food is to die for. My absolute favorite place to eat, I have an obsession with the buffalo burrito. The 2 star rating is due to the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The employees are so incredibly rude, bubba’s employer’s please fix this because it is a shame to see such rude people working at such an amazing place. The workers here have no sense of manners. Lucky the food is so good otherwise I would have stopped coming here a long time ago due to the impoliteness and bad mannered people over the phone and in store.
Rude rude rude! Some of the rudest counter people that I’ve ever come across. Some of them have the worst attitude. There’s no organization or structure of lines to pick up an order. People are constantly cutting in front of each other. The staff could care less. Not worth the hassle for the mediocre food served.
This place is clean and awesome!! They just renovated and made it larger. I’ve been coming here for years. This restaurant is always in high demand at anytime you come, so you have to be patient. Patience however pays because the food is amazing and always consistent to the T. I strongly recommend the Idaho burrito with buffalo chicken it’s bomb! I’ve had a most of the menu and everything is always really good. Btw The caramel churros are wow. This is a must visit.
Used to like this place, thought the expansion would’ve made it easier to sit and Create more room. All they did was add a bar, still overwhelmingly packed, never a seat, I went in there on crutches due to in injury and people pushed and shoved me like I wasent even there. Teenagers scream out the number orders and you can barely hear.. if I wanted to see girls in skimpy clothing, i might as well go to hooters at least they bring out the food!
The food is delicious but the females at the front are real snappy and have an attitude towards customers. throwing food on the counter. They need better customer service. I was treated better customer service when I served in the Marine corps in Okinawa Japan. No I am not a Boomer, I am a millennial.
Food is delicious.. Fresh... Portions are enormous and pricing is incredibly reasonable. Its a takeout place with a few tables for those who choose to eat in. Weekends after 6pm its packed and the line goes straight through to out the door. Yes the food, portions and pricing are THAT good. Definitely going back..
We order from you a-lot well my kids do and i understand that delivery will take some time, but food was ice cold we had to heat it up in stove. if i wanted to cook i would have gone to the store. when i called to tell someone about it--- i was told it would be an hour or so, i do understand but she told me it was worm when the delivery guy took it. (Really)she could had said sorry or i will look into it or something to that nature well it was worm are you kidding me !!!! we spend a lot of money there 60 bucks just todaythe food is really good but your staff is well lets leave it at that.food i would give 5 stars all day staff needs an education on public relations.
Best burrito place on Long Island. The burritos are not big by any means, though they are larger than most places. There is usually a wait, so get there before youre hungry. The worker bees appear to be understaffed and overworked, which is indicative of poor management. 3/5 would eat there again.Update, lines are even longer with and no space to sit down as theyre always full. Poor management. Wont be going back.
Very sad to have to write a negative review. Tonight we were told there was a 2 hour wait for delivery.. no problem. However, when we received our food it was cold. When I called to let them know, the answer I got from Kaitlin the manager was we told you it was a 2 hour wait so if the food is in the car for 2 hours then there’s no way to keep it warm.. she said they have no control over that.. REALLY?! I don’t mind waiting two hours but I expect food that is at least warm..who wants food that was in a car for 2 hours. That’s a ridiculous answer.. imagine ordering a pizza delivery and you get it cold!? We are regular customers because we live their food, but so disappointed tonight!! Makes us not want to order anymore.SO UPDATE!! I was very happy that within the hour of calling Bubbas and getting disappointing customer service, Amanda called me back and apologized for the cold food and said the manager understands what I was saying and is going to credit us for the mishap.. we feel so much better.. we love their food.. and glad we can continue to be regulars!! Thanks Amanda. FIVE STARS!!
Great place meaning the quality of the food. Not worth the crazy hype tho lol it’s a homerun in combination of ingredients for sure. Phone is perpetually busy, as most people have reviewed, so in person ordering is sometimes necessary so definitely check the non busy google times AND pop your claustrophobia pills before u squeeze yourself in this small spot. Outside dining is available in the warmer weather which is cool out back
The food here is great. However they are only taking phone orders and i live 30 mins away. I had called several times trying to get through and could not get through. I took the drive and went in to explain that i couldnt get through and wanted to place an order. I was told i just have to keep trying. I sat in the parking lot for 40 mins and literally called 1,115 times trying to get through. Mathematically speaking i should have been able to get through and place an order but this was not the case. By far one of the worst experiences ive had ordering food from any place.
Love their huge burritos! Options for vegetarians are available too. Ask for their hot sauce flavors (theres this tasty mango flavor one too) If you want to order via phone for pickup or delivery you may have to call a few times. They get very busy since theyre one of the busiest restaurants on main street.
First time coming and we will definitely be back. After quick look online I was happy to see you can order burritos naked no tortilla. Lot of options. I went with the naked Chicka chicka boom boom.Lettuce bottomCrispy chickenCrisp baconSliced avacadoSignature sauceNext time Id ask for sauce on side. It was a bit heavy for me.
A great alternative to larger chains such as Chipotle. The Bubb salad was fresh and the steak was well seasoned. There is still a crowd even after the recent expansion/renovation. There was a 25 minute period on my order for pickup. However, I walked in and walked right out.
I regret not taking a picture but take my word, this place is awesome. My boyfriend and I split a burrito that consisted of chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, and French fries. It was so filling and so good. I would go back again because I want to try what other amazing concoctions they have to offer. The place itself is small but trendy and cute. It was busy but not over baring. We went on a Friday afternoon. The town around it is nice for a day where you want to get lunch, ice cream, and candy.
If anyone rated this establishment anything other than 5 stars then they are not only lying to you but to themselves as well. This place could shut down every single burrito place on the east coast. From bite to flush every moment of this meal is enjoyable and worth snapchatting to your friends. Highly recommend.
The burritos were amazing.Place is busy for a reason, they have a big selection of mexican food you can get and I havent had anything I havent liked. Price is very good and they are decently quick at filling orders for takeout. Whenever I visit my friends in NY I know I have to get food here.
The food here as everyone states; amazing! I have been coming here for years to pick up food as I never have time to come in abd sit down to enjoy the beachy atmosphere. I came here last night with my friend and sat at their new bar to an inattentive bartender. She asks us what we wanted the second we sat down without providing menus. We requested that she give us a minute to decide and we never really saw her after that. She was chatty with the other customers she seemed to know and was eating at the bar, but avoiding the other customers. My friend and I had to ask another employee in order to get a beer.
Every time I had went in there since their remodel was terrible long waits and over priced their food is good but not worth a wait and now during the covid situation they only allow phone orders which is understandable however I tried calling numerous times and keep getting a busy signal so you have to get lucky to order there. You think they would have an online ordering system which they dont its terrible I guess they dont want business.
For a burrito bar We felt it a bit over priced. We ordered a chicken Quesadilla, 2 soft tacos, a beef burrito and a special board fried chicken spicy burrito. No drinks and spent almost $40. There is almost no searing inside, with only 4 or 5 tables. The chicken was very dry in the burrito, tacos and quesadilla to the point we really couldnt enjoy them. The restaurant was recommended by someone we know but its truly unlikely that we will return. For $40 we can get very fresh sushi or something else. This is burritos for heavens sake. Youre not packing them with anything expensive when using 85% rice and beans. We also its not taco bell, but still, every item on the menu must have some of the main st. Rent calculated into it for what it cost.
I cant exaggerate how good their burritos are! I drive from Wantagh almost every other week to get the Buffalo Chicken Burrito. Would definitely recommend this place. The only con would be the wait on certain times and lack of sitting area but I always take mine to go; so not my problem :P
Burritos tacos are good too wish they had an online service to make online orders or maybe if they were hooked up into doordash or ubereats who make it a little bit better. They need more phone lines because its always busy and you have to call constantly just to get someone on the phone. If the food wasnt so great it would be a waste of time
Returned to the “new and improved” Bubba’s Burrito Bar for the first time in several months! I like the updated version, but because of the constant yelling when the orders are ready it gave me an instant headache, and annoyed the rest of my group so we ran outta there without ordering!!! Maybe Bubba’s should invest in some kind of digital/electronic system. The place is noisy enough, and I’m sure they can afford it!!! What a shame...won’t be back!
I love bubbas and have been going there for 2 years at least 3x a month because of how great it is, and I ordered today and my order was wrong and they refunded my money and remade my order. I think this was so nice and they went above and beyond! I appreciate their amazing service so much! Love this place and everything they do!
Food is always top notch! Although I will say, even after the remodel, the lines and space are atrocious! Plan to wait for a table, or just take it to go. Guilt Trip is forever favorite. With all the burrito bars that have come behind it, Bubbas still holds the top spot. Fat Boys in Massapequa, a close second.
Somehow worse after the renovation. All they did was add a bar (who cares), and somehow it seems like theres less tables. Also, now they have a very bad loud speaker so while waiting online all you hear is a scratchy ear-piercing loud announcement of the number that is being called. The food is great of courseeee they got Greta food, but I can barely read the menu due to the writing style + I have bad eyes. Should have handheld menus so people with vision issues can read what they want with no issues.
I LOVE this place! Best Mexican food ever. They really feed you here most of the time you will only eat half of what you order and will be asking for containers. The only problem is its SO crowded! You cant find a place to sit and end up taking it to go most nights. Dont think you will be smart and just call ahead and grab the food it will take you 47 tries to get through on the phone.
Always amazing food! So filling, gigantic servings for a cheap and reasonable price! If you plan to order pickup or delivery though, start calling 15 minutes before youre ready otherwise youre not getting through on their phone line. Place is ALWAYS packed, so plan ahead!
Ordered the classic burrito with shrimp and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Imagine a chipotle burrito but bigger, I could not even finish the whole thing. I also ate the homemade chips which were delicious. The menu is extensive and they offer quesadillas, a kids menu, signature burritos, a burrito bar, a taco bar, and a salad bar.The staff is friendly and they work very quickly to make sure you are taken care of. There is (limited) parking behind the restaurant and it is located on a cute little street :)
Not going to lie there is always a wait but the line goes quickly and the food comes out within reasonable time. This is not a place to come and expect a seat because of how busy it is. However, the food is always delicious and I wouldn’t want a burrito from anywhere else
Had my first “Bubba’s” fish taco today, I must say, I’m sorely disappointed. It was DRASTICALLY under seasoned (by that I mean not at all), the slaw wasn’t “dressed” with anything before putting it on the taco so it was just a whole lot of raw cabbage. The “Baja” sauce was just pink mayonnaise, and the fish had NO taste! On the plus, the portion size was really good.I had extremely high expectations because everyone I asked raved about this place. Next time I’ll look a little deeper before trying something new.-Unhappy Customer 😟
I would NOT recommend ordering take out from this place. They either don’t know/don’t care how to take your order over the phone - my order came completely wrong - and it takes over an hour fifteen minutes. Plus they are rude about their own mistakes. Run by kids maybe? I wouldn’t trust what was in the food. Too bad for a local place.
BEST KEPT SECRET!I highly recommend going into eat! Great atmosphere - boho beach style. Always fresh, and always on time with their delivery.*** I didnt give them 5 stars because their phone service is by far the WORST. No matter what day of the week or time of day that you call there is always (ALWAYS) a 15-20 min wait after the initial hello Id like to place an order for delivery then to only come back to be nasty and abrupt. If the food wasnt so stellar I wouldnt put up with their phone service. *advice to mgmt- get a new girl to do the phones*
My girlfriend always insists we visit Bubbas when she comes to visit. A local staple, Bubbas churns out enormous burritos with an almost tropical theme. With modest prices, fresh fountain drinks, a small selection of craft beers on tap and more domestic macros available in bottles or cans, Bubbas is the quintessential paradise for those with a huge appetite. The Brotato is my go to order; with marinated steak, fried potatoes, onion rings, cheese, and bacon in a bayou sauce, whats not to like? Be warned, during traditional lunch and dinner hours: there will be a line, there will be limited seating, and the phone will most likely be off the hook. That being said, its a fantastic American Burrito bar that every Long Islander should visit at least once.
So first things first, we all know that a true Mexican burrito is traditionally filled with meat and beans period! However us Gringos like our burritos filled with a variety of fixens. Bubbas hits every note, and hit them well. They take every ingredient and treat them individually first. The rice is seasoned perfectly, your choice of chicken, steak, shrimp...etc! The front of the house staff is fast and precise on taking orders. Orders are filled fast and correct every time. Refill soda fountains, or your choice of beer! The cardboard straws tell us they care about the environment. Dinning room is definitely limited, however they are quickly expanding into the property next door. Centrally located in the town of Islip parking can be tricky, however there is municipal lot in the back. So in conclusion, If your a fan of Moes or Chipotle you might be blown away by Bubbas!!!!
The food is okay. I dont think it warrants the crowds, but to each his own. I think Salsa Salsa in PJ and Oakdale are 100 times better. I mean Bubbas dosent even have a house hot sauce. My biggest complaint, they never answer the phone. Either its a busy signal or it just rings. They always just laugh it off when I come in and complain. So calling in an order is a problem. In my opinion driving there, waiting 20 minutes to place your order then waiting 10 to 15 more for your mediocre take out is a joke.
There is only one phone line for this entire take out restaurant (I asked). Believe it or not I was calling this evening from 6:25pm - 7:05pm. Then it takes 45 minutes to an hour for the food to come. The food is good, but the fact that you can never get someone to answer the damn phone is just short of infuriating. I finally managed to get someone just as I was ready to give up on my 53rd call. yes you read that right. I kept hoping Id catch them in between calls. She then tells me because Im JUST north of the split that theres an extra $5.00 charge for delivery. I will never order from them again, the food is good but not worth all that aggravation just to order it. Totally unnecessary.
Bubbas is a burrito and taco spot on a level all its own. The value per dollar you receive here is unparalleled. 10-11 dollars gets you a burrito the size of a small baby! I have yet to order something from here and came away feeling that it was simply just ok. Everything is fantastic, between the meats, rice, and vegetables they use to the specialty menu items are all unique and diverse enough to give you a great selection weather youre looking for something slightly healthy (great salad and bowl choices) or completely indulgent (looking at you guilt trip). Everyone Ive introduced to this place became an immediate fan and always ends up going again.
Its always packed in there. Even after the expansion. And I was more than prepared to say is how overrated the food was and yada yada yada. When in fact everything is delicious. I was very happy with everything that we had for lunch and look forward to going back in the future!
I’m really sad to be leaving this review bc I have been a HUGE bubbas fan for years. I was counting down the days until they reopened and I could have a burrito again. My first order since the Reno was a shrimp burrrito and veggie burrito. They forgot to put guacamole on both & I literally counted 4 small shrimp in the entire burrito. I let it go bc they just reopened & a week later ordered the same combo. They remembered guac, but my husbands veggie burrit was literally ALL broccoli?? And this time I counted 5 shrimp in mine. I took 5 massive bites of pure rice before encountering a shrimp.I’m so disappointed and heartbroken!! The old bubbas had such generous portions. One extra star for actually answering the phones. I’ll be trying it again in a few months, and hopefully can update this review for something better.
A burrito bar with a Cali twist. Not your Dads burrito bar, bur you can take him here. Seating indoors is limited but there is some out back too. All the burritos are oversized monsters loaded with goodness. Occasionally they will host a special burrito based on a local holiday or whim of the cooks. One such creation is the Brotato. Its successor is the Guilt Trip.Note, there are lines and there is takeout. Be prepared to wait 30 min to put in your order on busy nights. But, its worth it.
Amazing little GEM nestled in the heart of East Islip, just a few steps from Bay Shores MAIN St. The food is phenomenal there is nothing to compare it to. The burritos are the size of a forearm and are stacked with quality produce. Ordered the Idaho, french fries smothered with cheese, sour cream, and chicken wrapped in a warm tortilla. This baby doesnt fall apart like some other Burrito *cough* Chipotle they go ahead and let that luxurious sucker sit on the flat top to crisp up and handle all that mother load inside. The lines are outrageous so be sure to order ahead of time. When you call, it takes a while as well since people are usually calling off the hook. Highly recommend this place authentic tacos and burritos with a twist. True stoner paradise. Ps patience is a virtue especially in this case worth the wait.
Wish you could give half a star. Love the food here, but its not consistent. Sometimes theres too much sauce, other times not enough. Seating arrangements are not the most convenient since its tiny and people take forever to eat, but there is space out back... next to the construction dumpster.
The best restaurant in the Islip area. Ask anyone who lives in the Islip area. Incredible, huge burritos that taste awsome. Great tacos, the best house-made chips. The menu is simple, but theres something for everyone, even the pickiest eaters, vegetarians, gluten-free people, and even people who dont like spicy food. You can have anything added or subtracted from any menu items, no problem. They have great local beers and a supercool surfer vibe. You can come as you are, but dont be freaked about finding parking, waiting in line, or having to get lucky to get a table. Youre not the 1st person to discover Bubbas, but everything will be alright. Consider takeout in their eco-consciuos takeout containers.
This was Ok at the very very most, my friend and I went because we heard the hype about the burritos. We got the Classic, and Buffalo with two medium drinks. It was 23$ and change, the staff (the two girls we spoke with) were really rude and kind of awkward and I even noticed they were rude to other guests. After that when we ate the classic was warm and my buffalo Burrito was room temperature... I began with a few bites and noticed everything was cold and the food was completely disproportionate. The only warm part was literally the bread. The burrito consisted of fried chicken strips rice and cheese and French fries I was so disappointed I pulled a fry out and took a bite n noticed it was old these were cooked probably at like 1PM and it was 4:30PM so it tasted old and flavorless same with the chicken there were some part I just had to spit out I forced myself to eat half because I paid for it, but at one point I couldnt it was SUPPPEER Salty and I just gave up Im unbelievably disappointed by this place it was a horrible experience.
Awesome little burrito bar, staff seems pretty professional especially during a rush; place is kinda cramped and cold during winter since the doors are constantly opening due to the popularity, but they are getting a much needed expansion soon that should help with the cramped feeling.
The food is great when you can get it. My husband and I have went there twice and could not even get service because it was so packed. If you try to order by phone it takes you hours to get through then when it finally rings and you place your order the girls who answer the phone say in a very nasty tone you know its going to be over an hour right?. I am sorry but if I was the owner I would not want to make my customers think we are incapable of delivering their food. It feels like they dont want to take my order when I call. If you know you are this busy because your food is that good get more then one line so when people are trying to order they do not have to listen to a busy signal for hours on end. NOT GOOD SERVICE>
I had the BRO-RiTTo .... Best burrito I have ever had! It has steak, fries, bacon ....ect ect.... I cant believe the flavor that came out of 1 burrito....I have a huge stomach and was almost unable to finish my burrito .... I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for an amazing meal! Not a fan of the customer service to be honest but not surprised....
This isnt your traditional Mexican experience, but they have a solid Americanized take on burritos et al. Food is always prepared fresh and reasonably priced. Seating is tight until they expand due to demand. One of the best things about Bubbas is that they have the best beer choices of any place in Islip (including the bars). A haven for the craft fan.
Love the food and the staff are friendly. but there where it stop there for me.1st thing is that the food doesnt include calories on the menu. 2nd when you try to order on the phone you cant get through i tried for days and the line was always busy .and if you are even lucky to place a order it a good 45 min to 1hr 20 in for your food to be ready .3th if you decide to take a ride there lots of luck trying to find a parking spot .4th if you decide to eat there the line are to long because they only have only register to help the customers. 5th there not enough tables to accommodate a moderate crowd that eats there .6th it seems that the only people that clean the tables is the customer that sit there.my over all experience is that the food is good but the experience sucks. but for my money and taste i will stick to energy fuel in deer park where you dont have to wait a hour to get through to place your order on line or wait a a hour to pick up your food it usually ready in 15 min where they have a bigger variety on the menu and calories and the prices are affordable so what do you have to lose give it a try.your stomach and pocket will thank you i give it 5 stars ,ps while writing this review i kept trying to get through to bubbas but the phone is still busy so there you have it
Great Food! , but the worst customer service. Phone is always busy. Either it gets to crazy for them to handle the call volume so they take the phone off the ringer or they answer phone take ur address then put u on hold and never come back.. Its a shame so great food, but not worth the hassle.. The aggravation its not. My family and I were loyal Bubba customers since the beginning, but now its a thing of the past.
This place is known for 3 things. Burritos, beers, and long waits. If you go during prime time it can take over 40 minutes. The beer selection is choice always having local brews on tap or nice bottles. The burritos are large and in charge. Not always a classic mexican type more a tex-mex type burrito. Their obomber and guilt trip are the tops. Having French fries, mozzarella sticks, fried chicken, cheese, dressing etc. That will fill you twice. Another pro tip is ordering the chips from here for $1 they give you more then enough chips to share and also make great dippers into the burrito if it falls apart. Love going here to treat myself after a long week or just want to veg out.
As a young man I heard tales of a burrito place in a far off land that preformed miracles. I was young, foolish and naive and never made my way to these so-called “messiah” burritos. One day a friend offered me a ride and I finally decided to come. I was never a huge burrito guy so when I went I got a quesadilla and it was pretty good. But then I went again and my friends convinced me to get a burrito and I got the Guilt TripTM. Upon entrance my mouth was transported into a world unknown. The burrito took my taste buds on to a whole new plane of existence. My heart skipped a beat, I wasn’t sure if it was from the unholy amount of cholesterol entering my body or for my new found love. It was as if I had been blind my whole life and now I could see. My friend John used to be horribly disfigured before he went to Bubbas Burrito Bar, and now he plays Uncle Jessie in famed television show, Full House. I was a devout Catholic before my trip to Bubbas but after the Guilt Trip, I know I have seen true heaven and it is located in Islip. As Albert Einstein once said, “Two things are infinite: the universe and Bubba’s Burritos; and Im not sure about the universe.”
The food is excellent, but the fact that they only have a single phone line is annoying. I literally tried calling for an hour to place an order. In that hour, I called 57 times. Each time was busy. There needs to be a way to order by SMS or email, as to enable fast pickup.
I’m really disappointed.... they should clarify there’s two different kind of nachos, I was expecting the big mountain full of guacamole, sour cream, cheese, beans etc... but instead I got the WEDGES literally a flat tortilla w ground beef and cheese 😑they didn’t clarify the difference and it’s not very clear in the menu either
When first opened awesome food and service large portion remolded and totally different smaller portions higher prices wouldnt mind paying however since reopening went their three times and all three times one part of each visit order was wrong.now we have the food as takeout so pain in the neck to have order corrected.was once five stars no more.

2021-09-19Tacos were decent (I had the shrimp, Buffalo chicken and veggie) the best of the three was the Buffalo chicken. My wife ordered the veggie burrito. It was a bit dry so we ordered a side of sour cream. With that being said, the burrito was the best thing I had (adding sour cream and some cholula sauce) I didn’t really have anything special.

2022-06-14This place is always on the money. If you’re hungry and in the mood for a burrito, look no further than Bubbas. Each and every time we order, the food is cooked to perfection and is responsibly priced. I would recommend ordering ahead as it can get quite busy but what do you expect from a place that has the best burritos in town.

2021-04-29Went to Bubbas Burrito Bar on a recommendation. Ok. It is a quick lunch and yeah an extra star for the young lady server with the bling ring. Its fast food and fast order. You stand on line and either, check the website via cell phone QR or read the board above the counter. You order pay and get a receipt. 10 or so minutes later, your order is ready.Seating outside. Didnt see recycling bins but counter person took glass bottle saying they will recycle it. (not sure if that means 69 in the garbage) They even had a rain barrel with a spigot outside. Ramp and easy access from back. Little tables and chairs in a nook and cranny narrow backyard. It works.Take the food from the bags with the plastic silverware and the bottles of drink, chips and salsa, and your are all set to eat.The special was a corn chowder. It actually tasted pretty good. The Surf and Turf- recommended by a worker there, wrapped in a burrito cover, was to say, ok. The steak meat was very chewy, the rice sticky and the sauce eh.A place to go and get a lunch. Yeah, it was actually really busy with what seems to be a good following of people who enjoy this type of food.Ya know that old rhyme about beans, beans good for your heart, the more you eat... Well maybe being outside was a good idea after all. **)

2020-10-25Experienced my first burrito 🌯 ever last week here, at the age of 29! 🤣 As someone whos gluten free, not many options.I found this place by accident thanks to coworkers. It was delicious, and they happily answered all my questions. Even shared my excitement! Will definitely be going again!

2021-11-16Great food, great flavor, great value, nice environment. There can be a wait at times, at other times you can get your food fairly quickly. I always get the land and sea burrito which comes with steak and shrimp, but there are several tasty taco and burrito options to order from. I love the beach/surfer style decor and lighting which make for a nice environment, and theres plenty of hot sauce on every table. All of the young ladies who work there are friendly and beautiful, ESPECIALLY the bartender, Gia, who is stunning, and has some great assets 😍. The bar itself is nice too. Come support a great local business and have a great meal at a more than fair price and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. 👍🏿👍🏿

2019-11-29This spot is always super packed, which is usually a promising sign. The ambiance is real cozy and they did a great job on the renovations. However, it becomes frustrating when trying to find a seat. Especially when you see several tables with people just sitting and chatting having already finished their food. Rude. The food is not at all what I expected. Nothing about it is “Mexican” nor a “burrito”. This is hungover “grease-trucks” style food. They dump re-fried stale fries and onion rings in the burrito, no white rice (sorry but that’s not an option for your burrito) and pretty stale steak. Overall I nearlyVomited. Super bland as well, I noticed most people drench their burritos in hot sauce. What’s the point in that? This was my second time here, tried to give it another shot. Safe to say, it’s not my cup of tea.
