Hi, we booked a rental in Santo Domingo for month with Budget. I asked the agent whether there are any more charges and if this is the the amount to pay. He said Yes. We arrived in Santo Domingo Las Americas airport and the agent there told us that there is another insurance charge of $30 per day. This was ridiculous but we paid. Other customers had the same issue and left but we had no choice.Budget worldwide customer service told me that they cannot take off the additional charge. This is very upsetting and I cannot get over the fact that I booked through Budget directly and they told me misleading information. Never go with Budget again!
This had to be the easiest, most convenient experience Ive had with getting a rental. I called the location to verify a few things before booking and they were incredibly helpful. I prepaid online for the lower rate and had no problem picking up the car. Pick up and drop off were incredibly fast. The staff member I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable. The charges were all accurate and the amount they held was released without issue within a day. I will choose & recommend this location without question! Thank you!
Booked and reserved and prepaid in full online for a 4 day thanksgiving weekend with family 2months in advance. Got my text to pickup my vehicle at this location and it’s ready the day before. The day of pickup I go to the counter and give my license and card I used to purchase the rental and I was told that I had to use a credit card instead in my visa debit card . I don’t use credit cards so I had no choice but to lose my rental and change my plans thanks to budget which should have not processsed my debit charge in the first place and should have stated credit cards only. Also it’s took me more than an hour to get my refund on the phone waiting for a supervisor to approve my refund. Very disappointed with budget.
Being a regular customer of both Budget and Avis, this is one of the Pickup and Drop Off points for me. Compared to other Budget locations, this is one of the very best. Staff is very helpful and takes their time to help you, in a way that you do not feel like just another. They are very correct, and the nice part is, that even after a longer period of time, they still know you by name! The cars Ive picked up here, where always in tip-top shape, clean and ready to roll. That means that the cleaning crew also put pride in their work! I want to thank the staff of this branch, for their excellent product, their professionalism and their interest in their customers!
I have been a customer of budget for years even though I have to travel to Newburgh to get a good deal. I am a business renter but limited to 120 miles a day???? I do business in nyc but nonetheless I love the fact that even though I have to go to the airport they treat me like a valued customer two thumbs up for budget at swf airport.....
I have never been treated so badly in my life! I made my reservation several days ahead of time. When it came to the day I was supposed to pick up the car I even got a text saying come pick up your car. I called them to remind them that they were supposed to pick me up and I was to bring the driver back. I was told they had absolutely no cars! They refused to do anything to make up for the situation and I had a plane to catch. WHAT A MESS THEY CAUSED!!!
Good experience renting a vehicle. The only thing I can see needing improvement would be they don’t get the car for you . You have to walk to a lot and find it, also not clear instructions when dropping it back off. The staff was nice explained everything and the vehicle was nice. Would recommend and would use them again .
I had originally rented from Enterprise. When i got to the airport i was told i needed to call a number and that a shuttle bus would come and pick me up. waited for 20 minutes and no shuttle arrivedThe staff at Budget was promote, professional and got me out in a few minutes
Be extremely careful with this car rental location.I rented a car overnight with them only to receive a letter in the mail several weeks later charging me $250 for an alleged smoke odor in the vehicle. I am not a smoker nor was there anyone else in the car who was a smoker. They produced some phony photographs of ashes in the vehicle that appear to be crumbs in the back window. When I returned the vehicle to the location, there was no one available to inspect the car with me, and I made the mistake of leaving without having the car inspected because I was in a hurry.The manager at the location was extremely hard to get ahold of and unhelpful in resolving the issue as she took the easy route by referring me to corporate. Corporate was equally unhelpful. I have been unsuccessful in resolving the dispute and am now facing a $250 charge for something I did not do. I feel that I have been unfairly targeted by this car rental location.
The staff was wonderful. I reserved online and was met with wonderful customer service.The facility at SWF has changed and this was the only thing I did not like. The rental cars are too far away and the bays are poorly marked buy company. This is not budgets fault, but the Port Authority, I am guessing. It still needs to be remedied. It will be just terrible in bad weather.
WORST CARS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! BEWARE!! 0 STARSMy plan was to drive from Pensacola FL to Newburgh NY for the Holidays, and for the birth of my son that is due on the 28th of Dec. Timing was really important with this trip knowing my child could come at any minute.I made a reservation two weeks prior for a SMALL SIZE SUV that I was to pick up from a Pensacola FL location. When I arrived to pick up my rentalI was told I was getting a Free Upgrade which was a MID SIZE SUZ (worst gas mileage). So you would think Id be happy with an upgrade... not in this case. A small size SUV was requested because of the gas mileage advantage. I took the vehicle without much fuss.I left Pensacola around 2am to avoid traffic and to cover as much road as possible. About 2hrs into the drive, somewhere in Alabama, I noticed the suspension on the car started to feel really loose around turns at speed of 65mph or more. NOTE: speed limit was 70mph. I pulled over to check the suv out and to see if another Budget Rental Car was in the area. At the time everything was closed so I called Budgets main reservation line. I was told there was no vehicles available in the area because of the holiday. I had two options, wait for roadside service and hope that they could find me another vehicle or make it to Charlotte Airport where my chances of swapping the car out was high. Keep in mind that Im a 6ft black man pulled over at a shady dark rest stop (4am) in the middle of Alabama. Probably a good idea a pressed on to Charlotte, having to drive slower than ever. The drive took me an extra 2.5-3 hours.I arrived in Charlotte around noon and was exhausted. I checked into a hotel close to the airport, closed my eyes for a bit and then headed to the airport when I woke. When I got there the line was extremely long, everybody needed a rental for the holiday. So I waited In line for over an hour only to find out that they only had Pick up trucks, sports cars and mini vans, none of which equal good gas mileage like the SMALL SIZE SUV I originally requested.Still too tired, I went back to the hotel and slept into the next morning. I headed out around 4am with the plan to make it to Newburgh before 4pm (turn-in). I ran into all types of traffic and ended up arriving two-hrs late. I was told over the phone Id be charged an extra day now because I didnt make it by 4pm.When I arrived at the counter I spoke to a representative Named MARY. She told me there was a note left by someone I talked to earlier about being late and she was to give me a day off (the third day I was two hours late on). After I explained my story and my experience to the snarky customer service rep (Mary), I was told there was nothing she could do and no manager was available to talk to. Wow!!! I was also threatened to have the airport State Troopers called over because I was a requesting to speak with a manager and had no more words for her. So after explaining ethical business practices and the responsibility of a manager she finally called here manager on the phone, only to explain a bs story to her first. I was later allowed to speak with the manager, who was very professional and polite, and was offered two days off and the difference in the gas that wasnt in the vehicle when I picked it up.Please dont think that 2 days free is doing me a favor. I was given an unsafe vehicle, forced to get a hotel room, wait over an hour for another car, receive a mini van that guzzled gas, stuck in unplanned traffic, late and charged full price for unsatisfactory service. Wow!!!!Mary, I wish that sympathy, ethics and common sense existed in your body. I hope that in the future your decision making ability is heightened and that you can see right from wrong. Even after you threatened to call the state troopers on me for educating you on ethical business practices, I still would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
No auto manual to learn about the controls. Was asked to return to the terminal for another car only to find no cars come with manuals. Caused me to drive back 4 miles for nothing. I spent 3/4 hour figuring the controls (mainly navigation system). Otherwise, everything was fantastic.
Avoid this car rental company!!! I was surprised when we rented a car here recently. There was no staff to check the condition of the car with us. We checked the vehicle ourselves and did not see any damage so we proceeded with our rental. When we returned there was no staff member that checked the condition of the car with us. My husband and I left the vehicle and then flew home. A few days later we received a letter from the car rental stating there was a chip on the windshield and we were responsible. There was no chip when we left the car!!!. We checked over the car ourselves before we left it. I would avoid this car rental business. They do not check the condition of the car with you when you rent it so they can falsely accuse you later! There was no damage to the vehicle when we left it!
Recommended by jetBlue as part of their partnership and reserved an economy car was given a Nissan Sentra. Excellent vehicle price as quoted was price paid. Had an excellent driving experience and also had EZPass as traveled quite extensively. Getting the vehicle and returning it was seamless experience. Recommend Budget highly for car rental on your travels.
Rented sedan. Could not even get out of my drive with snow. Called Budget at Swf and asked about upgrading to Suv. Told I would hav to lose 4 days prepaid fee and start new rental. Agent was nasty refused to let me speak with supervisor. Cost me train cost and hotel as not able to use rental. After 30 years with Budget will never use company again
Our rental experience was smooth - no issues whatsoever. You cant ask for more than that. But, I do have to add that what made the experience a solid 10 was Tamisha, who processed our rental. She was, quite simply, awesome! She got us everything we needed, gave us all the instructions we needed, had us on our way in no time - all with her outstanding personality! Budget is fortunate (as were we) to have Tamisha on representing them!!! Thank you Tamisha!
Awesome. Watched counter girl Cynthia really help a woman renting a car and she had tons of luggage and a mom with Alzheimers in a wheel chair and Cynthia solved her dilemmas. Then she helped us by having the car brought to the side entrance. This was during the heat wave and we are senior citizens. Awesome employee. 10+++++. Sincerely, Janet McInerney. 7/19/19
I prepaid for my rental car in full. When I arrived Budget would not rent to me because credit score, However I have rented cars many times from them.Then to add insult to injury, they kept $150 and only refunded $50 to me. THEY STOLE FROM ME. THAT IS HOW I FEEL . NOW I AM GETTING THE RUN AROUND TO GET MY REFUND IN FULL.

2022-06-03I dealt with Misha who was waiting for me after hours! (The car rental closes at 5:00 pm.. My flight did not come in until 6:30pm). She was pleasant, polite and professional.. After not having such a great flight coming in to Stewart, it was so refreshing to deal with a person who was genuinely upbeat and nice!! What great customer service!! I will definitely use Budget again!! Thank you!!

2022-01-24I rented a car for 12 days (my car was being repaired). My car was finished before the 12-day rental period, and I returned the rental car on the fifth day. I called the rental agency clerk, and she said that the prepaid is the charge even though I did not keep the car for the total time. I was expecting to be charged only for five days as the clerk told me to give it a couple of days to refund what I did not use. I will never use Budget again and will not recommend Budget to anyone I know. I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know not to use Budget. I should have been told that I would be charged the full amount even if I turned the car in early. And the car smelled like smoke and I dont smoke.

2022-06-26Recently rented, at time of pickup I was not pleased with condition of vehicle. I called inside and was told there was nothing available and they would call back when something became available. They never called back. Windshield wipers in poor condition...only one side working . Brakes and suspension issues. All issues reported to customers service.

2021-12-27Both cars we were given were disgusting. They werent cleaned, had things left behind, and wasnt sanitized. They are supposed to clean these cars, particularly during A PANDEMIC. We now will have to pay out of pocket to get it cleaned. Shameful.

2021-12-29Budget called me the morning of my reservation to confirm and to let me know that they close at 5 pm (my reservation pick up time was 5 pm). I appreciated the call as well as having everything ready for a quick pick up when I arrived (early).

2022-02-19First time that ive ever gotten bad service< i dont know who this lady was but she was very rude with her responses, wont get any cars if im in a call with her, this was my preffered option because of staff and pricing but now im not sure... cant have employees with that attitude< will not rent cars on the weekend, the didnt pick up the phone after i tried calling again...

2021-09-14CS is a joke, make sure all your stuff is right when booking because if you change later they won’t honor what they said and won’t send updated information sheet. The car was nice and the price was great until you return it and get hit for a wrong drop off location and time fee when you called and had it changed.

2021-11-02I had a car where the left tire kept losing air. When I filled it to the right PSI (32 PSI) the sensor kept saying it was at 24 PSI about a every few miles down the road. I call for road side asst. and I never got help, matter of fact they hung up on me twice. Im not sure if it was a mistake or on purpose. I was so disappointed.

2021-06-25The notes regarding fuel, and cleaning the car were offensive, plus i had to walk a long distance to get the car, and again to drop the keys off after returning it. I did pay to have the car washed prior to return and provided a receipt of the gas purchased, because of the notes. Also the left front tire was so worn that it was not safe to drive when it rained. No one inspected the car upon return. I will think twice prior to renting from Budget
