The man at the counter, I believe his name is Edwin (not sure on this but it was absolutely the man at the counter) was so personable, so knowledgeable and made this the easiest most enjoyable and quickest rental experience I have ever had. I have gained a life long loyal customer.
By far the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. I rented from here and drove the car a mile to my apartment. The car was dead when I tried to start it again. I called Budget’s roadside assistance and they assured me that since it was clear the car was faulty off the lot I would not have to pay for the rental or the roadside assistance. I drove the car a total of 30 miles with headlights flickering and interior electronics cutting in and out. I was then issued a refund EXCEPT 3 weeks later Budget charged me an unauthorized amount of $218 for roadside despite the folks telling me it would be covered. I’ve rented from several companies all over the country and I’ve never been fraudulently charged like this (especially for a vehicle that was clearly faulty). AVOID.
Avoid. Previous reviews are true. Booked here because guess what, came up as the cheapest. Had to wait nearly an hour as they had a massive queue. Staff super rude. Car with lots of scratches and dirty, make sure you annotate them or they will apply one of their multiple fees upon return. If you pay with a credit card from outside the US, make sure you tell them you want to pay in USD so your bank/card provider applies their FX rates, otherwise they will apply theirs which is awful. Dont buy insurance again if you got it online. And spend a bit more and go somewhere else.
So when I arrived yesterday, I saw the reviews prior to entering the store and let me say this Mr.Edwin was fantastic! He was very thorough with each check point. Car was very clean and function very well. Waited at most 15 mins for the car. As well returning the car took no more than 10 mins to finish the process. Mr. Edwin showed me great customer service and I will be back again! Thank you for being personable.
I attempted to rent a car from here. My total was supposed to be $191.76. when I checked my credit card account statement the charge I saw was a $391.76 an additional $200. This was an exuberant amount more than (100%) than what I had agreed to in the contract I was initially provided. The agent did not even communicate to me the type of car he was giving me to give me an option to agree or disagree. It was not until I was received the keys for the car I decided no to take the car because that was not the car I wanted. The agent said he had voided the but fast-forward to today I still see that $391.76 (an amount I did not agree to) posted on my card. On top of that, as of 08/02/2021, an additional $50.00 posted on my credit card charges for a service I did not use. If i could give them a negative star review I would. Worst experience ever.
Edwin has a great attitude. He made our visit to Budget Car Rental in Manhattan very simple. He was extraordinary, going above and beyond by explaining the tolls and other details that we were unfamiliar with. Because of Edwin, we will trust Budget with our car rentals in the future. Thanks Edwin!
The customer service was wonderful. Edwin at the Times Square location was very attentive to our needs. During a time of rental shortages and high prices, he made sure we got what we needed with no upcharges. He made our experience comfortable and easy and we appreciated it!
Everyone at the 49th st location is so friendly and professional. Edwin is especially amazing and helpful. The cars Ive rented there have always been very clean and well maintained. I always feel respected and well taken care of at this budget location because of the people working there.
I was driving to upstate NY and asked for a SUV and got an AMAZING Jeep that saved us in winter. It navigated the roads smoothly and made me feel safe. The station agents were amazing and extremely efficient! The best rental location in NYC. I always go here to rent my cars!
Beware of incompetent staff on the phone, it might cost you.We decided to see if we could extend our trip by a few days, called to find out how much that would be. The person on the phone told us a price, which we confirmed several times and based on that made the decision to keep the car a few more days. A confirmation email couldnt be sent for some reason (because they dont do that). A month later we received the bill - it was NOT what was discussed over the phone. We emailed, left voicemails, called all the phone numbers that were listed on the bill and on their website. Its an endless loop, no one picks up the phone or your call gets forwarded to a phone number where no one picks up the phone. Its a joke! It is clearly not in their interest to talk to costumers. Nobody got back to us on this. We just paid the bill not because we owed the money but because we were forced to pay (as it would affect our credit score).That was the last time for us using Budget. Good luck with those practices...
Great Service at the 49th St. location. If you look at these reviews and sort by date, it is easy to see that if there were challenges at this location before, theyve been remedied. Convenient location, easy process (because of the set up of the garage they cant do FastBreak, but it is about as fast and simple as can be without it), friendly interaction. I arrived maybe 30 minutes early to pick up a car, and had to wait a few minutes to get the car brought up from the garage, but I was in and out in under 10 minutes.They do share the garage with a commercial parking garage, but the garage attendant can direct you if you need it.
Theirs a guy named Tedd on the Manhattan 49th st store location. He`s not only a very humble person, but rather he is probably one of the best employees Budget Car Rental has in the New York Area. I was about to change to Avis but after Ted`s extraordinary customer service I will stay with Budget.
If you like waiting an hour plus to then not have a car ready for your reservation, then this is the place for you!After waiting just over 1 and a half hours, they did not have a car available. They decided to rent me a different car, and charge me.After telling them I had been waiting the entire time for my reservation, the two people at the counter denied I had been waiting that long- feel free to look at the cameras.The one helping me then condescendingly told me how a car rental service works and they can’t upgrade me for free because they need to make money. To which I replied they already gave my car away, and that’s not how business works.
Worst experience. I booked the car in advance, so that I dont have to worry about it. My reservation was for 10 am, I showed up at 9:30 am just to make sure to be on time. By 11 am Im still in line waiting to pickup my car. 30 minutes after finally it is my turn to speak with the agent. After giving my credit car and id the agent tells me that he is sorry, but the car I reserved is not available anymore because I didnt pickup the car by 10. I tried to explain that I was there since 9:30 waiting to pickup my car, but he told me that the reservation is just a preference, and it doesnt guarantee anything.
Everything was fine--the car was good and promptly driven around to me. The biggest issues were that I wasnt ready to take the car immediately when I got there and they gave me the car anyway so I was like okay, I guess Ill find a parking spot in midtown? And, because I had to park on the street, a cop gave me tickets for expired registration and inspection. The rental company paid for those obviously, since it wasnt my fault, but it put a damper on the overall experience. That said, the price was lower than other options and beyond the tickets, everything was fine.
I waited for over an hour for the rental agent to help 5 people. He seemed more concerned with being a comedian than actually helping customers. The young woman that was bringing cars down brought down cars in the wrong order or the wrong car completely. She also went up the elevator 3 different times and forgot to bring a car seat for the gentlemen four people ahead of me. The guy checking the cars had heard me and other customers complaining about the staff specifically the man at the counter and said “and he’s a manager”. The vehicle’s bumper kept popping out of place and I had to pop it back in twice. When I returned the car after filling the car up completely, I had a charge for 15.99 for gas which I had to go in to the location to have removed. Only for the woman at the counter to tell me that it’s automatically added. That they don’t check the car for gas if you drive less than 75 miles. How many people walk away and can’t prove that they in fact dropped the car off refueled? When I voiced my complaints about the guy I rented from earlier she said he was a manager and said but you notice it’s called budget right? She also kept my paperwork, gas receipt and hotel key I inadvertently left in my paperwork but I was so frazzled at that point I was back to my hotel in an Uber before I realized it. This is the most irresponsibly run rental location I have ever been to.
I would give them zero stars if I could. Do not rent from here! There are many other options in NYC and this location will only offer you truly terrible customer service. I’ve rented from Budget before with no issues, but was appalled by the personnel and downright unsound business practices at this location. We made a reservation and prepaid online. When we showed up at the specified reservation time, we were greeted with a line out the door. After waiting for 2+ hours, we had not even made it inside the tiny, cramped office and were told they were all out of cars/sedans. It would take at least an hour more for them to process our reservation (which again, was prepaid at a reserved time!) and if that time did come, we would be forced to upgrade and pay more for an SUV that we did not want and did not request when we made the reservation and paid for it online. At this point, we called customer service and were placed on hold for another hour and told we would need a supervisor to issue a refund because we were cancelling within 24 hours of the reservation time. I explained I was being forced to cancel because the location had no cars available and there was absolutely no apologies or understanding. I doubt I will ever see a refund!
Ill preface this review by saying my last experience with Budget at LGA was a nightmare. However, my experience with Budget @ 49th St. was 100X better. The rental agent Edwin was extremely helpful and friendly. The car itself was clean and we had no issues with the performance of the car.
DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!If you’re still thinking about it expect to pay double. I rent from Budget half a dozen times a year, but this is my first and last time renting from this office. When I arrived they told me they didn’t have my car and that they would upgrade me. This changed my rental price from $231 to $383. I told her I wanted to pay the price for the reservation I made, but they didn’t have the car so it was $383 or nothing. I reluctantly paid the $383.When I returned at 4p, 5 hours before my agreed upon return time, I received a receipt for $568. The gentleman at the counter told me it was because my return time was 1p and they had charged me another day. The woman who made my reservation changed my return time from 9p to 1p. The gentleman at the counter said he could do nothing about it, there wasn’t a manager on duty, and that he wouldn’t call anyone or do anything to help me out. Yeah... he said that. You should have seen my wife’s face. Needless to say I didn’t leave until it was resolved.I called budget, pleaded my case and a kind woman knew of the treachery that took place at this office. She refunded me the money and my final balance was the already overcharged $383 I had agreed upon after leaving the rental office. On top of this, while I was on the phone, my wife witnessed every person arrive at the rental office be told their reservation was not available and that they would have to be up charged. Some left, some bit the bullet.If you’ve made it this far and are still thinking of renting from them, that’s up you. Make sure you read all the fine print, don’t go by their word. Did they charge insurance when you asked them not to? Is your return date and time when you asked for? Are there any additional fees they added on. Good luck out there and rent safely.
We were on time to our reservation and at the correct location but the office was empty. We waited for someone in an empty office for 25 minutes until someone came to get us and said the guy to rent cars never showed up and he had to drive us to another location. Weird...but okay. So he takes us to the other location and we ask him what to say and the employee says to us “don’t worry they know all about it”. Okay cool! So we go to the new location and tell them our names and this guy had no clue what we were talking about. Meaning the employee who took us here just flat out lied to us. Because of all of this we weren’t actually on the road until an hour after our reservation was supposed to be for, making us late to our destination. Now I’m also overcharged on my credit card and I’m just waiting to see if the overpayments go away before I call. Never again with this location / company.
We hired a car from this store and drive from New York to Washington DC. We checked in two hours early and Budget were able to provide us a car straight away without any waiting around. The car was relatively clean but could have had a quick vacuum. After reading some of the reviews on here for this store I wasnt expecting very good service but overall was pretty happy and would use them again. The lady at the counter could have been a bit happier but no big deal.
The other reviews are accurate, I waited for about an 1.5 hours because there was only one service representative at the location on a busy Saturday. Furthermore, because budgets technology is back in the stone-age, nothing is done electronically, and everything is printed out, so everything takes 10 times longer than it needs to (to be fair some other rental agencies still use paper and pen contracts instead of email/pdfs). The budget representative did an admirable job moving the line along, but he was clearly overwhelmed. Furthermore, it was clear to me that he was constantly upselling every single customer - attempting to rent them a more expensive car than what they reserved. This policy of upselling every customer added to the long wait times. I suspect the upselling is the managers policy - but it is dishonest in the way it was done. I was offered a different car for a higher price than what I reserved, when it was clear that I knew he was trying to upsell me, the representative quickly gave me the car I reserved. This indicates dishonesty because he had the car initially, but was pretending he didnt. I actually think the budget guy did quite a good job under the circumstances. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for, and going to this location of budget cant really be recommended unless you enjoy 1.5 hour waits to save 10-20% on the price. Not worth it for me. I would note that when I returned the car in a different city (Baltimore), I had no problems. It could be that Budget is ok as a business in smaller, less crowded areas, but in midtown, manhattan it is just overrun and cant handle the number of customers it gets there.
This rental agency and their agents are a RIP off . There business practice is shady at best. I will never rent from budget again . I was charged 200$ for a one day rental, and because I was 29 minutes late the next day . I was charged and hourly rate of 71.24. Then charged for fuel I replaced, then charged for not putting 75 miles on the odometer. When calling the agency I was told this was part of a rental agreement. So be it! They will certainly never have my return business . Lesson learned stay clear of these SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!
This budget location is small and in a parking lot so a lot of people came in frustrated because of the location itself. I would suggest that you get there early since the place is small, so by the time you get to the counter your rental will either be ready early or at least at the time you were supposed to pick it up. If you come on time or late the people before you will take all of the cars and you would have to wait for another batch to come in. Which did not take too long if youre early it would work better based on the location. Basically this is a prime example of early means right on time. Dont worry before you know it you will be rolling out of there because the customer service I have experienced is immaculate. Monique the sales representative behind the desk assisted about 3-4 customers at a time took names and information and asked each person to wait to the side. Next thing you know each person was being called back to her to sign contracts and head to their car. This made the process so much faster. She maintained a smile and was very professional to rude customers. She even provided discounts and car upgrades.There were people coming in late and upset that a car was not available which I found hilarious because it was no one elses fault but their own. The late people made it worst for the people who were on time which those vehicles had to given to them since they were first in line and the n time people had to wait. Spencer was another sales rep behind the counter who is great with small talk as he puts the information in the system and laughs and jokes with the customers. He also makes the experience better and faster., before I knew it I was rolling on out of there with my boyfriend ready for our vacation. I will definitely use that location again especially if Monique and Spencer are there.
The woman at the counter is extremely friendly. ive rented from here several times and after waiting in line, its always nice to chat with someone friendly. she was extremely informative about the issue i had with my payment (prepaid via applepay) and told me how to get a refund for double booking the same car.
I am from Denmark and despite all the bad reviews I saw here, I decided to take my chance with them. I was greeted with a smile and all i had to do was hand the employee my reservation papers and I was ready to go. Everything was correct - double checked everything, all I needed was to show Danish Driver License and Passport.If I have to pick one negative thing about this place, it is the same as another person describes - the wait time for them to bring the car in. It took them about 10-15 minutes, The convenience of this location compensated for the wait time.I didnt prepay my reservation and all still worked fine. - I booked another car from this location 2 days later and all was still in perfect order.
Never go there !We thought or would be a good Idea to rent a car there, but de had to face technical problems they dont seem to be able to solve. We did out trip, but when we had to give the car back, the team told us to pay the lack of fuel, which had to be full, but on the contract it was written to give it back half full, as full as we took it. They tried to rob us and when I wanted to film the scene with my cellphone, they tried to destroy it throwing it on the floor, and then tried to threaten us and pushed my mom on the floor. It seems like Google maps is the only place the truth is said about this storeConclusion : they almost destroyed my phone, hurt a member of my family, and almost spoiled our trip.If you a no choice to go there I would recomend you to fill up your phone with pictures of the car, the fuel indicator with the date, and the contract you sign ! Sadely, it seems this brand will try to rob you, si you should take all precautions needed ...Btw New York was nice, i recomend it, you should go to the Niagara falls, its very nice.
My wife and I needed a car to drive out for the day to an engagement party. Budget had a good selection of available cars and the price was reasonable for a weekend rental. The store location was easily accessible and it only took us 5-10minutes to complete all the paperwork, get the car, inspect it and get on our way. The car we ultimately got was what we wanted, had a full tank of gas, was in excellent condition and its interior was clean.The only thing to be wary of is the fuel return policy. We were told that if we did not return the car with a full tank we would be charged over $9 per gallon to fill the tank. At least the staff was very helpful letting us know where the nearest gas stations were.
VERY long wait, over an hour PLUS just to get to the counter (and we had an appointment). My brother had an appointment earlier in the day for a car, and he had to wait the same time (lines out the door). Very cramped quarters with inadequate a/c. Every customer was complaining (rightfully so). Counter people were doing their best, and were professional and accommodating as they could muster. Car was clean and washed though, security was non-plussed about examining car (I had to point out several damage spots they would have missed. Overall, good cars, poorly managed customer service wait times (was 4th of July weekend) - but staff was doing best they could under the circumstances
I work away from my home and travel a lot. I have rented multiple vehicles over few years. This was the WORST experience I ever had.1. Very rude staff who will refuse to talk.2. Rental vehicle not available in category booked, asked to make a new reservation for full size SUV.3. After calling costco customer service back and forth who were phenomenal got a compact car ( booked full size). Took almost 2 hours while my wife and infant child waited on street.4. Upon return no space in garage available, had to sit in car in street while a space becomes available. ? Is this my problem ?5. Question for owner, a) How many hour window does the customer have to pick up the car ? b) Can you just deny a reservation and say we dont have the car ? c) Arent you supposed to upgrade if you do not have the vehicle booked.6. I was told by your employee This is Manhattan - This is how it works here. I have lived for years in the area and this is definitely how it works.
What can I say, budget are scammers. We got lied to several times in several offices.Arriving at miami to pick up car, they didnt understand the contract as it wasnt unlimited mileage which we actually asked for but they said it would be cheaper anyway and asked us almost 500$ extra on top of what we paid online so we wouldnt have to pay drop off fees. After checking the contract we noticed fuel fees, we asked what it was and were reassured it wouldnt be charged if car was filled up.Arriving in NY, they didnt remove the fuel charges even if the car was full. On top of that they added almost 700$ in insurances and mileage which shouldve been included in the first time. They asked to call customer service as they would help us fix this. Staff was friendly but could not do anything. For the fuel charges they wanted a receipt. And for the mileage charges, asking to switch to unlimited which would have cost a lot less was rejected. Asking for the manager was refused. And asking for a confirmation mail that they wouldnt do any of these was obviously refused. Worst service ever.
I’ve always avoided Budget for some reason, but finally booked with the company for the first time and will probably never book with them again based on the experience at this particular location. When we arrived to get our car we were told it wasn’t available and they had nothing similar. The wait would be 15-45 minutes for them to bring a car by. Other than waiting the only other option was to rent a car that was available, which meant an upgrade of $60 +. They have the worst customer service with the worst attitude. Upon inspection of the car, the guy walks around doesn’t even bother to look and says sign here and yet there was a huge scratch on the front bumper. Also, when we got the car the gas was at 1/4 of a tank so we filled it back up to that and when we went to return the car they said they gave us a full tank. A round trip of approximately 160km does not use up 3/4 of a tank and we also had a gas reciept. If you end up renting here take pictures or videos of the car before you drive away for extra insurance.
This is the place I have been renting occasionally for 5 years . On my last rental , the new staff were so busy giving attitude the whole time and lie relentlessly on the availability of the vehicle despite the fact I have made an online reservation is unacceptable and should not be tolerated . The fact that my reservation was one way makes it unique the online reservation would not be available if the out of state car wasnt there the whole time . So they tried to get more money by upgrading on the car trying to squeeze more money unethically due to saying the class of car I rented is sold out !! I did the reservation again online on the spot and guess what the class was available again and I got the car with not much resistance as they knew I knew they were trying to play with me. It was super sketchy the whole time and those staff should be simply let go or budget should close this location!!! I will never tolerate so much incompetence and straight out lies anywhere and trust me I ll make a complaint about those 2 employees. If budget continues like that they will lose a whole lot of customers. This was definitely my last time at this location
Edwin is knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Will get you in and out in no time. Brand new, upgraded car. One suggestion: require service agents to wear masks and gloves—especially in close proximity to customers—for everyone’s safety! Thanks for a wonderful service!
I paid online and went to collect my car, the front desk lady made it very complicated and unwelcoming I think she was racist and refused to give me her name and hid her badge. She didnt accept my CC and called 911 told them I was harrasing her and other customers and I refused to leave and waited for the cops and nobody came. I was confident I didnt do anything wrong and thr customer service call center were on the line with me and witnessed the conversation and how she was. I hope she gets punished because this in unprofessional and never about the mony. It is the worst customer care experience I faced in my life.
Budget rentals as a whole are fine, but this particular Budget location carelessly charged us for a full tank of gas even though we had paid the fuel service option in advance upon pickup. Budget customer service helped us resolve the issue, but it could have been avoided altogether if the staff at this location had read our contract more closely, as it clearly stated we had already paid for gas.
I rented for two days, yet I returned the car in one and half days. They penalized me for returning early with a non-sense logic. They said the daily rate is higher because I returned early, yet they still needed to charge me for two days at the higher rate???!@!#@ I had to contest with the agents and call customer support number multiple times to resolve this and finally got refund for the extra charge.PS: I rented at this place and returned at DCA airport. My experience is not specific to this location, rather it is for Budget rental car company overall.
The car I reserved was damaged before me by the budget employee (he got into an accident with another customer while taking the car out the elevator). Besides the fact that I was left waiting for nearly 30 min on the sidewalk until the whole thing was sorted out (accident claim, pictures, etc.) - which I understand; not blaming anyone - I ended up driving a damaged car and had to argue with Washington DC Budget employees where I was dropping the car. They didnt trust me on how the damage happened and it was me against them. Total lack of customer service from Budget on this. My experience became a nightmare because these folks didnt do their due diligence for properly reporting the incident.
I booked a car and paid on Budget’s website. It took us an hour at the location to pick up the car. I am not sure what went wrong at the time. The office is small and can’t accommodate customers. People had to wait outside in an over humid 95 F summer weather for a long time. It’s not acceptable. The company owns some explanation and compensation to the customers wasting time and energy.
The worst customer service I have ever encountered. To bad I had to give one star in order to write a review if not they would have gotten 0 from me. I book a vehicle hours prior to pick up time when I arrive the agent behind the counter tells me that theres no vehicle available or anything similar to it. He tells me They need 24 hours in advance to have this vehicle at this location. I had never heard that before. We argue back-and-forth about having the vehicle available on line, to solve absolutely nothing. I had to pay for UBER #2 to get to my hotel. The staff was rude and uneducated. The agent had a nasty attitude. I forgot to grab his name when I decide to call back the person who answered the phone refused to give me their name and hung up. I call a 2nd time and was able to get a name. The worst experience ever. At 10pm no locations were open only the location at the airport which was a $35 ride on UBER. A huge headache and inconvenience. Never again!!Oh, I had a question to the person who answers all these reviews. Is there anything else you can do besides refer us to customer service that do absolutely nothing. Do you copy and paste this message over and over?
WOW! Im really glad I didnt see the negative reviews because my very first experience renting from Budget & at this W. 49th St. NYC location was very, very positive. Ive only rented 3 vehicles in my life (a truck in 1985, a car from Hertz Pittsburgh airport...a very expensive total rip off & not great customer service experience, and 2-18 with Budget). I first visited Budgets site & engaged in online chat with a rep & the next day I visited the W 49 St. rental office & the 2 reps were were super nice, helpful & friendly. I then called & spoke with Budget customer service for advice on my car rental needs/plans (I need to begin making regular once a month or every other month visits to see my elderly parents in another state). Im sorry others did not have a great experience with this Budget location, but mine was very good. I had a Ford Focus that was super clean & like new and the reps at the location were great. I hope my future experiences are as great as this time.
Need a car? Dont really care if you get one or not? Then this could be the location for you.Made a reservation three weeks prior to the date when I needed the car to drive to a friends wedding. Two hour drive, so I gave myself three just for a buffer. Arrived at the location to be told that not only did they have no car to honor my reservation, it would be at minimum of 45 minutes before they might have one and I was number 6 in line. They would call me when I could come back and get a car. Nice job guys.Went to Hertz. They had cars. Even for folks without reservations. Did I pay more? Of course. But at some moment it hit me: The value of actually having a rental vehicle when I needed it and being able to attend my friends wedding on time trumped the value of a less expensive imaginary car.Oh, a little over an hour and a half AFTER my reservation time I got a call saying I could come back to Budget and get a car. Not bloody likely.
These new policies theyve implemented are pretty BS. Not accepting debit cards? Ive never seen a business turn away money when I am offering to pay deposits and all fees upfront??? I dont understand this trash policy, and its a shame for Budget. Moving on to the next car rental spot to be a regular at.
We have just returned from the US after a month away. There so many highlights but collecting our pre-booked rental car from here was the worst experience. Firstly they spoke amongst themselves in their own language (very rude) and then flat out told me my credit card was declined. Odd since wed been all over the US and Manhattan using this card. Ironically a local couple offered to pay and we could fix them up at a later date. We didnt take them up on their offer being incredulous to what was happening. We ended having to go back to the hotel and ringing our bank at 4.00am NZ time to discover there was no blocks on the card, we hadnt exceeded our limit. So they suggested we go back and try again. It worked without a problem...go figure! On receipt of a very shoddy vehicle $140.00 per day we noticed it was only half full of gas. Very poor indeed.
Totally disappointed with this place. I prepaid a car on June 12th for today Friday 21st with pickup at 9am. My husband arrives there around 8:30am only to be told that his reservation was picked up the night before. How in the world does that happen? How does another individual pickup some else’s reservation. Don’t we need need to provide drivers license, credit card and reservation confirmation #.They simply told us that they couldn’t do anything until the car is returned. How is this our fault? So we just missed out on our son’s school trip. Thank you Budget. At no point did you guys try to accommodate us not even a slight attempt to help us.I didn’t want to leave any stars but I couldn’t proceed with my post if I didn’t atleast leave one.
I would give this NEGATIVE stars if I could. I saw a customer in front of me tonight getting the worst treatment Ive ever seen. The customer was returning a vehicle and one super sassy employee was running into the street and fooling around and not doing his job. The employee was wearing headphones the entire time and wasnt answering any questions and just generally RUDE.The second employee was berating the customer and yelling at him because he had left 2 napkins and a disposable cup in the car. He told the customer he would be charged $50 for picking up the napkins. The garbage can was full and there was nowhere to throw anything away.Ive never seen such rude customer service. I walked out and decided to rent elsewhere. 2 other customers did the same. We were all flabbergasted.
We rented a car from Edwin at Budget midtown and we were delighted with the service. We arrived and immediately Edwin started to process our car rental. He was very helpful indeed and was kind enough to give us a bigger car than we had arranged. All in all a fabulous service. The only subsequent problem was that we got a puncture in Vermont and had to get the tyre changed and the only spare on the car was a thin tyre so we could not get back to NYC with it and had to change the car via Avis.
The check in was painful, the check in staff was very slow holding up the traffic . It took me 1hr to return the car . There was an overcharge on my bill and the manager dint seem like she had any experience to understand or explain. Her only response was “ she was not trained to handle the questions “
My flight from New York to Washington was cancelled at the last minute and I decided to rent a car and drive, the team at Budget were very accommodating as I had to change my reservation numerous times. I will definitely use budget again due to the excellent customer service i experienced.
I had a day trip to make. The Ford Focus I was given made the almost 8 hours of round trip driving comfortable and smooth. In the past there have been problems with service, but this experience was excellent. Four stars because I believe in always encouraging improvement! Thanks, Budget.
Worst experience ever! Not only are the women behind the counter careless, they are rude and unprofessional. If they stopped talking, playing around, arguing, and making rude comments about customers in Spanish, they would get a lot more work done. I expected to be in-and-out quickily since I am a fastbreak customer, but it took about an hour to get into the van I had reserved a few months ago on the internet. People were treated so rudely and unfairly that when the van pulled up, I quickly inspected the outside and went on my way. Never once did it occur to me to check the paperwork against the mileage out and fuel reading. Of course when I attempted to return the car I was told that returning at half full would cost me $103 in additional charges, at which time I left and filled up the tank on my own. I cannot believe the NY location is scamming people in such way, accurate readings should be expected from employees! If you absolutely have to rent from this location, avoid Michelle and Maria.
After having a not so friendly conversation by phone when I asked If I can pick up my car earlier, when I got there everything else was fine: nice employees, quick car delivery, clean and nice car, not one problem. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes.The price was the best for renting the car in NYC and dropping it off in Boston. The car had EZ Pass, Sirius Radio.In general I was very happy with the experience at NYC.
Im gonna assume the good reviews were weekdays because from Thursday on- terrible service....I had to wait about an hr to get my car. I was calling to ask some questions about my return- no one picked up the phone in the morning. And throughout the whole evening- the phone was busy. Once I arrive to return which was two days prior my return- the lady tells me its the same cost for 4 - 7 days. Had they picked up the phone, I would have known this and I would have stayed with the car an extra day!! Horrendous service!! And the guy that was inspecting the car asks me where did I take car because I put a lot of mileage( Uumm, my rental is unlimited mileage- and thats shouldnt be any of your business to ask)!!
My entire experience was a nightmare and I would give zero stars if I could. I pre-paid online with a debit card and was assured at check out in the print that the same card could be used for incidentals. Arrive on day of pick-up and Im told that debit cards could not be used for incidentals and that it had to be a credit card. Not having one other than my business card on me I asked if there was anything that could be done and was laughed at. When I ask about canceling the rental so I could go elsewhere I was told that since I pre-paid online I could only cancel via their 800 number. Not wanting to waste any more time I gave my work card to cover the incidentals. A month later without being sent an invoice I received the bill through my company for the incidentals. All is over I thought.... I get an email today 4 MONTHS LATER from my accounting department for a $400 charge from Budget to my work card. I call Budget and Im told the location never applied the prepay and that they charged the card on file. I was then told that they could only refund the prepay that was made back in January instead of just refunding the company card charge from this month! All through this process every person that I have dealt with from the location to the 800 number has had an I dont care attitude about them and not one of them tried to work with me to make things right only to do it their way. I refuse to use Budget ever again and will make sure no one I know uses them in the future either.UPDATE: After being told the refund would take 5-7 business days I call to follow up on the 7th business day and Im being told the return was never processed and it will take WEEKS to process the refund meaning this whole nightmare will be almost 6 months in by time its over
I am not at all satisfied with Budget this time. I went to pick up the car at 304 W 49th St, (between 8th & 9th Ave) budget location and had to wait for more than 2 hrs to get my car and that too they told me that there is no SUV available (even though I booked it in advance) and asked me to upgrade to a 10 seater vehicle as thats the only one they had that time (it was morning 11.30am, not kidding!!)The staff were not very co-operative and friendly at all..I saw similar issues with multiple customers who were on the queue for more than 30 mins and had to wait for another 30-45 mins to get their vehicle. Anyways, finally, they gave me a Dodge Durango at 12.30 pm which was not even washed properly. I included a car seat in my reservation but it was also not available in that location so I have to wait another 20 mins to start from there. Thankfully, the location manager brought it from some place. Not a good experience with this location and budget overall..!!!
Do not rent here, they are scamming their customers - I was told to return the car 3/4 full, I queried the logic of this but they assured me I would be refunded the difference if I returned it more than 3/4 full. Lo and behold, no refund comes through and when I contact the agent I booked it through, they say they spoke to this office and they claim that everyone has to return the car completely full. Despite the fact they were telling everyone before and after me that it should be 3/4 full. Only the difference of 20 bucks - however they are clearly doing this to a lot of people and not much you can do about it once youve left the country. Avoid!
I felt inclined to write a review on the Budget Car Rental located on 304 W 49th street in Manhattan because it has gotten some bad reviews. I have used this location a number of times and I think they are great. Yes, the location is small and a bit gritty, and because of the size they do need to negotiate some serious logistics (getting cars down with an elevator for example). But they are fast, direct, and even when there is a line they will do their best to get everybody going. On this location its business first, getting it done, which I REALLY appreciate. Plus, Lincoln tunnel is just around the corner, so it is a breeze to get out of the city. This is my preferred location in town.
I would give you four stars if not a one of your representatives, who worked at the location 304 w 49th St, New York, NY 10019 at 7am, I think his name is Ezequiel. Awesome experience picking up, the lady in Times Square was so helpful/friendly, so were the guys in the lot. ONE thing to know, dropping off at LGA was a real PAIN. The Budget lot (nor any of the other rental car companies), is NOT located on airport property, and there are NO signs telling you that, or directing you to the remote lots. Then you have to take a budget Shuttle to another Port Authority bus, that takes you to the terminal. Allow 45 minutes for this process. The shuttle to another bus fiasco, is not Budgets fault, its due to airport construction.
Staff was 30 minutes late in the morning when I was going to drop off my rental car. They wont let you in the garage until someone from the office arrive. While I was waiting at the door I was fined with 157$ by NY police (I didnt realize). This fine was charged 5 months afterwards to my bank account.After dealing with the office and explaining my situation they put the money back in my account in less than 3 weeks, something that I really apreciate despite the inconvenience caused.Budget has turned out to be a company to trust and I wont hesitate to deal with them again when renting a vehicle.
The workers at this buget location is a joke. They are rude, tried to rip us off for a rental car even though we had pre-booked it online. He also kept contradicting his statements. If you don’t have the car which was pre-booked online, apologize and don’t charge double to upgrade and give a person attitude. This wasn’t all.We rented from Budget from all over the world and never experienced such an unprofessional treatment. Clearly they do not know their company’s policy and do not care about the service they provide. Hey, this is not a third world country...Dear CEO of Budget Rental, if you care about the business you represent, I would do something about all the poor reviews written regarding the employee’s of this Manhattan location. This is the best crew the West 49th Street Budget office has ever had! From the office to the garage everyone is courteous and efficient! And, in their location in the middle of Times Square/Broadway, they are efficient and courteous! It was kind of amazing to watch them coordinate those of us returning our cars and those who were picking up their cars as well as the pedestrians walking all over the sidewalk and street, not to mention the regular cars & trucks on the street!
That would be the worst experience I ever had in my life!!!!!They kept cheating me several times.At the first beginning they tole me I can rent a car for three days but just gonna charge me for two days. Then I took it.When I returned it, they still charged me for three days. Actually I just used 2 days and 4 hrs more. Then I argued with them. Kept me waiting for a long time, then they agreed to fix my price and promised to return me the money and let me wait for their so called confirmation email. And told me everything is in process, just be patient.After more than a month, I still received nothing from them and then I called the bank to get it back for me, however, I cannot believe that this BUDGET rejected it!!They lied to me again and again, losing my trust, I was so so angry!!!Hopefully you guys will not be the second me.
I would give them no star at all. The location sucks! The employees who works for ipark who parks the car are the rudest. They dont want to talk. Avoid at any cost. No professionalism at all. I forgot a bottle of water in side the car, and the employee with an attitude said, take your trash!!Don’t rent from them. There is Hertz, National, Enterprise and Avis near !!
What a terrible place go somewhere else.You can prepay your car but since they dont store many cars there, there are no cars and you have to wait for a different location. The wait min an hr. Once I got my car I prepaid for a toddler carseat, they didnt have the right one. So I had to wait for another one. By the time I left it was almost 2 hours later. The staff are pretty useless also. I gave 2 stars cause I got upgraded, $25 off and free carseat but I missed the day activity
I read the other reviews and went in spite of them. With no reservation, the team there went out of their way to reschedule other cars and get me the size of car I needed. From the moment I walked in til when i drove out it took 15 mins max... And thats with them washing the car first. Great job guys. Thank you :)
Manager was excellent when I had some issues with the car couldnt have been more helpful. Unfortunately let down by the rest of the staff who wouldnt know what professional was if it jumped up and hit them I the face. The security people that give you your car couldnt speak basic English. The man at the counter who serves you is alright untill you chuck him a curve ball then gets the hump and starts swearing under his breath. Needs to iron his clothes. The lady was on here phone and eating at the counter and wasnt very interested in anything. Just feel sorry for the manager great lady just let down by here team.
This place is a nightmare during any high traffic time, and thats probably when you want to pick up on drop off your car. Its housed inside of an incredibly busy garage, where employees must drive each car in individually because they have to constantly shift cars around, as there is very little space. It simply takes an absurd amount of time to get your car in or out, which is no fault of Budget but rather the design and popularity of the garage.
Not friendly at this location at all. I read the reviews about showing up a little early to avoid wait times only to be told I can’t pick up until my reservation time which was 30 mins away! I showed up at 9:00am my reservation was 9:30am. So they wanted to charge me more and I simply said I’ll sit/wait out the 30 mins. Really?! That’s customer service? I’m sitting here waiting and thought I’d leave my bad review now. I’m literally going to let them know you have 2 mins to complete my paperwork and get me in the car. This company deserves a ZERO out 5.
I had the worst experience in renting a car ever at this place, if the was a -1 rating I would have given it. This guy gave away the car to someone since we were late. Then we reboooked the car but he would not even give the car saying there is a 2 hour wait even though we were the only people there. Also I think the guy who works here probaby does not know how the internet works :-)
Couldnt drop off the car here (where we had pre-arranged to do so) because the lot was full. The staff was unhelpful and unorganized. The line of cars waiting to be returned extended onto 8th Avenue and didnt move for 10 minutes. We were told to keep the car (that is not a favor in Manhattan) and return it the next day or to drive an hour and return it to the airport. Neither option was viable for us, coming in to The City at 10:30 PM. I am going to get Budget to pay for my overnight parking and have them come and get the car.
The absolute worst.I am a member of Fastbreak and it doesnt exist at this location. Waited for an hour and a half to get a full size but they gave me a Ford Fusion hybrid. This is a mid-size car and being hyhrid turned the trunk into that of a convertible. Ford Taurus is the true fill size. The lady was extremely rude and would not take care of me. I had to put my stroller in between my wife and I in the car while we drove putting my familys life in danger. Worst experience ever.
A place worth to visit to get the car on rent. Also, they offer cars on reasonable price.Staff is very active and prompt. They have answers for all the queries asked by customers.They have huge space which accommodates many cars. They are good in maintaining cars very well.Overall, very nice experience in getting the car on rent.
Feel ripped off! I know you should always return a hire car with the same amount of fuel that it had when collected it but you try finding a gas station while trying to navigate a route through NYC streets! We never saw a gas station for the last 30 miles while returning back to the city so we ended up returning it half full. So it cost us $100 dollars @ nearly $10 a gallon!! A complete rip off! Also.. it took over an hour to book in and get the car. When it turned up it was covered in dents and scratches and big stains on the seats inside. Terrible. Avoid!
Ridiculous experience. Though I reserved a car days in advance, there were no cars available for me or anyone. Other customers were angry and yelling while the desk agent would only say that they didnt have any cars to offer anyone. The only solution offered was to wait until cars actually showed up which could be anywhere from an hour to longer. Stay away from this place even if the rate is cheapest.
I rented via the website, and I use Fastbreak, and I pay in advance, so the price is good, rental counter experience quick (Fastbreak lets you go to the head of the line!) and the cars are good. The staff in particular are helpful and friendly. Only complaint: website is sticky and poorly designed for a major corporation. It works ok but booking online will take the longest. It also bugs me that when I get fed up with the website and use the phone reservations, the prices for the same cars at the same location are more expensive. HOWEVER this is a pretty good car rental service. Good cars, good service... The only time I dont use Budget is when I need a car for 2 or 3 hours only. Then I use Zipcar,
BE AWARE. They´ll charge you for using the ezPass even if you don´t use it.Cars come with the ezpass enclosed in a box in the windshield. According to the instructions you need to open in order to make it work. They charge you $4 for each day you use it.The problem is that even if you keep it closed you´ll get a charge in your credit card after a few days.I paid all the tolls in cash and then I got the charge in my card.
Do not rent a car here because:1) There was not a car available after a reservation made in september 2014 (10 mnth prior)2) After a two hour wait we finally got the car.3) The car was dirty inside with all kinds of food on the floor4) The optie of prepaid fuel was not well processed so we had to pay USD 9 a gallon when returning the car.5) Our complains were not dealt in a customer friendly manner if dealt with at all.6) Budget is mismanaged and totally not organised
Horrible experience with local customer service. We wasted 2 hours due Budget team inability to fix a small thing: on-line reservation in a name, credit card in another. Local team asked us to call a Central Desk and Central Desk asked us to fix this with local team. After some debate with local customer service, then we convinced them that we were the customers and Budget should help us and not only give us option to pay additional 160 dollars. So at the end after long debate local team called somebody in Budget backoffice and they fixed in 2 min. We wasted 2 hours with local team who tried to charge us additional 160 dollars.
July-2015.Budget needs to make sure this place stop scamming people.I was there an hour prior to 3:00pm, just to make sure we where at the right place.They did not have my car midsize but gave me a fullsize, no extra charge the lady said.I told that I would be back. She told me I have to take it right now.I explained that we had all our luggage in the hotel in manhattan but she really did not care.Car was set at 1 700 miles and now when I got the bill and milage they claim it been going for 18 989.I drove to Rochester NY and back, aprox 700 miles back and forth! They claim that I been driving over 16 00 miles in 48 hr. I Calculating that it would take me 199 hours straight to drive those miles with out toiletbreak!!!So instead of them contacting me about this and explain there incompentce, there is an bill of additional 153 dollar which I have no clue what its for...I will never ever rent from any Budget Car Rental again.
Slow, inattentive customer service. Forgot my sunglasses in the car and despite calling shortly after having dropped off the car, the sunglasses were nowhere to be found. Despite bad customer service it would have been nice if people were at least honest, but guess this is too much to ask.

Sunday morning, 20 people in line and only one person working behind the counter. Very bad planning! And maybe its time to ditch the dot matrix printers for something faster? This review is not a reflection of the girl working the counter. She worked as fast as possible with a smile.
I booked for a X5 BMW to get it from your station at 304 West 49th Street, Midtown W 49th at 7:30am, New York and instead of that there was no BMW or similar SUV at that station (actually they told me that they hadnt seen any for many months) and I had to take a cab in order to go to 142 E 31st St, New York, NY 10016. Then after an hour of wait I was given a Land Rover Discovery (which definetely is a class below the X5!) which I had to wait to get it semi cleaned outside (it was fool of bird poop) but not cleaned on the inside. Afterwards they asked me to check the semi cleaned, still fully wet car with lots of bird poop on the bonnet, for outside damage (is it really possible to check for scratches in a car that has not been dried really?) and after having to tell them 3 times that I had booked and prepaid for child seats, the brought me the filthiest kid seats in whole Manhattan!(may I say that I didnt use them in the end) Ah, lets not forget that that new Land Rover Discovery with approx. 350 miles on its odometer was dirty as hell on the inside ( how is this possible?) Let me state that I had already prepaid that booking 45days ago almost 200$ for a 12hr booking. Just stay away from Budget and as far as possible!!!
Perfect example for Americas perishing customer service. Never have experienced such a betrayal situation which is probably resulting from the commission based system their employees work on. Really disappointed from such a behavior. I am not going to rent from Budget again and will recommend friends and contacts to refrain from booking with that company or at least have a close eye on what they are trying to sell. It doesnt even deserve to have one star........
Not very friendly. Don’t think going early will save you time. Your car want be ready. You even have to deal with the parking policemen wile you arrange for the right car. Been treated for rude after some discutions for the size of the car. Not recommending this location.
After researching estimates on their website for for 20 minutes or so, I found a price I could live with. I called my husband to be sure it was within our budget. When I hung up and went right back to book, the estimate had gone up almost $100. Tried calling their office several times-no answer, no voicemail. So I called the 800 service line. By that time, the best he could quote me was over $200 more than the original quote I was given no more than 20 minutes prior. They offered no options, no discounts, no condolences... No thank you!
Had my reservation, but the staff and her manager, told me I cant rent a car only with a Chinese driver license, which is not true in NY and many other states. They also told me I have to have an IDP to drive legally, which is again, not true in NY and many other states. Very rude staff.
Im going to assume that some other reviewers were so worn out by the madness of Midtown traffic that they took it out on Budget. After grinding my way over the GWB, misdirected multiple times by my TomTom and dragging my way to Budget I was ready for a rubber room. I was cordially greeted by the car attendant, directed to check out, and was out if there in roughly 2 minutes. No problems at all.
The young woman who was managing the scene on the morning of Saturday, May 3, 2014 was a god-send. People crammed into a non-AC waiting room and she managed to keep everyones impatience in check with good humor and respect. I saw her single-handedly disarm a customer who was clearly high on indignation and she did it with grace and generosity, too. My only regret is that I didnt catch her name, but I hope this review reaches her and she gets a promotion. She made a travel delay okay.
Made an error with nationality when booking online, and the website told me the rates will change. When I went to the store, the staff told me that she wont tell me the updated price. After I told her I wont rent the car without knowing the price change, the she told me you cant cancel the reservation because we are sending your car over. I immediately went online and cancelled my reservation.
It took me 90 minutes to rent the car....My reservation to pick the car was in one location and was sent to pickup the car in different location. This delay caused me to leave the city at rush hour. I was given an upgrade at a time I needed to have the car I reserved!!
The 49th street office rocks. I was at the end of a LONG line. The nice man behind the counter said, Dont worry. Well get you all taken care of. And, he did. Like watching a ballet. When I reached my car on the street, I was treated to already running A/C, a clean car, and a friendly lady to help me load and get directions. Loved it!
This 5 stars is specifically for ParamjeetAfter a day spent on the phone with Budget corporate and supervisors that could do jack all, in an extremely frustrating situation, I was finally helped by Paramjeet. If you ever rent a car through Budget let alone the one at 49th st, (which due to all of the helpless customer service team members/supervisors/shift managers, Im not sure I ever will put myself in the Avis or Budget companys hands again) ask for her to assist you. She actually has an empethetic bone in her body. She finally put me in touch with the appropriate person to right my wrong. Its maddening to have to jump through a million hoops and stress over a solution, which at the end of the day was concluded in a 2 minute conversation.
Only coming here because its the closest one to where we are staying. This place has really poor customer service, the people are inattentive and always walks to the back office to avoid questions and complaints. Our fourth time here, there were no cars. After 2 hours of waiting and 15 people in line, they still claim that the car should be here any moment now. All we can do is cancel and get a full reimbursement.
Horrible service. I go here because its cheaper, but it is not a good experience with customer service. My recommendation is only rent here if you plan on using the same place for pickup and drop-off, book EVERYTHING online, and NEVER EVER TRY TO MAKE CHANGES. If you try to talk to a human and make any kind of change you will be charged fees you cant even imagine.If it seems like Im exaggerating try out for yourself.
If renting from here, I would just tell you to check the gas gauge. Please provide a car with gas in it. Getting a car with the needle hovering over empty in the middle of Manhattan, where gas stations are hard to come by was off putting. I will not be renting here ever again.
The attitude of the rep at the location I told her the car had problems the brake indicator came on and the tire pressure came on I had to pay a tire shop to put air in the tires I was very concerned about my and my passengers safety in the vehicle and she didnt show any concern or empathy first she said it couldnt be then I told her that the indicator for both braking systems alerted me and she said that it didnt matter cause the car was going to the airport.

Even with a 10:30am reservation, I arrived on time and was waiting 4+ hours for the car.Update: within 2 hours of the 5 hour drive, the rear driver tire popped off and flew across the highway while driving and the car swerved and budget could not be less helpful.The absolute worst car rental.Will not return.

2022-07-06If you rent from this location, plan on at least 2-3 hours to retrieve your rental. I reserved a vehicle, checked in prior to arrival so that my rental process can be expedited. Upon arrival there were at least 20 people in line and the office is located in a parking garage that has no ventilation and no air conditioning so for those that couldn’t fit in the small office, you had to wait in the parking garage and on a hot summer day is like death in a sauna. Budget had one, yes one employee working and no management on-site. Each customer took an average of 10 minutes to process so it was an hour for every six in line. I was like 20 deep. I will never rent from this location again and budget will always be last on my list in the future.

2022-05-25I booked a reservation for a 7 seater SUV to pick up at 900am on may 19th, drop off at 800pm may 24th. On may 19th i changed my pick up time form 9am to 12pm. Then i get a receipt and charge for an extra day and a late fee be cause YOU changed my drop off time to 12pm on may 24th. I didnt make that change. Then I spend 45 minutes and 2 phone calls trying to get you to adjust the error you made and get my money back. Absolutely ridiculous. Then when I picked up the car that i reserved a 7 seat SUV you tell me you dont have any, which I said find me one because thats what i rented and need. the guy at counter starts questioning why I need a 7 seat SUV when there is only 2 of us there, honestly its none of your business why, thats the car I reserved and payed for in advance. All of the sudden you had one, yet my receipt says i reserved a 5 seat SUV. Then you give me a car with 2 bald front tires, the entire car shook when driven over 50 mph. the front windows were so dirty inside i couldnt see at night or when raining. Everything about this rental was a nightmare, except drop-off which took all of 1 second. Completely unacceptable to put people in an unsafe car. Completely unacceptable to charge someone for your errors.

2022-07-06Its a convenient location for city rental, however experience is not great. Even after filling the gas tank, I was charged additional and he was very picky about sticking to original booking pickup and drop off time unlike general rental outlets. Could it be due to small outlet???

2022-05-30My Confirmation Number was 09431998US2 and I Picked up the car on Sat May 14, 2022 at 10:30 AM from Manhattan-Westside (Midtown),NY5 304 W 49th St, (between 8th & 9th Ave) NEW YORK, NY 10019 US. I had said I would Drop the car off on Wed May 25, 2022 at 07:00 AM at Newark Liberty Intl Airport,EWR 134 Lindbergh Rd, NEWARK, NJ 07114 US.However, I had to return the car back on the 23rd May because of an emergency and returned it at about 2 pm at the same pick up location in NY. I requested for a refund for 2 days as it was an emergency but I was told that it was not possible because I had pre-paid. I had pre-paid only because I was told to pre pay during collection.I have been using BUDGET over the course of all my travel to the US. I am very disappointed by the lack of understanding.I would appreciate if someone could act upon it and process the refund by crediting back the amount on the same card that was used.Thanks and regards, Vinit Chandra , Singapore

2022-06-22I saw another review that said it took TWO HOURS to get their keys and I was like nahh no way. Well hand me my shoes and nose cause I be clowning.No joke, got there at 1030 for my 11am rental and didnt leave with the car until 1232. If you want to waste your time, patience, and money, come to this shi-Budget. I wish I wouldve taken the train to Newark to rent my car.P.S. - the lady who rented a car two spots in front of me had to exchange it because it wouldnt start. The guy in front of me had a ressy for 9 am, showed up at 1015, got to the counter at 1145 ish and they had already given away his car. Dont do it folks, go literally anywhere else.

2022-04-09We had a reservation today to pick up a rental car at 3pm, as we arrived to pick up the vehicle the staff was walking out the door and said “you can go pick up a car on East 87th Street”, offered zero help not let me pick up the car that we PREPAID for. Customer service these days is really lacking, but these people are absolutely disgusting, worthless workers and should be reprimanded for their actions.*additional context: they close at 3pm, the reservation was for 3pm, we arrived at 2:58pm and we weren’t allowed to pick it up. Everything was signed and done we just needed the keys.

2022-07-06The team at the 340 West 49th branch were super professional, friendly, and timely. They brought the car out to the street and it had been freshly cleaned inside and out. The car was in great condition and returning it was easy. Shout out to Edwin at the counter for his friendliness. Will definitely rent from this location again!

2022-07-06Very poor experience, slow process of getting a car during pickup. I wish their pickup process should have been as easy as drop off wasted 160mins of my life :(

2022-07-06Horrible service! There is a snail sitting on the other side of the desk. It took me 4 hours(No kidding) to get the keys of my rental car and same was the case with everyone in the queue. Avoid this branch if you can.
