I had a very bad experience renting a car using this company. The people working at the front desk were very unprofessional, had incredibly loud ring tones/music etc happening on their phone, etc which was really upsetting considering I had to wait three hours to get my car due to not having (new policy) credit card to realease the car. I was asked to use the mens bathroom, which was FILTHY and had NO TOILET paper. This experience was truly depressing. The car in and of itself was fine.
It is ridiculous that you cannot call the location you rented from and have to talk to only the reservation line. I was treated extremely bad by a reservation rep of yours after several dropped calls because of bad cell phone service. Plus I was given inaccurate information by that same rep which resulted in more charges for my rental. He was rude, sarcastic, nasty and even bordered on abusive. The girls at the particular site of pickup and drop off were very helpful , but your reservation line was the absolute worst!
Very bad experience with this company especially at this location. The employee that we dealt with when we picked up and dropped off our car we rented was extremely unprofessional (Taking personal phone calls, using profanity, and telling us what she is supposed to do and what we should do instead). We booked online and didnt owe anything as we had purchased free day vouchers and we were charged the full amount when they needed a CC for the deposit. We spent the first hour and a half of our trip listening to hold music in the car...good thing the one we rented had bluetooth...customer service said they would credit our account back after our trip still waiting to see if this happens as the desk agent again tried to fix the issue when we returned the car. This location was also very dirty and run down. The car was very nice and clean that we rented but unfortunately it only takes one bad employee and a potential $300+ mistake to make us never be repeat customers.
The price was fair, but the first car they gave me had a strong smoke smell and it had cigarette burns on the seats. After complaining, I was able to come back the next day for an exchange. I had to drive an hour each way. It is impossible to contact the local budget office and almost as bad calling the national phone line which often directs you to call the local office where the staff does not answer the phones.
The car I was given was not the car at all like the care on the rental agreement. I had to put air in tire every day of rental and ended up having to pay for a tire repair. I could NEVER get through to the location I rented from and got disconnected and hung up on whenever I reached the main number. Budget has lost my business forever! And beware. This location is upstairs and lugging your luggage up a flight of stairs is NOT fun! There’s more but just don’t rent from them!!!!
SCAM ARTISTS. I will NEVER use this company again. Customer service is horrible...the people working at the counter are lazy rude and ghetto. Nobody in this company knows what they are doing. I got charged all kinds of ridiculous fees for no reason and after fighting with them for a week I finally got SOME of my charges back. Not to mention as soon as I pulled off with the beat up car they gave me the check oil light came on. They are a joke. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!
Car was filthy inside and out.... interior smelled, the alignment was so bad it pulled the car off the road.... but after I had to return the first car because the steering wheel shook terribly over 35mph, I was almost an hour behind schedule to leave for our family vacation that I decided to just deal and hope everything was ok
Learn how to treat customers!!! Explain what you are charging for when you are charging it. When a customer gets irritated with the policies, learn how to explain why the policy is in place and what it means. A little customer service can go a long way! I will never rent through this budget again. And I will ALWAYS prepay online.
The customer service agent at this location was extremely helpful. I rented a vehicle for 1 week, but I had to call back after that week was over to extend for an additional week. Then, I called back after that week to extend for a third week. The price was great and the service was outstanding. Budget is the only company I use for all of my personal and business rental car needs!Thank You Budget!!!!
I would put zero stars if it allowed me. I booked and pre-paid for a car a week in advance, arrived at the location and was told that I am not allowed to pick up the car because I have a debit card not a credit card. I do not own a credit card nor will I ever get a credit card again. Everything I pay for is in cash/debit. I had to call customer service and have them move the reservation to another location. Upon arriving at that location they took the debit card but the was subject to a credit approval. Because I pay cash my score is not the best. Therefore I was once again denied the rental car that I had already paid for. After speaking to six different representatives on the phone they finally refunded my money without paying cancellation fees. Needless to say I will never ever, ever return to Budget or Avis rental cars. After three hours of fighting with this nonsense (because a credit score somehow determines if you’re responsible driver not) I took my business to Enterprise and was able to get in a car with a slightly higher deposit because I was using a debit card within 15 minutes. Perfect example of a company putting his assets over its customers. If you are someone who tries to be responsible with their money, steer clear of this company at all costs.
Went online to rent a car for the same day - got confirmation and an offer to pay for it online with a credit card - save $10.00. I did that and went down to pick up the car and was told that because I had paid online with a credit card - the earliest I could pick up a car would be next day.... something about the charges needed 24 hours to be approved.. if I wanted to get the car Today (as I had originally requested) I would have to pay another $124.00... and if I canceled the online order (it was now about 20 minutes after the order was made) Id have to pay $50.00 and then try to get a car set up in person... Total Scam. I cant afford to wait 24 hours to get a car I need today. I cannot afford to pay an extra $100 to get the car I need today just because I was foolish enough to pay before I went to pick up the car.. and I cant really afford to lose $50. because I was foolish enough to try to rent a car in the first place.... buyer beware - and for Gods sake - dont pay with a credit card online.
Staff bent over backwards to be personable and helpful. They gladly offered us a smaller car, per our request, after the online reservation had booked us in a large SUV. While she couldnt refund us the difference on a pre-paid, one-way rental that we were dropping at an airport across the border, she gave us detailed instructions on how to get the refund from the customer service phone center.Additionally, the directed us to the best priced gas stations to refuel before the drop off. I also greatly appreciate that Avis rents cars with a full tank. Another company has frequently rented me cars with an 1/8th tank or less,which is very inconvenient. So pleasantly surprised by the full tank at Avis--THANKS!Finally, the drop off at Pearson in Toronto couldnt have been easier. Took less than 5 minutes, with most of that being our unloading luggage. Only improvement I would suggest is having luggage carts for us to make the brief trek into departures checkin a bit easier. Thankfully its a short walk, but with several weeks luggage to schlep, it was a cold walk outside moving slowly under a half dozen bags.
My wife and I have rented from here a few times and each time we try to give them the freaking benefit of doubt. Were NEVER going back here ever again. These people are a JOKE. Every single time there has been a problem. Multiple times we have had to drive back home because they neglected to tell us information and each time its something different. And then drive back to the place to get the stupid car but theyre more than happy to take our payment!!!! Do NOT go to this place unless you wanna be on the verge of a heart attack dealing with these people. Not only that but the man that works in there is rude and will follow you out to the parking lot and fight with you.
Terrible service! If I didnt witness 4 different people become unhappy with their experience while I waited for 1 hour for a rental car I reserved that wasnt there i wouldnt have believed it for myself. Yes I reserved a car and they did not have one for me when I arrived. So I had to take a more expensive car just so we could get out of town on time to drive 9 hrs away. Also why do they not have 2 guys working? Didnt seem like any rental went smoothly or in a timely fashion. Then you have the people just waiting to return vehicle that have to wait for everyone else. Yes he did ask who was returning and killed 2 birds with one stone when walking someone out....but still! My advice...go somewhere a little bigger who has more options and more employees working!
This is the worst location in America, I have rented cars from budget over 20 times but will never go back because of the poor service at Henrietta location . Brian Gibson is a smart ass that should not be in customer service. Prepaid over a month out a my car was not here . He could not of been happier when he told me I couldn’t cancel . I just left and called corporate to get refund and drove strait to enterprise to get a car . What a joke Brian is .
The last few times I have rented from Budget they have automatically charged me a fuel charge although I filled the gas to Full. I had to wait until it was called in to get removed. Now Im looking at my receipt and have been over charged all together. Budget went from my number one place to being on my do not rent from them list!

2022-07-08Recently I rented a vehicle for a day and a half from Budget (on Jefferson Rd) after renting from Enterprise (on W. Henrietta Rd) for four weeks. I found the staff at both places friendly enough, but the environment and professionalism at Enterprise was better. My car (and all the cars I saw in the parking lot at Budget) seemed a little worse for the wear. The car we rented from Budget was certainly not as meticulously cleaned as the one from Enterprise.The location of Budget on Jefferson Road is on the second floor, in a low-budge looking room. The staff, again, while friendly enough, were dressed in t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops. Both when we rented the car and returned it, there were only two employees - and thankfully one of them knew what they were doing.Although renting a car is ridiculously expensive, I spent less at Budget, and therefore would recommend it, for leisure use. I would NOT recommend it if you are trying to impress someone, win over a client, or want to maintain a professional appearance or experience. But, if you just need some wheels to get around town, it is sufficient.I would recommend paying close attention to the fees, especially their early cancellation policy.

The gentlemen who helped us was amazing! He was polite, personable, and helpful; there was no pressure, no hassles, just an easy transaction. Well rent from this location again

2022-06-26Cristal went above and beyond to help me throughout my rental time. When the first car I rented had problems she immediately provided another vehicle for me. She apologized for the problem even though it wasnt her fault. She couldnt have been more helpful or kind. She is a true asset for Budget! I will absolutely rent from this franchise again!

2022-02-14I rented a Tacoma pickup because I was told that was the only vehicle left available. Got in the car had a bad smell figured possibly from sitting in cold garage well after about to hours the smell was unbearable. Noticed what appeared to be pet hair all over the back seats and door jams. Got a wipe and cleaned front area. Still could not take the odor returned the car same day. Got a replacement and guess what. THESE CARS ARE NOT BEING CLEANED BTWN CUSTOMERS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. WILL NEVER RENT AGAIN FROM BUDGET. Covid is clearly not a concern with this company.

2021-10-18Quick turnaround. I was worried about the size of the car and if it would fit everything I was taking. They were nice enough to allow me to fill the car with my stuff first to make sure the car would work. Just great people that are willing to work with you.

2021-10-30I tried to rent a standard SUV but was given a minivan with absolutely bald tires. The van had 42,000 miles and it seemed that the tires were never rotated, causing bald tires. I would like to send you picture of the tires to prove it. I would appreciate some money back because I was given an unsafe vehicle. It was raining hard for much of a night time trip, so I felt in peril and had to drive much more slowly. When starting from a stop in the rain, the tires skidded at least 10 times during the 4 day rental.

2021-11-11Rental car had a front tire totally bald and returned it to avis in barstable airport for a replacement..Rental agent said the sand in front floor may require a fee of $200 to remove. I said i will take it it the car wash vacumn site and she told me i could not renter the car to drive as i had been logged out..Sure enough I was charged $200 to vac the sand...Past 4 years show i have rented for 8 to 16 weeks each year...never again..
