Gave me an electric car without mentioning it.No instructions, no manual so I couldnt look up instructions. It took me a half hour to put the car in gear. Not only was this extremely frustrating, but also dangerous. Never again.Forgot to mention, NO USB PORTS IN AN ELECTRIC CAR. REALLY??
Worst experience ever. Rented 2 caravans and used a discount code thats on the website. Arrived to get the cars, was told we would have to pay $1600 per car(we paid $280 per car), because the code we used had some error and was being recognized as a insurance code(didnt say that on the website). Literally was leaving for drive to GA in 1hr with no cars. Talked to manager he was useless, the agent knew more than he did, also rude, asked him about the code and was told i dont know about the website, i dont rent cars.
Will never use budget again. Rented a car through Priceline and budget supplied the car. Need to extend the rental another week. Had to extend through budget. Was told budget would deduct first week rental that was paid to Priceline. Budget did not deduct the first week paid to Priceline. Budjet billed the whole 2 weeks and have washed their hands of it.
Very good service at the counter, the attendant stayed late when our flight was delayed past closing so that we could still get our car (make sure to put your flight number when you make your reservation so they can see if the flight is delayed coming in). However, they intentionally read the fuel reading a little lower than full when you return the car so they can charge for their fuel service, and they check the car back in electronically so by the time you get the receipt youre already in the terminal and cant dispute the charge. They also charge 20% tax when New York state tax is 6%.Quality service, but go in expecting to pay more than what they quote you.
I returned the car before the designated time, but there was no attendant at the desk. When I received my invoice I was charged an extra day AND there were significant upcharges. When I called, I had to provide the information that I completed on the paperwork. Thankfully, I took pictures of the mileage and the car when I returned it so I could give exact information. This is disappointing, and I dont have time to be following up on what should have been a straight forward transaction.
The interior of the car wasnt clean when I received it. It looked like a can of soda exploded in the back seat. It smelled like marijuana when we got in. Had I not waited in line for 30 mins with 2 kids after traveling all day, I wouldve asked for a different car. Also there was something wrong with the car that made an awful sound, like it had a wheel bearing issue. In addition, (this is not specific to this location) I had cancelled a reservation 3 weeks prior to this, and my credit card still hadnt received a refund. When I attempted to call Budget about this issue I kept getting transferred to customer service and each time (3TIMES TOTAL after 50 minutes on the phone!!!) I ultimately got a message that my call cant be completed and get disconnected. This is an atrocious and shameful way to do business. I ended up calling my credit card company to deny your charges which ultimately costs YOUR company more in charge back fees- thats the price you pay when you cant do business honestly. I will only recommend people to avoid this business at all costs. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
I picked up the car at Rochester, NY Airport and returned it at Dulles Airport, DC. They gave me the perfect car with an EZPass for my trip. I never had any issues during my 700+ miles trip, covering 3 more states. Happy with the service, especially the ease of the return process!
I was impressed by the features and performance of the Outlander you provided. Far superior to the Corolla I rented from Thrifty earlier in the week in Louisiana. For instance, I plugged my Samsung cellphone into the Outlander USB port and it displayed Google maps on the dashboard screen and played my audio book over the car sound system automatically. The Corolla wanted me to download software first. Too much hassle for a short rental, so I didnt bother.
Ive used Budget numerous times over the past several years, I generally always prepay, and have enjoyed the service. This last time though I pre-paid for two weeks, and unfortunately, shortly into my trip a family member passed and I had to travel back home. I had to return the car 5 days into my two week stay, and received zero credit or any type of accommodation when I explained my shortened trip to both customer service and at the return site. It was extremely disappointing given the nature of my shortened reservation. Even my airline changed my flight without additional cost. Moving forward I will be using a different rental service. Because the BUDGET does not make any refund of earlier one day of the rental car since I dropped my car one day earlier and I had a conversation with the customer service before dropping my car at the airport. The rep told me that they will make a refund (prorated ) of the rental car when my rental car is arrived physically and checked with the Budget representative
Will recommend 100% the rental at Budget. I needed to pick up my rental at Budget in Jefferson Rd at Rochester, NY and the lady in the place named Cristal gave us the best customer service ever. She helped us 100% until we get the car. Thanks to her we got a better offer.
I rented a standard SUV Mitsubishi Outlander to drive a few belongings of a late family member from Rochester, NY where they used to live to Atlanta, GA where I live. I picked up the vehicle on 11/09/21 at ROC airport and returned it to ATL airport 24 hours later. My experience at ATL returns was excellent and easy, but the starting point was below standard, that is why I am averaging it to a rating of “5”. At ROC the staff was nice but helpless. They first gave me a vehicle that started alarming for “low tire pressures” as soon as I got out of their garage. I retuned it immediately and they “prepared” a second identical vehicle for me, which took 1.5 hours to get ready for the trip. The 2 vehicles were 2020 manufacturing year but none had GPS on board although I specifically requested a vehicle WITH GPS for a long cross-country trip. I tried pairing my phone via Bluetooth for navigation. The Bluetooth connection did not work in the first vehicle, thankfully it did work in the second one. But I fumbled for about another hour trying to get me some form of navigation (Buetooth pairing) which delayed my start on the trip even more (2.5 to 3 hours total delay). When I asked for help with the car’s electronics (GPS and Buetooth capability) the rep answered that they are not trained for that, all they know is to check the mechanics of the vehicles, make the paprewotk and hand out the keys… After the difficult LATE start the vehicle worked ok and I had no other issues. The return at ATL airport was excellent and easy.
Please be aware that I rarely recommend ANYTHING to ANYBODY. However, I felt that I got the best deal possible with Budget. Also, I was treated with courtesy and respect all the way. Not being a seasoned traveler, I worried about the complexity of the process. However, Budget somehow allayed that fear. My only complaint would be finding my way through the return-rental-cars parking lot.
Pros: The SUV itself was very nice. 2021 Ford explorer. Cons: Took forever to pick up vehicle, one person working the counter. Never received a rental agreement, vehicle wreaked of Marijuana & was charged $10/gallon for gas!! I was not made aware of the cost for the gas upon pick up or return & because I never received a rental agreement I couldnt even verify.
This was my first time ever renting a car on my own. one click online reservation, and then i spent under 5 minutes at the pick up counter, and the gentlemen out in lot on the pick up and return were amazing. everything was so seamless and just flowed how a customer expects it to. its so easy it feels like you got away with something.
An error in the pick up date of my reservation resulted in significant overcharge. I prepaid my rental only to realize upon pick up that because of a travel date error (Budget says it was my error, but I dispute that entirely) I ended up paying for 1 full week that I did not actually use the vehicle. I have determined that the prepayment option is bogus and not to the customers advantage since overcharges from date error can occur without any possible recourse. Budget happily has taken my money; too bad, so sad to me the customer. Customer Service offered coupon for 3 days free but 1) its not equivalent to the actual customer loss and 2) buyer beware before trusting Budget enough to rent from them again...
This car rental is located off site from the airport. I found prices to be more affordable here, but what prompted me to give it five stars is Krystal..excellent customer service and accommodation. She had three customers waiting and one in the parking lot but made it a point to greet each snd everyone of us! Efficient, great smile, personable and treated me like I was her most important customer!
We loved our rental with the exception of it wasnt fully cleaned before we picked up. There were melted gummies where we needed to put our luggage. Truck stunk like cigarettes and pot. We were told that any smoking in the vehicle resulted in a $250.00 fine for cleaning.....so the prior person must not have cared and Im not sure what they did with the cleaning money because it definitely didnt have any extra cleaning done. We tried to bring it to the attendents attention but we were rudly dismissed.The truck was nice overall it was a good experience. They were able to extend our use for an extra day after a quick few minute phone call.
Multiple issues with the rental vehicle, smoke filled the back of the vehicle at one point because of the brakes, the air conditioning stopped working in the whole rear of the vehicle and the passenger window got stuck down and would not go back up. Upon returning the vehicle I was told nothing could be refunded because I had paid ahead online, very disappointing.
When I got in the vehicle I noticed the tires in the front were almost completely bald and I know for a fact thats very dangerous. I had to drive it anyway because we were in a bind and behind on time and when I start driving it I noticed that the alignment is off as well. The vehicle seem to be very unsafe. There was flash flooding in the area I was in that was only 30 min from the airport I picked it up from. I just received an email that I am being charged for excessive dirt and mud. The vehicle has rubber floor matts that could be washed off there was no mud on the cloth. I feel like Im being taken advantage of from a company that provided an unsafe vehicle. I did not go off roading or anything crazy. I rent from you 4 times a year and my company rents from you atleast once a month but with these new pirate tactics were going to have to take our business elswhere.
Mind blowing how poorly they treat people here. I have had multiple issues with the same women working here. Was told I didnt have a reservation, step away for less than five min to pull up confirmation information and she left leaving me stranded at the airport. Thank goodness for Uber. Rent with anyone but budget or Avis.
Given a nissan quest with bald tires in the middle of a rochester snowstorm. Huge safety issues.The point of renting is that you dont have to worry about maintenance. Wiper fluid frozen.When I called about the issues I was given a credit to the next rental?! Vehicle smelled like smoke. The first one we got was even worse. I thought lysol and air fresheners would get rid of the smell but it didnt. I called to speak with someone about it and on 2 separate calls spent nearly 2 hours waiting for a manager. I finally was given a case number (40317199) and was told a manager would call me back. Still no call yet and its been over 24 hours. Definitely a terrible experience with both the vehicle and customer service. Needless to say I wont be returning as a customer and will also make sure anyone I know wont use Budget either.
Reserved a Suburban or something similar & they tried to give me an Explorer. When I challenged about that being smaller¬ similar the Agent said that was all they had. I inquired about a Tahoe they wanted to charge me $20 extra a day. I took the Explorer went to the car & before I even got in realized it was not going to work. I had an 11 hour trip with 5 people & luggage (people would fit not luggage). I wen back in, spoke to a different Agent, he said it should have been an Expedition gave me a Navigator, not what I expected. Got on the road the next morning & about 5 hrs into trip check engine light comes on. Call the Roadside Assist # & they want me to drive another 90 miles with the light on to turn the vehicle in. I told the Agent I was not driving a rental vehicle 90 miles with a check engine light on. Checked oil, no oil had to add. Went to Harrisburg Airport to their Budget, they could not accommodate me & said the 800 # should send a car to me. Talked to another Agent at the 800 # & was told to drive 90 miles or that I could go get it serviced & ask to be reimbursed. Went to AutoZone who ran an engine diagnostics exam & told me it was a sensor & I would do no harm to the vehicle. The sensor they told me about, I had just had replaced on my own vehicle & my mechanic had told me the same thing about my vehicle after I had the same code from AutoZone on my vehicle. I cont my trip w/o anymore incidents & the light eventually went off. Before returning the vehicle, I cleaned the vehicle of all wrappers, personal items, bottles, etc. The floors was dirty, but nothing a vacuum could not handle. We were in & out of the vehicle for over a week. I return the vehicle 3-4 hrs before it was due, no one was in the garage to accept the vehicle so I went into the airport to return the key. The Agent was very rude & Im being charged $125-250 for damage due to heavily soiled floors. Nothing was stuck in or spilled on the carpets, a vacuum is all it needed.
It was a simple and straight forward experience. The person who checked us in had a great personality and was fun to talk with. (Sorry I forgot the name of the older Caucasian man).The car was small for the area I traveled to in Rochester, NY, but was efficient for what was needed. Great experience overall.
Process was easy and convenient. Pick up took little time at the counter and car was conveniently located. Drop off, parked in the return section and a young man came right over, checked car back in right there without having to deal with the rental counter. Great experience.
They give us the truck dirty inside and outside. We called and they said just to have some coupons for next rental but please if you rent from here be aware car might be dirty and not proper clean for Covid. We notice it was dirty outside but inside looked cleaned. Then we find papers of previous rentals with names and personal info we left in car because didnt belong to us but i was very surprised we had to alcohol de inside of the car and make it safe for my kids to be in the car with this covid. Very disappointing 😞
I have Fast break or thought I did but Budget counter was NOT open and Avis was jamed - I had to wait an hour for service with ONLY ONE person serving customers and she was overwhelmed! So very sad and most frustrating for those who have to STND for an hour - we seniors cant take the grief!!!
My car smelled terrribly of cigarette smoke both inside and in the trunk. I tried multiple times and could not talk to anyone about it. I was told to go online and fill out a ticket which I did and the only consolation was for a future rental. The car smelled so bad that my clothes smelled when I got out as well as the purchases that I made that were in the trunk. I will not be renting with Budget again.
I asked Phil some questions as he was emptying the key drop off box. He took the time to answer. Lori came in and easily quickly got me through the process. I had been up since 3am PST, dealing with change flights, cancelled flights, arriving at 3:30am only having to wait until Budget opened. Phil and Lori were the only positive thing that had happened as they cared what happened, unlike the airline.
Southwest cancelled all their flights in Rochester, NY for 4 consecutive days. One of the ground agents at Budget went out of her way to arrange for us to drive our rental to Buffalo the following day to make our rescheduled flight. This small act of kindness makes me feel Budget has my back during stressful times.
The first car assigned had dents, was scratched, was, and smelled of smoke. The second car given in replacement was clean. But was down a qt of oil. I found that out after I had driven 200 miles. I put in a quart and was denied reimbursement until spending 1 hour in phone calls and in-person negotiation. I was shuffled between the local office, and customer service for 20 minutes. They said I should have called the Budget service line to get permission to add the oil. Or taken the car to a Budget location be replaced. Difficult to do while on a business trip with time constraints. I was given a $20.00 coupon for a future rental.I must say the in person reps were professional and courteous. The phone reps also. Their hands were tied by corporate policy And the local car readying oversite.
I booked a truck. I took off in the truck and it was running terribly. I had to go back to the airport terminal. It wasted an hour of my time only to find out it they didnt have a replacement. So they stuck me with a minivan instead, which didnt work out well at all. Then to add insult to injury, my bad, I didnt fill the tank. It was about 3/4 full. They charge me $75 to top it off. I would absolutely never use budget again. Ive rented from Hertz forever and should have listened to my instincts.
The reps working here never answer the phone they forward all calls to the 1-800 line. They seem not interested in work at the counter but the return reps are always nice they should switch jobs lolthe lady at the counter was not interested in addressing my issues regarding a rental and the manager was not much help either I ended up having to call customer service after the charges finally posted to my account. Terrible service.
I was driving the car from Rochester, NY to Norfolk, VA. I ran into heavy traffic and didnt move for 2.5 days. I had to drop off the car by 10 but that was in no way happening. I called and they told left me drop to dry they said I can either extend which would take my rental price from $175 to $355 or accept the late fees which she said she didnt know and couldnt give an estimate. So fearing that I would be over $355 I accepted the extension. Its outrageous that due to extraneous reasons that I had to buy almost double. And to top it all there was no one there when I dropped off the car, around midnight, there was no one there, so did I even need an extension? Your company left me out to dry and charged me almost double because of things I couldnt control, you completely took advantage of extraneous circumstances I was in to double my rental price. I will go out of my way to advise people not to rent from you.
I received a white Chevy Equinox for my trip and was delighted with the pricing. However, when I got to the vehicle, it was filthy on the outside. The inside smelled of smoke the entire rental. I had to drive out nearly an hour to arrange a funeral and was unable to go back and complain. Never had a rental in that kind of shape before.
Run to the truck The 1st one smell like smoke in weed Can I get a second one it smelled like smoking weed in the next morning it was dead. They sent a truck to jump it but it was not the battery the driver said it was a starter. The 3rd vehicle was fine but not a truck. When I got my bill after I checked out it I was charged over $200 for the repair of the truck that was towed. How was I responsible for a dead starter?,? Horrible Experience
I rented a truck and was charged a $29.94 extra with no Idea why. I waited on line for the billing department twice for over 20min and no one answers the phone. I never got a final email statement so I have no idea what this charge is for and when I call the location I rented from they just said to keep waiting on hold for the billing department. I dont know about you but Im a business owner and dont have time to sit on hold for an hour to argue over 30$ I was never told I would be charged. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.
Terrible service and car. When I got there the car I rented was not available. The guy at the desk said he would change the reservation, and give me a different car(fine). As a business owner I understand things happen. But once I returned the car I was charged over $900 for mileage!!!. Why would they switch me to car without unlimited mileage. I am trying to dispute this. Terrible experience, I will never rent from them ever again for business
I had a great experience renting from Budget for a recent business trip. The pick-up process was quick and easy, and the person who helped me get checked in was efficient and friendly. The car was very clean, and was a step up from what I had originally reserved. The drop-off process took about 30 seconds, which was great as we were rushing to check in for our flight home. Overall, very good experience. Will definitely rent from Budget again in the future.
Easy to reserve the car, easy to pick up and drop off the car. The car was clean and ready to go when I arrived.Not to bash Budget...my only complaint is with the cost of the car insurance. Since my personal car insurance doesnt cover rental cars, I feel I need to buy the rental companys. It just seems really high - around $28 per day for a compact car. Ive tried a few other insurance options over the past year and understand this is not just Budget but the industry as a whole.
I will call you or you can call me. But in short, my wife miissed our return flight due to bad information from one of your agents regarding the drop off location- Niagara Falls airport vs Buffalo- for our return home. In spite of me telling the counter rep at Rochester that we were flying back out of Niagara Falls and also calling again to reconfirm this information 2 days ago. We showed up at IAG airport this morning and found out that there was no Budget counter and no means of returning the car at IAG - too late to go back to Buffalo without one of us missing the flight. Now we have to eat the extra expenses of a one way ticket to Tampa
I travel a lot for business. When it comes to rental car agencies, you never know what the experience will be like if you have never been to the airport before. In this case, the Budget/Avis agents were quick, friendly and the car was great. Good value. I liked that the rental counter was in the terminal. BTW, the ROC airport is new and awesome!
The truck was absolutely great!! The comfort and ride of the truck...second to none! However, externally and internally, the truck was dirty! I wasnt really concerned about the exterior (though it should be clean), the interior, from the rear of the truck to the trunk, had dog hair all over! I spent money to get it cleaned, out of my own pocket,but the hair would barely move. There needs to be a MUCH better cleaning done to the vehicles...people are spending their money to have a quality ride, and it SHOULD be clean (interior)!! This is why a 9 was given, above.
I picked up vehicle which had a bad odor,a mildew smell .I return the car clean smelling good but I left my watch ..I feel the cleaning crew doesn’t clean the vehicles which is horrible due to COVID...if so thy would have seen my watch in the cup holder,wouldn’t have smelled terrible ..I ask for budget to reach out to the person who rented the vehicle after me,thy did ,my watch was found but thy allow the customer to bring back apple /phone watch 5 days later,I ask could thy give her my number so I can meet to pick my watch up before 5 days...I was then told by bill Grayson tht thy have already inconvenience the customer for my watch as if I wasn’t a customer who by the way just paid $300 for a week.Bill Grayson was very rude ,unprofessional,terrible Communication ..I Will nvr rent from budget/Avis again thanks to bill ..I don’t want to deal with a company who has a manager tht thinks it ok to treat customer like he did ...Budget Will nvr get my money again...
I would put zero stars if it allowed me. I booked and pre-paid for a car a week in advance, arrived at the location and was told that I am not allowed to pick up the car because I have a debit card not a credit card. I do not own a credit card nor will I ever get a credit card again. Everything I pay for is in cash/debit. I had to call customer service and have them move the reservation to another location. Upon arriving at that location they took the debit card but the was subject to a credit approval. Because I pay cash my score is not the best. Therefore I was once again denied the rental car that I had already paid for. After speaking to six different representatives on the phone they finally refunded my money without paying cancellation fees. Needless to say I will never ever, ever return to Budget or Avis rental cars. After three hours of fighting with this nonsense (because a credit score somehow determines if you’re responsible driver not) I took my business to Enterprise and was able to get in a car with a slightly higher deposit because I was using a debit card within 15 minutes. Perfect example of a company putting his assets over its customers. If you are someone who tries to be responsible with their money, steer clear of this company at all costs.
One rental agent. Wait was long. Person ahead had time consuming issue. Line stopped.Howard, the rental agent, was very professional and pleasant.When I returned the car in Midtown Manhattan the agent was rushing, overcharged me for gas, which I had prepaid when I rented. Told me I hadnt prepaid. I called corporate at his direction, who told me I had in fact prepaid my gas. He straight up Lied. Then charged me $137 for gas. The location was closing for the day, he didnt greet me when I arrived. I know New Yorkers can be blunt and very direct. Which I appreciate. But he was rude. Unemployment at almost 20%, hertz facing bankruptcy, companies, people are struggling,..dealing with rude people in customer service based positions should not be acceptable.
One of the best rental car experiences ever. First of all they gave me a free upgrade at pick-up. The car was wonderful and fully loaded; the price was terrific too. Dropping off the car was a breeze, and the service prompt and courteous. I will certainly use Budget again.
Picking up of vehicle, no issues. Once I had vehicle became very apparent that it was infested with ants, hundreds of ants. So much to the point they were crawling all over me and anything I had in the vehicle. This was my first time to LA, so I thought maybe this is normal. Because of this I didnt drive the vehicle as much as I had wanted too. Upon return, I went inside due to using a different payment method. Staff handling return was rude, acted as if I was to blame for not reporting to the return agent outside about the ants. She proceeds to act as if she could care less about representing a reputable company and to top it off, she was to good to hand me anything in my hand. Everything was just thrown to the counter despite me having my hand out to recieve it. Unfortunately this is not my first rodeo with Budget and unkempt vehicles but suffice to say it will be my last. The fact that no apolgy or attempt to offer some form of discount lets me know my business isnt truly appreciated. Therefore my business will be spent elsewhere from now on. Too much competition to continue supporting a company with no sense of customer service or appreciation.
Best rental experience. I was home to bury my Dad and needed a good car to transport family. I originally booked a compact but upgraded at the counter. My rental had some issues so I returned it the next day. They apologized and upgraded my rental. They were friendly, efficient and sympathetic. I will definitely rent from them again!
Very friendly and helpful! Provided a vehicle that I preferred which was a Corolla. Vehicle was clean and comfortable. Great on gas. Traveled in upstate NY and then to Maine and finally dropped off at Logan International. Such an easy and pleasant experience returning the vehicle! I will rent with Budget again!
All went very smoothly and the price to rent the car for 2 weeks (plus insurance) was very reasonable. The car was clean and in excellent condition. Based on other reviews Ill have to check if I will be charged for anything extra, but I left the car and no one asked for more money. So far so good and I was pleased with the experience
The auto we rented was very satisfactory. I found the rental process easy. I pre-ordered the vehicle. The rental booth and cars were quite close to baggage claim and I value not having to walk far to get the car. I had a small car but they upgraded us to a SUV since they didnt have the small cars. Since our needs had changed since I had pre-ordered it, this was a convenience.
The staff was very efficient in processing everything so we could get going as quickly as possible. No hidden fees was a pleasant surprise. The car itself was very clean. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Will definitely use Budget again when we need a rental car.
I always start with Budget when looking for a rental. They have the best pricing for the quality of the vehicle! I have driven to Florida from Rochester NY and back 3 years in a row. On all of these occasions they had the best rate and the best 7 passenger vehicle. The absolute easiest to pick up and return. The best!!
My wife was not able to pick up our rental on time, even with my license, and the credit card she paid for it with online.The inside of the windshield was not clean. It was spotty & streaky. We had to clean it ourselves. It made vision in a blizzard difficult. The windshield wipers were barely adequate in the snow, making driving difficult.
When I picked up the vehicle tank was not full and when I returned vehicle I made sure it had a full tank and only used it for 57 miles just looked at my e-receipt and saw I was charged and additional 23.00 for fuel. not the first time I have been over charged by budget but this will be the last time. I will not recommend budget to anyone and will make sure to deter anyone from ever renting from budget have to be one of the biggest scammers out there. to bad because I used budget a lot. Receipt showed picked up fuel 8/8 and returned 8/8 and still charged for fuel. check your receipts dont assume its all correct not the first time I have been over charged by budget
We just got off a connection from Detroit. We already had a reservation we had made a month in advance for our trip. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. He tried over charging for our reservation because it was the last car in their fleet at that location that was ADA. Well, from my experience. ADA rentals are a special request and you are lucky if they can even pull one from a different location the same day. Hence why we made our reservation a month early! So, we got out of line. And we tried all of the other car rental companies there. And again, no one could pull an ADA rental out of their hat that day. So, we called the 800 number and talked to someone about our reservation and she called the gentleman who hadnt been helping us at all. And informed him that he couldnt jack up the price for our reservation simply because he wanted to. So, in the end a huge thanks to the lady on the phone. But, for now that is the only reason this is even a three star review. Because, the original gentleman was just so unprofessional, possibly even undertrained and a tad understaffed.What did I learn at the end of the day? Always Budget for rental car companies who are loyal to the customer and dont mess up reservations, while planning a trip.
Fabulous rental experience. We arrived around Midnight and they were there to greet us with a smile and very nice, new, clean car. The Rav 4 was perfect for our trip and the unlimited miles was awesome. Returning the car was a pleasant experience as well. This budget office was perfect from start to finish!
I have never had such an unpleasant experience with any member of the service industry than I did with the lady Sheila at the front desk.Incredibly rude woman who is as UNHELPFUL as possible. They have a faulty credit card reader that rejected my girlfriends credit card (the card works perfectly fine). She then refused to try running it again. Forcing her to call me at my house to come to the airport and provide another credit card. This is something Sheila refused to accept over the phone. Once i finally arrive she proceeds to now be very rude to me and stating over and over how I will be the only one allowed to drive the car. I got it lady, I am not an idiot. Then goes Okay we have to bill you as a walk up since your name is not on the reservation. At this point I almost lost it. The man Michael who was working with her proceeded to tell her all she had to do was edit the name on the reservation. Fast forward to her taking my credit card and she then tells me MY credit card was rejected. I unkindly told her to run it again (which she did this time) and it went through just fine.She is known for being extremely rude and the garage attendant knew exactly who we were talking about when we told him we had a very unpleasant time inside. We needed his help because Sheila chose to give us a crummy car with no key fab and we couldnt find the car in the garage.Choose another rental company!
They were super helpful helping me find what I needed/wanted! Unfortunately I was told I was getting a mustang gt and ended up with a v6. I wouldve never spent the money on that. I didnt notice until I got to the car and I was on such a time crunch so I just drove off with it instead of going back in. I wouldve rather had a plain Jane car and saved myself the money if I wouldve known the correct version of car
Always a great experience when renting from Budget. The agent at the airport always remembers me when I show up, hard to get that kind of customer service these days. I rent 1 week every month and always get a new, clean car, sometimes I have a few choices between cars when they are available. I never spend more than 5 minuets at check in and the longest checkout was only 4 minuets, extremely fast and easy. My favorite is the saving and coupons I get in the mail, had a nice free upgrade to a 2016 Mustang! Looking forward to earning more points for my vacation time rental car!
I had rented a car for 5 days because mine was,I thought, irreparably damaged. I needed a car for work and to find a new one. I left Budget with a nice little car at the lowest price I had found compared with all the other renters. Well, I had been trying to call the garage where I had left my broken car all day with no luck. So I stopped there on my way home and found out that all it had needed was a new bolt and some adjustment.Didnt need my rental at all! I called Budget right away and they let me return it with only a minor $20 charge.The man at the return garage didnt make me wait for inspection.There was no hassle at the return counter. When I called with a question about my new receipt, the agent handled it so politely and efficiently. I was so thankful for the experience after a particularly horrible week. You all were appreciated,and I will always use Budget!
I have rented from Budget at Rochester Intl Airport several times now and have never had a problem. Their prices are one of the lowest of the rental companies. Each time I have rented I have been treated very courteously and gotten through the rental process with very little wait time. The car I had requested has always been available and in good, clean condition. Returning the car is a breeze - drop off in just a matter of minutes. Will definitely rent from them again.
I rented an SUV for less than a midsize car. The counter service was fast and courteous without any of the usual pressure to buy their coverage or their gas.I turned the car in and got a receipt back for the exact amount that I had originally made the online reservation for in the first place. The whole experience was as fast and smooth as renting a car can be.
My family and I rent cars frequently and I will not go through budget again. I rented a car out of Gainsville airport and was told that the car I rented wasn’t ready (even though it was supposed to be three hours prior). They then charged me an extra $80 without my knowledge to rent a car for their mistake. I will not go through them again. Customer service representative was not willing to negotiate even though this was their fault!! They lost us as a customer.
When I finally found the counter it was a smooth process. I signed up for fastpickup so my license and such were already on file. Got upgraded to a Volvo XC60 and it was a great car. Only thing I didnt like was that the hood wasnt latched completely and I had to do an emergency pull over on the 390 before it ripped up and smashed the windshield. Talk with person who set it must not have been checked after maintenance from last rental. Price was great and will use budget in future.
Rochester Intl Airport female employee stated she has been doing this 30years. I don’t know her name but she was truly a pleasure and a great asset to your company. She was very polite, greeted and thanked me with a smile. She was standing at the Avis counter but was able to pull up my Budget rental. I was so thankful to have her help when i returned the vehicle also. Thank you!
I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Rented a midsize SUV for less than other agencies wanted for an intermediate car. The on-line reservation was easy and the Pay Now featured saved me even more money. The car pick up was fast and easy, and I was under way in no time. I would certainly recommend Budget to anyone looking to rent a car.
My flight was delayed almost 3 hours late on a Thursday night, and the rental counter stayed open until past 2am to make sure that everyone was able to get their cars. The attendant was quick and very friendly despite having to stay so much later than expected! I really appreciated the service!
I showed up on time system was down had to walk back to the building in the cold and Im pregnant. Got to the counter no one was there so I had to wait while trying to get warm. once someone came no apology nothing just business as normal . she was trying to over tall me while I was explaining there is a very strong gas smell when u drive over 50. she said ok whatever Ill let them know. wow.... the reason it gets a 4 is because the staff member from Saturday morning was very pleasent
While the lady at the desk when I picked up the car was a little short of polite, I would not say she was rude. Maybe just a hectic day, but doubtful more hectic than my travel day in pouring snow. The car was OK. Wish I could have gotten something a little more suited for the snow storm. I would have still considered giving 5 stars if they had not rented me a car in Rochester, in the pouring snow without an ice scraper in the car. That is just not OK. Had to pay the bill cap at my hotel to go get enough ice from my car to make it so I could drive.

Flew into the Rochester airport and picked up my rental at budget on May 14, 2019. I believe on Friday May 17, 2019 they called and emailed me letting me know the luxury rental I purchased needs to be brought back because there is a recall for something on the car. I brought they luxory rental which is a Chrysler 300 back today May 19. When I went to the counter there was an older lady grey short hair to her shoulders with glasses at the desk who was absolutely rude. Bad attitude, she looked like a miserable old lady and had the nerve to tell me well it looks like we dont have a luxory car availabe. Well I had a problem becuase she wanted to put me in an SUV or a Nissan maxima. Now are those luxory vehicles? Then she asked this heavy set man with glasses next to her about the cars. He had 1,001 questions. Did she get her rental from here? Did she purchase a luxory vehicle? blah blah blah.I did state to these rude people that Im returning it because you told me there was a RECALL. So why in the hell would you think Im leaving without a luxory vehicle. Your vehicles should be inspected and good to go when you release them to a customer. This took time out of my day and trip here, and you have the nerve to try to downgrade me. I will never use this rental company when I come back home to Rochester. ABSOLUTELY RUDE PEOPLE AT THE DESK. Miserable and disgusting. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I will leave this review on my social media and anywhere else I can. I am shocked at the customer service I recieved today.I DID LEAVE WITH ANOTHER CHRYLER 300!...🤔 But I thought you didnt have anymore.
I have had the worst car rental experience with this agency. Although I have dropped-off my car way before my reservation ended, they have charged my credit card extra for not returning it on time. I have tried to explain the situation to their customer service (I have done exactly what their representative told me to do. He was busy at that time with another car rental companys customers instead of his own company)Their customer service gave me a really hard time. I will never rent a car from Budget Rochester airport.
The Budget Rental Experience is over-all very good at the Rochester International Airport. Their cars are typically clean, ready on time and staff is efficient and friendly. I appreciate the clean rental area and lighted parking garage which makes both pick-up and return a breeze anytime of the day or night. The quality of the vehicles has been excellent. One point Ive learned to ask is if given a southern car in the winter months, make sure it has real wiper fluid (not water and not frozen). This would be true for any rental. Thank-You Budget Rental!
Renting a car from Budget out of the Rochester airport was very easy. I was checked in and in my car very quickly (though I admit I came at an off time). The car was clean, but did have a scent from a previous air freshener. Overall, it was an easy experience, the vehicle worked fine and I would use them again.
BEWARE OF USING DEBIT CARDS; I Needed an SUV for 6 hours to get my family to Cleveland. I PREPAID online using my debit card, was told I dont meet the debit card qualifications nor could they tell me what score is acceptable and would be 48 hours before a refund will be credited by Jonathan, called customer service they told me 5-7 days.Left Jonathan 3 messages no call back.Taking someones money and not providing a product or service nor disclosing why they meet the criteria is THEFT IMO. Went next door to ALAMO paid $100 more and was worth it!
Quoted me $30 for 1 day, checked my credit card statement and they charged me $126. Tax rate at 20% that they wouldn’t give me an explanation for on top of all these random fees they gave me bs reasons for. The needles was literally less than .5 centimeters below full and they charged me $51. Worst experience.
Had a terrible time trying to rent a vehicle from them at the airport.No major creditcardl card no car even though booking it online my card was used it was all fine until I tried to get the car. They said I couldnt get thehands car because my form of payment. I was denied 0k... The car then was cancelled and it took 3 to 5 business day to get MY money back.
We booked our reservation through Costco in April of 2018. For about three and a half weeks, we would have to pay about $800 (excluding insurance and the other stuff they tack on once you actually get the car). Everything went smoothly until June 7th, 2018... Since they close at 12 A.M., we called to make sure that someone would be at the desk once we arrive at 11:58 P.M. They put it in their notes and that was that. About 10 minutes later, we recieved a confirmation email and suddenly, our price increased to $1,100! Once someone finally answered, they told us that $300 is because we changed our reservation... Putting down that we need someone to stay a little later isnt a change! After we got our original price back, they told us that the $300 will be refunded after 1 month. Okay, whatever... As long as we get it back. Today (June 9th, 2018), we recieved an email confirmation from Budget, stating that our price is now $2,200! A few minutes later, Costco sent us a confirmation that it is $3,000!! WHAT IS GOING ON, BUDGET!?!(Update - June 17th, 2018)After calling them about our new price, we were told that we didnt even have a reservation... What!? Eventually, we were told that our reservation was canceled by the computer because our original price was too low... They told us we could get another rental for $1,700. We took that, but decided to let Costco know about the situation... They were very glad we contacted them because Budget breached their contract! They were able to get us our car and the original price back! They gave us an upgrade for all the trouble. Thank you, Costco!!
On Tuesday I went to pick up a rental car. We were told that we couldn’t use a debit card, even though on the website it says we can. Staff member was arrogant, talked to my mother and I like we were inferior. Gave me an attitude because I don’t have a credit card, and proceeded to explain things multiple times. We were there for an hour before I politely asked “can we please get this going” when I was then told to literally “shut up” when I explained I just wanted to rent the car I made the reservation for so we could get home I was then a second time told I needed to “shut it and keep it zipped” where I was then threatened to not be given the rental car I had reserved if I kept talking. This was the first interaction I had with the man, as my mother did most of the talking. I am not recommending budget to anyone, in fact I work with people and have told my story to many who have said the will also never be renting from budget.
I reserved a standard car before I landed in buffalo airport and when I went to the budget counter the employee gave an intermediate car. I tried to explain to him but he insisted. So I tired and want to go home which made take the car. Next day, I called the customer service and they understood my struggle and told me to go to nearest place to exchange the car, so I went to Rochester airport and surprise, the employee said “you have a standard car, and are you smoking” ** this is not your business!!!I end up not changing the car.+ still the customer service offered me to fix the price and return 35 dollars.The thing is that There are lacking on Budget employees knowledge about there cars and the tow employees that I meet are too rude. (Buffalo and Rochester airport employees).
If you are planning on using a debit card be advised. I was denied a rental and when I asked customer service why I was denied they said it was for an unknown arbitrary reason. I have a 760 credit score and over 20,000 in the account that the debit card is linked to. I owe no one, own my home out right and still cant rent using my debit card. This has never happened with any other rental company and Ive rented many vehicles with this same card in the past. I wouldnt want anyone else in the position I am in right now. This is extremely frustrating to say the least. Based on my experience your better off paying a little more and going through another rental company if you want to use a debit card.
If I could give negative stars I would. I had an online reservation and it said twice on it accepts credit cards or debit cards but that is terribly incorrect. No where does it say absolutely does not accept debit card what so ever, which is the real case. The only place it says that is on a piece of paper taped to their counter. So I arrive with my reservation and cannot rent a car. The manager wasnt helpful, even when I showed him the online reservation saying they accepted debit cards, he just replied I cant rent to you. Budget left me completely stranded, I would never even consider them again.
I made an online reservation for an economy car at the airport in Rochester NY. When I arrived Budget was sold out of every car available. I dont understand the ourpose of having online reservations if the cars wont be available and cause you to make a blank trip. Thank goodness this is my hometown and i wasnt a visitor from out of town stranded at the airport.
The associate at the location attempted to fight me as I was attempting to return the keys. He claimed I was disrespecting him for attempting to return my vehicle. Then not only threatened violence, but threatened to also put me on the do not rent list because I wanted to return my vehicle.
I flew in Rochester, New York after they had already charged my account for the rental I get there and they proceed to tell me my credit score is to low they had to cancel they could have emailed me a head of time about this. Now I ask about the refund they tellme 7-10 business day I am on a budget on vacation now I had to rent from anthor company. I will never ever rent from these ppl and advise them to anyone!!! The rental car was Extremely dirty I almost cancelled my reservation but my husband talked me out highly dissatisfied other customers belongings were left in the car and there was bird feces on the outside the car overall the car was Very dirty would not recommend to Anyone..

So I called the corporate number and they Said I would not be charged the extra day ... WELL Guess What I was Charged the Extra Day And Will have to Wait 3 to 5 Business Days To Get MY MONEY Back ... The Rochester Airport (ROC) Budget facility vehicle pool is shared between Budget and AVIS. Both teams work together and provide excellent service. I have never been disappointed with Budget and when a problem occurred like a smoke smell, they eagerly provided an perfect alternative.I travel to ROC every other week and the Budget team ensures I dont have any unpleasant surprises.
Budget is by far the best bang for your buck in the car rental industry. They have deals from postal workers and many other union employees. The service is also very swift for fastbreak members, who automatically have their information entered into Budgets system. All you have to do is sign, grab the keys, and go.
The vehicle was great but when I brought it back they charged me extra because when I picked up the car the gas was 20.9 and when I returned it was on 20.1 my thing is that it was on full how was I suppose to know the point I think its very unfair to charge 11.00 for something you cant figure out

2022-07-01I made last minute arrangements to pick up a rental car to get me how from Rochester yesterday. The young lady at the Rochester Budget counter was very nice, friendly and professional. The transaction took all of 10 minutes from start to finish. The car was in great condition, clean, trust worth. Rate was reasonable as I did a one way rental to Ithaca and was able to return it just as easily and quickly as pickup was at the Ithaca airport. Team there was equally as professional and friendly. I was very happy all the way through the process.

2022-06-12First car rental post pandemic!!! Reserved an intermediate SUV through Costco for pickup in Rochester airport. Martha was very friendly and helpful at the pickup desk to make sure we got what was reserved. On the way to our destination after flying all day, realized previous rental someone had gotten sick in the car and it was all over the front passenger area and the car had not been cleaned! Called the 800 customer service number and was told nothing could be done and take the car back where I got it.Next day returned the car for a different car! Person that checked in the car was embarrassed by the mess and claimed people are lazy not doing their job. Agent then DOWNSIZED us to a sub compact SUV with a take it or leave attitude. After realizing that I could not fit a folding walker for an elderly relative without putting down the back seats had to return the car for another car!Got the initial rental agent and she was apologetic for the hassle we were going through. She found another car for us that was the same size class that I had initially reserved. Car was clean inside and out! Left the airport and heard a lot of tire noise but could not tell if it was the road or tires. Finally inspected the tires to find they were all down to the replacement wear bars and steel belts were showing on three of the four tires.Returned the car at end of our rental time. Pointed out to the checkin agent that the tires were not legal or safe. The person didn’t believe me saying every car is safety checked prior to each rental and I damaged the tires.

It was my fault - I made an error when I booked them. The agent went way out of her way and finally found them. She showed extreme patience AND with a smile. This is the type of company you want to do business with.

2022-05-13My daughter was graduating out of state. I needed a rental at the last minute. I’ve always rented with Budget in the past. I pre-paid for a midsize SUVWhen I arrived at the rental counter signs were posted to be assisted by an Avis agent. I arrived at the counter the agent asked for a credit card. She advised they were unable to take debit card. I’ve rented with budget in the past from this location & have never had any issues with using my debit card, Instead requesting credit card. She told me there is nothing she could do without a credit card & continue to tell me that was the policy! That I was wrong that’s always been the policy.My husband arrived and we used his credit card for the hold after waiting in line. Another agent assisted us. However she didn’t even tell me the car details of what I was renting only the slot & location for pick up! Worst service ever I will think 2x about using Budget in the future.

2022-06-06I rented an SUV (the only car they had) in Rochester for a funeral for an uncle in Pultneyville, WWII vet, and family visit. I had two problems. Quoted a rate of $41 base per day, for two days, the bill was almost $200 and had been estimated at $141. I had asked to start the rental at 3:30 on Friday. and returned it about 3;55 on Sunday after confusion on finding the rental return place. Second problem: serious overinflation of 3 tires and one low. Sunday morning (second rental day) up comes a low tire pressure warning. I didnt see a clearly low tire so I went on. Checking later that day, my cousin found the rear passenger tire at 29 (needs 33) AND the other 3 tires were all above 40 and one of them was at 46 -- dangerously over-inflated. He corrected all four to 35 -- and it took him almost a half hour. I am 79 years old, very good driver record, own a Volvo XC-70, like using Avis-Budget overall but this was serious lack of maintenance on all 4 tires, not just one low tire. Do previous renters keep pumping up ok tires just to be sure? Or what? I have no idea why Budget had this problem, but it IS their duty to check tire pressure. Id like a price break for the extra hour but if that were all, Id leave no review. I dont want a nice car with tires about to blow or skid. I liked the car and return agent said he would alert the maintenance people, when I reported the problem. I am 79 years old and was traveling alone. An accident could have been Budgets fault, not mine! And the LOW TIRE PRESSURE warning might have had others prior renters before me boost all 4 and thus over-inflate 3 because they were only doing eyeballing. I hope this WAS reported and noted. The car was a MO plate.

2022-07-08I booked with Budget because, unlike other companies, they advertised that they allow domestic partners to be added on as a driver like they do married partners. Upon arrival, we could not add my partner unless we paid the additional charges... classic bait & switch. We were informed by your agent that it required proof of partnership and the agent acknowledged that marriage requires no proof (I should have claimed to be married, but I saw no reason to lie about my 12 year relationship). Who goes around with proof of marriage, partnership, civil union, etc? No one!Knowing that Budget favors married couples over non-married couples and has no hesitation in discriminating, I cannot in good conscience recommend Budget to fellow travelers. That would include Avis now that I know its all part of the same company.Though the cost itself was small, I found the experience to be unfair and upsetting after a 15 hour journey. If a counter agent has your blessing to be discriminatory in order to gain another $20, then I want nothing to do with your company.

2022-05-19The car was great and it was ready in an expedited manner. Only issue was a discrepancy between cost quoted by third party and amount actually charged. Third party worked with them to hopefully resolve the difference.
