Great service, I ordered food through grubhub and the server called me to make sure everything was okay and was extremely understanding to my needs! Very thankful for her! Great place that offers gluten free and vegan options :) thank goodness! Loved my breakfast yay

A happy place with wonderful vibes and incredibly friendly staff- I typically have allergy restrictions and had been fully attended to in regards to it! The food was great and their menu had an amazing selection of options. I used to stop by when it was formerly the Happy Cappucino- to which they told me they still serve the same coffee! Ill be more than happy to stop by again and let my friends know as well!
Awesome little spot...its a very quiet and relaxing environment, and some beautiful local art work displayed, even has one of those nice little table arcade games... highly recommend...

Stopped by today for the first time at their opening, great first impressions! Everything we had was delicious from the made to order Lox Bagel to the grab and go breakfast pizza and bagel sandwiches. We even went back in for a blueberry scone to top off the meal. We are excited to come back and try the coffee everyone else seemed to be coming in for from the farmers market as well as other menu items. To top it off the staff was friendly and even in the middle of their first day open everything was super clean. Bud’s feels like a great addition to downtown Schenectady!
Super impressed with this place. The coffee is perfect, the grab and go breakfast sandwiches are perfect (real fresh!) and the staff is very friendly and helpful. So happy Buds on Jay exists, it’s exactly what downtown needed, quality and creative food choices and top notch coffee!

Friendly staff who are outwardly grateful that youre visiting their shop. Coffee was great and the smokeshow sandwich was awesome. Only suggestion would be fewer options when ordering a sandwich off the menu. Unless its a create your own or something I dont really care to pick the bread, cheese, dressing... haha I was too high to make choices 😂.
Staff is always friendly. I appreciate that they open early enough for me to stop in before work to pick up a tasty breakfast. The grab and go egg sandwiches are always fresh, and tasty. Breakfast burrito also a winner. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Checked out Buds on Jay on their opening day and was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The atmosphere of the café was clean and welcoming. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions regarding ingredients (im vegan). A lot of my friends and family are not vegan however, and now have somewhere we can all go and find something we like. There are also tables with built in arcade games in them which is pretty neat and something I havent seen before - highly recommend and will definitely be returning
Awesome breakfast & lunch spot! The scones are fabulous! If you like spicy foods, get the chipotle potato salad with your lunch. Great flavor with some heat. Coffee/tea drinks have been good, iced chai was perfect. So delish! Staff are very friendly & efficient.
Cant get enough of the chipotle potato salad! So far I have ordered 3 different meals from here and was never disappointed. Makes me want to explore the rest of what they offer. Thank you for providing such a diverse menu.

Really mean and nasty owner. Completely unprofessional when I asked for oat milk he said “yes and we have whole milk unlike the girl next door who offers basically nothing” extremely rude. Do not go here!

2022-03-07Continuing my mission on finding great cold brew I ran to Buds On Jay and Ill easily be going back for a good cold brew fix when needed! I also had the Vegan Breakfast Burrito with Seitan and it has me excited to check out the rest of their menu. The location is very convenient and the service was quick & friendly. The place itself has a fun chill vibe and the pet items shelf sold me on wanting to support this local business, Im ready for my next visit!

2022-05-10I placed my first order with Buds on Jay and Im not disappointed. Large side of poatoe salad with a nice peppery kick. My Lydia chicken sandwich on a croissant hits the hunger spot easily. I asked for the ranch to be on the side and it was. Looking forward to ordering again.

2022-02-13We came to Schenectady for a Union College hockey game and came across Buds on Jay while walking through town. We had breakfast there and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. They have a number of options with a varied combination of ingredients. Everything was fresh, the staff was efficient and friendly and the coffee was wonderful. Highly recommend.

2022-04-29Went here twice on an overnight stay in town - once for just coffee, once for breakfast. Its small and chic and has two tables with playable arcade games built in. The lattes we had were delicious with super smooth espresso. For breakfast we had some of the homemade oatmeal and croissant breakfast sandwiches, both of which we enjoyed. Good vibes, great playlist choices, and fantastic service.

2021-12-16The food is delicious and creative. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The staff was friendly and the menu looked great! Five stars for creativity and taste!I only gave three stars as this wrap costs $12.99 plus tax. The wrap was far from full (two small pieces of chicken and a small handful of greens) and the pickle served appeared it was quartered from a spear. For that price I assumed bigger portions, I figured I could eat a half and have the other for lunch the next day. I think a better price for this menu item would have been $7.99.
