I was visiting Albany on business from Westchester County which is over 2.5 hours away. While shopping at the Mall I was craving for a good Burger.The family was also. I googled a search and my daughter suggested Build a Burger Pub.I Love mom and Pop type of eateries.I had the BEST bacon cheeseburger with seasoned crispy fries.The owner and staff were the most friendliest people you’d ever want to meet.Needless to say I saved this location on my GPS. I do frequent Albany and I definitely will not be in this area without stopping at Build a Burger Pub.
Came here for lunch. You choose your burger options and give it to the waitress. Sit at the bar or at one of the tables. Decent beer selection. Food was tasty, cooked well, came out quickly. Nice chill atmosphere. Would recommend to give this place a shot.
They do burgers right! A lot of options for toppings and sauces. One of our favorite small business for burger night.

Loved the customer service and feel of the restaurant, but people really go places for the food. This place does not dissapoint in that department. Massive burger perfectly cooked as ordered, tons of fries and a unique feel greet you here. If you just want a big hulking burger and fries that are reasonably priced along with a beer, this is probably the best recommendation Ive got for the area.
Cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of flavor all the way till the last bite. I will be returning.

Food great also, The Live Entertainment featuring Working Class Band the best group I have seen in a long time. They were excellent!!! Classic Rock at its finest.

Hands down the best burger Ive ever had, their beef is super flavorful, perfect slight well done skinny fries. Only burger joint that actually knows what medium rare is supposed to be.
You have to make a pretty great burger 🍔 to make me wanna come back after forgetting my bacon 🥓 🐖 but well be back! The burgers even got my picky kids to eat so its definitely a win win!
Amazingly delicious burgers broiled at your taste and with all the topping your hear may desire (or more). Word of advice....the burgers are big both for stomach and mouth.
Very friendly atmosphere, best burger Ive had in a long time. We came in 10 minutes before they closed as a party of three having left the carnival that evening and found this charming little locals pub and burgers. Hoping for a late night meal we went in to be served a perfect evening cheers to the bartender and the cook thank you again.
Great food and cool atmosphere. The burgers are amazing and its all Ive ordered. The pub itself is very interesting. They have live music, pool table, chess, darts, etc. There is a patio out back and they have bands out there too. The service is fantastic. Everyone is friendly and attentive.

Googled best burgers around and it did not disappoint. Ive never had a burger taste that good in a long time add their home cut fries and friendly atmosphere makes this place one of the best resturants Ive been too in years. Will 100% be back.
Loved the taste of the food, hated the service... Got all of our orders wrong! The server talked and looked like drunk, his mask was keep falling off his face. He sat by our son! Any other time it would have been fine but no when there is a six feet distance required! I asked for no bacon got bacon full burger! The cook came out of the kitchen to the table giving us hot sauce because he forgot to add the sauce to the wings! Not wearing mask!!! We all felt violated! All three of us took shower after got home from there!!! Thats how it made us feel!!! The experience was insane!!! Never going back there again!
Dont let the looks of this place scare you when you first walk in. We almost walked back out, but thankfully didnt, because we would have missed this gem. Friendly staff, excellent food, good service, and good prices. This place has it all! My companion was helped through the ordering process by a very courteous waitress/bartender to build his burger. Which he rated an 11 on a scale of 1-10. I got the chicken wings, also awesome. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend
Excellent food, very friendly service. I had been in once before and that was great too, today went with the wife and we both loved our perfectly cooked burgers. I had grilled onions and mushrooms on top, very tasty. We shared a Sunday special of nachos with chili, which was awesome with their fresh pick. Will be back soon!
My very favorite dive bar environment with amazing burgers and fries. Theres always an entertaining bartender and patrons that anyone can talk with. The burgers are fresh, huge and made to your specifics with a list of toppings 20 plus deep. The chicken sandwiches are just as good as the burgers.Support this local small business, they know what they are doing!
Best burger I have had! Toppings were so good and so plentyfull and FREE bacon tonight!! Fries are fresh and delicious. Wings were cooked perfect! The blu cheese is to die for! Waitstaff was extremely helpful and attentive! We will be back soon!
Went there for 50 cent wings on Monday and it was really good. You had to choose from 10 or 12 wings and they had some really good sauce I got the Cajun honey and it was a nice combo of sweet and spicy. The bartender was taking our order and he was great and cracked a couple of jokes with us. Would definitely go back to get a burger because that is what they specialize in.
Been a patron of this restaurant for over 10 years. The burgers are sensational, the wait staff is very friendly. Prices are very affordable as well. Amazing portion size also most of the other patrons are super friendly, to top it all off they have some awesome live musicians play there from time to time.
Literally one of the best spots Ive ever found. Small but great. Burgers are always on point. Service is always phenomenal. Decor is a bit outdated but definitely worth the stop. Would highly recommend.
Been here a few times. Burger is excellent. Customer service is hit or miss depending on who is waiting on you. Most recent visit deserves a 1 star because my group was confronted when the waitress, I believe Don was her name, thought we left a sub par tip. Granted, it wasnt the most high of tips but the service really wasnt great. Only checked on once and we had to snag her as she was walking away to ask for refills which we all clearly needed. She was a bit rude when taking our order. Then she combined all our checks into one without asking if we wanted seperate checks. The craziest part was how she acted after seeing our tip. She confronted us by saying things like are you kidding me? and followed us to our car while shaking her head at us then glared at us through the window while we were driving away. Really really unprofessional. Definitely cant come back now because wed all be paranoid of her spitting in our food!
I dont like riding on a piece of paper and checking off how I want my burger I think thats laziness the way to or waitress should be able to take the order with no problem. The burger was very good the fries were way too salty.

Terrible customer service....refused to serve me because I had my SERVICE dog (not an ESA) demanding to know what my disability was. Not too sure how establishments are so uneducated.
Been to several burger restaurants around the area, this one at the top!! Sit down, grab an order form, fill it out with all your preferences. Out comes a juicy, sizzling burger with your toppings on a separate plate.......Excellent, been here several times, and Mike never disappoints! Good beer selection, bottle and draft!! Dont forget.... Everydays also has awesome WINGS! Stop in.....Its well worth it
Great and friendly service novel waythey served soda in a small picture with a straw.Burgers were hand made and juicy with many free toppings hot and cold.Great fries.I will be back.
OMG! If you have never been please go! The burgers are AMAZING! Cooked to order and the FRIES again OMG! We would go every day but (weight gain) prevents that! The staff is very friendly even show first timers how the order forms work. The choices in toppings is great as well. JUST GO AND ENJOY A TASTEY BURGER.
Build a Burger Pub is the best place in Schenectady to get a burger, fried fish or a signature soup. They offer filling and generous portions for an affordable cost. The environment is warm and a good place to spend lunch at.

Its a bar with bar food. We stopped into see a band. The guys were on point with service. They didnt stop the whole time. I dont do alot of 5 stars. However, for a local joint that is not a classy upscale establishment. This place is great to stop by and get a drink or some quick to eat. Nice job and we will return in the future. Thanks.
This place tried to kill me with bacon. Challenge accepted. When I asked for a cheeseburger with bacon, I was a little put off by the added price. They did not skimp. There was a wad, and thats not an exaggeration, a wad of bacon as thick as the patty. This burger made me grow a mustache and start spouting libertarian political phylosophy. It should be eaten with 16 year Lagavulan scotch. Its threatening, but only because it want to make a man out of you. Damn that was one fine burger.
The waitress came by once in 3 hours. Never refilled my drink or asked, never came to take a food order. The place is dingy and filthy looking. Ordered a burger later to go and was less than impressed

Bartender was drunk and rude. Very unprofessional. Food was decent but not enough for me to ever go back due to the rude staff. Bartender must of had at least 5 jager and redbulls while i was there for a hour.

I won’t lie… I was a little worried when we showed up but my were my expectations exceeded.This is the true definition of ‘Dive Bar’ and one that really stands out to me. The waitress was beyond kind and helpful, the food was fresh and tasty and the prices were just right.You can tell they still take pride in what they do, smelling the burgers being made while you wait and enjoy conversation with the locals.Go enjoy a burger, cold beer and a nice evening at this hidden gem outside of Albany. You won’t be disappointed.

2022-01-24Was in the area for a different purpose and it was well past lunch. The staff was really nice and accommodating. The food was what you would expect from the location. The burger was actually medium rare just as we ordered. Other reviews said things should be updated. Sometimes alls you need is a great burger for a good value.

2022-02-02Hole in the wall type of place, could definitely use a little tlc. Server/bartender was nice and attentive, no complaints. Burgers are huge, had to squish them down just to take a bite. I would say the burgers are a bit over priced tho. 50 bucks for 2 burgers, 1 beer, and 1 soft drink..(tip not included)Would I go again? Sure in the summer to enjoy outside seating.

2021-04-13OUTSTANDING burgers! Burgers are so big they are hard to wrap your mouth around them. My 10 yr old daughter could not stop saying that it is the best burger shes ever had and I would agree that it is one of the best. Loaded with bacon for $3, so many sauces to choose from and the fries are delicous too. Waitor was also the cook. Really nice guy. On Saturdays the bacon is free. My son had the chicken quesadillas and it was huge and delicious. We absolutely recommend this place.

2020-03-02Best burger I’ve had in a long time! The hand cut fries are just as delicious. Everything is served on a warm iron skillet. It’s such a nice touch. Free bacon on Saturdays! The atmosphere is a super friendly, laid back, neighborhood pub feel. It was our first time there and we were treated like long time customers. Our bartender, Matt, was fun to talk to and had us laughing. You don’t find gems like this place anymore. I’ll be back soon!!!

Down to earth local crowd with a user friendly atmosphere :)*NICE* covered back deck area!!!They carry a decent tap selection of brea and have a seasonal IPA or similar - which is awesome to keep up.Bottom line:GO THERE + Support Local!!!

2022-01-30The pub was closing when we were coming in because they close early on Sundays. When I asked they offered to still make us food which was awesome of them. The food was hot fresh and awesome.
