Sometimes it feels like vegans and vegetarians are getting punished with higher prices just because they don’t eat meat. No one minds paying a little more if it’s cooked well, tastes great, and the establishment cooks the food on a grill that’s not sharing meat. This is very important and the great staff and owners at Burger Heights acknowledged this and serve up some really nice tasting vegan and vegetarian burgers. And the young lady taking the order was very nice and informative when I asked about separate grills. You can build any type of burger you can imagine, and they have names for them. It’s well worth a stop if you’re in the area and even worth a train ride. They have free delivery and they work with Uber Eats. #ubereats #burgerheights #vegan #vegetarian #nyc #googlemaps #sankofatafari #kingofcoffeenyc #kingofmarijuananyc #durambessa #lionofthebx #manhattan #burgers #veganburgers #veggieburgers
I have been going since it opened. The owner is a very nice guy. Staff is always changing though. The place itself is beautiful! I love the wood - he mentioned how they got it but I forgot - but very nice. The combination of wood and metal I like. Its a very small spot but it feels like stepping into Chelsea (the neighborhood) I like that vibe. Basically anything up here that feels like not up here impresses me. The food is delicious. The menu in the beginning seemed to offer more interesting options, I guess some items didnt sell well as they have been replaced by more common offerings I guess. The only thing that could have been better at the beginning and still now - the fries - same consistency inside and out I prefer fluffy inside light crisp outside. As time passed it was obvious original cook not there anymore as the burgers just dont have the rich flavor anymore they used to have. The place was very popular and seems to have faded, my guess is from the food not being as impressive as it first was, still good but it was better. I had no idea they opened another location will definitely check that out soon.
The first thing I heard about this place when they opened was their similarity to Shake Shack. Since I like Shake Shack, that was not a bad thing to me. I could see similarities in their offerings, and also their logo. Regardless, they seem to be doing pretty good with high reviews. There is a small seating area right at the entrance with counter table and bar stool chairs. The inside is not very big, just enough to fit a handful of people comfortably. It was nice and clean, bright and open. They had a delivery staffs on stand-by, as they seem to get many delivery orders. They don’t have many seating, but a creative way to maximize it. They have a counter with bar stool in the inside, and another counter, set several inches lower, facing the restaurant with metal chairs. I believe they close the window during the cold months, which eliminates the few seats that are places outside.Once your order is placed, then they start to cook your order. This means that it takes a bit longer time for your food to ready, but it will be super fresh! We ordered Overlook burger, Amsterdam burger, Sweet Potato Fries, Cheese Fries, Dolce de Leche Shake, and Mint Chocolate Chip Shake. They do not have any “set” items, so everything need to be ordered separately. The staffs were young and chit chatted with each other the entire time. But they did cook the food pretty well, and they kept the place clean. At a place like this, that is much more important than a friendly, polite service…although, it will be nice to get both…I was very happy to visit this place finally. I was pleasantly surprised with their high quality ingredients and the food. It was better than I expected! I would like to go back and try some other offerings in a near future. Read my full review of the restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.
Had a great Ft. Washington veggie burger and some crispy sweet potato fries. Decent pricing and reasonable timing. Would definitely recommend due to the options and pricing of the place. Good location if you’re near the medicalcenter area or George Washington Bridge. Hopethis helps!
When I placed an order to pick-up, I realized they advertise free delivery all over the place, yet when I was on the website it said $1.50 delivery fee. I brought this up to the cashier who pointed to the owner standing behind me...he claimed not to know. I told him you should prob take care of that because customers dont like false advertising, and his response was, wait for it, you dont HAVE to order here followed by giving me the finger. They dont deserve customers. Enjoy the loans when you shutter.
Delicious burgers. Its on the smaller side, but tasty. Its nice that they have a few other topping options beyond the basics to keep things interesting.Milkshakes are thick and flavorful. The wait can be a bit during peak times, but you can order online and then go to pick up at their window.
Burger Heights is an excellent burger spot. They have all high quality ingredients and a good variety of burgers, including several non meat options if thats what youre into. The fries are good and the sweet potato fries are better. They also have fancy hot dogs and Gelato milk shakes. When you finish eating at Burger Heights you feel good, like you just ate real food. Not like when you eat at a big chain Burger place and you feel like you ate a huge burger that had no food in it.
They charge $16 for their meat free burger and they dont even cook it right. I ordered it twice and both times it was an under cooked mush, the first time it was cold in the middle. Also that fact that its on potato bread doesnt help especially when they dont know how to build their burgers. Their fries are great tho.
Came across this spot by mistake. Small friendly place... good, fresh juicy burgers!! I bought one just to try and ended up buying another one to take home with me... Just make sure you eat it while its hot for best results. The staff had great customer service skills, also. Definitely going back soon
Cozy place with a few small seating areas. A bit pricey but Im willing to pay extra for a hormone and antibiotic-free burger, which is what they offer. They source their meat from the same company as Shake Shack does, and while the meat quality could be better, its a step above Shake Shack.Fries are okay, but a step below Shake Shack, or even Wendys.Service is good and burgers are cooked to order while you wait. The place gets crowded during the warm weather. Overall a great edition to the neighborhood. 👌
The sweet potato fries were the highlight. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options here! Not easy to swap toppings though - I wanted to swap avocado for sautéed onions which are cheaper and I was ok with that, but they wouldn’t let me swap without charging extra for the onions... what the?! Anyway the burgers were good but the fries will bring me back, honestly.
The burger patties have no taste to them and are small. There’s a lot of great toppings you can put on the burger, but a McDonalds patty has more flavor than this. It also takes a while for your food to be cooked, even for smaller orders. I will say though that their fries are awesome with options of regular and sweet potato. I’d go back just for fries.
Right on the corner of 182nd and Wadsworth, Burger Heights is a small, space but high quality burger & hot dog joint offering with shake and ice cream options as well, gearing towards the locals with burger names like Wadsworth, Broadway, and other street names in the Washington Heights area. The rolls & sauces were fresh and new and complimented the rest of the burger very well. Plus they give you options like sweet potato fries to mix it up from the regular fries youd get elsewhere. The burger concoctions they create stick with trendy-type burgers and about 10 different types pre-made to choose from aside from making your own requests and run about $5 - $9 each. Theyll take about 7-9 minutes to cook and serve and you have a small seating area with stools that probably limits itself to a crowd of 15 but there are a lot of people who grab to go.I enjoyed the open wall they have open during the summer and really think this will be a good add to the changing living environment in the area. Its a great place to grab a quick burger and go about your business on the weekends or in between errands during the week.
The burger I had was good. Nothing super over-the-top, but for a basic burger joint it was good (and thankfully not saturated with pepper ugh). But their sweet potato fries were some of the best Ive ever had! And that sauce they give you to go with those fries! Maybe it was the day, but I almost wanted to be a glutton and get a second order of fries. Definitely worth heading back uptown for.
Our favorite spot for burgers in Manhattan. Extremely fresh and flavorful beef, great selection of toppings, made-to-order, and they NEVER disappoint. Also some pretty amazing fries and gelato shakes. Highly recommend. We come here all the time! Very affordable for the quality.
I visited for the first time a few days ago. The burger I purchased was The Broadway. It was absolutely delicious. Made with fresh ground beef. Not frozen. It reminded me of The Spot restaurant back home in Sidney, OH. They use fresh ground beef too. The staff were friendly. I had to wait on my order. I didnt mind though. Because I knew it would be fresh. I would definitely recommend trying this place out for yourself.
Super small portions. I thought i ordered a burger not a breathe mint. The pricing is outrageous considering the portions you get. I thought Id give this place a shot since it had such good reviews. Delivery was fast, but the burgers are greasy tiny balls of bread meat and cheese. Honestly this place is all panache and no substance. The burgers below mediocore at best, not to mention the fries arent all that much better. I Will not order again. You cant call your self a burger joint and after spending 40 dollars everybody is still hungry!
I had to get in and out due to a concert I was going to, but in my short time here I enjoyed a DELCIOUS burger with some great fries and a refreshing soft drink. The location is kind of crammed, but I feel this adds character to a classic-style burger joint like this. The service was great and speedy. Also, they deliver!
The burgers are really small. They are trying to imitate a shake shack style burger in the sense that it is cooked in a chubby shape. Still very small. French fries are over priced for the portion you get.Small place. It looks like a garage with garage overhead door converted into some summer outdoor looking food spot in the city in Washington Heights. They seem to get a lot of orders for delivery. Burger King down around the corner closed recently. But Burger King would normallyWashington Heights area of NY had some many drug addicts and homeless sitting in. This may be why this place is picking up business after Burger King A meal does exist in the price menu. Each item is one by one purchase. Consider buying a big gulp soda from 711 four blocks away to offset the high prices this place charges. The food taste good. However, it is too small the money. You decide.
Pretty solid burger. Their brioche bun was amazing but the patty could use more seasoning. I like their burger selection and you can also build your own burger. I got the overlook which is their mushroom and onion top burger. There is also a gucamole burger that I will want to try next time. I skipped the fries cuase it does add up when you get drink, fries and burger.
Really excellent meat & selection of toppings. We ordered two beef burgers on lettuce (no bun), vegan cheese, grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms & pickles + a small French fries & got free water. It came to $21.70. This was seriously one of the best burgers I have ever had & Im one of those people who more than occasionally orders a burger in upscale restaurants (one of my favorite burgers is Marseille on 9th Ave.) The burgers could be larger but for this quality at this price just order two. The one downside is that this is primarily a takeout & delivery spot - so there is limited seating & that is on stools at a narrow counter. The fries are also unusually good. Irregular lengths of potato cut at a width / diameter between a fast food fry and a steakhouse fry. Browned not quite crispy & well seasoned.
Fries are great, the burgers are quite mediocre. There really isnt anything special with the burgers as far as tastes. However, some are actually interesting with the addition of avocado. Overall, the food is the same everywhere else. The good thing is that it is located uptown and can compete with shake shack. This place brings the Downtown atmosphere Uptown and has a great selection of music. If you are looking for a quick burger fix from an average location I recommend burger heights.Juicy-ness: 3/5Fries: 5/5location:4/5Friendliness:5/5Freshness:4/5Price: $$$, it is too expensive for its small burgers. You also have to buy your fries. Id rather go to shake shack, or steak and shake.
Just went to this place today and I ordered the number 1 and I gotta say, that it was one of the best tasting burgers Ive tasted. I love that its fresh and I dont mind the wait. At least Im guaranteed that what Im eating is quality. Unlike Mcdonalds or Burger King, whose burgers are sometimes underdone. I also love that they have delivery! In fact, I think imma order one tonight! I wish they had one in Massachusetts though, where Im from.
Fire. Long story short, ITS GOOD!! Similar to shake shack in quality but not a clone. Taste amazing. The fries fill ya boy up easy. Staff is always on point and kind. Yo, great to take your girl to. Almost every girl Ive taken here has shown love. Not that Ive taken many girls here, Im not that type of guy, but the few that I have, lets ya say the burgers werent the only thing smashed if you catch my drift.I love the Broadway Burger. I get mine medium. It can get a bit expensive but its still a good price for a burger, fries and a drink, its just that sometimes it tastes so good you want a second burger and its like damn. I want to but spending that guap on just lunch for one person... Its worth it tho not gonna lie. Writing this made me wanna get some after work. Shoutout to the owner for taking a risk and opening this spot up. Been a customer since around the time they first opened (if you remember the original cheese fries you a real one lol, unique flavor but the new cheese fries way are better tho) .
The burgers are delicious. This and Lockmith are two best burgers in Washington Heights. I usually get the Amsterdam burger. The fries as well are on point. The burgers are a bit small for the price. My 7 year old loves this place for kids meal (plain cheeseburger, fries and apple juice) and their gelato shakes. Only problem with kids meal is that it is only available in store. I tried to order it today in store along with my familys full meal to bring home and was told child has to be present for kids meal. ****Update 11/17/20 no longer offer kids meal. Does a good job of following Covid protocols for pickup orders.
My son is a young man with autism. He is quite picky about his food. He devoured the delicious burger from BH and I loved mine too.Fast, friendly service with a smile. The handsome couple that owns this place are perfect in their work and work ethic. I see this as the first of many restaurants for this couple, if that is what they want.Go here, spend as you would in any fast food chain but love the food for its freshness and taste. This is NOT a food factory. The tastes you can create there are unique. You wont be disappointed.
As a burger joint is place is probably good, but the veggie burgers are a poor choice. The burger was dry and lacked any taste, and I suspect that didnt roast it but heated it in the oven. The sweet potato fries were not bad, but they serve them with a sweet souse, also a poor choice, since the sweet potato is, well, sweet. Overall, if youre a meat eater maybe youll enjoy (but swap the souse for the sweet potato fries), as a vegetarian, dont bother.
This place has Shake Shack-esque quality. Im a big fan of this place. You can also expect Shake Shack prices and they charge you for everything except ketchup, mustard, and water. In other words, they charge you for extra BBQ sauce and other condiments. However, I still give it 5 stars because the taste is impeccable. You never had meat in your mouth the way Burger Heights can put it in your mouth. And bless the heart of every person who allows the meat to lusciously slide down their throat. Tasty! They also have root beer.
The burgers here are amazing i absolutely love it my favorite is the broadway burger i love the taste it has tons of flavor it is cooked to your desired temperature and love the concept of naming the burgers after the streets in washington heights customer service was perfect no conplaints.
Today was my first time at Burger Heights and Im literally half way done w/ my fries, Nutella shake and already bodied my turkey burger!!! Mmm is all I can say. Not only is the food good, but the service was amazing. The cashier was sweet. The guy that made my shake was sweet.... even the guy on the grill!!!This establishment has exceptional customer service. Thank u for calling me to let me know my food was ready also.
I absolutely love this place both for delivery and sitting at the bar. My go to is the heights burger with some cheese fries. These burgers are so delicious and they put them on a fluffly potatoe bun. I would also recommend the shakes and hotdogs. The service is super fast and in the summer they open up the giant windows on the side so you can sit on either side of the bar.
This review is simply based on customer service. I tried to order some food for my son and was told I needed to have the child with me.. so my son who was home waiting for his father to bring him a burger had to settle for a happy meal from McDonalds.. which I didnt need to bring him in to get🤦🏽♂️
My wife swears by this place! She loves the burgers here but i am the one writing the review and feel less enthusiastic about the joint. Well for starters they seem to have the incredible shrinking menu. Every time i decide to order something with my wife the menu has changed yet again, i tried ordering their delicious lamb burger and fish burger on different occasions and they were no longer available. The kosher hot dogs i ordered were different than what was described on our take out menu and this seems to be a problem with this place..i have never gotten an entirely correct order. Also the burgers are quite expensive for the area, dont let the other reviews here fool you. Although the food is tasty for the most part, it comes at a premium price for the heights. Meh...im sure my wife will continue to order from this place but ill skip those burgers from now on...
Found plastic in our burger. When we tried to tell the manager he got mega defensive & call us liars. Didnt care. Disgusting service.Burger was small & needed salt. Not worth the price. Wish there was good customer service to go with the freshness of the ingredients which was the only up side - too bad it had objects in the meat.
Great little burger spot in Washington Heights. They have a nice selection of burgers, patties are cooked to order, only downside is burgers are cooked fresh so it takes around 8 minutes. Fries are large portions, easily shared by two, and are thick cut seasoned fries. I ordered the cheese fries and the serving couldnt be finished with a burger and sharing them with my girlfriend. Seating is limited and is limited to counter top seating with stools. They do have a soda fountain, with Coke products, and free refills. I ordered two burgers, The Heights burger w/ bacon and The Amsterdam, cheese fries and a regular soda; the total came out to $20 with change. I thought it was worth it.
I had this spot bookmarked and was in the area and had a taste for a burger. First off very good customer service from the lady at the register was great and helpful. They have a very good quality of meat for the price and very delicious menu selection across the board for burger junkies. The bread was average and simple but everything else in between was very good. Heads up for first timers if you are claustrophobic then you will not like it here because it is pretty tight when busy. I definitely recommend using the chipolte sauce on the side for the first time to make sure you like it so you dont mess up your buger. The sauce has an interesting taste to it which may not be for everyone who have a certain taste for Chipolte sauce they are used to. My rating is really a 3.5 star. Its a good burger for the cost but it could be better in certain areas in my opinion. I would come back when in the mood for a quick bite most definitely.
Great Burger place in the Heights. Obviously Shake Shack inspired, which I wont complain about. I got cheese fries and the Fort Washigton veggie burger. The fries are amazing, better than Shake Shack in my opinion. The veggie burger is also good, the guac topping is above average and the party has good texture and flavor. My only wish would be that the veggie patty were smaller, it feels too big for the bun and overwhelms the other toppings. The patty size also makes the burger hard to eat.
The food here is great--no doubt--but the service, not so much. I placed a future delivery order on Seamless for 7:30 tonight. At 6:35, I get a call from the delivery driver that hes at my building. I called the main number to make sure everything was in order, and instead of apologizing, offering to make my food again and deliver it at the correct time, the woman I spoke to said that the future delivery time cannot be guaranteed and is an estimate. 15 minutes either way, ok I understand, but it was almost an hour early. That is not acceptable. I told her I wouldnt even be home for ten more minutes. She said shed send the delivery guy over in ten minutes... I guess Ill be getting a cold burger and fries. Not happy about this.
Good burger... special sauce has the familiar taste of big mac sauce. Pretty much like a shake shack burger, thats not a bad thing! The fries are thick, but they dont have a crispy taste, so I wasnt a fan of those. the shakes are pretty good, try some dulce de leche if you can.
Want to have an out of the ordinary burger in the neighbor? I truly recommend you to stop by Burger Heights and grab the Black Bean Burger with a fresh Guacamole Toping, roman Lettuce and plum tomato, and dont walk out of the place without trying out their shakes. My favorite was Hazel Nut, but today I decided a new flavor of Coconut and for my delight tasted awesome! I think you should try it too when you are walking around in Washington Heights!
Burger Heights continues to be one of my favorite burger joints in the city and in general. When Im in New York visiting from Sacramento, Burger Heights is a must. Im a fan of In and Out but it doesnt compare to the quality at BH. The patties for the burgers are perfect.
Had a delivery and all went well but the packaging used on the burgers is horrible. My burger was all rolled up into a ball, I suggest going to traditional packing cause it just was a wet soggy mess. I didnt expect to see that type of packaging ever so its honestly more laughable than maddening.
Burger Heights delicious dont have one good burger that I know if I dont try the other ones cuz I am an inbred or something like that Is delicious I like the burger Heights Burger do you know the one of the beginning at the beginning of the page Yeah I like that one yeah I like that like that burger Some fries I buy my soda out of the bodega cuz You know
Ive ordered from Burger Heights a few times now. Never really had an issue, the fast food is great for what it is. The place is little on the small side but its still feels cozy, both locations feel family friendly with all the coworkers talking and working cooperatively. What had gotten me alittle more than infuriated was when I tried to use the code HOT to get $5 off an order I made, for it only to say it was expired. This is after the fact that there the email with the coupon said it was for the 25th to the 27th (I was trying to order on the 27th). It did not state an exact time by which the coupon should be used. Thought it was a mistake, so i take a call to the wadsworth location and a female employee picks up, tells me that she is the manager. She had not heard of this coupon, and immediate answer was that there was nothing she could do about it, then proceed to hang up the phone after murmuring something under her breathe. Short story- I was let down that the code I was waiting to use had expired. But more over irked at the sheer fact that someone could be so unprofessional in handling a customer call.
The delivery guy was extremely rudeGot my address wrong despite me putting it down correctly and even from there he got the apt wrong it the correct building and it wasn’t even a close innocent mistake (which shouldn’t matter because I put down the CORRECT ADDRESS THE FIRST TIME ON YOUR APP)He scouffs at me and says “NO TIP??” as I close the door TO GRAV HIS TIP (which after that drastically decreased) and after he scouffs at me again about the amount. This is the worst service I ever received ordering a burger and I should’ve had it delivered by Five Guys, Burger King or ANY Diner instead.Food is Great but the service was the worst I really didn’t need his attitude today!Talk to that delivery guy and teach him 1. Patience but most importantly some manners! I’m livid!
Extremely long wait for over priced burnt meat which give me the impression that there is no quality control or the business has stopped caring about their clients. Upon arriving to the location staff was reluctant to give me my money back in its entirety. Never go to this business as the management is poorly ran when the owner is not present.
They deliver up to 191st street, I live on 193rd. Made an order on line went to type in all my information until the red error that they dont deliver to my address! I live 15 minute walking from them!! Thats the first time i get this from any place around here! I called them too, and they just flat put told me they dont deliver! Not a good practice. Was going to spend quite some money with them. Oh, well. Not even going to bother trying them.

2022-06-09Today was my first time eating here. I have to say the food is really good with plenty of options. My food was ready within like 6 to 8 minutes. And the staff are friendly. Overall this is a great local burger spot to go to. I recommend this place.

2021-12-07Absolutely delicious 🤤😍😍😍I am not really a burger 🍔 fan but once I tasted burger heights burgers it hasn’t been the same. Honestly I never tasted better burgers from these. I will travel all the way from NJ for these burgers. I highly recommend to try their over look burger. This restaurant gives you a mouth watering taste to remember

2021-09-20Absolutely amazing burgers, the first time I came I was skeptical, but I had the “heights” burger and loved it, then I had the heights sauce and was blown away! This time around I got the Amsterdam and I loved it!! If your in the area, this place is a must try

2022-05-03Giving this place 5 stars because it allows for customization similar to 5Guys without the elevated prices. I got the St Nichols burger that includes grilled jalapeño and pepperjack cheese with Guacamole and Bacon as add-ons. Would definitely recommend because they are served fairly quickly and the fries are also good.

2021-09-15I normally love burger heights but in the last year or so the quality of their food has taken a hit. This is their grilled cheese. It’s not very melty or that delicious. It just felt like a cheap school grilled cheese. For $3.75, it is very lackluster. Not your place for a grilled cheese even though it’s on the menu.

2022-02-05This is my FAVORITE burger restaurant. They never miss. It’s delicious every time. The sauce is the best sauce I’ve ever had and the fries are thick and crispy. The burgers are juicy and very flavorful. Whenever I get the chance I order from here. Highly recommend!!!!

2020-07-19*Super juicy and tasty patty*toppings are great, the heights sauce is great( I wish they offer regular bun, the standard one is potato bun )* the burger is little bit smaller than regular side.. I would say it’s between regular and Bite size, but that’s a pass for the price and quality*covid19 measures respected.Paid $7.07 with taxes for the Heights burger

2018-09-23Great cute place for burgers. Gourmet burgers done right. I ordered the Amsterdam. Fresh lettuce. Delicious guac. Such care is taken with the burgers that i was surprised with the cheese fries. The cheese here is cheap nacho with no flavor. The cola machine here is awesome. 1 of those with 8 flavors. Yummy!
