I actually liked it. My first time here. We love tasting different restaurants and this one was satisfying. My chinese friend has already eaten here and wanted me to try. I surely liked it. Really authentic and tasted different and good. The only issue is the space. If u have to eat in, you need to be early . True value for money too. Overall a good eat.
I am a regular here and I love the taste of their food. Plus, the price is great and the service is fast, so it’s both convenient and satisfying. If you love all things spicy, this is the place. My recommendation are the beef tripes, beef cold noodle, mapo tofu noodle, and chicken on chilly oil. You will come back for more.
This is truly amazing food!We stopped by on a whim and ended up coming back the next day.We had beef noodle soup, mopo tofu noodle, cold sesame noodle, cold spicy chicken noodle and spicy chili oil wonton so far. Had to stop ourselves from getting more items. All dishes were authentic. This is the real deal, not Americanized. If you value great food and dont mind the cozy seating, this will be your new favorite spot.Already thinking what Ill have next time.
One of my new favorite spots for beef noodles in NYC! Sooo good and authentic. The wontons are absolutely incredible and made fresh in house. I could eat a million of them. Highly recommend anything on the menu. Amazing husband and wife duo. Definitely a neighborhood gem you must try! You’ll be a regular soon after 😊
I ate here for the first time today and had a great experience! I really appreciated the fact the menu was small. It made it much easier for me to decide what to order. I ordered the wontons in chili oil and they were great. I meant to order the cucumber dish but due to somemiscommunication I got the braised trotter. let me tell you something, this mistake made my day! I normally would not have eaten braised trotter on my own but I will now. Overall, this was a great experience and I hope to return soon to try a few more dishes.
Undoubtedly the best fried rice I’ve ever had. And my friend’s vegetable noodle soup was fresh, rich, and tasty. Something that takes skill to do with vegetable based broths! Very small and unpretentious from the outside but upon entering I was greeted by a lovely couple taking orders and chopping fresh vegetables within sight from their little kitchen. Great food, very affordable prices and the taste of authentic, culturally diverse cuisine. Exactly what one wishes to find when coming to New York City.
An amazing, truly authentic Chinese rice noodle place. I always reserve a soft spot in my heart for Burp Bowl Cafe, and the joy and comfort it brings to me are much more outlasting than those from fancy fine dining restaurants. Even after I moved to downtown, where Burp Bowl is out of the delivery radius, I would take a 20 min subway here just to taste those savory rice noodle dishes.Must try: Spicy chicken rice noodle with soup, wonton, chicken with chili sauce, bitter melon salad
I came here for dinner one night and ordered the spicy beef noodle soup. The noodles themselves were great, but I thought the meat was a bit lacking. There was also a lot of oil, which I guess is expected since spicy oil has, well, oil. The flavor was bold and strong, but I thought it might have had MSG since I was quite thirsty afterward. Portions were acceptable for the price; it was about $9 post-tax. I might come by if Im around the area again - honestly, Id give it 3.5 stars, but the cleanliness is a bit lacking and the staff arent the friendliest so I hesitate giving it 4 stars.
Cheap, fast, greasy food. Counter service, barely 10 seats in the place. Noodle soups are good and filling. If you want spicy, be prepared to sweat, theres no going back from it. Start light and work your way up. Overall, good quality for the price, if only the place was a little cleaner.
Tasty, no fuss, affordable Chinese food. The restaurant is a very small hole-in-the wall spot, so take it to go. Its amazing theyve fit a kitchen in here! The spicy cold noodles with chicken were flavorful and not too spicy. The scallion pancakes are not to be missed.
I stumbled upon this place one day while walking home from work and I stopped in not expecting much. The place was small and there is only one man working but the pictures looked pretty appetizing. I come here around at least once a week to get more food. Its cheap, tasty, and fast! I love the buns and would suggest the beef or chicken!Definitely would recommend and dont judge this place until you taste! This isnt a place that you can easily sit down it. It really is a more of a take away type of thing. Not sure if they deliver but its not a far walk from me so I dont mind going to get it. Its close to Baruch so Im certain its a favorite for students in between classes. This place has great prices so if youre looking for a good deal this place is the way to go!
Amazing Guizhou style noodles! You’re not going to find food like this just anywhere. Get the spicy chicken noodle soup. As of July 3rd it’s open for takeout. Its a small family owned business that has to close down for a few months but is open for takeout and needs customers. Be sure to give it a chance. My favorite Asian restaurant in the city.
Been going to this place almost on a biweekly basis pre pandemic. Look no further if you want that authentic southern Chinese rice noodles experience. Two provinces in China famously known for their rice noodles; Yunnan and Guizhou. The owner is definitely from one of them.
I am a vegetarian and just happened to walk in this little whole in the wall restaurant and I am so glad I did. I had the vegetable noodle bowl DELICIOUS. I will tell everyone to come here for authentic Chinese food. The broth was so flavorful oh my God. I want more. I am a picky eater and I am truly in love. Thank you for your hospitality. See you real soon.
Wonderful wontons & noodles, Im sure the rest of the menu is fantastic as well! This tiny spot has a ton of character, service was endearing in a grumpy old folks kind of way but with traces of humor (unsurprising given this places name I suppose) and not rude in the slightest! They obviously have a lot of devoted regulars, which is totally well deserved and gladdening- I want this cafe to stay open forever!
5 Star! Go here for a warm bowl of soup plus noodles on a cold or rainy day and you are sure to come back smiling. They offer various non-vegeterian options and 1 vegeterian option. It is a small kitchen and the flavours are authentic. Vegetables are fresh and have a crunch to them.I would recommend this place and visit soon.
Got their Spicey Chicken Rice... There was not a single thing good about this place nor food. Place is very dirty. Rice i ordered was disgusting. The guy literally warmed up the rice in microwave. Chicken looked old and dark. People rave about their soup, I didnt try it, so i wont say anything about it, but overall, STAY AWAY!!!
Mr. Luo (or Burp Bowl Cafe. Still using the same name from previous restaurant) is the only place you can get truly authentic Chinese noodle and homemade style wontan soup in this area. Just opened two month ago. Its totally different than regular Chinese restaurants. Spicy but not hot. Non or maybe less MSG. Broth is made by boiling chicken, pork, and beef bones. Awesome quality in low price. If they had better interior design, I would definitely pay $5 more for each dish.My coworker and I found this awesome place last month. Then we go there 2-3 times a week. Highly recommend their Lamb Rice Noodle Soup (no strange smell!), Szechuan Style Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce, and Wonton in Red Chili Oil!!
My food wasnt ready after 30 minutes. They are lacking professionalism. Finally when I was picking up some tissues and one pair of chop sticks, they were not happy about it. They were talking behind me saying my friend, why are you talking these for. I mean if those are not for customers, keep it behind the register. Really disappointed.
Very small storefront, but said to be very authentic. But the summer is too hot, so I only ordered cold noodles with sesame sauce and chicken with saliva. The cold noodles with sesame sauce was not bad. It is estimated that due to inflation, the price has also increased. Occasionally passing by can go to eat, but it is not worth visiting.
Authentic spicy noodles bowls, Mandarin only speaking staff but very nice. (Use Google translate) A bit overpriced for the same menu in Chinatown. But, so convenient for Midtown east. Small space with few chairs and table. 6 train a block away on Park. An authentic spicy noodle bowl that only speaks Mandarin, but the staff is good, but the same menu in Chinatown is a bit expensive. However, it is very convenient for the Midtown in the east. Small space with few chairs and tables. 6 Train one block in the park.

2022-04-23Burp bowl is amazing, what a great find. It’s a small tucked away place that makes the most delicious, warming and addicting noodle soups. Burp Bowl is simple straight-up good cooking, with a small but carefully chosen menu that hits the spot. Perfect for a quick eat or grab-and-go.I will definitely be going back. Again, and again, and again.

2022-03-25This place is legit. I got the mapo tofu. Thats the first thing I always get at a Chinese noodle place to see if I like it. Ive spent a lot of time in China and Im always looking for new places. I was playing at the cutting room and looked for a place for dinner before the show. I was surprised to find this place in the neighborhood. An odd place for a real Chinese place. I was blown away. Spicy. Numbing. Great flavor. Next time Im in the area Ill definitely go back.

2022-03-30Omg, the food was amazing here! I had the intestine rice noodle soup, and my bf got the spicy chicken fried rice! And we got the pork dumplings in chili oil to share. It was all so good! I havent had good food like that in a while. Its a small, cute little home cooked spot with minimal seating, so just be aware of that! But no complaints here. Its definitely worth a try!

2021-12-21My husband and I’ve been visiting this place for years, even after we move out of the town. This is a small but warm place. The noodles taste amazing and really authentic. It makes me thinking about home…

2022-05-09They have the best tripe in chili oil! So flavorful and tingly. I constantly crave it, so we order here often. Other items on the menu are great as well. Just be careful with your spice level on the noodle soups because it can be very numbing. However, I would stick to ordering takeaway from here because the place is such a hole in the wall and cleanliness is questionable. But then again, most good food comes from places such as this.

2022-04-26This is one of the best bowl of beef noodle soup you will get in NYC. A mom and pop shop that’s been around for a while and continues to deliver quality, delicious meals.I’ve had almost their entire menu and the beef noodle soup, spicy chicken cold noodles, and chili wontons are what I consistently get in rotation.Very flavorful, full of spices, and tender, melt in your mouth meat.

2020-10-22This hole in the wall authentic spicy beef noodle soup shop is the best in the city. A true hind den gem for genuine home Pa Pa cooking. It is a small yet mighty shop. There were only three tables before Covid. Now, there is only one table for outdoor dining and dose mainly takeouts. However, the spicy beef noodle soup is worthy the troubles. And the dumplings in red chili oil are smooth, meaty, and have a nice kick. Not a fancy place but absolutely fabulous.

2020-02-18Very authentic, no frills spot for Chinese food. Very homey space with great flavors! 10/10, would recommend if youre looking for simple good eats. If youre looking for fine dining or fancy decor this wont be the spot for you. The people here are nice but speak limited English. Portions are decent and the pricing is very fair
