Never pick phone for calling dozens of time. Ok fine. I went to store and ask face to face. There is a long line and let very limited people in. Wait until me, the manager just saying I don’t know, this is not on us. (WTF…). The entire store is very arrogant and not helping at all. If you want to have good service or any extended one, please do NOT go there. You won’t get anything helpful. Suggesting buy online and do everything by yourself
This place is a joke when it comes to customer service. They are trying to make it like the Supreme store by artificially inflating demand by making everyone wait in line. Even if you know exactly what you want you might as well just order online and not gamble on whether to store decides to let you spend your money there or not.
Great store, Maddy/Maddie is a super awesome representative with amazing knowledge of snowboards, shoes, bindings and what works well with what. Definitely ask her for advice on any snowboarding gear. Loved the entire store experience because of her, will definitely visit again!
Great service !Purchased bindings over the phone then bring my board a few days later, George is very helpful on setting it up, since it is my first board, he really takes time to measure my stance and recommend the right setup to fit my riding style. Not only setting up the binding, he also helped me detuned the new board as well. Really appreciate the service, 5 stars, really worth the drive to the city.
Had a great experience here being assisted by Peter the GM. He couldnt have been more helpful. Super friendly and easy going guy who showed me exactly what I was looking for. He was also super familiar with the regional mountains, providing tips and suggestions before I took off on my trip. If youre headed here, youre in good hands with Peter and his staff.
I can’t be happier with my experience today. I came in to get my brand new ion step inside heat molded and I was convinced to both exchange my boots for a size down and to hold off on heat molding. My local shop would not have taken the time to educated me and make sure I was properly fitted. On top of that, I asked for a lunch recommendation, and I was sent to Raoul’s for a steak au poivre burger….damn…that burger was off the charts. Great recommendation! Thank you!
I wanted to give a big shout out to the team at Burton NYC, you all do it right and each and every experience I have had here reminds me of why I am a loyal Burton customer and what it means to have a shop you can trust and one that shares the same passion for the sport and the products. I enjoy all aspects of Burton products from the design, the quality, the history, the colorways, the functionality or simply the huge variety of styles and its great to feel the same enthusiasm from everyone here when often times other retail employees could care less and are just doing a job. That is not the case at Burton NYC, they make everyone feel comfortable and enthused about snowboarding no matter what their experience level. You can tell they are genuinely excited about the products and sharing their recommendations or talking the latest limited edition drop. This is how you want your retail experience to be every time and I have received the same level of customer service whether in-person or over the phone. I live far from the store and have ordered over the phone from them and it has been a super easy and painless process. Do not hesitate to reach out direct if there is something you are looking for, every time my order shipped immediately out to me. I would highly recommend Burton NYC and it all starts with the manager. Pete does a fantastic job running a great shop and putting together an even better team! He has even offered to help me personally if I need it and thats not the kind of personal support you usually get. Horrible experience today the guy made me wait for almost an hr i just ask if they have specific size of the board I wanted, he went to help like 2 other people and and forget about me. I was the first person to enter the store. I waited outside for 30 mins before they open. I understand its busy but still.
As an avid snowboarder I know the name Burton comes with a level of prestige. What I was unaware of was if you throw the letters NYC in the mix it also comes with a level of customer service that is unlike any other retail experience. Pete and his crew are incredibly knowledgeable, as you would expect, but on top of that they create an experience for the consumer unlike anything I have ever seen or experienced. I went in to the city to buy some new gear after being away from the sport due to injury. As soon as Pete approached me I could feel the aura he emits, and felt as though I was with a trusted friend. He took the time to understand me as a rider and as a consumer. He easily could have sold me the most expensive stuff in the store, but instead he helped me creat a kit that would suit my needs and help me to progress. It’s an expensive sport, and the last thing you need is someone steering you toward bells and whistles that look cool, but do not help you progress. I will never buy gear else where. His entire team is top notch and cool as hell. I can’t wait to bring the wife in and get her kitted up.
Excellent service here!! I went in looking for a new snowboard after years and years of riding an old one. I was a little nervous because of my lack of knowledge with the latest technology, but Jimmy was amazing and guided me through the whole process. He and the rest of the staff were so knowledgeable, gracious, and patient. You can tell that they we’re happy to work there. In Manhattan sometime you never know what to expect when it comes to retail, but in this case Burton is at the top of its class, no joke. I walked out of there with a new snowboard and bindings knowing it was the perfect setup for me.
I am in the market for a new setup for the upcoming season so I decided to go to the Burton flagship. I could not get out this shop soon enough though. The music they play in this store is absolutely overwhelmingly bad. Who in their right mind could listen to aggressively loud techno music while shopping?
I had bought a pair of Ridge Pants a couple of years ago, they were made of cotton in India and felt so good I wore them out. They now make them of Nylon and Elastomere although youd a magnifying glass to find out. Too hot and not so nice on the skin. Returning tmrw… Ah, you cannot leave a crtical review on their site, it comes up with an error message.
Ive loved Burton gear since the very first day I stepped on a board. I havent had the opportunity to own any until now, but Ive rented Burton hardware before. I have no problem with the quality of any of their products. Still, the experience I had in store was alienating.I was looking for a whole new set up...boots, bindings, and a board. So Im not just coming in to spend a few hundred bucks, Im looking to drop a decent amount of cash on a full package. The assistant that helped me was extremely pushy, presumptuous, and acted like he could not care less that I was there. He gave me advice based on absolutely nothing. He didnt ask me questions about skill level, weight, height, or the kind of terrain I ride until AFTER recommending products. That means he presumed all of my answers, and either got really lucky he was right or didnt care enough to backtrack.Its a massive shame because I commend companies for being able to keep brick and mortar stores, and like to shop for higher-end products like that, in person. I still ended up buying Burton products, but I went through an authorized retailer instead, who actually put in some decent customer service.
I’ve been a working makeup artist for 22 years and while I’ve had a Zuca and a few other pro bags/ cases, I have never really found the perfect bag that married performance & durability with being the right size for travel. It was time to invest in the holy grail industry standard bag for makeup kits—- the Burton flight deck series. After watching several pro MUA YouTube reviews on this bag, I paid a visit to Burton’s Soho flagship location and worked with Peter (the GM) who helped me decide on the carryon size. Based on my fantastic experience I’ll def be back to get a larger bag in the series, essential when I need my full kit for bigger jobs. Just shopping online, I was struggling to decide which bag was the best fit—- I needed to see and feel the bags in person. THE WHEELS ARE MY FAVORITE PART! Such high quality. I’m obsessed! Thank you Peter and the Soho Burton team for the top shelf customer service!
Pete, Greg, and Dan were great help when I was selecting a new board. They were all extremely knowledgeable in not just snowboarding, but regarding peripherals as well. They helped me select a board that would fit my riding style + even helped put together the entire set up (bindings/boots, etc.). They also capitalized on upsell/cross sell opportunities, providing strong real world examples of usages for board traction, bags, etc. Great shopping experience, would definitely recommend everyone else to give them a shot!
When I used to live in NYC I would shop at the Burton store and sometimes just go to browse and hang out a little bit. The store employees are very helpful and knowledgeable about the equipment, Peter in particular who has decades of experience. Now that I don’t live in the city anymore, I’ll still call for gear advice and hard to find products.
Big shout out to the fellas and ladies at Burton NYC! If you need advice on your snowboard setup these are the guys to speak with (do yourself the favor and listen as they have a wealth of knowledge and then take action). Ive been in the snowboard world since the winter of 93/94 - first as a participant, then sponsored athlete, as well as a snowboarding media contributor and now a shred father passing the enjoyment of being on the snow to the next generation and these guys know as much about snowboarding as one could ask for. So ask for some of the great humans on the team - Pete, George or JP and enjoy the ride - this is where your journey should begin!
I live out of the area from NYC. I was recently trying to track down some limited production items and the NYC staff fully came through. JP and the manager were both eager to help and efficient processing the transaction via phone call. So stoked I was able to locate these items. Top notch products, fast and service friendly. #yadig
I had the privilege of making it to the flag ship store yesterday. I got to spend over an hour in the shop with the manager talking over past and upcoming product. The love and knowledge for Burton this man had, was astounding. If you truly love the sport and what Jake did for the industry, take the trip and spend some time with the team in Manhattan. I had a very bad experience at this store!On Tuesday night 02/11/2020 my husband and I bought all my snowboarding gear, all the employees were drinking and literally not helping at all.I also came back today to return some stuff and an employee named Ryan said that one of the products can not be return because someone cut the bottom part of the pants. The pants were in the condition I bought them, why would I return a product like that? Really? I am not happy at all because I spend a lot of money on Burton products at this store. Will not returning or recommending.
Went there last week cause I never heard back from Burton’s customer service about a broken boa on my boots but had the car all packed up to go to stowe for a week. Pete was beyond nice and super helpful. I went in expecting to just buy a new pair of boots but he helped me out a ton and since then has completely changed my riding experience for the better. This is now the only place I’ll go for anything involving snowboarding, etc. Pete even helped carry my stuff out to my car(that’s f***ing customer service).
THE BEST customer service. Called and dealt with Ryan. I had a very last minute request for a very sought after item this year and Ryan came through big time. He even stopped UPS guy, while I was ordering over the phone, to ensure I got my goods when I needed them. A++
I love the staff at the Burton store. They know their gear, are all avid riders and will give you their honest opinion. The two level store is beautiful and you can touch almost everything. I took off one star because Burtons equipment isnt cheap but they are consistently hosting events which apply discounts to a large portion of the store.

I am new to snowboard, I see Petes passion and dedication in snowboarding. Products of Burton are great in terms of designs/functionalities.However, the customer service of Burton is really amazing.Ive never had this level of satisfaction from a customer service before.I usually dont write review but I cant help myself for this level of service
The sales people were sorta helpful, but they hovered around a little too much, so I wasnt comfortable taking my time trying to figure out which bag I wanted since every 2 minutes, someone was coming up to me asking if I needed help. I ended up not buying anything and leaving the store. Not sure what that was about :/
The only Burton store in NYC!! Ive been to Burton store in Chicago as well. I love it how it is located in the heart of Soho. I love how the people are super chill and very nice. I love how they have special events and sometimes have meetings and free beers. I love trying out new gears. Only wish they had more sales. The most I have seen is 30% off.
Freaking awesome! Ive been out of the game for a LONG time - tried on some boots for size comparisons - Bindings I wanted were the last pair on display!! He (never even caught his name) searched the shop for the other one. Mega cool people and crazy helpful. THANKS GUYS!
The people who work here have nasty attitudes and are very unhelpful. I called beforehand to make sure they accept boots and pants for trade-in (as stated on their website that they accept Outerwear) and the person I talked to on the phone said YES. Went to the store with the intention of buying a new pair in exchange just to find out that they actually DONT accept boots as those are considered a liability. My boyfriend and I have both spent thousands of dollars for our set-ups at this store only for time and time again to receive poor customer service. Time to take our business elsewhere.
Burton has been around for a while... and their snowboarding gear shows it. Made with great quality to handy anything from East Coast ice to West Coast pow pow. Staff are great to talk to... and knowledgeable to know what suits your needs. They definitely have a nice selection for any snowboarder or any skill level.
Get ready for winter with warm accessories. They are a snowboard store and on occasion throw parties where you can meet and greet a few snowboarders.I enjoy a store when it has merchandise to match a hat and gloves which will keep me warm when I am in the cold winter eves, walking my dog in the park.Staff is knowledgeable about what they sell. They can recommend and help make the final decision on which coat looks the best.
I am a snowboarder, and I used to ride a burton set up. I did not purchase it here, but I may as well have. The promo deals and events held at this store are usually tons of fun and have some pretty sweet deals! I would recommend burton gear to a friend, or a stranger, and a flagship store is one of the best places to go for it!

2021-11-16I could spend all day in this store if time wasn’t an issue. The staff are very helpful and the store has a good customer to employee ratio so you will always get 1:1 attention and advice.Brett and Lenny were very pleasant to deal with and took the time to make sure I got the proper equipment which I am very grateful for. I did not feel pressured at any point like sales departments often do in other stores and that is a huge plus for me.After this great experience, I am a loyal Burton customer. I will definitely be back when the season starts to get a helmet and goggles.

2022-02-27Attention to the owner and manager of the store, I arrived at 10 min to 6:00pm and at the door these young men told me it was already closed? I told them the time 6:00pm and they told me it was already closed. The attention has always been very bad, I was coming to buy a snowboard equipment that I saw yesterday and they stopped making money for lazy.

2021-11-16We love Burton! We usually order everything online but one day we wanted to be properly sized for boots so decided to check the store out! We were really in for a treat! The store was awesome and pretty hard to not buy everything inside. The staff were great & helpful.We went down to get boots and linings for an upcoming trip and were greeted by George! He was awesome!!!!!! He was so knowledgeable and friendly. He gave us his honest opinions on what we were asking and gave us his thoughts on what he would think work better for our needs . He really listened and was so passionate that we spent hours in the store looking at boots binding and gear & even moved back our dinner reservations for a later time so we didnt have to rush out! He has gone above and beyond every time weve asked him for help on a purchase ! He even gave us his phone number to contact him if we ever needed anything! I did take him up on the offer a few times and let me tell you he has answered every single text , has been so professional &quick and most of all helpful .Every time we need something Burton related we make sure to go to George and recommend our family and friends to him whenever they need something too! If you are in the Burton store look for George & you wont be disappointed!

2022-01-10I came here today with the intention of purchasing a new snowboard and bindings. I knew exactly which one I wanted (including the size) and checked online to ensure it was in stock at the store. When I arrived, there were about 20-30 people lined up outside (although the store looked nearly empty?). They let 3-4 people in every 10 mins. I was told by staff that there was a 30 min wait to go to the bottom floor to see equipment. Is this a Covid capacity issue or staffing issue or both? I asked staff to confirm if they in fact had the size of the snowboard I wanted in stock before spending 30 mins in line. Both times they went back inside and never got back to me. It seemed like staff were much more concerned about keeping the front doors locked and the store empty lol (but will let their buddies cut the line…). I left empty handed. Bottom line, if you come here on a weekend looking to buy equipment, even if you know exactly what you want, make sure you have a couple of hours as you will be waiting for A WHILE!

2022-01-13Negative 5 stars. The absolute worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Showed up to the store at 515p fully ready to purchase a new $700 snowboard. Was rudely told the store closes at 6p (45 minutes after arrived) and they are no longer selling hard goods…I responded with is there anyway I can purchase a snowboard? I know exactly what I want and I leave for Austria in 2 days. The new board was for the trip. Burton employee then responded with well you should just come back later. As a long time Burton supporter I will no longer buy Burton products…ever. Super rude and super unhelpful when I was trying to purchase a expensive product. CAPITA HERE I COME!!!

2021-11-22I went to the store today to gear up for the season. Pete, Luca & Lenny did a great job helping me get the right setup and made sure they understood my objectives for the season before recommending any product. My son and I had a great time at the store, these guys are awesome!

2022-01-08The store manager is so rude! We came there from Jersey to but stuff for our vacation next week.Store close at 6 so We came at 5:26 and he refused to let us in telling us that he will not have the time to handle us until it close.We paid and spent 1 hour to get there and he Just kicked us from there.Buy your stuff from burton website or Amazon,this store need to learn how to trey costumers better.
