I 💕 Butterfield Market ,but too expensive for me .they do have wonderful fresh food . I do get now and then a sandwich or grilled veggies . But my favorite is their frozen yogurt , they have peanut butter , chocolate and my favorite plain it has wonderful taste not to tart the best , just the best , you can ask for sample
This place is not a place I recommend anyone to go too. First off, I was with my wife looking at food to eat and the deli staff were talking bad about us. I speak and understand Spanish and the things there were saying about us were rude and inappropriate especially a short guy name Javier. The managers as well, I ask for help and they were just talking in the back just laughing with other workers in the yogurt area when Im waiting for 10 minuets. The food there is also not fresh as I watch them put yesterday food to a new washed plate and they drizzle olive oil on top of it. I ask if it was fresh and the staff told me it was just made and delivered from the kitchen when i just saw them move it from 1 plate to another. Also, I spoke to one of the staff there who told me the truth about their food and he said the reuse the food maybe up till 4 days without putting out the fresh batch. Even the fresh batch gets ruined because they never put it out. Also, he explained to me that sometimes they drop the food on the floor and they just wait to the customer leaves the store and throws it on top so the next person can buy it. I think the only thing safe in this store is the drinks they buy from outside companies. Not a place to go to in the upper east side and it was better before in the years.
Their food is delicious but on the pricey side. Appreciate their layout and selection. They have a lot of pre-packaged easy to warm up or take home salads, pastas, sandwiches, fruits, vegetables sides and spreads. There is also a produce section, a desert and bakery section, you can get a cafe, meat by the pound, cheese and more. After 6pm on weekdays and after around 2pm on weekends-- some of their prepared foods will be available 50% off. They are indicated by red stickers placed on the items.
I love their frozen yogurt here. They do serve good yogurt and i love it that the line is always so very short. they have amazing pastry also and again the line is never long so you can also do a grab and go. there is a bench in the front of the store and those are always the best seat to enjoy your cone/ cup of yogurt and watch the people passes by while you relaxe and enjoy. i also love their cookies and coffee they serve here so good and just smelt in your mouth yum!
Had to look this place up again. It’s been 7 years and I still remember the flourless walnut chocolate cookie they sold and I would always buy it on my way to work. Best cookie I’ve ever had. I wonder if they still have it since I haven’t gone to this market for years.
I have used Butterfield Market for catering and everyone loves it. It is a gourmet market so it is catered gourmet eats at their finest. Some of the best lox in the city.Wonderful dessert platters that are a hit at any party. They are always will to work with you to create a yummy menu!
Ive frequented this place almost everyday with how close it is to my job and spent a lot of money here over the years. Nothing says welcome like cashiers talking rudely about you in Spanish while youre trying to check out. Soy gringa pero entiendo lo que dice. Probably should make sure that the people youre talking about dont understand exactly what youre saying.
Butterfield Market, hands down, has the greatest frozen yogurt in the city! And, believe me, I have tried almost all of them! Honestly, I have no idea how they get this healthy treat to taste so much like ice cream. They always have 4 flavors - Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Plain, and Coffee. Without fail, I always order a Peanut Butter and Chocolate twist! Every time on find myself on the UES, I make it a point to seek this place out...
Excellent prepared foods done with care and top meat, produce, and their own sauces. Vegetables washed and clean enough to plate; unrivaled selection of prepared salads without dripping wet leaves; best kale Ive seen in the City; and a lobster salad sandwich I want to eat all year.
Ummm....., nope, not $. Its more like $$. With that said. Do it~! Do not let those delicious little gorgeous cakes by the window escape your distinguished palate. If you do, then it will be a sin. Amen! As for those damn hot, hot, hot NYC summer days, just pick up a huge cup of self service fresh lemonade in the middle of the store or ice Cuofee!!! Did I mentioned those little cakes earlier.....gently glanced back towards the front window shelves while you desperately sucking through the straw to get to your lemonade. While your mouth is watering with the tangy, sourness from the lemon taste. The devilicious sweet cakes are calling you. Hello~!
ALways a pleasure. Everyone is so friendly and quick to help. Everything is fresh, delicious and beautiful Love! Love! Love! The Payard croissants, fresh baked breads, bagels, prepared foods are all top quality.Salads, fresh fruit, burritos, cakes...all terrific. Butterfields is an UES staple that never stops delivering the best and most delicious foodstuffs. Cant imagine the neighborhood without it.The gus behind the counter are the best and the check out ladies lovely. Always a pleasure to duck into for a food find at anytime....and the frozen yogurt...OMG!!!Benches out front full of happy customers enjoying their purchases. Live is good at Buttefields
I go to butterfield very often, most of the time for lunch. Most of the people who works there they very pleasant, but not the guys who works behind the counter in the food section. They just rude, unless you living on the upper east side. You can see the difference how they treating people who lives there and people who just works there. Usually its three of them there. Most of the time they see you standing there and waiting to be served, and they just ignore you because they to busy having conversation with each other. Thats what happened to me yesterday (AGAIN). And when i asked for there attention they looked at me like im some kind of alien. Specially older guy with mustaches . Other two just had a stupid smile on there faces. I turned around and left. Im sick and tired to go there and let those three stooges look down on me. Butterfield market its pretty expensive for a working class people, at least we can be treated with respect. I wont go there no more for sure.

2022-03-25Be very careful when you eat food from here you could end up in the hospital with food poisoning. I would never buy food from here ever again. I got myself a Salmon wrap from here it was okay but something was not right at some point of my bite I chew some plastic thing I don’t know what it was . But I ended up in the hospital with vomiting nauseous and diarrhea it was terrible. PLEASE be very careful because i was very bad!!

2022-04-28My friends and i were racially profiled while at this location. we were the only people of color in the store and a worker came up to us and believed we were stealing so he asked me to empty my pockets. all i had in it was my phone. he didn’t ask any other customers in the store, all of them being white, to empty their pockets. so offended by this experience.

2021-06-121st time experience not too good. Even though the salmon was good still over priced. A lot is over priced. Drinks are extremely overpriced for the quality. Also sanitation not the best when preparing drinks with cash handling hands. I’m not the type to complain but I just had to leave this review for management.
