Extremely professional,very friendly, Melissa is a color magician! I had my hair done at Hairport in port Jeff on main st. In October they totally messed it up were totally unprofessional just wanted to sell you garbage while you were there.Melissa was able to fix the disk that they did and was able to make me leave extremely happy with the results.she listens to exactly what you want and acts on it.so glad I finally found a profile place and person to do my hair.Love it Melissa. I will recommend this Salon and Melissa to everyone. Thank you so much for fixing my husbands most prized posession (my hair) He was very happy to. 😊😊😊😊
Excellent customer service from the moment I called in to schedule my appointment. I requested Melissa based on a review and I must say every word said of her was true. Melissa is a total professional and artist! I walked in with a challenge and she did not shy away. I went in to have a corrective color and balayage treatment after a failed attempt at a different salon. Melissa was upfront about what the process would be, the cost and end result based on her expertise. I was constantly asked if I was ok, if I needed anything and considering I was there for almost 3 ½ hours it felt like a short stay. I highly recommend Melissa as she knows her stuff!
I do not recommend going here, save your time and money and go somewhere else. I went in to get my hair highlighted and the color was a brassy orange color, the hair dresser tried putting a toner in twice and still didnt Tone it down. I went back the next day to see a different hair dresser and she put a few more colored pieces in along with a toner. It still was more of an orange with my entire roots now a different color then my hair. I went to a different salon to fix my hair and they couldnt believe how the color was so patchy and uneven. I called cactus up asking for a refund of what I paid and they said they would only give me a store credit. i turned down there offer because Cactus is not a salon I will ever be going back to.
I had this hair stylist Andrea put highlights in my hair the other day, and not only was it not the color I ask for in the slightest, my hair feels rough and half dead now. Not to mention she’s incredibly rude!!
No happy at alll i was have appointment went to them and they refused me they said no stylist take a Groupon which when i make the appointment the lady told me that’s Groupon is fine they put me in problem when you have appointment and you go and they said nobody available for you and wait for one hour???? Totally not professional.
Everytime I look at my hair I want to cry that is how horrible they did my hair. I have never he anyone mess up my hair this much!. I asked for highlights . The back is white and the front is orange ! Worst coloring ever. They didnt even offer to fix it free of charge. I specifically told them at my job my hair can not be crazy colors. Dont go here for color even with a groupon.

I like that place the staff is very friendly, I had my hair dyed and cut by Lauren . She’s adorable. The color was a bit lighter and she redid it with patience. I like how may hair looks now ❤️
Melanie at Commack, was wonderful, friendly, kind and extremely helpful with her ideas. I had made my appointment for a blow out and makeup application for my nieces Sweet Sixteen, which was so important for me because of how special this occasion was. I had never been to Catus before, but as soon as I can I will be making a new appointment with Melanie. I am very very excited to become a regular at Catus in Commack.
I was sat in my hairstylist chair for 45 minutes before luis my hairdresser finally came over and addressed me and started the cut. I was there for almost 4 hours. Management really nedd into get it together.
They’ll do a good job if you’re paying cash. If you’re using a Groupon don’t even bother they’ll destroy your hair and not even care. They destroyed my balayage and I cameout the salon with orange hair. Worst salon I’ve ever went to
GiGi was excellent. Great service and Beautiful hair color. She has a great personality and Very knowledgable. comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely recommend her and the salon.
Danielle Enz is an amazing hairstylist no matter what color or style I came in with shes able to do wonders with it and always has me leaving with a gorgeous style, highlights low lights
I was expecting a nice haircut for $60 but all I got was a basic lemon tree haircut from Kristy.
Went in for my first session with Alayne for Reiki healing it was a wonderful experience I felt relaxed and like a weight had been lifted afterwards definitely helped with my Stress and Anxiety and my energy was restored she explained everything in detail and made sure I was comfortable.... looking forward to going again

After another horrible experience by there hair stylist named Luis I tell everyone in long island, go to a real hair salon. This place is just a fractionchise that hires anyone.
I just a hairstylist at this location cut the top of my ear off. I was gushing blood and the hair salon had the nerve to say it was MY FAULT!!!. I cant wait to see them in court
Nick has been cutting my hair for decades: wherever he is, is bound to be good.
Had bad experience, got a toner and charge me double $ 50 because they said I had more hair, I will never go back.
The lady at the frost desk is so rude 😡 bad customer service , do not recommend this place .

2022-07-03My hair length was down to my butt. I told David I wanted the length to be at the end of my bra. He even showed me where he would cut it before my hair was washed, and I agreed. When it was time to cut my hair. he pulled my hair back and cut it at the TOP of my bra. I did not see until the very end. As someone who has had long hair her entire life, this is a traumatic experience for me. Theres nothing that can be done to fix it, and its going to take a toll on my confidence until it grows back. I had used a groupon so it was already paid for. They didnt make me redeem it, but I honestly feel like I deserve some compensation for how negatively this impacts me. David was very sweet, but ultimately ruined my hair.

2022-03-24I asked for long curtain bangs and long, subtle layers and i even told her before she started cutting that i did not want her to go any shorter than the tip of my nose and i also only asked for 2 inches cut off. She cut me bangs up to my eyebrows, cut AT LEAST 4 inches off, and made the layers so choppy. One side was also shorter than the other. If you go to get a hair cut and the person cutting is a young person with dark hair and dark makeup, ASK FOR ANOTHER PERSON. this haircut ruined my self confidence.

2021-01-12I want to say thank you to Kate for doing such an amazing job on my hair the day of my wedding in October of 2020! She did such a beautiful job for me and my family that one of my sisters planned on not getting hers done and then saw Kates outstanding work and asked her to squeeze her in also! Kate is kind, enjoyable, and soooo talented. She understood my vision and added her professional touch for the perfect hair style. Thank you for being so reliable and making my special day easy and fun! Everyone loved their hair and felt confident and beautiful because of you! And my hair held perfectly all day even in the crazy wind on top of a mountain for our ceremony!

2021-07-25The 5 stars are because of the service and attention I received from Melissa.I had gone to the salon earlier in the day for a hair color from another stylist and was not happy with the color that was done. I wanted a dark auburn and somehow ended up with a bright orange. Needless to say I was very unhappy and called back to get it corrected.When I arrived Melissa took the time to ask me questions, had me look up pictures to show her the color I wanted, and made suggestions to get the desired color. She did not rush me along and made sure I was happy with the results. Never have I had a colorist take so much time to make sure that the color was what I had originally wanted. While I had felt a bit uncomfortable and was a bit apprehensive upon returning for the appointment Melissa took the time to reassure me that she would do all that she had to to get the color I wanted.I never write reviews but felt compelled to write this as Melissa turned a negative experience into a positive one and because of the time and care she took with me I will most definitely be returning to the salon to see her.

2020-11-20Valerie was so great in coloring my hair. I also appreciate the front desk lady Heather as she was very pleasant and kind. I was the last customer in the salon but she did not rush the process and took time getting to the perfect full hair highlight I wanted. I am now a regular customer because of her.

2017-03-29Melissa did an amazing job on my hair, everyone there was very professional. I got a balayage and a cut. I explained to her the look I was going for and she did exactly what I asked for. I have very dark hair so when I go to most places I get a tint of orange. I had no orange in my hair!! very very happy with my new color and cut. I would definitely go back to her.

2018-04-05I didnt have an option of giving it no stars or I would have terrible experience !!!Melissa colored my hair she has the personality of a doorknob. I was told that possibly because she was rushing and a little behind on her time thats why she was the way that she was. Not my problem Melissa if you miss manage your time!!I did not get the name of one of the women at the front desk she was just as unpleasant .I was giving wrong information on the phone that there would be an additional charge for a glaze of $10 and then I get there and its $25 then they tell me that theyll accept my Groupon but they cant anymore because Ive been there before. Ive never been there before and MELISSA says I was there 6 months ago and she did my hair. well obviously Melissa has a face recognition problem. Shes NEVER done. My hair EVERTO me going and getting your hair done is a time to relax and pamper yourself my whole afternoon which my appointment was 2:30 and because I was 15 minutes late she proceeded to let me wait an hour.it was horrible save you money do not go there. Very aggravated and disappointed Im more pissed off that I even bother to leave her a tip she did do a service but she DID NOT deserve a tip. I am just a decent person and did the right thing. MAYBE if she didnt get one and it hurts her pocket she might change your attitude. I believe A happy customer is the best word of mouth and an unhappy customer is your nightmare.

2018-03-17Went to Taylor and it was first time I ever had a hairdresser actually listen to me and not cut too much. Blow out was great she was able to make my frizzy hair smooth and straight.Best blow out ever. Definitely going back!
