Caesars black and gray work is incredible. He is a true artist and his portfolio speaks for itself. I have 30+ hours of work form Caesar and hes the only guy I trust. Caesar never does the same tattoo twice so you know youll have a unique piece, and his art holds up over time. My first piece is 10+ years old and it still looks great. Shop is clean and Caesar is super friendly.

Caesar @ Killer Silver Tattoo Studio is a literal steal in the heart of quiet Scarsdale. Normally, globally awarded tattoo artists operate out of the big global capitals, not mid-sized towns. Caesar has been sought after at conventions in Asia, South America, and Europe and even gets flown out to cities to tattoo clients.Some tattoo artists might have a spread in a tattoo magazine but few have whole sections of seminal works done explicitly about their work (see, “Black & Grey Tattoo 1-3: from street art to fine art by Marisa Kakoulas). Principally Caesar is an artist, with substantial knowledge of art techniques which he applies to tattooing.Caesar is at the top of the industry but is surprisingly affordable and accessible (no waiting a year for a consultation BS). As echoed in other reviews – he’s a really sweet guy and is someone who clients truly bond with.As an artist, he will work with your ideas, but has the experience and technical ability to guide you in the right direction – leading to better quality finished pieces. There are a number of high quality black and grey artists in the world, but precious few have this level of ability or the decades of experience. And Caesar is unrivaled at storytelling – he is the best in the profession at weaving elements together to produce a seamless sleeve or large piece which combines multiple elements.

Fantastic not only in realism but freehand tattooing also (hard to find artists confident in this area but makes a huge difference in the flow of your sleeve/tattoo etc) I traveled 14,000kms from NZ to NYC to be tattooed by Caesar & have done now for approx 10 years. I reached out to every qualified black and grey realism tattoo artist in manhattan (~30) to find someone who could do my full tattoo sleeve. Though Caesar now operates in Scarsdale, he was the one that I went to because he showed in his responses that he genuinely cared about the quality of the work as well as my personal meaning attached to it. We had a full session where he discussed how to realize the references I brought and the ideas in my head. His commitment to his craft is outstanding. Some people may say hes rude or gruff but now I see that is him sticking to his principles and standards as an artist. You pay for his quality and expertise. Obviously if youre not upholding your end of the bargain, hes not obligated to his. Hes not satisfied with just banging out just another skull piece, he makes sure its unique to you. My man made his own premium tattoo ink and needle product line. If that doesnt show that he cares about his work I dont know what will. He is not obsessed about just getting the piece done and collecting their hourly rate as are many other tattoo artists Ive contacted. He is serious when he says he will create one-of-a-kind masterpiece. He actually listened to my wants and incorporated his own artistic experience and perspective on it, and respected to stick to my decision on some of the parts of my tattoo that he wanted to do differently. Communicate fully and honestly with him. Ive met with him 4 times so far, and there are likely 6 more sessions to go, but the work is already phenomenal, despite being a complicated work. I will certainly come back to Caesar for the rest of my tattoos. Hes criminally underrated.

Aside from the fact that he is one of the most down to earth people I’ve met, he has all of the characteristics that I was looking for when finding my first artist.Caesar is meticulous, attentive, precise, and strives to create a level of comfort, catering to each individuals requests while still inputting his own professional opinion, during the creative process of designing your own customized art piece.So if you’re looking for the best in the business with distinctive detailed design, then you will not be disappointed.

Ive been going to Caesar tattoo for almost ten years and keep going back for more. Caesar is an innovative artist and hes extremely talented; he puts so much effort into planning your tattoo and making it work for your shape and tone (which is very important for detailed black and gray tattoos!)Hes also got a great sense of humor and makes the hours fly by while youre being tattooed. Plus, hes happy to play music or movies during your session (unlike other shops where you just have to make small talk and stare at a wall the whole time!)So if youre considering any portraits, detailed designs, or anything that you dont think your average old school artist or neighborhood artist can do, then seriously consider Caesar – he is a hidden gem!! I had a half-sleeve done by Caesar a couple years ago. I had done research all over NYC, but after doing a consultation with him, and going over his approach/design, I knew he was the best artist for what I wanted. He is a black and grey photo-realism master! He’s very precise, takes his time in getting all that detail to give your tattoo that “pop”; Caesar is truly one of the pioneers of black and grey tattooing in New York City, and his work speaks for itself. The customer is a part of the whole design process, this way you both are on the same page of how it will turn out and the direction he is going. He is very professional and easy to talk to, and he is truly passionate about giving you the best tattoo that he is capable of. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a custom one-of-a-kind work of art that you will proudly wear forever. I get compliments on his work literally every time I wear a sleeveless shirt in public. Hail Caesar!!
