The breakfast burrito was so scalding hot, I’m pretty sure the eggs were cooked in a microwave. The texture of the eggs also indicated that was likely the case. It was similar to a burrito you could get in the frozen section of a grocery store for a couple bucks, filled with just eggs, cheese and beans. Not worth $9.50, IMO. This place has good coffee and pastries, so best for a quick grab and go.Edit: Even if the cafe says the eggs weren’t microwaved, the point remains that the texture tasted like they were. There are plenty of other places that can make a fresh tasting breakfast burrito filled generously with fresh ingredients for the same price.
Having been there a number of times, I am happy to recommend Cafe Beit. Good coffee, pastries and a terrific person at the window who engages you and makes going there fun. I see people stopping by to say hello. Nice quiet open courtyard in the back with socially distanced tables and quiet after the intensity of Bedford Street. I have not used it but there is an enclosed section in the back for inclement weather. In one visit I had excellent latte and a very good ham and cheese croissant ($10). On another had a good Earl Grey tea with steamed milk and quiche (a little over $10).Definitely looking forward to coming back to try more of their offerings.
Coffee’s good (enjoyed both their cold brew and a latte) but their breakfast burrito is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever tried.Edit: Hi Jon, thanks for responding. Tbh I’m not sure how to describe the issue. It tasted like everything inside of the burrito wrap came out of a lukewarm blender.
Good god, that egg on brioche is good. Fluffy, soufflé style egg- I got the version with spinach and mushroom. Brioche had some crunchy onions on top a la onion rolls. Drip coffee is strong in the best way. Ultimate hangover helper. Also, both of the people who took care of me there were very, very nice. This visit turned my morning around.
This is my 2nd home. It’s simply the best black coffee and cold brew I’ve ever had. It’s fruity and chocolatey and strong and I drink it almost daily and don’t regret it. The baristas have kept me sane during the pandemic- they’re all lovely and work hard to make this place a special small business. Please don’t go to St@rb^ck$.
Local here! We stopped by Café Beit on a morning walk to McCarren. It stood out as one of the best lattes we have had in Williamsburg.. and there is some heavy competition. I ordered a delicious matcha latte that was done perfectly. My boyfriend ordered a small hazelnut latte for himself. There’s also some light food options and plant based menu items as well!
I miss this place so much. Used to come here every weekend - the best cold brew in Brooklyn hands down. These guys know how to make coffee, and all the owners are super chill. Always good music playing, good vibes all around. They didn’t get mad when i would sit there for 4 hours reading in a corner with one coffee. WiFi is also blazing fast which is sick
Beit is the best on Bedford and likely all of Williamsburg too. They’ve seen em come and go even cafes that popped up right next door aren’t around to compare to. Barista owned and operated these guys know how to pull a strong shot. Skip the franchises and sip with a local or who’s left of em!
This place was cute and the coffee/tea and pastries were awesome. The bathrooms are impeccably clean too. The only disappointing aspect was the naked plate. When you say veggies and chips with hummus, it shouldnt just be tomatoes and cucumbers... Was expecting more of a variety.
Since moving to Williamsburg, I had been to this coffee shop a couple of times but recently I have been working here a lot more and have consistently had a great experience. The baristas are all friendly and personable, which isnt the case everywhere around here so it makes a huge difference! The coffee and food is all delicious as well.
Literally the best cafe in all of Williamsburg! Amazing coffee and the staff is very awesome! The biggest part of why I think Cafe Beit is amazing is the vibe. Its so chill and comfortable that I literally want to stay all day! If you are in need of some amazing coffee or just want a place to hang with some friends I highly recommend Cafe Beit!
Happen to be passing by and there was a free comedy show so my friend and I went in to watch. It was a funny show, A lot of of good talent. As for the restaurant it was cool, the front window opens up so its nice when its good weather. They have coffee, wine, beer and a small selection of food and pastries. The reason I am giving the place 3 stars is because the waitress was rude. I called her over to ask about the wine selection . She acted like I was bothering her, was talking to me from half way down the counter instead of coming to where I was. She was not friendly and thats not good customer service.
Both El Beit and the sister cafe, Modca, are really great cafes for getting work done, and enjoying good food. The pastries are great, and they have plenty of drink options for non-coffee drinkers and people who cant have caffeine, like me! The Lavender Earl Grey tea is phenomenal, in my opinion. I find the staff friendly, not at all obnoxious as other reviewers have mentioned. If you dont like the environment, dont hang out in Brooklyn.Best part, though, is the artwork. They rotate local artists pieces through the two cafes, and it really adds something to the atmosphere. Great cafe, great neighborhood, great cookies.
Cafe Beit (not to be confused with the former business Cafe EL Beit) is my go to cafe whenever Im in the area. The owners are great and the atmosphere is very friendly and is very much a neighborhood place. You can have your big time coffee stores, Ill take the local joint with much better coffee.
Love these guys/gals. Ive been coming here since (I think) literally day one, when I noticed that after months of vacancy El Beit had respond under a new name, now owned by the former baristas of the previously closed business. They are a much more established shop than they were however many years ago that was, but the owners still work the bar, the coffee is still good, the bakery treats are tasty and they make their own almond milk / CBD infused simple syrup. Whats not to love?
This has been my morning and weekend coffee spot for years. The coffee here is excellent. They brew French Press and its delicious. The only downside is that there arent that many tables and it gets crowded on the weekends, so its not the best place to go and work for a while.
This is the kind of late-night coffee place Brooklyn needs more of. At 10 pm you can get a latte or cortado made with care, with perfectly foamed milk. The barista was cool and helpful. The ambiance is always very chill at night, for working or studying. The fact they have beer options as well just takes the cake.
Cafe Beit is my go-to coffee shop; Im there everyday. The coffee is amazing (taste the rainbow of Spectrum), the music is always good, theres a garden in the back, and if youre into people-watching snag a barstool at the huge windows (often open when its nice out). All great things...but what makes Beit stand apart from the rest and earns it that 5th star are the good people who own the shop and work there, too. In the ever-changing landscape of corporate, branded Brooklyn, its wonderful to find that sense of family at Beit. And great coffee. :)
Chill spot, good coldbrew ☕.They have a nice backyard seating area real comfy, some indoor seating (gets a bit crowded sometimes) great vibes tho.Nice open windowfront that opens up with a barn to soak in the flow of Bedford Ave while zippin..Non dairy options available, oat + almond milk.
This place has a rustic feel to it, with a brick wall, and dingy floor. The lighting inside isnt great, but it has free wifi and outlets. Theres also an outdoor patio in the back, but they leave the door open if its not too cold, so it could get chilly inside. Theres only one bathroom.
Free attitude with every cup! My wife wanted 2 shots of espresso to go (as-in 2 shots in one cup). The My-Life-Is-Awesome-Bow-Down-To-Me guy at the counter said we dont do shots of espresso to go but offered Americano. Well, he gave her 2 Americanos to go. Last time I checked, espresso isnt that hard to pour into any container, and THIS WAS ONE DRINK ORDER, not 2. Youre not the be-all-end-all of coffee servers in the world, buddy, and if you have a gut, dont wear skinny jeans. PS the Jack Johnson hat is so 3 years ago. I am giving them 2 stars (instead of 1) for quality of bean and a free, no-hassle restroom. Would not go back to order coffee, but would go for a bathroom break.
I use el beit primarily as a work space so can only comment on how well it serves as my office.... The WIFI is good and almost never down, there are 3 sets of outlets that cover pretty much all of the tables but BEWARE the outlets are loose and macbook cords without their extensions will fall out and not stay in the wall, so bring your extension cord! The front of the house has a few two person tables that I generally leave to non-computer customers while the back of the cafe has a large worktable that can fit up to 6. It is almost always filled with 6 people with computers and actually makes for quite a nice peer-pressure fueled workspace. There is also a comfortable, and very very worn armchair which is a comfortable place to sit with a computer all day. WATCH OUT when you go to el biet in the winter-- there is a backyard garden (which I am sure is very nice in the summer) but in the winter, people go out there to smoke and almost never close the door. So, it makes for a frustrating work environment when you have to get up every 5 minutes and close the door after some hipster too lazy to close it themselves to stop the winter air from freezing the whole place. FOOD: nothing special. The coffee expensive and small. I really just buy it for the right to use their wifi and workspace.
The price of coffee is not so good, but it seems to be the best for my taste among the junk, jordan art, mud and blue bucket. It is not unique compared to other coffees, but it is soft and very mild. To list the sourness and bitter taste, Jordan Art> Blue Bartlet> = Sukk> Mud> El Beat in order ~ ~
Cozy cafeteria on Bedford Avenue. They have free wifi and it is usually full of people working, so when it is cold it is not always easy to get a table. But, in summer, it is a great place to have a drink because it has a very spacious and quiet back terrace. In the heart of Williamsburg but with a slow pace.

2022-05-03My ratings is lower because I had much higher expectations. The coffee was pretty good. The food , not so. The service was good, although if you want to sit in, you still have to order from the street. Might be due to covid related changes, but common, nobody is keeping this now.The backyard is nice but the competition around seems to me like having much better Choi

2022-05-21Great coffee, but dine-in experience could be better - you have to order from the street window and there is no table service. Cool backyard though!

2022-06-21Lovely people, but food is premade and kept warm in a…. thingy. really dry. everything is served in disposable packaging even if you’re staying. sandwiches wrapped in foil, drinks in paper cups. no plates or silverware. just gets handed to you as you walk through. actually kind of reminded me of a cantina on an army base! could also be much nicer inside but feels like little care has been made. I like a raggedy backyard, but it’s just really dirty. very much what you would expect from a shop off bedford unfortunately.

2022-07-22Very mushy breakfast burrito that was too hot and fell apart. beans in the burrito made the tortilla soggy. would not go there again

2021-09-02The breakfast burrito was incredible! Great flavors, nice fluffy eggs, and a soft tortilla. My cappuccino was a little too foamy (which could just be my personal preference) but the espresso they used for it is great. Perfect time of year to enjoy the back patio.

2019-11-05Our favourite breakfast cafe when weve stayed in a hotel nearby for a vacation. Tasty bagels, sandwiches, great coffee selection. I definitely recommend the breakfast burrito. They have a garden in the back which I liked very much, its quiet and relaxed.
