The coffee was delicious, and the staff was very hospitable and courteous. The breakfast sandwich with bacon was also very good, if a little under-salted its probably better for me anyways. In addition to free WiFi, there are unisex private bathrooms available- which require keys, but those are free to grab above the dirty-dishes bin, towards the back of the bar.
Great spot for a cup of coffee (free refill) on whats left of Elmwood. Aside from the foul mouthed patron screaming vulgarities into her phone, neglecting her dog--who eventually flipped her table leaving broken ceramic and glass on the sidewalk, its a wonderful spot for a cheap, great cup of coffee. Best when not packed. A wide array of food including homemade Oreos! Cool spot. Adjoined with Talking Leaves bookstore.
Great bagels, great coffee and overall a great environment. One young staff member working July 4th in the morning was incredibly rude and did not give us our full order (wouldn’t even look up what we paid for). She was also very rude to the elderly man ordering in front of us. The other baristas were very nice but this young woman was just so horribly rude to everyone.
Such a great little gem to find! Plenty of vegan options which is such a nice thing to see these days. I just went in for a coffee and was thrilled when they had oat milk. Then as I was waiting for my latte I saw some cookies and thought how great a chocolate chip cookie sounded right now. Well then I realized they did in fact have some vegan chocolate chip cookies and a vegan turtle brownie! We got one of each and they were very tasty and the perfect compliment to the latte. I can see this cafe being a wonderful to chat with friends or study, or to run into and grab something quick while wandering around to all the little shops along the area, in a world past a pandemic. I hope to visit again in the future and experience it in all its glory!
This is a dinner review. It was ok. You get 3 sticks of butter on your pasta so all you taste is butter. In Italy they cook with only olive oil it’s healthier that way. Also the donut dessert had a pound of baking soda all you tasted was baking soda. The people are great. Really nice service. Dinner food not so much.
This place is a secret jewel of Buffalo cafes that has consistent and quality coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I would recommend you visit there whenever you are in the Elmwood Village. The staff are friendly and truly embody true customer service and friendliness. I will definitely be returning here for the coffee!
Friendly staff with great coffee and a sparse but varied selection of beer and wine. Both the cafe and its patio are a bit on the small side, so its not very conducive to stretching out or having a boisterous conversation. If youre looking for a relaxed drink, this spot is great.

This was a comfortable and cute coffee shop. I got a chai latte which was really refreshing and good. I also had a blueberry muffin and a peanut butter cookie both of which were delicious. My latte was made and ready very quickly and the cashier was nice. I loved the outdoor seating, plenty of shade and comfortable chairs. Good shade and just a nice relaxed vibe. I will be coming here again.
I am a downright coffee snob, coffee FIEND.. this is /the/ best coffee shop I have ever been to. I live right down the street and I visit pretty often. The staff is great, drinks are amazing, perfect foam, wonderfully pulled espresso... It gets pretty packed on weekends especially with the farmers market but they still get the drinks out in good time. The atmosphere is always great and its my favorite place to go.
Great place! Great drinks! Love the atmosphere, but..... There is a space problem. The dining area is a bit cramped. That is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Definitely a five star establishment in all other areas though. Those with disabilities would probably not enjoy this place because of the space issue. If you are bound to a wheelchair, you will not for in the dining area...too many chairs and tables. If you are ambulatory, you will be okay. If sounds and noise bother you, you will not enjoy this place because everyone is kind of on top of each other and you can easily hear their conversations. Those conditions are what they are, they are their facilities, but this place is great! I would highly recommend it to everyone.Watch out Starbucks! 😉
Great friendly atmosphere very cozy, it may be cramped during busy hours, but I doubt it will change the atmosphere. The barista are very friendly. The prices are excellent a 12 ounce coffee to go is a little under $2. And the coffee is delicious only been here ounce (got the double espresso ($2.06) it is brewed strong but is delicious. I look forward to coming here again.
Cafe Aroma is my go to place at any time of day or evening. I always stop here on Saturday after the Farmers Market for coffee and a savory scone. Their wraps are yummy. But my favorite time to stop is on a lovely summer evening. I enjoy a glass of wine on the patio where I often meet neighborhood friends. Great little spot!
The full-scale employee makeover is off-putting. Nobody seems to know what they’re doing and they’re not friendly, familiar faces and frankly aren’t personable. The whole reason I frequented this place was because I knew people and they knew me. Now, they can’t get my order right, there are less and less regular faces (customers and employees) and the music is even vanilla. I basically order the same 3 things and I haven’t seen the same 3 face behind the bar in a month so I may just start frequent Perks since I can walk there from my house. There is no logical reason for me to drive to Aroma anymore.
Really good menu options in a cozy little cafe. Their iced chai latte is one of the best Ive tried and Ive tried A LOT.. pairs really well with the almond scone. But what probably will have me going back is their outstanding customer interaction skills, we had a ton of questions because of food sensitivities and requirements and the lady that helped us worked through all of our needs, even calling their bakery when she didnt know something.
A quaint little coffee shop on the corner of bidwell parkway and elmwood. On a beautiful summer day, it’s nice to sit out in their patio with friends and just catch up. Sometimes the inside can get quite crowded and loud, especially in the winter. But overall, if you looking for a little coffee shop around the corner, this is one of those places
Best breakfast sandwich is Buffalo.Coffee drinks are also well made.Sometimes it takes longer than it should to get your food/drink but it is worth the wait. The place fills up fast on the weekend so dont expect a seat, especially not when the Elmwood-Bidwell farmers market is going on.
What better way to spend a rainy afternoon or sunny one, or evening for that matter than sipping a hot brewed coffee under a canopy on an Olmsted Parkway!!! Few cities were fortunate to get an Olmsted designed park or entire parkway designed city like Buffalo, let alone to have a curbside cafe on it as well... This is not Starbucks so leave the electronics and even the book at home or in your pocket. Instead I suggest you take in the ambiance of the parkway, and the people watching of the eclectic Elmwood Village Avenue, be pleasant, smile and nod to strangers, you may make a new acquaintance.
Open until midnight I expected this place to be fully meh like some other businesses can be, given at the late hour not much competition exists if youre not a bar. Baristas are very approachable and the drinks are great, the walnut brownies are crazy good. Love the available open window seating complimenting the outdoor furniture. Perfect spot to stop during a light night bike ride.
Adorable coffee joint thats super convenient in service and in location. I love this place and the staff has always been super helpful with my indecisive nature. Always clean and friendly. Its a great place to take a seat and have some coffee and enjoy the best of Buffalo walking by.
This local coffee shop is a quaint visit for any time of the year. They have a wide variety of drink and food options for any time of night with hours extending long past many cafes. However, due to their venue seating is a little packed especially during the winter months and due to their popularity, lines can be very long at select times. Your drink may also taste different based on each baristas crafting due to free poor flavoring, regardless all drinks and food are fantastic and a great local alternative to chain coffee shops like starbucks. Caffe Aroma is by far a shining beacon in local shops in buffalo and definitely a must to visit regardless of how long youve been in the area
Book. Coffee. Bookstore. Coffee shop. Librarian. Barista. Poetry night. Culture. Romance. First dates. Business deals. Meet with a friend. But the aroma of coffee is in the air. Why not name a place after this aroma. Why not call it Cafe Aroma.I want to go to Cafe Aroma. I want to get their coffee and pour it in a tub. I want to strip off all my clothes and have everyone in the place line up and dump their coffees and teas on me while I splash around in the sugary, creamy and bitter liquid while shouting I wanna go to Cafe Wroooma. Hopefully they let the stuff cool down before they douse me with it. Then I want to have some rude barista with tattoos and dark rim glasses at the counter tell me this is inappropriate take this shenanigan somewhere else! But no one listens. They keep ordering more drinks and splashing them on me.Can my fantasy of being in nude having people throw expensive beverages at me become a reality? Doubtfully. So I sit at Cafe Aroma. Trying not to let my mind wander while conversations drone on around me. I sit here waiting for my green tea that is too hot to drink to cool off, so I can gulp it down quick and get the heck out of here. I gotta find a better scene. A place that will allow me to live out my fantasy.
Great vibe, reasonable prices, and lots of seating indoors and outside. The food options include stromboli, pizza, and wraps premade but fresh and creative. They also have beer and cocktails in addition to coffee drinks. A nice place to stop for a bite, meet a friend, or hangout and work. I will be back if I am in the area again.
Great drink and food selection and nice atmosphere to spend some time visiting with friends or kill some time on your own. Service is a bit spotty sometimes fast and other times terribly slow, but great locally owned business in a great location. Worth a visit if you have never visited.
The barista had no idea what she was doing, ignored me for a few minutes while she was talking to her friend the whole time we were there. Cash register guy had to make the drinks for her even after repeatedly telling her what she was supposed to do and where to find all the ingredients, and she forgot our beer
There was this other location on Main Street in Williamsville it was one of my favorite spots it may or may not still be open for business I dont live in that area anymore but I find the downtown location is too busy they dont have enough Baristas to make your coffee in a efficient time plus theyre very nit-picky its hard to explain all they do is talk and then the counter it would be a lot quicker if they would just stop complete peoples orders and then they can talk all they want their coffee is great but theres Services none existence, I dont think thats the word Im looking for but whatever improved customer service is needed I think its time to get rid of the manager anybody that thinks this is a five-star place is crazy I can go right next door to a Starbucks and nine out of 10 times I get prompt service but let me say again their coffee is great just like Starbucks but customer service is not.

2022-06-17A nice, and cozy cafe. I stopped by for coffee and quick food. The barista was nice, and the coffee was good. We ordered panini sandwiches - they were pre made, and he warmed them up for us. It was decent. Altogether to my experience it was decent, nothing over the top or fancy.

2022-06-15A staple of Elmwood Ave, right on the corner of Bidwell. Always busy, drinks are good, people don’t usually go for the food… could be better. Good luck finding a place to sit after 10am.

2022-05-10Sloppy. The cafe looks like they dont care anymore. Needs new paint, new paint color, get rid of dry-erase boards, no light in food display cooler case. Gave me the wrong muffin. Didnt have poppy seed muffin, even though it was listed on the dry-erase board. Clerk said the poppy seed muffin in the display cooler was for display only. Clerk didnt ask if my order was for here or to go, I had to manually tell them.

2021-05-25Im partial to Cafe Aroma after working there 20 years ago but its still my favorite Cafe in Buffalo. Where else can you grab a coffee from the friendly staff with the most delicious espresso and lay in the middle of Bidwell Parkway even in the pandemic? Its the best for quick eats too. The pastries are the best.

2022-07-03First time here, I was actually meeting someone; but from the atmosphere very quaint, peaceful, yet perky place to catch a chat, or a bite to eat which I haven’t tried yet!

2022-04-04Much worse than I remember it being, chai latte tasted like watery milk and latte tasted the same. I cant believe that it was $10 for two drinks that we threw out after a couple of sips, waste of money.

2021-10-17We went here because of the good reviews, but this was a really negative experience. the latte I got had watery espresso and the chai latte tasted like water with some dirt in it. “everything” bagel was just a plain bagel with a couple of seeds on it, and there was no seasoning on the eggs. everyone dining in had to-go cups and paper bags instead of ceramic dining ware. based on this experience I would just go to the many other cafes nearby instead

2021-12-06Good coffee beverage options. Among the top, Id say. Pastries are another thing... Little on the dry side, to my taste. Nice atmosphere.
