Used this company twice. Good company to work with. Gave me ideas with the measurements and now i have my dream closet. I get compliments on my closet all the time.
I worked with Melissa Hatch. It was a wonderful experience and the closet is beautiful. She is talented, professional and easy to work with.
Showroom doesnt have a lot of assembled displays but has plenty of materials on hand to give you ideas and spur your imagination. Friendly staff. Our designer, Lori, listened to our needs and produced a thoughtful design based on our wishes. The installer used lacquer thinner to clean up, which produced noxious fumes. Also left our exterior door opened, risking our cats getting out. This was the only negative out of our entire experience.
We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of our installation! My husband and I are so impressed with the quality of the product as well as the responsive and helpful approach we have encountered with our salesperson, the office staff and the installers. This has really been a great experience! Following the installation, we spent the whole weekend playing in our new closets. I never doubted that our salesperson, Lori, knew exactly what she was doing when she came to show us the product and measure for installation, but full disclosure, I think we both wondered if all of our items would actually fit. The functionality is amazing! All of the items we planned for fit perfectly, and they are arranged in a manner that is so easy to access. The design just makes so much sense! Thanks again for a truly excellent experience and product.
My experience with California Closets was excellent from start to finish. The designer really helped me get the most out of my closet space. The installer was on time, even called before arriving and was done with the installation earlier than expected. I highly recommend them :-).
A California Closets project is definitely worth doing. They converted my inefficient and unsightly wire shelving in the master closet, laundry, guest closet and kitchen pantry into super-useful, attractive storage solutions. The finished units are so superior to what was here before and my home value is greatly enhanced. Everyone - the design consultant, individuals at the store and every installation rep - was pleasant, responsive and so helpful. And we had a lot of fun! I get plenty of positive responses from guests and with good reason. Definitely one of my best investments!
We had a great experience. Kendall was spot on with the design, she understood the specific needs we had and designed a closet that we wanted.The installation had some challenges but Kendall took care of it. I love my Cali closet and love using it every day.

Last year we made one of the best decisions that we have made in 35 years as homeowners. We called California Closets!We have a small room in our home that has always been my sewing room. We had done some basic decorating over the years, but it was dated and inefficient. With my sewing and quilting hobby, the old closet was stacked to the brim. We decided to look into options that would work better. Every solution we were offered meant losing valued storage space.And then I saw an ad for California Closets. We went on their website, set up an appointment, met with designer Lori Hoffmann, and the rest as they say is history. We never looked back!Now I can say that my only disappointment is that we didn’t make this home improvement sooner. Lori and the California Closets crew were skilled and professional. The storage in my sewing room is delightful!
We had cabinetry built into our laundry room. This is the second project we contracted with California Closets and have to say we are just as happy with the end product this time as we were for the first. Our laundry room is now complete with beautiful streamlined cabinets.The design process was a shape with Lori Hoffman’s expertise and Chris made the installation look easy! No mess to pick up after! Love working with California Closets!
From start to finish, my experience with California Closets in Latham was exceptional. My designer, Lori, was great to work with and her design really maximized the space in my master bedroom closet! The install went off without a hitch and I couldnt be happier with the end result. I will say that they are not inexpensive but in my experience, you get what you pay for and I think it was worth every penny. I highly recommend!
The pros: design was great, installers and installations were also exceptional, the product itself is excellent.The cons: Once the design was done, the designer never answered emails or texts. Seems she was only interested in selling not servicing. While I would recommend your business I would not recommend this designer.
The designer worked with us to design a Murphy bed that fit into the space we had available.Installation was completed in time and professionally.
Overall great experience. Kendall helped us design a laundry room and that went so well that we invited her back to design a home office. Excellent experience and we deeply appreciate our new space.

Sliding doors are beautiful and elegant.Special thanks to Michel, a design consultant, who helped us with the purchase and design . I have been using California Closets Latham for several years. They are consistent, professional, timely and produce an excellent product. Every aspect of the process from design to installation is efficient and top notch. The process is stream lined and caters to the customer. I wish I could use this company for every home renovation project!!! I highly recommend and will continue to use them for every just about every room in my house. I cannot say enough about how great they are!!
The Latham California Closets did an amazing job of designing and installing an update to our master bedroom closet last winter. It’s so much more functional and feels like more space because it’s all “usable” space now. When I decided I needed a few more shelves recently, all I had to do was call and they pulled up our design with all the measurements. It was super easy! Really appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail!
We have had an amazing experience with California Closets of Albany.We started with a couple closets and ended up doing more, including an additional bedroom closet, a linen closet, a wardrobe and a home office. Michelle is incredible to work with when planning and designing for your needs. She is creative, has great ideas and is so much fun! I highly recommend working with California Closets on your next project. We recently had them design and install a master closet and it turned out beautiful. The process was so easy and enjoyable. Lori came to our home and helped us select a design and materials then we visited the showroom to confirm our selections and we were very impressed with how beautiful it was. The install went so quickly, they were in and out in a few hours and my closet was 100% ready for me to start filling. Joy, the owner was also very helpful, we had a long phone conversation and she explained the entire process to me before we met, which was great.Again, cant say enough positive things about them!
Consultants at California Closet were super helpful and so intuitive to what would work best in the space ! Top quality drawer function and hardware updated my sturdy 20 yr old system . Reconfiguration based on my new needs provided ample space with a clean modern/traditional look! So happy I called them! Love everything !

We were looking to design a master closet and was so happy we called California Closet. As with most people, the cost was a major factor while not compromising on quality. California Closet delivered on both. Price was so reasonable, we wish we had called sooner. Quality and the process was excellent. We have referred our family and friends.
California Closets helped turn a once unusable room in our basement into a guest/craft room. The designer was knowledgeable and had great suggestions for design and to stay within budget. The installers were timely, professional and also very nice!
We decided to tear down the wall between our existing walk-in closet and nursery and expanded into one dream walk in closet and used California Closets in Latham to do the job! I cannot tell you how happy I am with the results! They actually come to your house and look at what you have before they design. Count your shoes look at your clothing ask you questions and then design the closet based on your needs that you may not even know you have! They worked with my contractor in with me and made it so easy. The best part was the entire closet was built in one day! The price was actually a lot less than I expected it to be! I couldn’t be happier and I can honestly say this is my favorite room in our home!
California closets installed a closet in our sons room. They helped us design exactly what we wanted. From the design process to the installation, they were professional and responsive and we were so happy with how it turned out. We will be using them again soon for other projects.
I’ve used California Cosets twice. And that is because, the sales lady was a pleasure to work with, they have a great selection and the work gets done rather quickly.They are expensive for the materials being used. They do have financing available, which worked out great. I had a wardrobe room done and it’s absolutely beautiful ( I paid almost $30,000) but it’s only been a couple of years and it shows where the caulk has cracked and the wood has now separated. The cutting was not done to the quality I would expect for the price. They also had to seam spots in the molding, because for all the money you pay, the molding only comes in like 10ft pieces. The length I needed was Like 12 1/2 ft and the seam where they had to put them together is horrible and is just not worth what you pay. I have doors that were not put on straight, little details, but like I said, your paying a premium price.Overall I’m pleased. It’s done.I also had my laundry room done. Had a counter top and some cabinets put in. Not big at all. ($8000) I thought the counter was butcher block, for $2300. I was disappointed it was a stained piece of wood. Same as above the details should match the price.Love the convenience and selection.Over priced.
Can’t say enough about the job California Closets did on my master BR closet. The whole process was flawless from the initial consult with a Michelle to the installation. Installers Chris and Scott did a fantastic job and were as accommodating as I could have hoped for. The project may cost more than other companies but the quality and craftsmanship along with their warranty make it worth every penny. I highly recommend CC.

They did a great job designing our closet layout. We were able to just about double the hanging space . The installation was done timely and with no mess. The installer was professional and worked efficiently.
CA Closest of Albany was great. I reached out to them for 2 different projects: 1. adding more shelving to a closet (including a shoe rack) and, 2. adding a custom cabinet to the small space under the stairwell but openly exposed in the entry foyer. Their communication and response time as fast and easy to understand. Their quote ended up being the final price and the work was outstanding and finished on time. Highly recommend.
We could not be happier with our experience from start to finish! As soon as I requested a consultation online- Amy Walker called me that very same day! She was able to come see us 1.5 hours for a consultation the next week. She stayed with us for over 2 hours until we were satisfied with our layout and material choices! We were scheduled within a few days for our installation. We received a call one week before for confirmation and any important information we wanted the installer to know! They were in and out quickly and left the work area clean! They even came back the next week to tweak some things free of charge! Most importantly I don’t think we would have had such an amazing experience without the help of Amy Walker who was available 247 throughout the entire process! She is a gem! The entire process was seamless and incredible and I would not only recommend California Closets to a friend but would use them myself again!

I have enjoyed the experience with California Closets - Albany for 15 years or more both professionally and personally. I want to specifically shout my appreciate to Kendal, Sean and his manufacturing team along with the installation team. Kendal, our sales person/project representative, has always displayed an endless amount of patients and commitment to getting the design right, even when we push her to the edges of her comfort level. She displays her commitment through being willing to reiterate the design and repeatedly check dimensions making sure everything is right and as expected. Sean and his manufacturing team, as busy as he/they are they make the product live up to its ability Sean with his exceptional knowledge for the product and willingness to make things happen and make them right. Installers, the elfs often not seen but teh ones that take the bundles of parts putting them in place and functioning as promised. They do a clean, neat and professional job.I expect to continue to us California Closets - Albany for many more years.
Perfection! I am very pleased with the entire process, the new closet is awesome, it gave me more room. I really like the adjustable shelves and the 3 levels for hanging clothes. Everyone was professional and easy to work with. Joy and Alicia did an outstanding job explaining the process, measuring and scheduling the job. California Closets designer refurbished my old closet, maximizing the use of space and tailoring it to my clothing needs. I was very happy with their service and the wonderful results. My closet is much more usable now.
The experience with California Closets was great from the first phone call to the install. I appreciated that they are locally owned and can work in old houses, and especially grateful they could hang their systems in masonry. The designer knew just what to do with our space and even suggested a place to donate the items we no longer needed. The closet itself is beautiful - and can store so many things that we havent filled it yet.

Getting my California Closet was the BEST thing I ever did! I left the designing in Melissas hands cause I knew with her experience shed know what to do. Mike did a GREAT job installing! This was our third experience with California Closets. Each job was very different but each was done perfectly. From design to installation the process was very professionally done. With our most recent project there was a slight problem following the installation. We contacted the company about our concern someone from the company arrived to look things over the next day and within a week the problem was corrected. We love my new laundry room cabinetry. We converted a small extra bedroom into a “dressing room“. Lori helped us right from the beginning, by designing the most efficient use of our tiny room. Prior to having California Closets come in, the room was so cluttered we couldn’t find anything and had to put our out-of-season clothes in storage. Now we have every single piece of clothing in the same room and somehow it’s much, much less cluttered. I can see every piece of clothing that I own; nothing gets crammed into corners and forgotten about. It’s the smartest renovation we’ve made to our house since we moved in.
We had 3 existing closets Re~designed and installed by CC. We also had a custom office desk done. We are extremely happy with the quality, aesthetics, and functionality of all of them!Our designer was very professional as well!!

I have been very pleased with the two closets I had installed several years ago. I was able to combine the clothes in two closets into one and can now locate everything easily and quickly. The consultant was extremely helpful and made useful suggestions. The installers arrived at the agreed upon time and left the structure clean and accessible. I would recommend and have recommended California Closets to anyone without reservation.
California Closets have refurbished most of the closets in my house. I did not do an expensive refurbishing, but they still treated my project as if it was important. Each project was completed well and on time.

Several months ago, CC took an empty pantry space where I had a bakers rack and turned it into a legitimate pantry where I could organize dry goods. Planning took place virtually and the installer followed Covid protocols. The pantry looks great and we were happy with the work. It was well worth the financial cost.
California Closets added shelving into my home office that is adjustable. Additionally, they added two shevlves on my wall for pictures and awards. The whole process from initial review/quote to installation was very professional and done as quoted. I wish I would have used CC back when our home was built.
Gentlemen,We have a summer home In Woodstock, Vt and priced around before we made the decision to use the services of California Closets in Latham, New York, which is approximately 140 miles away. Their price was extremely fair and they were most accommodating when a sliding door they installed stuck. They gladly and quickly drove up, spending 2 hours, without an additional charge, to make this adjustment in the door. Beautifully designed to make maximum use of my space, my néw walk in closet is a joy to use. Thank you California Closet of Latham.
Vinny was fast, effective, and courteous during the installation progress. Its definitely worth it to pay a little extra and go for this brand rather than use the competitors who may offer a lower price but do not provide the same quality, efficiency, and long term guarantee. I cant wait to work with California Closets on my next storage project in the very near future!
We’ve used Cal Closets several times for our home and business. They even did a full-scale kitchen for us at our office building. It’s amazing! Everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We’ll be using them again & again!
I really enjoyed the experience with California Closets. Melissa, our consultant, was excellent and really understood my vision and needs. I had a limited space to work with and they really maximized my space AND anticipated things I wouldnt have thought of-like leaving enough space for a barn door closet.

This was the third time we have used California closets for a project. Designing with Michelle is always fun and installation, etc. is smooth, timely and as expected.
The design process was simple and the install was quick, efficient and the space was cleaned up with no evidence of the process. Some say the product is pricey but if you think about the time it takes to measure and choose the components at a big box store, try the install yourself and then find out there was an error in your efforts, the ease of the California Closet process is above and beyond the time, effort and frustration of doing it yourself. I highly recommend California Closets.
I’ve used California Closets twice and both times were pure perfection. I used them a number of years ago to create a pantry in our former house and most recently another pantry in our new house.The clever and efficient options personalized the pantries exactly to my needs.

Over the past 10 years or so, weve had California Closets install quite a few things; everything from bookcases to a credenza to a TV cabinet. Their service is exceptional and the installers are professional and efficient.
Customer service exceeded our expectations. First installer completed 80% of job but could not figure out a portion that was out of level. Calif closets sent out another installer who attempted to complete job but left sections unprofessional. Calif closets then sent out a 3rd installer who did his magic on the challenging section perfect. I love my closets! Every drawer lines up, every piece is extremely secure, very clean looking and no problems. Its been over two years now and they look just as good as the first day I got them. Great experience from the first phone call I made to inquire to installation. Love my small walk in closet, it was transformed into a beautiful organized closet with tons of room. Even the most basic design is not cheap but it was well worth the price.
Basically good; however, had a few problems, over time, materials chip, go out of alignment, and are flimsy, so dont use in main household areas. Had many issues with marble top for bar area, took many months to resolve. With better materials, more choices, and better subcontractors, CC could dominate the industry.

2021-10-18We worked with Michelle M to design our main bedroom closet. The design process was easy and she was able to make real-time design changes while we met. We received quotes from three closet companies and we thought California Closets would be the highest quote… they were actually comparable to the others (even lower than one) with the special they were running at the time we ordered. Michelle was also spot on with the date of installation (about 11 weeks from time we signed the contract). The installation crew was efficient and friendly. We are very happy with our closet and highly recommend. The photos I’m adding are before we loaded it up and added a full length mirror and lighted mirror over the vanity. Now that we have been using for a couple of months, we can say the design is perfect for our needs.

2021-07-10From the first call to the final installation these folks were professional and responsive. We worked with Michelle to design our three spaces. She first came out to measure and we then met at the design studio. She listened to how we wanted to use each of the spaces and showed us different options and materials. It’s been three months now that we’ve been enjoying our new spaces and we love the way they look and the functionality of each of the spaces. I highly recommend California Closets of Albany!

2021-08-04Closet space can be trickey, especially when you have unusual space. Lori has a great eye for design. She was able to fit everything we needed in the space we had without feeling crowded. The instalation was wonderful. The instalers were well organized and did a great job. Everything was cleaned up after they were done. I would highly recommed California Closets. We will definetly call on them again for our next project.

2021-01-14We needed to redo our closet by making two closets into one as well as maximize the space. Our designer helped us create a closet with his and hers sides with double hanging bars. Its still a small space, but we can hang about twice as many clothes as before. We love it!
