Cambria Hotel New York - Chelsea in New York
Great value for money. The hotel was clean and conveniently located + the staff was friendly. I stayed at Moxy Chelsea last time and the rooms were tiny, this hotel has decent room sizes by NYC standards and at a fair price. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because my A/C was pretty noisy (might need some maintenance) and the mattress wasn’t the comfiest but otherwise it’s a solid hotel. Definitely recommend.
We absolutely Loved this hotel! The location was excellent, in the beautiful flower district, away from the crazy of Times Square. Also, very close to subway stations and central to walking north uptown or south to the downtown area. The staff was incredibly friendly every time we passed their desk and helpful with any advice we needed. I researched many NY hotels before booking Cambria Hotel and honesty would not stay anywhere else when visiting New York again!
I love this hotel chain. Theyre really well priced and maintain their hotels really well. This one in particular was great. David and Alexandria took really good care of us and they were extremely friendly. The rooms are pretty small, but its expected in New York. It was about half a block from the subway entrance that took us pretty much everywhere we needed to go. It was fantastic. I definitely recommend!
Absolutely wonderful hotel. Clean. Convenient location. Surrounded by flower wholesalers & shops. The scent of flowers wafted out into the sidewalks. For February, that was a welcoming environment. At night, I felt safe waking from the subway w/my daughter at 9pm. Lots of activity & foot traffic around us. Subway station just half block away; PATH station about 5 blocks away. Subway gets you uptown to Rockefeller Center, Broadway & Central Park area easily, or downtown to the financial district on a straight line. Plenty of good food options close by. Excellent staff focused on customer service!! Several spots to sit outside including a roof top patio. Nice little lobby convenience shop that had just about a little of everything. Kept our luggage after check out so we could go have lunch & a couple quick shopping stops. Cant say enough about this hotel!! Only negative: lack of coffee options in the hotel. Water is softened, so in room coffee maker makes poor tasting coffee, no coffee in the lobby, so for my AM coffee I had to run up the street to a cafe. For me, the cleanliness & customer service alone rate this hotel a 5 star review!!
I was delighted with my stay at the Cambria Hotel in Chelsea/NYC. From front desk to housekeepers, the staff went out of their way to be kind and nice. The location is GREAT. The hotel is on a street lined with flower shops, so its like walking through a garden to get there. All the other hotels Ive stayed in in NYC were loud. I didnt hear any street noise in this hotel. That meant finally a good nights sleep in NYC.I didnt use the Fitness Room, but my sister did, and she said it was exceptional.
Cute and modern hotel thats perfect for dropping through New York. Its conveniently located near the subway, as well as plenty of shops, restaurants, nightlife, etc. The hotel staff was kind and the grounds were tidy and well-maintained. The rooms were somewhat small, but worked well for my group of 3. I would come back her given the affordability, convenience, cleanliness, and location.
I had two rooms for 3 nights for a girls week-end in New York. The staff was wonderful. The location is right in the flower district. The view outside our window overlooked all the flower stalls. We had drinks on the roof bar, which was so pleasant. The room sizes are amazing. Overall, I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The location is excellent. Super convenient! The staff was very helpful and excellent with handling luggage drop off before check-in as well as allowing for extra time after check out! It was so nice to be able to see our last sites the morning we left and still come back to room before heading to the airport!
Cambria Hotel Chelsea New York - December 4-8, 2021I find it remarkable that the “upscale” brand within the Choice Hotels Int. system provides this level of service to its guests. Some components actually reminded me of our stay at a Comfort Inn motel in New Mexico on our way to Denver. The entire stay was charged to my credit card before we had arrived in New York. It even included a $100 security deposit. The first day I had to request additional (motel style) plastic cups and towels – there were not enough of either. The room amenities include a 1970’s coffee maker with “Royal Cup” coffee which is not just bad – it’s undrinkable. The hotel’s bistro and lounge were closed (the lounge downstairs open on select days only), housekeeping service only after the first three nights (and on request only), no morning coffee or a newspaper in the lobby or lounge. That basically renders this property into a (very) limited service hotel.Starting in the morning we had to go out to find coffee, breakfast, etc. – the little convenience shop in the lobby does not even sell wine at night. The floor planks in the room squeaked, the HVAC unit was incredibly noisy, the bathroom shower has dispensers for shampoo, etc. On day 2 we were out of body wash already. The room (1305) lacks maintenance, the floor was not clean and the tiny little trash can is obviously inadequate for two guests staying for four (4) nights. I know, we could have called for service and for a number of things, but are we not supposed to receive those services if you pay (New York) hotel rates, as opposed to interstate motel rates?Restaurants and stores we visited during our stay in New York were ALL fully staffed and providing good and prompt service. Why not this hotel?Best part of our stay was our check-in with David, who went out of his way to accommodate us and even helped loading our luggage on a cart.
Excellent location.... walking distance to Penn Station, very close to the 1 subway line, and walkable to Times Square. Rooms and bathrooms are small but clean and tidy. Elevators are speedy and rooftop patio has a lovely view of the Empire State building and WTC at night. Would recommend and would definitely stay here again.
We LOVE this hotel and its location! Its clean, the front desk is helpful and friendly, they always answer the phone when you call, and the bartender is fun and friendly as well! We stayed here in December and have another reservation made for May! Its our top choice in Manhattan for price, cleanliness, and location!
We stayed there for two nights in November. honestly, maybe our expectations were not too high but we liked it a lot. the hotel itself is nothing special but it is very decent. rooftop was closed. staff at the reception desk were super nice (i remember Jose and Brian, but dont remember the name of the lady the night before), cool smart and friendly. what we enjoyed most was the fact that the hotel is on a street where most shops are flower shops. this creates animation, smells good and is just fun to have around
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating (allowed early check in and late check out, stored my luggage while I toured the city). They were personable and cheerful which is rare to find in many NYC hotels. Room was clean, well decorated, and secure. Staff informed me of roof top area and other amenities. Overall, a great experience in the heart of the flower district, near shopping and attractions. I will make this my go to hotel next time Im in the city. Fabulous value for the money!
We found this hotel from Airbnb. With this, you dont get room service. Thats fine since we got used to this from the COVID pandemic changes. The location is great. Its very close to the subway and walking distance to many restaurants and the Empire State building. The room was mostly clean except one duvet has a red stain which we changed without issues. The bathroom is quite small though. I would stay here again.
Great location, a few walking minutes from Penn station and subway. Amazingly organized and welcoming staff, clean, big rooms and fast elevator! Surrounded by flower stores, I will stay here again. Thank you Angel and Alexandria, your kindness set the tone to an unforgettable week.
The Daily changing price of the room is absurd and it changes only augmenting. The rooms are too small and you hear all about outside, the staff was not friendly, I had prepared all the forms needed to check in my daughter which arrived alone and they didnt care. The location is very good in a beautiful street full of flowers in the morning.
There were several issues with the bathroom (shower, toilet, storage), bugs in the room, and printer in lobby. Housekeeping was every 3 days and only upon request, which was fine, but cleaning could have been better when they did come.I chose this hotel for location and room size. These 2 factors were all good plus nice to have microwave and refrigerator (and not used for hotel snacks and alcohol). It was the issues described above that would make me hesitant to return.
Location was good and my room was great.Service could be improved though.Im only giving fewer stars because, in my case, the receptionist guy could be a little friendlier and the check-in experience felt rushed. At check out, we were supposed to pay some state tax (100 USD!!!) that we werent expecting. This was not their fault because it should be written somewhere on the email from the booking website (Vrbo) and it wasnt. Although, since the guy had charged us the deposit at check-in, he couldve, at least, mentioned the tax or even charged us immediately. Taxes being paid separately is not a common thing outside the US and even though I was aware of that, reception should clarify this, specially, to foreign visitors.
Well located with a good bed. We chose the Cambria because my husband had stayed here once and its very central in Chelsea- near the High Line, Times Square and several subway stops. The room had lots of space for our luggage and us, a safe, coffee/tea maker, drawers, a large tv, clock radio, and internet. The rate didnt include servicing the room but we were only there 2 nights so we didnt mind. The shower gets a fail for not having any pressure or being able to turn the temp higher than warm.
The price is good for the area, and the hotel is close to the subway and plenty of places to see in New York. The hotel is a bit musty, and not exactly the most lavish or up to date. There are only 2 elevators, which means having to wait, unless you want to take the stairs. We were on the 18th floor, so taking the stairs wasnt a great option. The bathroom was very small and not very clean. The shelf was falling off the wall, and the tile grout wa pretty gross in some places. The staff is amazing and very attentive. Overall, it was a good stay, but likely wouldnt stay at this location again.
Great location in the floral district! Our room had a very slow draining bathroom sink. The hallway on the 5th floor smelled like mildew. They had a fan running and the carpet was wet. We had a feeling the ice machine on the floor might have gave out. Other than than, room was comfy, had a mini fridge and working A/C. The rooftop restaurant was only serving drinks until 10:30pm. It was wonderful we could bring our own drinks and food to the rooftop after it closed to enjoy the rest if our stay in NYC. We would stay here again!
Although my husband and I were unable to actually stay here, the customer service was impeccable. Ecram (and Angel) went above and beyond to help us in our situation when our reservations made through a third party were unfortunately not actually made (all fault to the third party, not the Cambria Hotel). They helped us find accommodations, even though it involved reaching out to other hotels due to their full capacity, and they made sure that were werent stranded after our long travels to arrive that evening. I am so thankful for their help and kindness in a very frustrating situation. Thank you!
I wish I could give this hotel negative stars thats how bad my stay was. Our room was on 4th floor as soon as we checked and got to the floor there was piles of garbage that smelled so bad you could smell it while wearing two masks. One of my friends got sick so we requested room cleaning and was told a straight up no we have to wait till the third day to even get any cleaning at all. The room was dirty when we checked in. Honestly go stay somewhere else.
After being stranded on the highway for almost 4hrs, having to find a room in a town wed never heard of, and praying nothing happened to our vehicle until the 1 shop that was going to be opened on this holiday weekend opened the next morning, it was going to be impossible for my wife and I to make it to NY for the wedding we were headed to. So despite calling only 5 hrs prior to check in, and the window for cancelations was long gone, the management at Cambria graciously offered us a full refund for our 3 night stay. You can read nothing but great reviews about the hotel, but we wanted to share how grateful we are for the Cambria staff, and just say Thank you for understanding and simply being kind to 2 complete strangers. Were disappointed we didnt get to enjoy what everyone has raved about, but you can be certain we will look to this Cambria the next time were headed to NY. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.The Zs
This hotel is incredible. It is kept in great shape with superb customer service as an added bonus. It has a great location with easy access to the subway to quickly get you where you need to go. The rooms are comfortable and roomy for typical NYC hotel rooms. Well worth the stay!
The staff and location of the hotel were great. However, if you get a room that says it has a 2 person sofa bed, do not plan on using it as such. The sofa bed did not open easily since the rooms are smaller and once it is open half of it is just fabric over wood. I would NOT recommend getting this room if you have over 2 guests with you. Sleeping on that for any trip is not great but in NYC is even worse. With this being the pricier of the choice hotel brand I was expecting better quality.
I stayed for 4 nights and from the initial entry to the modern sleek property to my first interaction with the Staff on-duty that night, i had a welcoming experience.Im laid back and im pleased the staff took that into consideration with my checking In & Out. I like the way that you are Eco-conscious but dont milk it.I had a King room with added Sofa which was great for getting some work done and being able to chill for a while before hitting the streets. The bathroom was pokey but totally understandable and usable without any true complaint. Ill keep it in mind for future trips, especially with its proximity to Penn Station and the Subway.
This hotel was only a five minute walk from the train station! It was close to many different New York sites! The staff was phenomenal and made us feel like family! We felt safe and secure at this location and we would definitely come back again when visiting New York!
You get what you pay for.Booked one room, but on arrival got downgraded to a worse room without acknowledgement, only to figure out myself later. They claimed it must have been an error while booking and they oversold. This hotel doesn’t have standard simple things like a laundry bag or lotion. Shower in the bathroom is “walk-in” with same floor as the rest of the bathroom, BUT there’s no shower door to keep the water in the shower area. So after your shower enjoy either slippery cold wet floor all over, or a soaked floor towel with a slippery wet floor all over.TV kept turning on by itself to the screen greeting random other guests in other rooms. If your room has a locked door adjoining a neighboring room, you will hear everything said or done in that room.
This hotel is in an ideal location for visitors to New York. It is convenient to Penn Station and the subway station and many area attractions are a walkable distance away. The staff is warm and welcoming and will provide any assistance you might need, whether it’s calling a cab, printing theatre tickets, or storing bags before or after checkout. The rooms are clean and modern.
The staff at the Cambria Chelsea were very helpful and accommodating. The condition of the room was fine, not great. The bathroom had very little space, which we are used to in big cities like NYC, but something to consider. The location in the Flower District in Chelsea was not the best. There were several other hotels on the street, but it wasnt the part of Chelsea that I wanted to be in- I shouldve stayed closer to Chelsea Market/Highline.
We stayed at the Cambria hotel for almost two weeks and loved everything about it. Location is great with two near subway stations. Room was spacious and nicely furnished. And above all, the staff - Brian, Jose and David were so kind and helped us when we needed to extend our staying. We didn’t encounter such amazing service in other hotels in the city and we are truly grateful for them. We will surely be retuning to this hotel in our next visit in the city!
Few housekeeping problems but I am sure that will be taken care of. Otherwise, a very comfortable stay. Street not very noisy compared to other places I have stayed. Nice view from rooftop. Would stay again. Close to 1 subway, which was very convenient. Nice bakery for coffee and pastries down the street.
We loved our stay at Cambria Chelsea. For NYC the room was large with a desk and sofa and king bed. The bathroom was up to date with a great shower - very pretty. Sparkling clean room. Great location in the flower market area. We were offered a voice of a street view which was a bit noisy or a quiet back view. We chose street view and loved seeing the flower markets set up each morning. The value was exceptional.
The Cambria on 28th was wonderful. Every staff person was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was well maintained, the room was clean, they offer parking at a garage just around the block, and they have all the amenities you’d need for a nice stay in the city. We were so pleased with our stay and will definitely book another stay the next time we head to NYC.
This hotel is excellent. Location is so convenient and in a great area. Soo many good bagels and food spots around. Rooftop was so nice to use and bring up our own food and drink. They checked us in early without hassle and everyone we interacted with was so kind. We couldn’t stop saying how much we enjoyed this hotel and we will be back.
1st time staying here on a short business trip and I have to say it is delightful. room is well sized for an inexpensive New York boutique hotel very clean, Very modern it has a Coffee maker refrigerator and microwave. The people at the front desk are very nice. They tell you at the front desk there is no in room cleaning during your stay but I knew that from reading the reviews and it is fine with me. I will go back on subsequent trips.
Jose and Brian were great staff and a credit to the hotel. Happy to answer any questions and help with any problem. Location is great for either going uptown or downtown. Chelsea village is also minutes away. Subway stops at either end of the street. Room size was good. Would expect water included in the room for the price.
LOCATION! Cambria - Chelsea is located along W. 28th with many other box hotel chains so there is plenty of people and activity happening. I loved that I had a subway station option (1 and NRW) at either end of two blocks of 28th. There were so many great restaurants (the Smith, Crompton Ale House) and late night quick eats (Chelsea Gourmet Deli) nearby which supported my decision to stay there at that location. As to the HOTEL, I stayed in a King Room with my son and having a small couch and movable table was very convenient when my bestie and her child came down to hang in our room. I will say that its clearly an older building and although the floors are wood linoleum (you can feel the dips and bumps in the floor through the facade) and the bathroom is tinytinytiny, I felt like it was clean and well kept. The front desk staff was great (which is important -- and you dont know its important until you have an issue!) and I didnt mind not having cleaning service everyday (COVID restriction). Truly, my only issue was that I had a hard time getting in the bathroom and closing the door because the space was so tight. Also, the sink was awkwardly square and water would easily splash out onto my clothes. But once I figured out how to avoid that, it was all.Overall if you are looking for a clean, simple lodging, the Cambria Chelsea is for you. And anyway, dont spend time in the hotel room. You are in NEW YORK for gods sake -- enjoy the city!
Hotel is wonderful! Reasonable room rates and large room size for New York. Elevators were fast and room had a great view. Staff were wonderful and held our luggage at no cost on our last day so we could explore. We will definitely stay again. Felt safe and was overall a perfect place to fall asleep after walking all day
The hotel’s location worked well for me including lunch in Koreatown and a Broadway play. People who worked at the hotel were very welcoming but some were not wearing masks. The room was cheaply furnished, my sheets showed signs of worn and bathroom was too small. Place was quiet.
This hotel makes the bed up with a cotton duvet cover that seems to be changed between guests. this makes the room cleaner and more comfortable. On my first stay here the bathroom was also clean enough, but in the interving 2 years the bathroom, at least in room 1007 became filthy. Very disappointed. For a hotel in this class cleanliness should be the first priority. This hotel represents itself to be non-smoking. However, this does not seem to apply to weed. Smoking is smoking. In a non-smoking environment, edibles may be the way tro go.
We stayed at the Cambria late August. The staff is friendly and courteous. The room was cute but soon found it was very dirty and had safety hazards. I wiped the floors myself because we checked in past midnight and we just wanted to sleep. Notified the desk the next day and nobody corrected this condition during our stay even after writing it down, hopefully the next person doesnt get the same level of unclean as we did. The view was decent but garbage thrown over the Cambria sign so not appealing. Ran water several times through coffee maker and it had gray pieces all in the water. trying to make a cup of tea. Shower head was pink and toiletries were full sized but empty. I feel we should not have paid for this experience. Just a word of caution, we also paid too much for bottled waters (18 dollars). Not sure if this was just a bad room but I cleaned it myself, notified the desk, and simply moved on because we had to move my daughter into school and I didnt want to make her stay difficult because we only had a couple of days. I would not recommend until they fix the hotel and clean it better. especially in times like this they need to up their cleaning levels. clean the hardwood floors in room 204, they were so dirty and sticky and the walls had splash/ drip stains. it was bad.
Location and staff were great- out room was clean and quiet. There was a mix up about the day our room was supposed to be cleaned, but staff apologized. It would be nice to have room cleaning everyday since the rooms are small. Overall the room was comfortable. The bathroom is super small, but I know for NY that is more common. The staff were always willing to help with directions and our questions. We would stay here again.
Great deal for the price in a centrally located area of Manhattan. Walkable distances, subway, bike rental, or Lyft rides where you need to go. Staff exceptionally professional, friendly. Really biggest complaint was the bathroom design, smallest sink I’ve ever used and only enough room to slide into the bathroom. Otherwise definitely an option to consider.
I travel back to New York frequently for work. (I lived in Manhattan for 14 years before relocating in 2020). The Cambria in Chelsea is the perfect location for me: walking distance to Penn Station and to my workplace in Manhattan. The room is really big for a Manhattan hotel, so its suitable for a longer stay and for business travelers. There is a roomy desk for working. The WiFi is good. The bathroom sink is comically small for such a relatively spacious room though. And while the hotel was never dirty or dingy, there are a few little details that could use some freshening up: refreshing the floors, fixing some of the paint, etc.
Positive: Rooftop bar was great. Room was very nice. Bathroom door provided a logistical challenge not to crush a toe when I tried to close it. Negative: No room cleaning service. We were told that room cleaning was down to 3 times a week, but we saw no one the entire 6 nights. They did, however, make clean towels available upon request and were very good about that.
The front desk staff was very friendly, professional, and informational. They were kind enough to upgrade our room to a beautiful view! The room was clean and perfect for the three of us to stay. On our way out after checkout, the front desk staff offered to keep our luggage while we spent the rest of the day in the city, saving us a trip of going back to our car to load up our luggage. We will definitely be back next time were in the city!
The location is perfect. Just a minute from the 1 train. Only problem is that the rooms are so close to each other so sometimes you can hear people walking around, but thats typical for NYC hotels. Its nice to have a gym but it was so small and kinda stunk. Theres a little terrace uptop with a good view.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, but you may want to check other hotels out first. Hallways dark and dingy, dirty linens in hallways during the day, the rooftop bar - half of the chairs are wobbly and may collapse (no I am not fat) and the walk area is not smooth and tables and chairs are dirty. The rooms are subpar at best - rock hard beds, floors pop and crack as they arent glued down properly and the bathroom is very small.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location, with lots to do around it and the subway was right there. The rooms were nice and the rooftop provided a great place to sit and relax with a great view. We also liked the outside seating area in front of the hotel.
This Hotel is right in the middle of the flower district. The street isn’t too busy and there is a rooftop bar. The front desk is super pleasant and the check-in/check-out process was easy peasy. Our room was clean and we had a pretty cool view from the 9th floor. We were right in the middle of Chelsea and walked everywhere we needed to go all weekend. Everything is within a 30 minute walk. Super close to time square and only a 15$ Lyft if you’d rather go that route. We had a great time! Bed was comfy, room was huge, tv worked and there was a fridge and microwave. Great stay, will definitely be staying again.
The Cambria Chelsea ism perfect for those looking for a comfortable. clean midtown hotel. It is close to subways, stores and restaurants. Being in the flower district means it smells great when you take a morning walk past all of the flowers and shrubs : ). I stayed with family (including 2 teenagers) and felt safe. I would recommend this hotel and most definitely would stay again.
Hotel was in a good location. It was well-kept and overall service was excellent. The front desk staff, housekeeping, and all other staff were very nice. Rooms were surprisingly a good size and it did not feel crowded when staying with other people. The only downside was the bathrooms are a bit small, but still manageable. Although the walk-in showers could use a barrier so water does not flow on to the bathroom floor. Other than that, I had a pleasant stay and would stay at this hotel again.
This hotel, which is centrally located outside of midtown Manhattan is a perfect place to stay If you want to explore areas other than the most popular tourist places. Its out of the way from the more congested tourist areas but you can walk a short distance to get to those places. Its beautifully appointed Its clean rooms are spacious. The rooftop bar is a definite bonus.
Im in NYC often on business and normally stay on the other side of town but chose Cambria this time. Excellent decision. The location is perfect, the room was clean and nice, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and Jerard in the bar helped me keep track of my belongings lol. Will def make this my go to hotel from now on.
The staff was amazing, the rooms were comfortable, the location was convenient and the roof top bar gave us a wonder place to decompress after a day seeing the City. Gerard, the bar tender at the roof top bar was wonderful!!! He didn’t mind answering questions, he was full of useful information and by our second night he had our drinks ready upon seeing us. Jose, a front desk work was a positive force who provided drink voucher when our rooms were not ready upon our arrival. I didn’t catch the young lady’s name who was a manager, but the positive attitudes seemed to flow from her. When someone was trying to smoke at the roof top bar it was clear that she fully supported her staff. The rooms were clean and the hotel is close to the “1” train subway station on 28th street, making getting around the city pretty easy. The hotel is surrounded by flower and plant wholesaleing shops that are breathtaking.A nice play to stay
We stayed here for 3 nights and we enjoyed our stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is clean and worth the money. The location is very good and we liked roof top as well. We were expecting at least one room service but didnt get any. I think they are short on staff.
Loved my stay for my girls trip. The hotel was super nice and accommodating to requests. The rooms are clean and a good size. The location is amazing as it’s so close to some of the landmarks and we were able to walk to most places. The roof top was a cute one, smaller than I expected but the view was pretty nice and its free? The onlyyyy complaint would be that you can hear doors closing and people talking loudly in the hallways. But where doesn’t that happen? Will definitely come back for future trips.
Positive: The staff was amazing. They were professional, understanding, and very accommodating. The amenities were absolutely perfect. A refrigerator, microwave and ice machine are crucial when traveling for stays longer than 2 days. Negative: The first room given 1302 was completely in dire need of attention furniture, carpeting, bathroom cleanliness. It looked like someone had been living in there for a very long time. The staff listened to my concern and immediately moved me and my daughter.
The staff was super attentive and very polite. Alexandria was awesome! Our room was nice and clean with ample room for 4 (two adults and two teenage children). Great location in the Flower District. We enjoyed walking past the plants every day. Close proximity to Times Square and subway stop at the corner. Not a lot of street noise through the window in our room (we were on the 16th floor). There is a nice assortment of equipment in the fitness room.Very fast elevators.Nice rooftop area.
The hotel service was just amazing. Thats the second hotel out of all places weve stayed that had such an awesome service. The room was very clean and spacious ( with a fridge and a microwace) and you cant beat the location and the rooftop access. But the front desk people is what made our stay so special. Thank you to all the people that helped us!
Positive: The hotel is in whats considered the floral district. Every morning walking to the subway or heading to Nomad/Midtown you are surrounded by plants and flowers brought out by the wholesalers on 28th St. The location was great! Negative: Understanding that the city is just opening up after a long lock down from the pandemic the hotel had limited services. Room service for bedding towels, etc. could be changed every other day upon request due to low staffing. It was not a problem.
The hotel is only a few blocks from herald Square and a short walk to the empire state building. You cannot beat the location or the price. The hotel is well staffed and clean! Though a few improvements could be made for updating, overall it was a pleasant stay. We had no issues getting extra towels or working with the hotel to secure parking a block over.
The front desk staff were very helpful during our stay. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived for check in, but they gave us complimentary snacks and kept us informed the entire time. The walls were thin and the towels were very thin and scratchy. The room was very spacious and it was nice having two beds. The location was great for the subway.
This hotel has a great location, however the hotel itself isn’t all that great. The staff at check in were very nice and welcoming... however as soon as we got to our room, it was no longer welcoming. The hotel claims to be smoke free, yet the hallways reeked of smoke and weed. The room itself was not bad, except the linens had hairs in them. The bathroom was not well cleaned and needs a lot of maintenance, and not to mention the small sink (which you can’t even lay your toothbrush on it’s so small). The TV in our room was also broken. The only complaint from the staff would be the housekeeping, who were very loud in the halls, always yelling at their phones and at eachother. Our stay was okay, but I don’t think we would stay here again. If you are looking to book a room here, you may want to look at other options first.
Reasonably clean and comfortable and central and safe location for the price, away from the lights of Times Square but not too far. A bit run down around the edges, but with more attention to deep cleaning of floors and air conditioners, great value. Friendly, helpful staff.
If you dont mind dirty hotel rooms than this is the place for you. The location is decent and the staff are polite but the rooms are really dirty. The room smelled like weed. There were greasy finger marks all over the windows, dirt on the floor behind the bathroom door and splatters all over the drawers and closets. We mentioned this to the staff and they did nothing.
I stayed at Cambria Chelsea for a week at the beginning of June. What a great great find! I compared amenities online, and Cambria did not disappoint! Let’s start with a very FRIENDLY front desk staff! They were all super accommodating! The elevators were never crowded and quick! The room was very large for NYC! My room had a fridge AND a microwave! The beds were comfortable, and the pillows were even more comfortable, and I slept so good! The shower is absolutely amazing! Bath products smelled great! Coffee maker and Nice TV were a big PLUS! The room was just PERFECT! The location is also PERFECT! Everything you need is very close by, and it is also easy to get to most tourist attractions! On checkout day, they held my luggage for as long as I needed! Very kind! The price was good, and I also felt safe. Thank you to everyone at Cambria Chelsea! Will definitely stay again!
You downgraded big time. No room service. Rooms are darker. No drinking water.Nothing to compare with other cambrias I have been. DC, PA.Your staff....Honestly i regretted big time saying there with my family for 3 days. It completely messed up our stay. This is not the Cambria I know. I will make sure everybody knows how crappy this hotel in NY is. This is not good service at all for the money you charges. We were shocked that you downgraded beyond motels. This was really really bad. There are other things I dont even want to mention. I dont usually complain i understand things cant be perfect but this was so bad.Even dirt.
The Cambria is located in the Flower District and is full of life and flowers. The hustle and bustle of the street is so fun to watch in the early morning hours. The hotel is modern and beautiful. The staff is so helpful with knowledge about the city. Loved loved our stay!
7/10 I think the value is one of the best in the city. It’s location to the subway is also great. The street it’s located on is not noisy in the evenings at all. The room could use some updated. Bathrooms are great for one at a time. Nice sized shower. Staff was accommodating. Overall; for a few days in the city it was a great stay.
I had a good nights sleep. Rooftop wasnt what I expected. Drinks were extremely expensive, so was the stay. Parking is not connected to the hotel. Parking is $55.00. Parking isnt close to the hotel. Parking is around the corner from the hotel. Cambria Suites, is a nice and clean hotel. I recommend Cambria Suites.
Solid 3 stars.Pros: location is great, easy walking and metro access. Easy couple of blocks to Penn Station. THEY HOLD YOUR BAGS - seriously, everyone says this, and theyre right; really nice thing, that. People we interacted with were good - the rooftop bar bartender is cool. Relatively quiet for NYC. Relatively large room for NYC (quotes definitely necessary).Cons: rooms are not amazing, look like they did a reno maybe 10 years ago and not much since (e.g., peeling wallpaper, marks on surfaces, laminate flooring coming unglued in places). Pretty lumpy bed, mini fridge never cooled. Doors are so tightly fitted to their frames that youll hear every other door that closes. Loudest !@#$ A/C unit I can remember having in a room (it did work, so thats good; actually, its noise level might be a positive, it may have covered over exterior noises...unsure on that point).Overall: we dont regret staying here, probably will seek out something different the next time.
Nice boutique hotel in the heart of Chelsea. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Only negative was we had zero housekeeping during our 3 night stay. They told us at checkin it was every other day due to staff shortage, which was fine, but they never came on any of the 3 consecutive days we were there.
We stayed at this location for two nights. There was a full bag of garbage that was left outside of our hotel room, our floor smelled heavily of bleach, there were brown streaks left in our toilet from the previous guests, hair on the chair and in the bed, a sticky substance on the chair. and a lot of dust. We reported this to the front desk but they didnt have any other rooms available for us to be moved into. A staff member was sent up to clean, but he only wiped the toilet streaks and did not disinfect it. He said it was a water mark, but I have cleaned toilets before and that is not from water. We avoided the chair and sucked it up for the remainder of our stay. The staff were generally kind, but I dont think well be staying here again. Inspect your rooms upon check in.
We stayed here because you can get to the High Line, Hudson Yards, 34th, Korean-town & Chelsea Market (15 min walk). It’s also in the heart of the Flower district. If you stay Mon-Sat you are in for a treat. Also did I mention the hotel has a cozy rooftop?! You can see views of the city and relax. Overall, great spot. Will be back
Good deal on pricing for what it’s worth. The devil is in the details and this particular location lacked in the details. The room was clean too the eye, but once in you began seeing small things like stains, sticky floor, and slight mildew/mold in shower. Get the details and small things corrected, can be a nice stay again. Front desk was nice.
Hotel was a great value, very clean and staff was incredibly friendly! Unfortunately there was bad weather so the rooftop bar was not open, but you could still go up there with your own food and drink and admire the view. Well definitely be staying here again, as it was in the perfect location! Highly recommend!
Clean, secure, great location. I was well received, and the door was locked and we needed to be let into the hotel. It was very safe and easy to park the car for a reasonable rate of 55 dollars per night. Garage around the corner. Clean room, comfortable bed, small bathroom, but nicely set up with simple amenities. Very nice staff.
Its a perfect comfort! Easy access to Times Square and a perfect place if you want to explore New Year by walking! Staff are really nice! Roof top is so calming! Its in the middle of Manhattan! Would definitely be back and stay on the same hotel! Thank You Cambria for making my New York fun and worth it!
Located in the heart of the wholesale flower district in Chelsea. Clean, modern hotel. Rooms are very small and not much space to move around with all 4 of us in there but then again, its NY. A 15 min walk to get to the high-line. All kinds of great restaurants and clubs nearby. Would definitely stay here again. Hope the rooftop bar is open next time!
We stayed at the Cambria in Chelsea for our 7day/6night family trip to NYC. The front desk staff were responsive, helpful, and friendly. The hotel is well maintained and out room was updated. The rooftop area had good views of the city. The hotel is close to subways, shopping, and restaurants. Definitely recommend staying here.
I didnt know much about the Chelsea area of Manhattan, but it was really convenient in the middle of the area of Manhattan below Central Park. The hotel was great and a TERRIFIC value - the staff was especially noteworthy as friendly, efficient, welcoming, responsive, and personable. Surprising that their WIFI network is NOT PW protected.
Its a pretty nice hotel. Last time i was here, a year ago i belive, had a really bad experience and said i wont be back here, but i suppose never say never. I am really glad i did. I am honestly saying pleasantly surprised by the positivity in this place. Hands down, everything have improved, the front desk the most, the housekeeping is the sweetheart lady ❤. This time i want to thank Cambria hotel on the wonderful experience, and i am happy that you took the given chance stepping up and proved me wrong. Thank you and see you again
The hotel is centrally located in Chelsea just a minute away from the 28th street subway station. The room was surprisingly large by NYC standards and very clean. Check in and check out was completely hassle free, and I would definitely stay here again when I come back to NYC.
Hotel was clean, up to date, and clean. Great location in Chelsea. Melinda at the front desk was the cherry on top of our stay! She was extremely friendly and helpful, and remembered my name throughout our stay. She deserves a raise! Best hotel worker I’ve ever encountered.
Looking for a convenient hotel, you’ve come to the right place! This is Hands Down The Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. And it’s not because of the scenery it’s the Excellent customer service the Staff go above and beyond to provide. Michelle, Tyler, Alexander, Melinda & Brian are the staff member’s I normally see. And there’s free parking on Saturday’s. I am now a regular and they are now my hotel Family! Don’t hesitate to stay book right away !
I stayed here for my 30th birthday weekend and we absolutely loved it! The room was clean, the staff was beyond welcoming and amazing. If I ever stay in NY again I will definitely be returning. Joanna in Managemnt was full of life and had awesome recommendations on rooftop bars and restaurants. Also, they have a rooftop section where you can sit, have a drink, and see the city line.
I compared this room to that of when i stayed with my parents. The obvious difference, I booked with air bnb this time and they did not. I was given a room that had multiple faults. It had an uglier soap holder in the bathroom (looked stained??) the toilet paper holder was broken so our toilet paper fell on the floor OFTEN. the shade on the lamp near the desk under the tv was actually broken and hung about weirdly. The shower pressure was less than that when i stayed with my parents in the same hotel. the air conditioner made the weirdest noise and the TV didn’t work off the bat (we would have had to call someone to connect it, which i didn’t have to do when i stayed with my parents) Of course, booking through air bnb i expected not to be given top priority or the best room but the difference in room quality was large. expected better!
I received a bank charge in my arrival day to the hotel for 820 usd and today i receive another charge for the total invoice so i paid two times. Please tell me when that first charge of 820usd will be back to my account. Thank you.Carlos Sirvent (stay from dec 3 to dec 7). Thank you

2022-06-16Room was spacious and well equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some coffee as well the basics you would expect from most hotels. Staff was kind and accommodating, willing to take the extra time to sort out small issues to ensure everything went smoothly. Quick elevators with key cards required for use ensure swift and secure access to your room, which uses the same card to get in and out. Shower water pressure was decent, and temperature was fine. Location is great. Checking in and out was swift and without hassle. All around a great experience, and if I need to be back in the city, this will be my go to for the foreseeable future.

2022-04-27The Cambria was exactly what I hoped it would be and more! Clean rooms, really accommodating and friendly staff, and ideal location for our short trip spent exploring Chelsea and attending a show! The staff were exceedingly helpful in allowing us to store our luggage both before and after check out so we didnt have to lug the bags all over. Also, there is a great rooftop patio/bar hang out! My niece took advantage of the gym and said it was great. Less than 10 minute walk to Empire State Building, and a lot of great places to eat near by. Also, the street is full of wholesale flower vendors, which was lovely to walk past each morning. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in NYC!

2022-01-30I do not have enough nice things to say about Jose and Brian + this hotel. Everyone was super accommodating the room was very clean as well as the bathroom. They really went above and beyond with their customer service and truly made our stay great! The room was a good size and the two queen beds were great for my friends and I. They also had a microwave and mini fridge in our room which was great.

2021-12-28I chose this hotel mainly because I am a Choice Hotel member and was attracted by the price and decent location. Having stayed in many different NYC hotel rooms over the years, I wasnt expecting much for the price, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was quite large by NYC standards, clean and very modern in decor. There was a very large TV in the room and a small fridge convenient for restaurant leftovers. I was also surprised by how quiet it was. There were only six rooms on our floor. I highly recommend on the basis of value for the price.

2022-05-21Excellent hotel to stay in NYC! Great amenities, rooftop is awesome! We stayed in a king size room and the spaces was perfect for us, we were 2 adults and a 3years old boy. The location is perfect too, very close to the main attractions and subway. Close to Penn Station, that is a great plus! 100% recommended

2021-12-30The Cambria Hotel in Chelsea was a welcome change from the typical NY hotels Ive stayed in. The room was larger than most, as was the shower. The beds/pillows were comfy. The room had wood floors and was very clean. I especially loved the location! It was the first time I had stayed in/near Chelsea. This was more of an upscale area. Definitely will stay here next time!

2022-04-20The price and location was primary the reason I kept this reservation. Staff was very professional and kind. I would recommend families this hotel. It is quiet in the evening. Ask for higher levels too. The windows does open for fresh air. The room is standard quality cleaned but it is small for a family of 4. Manhattan space is expensive and I think I got a very good price for this reservation.

2021-12-27Cool street to stay on with florist and plants lining the sidewalk. Big rooms for a NYC hotel. Had room to walk around the beds comfortably. Red 1 subway literally steps away. At end of block and it gets you to all locations with transfers sometimes needed. Overall great location and great condition of hotel room. Beds were super comfy. The hot water was very quick to turn hot. No complaints for this hotel!!!

2022-07-02Great location, and the room had a pretty decent size for NYC. The rooftop has a really nice view, and the staff at the front desk is really nice and helpful. We would stay at the Cambria again! The only complaints are regarding the bathroom (too small, you cannot use the sink unless you close the door, and you cannot close the door unless you are in the shower), and the lack of soundproofing with the hallway (we got woken up several times because people were yelling and chatting there in the middle of the night)

2022-04-03The hotel was modern and roomy by New York standards. I found the beds extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and our room was ready early. It was nice of the hotel to allow us to leave our bags there on our last day while we waited for our train. My adult children enjoyed the rooftop area and I loved being in the Flower District near 3 other hotels. It was centrally located to many areas of the city.
