This place is absolutely amazing. I overlooked this place when I first moved to the area because it doesnt look like much on the outside, but inside? It has a beautiful dim atmosphere, very romantic when they light the candles at the table for you. This food is amazing. I have yet to find a place that makes my steak the way I like it, but Cammaratas makes it exactly how I like it. Amazing italian food. Only thing I would say is, come on a slow day if you want to get the real taste of this place. When its really busy its a little bit of a roller coaster on the flavor of your food. The waitresses are really friendly and go above and beyond to fix whatever makes you unhappy with their services.
First time coming here and most likely won’t be back. The service was great and my steak was cooked to perfection, however, nothing was seasoned. Everything was bland and basic and you could tell there was a lack of care that went into the food. We ordered the dinner for 2 for $49 dollars with a shrimp cocktail as our appetizer. Imagine our surprise when our waitress walked over with four dinky shrimp. We hoped our entrees would be better but unfortunately they weren’t. Like I previously mentioned, the steak was cooked perfectly medium but it was so hard to enjoy when it tasted like the grates of a charcoal grill. I chose spaghetti for my side and I can tell you it has nothing on Ragu. They barely put enough sauce to cover the portion of noodles. Finally we got our dessert which was a hot fudge sundae and there was nothing special there either. Overall my experience was okay, the service was great but the food was extremely lacking in taste.
Cammaratas is my favorite restaurant for Italian food. Their traditional sauce is delicious. I highly recommend the Chicken Parmesan dinner. Its the best Ive had anywhere. Youll also be greeted by their delightful host and made to feel welcome when you walk in the door and the wait staff is excellent. Five stars, for sure.
Looks like your average family restaurant, out dated, but the prices reflect more upscale. The food was average, I had lasagna, the sauce was piping hot, but the actual lasagna was cold, and it wouldn’t hurt to melt some cheese on top of the lasagna. My partner had the chicken parm and said it was average. The rolls come out with dinner, and I must say that was the plainest roll I ever had, and it was dry (sorry!) Had to do reservations 2 hours ahead. Staff was friendly though.
Hate to do this but have to. I have eaten there several times. Tonight we made reservations. First time ever. Walked in about 7 minutes early was sat down right away. Waitress have us menus my date ordered a water. I ordered a large jack and seven up. She got her water quick my drink never arrived. I watched it sit on the bar for 10 min. The owner mover it out of his way to talk to bartender. Still no drink delivered to my table. Watched the waitress walk by our table 3x. There was nearly no one in the place. I hope this review help you get your help straight. We walked out after sitting for 20 min. Davidson road inn got our meal tonight.
Went out to dinner on Friday 7pm hour. It was busy but you wouldnt be obvious. Seating was spaced out enough that no concerns about the covid rules. Now the important thing. The food. The appetizer small warm rolls and mozzarella sticks. Delicious. Probably the best mozzarella sticks around. The main meal. I heard the fish fry was the best in town. And I think they are right. The best fish fry I had in years. If you are saying should I or shouldnt I go to Cammaratas. GO! You will be happy you did.
My second visit was terrible! We were seated right away, and served drinks. Two other groups came in about 15 and 25 minutes after we did respectively. We ordered the dinner for two; I the veal parm. The other groups had nearly finished their meals by the time our dinner was served, and the veal parm was nearly burned to a crisp, it was horrible. I dont know why it took so long for our meal to be served. Our waitress was not very attentive. I was there a few weeks ago with my son and we had the prime rib, food was good and service was good.
Great food great atmosphere great service a little out dated could use a freshing up as far as aperance goes but otherwise great place to go for a special event or even just out for a quite evening with great food on date night definitely recommend for a nice dinner with top notch fine dinning menu the escargot and prime rib were delicious and cooked perfectly if I were to not pick the plating could have been a little more like you expect from a fine dinning restaurant but thats just aesthetics which is really the only spot they lack. From the sign out front to the dated decorating and lack of detail in plating they could use a little more modernisation. But I wouldnt let that keep me or yourselves from joining them for a wonderfully delicious experience. Cant wait to go back for more!
My family and I have been frequent customers for 10 years. They never seem to have an off night. Food and service have always been excellent. Reasonably priced. Customers are practically family here.Update: May 2021: Thankfully Mr. Cammarata was able to keep us fed during the pandemic via take-out! We just dined in-restaurant for the first time in a long time. So nice to see some familiar, friendly faces. Havent skipped a beat. Food and service were excellent. Our table had chicken parm, shrimp and steak. Some new brews on tap :) Highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was great, but the food is very pricey considering the overall experience. The interior and other elements need a desperate makeover. Salad dressing was served in plastic cups. There is a TV from circa 1990 mounted in the corner which makes the dining room look like a cheap bar. The wallpaper and wood paneling are extremely dated and not very classy looking. The food was good overall, but nothing to write home about. The steaks and prime rib were prepared the best. The shrimp cocktail app is extremely overpriced for the size and presentation. The lobster tail was very tough and definitely not worth the price paid for it. My family was happy with the food overall, but there is plenty of room for improvement. This was my first time eating here, but considering the average experience, I wouldnt return unless the menu prices are aligned with the modesty of the decor and presentation.
Very good food and service.our strip steaks were juicy and properly cooked. French onion soup was tasty too and not too salty. There were nice chandeliers in the dining room and votive candles on the tables, but the overly bright ceiling lights made it feel like a cafeteria and the ambiance was lost.
FIVE STARS TO CAMMARATAS!!!Due to Covid, my daughters baby shower was canceled in Erie County three days before it was schedule ! BUT I called Cammarata’s restaurant and they accommodated us!! They opened early just to do the party for us. AND the food was great ! Bob the owner worked with us and the servers were so kind. Yes pleasant and helpful. Thank you so much ! God bless you and your staff
Went for restaurant week for first time. The food was outstanding. Great quality & value. The steak was done perfectly & my friends said the chicken parmesan was also very good. Ample parking & easy to get there. Staff was friendly & they didnt rush you. Definitely going back.
Eight of us had dinner at Cammaratas last nite. I had broiled whitefish, which was excellent, others had prime rib, pork chops, scallops or chicken dishes. Everyone enjoyed the food and said it was very good, as was the service. The only problem we had was that the price we were charged was about $2.00 more per item than whats listed on their web-site. You really need to update the prices posted on-line.
Staff was friendly and quick (though I was there on a particularly slow night by the look of it). The food (I had the chicken parmesian) was good, and the portions are very generous (definitely going to have leftovers) which means I didnt have dessert. Overall very glad I chose to drop in, definitely recommended.
Went for a Fish Fry on Friday. The service was slow even though they were not very busy. The waitress forgot our wine and then messed up my salad. That being said...the food was good. The kid portions were very large. I tried two different wines- both were fantastic. The fish wasnt the best fish ever. Its not battered by them, its just your regular run of the mill fish-It wasnt outstanding, but it was a nice night over all.
I was in Lockport for over a month for work. I can honestly say that Cammaratas was one of the best places I have been to get a steak. A coworker and I ate there at least 7 times during our stay. The staff was always courteous, helpful and very friendly. I tried all of the Steaks on the menu. Everything was always cooked to perfection. The Garlic Bread was good, even the salads were really good. I still talk about the Steaks to this day. I highly recommend this Restaurant to anyone and everyone. I will be back one day, just to enjoy their company and their great steaks.
Consistently the best steaks and chops in the city of Lockport. Amended..... why do people not realize that this is the best restaurant in Lockport.... maybe in all the north towns area??? The food, price and staff, Amazing! Yes, the decor is dated and it can seem sort of, casual? Comfortable? But this not a bad thing. Greetings from the owner and such consistently good food make this place a treasure.
While on a trip in Buffalo during August and September for a class reunion, I had the pleasure of dining at Cammaratas for lunch and a few weeks later for dinner. The food was suburb. For lunch I ordered the chicken salad sandwich recommended by my server and it was delicious. I had dinner on a Friday evening and ordered the lobster bisque and shrimp that were outstanding. I would highly recommend dining at this restaurant. Dont miss this!
Our Pendleton Fellowship Group had our Christmas party here tonight. There were 32 of us ordering off the menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the wonderful service given them from 3 very efficient and friendly servers. We would definitely recommend them to anyone wishing to book a party. Thank you for a great evening.
My family went for dinner on Easter. It was very busy. The servers were working very hard. Everyone was still very nice and tried to take care of so many people. Most of my family loved their food. My only complaint it the description of your entres. I ordered a lasagna. If your description told me it was all meat I wouldnt have ordered it. I had to send it back. The server did her best to get me something else. My husband ordered the ham. I must say it was disappointing. It was dry and had this funcky pineapple something in top. It looked horrible. Your description never mentioned the pineapple. My daughter is allergic to pineapple, if she would have order it she would have sent it back. All I suggest is more description of the food. My mother enjoyed her prime rib. The guys had chicken jack and thought it was very good. Over all, it was a good visit. I would recommend your restaurant. Next time I will have to ask more questions of how the food is prepared. Your servers get 5 stars. I just had to subtract a star for lack of description.
Wanted Dannys Sheehan for a great steak dinner but never made reservations for Saturday evening. Mistake #1. Googled this place decided too try it. #teribble. 53 mins to get entree. Stuffed mushrooms were clearly microwaved and warmed up. Ceaser salad was not fresh to say the least. $28 Steak had no flavor nuthin more then a breakfast steak at your local diner. Service was on another level never. The assumed owner sat at the bar rite across from us waitress never came and checked on us once the meal came. Took her 15 min just too refill a glass of water. She served our meal and never saw her again in fact I had too get up and walk over too the owner to request my check. Owner is more too blame waitress was overrun with tables. Best part was the Busboy who kindly refilled my glass with water. If there was a tip it should of went to him. Worst experience ever. Highly NOT recommended
Delicious! My husband and I went last evening and I had the linguini with red clam sauce. A previous reviewer thought that canned clams were used. I have had plenty of canned clams and plenty of fresh. These were definitely not canned. The clams were fresh tasting and tender and plentiful. The serving was large enough to bring home for tonights dinner with plenty of clams left. My husband had the cheese ravioli with italian sausage. This is one of our favorite sauces - red and not over-seasoned. Delicious as usual. I also question another reviewer who thinks everything is watered down. I had two bloody marys and they were not weak. I also had the hot bacon dressing on my salad which was also very tasty. My only complaint? That they dont sell their sauce to go! Its that good!
Watered down and blandWent here for Mothers Day. The drinks are watered down and the food not seasoned and the end cut off prime rib was not right. My Manhattan didnt have any alcohol in it so its not a Manhattan. Honestly, there liquor is watered down. The end cut of prime ribs that my uncle and grandmother order looked nothing like an end cut of prime rib. Our scallops we ordered were supposed to be broiled but were actually streamed with some paprika sprinkled on top. Not one char mark and in need of salt. The ranch dressing for our salad was also watered down. Wouldnt recommend going there.
The food was very good we went for dinner with 2 other couples we all had the special witch was1 appetizer 2 entrees 2 salads 1 desert and 1 bottle of wine for $55 plus tax the food was very good and the waitress was very good and informative would definitely go again

2022-05-22First time, loved the large 3 Ravilo w/meatball. First time Ive ever been to an Italian place that doesnt give you bread & butter or garlic toast with a pasta dish. I looked around and noticed other people had some dinner rolls and garlic toast with their meals. But other than that the food was good. Stuff peppers were amazing too! Megan was our waitress, very nice!

2022-04-10My Family had dinner here tonight for my Moms birthday. We cannot stress enough what a wonderful time we had and how absolutely amazing the food was. We were a party of seven and we felt like we were the only ones there. Our waitress, Meagan was amazing. The stuffed hot peppers were EASILY the best Ive ever had. My steak was perfect. The French onion soup was amazing as well. It was great to hear locals walking in and the owner greeting everyone personally. They also gave my mom a piece of cheesecake with cherries for her birthday. Just a great time had by all! Well done!

2021-06-29I’m new to town and was craving Italian food and well then there was Cammarata’s! I stopped in on a whim, close to closing. The staff was so welcoming and the owner Bob even introduced himself and was checking in with other guest to make sure they were taken care of. Now for the food : Excellent portions! Delicious. Everything is so fresh and tasty! Their sauce is on point. They have earned a new regular! These people care about their food and the people eating it! When researching I found Cammarata’s is a staple in the area, and if you place an order you’ll see why!

2022-04-03Table for Nine on a Friday evening. It was very busy and we were able to sit right down at our table. EVERYONE was impressed with their order. Some had the dinner for two. Choices were awesome. Appetizer: baked clams to die for, chef salad, stuffed shrimp au gratin white pasta with garlic and olive oil, dessert: cheesecake topped with 🍒s a Bottle of Merlot wine!

2022-03-19I have to say, whatever you guys did with your fish fries OMG STOP. I paid good money to take out 2 fish fry dinners for me and my mother in law, shes not from this area. I was talking up this dinner all day saying their the best in town. When I got it home tho, what a mess. Fish was kinda thrown in the container and was torn up. I got over how it looked untili tasted it. First of all hard to keep on a fork because it was mush, it was like a giant fish filet from McDonalds. Horrible. I dont think I can go back for any kind of meal after that. Really I was looking forward to it.

2021-12-06It was my first time returning here since losing my Mom 4 years ago. I have to say I really missed it. The food was still delicious as I remembered. If you arent in a hurry and want great food this is a relaxed atmosphere restaurant. If you are in a hurry this is not the place to go. As it should be, carefully prepared meals for your enjoyment not to scarf down. We have all struggled during this pandemic. Every non franchise restaurant deserves all the respect in the world for their continueed service of the public and the struggles they face to staff this restaurant with the adequate service. Give them the Love and support they deserve especially during this holiday season.

2021-06-17Very accommodating and friendly. Had a nice soft Chianti. Veal dish was tender and nice flavor but very saucy and the Marsala didnt come through. Red sauce was sweet and a bit of a bite...that is really personal variation that lots of folks love.. want to go back and try the eggplant..
