We are truly Happy Campers! This was our last camping trip of the season and the kids were bummed that it was going to rain all weekend. However, we had a GREAT time regardless of the weather! It was one of their Halloween weekend celebrations and the owners at this KOA did a wonderful job with the calendar of events and everyone was sooooo friendly and helpful starting from the moment we pulled in. The kids painted pumpkins, played bingo and won 🥇, and had a ton of fun trick or treating. We will definitely be back!!!
Update. New bathrooms are amazing! Truly a family fun campground. So much for the kids to do and plenty for adults as well. Very clean bathrooms, camp sites, store and cabins. The staff and owners are top notch.. If your in Upstate New York or driving across the country make sure to stop in and enjoy this KOA campground! As for this family we will be back multiple times each season....
What can i say, well to start, checking in at the front desk was very easy, the staff were also very friendly. The store is well kept and stocked, the pool is clean and beautiful, the mini golf area was a little bigger than expected(big plus)and also well kept. Moving behind the front desk, the arcade room was full of fun games, very clean, and the AOK cafe serves delicious ice cream 7-8 on the weekdays, it was a perfect treat after a long day of camping. The pond is beautiful, stocked, and also well kept. The bathrooms were clean, completely functional, and accessible from basically anywhere on the campground. Camp k9 had lots of little things for your fur babies to go and play on and it’s fenced in. The volleyball court was also very clean, as well as the tennis court. There’s honestly nothing negative i can say about this campground at all. All of the staff were very friendly, as well as all of the campers. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully we’ll get a chance to actually use all of the recreational things on our next visit. We loved our stay and our fur babies loved it as well. ❤️
We have had a wonderful time at this KOA. The staff is friendly and so helpful! They did everything they could to accommodate our needs and always with a smile. My kids were never bored and always had something fun to do. Great facilities and super clean. Seems like they are doing more to the campground each year. We will definitely be back. Thank you
Beautiful facility with lots of activities. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The decor is very nice (love the lights near the bathroom and throughout the campground to brighten it up a bit as you’re walking around at night). The bathrooms are clean and my personal favorite feature are the dish washing sinks! We normally stay at state parks where there are no such things. Although we don’t have kids, I would recommend this campground to families, as there is no shortage of things to keep your kids occupied.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! This place is so beautiful and peaceful. Really nicely well kept campground. Looks like there is a ton of things for kids to do, and there are walking and biking trails in the woods. I love this campground so much, but we only got to stay one night as we are headed up to Valdez, Alaska to open our KOA there. We know how much effort and thought you guys have put in to make it this nice—very well done. I really hope we get to come back. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!!
We loved everything about this place! We had a large group with toddlers and teenagers and they went out of their way to accommodate us. There were so many fun activities!!! I didnt get pics of everything. Even when it was raining we stayed occupied. It was so beautiful there and clean. The cabins were great. The staff were very friendly and wonderful! There werent very many people there so we stayed covid safe. Overall we just had a great time and look forward to our next visit!
When we arrived, they greeted us happily and knew us from making the reservation over the phone. One of the staff members also helped us park our RV. This place is amazing for a short family vacation or staying a longer time; it has countless activities for everyone and they even offered to turn on their bounce pad on weekdays for us. Super sweet and personable!! Well maintained too. I recommend them!
This KOA was our first stay as we begin our full-time RV life. We joined up with friends that adopted a rescue dog from us and this was a reunion visit. The property is very well maintained, activities were abundant, and the staff was impeccably kind and helpful. We highly recommend this campground to anyone looking to stay in this area of New York.
This place is overcrowded double or triple over reasonable capacity. I do not mind people, but too much is too much. This is party place with loud music over street speakers, ice-cream advertisements, etc. If you are fan of wild parties, you may love this place, otherwise look elsewhere. As for the rest, it is fine, bathrooms are clean, and management is polite and professional. We stayed here in August.
Very close to Palmyra which was a plus for us. Great stay, good staff. Only complaint was that there were no souvenirs in the store or entire area for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints sites as we like to get a magnet for each place we stay representing the culture we see and no go.
The campground is very well taken care of, and is located in a nice area. There were just several things that will keep us from staying again.1) They only accept Visa and Mastercard, based on other reviews, Im guessing they dont accept Discover and American Express due to fees and chargebacks.2) The most rules weve ever encountered at a KOA.3) The regular full hook up site we were on was extremely short with a large slope at the front. If we had a 3/4 ton truck and 28 foot trailer it would not have fit. Im sure we could have reserved a more expensive site such as a grand patio or big rig site. But weve not encountered regular full hookup sites this short before. At the end of the day, the campground is well taken care of. If you can deal with the three points above then Im sure you will enjoy your trip.
We stayed Friday-Sunday and it was a great experience. There were a few noisy campers after 10 even 11 but, that didnt keep my kids or husband awake so maybe they werent that noisy and I just have mom ears 🤣The roads were nicely taken care of. The pool was clean and nice. Mini golf was a good price. We didnt rent bikes or the boats because it was 90+ degrees. Our campsite was nicely shaded and secluded. We had enough room for our 12 person tent & canopy along with room for the dogs not to trip us up.My hike to the bathroom was kind of long being pregnant and all but, that was fine because the bathroom was clean almost every single time I went in not disgusting like the state parks. We played bingo Saturday night. Great price. Fun times, I even won. The Bingo caller Dottie is funny as well so that definitely doesnt hurt.We will for sure be back!
The best KOA anywhere!!!!! Most beautiful campground ever , the staff and owners bent over backwards to accommodate us after a emergency trip to Canidagua to see my dying mother in law , ultra clean bathhouse , and fully stocked camp store , plenty for the kids to do , if they get board it’s their fault . Very pet friendly
Very nice facility. Loved the little air conditioned cabin, was clean and cute. Just what we needed for a short get away. Kid friendly atmosphere and also pet friendly (although unfortunately I wasnt allowed to bring my sweet camp loving Rottweiler)Game room was fun, altho hot on the days we went. Bounce yard, and dog area were all nice extras. Renting bikes was a little expensive but we enjoyed it! Bathrooms clean and bright. Water available w easy access. Overall a nice easy camping experience.
We just returned from our 2nd stay at this KOA. This time, we even brought friends and they stayed in one of the great cabins (VERY nice). We could not be more impressed. The staff is fantastic (even Dottie who calls bingo slowly;). Our families had a great time cooling off in the pool, and cant wait for the new pool on 2020. We had just returned from a KOA in another state, and they could take lessons from this one. As seasoned campers, we appreciate the clean restrooms and showers, and the activities for the kids. Cant say enough, other than we will certainly be back, especially since we won a free night of camping at bingo! Thanks so much to Jon, Dottie and Victor.***Just returned from stay #3, new pool is awesome! Love this KOA. Best managed campground we have been to.
Buyer beware: customer service was far less than expected. I called a week in advance to cancel our camping trip due to a car accident. Though I knew up front we’d booked a “non refundable” spot, I was hoping the staff would do something to make this right given the circumstances. I would have gladly taken a credit or anything to try to make this already difficult situation better. Instead I was given no option but to lose the deposit we’d paid. I will not be patronizing this location ever thanks to this.Camping has become quite popular due to the pandemic so using it as an excuse for not offering me any sort of resolution but to lose my money when you’ll easily double your profits with another guest is quite irritating.
Very clean, well cared for and the staff really seem to have a good time which is contagious. If you stay here its definitely worth showing up for the ice cream. I stayed about a week at a tent site and there were a couple outlets available and very quiet tucked into the woods so I wasnt listening to all the camper AC units. Really enjoyed my stay and would recommend to anyone.
I was very impressed with this campground. The people were very helpful and bent over backwards to be sure we were happy. I was with a group and I didnt hear a single complaint. I even had a small problem and Victor immediately came right to my unit and solved it - it was totally my fault, but he corrected it with a smile! We were very happy with our experience and already made arrangements to return again next year. Thank you Victor and your entire crew!
One of my favorite places to be! What a great place for my family to relax and let my kid be a kid. Perfect size for a family environment. Plenty to do and a beautiful brand new pool. The owners and staff are super friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are also on top of unruly/loud/rude guests to make sure everybody can enjoy their camping experience - some might not like this, but if helps my family feel safer knowing that the KOA cares and is looking out for the safety and happiness for ALL guests.
Our last campout for the season, and we had a great time. It was Halloween Weekend and we enjoyed giving out candy, seeing all the costumes. Also I want to say we were very impressed with all the thank you and Happy Halloween from the kids. Kudos to the parents, oh yeah the spooky music was good too. We will be back
The grounds are beautiful. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. This KOA holds special events throughout the year. This is a pet friendly environment which is perfect for us.The store has a variety of selections at decent prices and theclaundromat is clean. There are a variety of restaurants and The Creamery has awesome ice cream. The cabins are an excellent choice for those without campers. This is a perfect getaway and it affords people to choose their comfort of social distancing.
This place was great. the staff and owner are wonderful and very friendly, they made us definitely feel welcomed. the kids had great fun with all the great activities they have. we were on a site right on the water so they kids did alot of fishing in the pond. i would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a nice relaxing time and fun with the kids. thanks agian guys for evwrything you did for us.
Ive stayed at hundreds campgrounds and KOAs over the past 30 years and this is by far my favorite, its a gem in the camping world. The facilities and grounds are exceptionally clean and well maintained. The campground is a nice size, everything is within walking distance. They installed a huge new pool this year and it is fantastic! The staff is all friendly, family owned and the workers appear to be campers themselves. Ive always had positive interactions and its impressive how much staff is around to help. They are very upbeat and make you feel good with every interaction. The 10 pm quite hour is enforced and staff patrol around the clock to maintain quite and help with anything you might need. The camp store is well supplied with goodies and camping essentials in case you need something critical ( I seem to every trip!). The pond is really nice and I always see people enjoying the fishing and boats. They have a Cafe with great pancake breakfasts (the blueberry pancakes are fantastic!). They also have pizza, burgers, ect. We especially love the fresh fries and onion rings, we usually grab some to have with whatever we might be grilling at the site. Probably the most family friendly campground weve been to. While my wife and I were playing bingo there was a group of kids and family playing kickball in a field and a bunch of kids jumping on some giant pillow thing, nice to see so many people having fun, even during these trying times. This is the only Campground where Ive been able to get a solid wifi connection, important for me as I can do a work zoom meeting remotely. We were also able to stream directly to our smart tv from our home services. No need for cable or a satellite! There is a lot to do in the area, horse track and casino less than 5 miles away and a water park nearby. This is a great place to stay while touring the local wineries or going to Watkins Glen (Ive stayed at the KOA in Watkins, it is huge and the most expensive one Ive stayed at in the Northeast).I wish I had discovered this KOA years ago, its a perfect escape from home (Syracuse NY) and less than an hour away if my wife is driving :). I recently read that RV sales are up 30% this year, last time that happened was 9/11. Campgrounds booked very quickly and Im certain thatll happen again. Id book a year in advance if you cant get in now, I learned the hard way. This is a great place to book a Monday-Friday if you cant get in a full week. Enjoy your stay, its hard not to!Ps. Dont miss the Happy Camper Breakfast in the cafe!
Kids had a great time. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. My son caught some fish in the pond and he beat me several times at shuffleboard. The accessible deluxe cabin was great for my daughter! This was our first ever stay at a KOA and well be back.
Garbage in our pit on arrival, if you can even call it a fire pit. You cant have much of a fire without possibly peeling the paint of your vehicle bc its so close to the parking. Campsites are literally on top of each other. The Ranger Ricks are constantly on patrol making sure you not having too much fun. If youre looking for a KOA do yourself a favor and take the drive out to Hammondsport or Medina.
Staff very friendly and helpful, site are mowed and and maintained. Seasonal campers friendly and site allow for privacy if you wanted it. Its only the 2nd KOA Ive been to and definitely 5 stars compared to 1 star we gave to the one we stayed in 2 weeks ago in Cooperstown. We will definitely be back its close to our home and only 45 mins away. Lots to do for the kids including fishing, mini golf, bounce area and more. Thanks for great weekend!
Incredible campground. We stayed an extra 3 days because we were so comfortable. The people working there are friendly and work as a team to make you feel like one of the community. From leading you to your site and helping with special requests, they really made our vacation great. Very VERY clean facilities and lots of activities for the kids. Big clean pool and bouncy pillow with trails and Parks a little everywhere. With trikes and paddle boats for the pond. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the finger lakes.
My husband and I come here 2 to 3 times a year. We LOVE it. The people are so kind and it is quiet and relaxing. My kind of place. The pond is so beautiful. I love searching for frogs. Its a really nice place. Not too much to do. But not boring by any means. We choose this place over many others! I love the cabins. They are really amazing!!
Just OK. A bit pricey compared to other parks we stayed at during this particular trip. Polite and courteous staff is a plus. Appears to be fun family park. Grounds starting to look a little rough and could use some renovation. Encountered unruly neighbors, leading to a less than pleasant stay. If you require a quiet restful spot, look elsewhere. All in all, not a very good value for the money charged.
Love this KOA. Dotty and her husband are awesome. Lots of fun. Great stuff to do. The cabins are very nice. The sites are great. The only down side honestly is the older guy who used to own the KOA that still works there is very rude. Hes been witnessed being rude to both children and adults alike. I wasnt any of the individuals involved but witnessed his behavior. I heard from other campers that they steer clear of him because of that. I honestly feel like its time for him to just retire before he scares away potential campers. Otherwise really nice place to go for a quick getaway.
Great campground! Lots of kid activities, paddle boats, fishing, bounce thing, zip line, obstacle course, swimming poole, trails, clean bathrooms with hot showers and a good price. We stayed in one of the larger cabins, family of 6, two sets of bunk beds so all 4 kids had their own space and a big queen bed for is adults. Cabin even had AC which made the sleeping more comfortable. Would come her again.
My family and I recently camped at the KOA Canandaigua Campground and had an awesome time! The campground is extremely clean and well-maintained. You can tell that the owners and the staff take great pride in what they do as well as providing a safe and healthy environment for people to enjoy the outdoors and make memories with their families. Our crew included two adults and four teenagers. All of the teenagers enjoyed the activities that the campground had to offer...especially the game room which included air hockey and a pool table. The adults enjoyed the hayride the most.We are already talking about booking another camping trip next fall because we enjoyed it so much. Thanks KOA Canandaigua for giving us a great weekend and a place to hang our hats and relax for awhile.
The campground was nice. Pool was nice but not nearly enough lounge chairs. Lots of gravel which was a bit annoying. Jump pad was deflated, sticky, and had gravel all over it. What was most upsetting is the staff working at the shop who were very unaccommodating, insulting, rude, and unreasonable. Campfire pits were not placed well. Most of them were right where you would have to park your vehicle. Cheesy loudspeaker announcements. Campsites on top of one another.
Beautiful campground..Owners are lovely and quiet accommodating. My Best friend is there for the season (summer until Oct1)came up with them from South Florida, very impressed. Showers-Bathroom very clean also laundry area.Highly recommend !!! You wont be disappointed...🌻🌻🌻
The camping spaces are tiny and packed together with no privacy. It costs more than most camp sites so I expected better. They were also rude to our friends who were staying with us but showed up a little after us for not having a parking pass on their car, despite just showing up to the campground. Its a serviceable place which Im sure others enjoy, but our experience was pretty lack luster.
First I would like to say that I am not a camper I am a hotel / resort person. We stayed here for 2 nights and before I arrived I was not sure if I would make it the 2 night. Well I may now be a camper! We stayed in a log cabin with a VERY clean bathroom. This cabin had A/C that kept our cabin ice cold in 90 degrees weather. Mini fridge with real freezer, microwave, propane grill and THEY supply the propane!! They also have a permanent charcoal grill, fire pit, patio AND deck! On the patio they have a picnic table and on the deck they have. a table and 4 chairs They also have a table a chairs in the cabin with tv! I am not a public pool person but their pool was crystal clear! So many FREE activities for the kids. We went on the 4 person bike, paddle boats, hay ride and new huge outdoor jumping pad. All the food and drinks we had we really good and less expensive then and nearby restaurants. We did a free wine tasting, bingo, free face painting from “Created by us pottery”. If you are thinking of staying here stop thinking and DO IT! You won’t regret it. Staff drives on golf around making sure you have everything you need and they are so nice. We felt very safe here. We will be back!!!
We only just arrived but the place is great so far. The owners are friendly and inviting and make you feel welcome. That does not happen at all campgrounds. They made sure we were set in our spot and made sure we had everything we needed for the night. We walked our dogs around the campground and it is loaded with things for everyone to do. First impressions are lasting and we have a VERY good first impression.
Great campground! There are plenty of things for kids to do, but its not overdone. Our site was flat and spacious. (The staff rolled up the carpet under our awning, probably so as not to kill the grass beneath it. Understandable.) Lots of amenities, including a small cafe. Clean bathrooms. Lovely area.
We had to cancel our reservations due to covid and were refunded half of our money, we asked to rebook for the next year and were told to call back on a certain date to book it and were told no one could book it earlier than that. We followed their directions and when we called it was booked already. They let someone else book it before the date they told us we could book it??? We had been in contact with the head of this KOA about 15 times over the course of the year and he completely failed us. This was supposed to be a family reunion honoring the passing of our mother since she took us there all the time growing up and they failed us. He knew our plans and desire and I wish he would have been more considerate after all we had discussed with him.
Great place to spend time with family/friends/loved ones. I visited this place for a camping with my college friends for a night in April which is still cold at night in this area. I highly recommend to bring heater if you are planning to spend a night in the cabin as some cabins dont have heaters inside. Also, we were notified that the restroom in several cabins wont work as the office closes water pump to prevent from water freezing. Overall, great time with my friends having a barbeque. Quiet, beautiful and staff are nice :) I hope I can visit here again in warmer days.
Close to home and feels like youre far away! All of the workers seemed very kind, great fishing,(especially for younger kids) ice cream is offered every night, paddle boats, row boats, bikes were a RIOT, pretty quiet after 10pm and we WILL be back! The only reason for 4 stars is because of our campsite. It was ALL sand and very annoying.
I will share a direct quote from the Manager of this location: This is a personally owned business. We have the right to change our policies whenever we want! Conveniently, this location took over $700.00 of our money during a Worldwide Pandemic...and REFUSED to apply it towards a later date?!? We booked/reserved OVER $1,400.00 worth of accommodations, asked to have them bumped to later date, due to virus. NO EXCEPTIONS given. They refunded HALF, and told us to call back on specific date to re-book if we desired. We did EXACTLY what they described, only to find out that they had taken bookings earlier than what was explained to us previously. That is when they conveniently notified us of their Policy Change / money grab. This location / company will ONLY be considerate & partially understanding as long as they are holding YOUR money. TERRIBLE customer service. One last quote, If you dont like it, you can take your business elsewhere. My response: I WILL!
We booked a two room cabin (2K2) for the fourth of July weekend for 4 adults, 1 child and a dog. Our cabin was located directly on the pond and was super cozy. We had a double bed, kitchen table and mini fridge in the first room and two sets of bunk beds and a microwave in the second room. There was a window AC unit in each of the two rooms along with a ceiling fan in each. There is a covered porch with a wooden swing. We brought a 10x10 canopy to set up in front of the cabin for shade and to protect from some rain. There were family friendly activities going on all weekend like a petting zoo, kids crafts, make your own sundaes, DJ karaoke, etc. The price was very reasonable for our accommodations. The campground is not overly large so everything is within comfortable walking distance. The bathroom facilities were very clean and well maintained. The showers included a 3x3 (ish) changing room in the same stall as the shower. We thoroughly enjoyed our pancake breakfasts in the Kafe and absolutely loved Elliott! He was so pleasant and friendly. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. We especially loved working with Barb in the office/store. We had pleasant exchanges with Victor and he was so happy and friendly each time.We took out the paddle boats and had fun on those. Again the cost was not outrageous for a little bit of fun. We did rent the bikes - word to the wise they are harder than they look. There are no gears and they are pretty heavy. The pool is on the small size (3 ft - 8 ft deep) but very clean and well maintained. There is no lifeguard on duty and an adult must be with children at all times. The kids loved the Jump Pillow - it was one of the main attractions. There is a 10 pm quiet time but that just means not to be rowdy. Everyone still sat out by their campfires talking. There is free WiFi and you just have to reconnect every 24 hrs. Its not terribly fast but thats cool because you are camping. We had a great vacation and made some new friends. We want to thank all of the staff at the KOA and we cannot wait to return!
We have camped at the Canandaigua KOA for a number of years now. This year we all most did not go COVID-19 -and the fact grandma and two other members having diabetes it was a hard to make a decision on what to do !!! We did go and glad we did.Koa canandaigua made it easy to social distance. Staying in cabin 9 its a family favorite. Having your own cabin gives you the control on what activities you feel comfortable doing. This year we choose for some to use the great new pool and other stick to the cabin area and enjoyed watching all the great views of koa has to offer. Camping date for us Aug 7th 8th 9th. Fingers crossed we all will be fine but it was great to get OUT !!! Thank you to the owners and staff for a nice three days.
Bounce pad was fun and showers we clean. The obstacle course was a fun cute touch for kids. In town for tournament stayed two night. Saw few open spots both days we we there but we were sandwiched in on a small circled section and put on a sloped lot, tires on one side were off ground in order to level and we ended up with bent jacks. Yes we asked to move all booked they said. We had to maneuver to get near hook ups which were up next to drive way. Anyhow other that nice place..oh yeah $3.00 for put-put bit steep.
Pop-up camper get away from the rigors of regular life. Ive never stayed here before and decided to follow the expected quality of the brand name. We were not disappointed. The grounds were well kept and the staff was all friendly and ready to help. The game room is a bit dated (50 cents for a pinball game I played in the 80s?), but when camping we generally provide our own entertainment. The mini-golf course is fun and $3 per player.Overall, I recommend (but I cant talk about the cabins as I bring my own place to stay).
Tons of stuff for the kids to do from a small hiking trail to fishing and a bounce pillow this is an excellent place to go camping. We tent camped with our Cub Scout Pack and the staff was extremely helpful and arranged for us to have 3 sites together right on the water at a special rate for the scouts. I would definitely go back here again.
Did not like our spot, not private enough and it was littered. We checked in late, they shouldve allowed check out late. Nothing they had to offer (outside soda machine, double sink, trash, water, electric for some sites, rv hook ups etc, and restrooms with showers, though they were kind of dirty) was open to enjoy early in the morning either. They appeared super dog friendly though. Theres mini golf, bike rentals, a store and restaurant (though hardly ever open). Saw a pool and checkers and a few other things that would be free to enjoy. The pool was closed. Not open until 10 am. Overall just ok.
Im from Wisconsin going to Boston. This KOA is worth every penny. Staff escorted us to site. Check website for list of amenities. Lots to do. Fit and finish of campground showed it is well cared for. Quiet & comfortable. I came for one night but stayed for two. Weekends, cafe is open for meals and treats.
Coronavirus closed down all of the areas of the state that we are visiting so we could not travel. KOA decided that they would rather lose future business than work with existing customers. We are not going to offer the amenities that we advertised, and we will restrict your ability to stay here, but NO, we will not refund your money when the state closes. Lots of other family owned non-corporate areas to stay, no reason to throw away your money here..
Very disappointed to learn that deposits are non-refundable during the month of July. I understand that might be the case for a holiday weekend, but the entire month? Life happens and things come up unexpectedly so when I canceled my 7/9 reservation I was expecting to pay a $10.00 cancellation fee, but was informed they were keeping the full deposit.
I really liked this camp. We took our family on an Motorhome trip across America and we stayed at a lot of camp grounds. this was one of our favorites. It is an old school KOA with all the charm to go with it. If we are ever back up that way, we will stay there again. We didnt have any problems with the staff.
Stayed in rv on the pond. Was only there 2 nights so didnt care to have sewer and it was all they had open. Spot was very nice but was not level but we made do with it. Lots of nice features to keep kids busy. We are going back there again as it is the closest to a family member. People were very nice and helpful
Its a nice clean KOA campground , its got a good playground for kids , pool , a little store , a game room , small pond with paddle boats, mini golf and a small cafe open on weekends. Everyone who works here is very nice . There are campsites next to the road which does have some traffic at night but other than that its perfect.
The owners were outstanding as was the staff. We had a major issue with the weather (snow in May & traffic) so we decided to stop for the evening. They made us feel welcome and we could stay as long as needed to get back on the road. We will stay here in the future. For all those that complain about this KOA, you have no idea what you are talking about. Lance & Sonya
Refused to refund a deposit on a reservation I was forced to cancel due to extenuating Covid-19 circumstances. The reservation was canceled days after being made and was a month in advance of the check-in date.Im moving across the country in an unprecedented time and made the reservation believing the closing date on my house would be delayed. Upon learning everything was back on track, I immediately canceled the reservation and was denied ANY refund on my deposit.Every other hotel, airline, AirBNB, campground etc has waived non-refundable fees and offered flexible booking due to Covid-19—all except KOA who appears to be looking to unscrupulously profit off people during a pandemic. My advice is to AVOID AT All COSTS and take your business to a more ethically run campground.
We are on a tour of the US. We are staying at KOAs all the way and this one is a gem. Lots of kids activities, clean, friendly, friendly staff... a great place to stay. Get a guide to your spot at the front desk, some of the camping spots are a tad tricky to get into.
I cant express how wonderful this place is. You have to see it to believe it. You camp and its like being in a hotel. They are helpful is an understatement. Met great people and the kids had a blast. Kids play places were free for the most part and the charges for everything else was nominal. Cant wait to go back.
Stayed overnight while seeing some sites in the area. The campground was clean, folks in the office were nice and friendly. Id stay here again if we were in the area.Cant comment about the laundry/showers, etc, as we didnt use theirs...but like I said, this was a perfect place to set up for the night during our travels!
The campground was very clean however the owners were very rude and unpleasant. They constantly ride by the camp sites on their golf cart and are very nosy and question campers to how many adults/kids are registered per site. While mingling with other campers one night the owners wife came up to the site we were on and said I see there are only 2 adults registered on this site....sorry- we were visiting and making friends with other campers. The other thing we disliked about this KOA is that the in ground pool is very old and dated. The ladders were extremely hard to get in and out of. I am disabled and had a very difficult time getting in and out of it. My kids also stubbed their toes because the concrete was so uneven around the pool. The mini golf course seemed like a nice feature, however it needs some updating seeing that it costs $3/person any time you play. Needless to say, we will not be going back to this KOA
Rough looking roads and park. We only stopped to use the dump station. price to dump was $25.00 - which is steep - most RV parks charge $10 for use of the dump station. In addition to a high price the rinse water at the dump had a metal bent tube /non hose attachment end, therefore not able to attach our rinse hose to clean our tanks. Office staff was more interested in answering the phone and let the customers in front of them
Nice, well kept and tidy little RV park. Convenient off the thru way, close to Canandaigua shopping and views.Staff are polite and helpful.Patio sites are drive thru, large, quite level and treeless, but have full hook ups and permanent block patios with furniture.Did not stay on other types of sites.
What a great experience we had at this KOA! it was incredibly clean, there were TONS of activities for kids and adults, great wi-fi speeds, and an incredibly friendly and accomodating staff. They set the bar high for campgrounds and we cant wait to come back next year! 😁
We drove in to check out the park, but missed the sign at the entrance requiring visitors to check in at the office. A very rude man (the owner?) stopped us and asked did you see the sign? when we said no, he said well you better back on up and take a look. When I went into the office to check in, the staff were also very rude and said there would be a $15 deposit for myself, my husband, and my sleeping toddler to briefly drive around the park to check it out. Are you kidding me?? I dont think were missing very much...
The campgrounds was very nice and clean, and there were numerous things to do for mostly children which is great. The staff (not the owner and his wife) were exceptional. Always willing to help or give advice and were just the nicest people. Unfortunately my fiance and I will not be camping here anymore because of the simple fact that the owner, Victor, and his wife are 2 of the most rudest people I have ever encountered. We stayed there for the 1st time last weekend, everything went well, until it came time to rebook a cabin. Victors wife showed a lack of patience and was extremely rude and was trying anything to not give us our refund back that we put down for another weekend. (We wanted the refund back because they were not sure if there was going to be an available cabin the following weekend.) After getting the run around, we decided to give them another shot and bring my fiances little sister with us this weekend. Everything was good, we left yesterday for a few hours to hit up Canadaguia beach, came back to find my fiances engagement ring missing. We searched everywhere and as a last resort (and in order to get a new one under the rings insurance) we had the police come out to file a police report. Everything was fine until check out this morning. Victor was intolerable, rude and arrogant. I left my change accidently on the counter and started walking out and Victor made a rude and highly unneccesary comment is that how you lost your ring? We enjoyed our 2 weekends here but we will not be returning because of the way the owner and his wife treated their guests!
I’ve never been there and don’t plan on it. My friend almost lost good life to a bad accident and these horrible people told her no refund bc they need a 2 day cancellation. Are you fricken kidding me. Sorry my friend couldn’t plan her husbands accident. We are blowing up Facebook with the email that was sent to her! 😡😡
Im absolutely stunned by the ignorance shown toward me and my wife today. Weve been on the road for six hours straight and desperately needed a place to stay so we could eat and get some rest. We have 12 hours to go and my wife isnt in the best shape. We were turned away from the camp grounds (which accepted dogs) because we had a pitbull. We were told you dont take aggressive dogs so we werent breaking any rules. Pitbulls arent inherently aggressive. Our dog is small and sweet and loves everyone. Shes a registered Emotional Support Animal which means shes not allowed to be aggressive. The only dogs Ive ever witnessed aggression in are golden retrievers and collies. Maybe those should be banned. Or maybe you should lift your discriminatory policy regarding animals that are the least threatening to anybody. Were still on the road and my wife only just stopped crying.
I wouldnt even give them one star! Tried to reschedule because of a death in our family, but the Manager wouldnt even consider it. I am aware that their policies are clearly explained on the site, which he reminded me of multiple times during our conversation, but he wouldnt even give me the consideration of rescheduling at a different time without a refund. A death is not something that we planned on. He sounded very bitter, nasty and mean. The camp was not full, so he would not have lost any money by extending this good will gesture. I would never recommend doing business with this person. Hes heartless, and has no conscious.
The camp was in great shape, but i cant suggest going to this K.O.A . The owner Victor or in this case NAZI , was not a happy person when a question was thrown his way. He also was rude to my friend for having a door open to long with his a/c on, and asking if the ice cream shop was open his reply was dont you read the agenda sheet. He then went into a rant about camp 47 having a rug on the grass. We were going to take the rug up, but noticed several others at other camps that were on the grass and the rugs were bigger. Yes Victor camp 47 is back to let people know how you marched into our camp and needed to know about people that visited us for the day. WE are not criminals but you treated us like that, with the drive buys in your cart to see, if we were causing damage to your grass. WE made the best of the weekend with out letting him get under our skin. Our kids enjoyed and yes we did it with music, which Vic isnt a big fan of. 5 stars are for the friends that made this weekend fun, even with a person HOVERING over us.
**BEWARE **UNTRUSTWORTHY OWNER , Victor the owner screwed us over on 4th of July weekend. We made reservations for 3 days back in December ( The minimum) even though we only needed Sunday. Called ahead Friday told them we wont be arriving until Sunday and to please hold our spot, we were paying for all 3 days. Arrived Sunday with the Travel Trailer and 700$ concert tickets to CMAC and Victor gave our spot away, told us sorry nothing he can do, they were booked. He claimed that we said we would arrive Saturday and thats what the note in the system said. Funny That they wouldnt even contact us to confirm before giving our spot away. Refused to give a refund or even attempt to help us out. He acted like he wanted nothing to do with us. Try finding a campground with an open site on 4th of July weekend. Ended up driving all the way home to park camper and drive all the way back to the concert. Victor, the owner of Canandaigua campground was completely rude, unsympathetic to the situation.avoid this place.
DONT STAY HERE !! Here visiting family camping , This owner is a total lunatic . We missed the sign to registrar our truck , he came to the camp site at 10 pm with his spot light yelling and flipping out , very nasty about it we apologized and told him we didnt see the sign to do this , he was still loud and rude. Come to find out he came back the next day and day after that flipping out on the people at the site , upsetting some to tears. DO NOT STAY HERE ! How this place holds the KOA name is being looked into and beyond me ! Horrible Place !!!
If you enjoy listening to some tunes (low volume) and enjoy some privacy then i would say dont visit this place, The owner and his wife are very rude and unpleasant, All day long they drive past your site with a golf cart and rudely look into your site to see what your up to..I could understand this if i was some middle class scum with disobedient children but this is not the case. alot of the sites are filled with ppl who live here all year long so they are set in their ways and snobby! alot of them are employees. it felt like a prison camp and i cant believe i actually paid for this visit! also a employee yelled at my 15 yr old son because he was riding his bike (too fast) i assume cause the man yelled slow down..this place is miserable! and i wouldnt recomend it to anyone..thanks for reading my honest post.
I just want to say the Owner Victor is the most rude and inconsiderate person we have ever met, and we will never ever stay there again. When we went to the office to sign in they changed our site, and that was only the beginning of our nightmare. Victor told us our site is never guaranteed... what? I have never heard of such a thing! Victorr did end up finding us another site, which meant someone else is going to be booted from the site he gave us, just a vicious cycle! Then Sat. night out of the blue all my classmattes were under our awning just talking and laughing and having a great time, when Victor came from out of nowhere and yelled my name out loud and said I need to talk to you! He started screaming at me and telling me I was responsible for all my classmates and I need tto quiet down.. ok , I understand that, and said how sorry I was, but for some reason he kept scrreaming and yelling at me and my husband! Then told us the next morning we were to go apologize to all our neighbors, seriously? Then he said the next step would be the State Troopers, OMG, really? We were only talking loudly and laughing! I felt like a criminal. Needless to we will never stay again, so just beware of Victor he is mean and nasty! I am so sorry my class reunion had to end that way :(

2022-06-29This is our first time at a KOA and it was such an amazing experience. We have an annual camping trip and have tried 3 different locations so far and this has been by far the best camping experience my family and I had. There is so much for the kids to do and the service is the best. They keep everything so nice and clean. The bathrooms were so up to date the kids are already asking to go back. Thank you we will be back and this has become our favorite new place!

2022-06-14What a wonderful KOA! This is our first time staying at a KOA campground, and it exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a cabin, and it was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful view of the pond. The bathrooms are brand new and exceptionally taken care of. Our son loved the heated pool, and jump pad. We will be back this summer!! We are so lucky to have found this gem so close to home. Thank you to the wonderful staff!

2022-05-03I absolutely loved this place. The staff was so friendly and always helpful. The people that camp there are nice. We had a good spot with full hook ups and it was a pull thru site which they help you get line up properly so that you have the maximum room. The only thing that I would like to see is a little more space between the campers, this did not deter or make our experience there bad at all. I am looking forward to coming back and bringing more families to enjoy the campground .

2022-06-02For 18 years, we have been celebrating the Memorial Day Weekend at the Canandaigua KOA. The family-run facility never disappoints with upgrades and fun activities. This year (2022) there was an extensive remodel to the rest rooms and showers. Lots of great activities and kids were busy with pool time and jumping pillow. We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins which was sparkling clean and ready for us upon arrival. The staff is helpful and the owners are frequently walking around interacting with the guests.

2022-04-24This is my second time here and Im booked for a 3rd stay Memorial Day Weekend. The facilities are excellent and the staff is wonderful. Clean, well-kept, good sites, fast WiFi and lots of activities. I cant say enough good things about it. Ive been full-time RV living and camping at many places across the country for the past year and I think this is one of the best campgrounds Ive experienced.

2022-05-21Absolutely awesome campsite. Family friendly with LOTS of activities for kids. A cafe, store, ice cream, and brand new private bathrooms. And that’s just the facility. The staff here is professional, friendly, and knowledgeable (basing that on several interactions with different staff). I really can’t say enough good things. It’s close to our house and it’s great for a weekend camping trip. Way to go KOA Canadiagua.

2022-06-05After many years of not staying at a koa because of a bad time at another one my wife and I decided to try it again. We are so glad we did! We had an amazing time, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Everyone that works here seems to really enjoy their job. The grounds are very clean and organized, attention to detail is priority here.
