Checked the menu online before we went and EVERYTHING looked great, they didnt dissapoint! Got the green nachos (delicious) and everything my friends got looked delicious as well! We all had churros for dessert, they were a little different than what we were expecting but regardless they were still the perfect sweetness to end the meal with.
Went for lunch and tried one of the daily specials : The Philly Mac Burrito. It was loaded with Philly steak, peppers and onions, and Mac n cheese and delicious! The meat was cooked just right and pasta was the perfect amount of cheesy. Definitely was a unique burrito experience, but I would do it again.Got a side of chips and queso and this were both good as well. Really liked the flavor of their chips which I believe our made in-house.Quick and friendly service further bolster this dining experience.
Tacos are small, theyre fine if you want to try a variety but the burritos are the way to go. Ive never had anything bad from here, the nachos are great, the toppings are always fresh and crunchy. The fish taco was really good, but my favorite is the Kentucky style BBQ beef and the bring the heat. The tortillas are always soft and stretchy. The brisket in the Kentucky barbecue is very tender, and the combination of flavors is delicious, the tanginess of the horseradish and pickled onion with the sweetness of the barbecue ... So good. I dont even like pickled onions but on that everything together with them is so good. The combination of flavors in the bring the heat is so Tangy and fresh, the cilantro, lime, and jalapeno together... Delicious. Although the ground beef is often over salted in my opinion. Overall its fantastic fresh food.
I ordered a nachoritto with brisket, and it showed up not just missing the brisket, but missing any protein altogether. It was basically nothing but rice stuffed into a burrito shell. I tried to get in touch with them, but there are only two options: A phone number that lets you leave a message (can’t talk to a real person) or an email address. I left a voicemail, then sent a follow up email with a picture of my burrito that was missing the main ingredient. No response from either. I know restaurants are dealing with a lot, but $16 is a lot to shell out for an order missing a major component, and then no response/realistic way to contact the restaurant.
Stopped in after a day of kayaking. The setup is nice.We liked how you didnt have to wait to order and you could just pay right at the ordering station.Staff was friendly.Food was SUPER GOOD!!!-1 star because the table wobbled, the only napkins we could find were in the bathroom, and the floors were super sticky (not for a lack of cleanliness but rather way too much cleaning product left on floors)
I’m a first time customer but not the last! Normally we order from Moe’s (love their nachos and queso) but thought we wouldtry a local, non chain eatery. The delivery was quick and the food delicious! We order the beef burrito (which was plenty big), crispy fish taco and nachos.. Although I would have liked more “dry” chips (took a chance ordering nachos delivery), we’re more about the quality and the ingredients Cantina 62 used were tasty and very fresh! 👍🏼👍🏼 We’ll be back! TY!
Ordered delivery for dinner tonight originally got 2 chicken tacos and a potato taco and my mom got a salad her salad was watery and runny and the tacos I had were horrible. 95% was lettuce and tomatoes and hardly any chicken to make it worse the chicken was cold and the whole thing felt like it came straight out of the fridge. Definetly wont be ordering from here again
1st of all ordering here is all messed up. You place your order on an iPad. I highly doubt it was sanitized. 2nd - we ordered 3 classic beef tacos and 1 classic with steak. All of our beef was not only dry, crunchy AND burnt, but cold. The steak was cold as well. There were 3 very young kids running the place all giggling and staring at us while they made our food. We should have known better and just left. When they were in Lackawanna everything was delicious, no complaints. Now its VERY disappointing. Never again.
I like this place but why are the hours so messed up? Their voicemail says open til midnight, Google says open until 10, their Website says accepting orders until 9:44 yet its 3 or 4 straight Tuesdays that I cant place an order around 9pm. 8:54pm today and their site isnt taking orders. Literally trying to give you money but unless you stay open for your stated hours, its very difficult.
Usually I have a great experience there but this time not. I ordered a rice bowl and a large order of churro to go. The churro did not have the chocolate sauce and the rice bowl.... not as expected. 9$ for the churro. I did call to let them kow and the guy who answered said thanks for letting us know....That is all. No offer for another order. Nothing.
So it’s really nice to have a Mexican Restaurant near us. Tonight I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas smothered in sour cream. First the price was really good for the amount they have. As of the flavor. Outta this world. So if your looking for a Mexican Restaurant in south of Buffalo stop here. You won’t regret it.
The worst Mexican food I have tried thus far. I am so surprised at all the good reviews. The shrimp and chicken were dreadfully under seasoned, the guacamole was flavorless and the tacos were small and overpriced. The only good thing out of our items was the bottled drink. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, I wouldn’t go here.
The food is always delicious but the service keeps going down. This is the second time Ive ordered for delivery and part of my order was missing. Since covid you cant call and talk to a person so my husband had to drive there to get half of our order which defeated the whole reason of getting it delivered. The worst part of this order is that we had tacos with beef and tacos with impossible (vegan), the vegan taco was put in the same box as the beef tacos. Starting to second guess if I should order from here again
I ordered from the Maple Rd. location for a late lunch. We used the online ordering process and went well. Pick up went well. When I got home it was difficult to figure out what taco was what. They were all boxed together, nothing was labeled. My build my own taco was good, the brisket was very fatty. The grease needed to be drained. The meat was cold. The Cilantro Shrimp was prepared well. The original mac and cheese was nice and creamy. There was one item missing 😢. Overall I stick with a 3/5. I will go back and try in a month or so.
Its alright, maybe just not my thing, but seems to be lacking personality to the restaurant itself and the food here. I dont mean this as an insult, but maybe constructive criticism as to add some flair to the experience. The food is good, but it is exactly what it says. You can almost deconstruct most things here and separate them entirely for each ingredient, and eating them all separately would almost taste the same as eating most things as the combined product such as a burrito. Which again, isnt a bad thing. Its very clean food, and very not messy, it might just not be for me.
Ordered for the first time today. If I could have given 0 stars I would have. Our order was as simple as simple can be. 2 tacos with cheese and sour cream only, which came loaded with lettuce. 2 beef tacos with cheese and tomatoes, came loaded with sour cream. If you can’t handle simple instructions then find other employment. When I tried calling them, all I got was an answering machine. Been waiting 30 minutes for a call back but nothing. HORRIBLE customer service and will never buy food from there again
Would rather talk to another employee than to help with our ordering since the iPad was having issues. Waited a couple minutes while he continued “training” the guy instead of taking the opportunity to train the guy good customer service by showing customer comes first. We left. No one else in there at all 3-4 employees and we were the only customers.
Could have been a singular poor experience ? Not greeted, completely absent of energy, staff looked like they didnt enjoy being there. Tacos mostly rice. Over all a hands down... Atmosphere looked very appealing, beautiful set up but just truly lack luster experience.
In short, Cantina 62 is fine. I was excited to try this place, but after going I wasn’t blown away. I got a fish taco. It was alright. Carnita was okay as well. Guac was super acidic. Also got the Mac and cheese, plain as a side. Probably a novice move, but I didn’t find it very interesting, just like noodles and cheese with green onions, no real unique spice or taste.Ordering takes 15+ minutes so I would advise ordering ahead and picking up. Without hot sauce, i found the food is a bit boring. I would most likely go again if I ordered ahead, but I wouldn’t bring an out of town friend here, or really think about it.
Ordered a steak burrito got very little steak. Packed with all rice. If i ordered a veggie burrito it was pretty good. Mac was good and brisket taco. Chicken burrito wasnt the best, little to no meat. Charge accordingly if your gonna upcharge for meat. First and last time going.
Consistency is a huge issue. Half of the time it’s amazing, the other half it’s terrible and/or the order is wrong. I’ve ordered food here nine times, but it’s not worth the gamble anymore. Emailed the owner to give him a chance before leaving a bad review, but never got a response.Update: The lure of a good nachorrito overtook my better judgement and we ordered here again. Our rice bowl was missing the chicken (a $3 addition), the impossible in my nachorrito tasted like a generic meat substitute (very dry with a funky flavor), and everything was cold despite picking it up right on time and only living 1/2 mile away. That’s now 10 times ordering here and 6 have been bad.
Soo. This is my first time reviewing a restaurant other than designating a “star rating” and going on my way. But today I decided that perhaps Cantina 62 needed a bit more than that. I’ve been frequenting ( and recommending to friends) since they were located in Lackawanna. The quality of food and customer service at that location was STELLAR ! Since their move to Seneca St ( and also due to increased exposure to a larger audience) the quality of their products and service have declined greatly. At the start of the pandemic the public was urged to support local restaurants by continuing to patronize them by ordering delivery or takeout. I did so. Along with many others.. And then the inevitable happened.. once they had secured our help ( and money) they didn’t need to bother with customer satisfaction. “Take what we give you and like it.” I have ordered five times delivery and four times the order was incorrect! Now when I order I generally order for my family unit. It’s not cheap. After contacting the restaurant directly after one of these encounters of an incorrect order , I was subjected to a young lady’s thinly veiled annoyance that I had the nerve to waste her time by asking that my order be remade. Fast forward to today.. I’m in the area and I became wistful. Thinking back on the tacos of old lol! Ordered delivery. Guess what ? ORDER WRONG AGAIN.. Tried to call and now the phone has prompts to leave a message that they will get back to you at their convenience.. I guess they are unavailable to address anyones complaint.. I also tried emailing.. zilch. Anyway, this is my tale. Perhaps Cantina 62 will use this review as constructive criticism.. or not. Either way I will no longer patronize this establishment.
I’d say 3stars is more than generous for the service we receive when ordering through the online store or delivery apps such as door dash but they only deserve 2. We have been ordering throughout the pandemic and it really comes down to luck of the draw when ordering honestly. 50% of the time we get exactly what we order which is amazing food and the other 50% it’s just wrong. Today we ordered Vegan Nachos and a Burrito; first off, the nachos were smothered in Nacho Cheese so what’s the point of ordering Vegan if you can even prepare it properly. Secondly, they didn’t even send the burrito that was ordered today and third how are we supposed to file a complaint for our order when they never answer their phone or look at the messages that our left. This is subpar behavior for operating a business with multiple reoccurring problems when it comes to ordering.
Yes my order was delivered within 20 minutes however.... it was delivered cold. Then, they forgot the chips & queso. We had to go pick up the queso n chips so that was cool because apparently they don’t want to answer the phone and u have to leave a message. The food was all cold. All of it. And, if you order anything that says steak, understand, you’re getting ground up steak ums. No steak. For $30 this food wasn’t even close to mediocre. The Spanish rice is just white rice with tomatoes and black beans tossed on it. The Vegan taco fries are soggy and have NO taco taste whatsoever. The whole experience was terrible.
My husband and I keep wanting to love it here because its so close, but we just cant. Weve been at least six times in the past year. 1/3 of the time, our meals are absolutely amazing! However, the other 2/3 of the time our meals are horrible. The rice hasnt been cooked properly, and there are crunchy grains that hurt my teeth (more than a few times). Weve had our orders done totally wrong as well. Its just too expensive to not get a satisfying meal. I wish every time it was as delicious as we know it can be, but its not worth the gamble!!
The chicken bowl was 3/4 white rice, boiled chicken a small amount of pico and shredded cheese and little flavor. We were missing a burrito and an order of guacamole. Once we realized (brought order home) and called back no one answered or called us back. Very disappointed and we would never order from (Seneca St location) there again.
Extremely upset with Cantina 62. Have ordered from this restaurant before and had no issues whatsoever. Recently placed a $51 order through DoorDash and when I received my order I was missing a burrito and every rice bowl that we ordered was made completely incorrect. Normally we would not complain and just eat what we got, but due to specific dietary needs and food allergies every bowl was inedible. Naturally I called to just reorder and see what they could do because online it said they were open till 9pm. But when I called it said they were already closed. Thankfully DoorDash was able to refund the entire amount and super helpful, but overall very upset with how our food was or for the lack of better terms wasn’t prepared correctly at all.
I eat lightlife and impossible/beyond products a lot. If this is truly an impossible brand (which is what it seems was advertised), Id be shocked. I ordered the impossible nachos. Not only was most of the cheese not melted and a weird texture, but the taste of this product was also rancid. Maybe it was a bad product and improper handling? Im not sure. I got 4 bites in gave up trying not to waste the $10 I spent. A few minutes later I had stomach cramps and nausea. Today, im still suffering (without giving too many details). The guac was fresh and the chips werent bad; So, I dont know why this was such a horrible experience. Maybe this place should not try to serve vegan/vegetarian options. I will not be going back.
It was good and I loved all the options that they had to offer. The menu is plentiful for sure. I ordered the breakfast nachos because the egg is what drew me in! Eggs are my favorite! I was so disappointed to find that there was 0 sign of any eggs on the nachos. If I would have know I wouldnt have ordered them, in fact I would have ordered a different nacho. That was very disappointing as I was expecting an egg on top and got none.I also tried the crunchy fish taco which was good but not my favorite. The buffalo shrimp was super good! I would get it again for sure. The cilantro shrimp was good as well as shrimp is one of my favorites!!! The bbq pork taco was AMAZING!!!! I would go back for that alone!!!! All in all it was good and reasonably priced as I got 4 tacos and nachos for 25 bucks but I was very disappointed in the breakfast nachos.
A group of about 8 of us arrived fairly late on a Monday evening after attending the Slow Roll Bike Ride. They staff were kind enough to let us bring a few bikes inside while we ate, as we hadnt all brought locks and didnt want to leave them on the bike racks on the cars. I will also add that despite them locking up immediately after we left, not once did a staff member rush us or even suggest they were closing soon, which I thought was particularly gracious to a large, boisterous gang of cyclists trying to get dinner before the ride back home to Buffalo. Each of us ordered a couple items each, and we rather overwhelmed the 3 folks who were working. Each item is made to order, except for the chips and sauces, so the crew had to hustle. We very much enjoyed the Mexican mac and cheese, and they were willing to put the chorizo on the side so my vegetarian partner and I could share the dish. The cheese sauce was creamy and quite satisfying, and the green onions on top with cilantro was delicious. The fish taco I had was okay, nothing amazing, but the pulled pork one was much better. That was full of flavor and overflowing with the filling that some spilled out as I ate it.My friend had both her soft taco shells seared and blackened in spots-- but she ate the filling out of them. Two friends complained that the rice in their dishes was hard and seemed to be the scrapings from the bottom of a pot that was slightly overcooked, but another friend said that she enjoyed the crunch in her Spanish rice. The two most disappointing items were the guacamole and the street corn. The guacamole tasted like something mass produced, and the street corn was bitter, blackened and burnt tasting and far too chewy. It tasted like the used week old field corn, and then burned it. Still, most of the food was good, and again, the staff worked hard to get the food out fast so that the last couple folks werent eating by themselves because everyone else had finished.
The best mexican food bar none. Will be coming back. Had the grilled shrimp tacos with a hit of their hot sauce was great.Update: they stopped making their own chips so the taste of the food is slot different. Not saying its bad but its not fresh anymore....too bad I used to love this place.
The new location is great. I enjoy that I can order a lot of the items on the menu vegetarian/vegan with substitutions. My husband really enjoyed the queso. The rice and beans, though simple, was something I found really delicious. It had some fresh cilantro in it for flavor.
Just an FYI for all vegans, if you order a “Just Veggies” burrito without tomatoes or guacamole, you’ll get a tortilla wrapped around only lettuce. Literally just shredded lettuce with some sauce. No rice, no sautéed veggies. Just lettuce. My fiancé also ordered nachos without cilantro, but there was cilantro on them anyway.I emailed management to express my concerns and never heard back, so I am restoring to a public review.
The server who was working at the time we went was very kind and friendly. They bring the food to your table and even clean it up for you which is nice. Food was great and the prices were decent. The roasted potatoes and corn protein choice was good but very spicy, so if you cant handle the heat then I dont recommend that choice.
Very disappointed with this place . Would not take our gift certificates. The claim they will extend the expiration date. To me this is unacceptable. I did not purchase gift certificates to carry around. I expect to be able to use them. These gift certificates were purchased several months ago. They have an expiration date of Sept 2020. When will we be able to use them ? There was no info given to my husband other than you were not accepting gift certificates at this time. Went to your Facebook page as instructed and gave all the info you asked for in order to have us batched in this past weekend .So that we would have new certificates sent to my husbands email. Still nothing. We purchased these in good faith for your new business so when are you going to take Care of this ?
The service was good. But the food was horrible. I ordered the steak rice bowl with the fresco mix and i couldnt even get threw half of it.. The restaurant was very cold, I guess I was just hoping for a better experience all together.. This was my very first time visiting since they moved to South Buffalo.. And honestly I dont see myself returning.
Ordered delivery, received the wrong order (they had no names on the bag, increasing the likeliness of people getting the wrong order when picking up for takeout or delivery). I have to eat what I was given as I am on a short lunch break and found a nice piece of bone in the chopped beef. All around awful experience. Thankfully Doordash is giving me my money back. Gonna stick with Chipotle next time.
My favorite restaurant! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I love the pork tacos on corn shells bring-the-heat style. The housemafe hot sauce is delicious, the owner and servers are super nice and always read back my takeout order (which i always appreciate). I cant say enough about how much i love this little taco spot. Delicious!
This place is great! Food was amazing. I had the Nachorito and was sad I didnt have room for the whole, huge meal. I accidentally spilled an almost full glass bottle of Coke, and by the time I got back from washing my hands, the server had cleaned the mess and got me a new bottle. Great food and great service.
My husband and I just went here last night. Hes been before and raved and this was my first time. We ordered at the iPads when you walked in and waited at one of the tables for our to-go food to be done. Immediately I noticed neither one of the 2 girls preparing the food had masks on...thought that was interesting but as soon as our food was done, the one girl pulled her mask on to hand the food to us. Not sure how that makes sense, youre breathing all over peoples food but you put your mask on to hand it to them? Okay. Then when we got home and started to eat, I noticed a few things were missing, no sauce on my tacos which I requested, I also requested a side of green chili sauce and my husband ordered a side of salsa that was not there. Not a fan of the very finely shredded chicken either, it lacked flavor. Id maybe try once more, but not sold off this one time, sorry.
Great food. Got the fiesta steak and Cantina style shrimp taco. The only downside was that the fiesta steak was soggy. They arent draining the steak well enough but the juices are amazing so its not terrible Haha. Everything is well seasoned and the veggies are great. Also got the taco fries and the queso is awesome
Chicken taco was extremely salty. Street corn was much improved from last time. Update: went to the new location at Sheas on Seneca. Great atmosphere, quick efficient service, friendly staff and most of all, great tacos! We were there today and had a few different varieties. They were all made exactly as ordered and each was more delicious than the last. The only disappointment was that we took our order to go instead of eating at the restaurant, which was decorated nicely. Although the food still tasted great, our hard shells werent so hard when we got home.
The new place is nice but it doesnt have the character of the old place. Have been there several times since it reopened but my last visit was very disappointing the food was mediocre at best, the guacamole was bland and so was the salsa. Prices are higher too, I wouldnt mind if food was great but its not. It was Cinco de Mayo but still no matter how busy you are you food should be consistent . I must add this, the food has always been excellent in the past so I will return again my 2 stars was just for my visit on May 5th. Best of luck. We have returned here several times since my original post and the food has been amazing. So Im giving them 5 stars. Thank u
Aweful food and awful customer service. I got a rice bowl, the rice was super undercooked. It was hard and inedible and it was watery at the bottom of the rice bowl, gross! I also got a taco it was cold. I called to see why and every call goes automatically in to a voicemail.
Not great - service was lacking and had a very long wait to order. Tables were dirty and not cleared of previous diners plates/food. The one server there seemed very overworked and definitely was overwhelmed even on what looked to be a slow night. Food was mediocre at best. Pretty greasy and not very fresh tasting. Probably wont return.
Rude workers, the food that I was able to take a bite out of tasted worse than a bland microwaved burrito. Creama tasted bad, lettuce was wilted, beef was dry and flavorless and the cilantro was Brown and wilted. The only positive aspect of my visit was the flour taco, which had more flavor than the ingredients I removed.
Very dissapointed in the food i got. I ordered through grub hub. I wanted a taco salad. On line when i ordered it showed d that it was in a edible bowl bit it came in a box i called the resterant but was basically told to bad. I wont order again.. Apparently keeping customers happy and coming back isnt s priotity. The person who answered the phone could have done something to make up for it
This was my 1st time here and I was totally impressed by the great variety ,great quality and generous portions of the delicious tacos I tried. I had the American fish, barbacoa and the shrimp. My wife tried the beef on weck taco and a chicken. She really didnt care for the beef on weck ....I think it needed horseradish. The place is bright and new and a good addition to Seneca St. in South Buffalo. It is in the newly restored and refurbished Sheas Theatre.
I really wanted to love this place since it is close to home, but I couldnt. I am vegetarian and got the nachos, but when I saw a mystery crispy meat at the bottom of the plate, my boyfriend and I immediately left in disgust. My boyfriend said his $10 burrito shouldve cost $3...
We ordered a side of guacamole & chips (3.50), and with it being a Mexican restaurant, I would have assumed it was made fresh. However, the woman working the register went to a side mini fridge behind the register and grabbed a pre-filled container of guacamole and a pile of chips to hand us. Guacamole was not fresh. It had a brownish tint to it, almost as if it was made two days ago. I wouldnt order that again.
Make sure they’re actually opened before you order (even if their google hours say they’re open). I made this mistake recently and was charged for food when they were closed. No refund - I called and left a voicemail and no follow up either. Disputed the charge w my cc company and voila - got suspended on postmates. Thanks folks!
Wait is long, regardless of how many people are in, food is lackluster - what is listed on the menu is not what is delivered (see: beef barbacoa as an example - unsure if restaurant knows what beef barbacoa actually IS...). I have no issue with a $4 taco, but it should at least taste good and be consistent...
Id like to thank Cantina 62 for catering my sons baptism. The presentation of the food made everything look just delicious. The pork was above and beyond amazing while the beef and chicken was not far behind. They provided everything you could need from various sauces, chips with salsa, jalapeno peppers, cheese, sour cream, beans, a grated cheese, cabbage with lime juice, lettuce, and more. Thank you for making the busy day a bit easier on us.
Normally a great place to eat Ive been there once a week for the last 2 months only had one minor hiccup they are attentive friendly good is always great tasting and great value I recommend the pork with bring the heat my wife loves the reuben taco she orders one every trip my kids love drawing on the tablecloth its just a fun time! Good good good people good music good beer at a price that wont have you up set... What more could you ask for! Im sold call me a regular!
HiGreat food and our server (a male) was top notch. I my opinion, they should all be that way. Believe me I have seen servers either make or brake a restaurant. I think this place finally found its home in Lackawanna and I think its here to stay. I pray.Maybe down the line you could spruce up the restaurant part to look a bit more welcoming to potential customers. Just a thought.
Had ordered shortly after they opened. Almost 2 hours later they refund my money with no explanation. I tried to call but you cant talk to anyone. Found their instagram page to figure out why and the following screenshot is their response. When I asked to speak to a manager for poor customer service, I was told that they wouldnt be able to assist me any further and told me to go to another taco joint.
This just opened up at the new Shea’s Senca complex, which I’ve been waiting for with bated breath. To have something fun, cool, and modern, is an answer to my prayers! In a neighborhood bereft with Irish Pubs and unglamorous options (except the Blackthorn, that is a gem) I have been wanting something fun and cool to go to since I moved to this neighborhood nine years ago. I can walk here from my house, which is a huge plus. They have reasonable prices and a loyalty rewards program which is pretty neat. They have classic Mexican fare like tacos and burritos but they also have twists in classics, like mac and cheese covered in carnitas and queso, or a cheese burger burrito. I personally like the carnitas tacos, and the chips & guac. My husband goes for the burritos, which are GIANT, and come with chips alongside it. For the money, you get a great value, especially since I can’t eat the whole thing in one sitting and always have leftovers for work the next day. It’s cute and comfy, and they have high chairs- a huge win for me. My one year old loves their carnitas and chips, so it’s great for the whole family. They have delicious lemonade and imported Coke in the bottle. My only wish is if they had a fountain soda system so I could have seltzer, or water, instead of having to buy a bottle of water- I like having my free tap water option when I’m eating. Other than that, this place is awesome.Note: After hearing that the water is only 50 cents (I never look at prices, so I assumed it was a few bucks!) AND they donate more than half to keep our water clean- I am FINE with being charged! If the bottles could be eliminated so there is less plastic waste, even better. You could charge me 50 cents for tap though and I would not mind at all- donating for clean water is a PERFECT idea when drinking water!
Not the place to go for authentic tacos but dont let this deter you! Their menu is chock full of creative, delicious taco creations. Beef on weck, reuben, buffalo shrimp, cheesesteak, basically all your favorite sandwiches in a taco form. All the ingredients taste fresh and well put together. You can also order nachos of various varieties, breakfast items, and even an adult beverage or 3 (probably other things too, but I have only had the tacos every time Ive come so far). To top it off the prices are vey reasonable! Definitely worth a visit or 10! I hope they continue to stay in business.
My wife and I were here today June 3rd, we ordered a multiple tacos, a burrito and Chips with queso. I got the philly cheese steak taco (great flavor and tasted great), beef on weck taco (slaw had a kick and wasnt hot, great taco), and kentucky style bbq beef (yet again another great taco). My wife and I also got the adobe chicken burrito (wasnt impressed, the chicken was tender and moist but they used to much seasoning and caused the chicken to be to salty). Finally the girl that was working up front was amazing and she was very knowledgeable about the business and the menu, she was very kind and respectful.... We will be returning just wont be ordering chicken next time
I made plans for my mom and I to visit the Basilica. As we waited for our tour we discovered Cantina 62. Nice little find with stunning views of Our Lady Victory. This place only opened in November, and it already has 5 reviews! Its definitely an up and coming place. Taco menu is simple. Choose a meat. Choose taco style. Choose shells. I wanted a more street style topping so I picked cantina fresco. My mom choose classic 62 which is the more simple cheese, lettuce, tomatoes etc. The tacos were packed full of meat! They dont scrimp on fillings. If you like fish, I would suggest it! It was my favorite of the 3 I tried. I also would recommend the corn shells. They double them up so they dont tear on you.We also had an order of guacamole and chips. The guac tasted very fresh and was sprinkled with cilantro and some tomato. Cant beat fresh guacamole. This place definitely lived up to my expectations! Good food, affordable and really friendly staff working there. They also have a breakfast menu and accept credit cards. So if you are looking for a new local taco joint to try then make it Cantina 62!
As a Buffalonian through and through, who lived in Los Angeles for 13 years and spent many, many weekends in Todos Santos, just south of Ensenada and I’ve driven the entire Baja peninsula who grew to know, love enjoy and savor GREAT MEXICAN FOOD. This small piece of Heaven in my native South Buffalo is beyond great and I’m super glad to get very good Mexican food here. Thank You.
Beyond annoying that they didnt even have the courtesy to change their voicemail to explain whether they are even open or not during this pandemic (or what their hours are.) Every single piece of information on their webiste is entirely misleading. It appears as though they are open for order through grub hub or their webiste and they are not! Never again! You have 8 people living right down the street who will likely never order from you bc of this...youre probably strugglingng bc your a small local businesses, whoever is running this place has no clue!
I come here quite a bit. Sometimes its great and sometimes not. inconsistent. The food is good and the service is good, but a few times they are out of ingredients or menu items, i have found chunks of food in my queso (the queso is awesome). potential for a 5 star place... but it has not yet hit that mark
The customer service was amazing the guy in the front did really well to make us feel like we got everything we needed but the food was average felt like I could of done it Better at home and saved alot more and got alot more for my dollar. I wont be going back food is definitely not worth it!!!
Menu says you can turn a taco into a burrito. Doesnt mention it takes the $4.50 taco and tacks on $7.25 to wrap the same amount of gristly taco meat in pita bread. The beef on weck burrito was $11.75 for something one third the size of a beef on weck from Steves down the road which is like $7 with meat thats tender and juicy.

2021-12-30Ill have to try to eat in instead these tacos are mixed together and badly packaged.I wont comment on the food until I can get product that looks edible. We have to do better as cooks hosts and delivery drivers this is really avoidable.

2022-05-08Food is super inconsistent. Ive gotten it perfect, Ive gotten it super greasy, and tonight Ive gotten the dryest beef possible.Taco bell has better quality control...wild

2021-11-18Vegan Options.I would like to try the different locations because the Vegan options here are pretty good but they don’t seem focus to people who dines in.They are having so much fun having a conversation which is great but multi tasking would have been great.I ordered for here but they gave me a To Go order. The Burrito I had is impossible to eat without getting your hand all nasty from the cheese all over it.Maybe it’s just this location that is not ideal for a dine in because there’s no service at all that you look for a restaurant. But I liked the food that I got at least.

2022-01-09Hit or miss. More often than not, miss. Just ordered a regular Nachorrito with Impossible meat, received a vegan Nachorrito with unmelted vegan cheese on top... No sofrito, no queso, no sour cream, and burnt chips. Inside the burrito was rice and a scoop of Impossible meat. Are you kidding me at $17?

2021-07-20Love this place. If you enjoy Mexican food. I know it seems ridiculous because its in a gas station...But you have to check out cantina 62. Amazing. The ordering process is awkward, no doubt about it. And remember youre standing in a gas station. I hear theres another one of these downtown, might have to check it out. Second time I ordered online, got a coupon for $5 off. So definitely worth exploring that.Had a carnitas taco wonderful, little bit of heat but nothing deadly. Guacamole is fresh, and to the point. I dont like it when lots of extra stuff is thrown in the guacamole. Also had a rice and beans, full of grilled peppers and onions and topped with cheese.

2022-04-07Ordered takeout, pickup at 8:30. Google said they close at 10, so did their website. Drove out to pick up my order and they had closed at 8:00. Standing out in the rain looking into a vacant building. If you change your hours, make sure you post it. I wont be making the same mistake twice by ordering again.

2021-10-18This place has amazing food. My only criticism is the amount of chips they give with an order of queso or salsa is skimpy. That amount of chips for that amount of queso is just not enough. I didnt buy the queso to drink, once we get through the chips they gave us, the rest gets tossed. The same goes for the smaller sizes, there just arent enough chips!

2022-05-25In a city full of solid options for Mexican food, I will never have this again. My Royal taco was only beef and had a grittiness to it that seemed like sand? I couldnt make it more than 4 bites into the BBQ Pork Quesarrito, which was disappointing, because the description seemed so good. The only decent item was the beef barbacoa taco. Would much rather have TCB, Aquacates, Casa Azul, the list goes on...
