Great company ! This company definitely goes out there way to make sure all is satisfied not only do they tow cars but they help move my couch to new apartment and they didnt have to thank you so much !
During the pandemic my car was towed by and to Capital District Towing. Without the key, the car had a mishap. The Owner, Pete, assessed the damage and immediately took care of the issue.I appreciate his prompt response and professionalism in resolving the issue. This was the best tire changing help I have ever experienced. We blew a tire in Albany on our horse trailer with two horses on around midnight. We did not have a spare. Nothing open anywhere and the police hooked us up with this towing company and they went above and beyond for us. They managed to find a spare tire on a horse trailer they had that would fit our trailer, put it on ours and had us on our way home in short order. We were still 5 hours from home. Also, they were very reasonable on the price. They are just the best.
Our car was stuck — battery was dead and flatbed from another company suggested getting it on the flatbed would ruin transmission. I called Capital District Towing. They were courteous and respectful, gave an accurate time estimate, were incredibly professional on arrival and were able to transport our vehicle pulled by a tow truck without damage to transmission. They made a bad night not too bad at all! Thank you, Tim!
Hooked up my car even i was standing on the spot ! Tow Driver would not listen to cops even, to release the car and insisted to get paid on the spot.Very poor workmanship just to make money out of people.Good Luck !

I had a great experience, and the driver and customer service were friendly and easy to work with. It was a Saturday evening that the car broke down, so I had to leave the car on the lot till Monday when the full service shops opened. They worked with the insurance company to get them to cover the total cost.
So, locked my keys in my car ... Spent 2 hours calling everyone I could including my insurance company and it was impossible to find anyone to help me until I called these guys. Came to me in 15 minutes and helped me out so fast and was very professional and respectful. Best towing company for sure!

Best tow company in the Albany area. After 2 days of Allstate roadside assistance being unable to find me a tow I called Capital district. I had used them in the past. The owner Peter always has someone ready to help you in a time of need. The driver TJ showed quick on a Sunday afternoon and was awesome. He had our car on the flatbed in no time. Highly recommended.

Huge shout out to Chandler. He had my car on the bed in quick order. He also was knowledgeable about my model car specifically and he knows how to drive manual (big plus). I felt awful about needing a tow but his attitude was great and made me feel a lot better about the whole situation. I needed the delivery address changed last minute and they did it for me no problem, no questions asked, not even any frustration. I really want to emphasize how much I appreciated the positive mental attitude and professionalism from Chandler and those I dealt with on the phone. Its been a rough 24 hours and they helped lower the stress a lot just by being chill. I would use this business again and I would recommend it to a friend.
One of the best towing services I have experienced. Zach (truck driver) was timely and responsive. Within an hour he arrived and towed our company diesel van (20 minutes on a Saturday night). He then was happy to meet us the next day and towed the vehicle all the way from Guilderland to Northern VT. So thankful for him and the team at Capital!!

After originally being quoted by my insurance company over a 90 minute ETA for a tow, I insisted my insurance company call CDT. I knew CDT would be faster and every minute counts when sitting on the side of the row with a suburban full of kids. Zach arrived quicker than the quoted time. He was professional and quick to get the job done.
We were looking to have a newly purchased, privately sold camper moved locally from one campground to another. Pete personally, and quickly, returned my initial telephone call when trying to gather information on services offered, price, time frames etc...I was very pleased with his camper knowledge, his process for camper moves, fair prices, and his eagerness to work with us. As such, we decided to utilize his services and were even more pleased upon completion of the camper move. He was on time, came very well prepared, and even helped us with stabilizing and leveling of the camper once it arrived at our campground. I would highly recommend his services to anyone, and we will be utilizing his expertise and services for any future needs.

We used Capital District Towing to tow our 32 foot fifth wheel to our seasonal site and could not have been more happy with the service. Pete was a pleasure to work with. He is extremly knowledgeable and professional! He took his time, explained things if we had questions, made sure we were happy with the placement of the camper and assisted in the leveling process. Amazing customer service!!! I broke down an hour away from home(Mass), not only did the compassionate driver give me a deal, but he brought me home with my vehicle. He even grabbed me a drink. I’m going to be honest, I was stuck in Albany and this guy had to towed back down to Poughkeepsie and he honestly offered me the best deal I can find. Everyone else wanted more Money but this business charges a reasonable and he will even talk to you and make you forget the your situation with your car. Fun guy to talk to and honestly I can’t believe I’m saying this but best towing experience service I ever dealt with in a bad situation of my car not working.
Our trailer lost a hub at night in the rain just a few hundred yards from our destination. We were on a long trip and still had some days of travel in front of us. Capital District was there very quickly, got our trailer to the parking lot of our hotel, and followed up the next day with suggestions on how to get it repaired. Tim was professional, friendly, and very helpful.

We had a large vehicle in a difficult position, and the tow operators were able to bring it out and tow it to the specific location we wanted. Also, they were patient enough to wait for us to find the right key to unlock our gate. Would 100% recommend.

Needed an abandoned car towed off our business property. Excellent customer service from the time I called (Nick). Our experience with Capital District Towing this past week was beyond incredible. They were willing to haul us 200 miles out of a tough spot, on short notice at 6pm. Capital District Towing stuff are angels.After a traumatizing accident this afternoon near Albany airport, they came towed my car. A young women named Emma came to me, explained what’s gonna happened. She was very friendly and patient, she said come to my office, you will feel comfortable and she bring a bowl of water for my dog.I realized she must notice how clueless and shocking I was, she treated me with her warmth and gentleness. After found out that I had an option to rent car paid my insurance ( Emma made all the calls) but I didn’t felt like to drive, she did not treated it just like a job, instead she really try to think anyway she could help me until magically they got a towing call in my area so they decided to drive me and my dog home in Hillsdale NY. T.J so kindly drove me and my dog to my door. They really just want to help.I could had a very different experience this afternoon after a shocking accident but because those people who helped me in this company changed my whole experience from a total desperation to felt delighted. They are warm, down to the earth people, I felt so much calmer because how they treated a stranger with their true generosity. On my move from Chicago to Cape Cod, my car overheated while my sister and I were driving on the NY State thruway. Around Albany my car became undrivable. It was a Sunday night, my sister and I made it to a gas station with my car, and were on the phone with Progressive Insurance Roadside Assistance for 3 hours. After not getting the help we needed my sister researched local tow truck companies. We came across Capitol District Towing and Zach answered the phone right away. We tried to work with my insurance and when they would not help, Zach assured us that he would be able to work with me paying out of pocket to get a 4 hour tow truck drive home to Cape Cod. He agreed to tow my car and my sister and myself. Zach was our savior that night, he made the trip home for us finishing my move home back east so painless. He could not have been kinder, he made us feel so safe and comfortable. I honestly could not be more thankful for Zach and this company. The patience and willingness to just help was what made me so impressed with this company! I will forever know if I ever need help who to call!

Peter was very helpful when one of my company cars’ battery died. I called multiple businesses and he was the only one who gave me a fair price. Not only that...instead of immediately just towing the car, he figured out what was wrong with my battery and fixed it. Turns out I didn’t need it towed. He charged me a very reasonable service fee. He saved me hundreds of dollars. Very honest, professional, and reliable. If you’re in the area and in need of car/towing services...he’s your guy!
I had a tire flat on I90 while going through Albany - 830pm on a Friday evening. My car is extremely low to the ground and has no spare - both of these attributes made my situation quite desperate.I called Capital District Towing and while they were extremely busy, Peter Cary actually returned my call as he said he would and took care of my car in expert fashion. I have never written a google review before but his wonderful customer service allowed me to make it home safe and sound. He is a class act - honest and straightforward.
The dedication this gentleman has for his jjob is absolutely over the top!! I would never want this to happen to anyone but especially for a woman as young as myself being stranded with out a phone can be very Scary! Peter was my last Resort after calling AAA with a strangers phone and finding out my membership expired last month and then calling 911 and finding out the police no longer are allowed to unlock cars google was my last option and Peter was the first person to answer... I made the phone call at 11:33 he answered he was very concerned for my safety was super straight forward with the cost and time he told me he would get to me in less then 30 min and by 11:56 my car was unlocked and running!!! Tim really saved the day. My girlfriend and I had been living in the area for all of 1 hour, and my clutch blew as we were out picking up food. He got to my car way faster than we had expected, and made sure to recommend a local mechanic to fix up my car. He was very professional and understanding of our situation. As we got out of the truck, my girlfriend literally said That man was an angel... lol.

Our car broke down two hours from home late last night and we called Capital District given the great reviews online. Liz came to our rescue about a half hour after we called (we were a half hour drive away!) and we were BLOWN away with the professionalism and kindness she showed my family and I. We had two young children in the backseat and she took such great care of us…………highly recommended.

My 1 Ton dump truck broke down in Schenectady and I had called several local towing services near Schenectady and each towing company said they couldn’t help me out. So I had googled and found Capital District Towing in Albany NY. A very friendly gentleman named Peter answered phone and heard about The situation I was in and he had driven out and got to me within a half hour and was gone in ten minutes with my dump truck on his flatbed. My car was stuck in park and therefore difficult to tow. TJ, my driver, went out of his way to carefully load it on the flatbed and, even more difficult, get it off without damaging the asphalt at my mechanics shop. Also nice to talk to during the drive. A+ job!

I had called a different towing company prior to calling capital district. This unnamed towing company said it would be over an hour to get to me for a battery boost and I was on the same street they were located. After waiting half an hour I found capital district towing phone number and called. The gentleman said that he had a driver out and he would be there in a few Minutes. I was a little skeptical but within 10 minutes they showed up. The gentleman that helped us was Parker. He was friendly and very helpful and even stayed a few minutes after car was started to make sure it didn’t die again. Capital district towing is very lucky to have this guy. My car got stuck in a muddy ditch & my sister and I both calling places to help me out.. we both called Peter at the same time lol.. he heard the situation & asked us if we wanted him to come out which we needed assistance ASAP I had my baby & my kid son in the car & it was about 930 @ night.. he said he’ll be there in 15 minutes & was there exactly then!!! Where do I start!? I had the honor of been rescued not once, but twice tonight by CDT amazing staff Liz. She was absolutely phenomenal , professional and personable. In my attempt to flee a stalker tonight, I forgot to stop by for gas. This led me to get stranded by the roadside, still in dismay from eluding my stalker I completely forgot that I was low on gas. Anyways Liz, came in towed my car and suggested to take me to a nearest gas station in effort to be cost effective to me, she didn’t have to make that suggestion at all, but she did ! After she took me to the gas station , at this point, I was extremely tired, hungry and still in shocked from my day, at this point I forget allll my belongings in her truck ! I didn’t realize I did that until I got home, I quickly called their number thinking I will have to drive all the way back to their office in Albany to retrieve my stuff, but guess who was in my neighborhood looking to return my belongings at almost 11p?? Excellent service. Returned my call right away & showed up when they said they would. They offered to repair my wheel at their shop. Wheel was not repairable but gave me a fair price for the service. When I showed up next day to pick up trailer two employees helped me load the broken trailer without hesitation.

I highly recommend Capital district towing Service in Albany. On a long trip from Florida back to Montreal, my car broke down at Trader Joe’s in Albany. Despite all the aggravation entailed with this breakdown I have only good things to say about this Towing company and the people who work there. Peter Cary the Director of Operations went out of his way to ensure that I was a happy customer despite my ordeal. Elizabeth Rosenbaum who drove the lift was also delightful and a kind person who helped turn a bad situation into a memory of the kindness of people. If my car ever breaks down again, I hope it will be in Albany, a city filled with lovely, kind and understanding people- from the customers at trader joes who had to wait patiently in the parking lot while my car got towed, the employees at trader joes who redirected traffic, the gentleman who knocked on my car window trying to help me and the woman who’s car got hit in the freak accident offering us food as we waited to have everything sorted out.
Our car broke down while our son was on his way to VT on a Friday night - we (from NJ) called Capital District Towing to tow the car and hold it overnight until we could get to Albany on Saturday.What a pleasure it was working with these folks - so accommodating and helpful - they helped us try to diagnose the problem and ultimately suggested a UHaul with trailer for us to get it home (great suggestion). Dave helped us get it on the trailer - really above and beyond - to get us on our way.Thank you so much - you made a difficult situation so much easier!! 5 star service
Capital District Towing is always at the top of my go to list when my fleet has problems in the Albany region. They are always prompt and fair in pricing. But what really sets them apart is their customer service. I had a fleet vehicle that broke down on Christmas Eve just outside of Albany as the guys were on their way home to Syracuse. I was in a panic because even if I got them towed off the side of the road, how were they going to get home?! All of the car rental locations (excluding the airport) had already closed and no tow truck in their right mind would tow it back to Syracuse on Christmas Eve. Peter at Capital District went above and beyond for us. He had my guys and van picked up within 30 minutes of my call, stored our vehicle for the holiday, towed it to our preferred repair shop, AND had a rental vehicle on his own card he was able to let our guys drive home and get back for Christmas with their families!!! And the pricing is beyond reasonable. Trust me, I run a fleet of 130 and deal with a lot of tow companies all over and there are none that compare.
AMAZING SERVICE. They are honest and reliable. If they tell you they are coming for, you bet they will be there in time.My car broke on the side of the highway and called them. The lady that answered said that they dont have anyone available but the owner overheard our conversation and said he was going to come help me. He said he will be there in 30 minutes and arrived in 25. They are professional and fast.

My car was stolen in Menands Friday. By Saturday at 11 the police called to ttell me it was found undamaged. Capital District Towing was very professional and called me when the police were done processing fingerprints. How many towing companies do that?

Capital showed up in 20 minutes! The other towing company (Albany Towing) had promised to tow our vehicle but never showed up after almost 2 hours. Capital did the job with no problems.

I was driving next to one of CDTs tow trucks on i90, in not perfect weather conditions, and you would have thought they considered themselves ruler of the road. I had to switch two lanes to exit the highway, in the process of attempting this, he matches my speed and boxes me in. I sped up and got in front as I needed to go one more lane over, and my exit was approaching. I clearly showed my blinker from the middle lane, and that needed to get off the highway. He then proceeds to speed up and cut me off twice while trying to exit. I then watched him tailgate the vehicle he fell in behind all the way through the exit ramp. Lets hope for no ice, because that persons trunk would have been demolished. I called the establishment and told them how irresponsible it was to not have courteous and professional drivers, especially during bad weather. I got a defensive reply and an unwarranted request for MY information, rather than taking accountability for his staff, or just accepting/ignoring the complaint. He did not need any of my information to identify the driver as I gave the license plate. What a joke.

If I could give Peter, 10 stars I would. I am a chauffeur for Letts Limousine Services out of Wilmington NC. While chauffeuring clients from Wilmington NC to Kinderhook NY my Stretch Limousine broke down at 10:00 pm I called 30 Tow Truck Services in the area and sat for hours in 20 degree weather no company would even attempt to help me or my clients get help however when I called Capital Towing he woke from his bed went to his shop and towed the Limousine Thank GOD, for him. Much obliged for Peters, help and assistance.

Great service, person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and even told me they might charge extra based on the location compared to a local towing company. Doesnt matter at this point tho I would rather pay the extra $20 to deal with this company.

While in Albany, driving a Enterprise cargo van,a Ford 250, upon entering Alexandria homes, residential garage,the cargo van got stuck,the overhead clearance was mis judged.After doing damage to the roof of the van,I got stuck in the middle of the garage, caught up on 3 concrete beams,I called my AAA, service,they said they couldnt help me,the I called Enterprise.After waiting a couple of hours Boone showed.I was very cold frustrated and annoyed,me and my mom stayed with the van,blocking other tenants.Never being in this situation before.My mom called Capital district towing .A wonwonnderful guy named Peter showed up.Wow,what a lifesaver.He knew exactly what to do, from beginning to end end,great customer service.Tservice.Thanks again Pete Happy holidays.

2022-06-19Good men exist in this world. What was going to be an unfortunate ending to a great weekend, turned into a humbling roadside lesson and a quick tire change from a 25 year towing veteran, who absolutely refused to take a penny from me. Pete Cary, who owns Capital District Towing in Albany, NY was headed the other direction in I-69 to a family reunion in Michigan. He saw our issue and turned around without our knowledge. He showed up and had all if the required equipment in his truck - and had us back up and running in under 20 minutes; out of the goodness of his heart. His biggest desire was to see our family back home safe. Well, thank you again so much Mr. Cary, your kindness has made my Fathers Day one to remember for sure. God bless you, and I wish you, your son and two dogs a safe trip back to NY.

2022-06-23Our tow operator James was great! he was there super fast (even though I gave him the wrong mile marker at first!), was really friendly, was thorough, safe, and got us where we needed to go. I would recommend Capital District Towing to anyone. Definitely give these guys a call if you need a tow after 5pm - good luck getting anyone else in the Albany area to pick up the phone. 5 star service.

2021-12-18My car had been towed the night before and I had lost my keys. I called around to find out about getting a new key made and find my car. When I called the guys and verified they had my car, they were extremely friendly and professional. They gave me recommendations for places to come out and make a new key. Unfortunately, it didn’t pan out and I had to get my car to the dealer to get a new key programmed. The dealer’s service department needed me there within an hour if I was going to get a new key. The guys got me there and my driver was a great conversationalist and just generally awesome. Overall, they took a very stressful and irritating day and made it far less stressful and irritating. Excellent service and very reasonably priced.

2022-06-13Brandon is his name.Towing is his fame!Brandon towed my car from Midas Colonie to my place in Albany. This cool dude steps out of his cab looking all Hollywood like, but oddly apologizing for being a little late. No biggie for me. I didnt even know he was late.Great first impression, followed with a friendly greeting and open hand. Smart young fella, polite and well spoken. Right from the jump, he wasted no time and knew exactly what to do. He carefully maneuvered that big clumsy flatbed around so could he drop my car in the spot I wanted, and then, over and above, he backed it in nose front. At 76, its hard to be confident with back-up parking. So...this cool dude, Brandon, friendly and smart, was given the huge responsibility to safely escort my classic 92 Nissan 240SX white convertible home - and lucky ol me gets the bestTow Master in Albany.
