My husband and I bought a used 2017 Toyota Sienna. Service department took car in for detail and it came out all scratched up. They attemped to repair the scratches and made it worse. They cause more damage, dented the front and scrapped the front rim. Service manager Eric Rosen was rude and lied to us about where the car was repaired. We went home with a damaged car and have to repaired car through our insurance. Shame on Capital Luxury Cars!!
One of the most insulting and disrespectful experiences I have ever encountered. Ali in service was rude and careless. Follow through and phone etiquette was mediocre at best. Business to business relations was comical. Purchased parts from their own parts department & they had to call & verify what was done to the vehicle & what parts were put on the vehicle. Next time I will suffer the charges and tow all of my sublet work to the closest Land Rover dealer in New Jersey just to avoid the headache and agony.
The leather driver seat in my 2017 FPace split this winter, which should seemingly be covered by the 60k bumper to bumper. Service manager took photos at the end of January. I have called three times since that time and have yet to be able to speak to him or even get a return phone call. Very, very disappointing. I would certainly expect better from a company that claims they are a luxury vehicle company.
This review is specifically about Marcie in the service center. People rarely take the time to acknowledge above and beyond service. Thats what I would like to do now. I brought my vehicle in to change the snow tires to all season. Checking in was easy and quick. What I want to call out is the fact that Marcie took the time to connect with me on a personal level. The front line people have the power to make or break a customers experience regardless of how the actual service goes. Her friendliness and genuine smile made my day. Thank you Marcie, you make a difference in the lives of the people you interact with. Keep up being you!
The service advisers were very helpful in scheduling my appointments and keeping me apprised of the work needed to be done to my car. In addition, they, as well as the parts department and service technicians worked with me to provide the best service within my budget constraints. The service that was provided was of good quality.
The service at Capital Luxury Cars is consummate. Kevin Davis went above and beyond to take care of my needs. I cannot say enough about the excellent service I received. The staff was very attentive and praiseworthy. It seems in these difficult times that people forget to look beyond the problem and see the person they are dealing with. Kevin and his staff did just that. I know I will be returning again and again for service to my vehicle. And when it comes time to purchase a new car, I will be knocking at their door for that also. I highly recommend this dealership and service center!!
What a fantastic car buying experience! We dealt with Selena and her team at Capital Luxury Cars. We selected our car on-line, stopped in to test drive, decided it was the one. Asked to pick it up the following day and less than 20 minutes of paperwork we drove away with our car. This is how all car buying should go.
I cannot speak to buying a car from them, but I can attest to their incompetence as to servicing cars. I have owned my Jaguar for 20 months now and I have had to bring it to them for service for two separate incidents. The first problem took two tries to fix...the second issue will be going back for the FOURTH TIME TOMORROW!!! I truly don;t understand what they do with my car when the same issue keeps coming up again and again and again! The moment this car is out of warranty, I will never bring my car back to them ever again.
So I inquired about one vehicle. A newly taken in Tahoe. Working with Lee K was great at first. Talked on the phone. I was headed into a meeting and I informed Lee to leave a message and Ill call him back, as it will be a lengthy meeting. He called me about 6 times in 2 hours, leaving 2 messages. The next day, we are looking at about 5 emails, 5 phone calls. After answering after leaving work, he has an attitude like I was the bad person. Now I noticed the Tahoe but was probably buying the RangeRover sport that is listed on the website. But I believe I will invest elsewhere. According to Lee, You will never get this vehicle cheaper. Your right Lee... I wont. Thanks to you, I wont support this company.
My Ranger Rover Sport is an 11 out of 10, the car is fantastic - best vehicle Ive ever owned. However, the local service is very choppy. Most of it is on the front end - communication is spotty, theres a persistent shortage of loaner vehicles, parts can take forever. Once you can get your car into the service bay, the mechanics are very competent. Kudos to Billy on service team who is the key man behind the curtain. Hes the straw that stirs the drink.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Ive bought many cars & this was by far the worst experience I have come across. Not impressed with any of the staff or their attention to customers. For a dealership that sells luxury cars their professionalism & overall business culture do not seem to match. If you do decide to take a chance and buy here I just pray for your sake nothing goes wrong!!!! If something does.... expect to call multiple times without a call back, then when you decide to physically show up after numerous messages expect to sit in a lobby while they figure out how to push you back out the door without any resolve, all while attending to customers who they will not service after a sale. If you want to feel like a number, and treated like trash then this is the place for you!!!Oh....... & If you want to talk to a manager they will undoubtedly be on vacation until you decide to just deal with the problem occurring with your new vehicle.
We have three older Volvos that the team at Capital help us keep running great and with good value. Jodi worked with me to provide an excellent multipoint check of one of our cars with a clear list of items to be taken care of in the near term and future. Jodi is great to work with. Kevin took the time to provide me with outstanding advice and detailed engine information when I was doing some major work on my engine on my own, all turned out very well. Bob is friendly and excellent at getting all the correct repair parts and takes the time to get it right along with plenty of information. The Capital team always calls on the expert technicians to answer any questions for me. When I do bring our cars in for service at Capital the work is done correctly and if there are any issues they are quick to correct them. Overall the Capital team is outstanding. They take the time to help me if I am doing the work myself and just looking for parts and information or if I am having Capital perform the work, and that is important to us. I recommend Capital to our friends at home and work as a great value.
Drove 90 mi. after talking to salesman. description of used car was accurate staff was very friendly and professional. after friendly bartering acceptable deal was reached. financial manager secured interest rate much better than my own credit union saving me $32/mo.dave, bob and mark were friendly, professional and worked hard to reach a deal i found acceptable.after i drove home i found a nail in a tire that cant be removed. called the dealer and as i thought, this was not covered by the warranty. in spite of this i am very pleased with the people at this dealership. i would deal with them again and recommend to others.tony fiumara
My mom and I went to look at the Volvo’s and Jaguars today as we are looking for a new car for her. Right now she is driving my fathers 2008 Jaguar but wants to upgrade since she can’t drive it in the winter. My dad got his jaguar from you guys brand new back then. Today absolutely NO ONE came out to help us. We walked around for quite some time out in the cold looking at all of the vehicles. We assumed someone would come out to help since every other place did. We were so disappointed we left. Sure, we could’ve went in but it was obvious our business was not wanted.
They accused me of being a fraud and would not sell me a vehicle. I am a hardworking tax paying citizen and claimed selling me a vehicle would be too risky. You should not have to beg for a dealership to sell you a vehicle. Im sure BMW or Mercedes will gladly take my money. I will not recommend this dealership to any of my friends or family.
I would say bad customer service but they just dont have service at all walked in an stood there for 15 mins before any one spoke then when they did the person dealing with us was very short with me like I was wasting his time as if I cant afford the car then wen proven wrong then you wanna really do your job #Black people have money too
I found one of their cars online. I emailed the dealership my request about the car. The dealership replied that it was available. Later they called me about it. I said I was interested. Next week on Monday morning the dealer called me again and said the car was still available. I confirmed that Ill be there later in the day to purchase their vehicle. On my way to the dealership I called to say I am on my way now. He said the car was sold. Nobody called the car was sold. Thanks for wasting my time.
While we had a nice experience with our salesman at Capital Luxury Cars, every experience with the service department has been extremely poor. They are unprofessional, poor communicators, and just have a lack of understanding about how to make a customer feel welcome and understood. I go out of my way now to avoid having to take my car to them for service or repairs. Unfortunately, they are the only Volvo dealership in the area. Unless it is an item that is covered by the warranty, I go to my neighborhood mechanic who is friendly and accommodating.Volvo makes a great car, and for that I dont regret my purchase. But I would not send any family or friends to this dealership. It is just not worth the frustration and poor customer service.
My husband and I recently bought a 2004 Volvo XC70 and wanted to have an automatic car starter system put in it. As many of you probably know, you must have a spare key to do this with. Kevin M. Davis, Parts Department Manager of Capital Luxury Car Company (or Capital Volvo as it is referred to) was extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. He went out of his was to get the key, which must be shipped from the company to the dealership, in an extremely swift manner. When we decided we needed a second valet key, Kevin was right there to help us out once more! We found Kevin Davis to be an attribute to Capital Volvo and an extremely helpful friend to customers! If you need help with your Volvo or any other luxury car, Kevin Davis is the man to see at Capital Luxury Car Company in Colonie, NY
This was my first experience with Capital Luxury Car Company and I needed warranty work and to check on some parts. Both Jodi and Keven were very professional, knowledgeable, friendy and made me feel like I had been a customer for a long time. This was probably the best experience I have ever had at any dealership with any car I have ever had. I would highly recomend this dealership to anyone and have already let others know the excellent way I was taken care of.
At first, I thought we had found our new car place. We had what we thought was a good experience leasing a Land Rover Discovery Sport for my husband a year ago. We went back to them when it was time to get me a new car, and found their pricing to be astronomical. We hadnt shopped around for my husbands car because it was a spur of the moment purchase. He had been told he got a pretty crappy deal since then by people he knows in the car business, but hadnt thought much of it until we got pricing for mine. We were looking at the Volvo SUV models and after being shocked by their prices for the higher models, tried the pricing for the xc40. We were told they couldnt even touch the price range we were looking for without putting $5k down for a LEASE. I got the price I was looking for from 4 other dealers outside of the area with $0 DOWN. It was clear the sales guy just didnt want to work with us. Oh...and a winning statement from the sales guy during one of my conversations with him...Well if you cant afford the car, theres not much I can do about that. Excuse me? Great sales tactic. We took our business to Keeler for a Mercedes, and went through the best car buying experience weve ever had. Well be taking our business to them from now on. Its unfortunate you lost the business of two 30 year olds who drive luxury vehicles, could have been solid customers for you for the next 20 years.
Did a night drop off for service the following day which was a Friday. Was told it would be worked on over the weekend and done by monday. Called monday morning and they had no idea what i was talking about nor did they have any knowledge of my vehicle being dropped off. I went on to ask if the vehicle would be ready that day (monday) was transferred around from dept to dept. No one could answer a simple question. Marcy the sales rep. Was avoiding my questions as to whom built the quote for my vehicle and would only respond with I will call you back. That was 9:00am at 2:00pm I still hadnt received a call back nor any information on my cars status. For future work on my vehicle I will NOT be returning to this Dealer. Worst experience ever!
We just had the pleasure of buying a Land Rover Sport from the fabulous team at Capitol Luxury Cars in Albany. We were blown away by the extraordinary customer service, training, and courtesy – and, believe me, we’re not easy customers! The team we worked with -- Chris, Andy, Jim, Dan, and Eric—all went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to make the deal work for us. Not only did they make us feel welcome they even welcomed our Labradoodle puppy! Of course the Land Rover Sport is one of the greatest vehicles on the road. But having a team like the CapLux crew as our dealer was the cherry on top of the cake. We’re from New York City and we’d happily travel to Albany any time to work with CapLux again.
I had a great experience getting my Range Rover Velar at Capital Luxury Cars. My team was Jashaad, Mark and Jack. As a sales manager, Mark will do everything possible to get you what you want in the price range you can afford. He and I had several lengthy phone conversations and sent several emails to each other; he took the time to understand what I was looking for and explained everything to me in detail. When new inventory was about to come in, he checked and found just what I wanted in my prince range. The business manager Jack was also easy to work with. And when I was ready to drive off in my new Velar, Jashaad came to me with a gift of Range Rover coffee mugs! He also gave me his personal cell if I had any questions with the Range Rover App or the interactive infotainment system in my car (which is state of the art technology!!). I have nothing but good things to say about Capital Luxury Cars. I love my new car and look forward to a long relationship with this dealership in the future! Vilma Affinito
Volvo: Left my car running for close to an hour before it even moved to the shop. Service staff is blunt and offers little advice and are not personable at all. As a 17 year old, they assume they can take advantage and expect that the customer knows nothing about cars. The staff is lazy, especially the new hires. Every time I am here I see at least two employees on their phones and even more just standing around in the showroom. Work ethic is poor, at least from the view of a customer. When in the waiting area, you can see the service receptionists and mechanics looking at you through the window, im assuming theyre talking about me. Awkward. Every time I am at Capital Luxury Cars the customer service becomes worse and worse. From an aesthetic standpoint, their dealership is outdated. Volvo posters and signs are not genuine volvo and original. Makes the dealership look unprofessional and unorganized. The furniture does not match and there is a large colorful butterfly that sticks out like a sore thumb. Only positives I can think of is the helpful receptionists at the front and the large selection of new and used cars. Overall, very disappointed and expected more.
Stay away at all costs, especially if youre in your 20s. Im pretty sure they were trying to take advantage of me because of my age.I initially went a month prior just to look at a Volvo and was quoted a reasonable price, but when I returned, the got a new GM and tried to charge me $4000 more than the last time I was there. They were even trying to upsell an older S60 (FWD) and more miles than an a current model year S60 with AWD and less miles. I was very calm and tried to explain to the GM about the price difference between my last visit and even the AWD and the guy wouldnt budge. I thanked them for their time and left disappointed. Since the visit I have even contacted the sales woman, but it appears she wont respond either.I think they were trying to take advantage of me because of my age. I definitely wont be back and will advise everyone to stay away.
We had an excellent experience at Capital Luxury Cars and would recommend your dealership to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. Weve purchased our last four vehicles from Dan Culbert, so it was without hesitation when we needed a new car the first and only call we made was to Dan. We know Dan is excellent at his job, knowledgeable, trust worthy and honest. Hes been a trusted business partner, client and friend to us for over a decade. Ive also had the pleasure of knowing and working with both Cidalia Millham and Mark Taylor in their past careers and know them both to be a hard workers, honest and trustworthy. They took excellent care of us, explained everything we needed to know about the vehicle in detail and made the process both pleasant and enjoyable. You are very lucky to have such an excellent team of professionals representing your dealership. Its been a pleasure doing business and we look forward to working together again in the future!Sandra & Joseph Nardoci
Been a Rover since 1995, went to Capitol Lux in 2010 after they had purchased Rover a few months prior. Salesman had no product knowledge of the Rover line, options or standard equipment. While discussing price and trade in options, was asked to come back in an hour, his lunch just arrived and didnt want to eat it cold. We left w/ our old Rover and did not go back after lunch. Tried a few times to deal w/ the Rover dealership over the next months, hit a brick wall each time. Long story -short, found a real Land Rover Dealership 1 1/2 hour south at Mt Kisco.. As far as the service department...the technicians are great but, the lack of customer service from the service advisors is poor. They dont call to give you any updates on shop work, or even to upsell more work. They do not know how to write up a repair order to get your vehicle fix right the first time. Maybe with the new building on the way things will change. Land Rover does not need this dealership to tarnish their great name.
Dan Culbert, General Manager is a racist and considers all Asians who wants to buy a Range Rover an exporter. I am an Asian American and is expecting a baby really soon and wanted to look for a nice luxury SUV for my wife and baby, but he had the nerve to say that since I work for the state and my wife is a customer service rep at a local insurance agency in clifton park that we couldnt possibly afford a vehicle with a sticker price of $68,945, seriously??? Furthermore he checked my address on my drivers license and told me before taking a test drive that never happened that he is familiar with Niskayuna, and that I lived in an apartment because it has an apt number as an address, i told him i own a condo idiot!!! besides who cares if its an apartment or house when purchasing an automobile. My biggest concern is that if he doesnt want to sell me a car, just tell me but dont degrade me, i live in a condo because i choose to and nobody knows how much money i save and can splurge on luxury items that i choose to splurge on and then to say my wife is just a rep at a insurance company that the numbers dont match up. what didnt match up is that i was an Asian American and he sells cars for a living and put me down on it.I know most Caucasians will think theyre a great dealership but the fact is Dan Culbert is a racist and discriminated against me and did not even attempt to sell a car which is available for sale, actually there were 2 Range Rovers on the lot, both available for sale based on on my race and fear that i would export it overseas, if thats not discriminatory, i dont know what is.Dan Culbert, here is a message for you, you said that it didnt matter if it was a 50 year old irish man that you suspected as an auto exporter, i know many irish 50 year olds as i am an American, and just becareful who you sell the cars to, when that 50 year old irish man buys the car for me, you will be in big trouble with the law.Its 2014 and just unbelievable that Racism has crawled into a luxury dealership, oh btw, stop trying to sell me a Jaguar or Volvo, this is America, i buy what i want dude, and go get a hair piece before you go take drive thru orders at Wendys because my goal is to prevent you from ever doing this to another ethnic hard working American couple like my wife and I.
I have been visiting Capital Luxry Cars (formerly Capital Volvo) for over 10 years. The service I recieve here is second to none. I would never bring any of my cars anywhere else.I believe one of the most telling traits of any person is how well they perform at their craft. Is work just a paycheck? - or is it a display of ones integrity? The best always shine. Its clear the staff of Capital Luxury Cars take their work, and their customers to heart. Im nobody special. Im not rich or famous; But when I bring my cars to Capital Luxury Cars the staff make me feel as if I am. Their expertise, friendliness and compassion put them in an elite category of customer service. Id like to share a bit about the staff in both Parts and Service...Kevin Davis: Ive been visiting Kevin at the Parts Desk for many years now. I only see him a few times a year - but each time I visit he makes me feel like a member of his family. With all of the people that he has dealings with on a daily basis, its amazing the information hes able to retain about my car, my interests, etc. He always knows exactly what I need at exactly the right price. He and Robert Messick have helped me with numerous special requests over the years. Ive lost count of the amount of times Kevin in particular has gone above and beyond for my sake. Both Kevin and Robert have gotten it right every single time.Sam Desarno: Sam is a master in his field and has taken time out from the garage to personally explain the details of his work to me. His knowledge of Volvos is literally second to none. His work is always of the highest caliber and his ability to explain the work done is also top notch. My dad was a diesel mechanic for many years - Sam reminds me alot of him. His commitment to get everything right - every time shows in his work.Daniel Wissenbach, Andy Bashwinger & Jodi Vannie: Ive been visiting with Dan for a long time now and he is a wonderful guy to do business with. He has extensive knowledge of cars, always greets with a warm hello and always makes me feel assured that everything is being well taken care of. He does this by simply being himself. Andy Bashwinger and Jodi Vannie are equally skilled as well. I havent done business with them as long as the others listed, but in the few times Ive dealt with them - theyve really shined as well. Jodi has helped me with some rather trickier things on more than one occasion and was perfect every time.If there is an national all-star team for service centers/parts departments, all these people of Captial Luxury Cars deserve to earn first team honors. The skill in which they execute their work on a daily basis is to be commended. The best part of all is how genuine everyone is. No fake smiles. No forced small talk. Just top of the line service from top of the line people. Id never go anywhere else as its not possible for anyone to do a better job then they do.
Unbelievably untrustworthy operation. We drove up from Ithaca, NY, picked a car and arranged to have a tow hitch and roof racks installed. There were still some minor questions about the concierge service that would come with the car (as 3 1/2 hours each way is a long distance to travel for annual warranty visits) but the car was supposedly going to be ready to pick up two days before we planned to leave for our summer vacation in mid-July.The salesman (Andy Reed) called then to say that the work wouldnt be done on time after all, so we agreed to come up to get the car after our trip to the UK. (That would give them lots of time to get the roof rack etc added.) We exchanged emails with Andy about minor things during our first 10 days away, but then he quit replying and when we got home we discovered they had sold the car to someone else. Never told us a thing, didnt ask for a deposit, no replacement available - we didnt find out anything about the car being sold until I called his manager today (since Andy never returned our calls) and asked him to confirm that the car would be ready this Saturday as agreed before our trip.Dont waste your time with these guys. I have the emails to back everything up - they just arent trustworthy. Im going to buy my Range Rover elsewhere.

2022-05-17Last week my wife was driving a five hour trip in her 2006 XK8 and experienced what turned out to be a broken belt on a front tire. The result was a major wheel shim at higher speeds. She was about 11 miles from Capital Luxury Cars and called for advice. Chris Collins the service manager listened to the descriptive and told her it was okay to drive to the dealership at a slower pace. She did so successfully. While it was 2:30 on a busy afternoon, Chris test drove the car and affirmed she was safe to continue on with the remaining 3 hours of her trip. There was no charge for this and we all felt comfortable with his diagnosis. Many thanks Chris!!

2021-03-26WARNING: DO NOT USE CAPITAL LUXURY CARS OF 347 NEW KARNER ROAD ALBANY,NY! I actually read the bad reviews on this dealership, went against my better judgement and used them anyway. I bought a used 2017 Toyota Sienna off their Volvo lot. The car was immaculate inside and out and this was confirmed by a independent shop I brought it to before I purchased it. The day I picked up the van, it was dark outside and they had the van parked in a very odd spot tucked up close to the dealership building, ( at the time I didnt think much of the odd positioning of the van.) Got the van home that night. The next morning I go outside to look at the van and found hundreds of scratches all of the driver side. Apparently when they detailed the car, ( before I picked it up ),they scratched it up. This explains why the driver side of the van was parked so snug against the wall of the dealership, they were trying to hide the damage. Make a long story short, I took the van back the very next morning and they apologized for damage and said, it would all be fixed. They had my car for over a week and when I went back to pick it up, ( not only was the original damage not repaired correctly,) there were new scratches on the passenger side, as well as the driverside and all around the car. I had the service manager Eric Rosen come out to look at the scratches and he said, I will not repaint the car just too expensive but they would send the car back out to their shop called Best Body of Latham/Cohoes area. I asked Mr. Rosen, what is the address of this shop and who worked on my car? Mr. Rosen stated; I do not have to give you that information. I asked him several more times and he would not tell me the address of where my car was repaired. At one point, Mr. Rosen tried to back track and say, actually the car was not sent out it was repaired here at Volvo. Also, I dropped my car off at Volvo with 57466 miles and when I picked it up, it had 57486, so they put 20 miles on my car. My question now is, if the car never left Volvo for repair, why is there 20 miles added onto my mileage? Mr. Rosen and the rest of the shady staff I dealt with at Capital Luxury Cars, could not answer those questions.Shady dealer ship. Shame on Capital Luxury Cars. Going to make sure everyone knows about this horrible dealership, ( i.e local news, AG, BBB, and many many more!!!

2020-11-10Excellent service by a great team of people! I especially like the print out of items that could/ should be replaced on my next visit including cost. Before I purchased my Volvo, I shopped around with other brands. Owning a certified pre-owned Volvo comes with a 7 year/100k bumper-to-bumper warranty - do the math. Its the best value youll find on the market. I cant see myself ever driving anything but a Volvo.

2019-09-12Andy Reed and Codi Sullivan make a great team. Personable and so helpful. I spent a lot of time researching multiple options between Land Rover and Volvo. In the end, Volvo was the best fit for me. From test drives to working on lease numbers to the day of signing was straight forward and no stomach acid with surprises that seem to go with buying a new car. Overall a really good experience. Thank you for everything. I highly recommend them.

2021-03-08My wife took her Volvo in to have a safety recall done. The service Dept completed the recall and washed the car. The technician that washed the car did a poor job only cleaning about half the mud out of the wheels. This left the tires unbalanced and caused the car to shake while driving. We contacted the service Dept to have the problem corrected. The service advisors answer was to take it to a car wash. While it’s not a huge issue it goes to show how business is done at this dealership. This is my second poor experience at this dealership the first being with sales. Save yourself the hassle go somewhere else.

2021-03-26Worse experience of my life. The sales department was great but the service department a nightmar. Volvo service department detailed our car before we bought it and ended up scratching the whole driverside and the worse part, they did not tell us. The next day we discovered the damage and the dealership took responsibility and agreed to repair it. They had the car for about 7 days, when we got the car back, not only did they not fix the original scratches; but they made it worse by scratching up the, passenger side, front, rear exterior, inside interior and gouged the front rim. The manager Eric Rosen refused to repaint the car or fix the car properly. He also refused give us the address of the place they took the car to have it repaired. We are now forced to go through our own insurance to fix the damages the dealership caused.,which will cost us thousands. Both my husband and I have attempted to reach out to the CEO of Capitol Luxury Cars ERIC KAHN via email, but he not only blocked my husbands email, he ignored my email as well. How can you screw a customer over like this and not deal with the issue is beyond me. Horrible business practice! Shame on the CEO ERIC KAHN for turning a blind eye to both my husband and I and not helping us to resolve this matter.
