Albany Volvo demonstrated perfect car service - caring and efficient! My AC wasn’t working and I wanted the car detailed. My 2006 Volvo looks brand new - I am not exaggerating! I have told everyone I speak with how impressed I am with their service - truly best in class! Thank You Albany Volvo!
I am not from the area and broke down on the interstate. I had my 2012 S60 towed here and was told it would be able to be looked at and diagnosed by the end of day. I understand repairs take time and they have a busy schedule- that is not necessarily the issue. My major complaint is that I called and left several messages over the course of the week with no reply. It is now 4 days later and I still have no idea what is wrong and have no timeline. It’s ok if I have to wait, but some communication would be nice. I am stuck in Albany with my dog and need to get home to Boston.
Dylan Rosen was an amazing sales person beyond knowledgeable the entire purchase was smooth. Dylan and the entire team at Volvo truly went above and beyond for find me the car I wanted and at delivery went over every detail so when I drove away I felt confident in my new S60. I would recommend if your looking for a vehicle new or used definitely call Dylan!
Connor and the sales crew were very complimentary.and helpful. We were fortunate to have a new XC-60 Hybrid Recharge that we could purchase. A week later, we ran into the dreaded check engine light. John Brennan (Shop Foreman) was extremely helpful, explaining the dealerships concern and arranging a rental vehicle over the long weekend so we would not risk breaking down if the light was due to a more serious issue.
Every apt with Capital Volvo has been exceptional. The service department as always are inviting and helpful. My recent service on 04/26/22 with a knowledgeable young woman named Yasmine Nasrat, was not only pleasant but accommodating. I purchased my car during the pandemic and knew little about all the features. The wonderful mechanic, wish I knew his name took the time to go through some of the most important features. Customer service is crucial and employees like Yasmine and the man behind the scenes (mechanical engineer) makes Volvo many steps above the rest.Love my VolvoMichele
After a fender bender accident leaving me with a broken tail light, Capital Volvo ordered the part the same day and made provisions to have me come in 2 days later to replace it so I could continue to drive my Volvo S60 safely. From Parts to Service people could not have been nicer and more professional. A pleasure to do businessWith all around.
Yet another incredible visit to Capital Volvo Cars of Albany! I purchased my Volvo S60 a year ago with Selena Dutcher.When it came time to get a NYS Inspection, I went back to the dealership. The service was top notch. I booked the appointment through the appointment coordinator. That was simple and easy.When I arrived, Tony Decrescente was there to make sure I was taken care of. In fact, they did the inspection much quicker than expected. In addition, I got a courtesy car wash!I truly cant say enough good things about this dealership. Buy your Volvo from Selena and then continue to use their amazing service!
This was the easiest dealership (Capital of Albany) we worked with. We were 2 hours away and they made it easy and we’re efficient. We had a great experience and purchased the exact vehicle we wanted. Excellent customer service and we highly recommend this dealership.
This was my first visit here.I made Appointment for an oil change a few weeks ago. I didn’t think I needed to have a courtesy car for an appointment that I thought would only take an hour. I have had plenty of oil changes with other cars that I’ve had I never waited more than an hour for it to be done. After an hour and a half I went to the service desk asked how much longer they said it was done and they were having it washed. I waited another half an hour and went back to ask what was going on. 10 minutes later I got my car I was not happy to be there for over two hours for just an oil change and a car wash. to top that all off I just received a notice that my inspection was up now I have to go back again for that. It would’ve been nice if they would’ve caught that while they were doing the oil change
This was my first time at Capital Volvo and the whole experience was just wonderful. Dylan and Frank were so friendly and a pleasure to deal with. I am looking forward to a long time relationship with this dealership for service on my new XC 90 and new cars in the future.
My 2016 XC 60 needed an upgrade to the 3G modem because it was no longer supported. I scheduled an appointment to have a new modem installed and upgraded on June 20th at 2:30pm. I arrived on time and waited for 2 and a half hours. I was told that the new modem was installed and everything was updated. I was approximately 30 minutes from the dealership when the same message that prompted me to update the modem popped up on the display. I called the dealership and asked for service, I was put on hold so the person in service could connect me with the person responsible for the appointment for modem installation..The service tech who answered initially returned finally and said the manager in charge of modem install said I have to bring the car back to the dealership to see what the problem was. I just paid almost $1000. When they told me the new modem was installed and software updated, there should have been a quality control check done to confirm the work. I live an hour away. I am less than satisfied with the service. Now I have no choice but to return. Taking time from work.
A routine inspection took a twist when it was discovered one of the tires was showing some cording. They talked to me about it and, unfortunately, there was no tire to replace it, and, because it’s a 4-wheel drive, all 4 tires had to be replaced. And of course aligned! So it added 2 more hours—and significantly more money—to my total, but they had snacks and water available!! At my request, they washed the car, and Yasmine, who had checked me in, even cleaned the inside of my windows before I left! I give 4 stars because I always feel there’s room for improvement—if they had halves, I’d go for 4 1/2. 😀
Selena Dutcher is awesome! This is our third Volvo with Selena and she has been great! This time we considered the XC60 as opposed the the XC90s of the past. I had a LOT of questions regarding the differences between the two vehicles and availability. Selena answered them all promptly, professionally and with the patience of a saint! We ultimately decided to stay with XC90 model and are very happy!
I had an awesome experience buying my first Volvo with Selena Dutcher! She made the process extremely easy while making sure I was completely comfortable every step of the way. I have had the car for a year. There is nothing to distinguish this car dealership from any other “used” car dealership. When you are there they treat you fine, but trying to make an appointment is absurd. You always have to leave a message a wait for a call back.Tony in the service department is great! Sadly, I have not come across another person I have found to be helpful.The customer service is merely, ok. There were some glitches with salesperson and the quality of service provided. There is no follow up from any supervisors. Yes, the car is great, but its not like I would recommend this dealership over another one in the Capital region .
Service department is slow, unresponsive, and unreliable. After agreeing to begin service, I called back everyday for 2 weeks leaving messages trying to get updates on progress. Only to find out they hadn’t even ordered the parts to begin doing the work on my car that we had agreed to. It’s often impossible to even speak to someone who works there, let alone get any sort of clear answer about things.
This dealership has taken great care of my 2004 Volvo wagon for the past 13 years. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my tank.July 2022: Once again, my beloved tank is back in action. They were able to fix multiple issues on a tight schedule due to my upcoming surgery. Will not go anywhere else for service.
Came in for annual service on my 2011 C70 with less than 17,000 on the odometer. Alissa knew just what needed to be done and wrote up a service ticket that called for the usual Volvo service plus an additional inspection of those items that would age out before theywore out. She kept me informed as the service proceeded and reviewed what had been done when the car was ready. I was pleased at the quality of the experience but not really surprised. This is my seventh Volvo and I have come to know how well both the car and the customer are cared for.
Capital Volvo makes the car buying experience stress-free and pleasant. Their website is thorough and easy to navigate. Test drives are easy to schedule and convenient. Selena Dutcher is an excellent sales consultant who is friendly and professional and can answer any question about Volvo cars. It was great to experience a positive buying experience for an excellent line of automobiles.
I feel so fortunate to own a Volvo. It is not because its a Volvo but the service I receive at Capital Volvo cars of Albany. Anthony and Adam are always there so helpful. I have also had an amazing experience with the boys in the parts department. I needed new tires, a car carrier and my windshield fixed during times when my husband was getting his cancer treatment in Boston. Their understanding made everything seamless.
The people in Volvo are, without exception, always helpful, friendly, and reassuring. Their work, and that of the mechanics is always five star. (We love the new facility but would like to suggest small , out of the way stools for those waiting to see people in the repair division for customers who find standing difficult.)Im so grateful to have a spendldly made car I love which is an automated member of my family. I trust my Volvo infinitely to take me safely on my way. It is also wonderful to have another fix it up family who are kind and wholly dependable and who keep my vehicle in prima condition. Outstanding Dealership. We were up from Virginia and thought we had a problem with our brakes. Capitol Volvo took us in the same day without an appointment. A life saver as we were afraid to get on the highway before knowing if we had a serious problem with the brakes. It turned out that we didn’t have a problem, and that we could travel without concern. We can’t thank their Service manager enough for fitting us in at the end of the day. It’s just like Volvo to care about safety. Thank you Capitol Volvo for being there for us.
Outstanding service! Most prompt and very courteous! While shopping for an auto I stopped into the Capital Luxery Car Volvo dealership in the Albany NY area where I met a pleasant young salesman named Connor who very graciously took the time to show me several different Volvo models....he even took one out of the showroom for me to drive that I had my eye on!! Long story short, I purchased the sporty little XC60, which I absolutely love! I must admit that I was a bit intimidated by all the computer features in the cockpit.....but Connor very patiently sat with me for an hour in the car and guided me through the use of every feature. He made my car purchase (which can be stressful) a totally pleasant experience...and downright fun!....I would highly recommend this Volvo dealership to anyone in the market for a new vehicle. I highly recommend using Capital Volvo to service your Volvo. My experience with the service department was great from start to finish. They were ready for us as soon as we arrived, were up front about what things would cost and were on time with completion of the work, as well. The very professional service agent was highly knowledgeable and was very clear in the way that she explained what was needed for our car. We no longer have a Volvo dealership close to our house and now have to travel an hour and a half to get to one of three dealerships nearest to us. I will be certain to use them for our future service needs.
We were in contact with Julie from our first interest in the newer Volvo. She was very prompt in getting back to us. We started the deal on Tuesday and we were driving my dream car home on Saturday. She was very professional and had great communication through the process. She was so helpful in explaining about the car and gave us a detailed rundown on the car. Showing us all the features and safety measures put into it. She was very kind and I felt like she could be a friend we would cherish. Walked into dealership, 2 salesman were conversing with each other without paying attention to us. One person left while the other was now on the phone. Listening I realized it was a personal call. After waiting several minutes we walked out. I guess its hard to find professional help.
I had a good experience at Capital Luxury Volvo on 6/29/21. I went in for an oil change, tire rotation and check of fluid levels. In the end, I only needed the oil change and the topping of the fluid levels. The topping of the fluid levels was done for free. The front tires were in better shape than the rear ones so no tire rotation was needed. The staff was very pleasant. I would recommend going there for Volvo service.
I recently purchased a new Volvo at Capitol Volvo Cars of Albany, and it was the best car buying experience Ive ever had. My sales rep Julie was very knowledgeable and professional and very thorough in explaining the features of the car. I had done research on my trade before shopping, so I knew what it was worth, as other dealers kept offering considerably less the the Blue Book value. But Capitol Volvo was right on the money and gave me fair value for the trade. I would definitely buy from them again.
Cant say enough about Capitol Volvo - the very best dealer and staff in the area! Were returning customers after having purchased our first Volvo in 2015 from Selena Dutcher and were delighted to have Selena as our Volvo representative again here in 2021! Selena is the most straightforward, honest, and caring car salesperson we have ever dealt with. Nothing but goodness all the way around and we love our new Volvo - and Selena too!
We had an excellent experience with the dealership, in general, and with Julie Law, our salesperson, in particular. Because of our schedules, she had to come in on her day off first to work with us on test drives and, again when we took delivery of our new car. She provided an excellent in-car tutorial of the car’s systems for my spouse and I and was available for a few call backs with our questions.
I had a great experience with Volvo. I had a few things wrong with my new vehicle and had to leave it there for several days. Tony took great care of me as far as keeping me up-to-date as to what was going on as well as making sure that when the car was finished it was delivered back to my home. I highly recommend Volvo’s service.
All of the staff here from sales to service and parts are absolutely wonderful and courteous! I purchased a CPO XC90 here and it was by far the best car buying experience from a dealership that I have ever had. Julie was a wonderful sales rep and extremely knowledgeable, respectful, and friendly.The service department surprised me as well with how helpful they are with getting us in for a warranty repair and calling to give updates when the ETAs change. They are extremely professional and courteous and have gone out of their way thus-far to ensure that we are satisfied during the repair process.I cant thank these guys (and gals) enough for how much they strive to take care of their customers.
I find the service and parts staff at Capital Volvo to be very competent, helpful, knowledgeable and willing to extend themselves to satisfy the customer. That is the reason I return to Capital Volvo - the staff and the service. I highly recommend those people. Although, my recent experience (and only 4 stars) is colored by both my 3 hour wait time compounded by the fact that the new facility is an affront to the senses. I find the new facility very sleek and modern but sterile, loud and extremely unappealing to me as a customer. The service reception area is so lacking in any sound dampening characteristics that it is difficult to maintain a normal conversation. And, almost impossible if anyone else is speaking at the same time. This is the place where you are discussing the salient issues prompting your visit, The very situation deserving of a conversational atmosphere. The waiting room is merely an area behind a wall of windows that makes it retina-burning bright. The communication table with USB access requires the user to have the sun, behind them, directly on the screen. As I waited I overheard every public and private conversation in the massive front area. I overheard personal and sensitive financial customer information as a sale was being finalized by merely sitting in the waiting are. That is enough to deter me from doing business there. Not to mention that every salesperson (and by extension, customer) is on display-either in the open area or behind a wall of glass. So, my great experience with the staff and service is offset by the offensive and intrusive nature of the new facility. It may be visually appealing but it is poorly designed for human activities. I certainly wouldnt enjoy working or conducting business under those conditions.
I live in Maryland and was recently traveling in NY with my daughter. I needed a new tire in order to be able to drive home safely. The service center was incredibly helpful, professional, and they went above and beyond to get me back on the road. Highly, highly recommend this service center for folks near and far!
Top quality service. That is not an understatement. Dropped my car off for a couple recalls and I was in and out the door with a loaner in a very short time. They kept me informed as to the status of my vehicle and even told me about things I would need to address on my car in the future, without being pushy. They even cleaned my car before it was returned to me. Staff was professional and efficient.
Service was very good and service team showed respect with detailed explanation. Service works with parts department in obtaining needed materials for repair or service, and so I’d like to comment on the Director of Parts Department, Kevin Davis. I have been associated with Kevin since 1990 as a customer of Capital Volvo (formerly Keeler Volvo) and since that time to date, my opinion of his leadership with his team members and his relationship with customers is nothing short of stellar. He is the best and the reason I have continued to have my car serviced at Volvo dealership. I want to publicly thank him for everything he has done for me as a customer. I am grateful! Patricia
Service staff is top notch. The car was in for regular service, and they discovered a tie rod needed to be replaced. It was great to learn that was covered under our extended warranty. The only weak spot was getting through to the service dept the following day, to get a sense of when the car would be ready. I left a few messages with the service department, and then with the woman who takes their calls. The final time I called it went to a recording on that womans phone and I couldnt even get to the actual service dept to leave a message. Its not that I was in a terrible rush, but I just wanted to plan around it, as I was going to need a ride down from Ballston Spa to pick up the car.All in all, I know my car is in good hands when I drop it off!
Selena was a pleasure to work with! We shopped around but ultimately came back to her. Selena knows her stuff! She is a wealth of knowledgeable, has a friendly demeanor, and was more than willing to work with us. She was facts coupled with smiles which made us feel at ease; this was nothing we’d experienced elsewhere. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and are loving our new Volvo! We will be back to work with Selena in the future and have already raved about her to our family and friends.
Vehicle experiencing excessive oil consumption. Despite Volvo issuing 12 page technical bulletin on this issue and resolution, goodwill was unwilling to cover repair costs (outside warranty period). Local service was lack luster in advocating (perhaps needing to finance new building) for coverage. In addition the vehicle saw body damage while awaiting service. Local shop provided subpar cosmetic touch ups and goodwill service. Car now running well but not looking as good.
I had the most wonderful experience in the most stressful of times! Julie really got the job done. She was so thorough and professional. Julie was wonderful to work with and I would recommend her and this dealership to anyone looking for a car. Usually car-buying is an unpleasant experience but Julie went above and beyond our expectations and delivered us the most beautiful car at an excellent price. I just cant thank her enough for making this experience perfect for our family.
Ive had my eye on a Volvo for some time. I owned a jeep Grand Cherokee Summit (and traded that in). Selena Dutcher is the most pleasant, knowledgeable salesperson Ive ever met (and Ive met my share). There was no high-pressure sales tactics. The trade process was actually pleasant, something that I usually dislike intensely. And my 2022 Volvo XC60 is incredible. I thought my last two Jeeps were top notch, but my XC60 puts them (and Jeep) to shame. As Ive become more familiar with it, Ive found that it does so much more than even advertised. And it does them so much better. This Scandinavian vehicle has features that are so well thought out that I am convinced that my American-made vehicles pale in comparison. And, I LOVE driving it!Thanks to Selena and Capital Volvo.

Very poor experience. After Capital Volvo replaced a flat tire, my “low tire pressure” warning light came on 20 miles into my drive home. It was too late to call, so I called the service department first thing the next day. I left a message. I called again at lunch time and left a message. At 2 pm I stilled had not received a call back, and I called again, and told the receptionist it was urgent, and I needed to speak to someone right away because I was leaving and needed to make sure my vehicle was safe to drive. NOBODY would take my call even after I explained it was urgent and I was concerned about driving my vehicle safely for a long distance. I had to drive my vehicle to Capital Volvo in person before I left on my trip to get the problem addressed. As I suspected, it was a simple fix that they could have talked me through over the phone if they had cared about my situation in the least. But they didn’t care. I had purchased my vehicle from them only 2 months earlier. I will never go back there again.
Had my car inspected by a local body shop and was quoted a massive number. Brought my car to Capital Volvo and despite being incredibly busy, they were able to fit me in to their schedule and take a look at my car. After a software update and an O2 sensor replacement I drove out of the lot paying virtually nothing!!Huge thank you to Alyssa, Tony, and everyone at Capital Volvo for their honesty and professionalism!If you have a Volvo and it needs repair don’t take it anywhere else!!

We are very pleased with our experience at Capital Volvo. Julie was exceptional with her experience and knowledge of the cars. She answered all our questions and we never felt pressured. Our entire experience was very professional and I would give it a 10 plus! I will suggest to any of our friends that are looking for a new car to come to Capital Volvo.
Made my appointment 1 week in advance for a 10,000 mile service on my wife’s Volvo. When I came in for an appointment they couldn’t find me in the system and I had to give them my name 4 or 5 times(write it down). I was told when I made the appointment it would take 1.5 hours. I was there for 2.5 hours for basically an oil change and a tire rotation. Overall the service advisors were nice but the amount of time it takes to get simple maintenance done is way out of wack.
I purchased my car from Capital Volvo in 1998 when they were Keeler Volvo. Ive never had my car serviced anywhere else! Trust is an important component in my associations and Ive never had any reason, not, to trust the exemplary work that is performed there! As a auto enthusiast, my love is recognized and the attention to detail always been honored.The staff has always been genuine! Even through the change of ownership, the staff has accommodated me to the extent of their responsibilities. I have never had an bad moment with service, again, because of their attention to detail. There is continuity in communication between all aspects of service, technician and parts departments, allowing for the best possible performance of services.I rated Capital Volvo 5 stars. Everyone says that the car-buying process is one of the most hated process to go through, then I went to Capital Volvo and had the utmost pleasure of working with Selena. She reframed the entire process and made it a conversation between friends. She listened, gave us options, and paid attention to our wants and needs. We left not feeling like we had to check our pockets. For the first time in a long time, we made a significant purchase and had no buyers remorse! From sales to finance to service; everyone was friendly, conversational, professional, and knowledgeable!
I’m so glad I’ve chosen to have any and all repair/upkeep for my 2007 Volvo V70 at Capitol Volvo. The service is superior and I can even wait to have my car fixed. I own a 2007 Volvo S80 with 175,000 miles. I needed a wheel bearing that made my car sound like a single prop plane, aside from the safety issue. Despite a work backlog that would put my job out 10 days, Service Manager Tony DeCresente got me in at 8am the next day. This shop, and Tony, takes care of their Volvo customers. I’ve had dozens of experiences here - all positive. Consistently professional and effective. Thank you Tony.
The entire staff at Capital Volvo are excellent. This is my fifth Volvo XC90 purchased at Capital Volvo and I have been very pleased. From the customer service that I have received from the sales team to the excellent support from the service department, I have nothing but good things to say. Everyone is friendly and extremely helpful and I feel that they all have my best interest at heart!
I had my first visit to the service department yesterday. Every staff member I spoke with leading up to my appointment and during the diagnostic process was very professional and knowledgeable. Service department needs a lot of attention. Had an apt scheduled for 10am car didnt get pulled into the bay till after 12 with me waiting finally left after 4 1/2 hours in a loaner. Called in the next day around 4 and was told car was still beieing worked on and needed a road test. Would be ready the following day. I informed them I had a funeral to go to and needed the car by noon. I showed up at 12:30 and the car was not ready. Got the car at 2:30 and headed home. 1 mile down the road had a red engine light come on for coolant low. So much for the 42 point inspection they did. Ive had problems like this in the past. Will never buy a Volvo from them again.
I would recomend Capital to anyone looking to buy a car without all the high pressure sale tactics. Just an over all good experience from start to finish. Sales women was very knowledgeable about the car and has been there to assist me with any questions Ive had about the car before and after the sale. I purchased a nice car at a good price.

In spite of being booked for the day (and scheduling appointments for 3 weeks out), they promised to get it looked at as soon as they could.Although it did take almost 2 hours, they went out of their way to take care of someone who didn’t buy their Volvo from them and had never been a customer there.Furthermore, they didn’t just scan the error code and tell me to schedule an appointment, they cleared the error code which required changing at least one spark plug after multiple attempts. In addition, they ran a software update which again, was not scheduled.Lastly, in spite of warning me beforehand that I would need to pay a diagnostic charge, everything ended up being covered as warranty work so I ended up paying nothing!Great customer service! Given the choice, I would gladly return in the future!
I cant say enough about Capital Volvo. Selena, Jack, Dylan and Mike were all wonderful. I live in Massachusetts, about 45 minutes from Albany. I was worried about buying a car out of state, but it was a painless process from start to end. I bought a 2017 S60 Inscription. We saw the car online, set up a test drive on a Wednesday. Their finance department got us a lower interest rate than our local credit by 2 full points and they gave me a really fair value for my trade that had very high miles. Monday Mike came to my work in Lee for me to sign, then to Pittsfield for my husband to sign, and then registered it for us at the RMV. RMV issued temporary plates and we picked it up the next night. My permanent plates and registration came in the mail 3 days later. They are extremely professional, not pushy at all, and really just want to help you get in the right car for you. I highly recommend Capital Volvo and they likely have a new customer for life. Thank you!
Worse experience of my life. The sales department was great but the service a nightmar. Volvo service department detailed our car before we bought it and ended up scratching the whole driverside and the worse part, did not tell us they damaged it. The next day we discovered the damage and dealership took responsibility and agreed to repair it. They had the car for about 7 days to, when we got the car back, not only did they not fix the original scratches; but they made it worse by scratching up the, passenger side, front, rear, interior and scrapped our front rim. The manager Eric Rosen refused to repaint the car or take responsibility or give us the address of the place they took the car to have it repaired. We are now forced to go through our own insurance to fix the damages the dealership caused.,which will cost us thousands.Both my husband and I have attempted to reach out to the CEO of Capitol Luxury Cars ERIC KAHN and he not only blocked my husbands email; but I emailed him through my email address and he ignored me. My husband I are spending the word every chance we get about this heartless, shady dealership. How can you screw a customer over like this and not deal with the issue is beyond me. Horrible business practice! Shame on the CEO ERIC KAHN for turning a blind eye to both my husband and I and not helping us to resolve this matter.

WARNING: DO NOT USE CAPITAL VOLVO CARS OF 347 NEW KARNER ROAD ALBANY,NY! I actually read the bad reviews on this dealership,went against my better judgement and used them anyway. I bought a used 2017 Toyota Sienna off their Volvo lot. The car was immaculate inside and out and this was confirmed by a independent shop I brought it to before I purchased it. The day I picked up the van, it was dark outside and they had the van parked in a very odd spot tucked up close to the dealership building, ( at the time I didnt think much of the odd positioning of the van.) Got the van home that night. The next morning I go outside to look at the van and found hundreds of scratches all of the driver side. Apparently when they detailed the car, ( before I picked it up ),they scratched it up. This explains why the driver side of the van was parked so snug against the wall of the dealership, they were trying to hide the damage. Make a long story short, I took the van back the very next morning and they apologized for damage and said, it would all be fixed. They had my car for over a week and when I went back to pick it up, not only was the original damage not repaired correctly, but there was new scratches on the passenger side, as well as the passenger side. I had the service manager Eric Rosen come out to look at the scratches and he said, I will not repaint the car just too expensive but they would send the car back out to there shop called Best Body located in Latham/Cohoes area.( It was later confirmed this shop does not exist ) . I asked Mr. Rosen, what is the address of this shop and who worked on my car? Mr. Rosen stated; I do not have to give you that information. I asked him several more times and he would not tell me the address of where my car was repaired. At one point, Mr. Rosen tried to back track and say, actually the car was not sent out it was repaired here at Volvo. LIAR!! Also, I dropped my car off at Volvo with 57466 miles and when I picked it up, it had 57486, so they put 20 miles on my car. So my question now is, if the car never left Volvo for repair, why is there 20 miles added onto my mileage? Mr. Rosen and the rest of the shady staff I dealt with at Capital Luxury Cars, could not answer that question either. Shame on Capital Volvo Cars of Albany! Shame on the CEO of Capital Volvo Cars Eric Kahn for ignoring my emails. Going to make sure everyone knows about this horrible dealership, ( i.e channel local news, AG, BBB, and anyone who will listen!
Came in for a repair to my sunroof that was being covered by another dealership. The staff was super professional and friendly and took care of my Xc90 in a quick and efficient manner (replaced the entire sunroof gasket and re-initialized it in about 2.5 hrs. The showroom was clean and spacious and the leather chairs and coffee made the wait relaxing! I didn’t buy my Xc90 here but I’ll definitely consider it the next time I’m in the market and I’ll get my service work done here for the foreseeable future
Jim was awesome to work with. I came absolutely set on the XC90 and he was patient while we tried all of the SUV sizes out before I settled on the XC60. I do NOT need 7 seats, even if the car looks nice! He took the time to explain all of the small features, and gave really great options within my budget. The experience was superb and absolutely far from what I encountered at all of the other dealers that I visited.Edit: Jim retired and I followed up with another dealer, I think Conor was his name? And he had an attitude on the phone and NEVER followed up with me. Will be purchasing my Volvo in another dealership.
Capital Volvo has been great with all of my servicing needs. They go above and beyond making sure my car runs optimally. First, I love my XC60! It drives and handles so well. I love all the safety features too. They even pick up and return my car car in Queensbury while leaving me with a new Volvo to drive! I haven’t had to go to the dealership in Albany since I bought my car. I’m very impressed and will be definitely be driving Volvos forever!
Skip Albany and call Newburgh, much more professional. Albany sales, Logan Rosen, rude and lazy, and blamed his not getting back to us or being able to find a car for us on his sales manager (who had same last name). lying or incompetent nepotism, either way who cares, why deal with that nonsense.Called dealership in Newburgh and bought a car from them instead. We live in Albany so having to drive an hour and a half literally passing the Albany dealership on the way seemed ridiculous but so glad we did! sales guy there was awesome and got us a great car at a great price, fast. They also offered 5% discount for healthcare workers that Albany never mentioned. Said it was related to Covid response so may extend to other essential workers, not sure but worth looking into.
Alissa Kurant was exceptionally attentive, thorough and accessible from start to finish. I really appreciated her efforts to keep me informed about the service that is recommended for my car, especially under these remote operations procedures. My service, generally, was coordinated with ease and conducted with expediency and care.
This dealership is exceptional. When we first went to the dealership to consider buying a Volvo, we did not expect that the vehicle would be prepped and ready to take home that day, particularly due to the time we first arrived at the dealership. The vehicle has been free of any issues and we have only had to bring the vehicle in for routine service. Service personnel are very pleasant and knowledgeable, and the work was done timely. The car was cleaned inside and out when done. Would definitely purchase a Volvo from this dealer again.
My Volvo S60 broke down on the Thruway three hours away from my home. It was towed to Capitol Volvo where I had an exceptional experience. Service Advisor Anthony DeCrescente arranged transportation to the car rental facility, fixed the car in one day, and even made sure it was washed and waxed!
Ive dealt with other volvo dealerships in my 45years of driving Volvos but there has never been one as good as Capital Volvo. The sevice manager would go out of his way to help you. The guys in parts department are the same way. The technician one of a kind.Kudos to the people who at the front desk initiate the start of the job. I would use the names of everyone who helped me but they might get upset. If you want your car fixed go there. SATISFIED COSTUMER

This dealership is the absolute worst we have every dealt with!5 years ago the sales staff was great (Nick in particular). After that we had to deal with the service department for a Volvo S80 bought from Capital. We brought the vehicle in for regular services and received a bill for thousands of dollars in work performed. No call. No notice, nothing. Thought we were getting an oil change and had $2,200 of service work done.Fast forward a few years and we purchased a Land Rover LR4. Drove over 3 hours to another Land Rover dealership so we did not need to deal with them. Because the LR is under warranty we had no choice to but to deal with service at Capital. Without exception every single service person (including the manager) have been rude, condescending, and down right awful. After bringing it in to have a hitch installed the car came back and now has the check engine light on. After calling to inquire if there was a reason for that the manager just said in a condescending tonewell that is coincidental, isnt it.Never, ever, ever going back. Will drive to Manchester VT from now on if I need dealership service.If you own a Land Rover save yourself a huge headache and find an independent mechanic. If you have not purchased a Land Rover or Volvo and are considering it, dont. Buy a different car. As nice as the cars are this dealership is not worth dealing with.Cannot say enough bad things about them.
I hope this dealership will learn something from this review. Volvo makes a great product - I am on my 3rd. However, I never bought a car from this dealership - and never will. I instead went over the border to Mass with a dealer that values my business. The service at Cap Volvo is really very bad - I am now on my 3rd attempt to speak with someone about water leaking into my xc60 - had to leave a message... again. This has been going on now for 2 weeks, and nobody calls me back.
Everyone was awesome, and so friendly. We were driving through Albany and something was wrong with our fuel tank- what was an urgent matter. We were received with care and they were able to resolve the issue within a day. I even called a couple weeks later and Ed addressed my questions with concern and care. I live in Westchester and am almost tempted drive 3 hours to this service center because the Volvo in my area is never a pleasant experience.
The whole experience of leasing our sixth Volvo during the NY Covid/Stay at Home time was stress less and smooth -- from checking out the possible cars online, the initial sales call with Jim Lamar, the private sales appointment with Jim, the finance dept, to our pickup day of our 2020 S60. The whole team at Capital Volvo was terrific. Jim paved the way for us into another Volvo lease. Thank you!
Forget about talking to someone in the Service Department. They dont answer their phones and dont return voice mails. If you choose to wait with your car, expect to be there at least an hour longer than they tell you, and if you drop off, dont expect them to call to let you know your car is ready. I guess I have to be psychic to know when to arrange a ride for picking up my car. Call me demanding, but if I buy a luxury car, I expect at a minimum, decent customer service.
This is the worst Service department that I have ever dealt with. After the last time when I was in for service I vowed never to return. I was left waiting for two hours for my care to be taken in for an oil change that I had made an appointment for. I even wrote to Volvo to complain.But this weekend my Volvo broke down and I needed to bring it to Capital Volvo for warranty repairs. Called Service today to get a status report, no answer, leave a message. Used their chat line, told to call service manager, leave message. So now Im waiting around again waiting for the service department to call me, if and when they call. I used the time to write a review. Dont buy from Capital Volvo.
I thought I had the first appointment at 7:30 a.m. but saw someone else was already there and waiting in his car. Then someone else arrived and parked directly outside the entrance instead of in a parking spot like me and customer number one. Guess who was taken first? You guessed it! Customer number three. I was disappointed that the staff people did not attempt to find out who arrived first and second.
We have purchased a many # of vehicles and can say with confidence and from experience, Selena at Capital Volvo has been the best salesperson to work with by far. She gets it done and listens to your needs, is honest, quite knowledgable about the product, steers in the right direction with confidence and ability to be efficient under a tight deadline. I could not have asked for a better experience at a dealership. My salesperson, Codi Sullivan, was extremely responsive to all the ridiculous questions I had and went beyond the call of duty. Even after the sale, her level of responsiveness has not diminished. I live in DC and completed most of the transaction remotely. Extremely Painless. Not to mention, that there were no dealer fees other than tax, title and registration costs. No doubt I will be buying another vehicle from them in the future. I have been taking my 2006 V-70 there for the last 4 years, Overall they do a good job. The usual hassles when dealing with warranties but each time things were done to my satisfaction. They often miss little things on services such as lubing the door locks or checking tire pressure, not a big deal.I have owned Volvos for 30 years and Capital is the best dealer I have dealt with. I currently own three Volvos, five in total. I started bringing my cars to Capital Volvo after Nemith closed. Theyve been extremely accommodating and helpful. They happen to have two of the best Volvo mechanics Ive encountered, Bill H and John B. Because of the service I received, I recently purchased another Volvo from them. The car had some issues for the first four months. Even though these problems were not Capitals fault, they took them very seriously and worked diligently with Volvo to eventually solve all of the issues. They were always the best to work with. I only bring my cars to them, even for a flat tire. You get what you pay for!
I just had a very frustrating experience here this morning. I brought my car in last week, simply for an oil change. It took them more than 3 hours to do an oil change. When I got my car back, I found out the front sensing radar isnt working properly. After going back and forth several times, I paid extra money for replacing the sensor wiring harness, the sensor is still not functioning well. The last time I called them, they said theyll charge me another service fee to run a diagnose.
My 2008 volvo s80 v8 was towed there after my poor baby went into limp mode because of my cylinders misfiring. I had just replaced the plugs and coils so I was at a loss. Tony was my service dept. Assistant and could not have been more helpful in everyway!!!! Gregg also was a huge help when I locked my keys in my car right after i left! They sent a tow truck to come open my car up for free!!! That dealership is amazing!!!! I previously was a car salesman so I was weary about the idea of going to a dealership but capital volvo now has a %110 loyal customer! They fixed my baby and she runs better than when I first got it. I cannot express how satisfied and how relieved I am. I know for a fact that I can trust the mechanics and the other workers at capital volvo of Albany well worth the hour ride from me. Selena Dutcher did a terrifc job. No pressure and very supportive. In addition to assisting us with our purchase she helped with the transition of our used XC60 to our daughter. She made her fell like a new car owner. The Caplux and a Volvo incentives were too good to pass up. Being a repeat owner was noted and rewarded. Now all we have to do is figure out the electronics.
I just got my Volvo S40 back from THREE WEEKS of incompetency and excuse-making with these people. My car broke down on I-87 coming back from vacation, and because it was a pretty bad engine failure, It was recommended that it be towed to the nearest Volvo dealership, which happened to be Capital Volvo.From the get-go, there we issues. Over the course of 3 weeks, these people ordered incorrect parts THREE TIMES from warehouses all over the country. I was beginning to believe Id never have my car back. Getting a hold of them someone during this time was borderline impossible, because the Dan Wissenbach, the service advisor who was handling my car, would NEVER CALL ME BACK. On the blue moon occasion I would get a hold of him, it was never good news. Either parts delays, more wrong parts or more things found broken.To make up for this travesty in customer service, Capital Volvo offered to pay for a rental car for me. Fair enough. This turned out to be a lie, because even though Id made it clear I had been on vacation (I live an hour and a half south of Albany), they still thought I was somewhere in the Capital region, and the only rental car theyd cover is from their office up there.Finally, after 3 weeks of waiting and 500 dollars later (my warranty was good to me), I finally convinced them to drive the car down to me after it was done. less than 24 hours later, my check engine light is on. 48 hours after that, my oil light is on whenever I idle. Now my car is making terrible whirring noises and I cant turn it back on for fear of grinding the engine down to nothing.NONE of this was an issue before I dropped my car with them. I had my oil changed before going on vacation. These idiots put my engine back together wrong, and now Im looking at another 200 dollar deductible AT LEAST to replace an oil pump that had been never been a problem for me.In one last futile attempt I reached out to Capital Volvo, who told me this was my problem, and not at all related to anything they did (though this is a brand new problem less than 3 days old and 20 miles driven).Watch out for Dan who will promise you the moon and under-deliver, and Ed, who told me this was my problem.
This is still in progress but I will also be reaching out to Capital One our bank to share this experience. I wanted to purchase a Landcover Evoque for my wife. We located a car, called and the salesperson told us that it was available. My wife over the last 24 hours has been going back and forth with the salesperson who assured us that he put the keys in the drawer to the car as we would be coming from Long Island and wanted to make sure the car was there. She received a call this morning that the car wasnt there and a mistake was made by the new General Manager but another car was available and that our deposit would be moved to that car to hold the vehicle. Our deposit was taken and when my wife called back this evening, not even receiving a call to let us know she was advised the the second car we put a deposit on was gone and again promised to someone else who came from Buffalo. When I called the dealership we were offered a car that was now $10k more.. Very disappointed in the service weve received so far and it appears that their is a definite issue with inventory knowledge at this dealership. As stated before we will be looking to share this with our bank Capital One to provide insights to other customers.
Big shout out to the service department of Capital Volvo Albany. Adviser was Anthony DeCrescente. He took us in with no appointment on a Saturday at 10.30am because our Check Engine Light was on. We are from out of State and were on a road trip in VT. Wondered whether our car would get us home to North NJ with the CEL. Anthony and his tech team analyzed the prob, updated software, tested the car, gave it a nice wash and we were on our way. Top class service. Credit to the Volvo brand.
Service department is rude and frustrating. They repaired a small part that has fallen off of my S60 3 times! Now that it’s fallen off again within a month of the last repair (and left a hole in the front of my car), they refuse to repair it. Not only that, now they falsely report communications regarding their service. In addition, apparently they only guarantee a repair once. Needless to say, we will never buy another Volvo and certainly won’t buy any other car from Capital Volvo.
Took three days to get someone to answer the phone. First day after several attempts was told by person who answered the phone that there was only one service writer and it was busy, could I call another time. After this, I kept getting voicemail that was in the general mailbox no one returned messages for two days. Finally, rather than asking for service I dialed for the parts department and ask the person to NOT transfer me to service but to listen to my frustration. She put me on hold, found a service writer and had my call taken. The actual service went fine. Upselling as always, that is my biggest gripe about this dealership. The service writer was friendly and was doing her job as I know she has been trained to do.
Sooo i just took my car here I had an 11:30 appointment my car did not go in until quarter to 1 Im not sure why you make an appointment and you never bring my car in even close to that time not to mention the test driver took my car for a test drive and was gone for an hour does my gas bill come off the price of my alignment do we get paid while we sit there and wait for the car to go indo I tell the doctors too bad you must wait because my car need an alignment and thats much more important than my sons doctors app needless to say the car does not go straight it pulls have you right with all this being said I absolutely do not recommend bringing your car to people they do not know what is up or what is down !!!!!!!! I pray that you all get diarrhea and poop ur pants like a 6 yr old
I brought my 2016 Volvo in for 50,000 mile service: oil change, lube the joints, tire rotation, transmission flush, etc. What I was charged for/came out with was the tires in the same position (the mechanic adjusts them if needed), LOW TRANSMISSION FLUID warning when I was 25 miles from anywhere to purchase (I was never told ahead of time that an air bubble could rise and lower the level, so it would be best to have coolant handy), and windshield washer fluid that freezes the winter. I may be skeptical but I think I was charged $500 for pretty much an oil change. I will be going to a local private Volvo mechanic from now on. At least there, I will be able to speak to a mechanic where at Capital they seemed to be quarantined.
Ive been going there for many years never n I mean never had a single problem. The best part is I travel 3hrs to go there, they are the best. Im sure when you read this you will say thats nuts, but, you never see me on the side of the road broke down its because the people at Capital Volvo. GO THERE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. 1998 S70 GLT RUNS LIKE A SWISS WATCH.
I just bought a XC60 R-Design from Capital Volvo. I had gone to another dealer in the area, and had a very bad experience. Granted, I only just bought my XC60, so I dont yet know about their service, but my adviser (Jim Vezzi) was a pleasure to work with as well as everyone else that I had interaction with at the dealership. I absolutely love my car, and if things continue so well, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Capital and buy from them again in the future. Very much a hassle free experience.

2022-01-18First time visit with my 2004 Volvo for airbag recall repair. Was delighted to be able to drive right into a clean enclosed carport to enter the service office without even going outside. Professional reception service and and very quick service. I didn’t utilize the waiting area that was offered but received a quick call when service was completed. I was happily surprised to find my car sparkling clean when I picked it up because it was covered with road spray when I dropped it off. Very impressed with our service experience today. Thank you.

It did NOT!! Solution much less costly— a battery replacement, only. Definitely worth my time to travel 1.5 hours for expert Volvo service and peace of mind !!!

2022-04-06They accepted my early drop off for regular maintenance, as I had to leave town later in the day. They offered a complimentary ride when car was ready, but did not call for almost 2 hours after offering. I paid in cash and the checkout person took forever to take my cash and type in computer. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They rinsed dirt off the outside of my car and did some light vacuuming on the front flooring. The new building is very open.
