Hands down the best Italian deli in Schenectady! Imported Italian olives, oils, and delicacies. Homemade dishes ranging from pastas and salads to desserts and cookies. The deli counter features Boars Head products which are the best. They make a 12 sub loaded with meat for the same pride as some of the chain sub stores, oh how good those are. Specialties change by the day. I hate to miss any of them.
I have to say this being My parents frequented this deli since opening. And I guess I’ll have to travel long distance for descent cold cuts since you were the last strong hold of Italian quality cold cuts. The service has deteriorated since Lucy left. It took 45 minutes for 2 cold cuts to be sliced and in a poor manner. Lucy could have 10 different orders done under 15 minutes and wrapped with care. Mine were just thrown on the paper not sliced thin enough after telling her. I asked for a cake slice of fontina cheese and instead I got 2 broken off pieces that were old. We asked for grated pecorino and Lucy always fresh grated it for us and asked it we wanted the bits too knowing mom used them. 2 premade bags were given to us. If I wanted old pre grated I’d go to a market. The zeppole were less than desirable I found one raisin in mine. Generous. The lady that used to make them obviously isn’t there anymore. Mom and I miss your parents Lucy and they definitely left the place in good hands with you but now forget it. I’m sure the catered food and subs for those that don’t make them at home are still good. But without you in the store it will never again live up to the standards you set. Saddened long standing customer
Pros: authenticity, variety, pleasant service, food is amazing, prices are reasonableCons: its often busy at lunch time, the above pros can draw a crowdIve been here three times now for lunch, the most recent, and the picture below, I had to get my sandwich made on a hard sandwich roll because a full size sub is too much food, they pack it with too much stuff.
Terrible, I used to get subs here years ago and they were fantastic, I stopped there on Friday and when I got home I was sorely sorry. The Italian sub had 1layer of cappy 1 layer of provolone 3 layers of Genoa salami and 5 or 6 layers of cheap cooked ham. It was not an Italian sub, it sucked.
Three words describe Capri’s, Quality, Quality, Quality! I will definitely be back in the near future. I was blown away by the politeness of the staff & when I got home to eat my Italian Mix sub I was in disbelief, it was so good, thinly sliced quality cold cuts & an awesome cannoli for dessert.
So many good things to say about this gem of a place in rotterdam NY. Baked ham is amazing specially when you get it on their homemade loaf of bread as a sub. Their pasta fagioli absolutely delicious and those of you who love salami they have an imported salami that you must get. You can put it on sandwiches or better yet a charcuterie board.
You want real Italian deli fanfare? This is the place. I always choose mom and pop over the large chains but this place is absolutely wonderful. Everything you need for you Sunday dinners with grandma. Try a sub on their homemade bread, enough meat to take home and make it into 2 sandwiches!
Incredible Italian deli. You will not be disappointed with a sub from here. They stack the meat a mile high. I will usually get one and split it with my husband and also am able to take off meat from the sandwich and make at least another hefty 2 sandwichs for the next day.
Visited for the first time yesterday and people had not exaggerated in their reviews. The sandwich was massive and delicious. There were a few locals that helped me in the ordering process and the staff was kind. Highly recommend, but go with an appetite or someone to help you tackle!
Food service and product quality is great. The house roast beef sub blew me away. Being from Chicago and raised on Italian Beef ....this House Roast Beef is a close second. Capri Imports reminds me of all the friendly mom.pops joints at home. I highly recommend this joint. Thank you
Best for your Subs!! This little Italian place that sits on the corner of Broadway & Thirteenth in Schenectady cannot be Beat! The quality and amount of their meats that they put on their subs is just too much. The prices cannot be beat! The sub rolls seem homemade and not bulky so you dont fill up on bread like at other places. They put lettuce, tomato and onions on but dont stack it on heavy to make up for the lack of meats. There is so much meat on these subs you can practicality take some out and make another sandwich lol, literally. With their homemade, fresh ingredients and friendly staff, Capri sure knows how to take care of your needs. Perfect place for Subs and all your Italian product needs. They are also an Italian store where you can purchase all sorts of products from, jarred peppers, to homemade pasta, sauce, to their own take home lasagna in the freezer. What more could you ask for? So what can you loose? Give it a try, mark it in your calendar, and make a point to stop in and try something. You wont be disappointed...I guarantee :)
Bought 5 full subs yesterday... would of been great subs if they didnt use that disgusting prebagged lettuce. The subs totally sucked. Yes can i have some processed nasty tasting lettuce on my sub...thanks. Be cheaper to slice up a head and give people real ingredients... unbelievable how either lazy or how they think its more cost efficient.. Its not cost efficient when it costs you customers. Ill never order there again. Change your name to Crapi deli.. it be more accurate
I had the BEST baked ham sandwich I’ve every had while on lunch break during a job in the city. Soooo much delicious meat!! That was 30 years ago. I never had the opportunity to revisit this amazing deli since. I’ve told many friends and family about Capri’s over the years because I’ll never forget the name or the taste. It left THAT much of an impression on me. I’m retired in Florida now but if I’m ever anywhere close to Schenectady, I will make a detour and check it off my bucket list. Still the best I’ve ever had!
Anyone who asks me where to go for TRUE ITALIAN deli... Its here.Anyone can import. What separates any eatery is what they DONT import - aka - MAKE domestically - aka - Homemade.Just ask: What do you make here?PS. The only thing better than their food is their hospitality. It feels like home - and there is no place like home.

2018-05-31Capri probably has the biggest subs Ive ever seen. Get your sub on the Italian bread, it tastes amazing! Everything is always fresh, and the prices are very fair for the amount of food you end up getting. Service is always quick and friendly. We love this place and will always be coming back.

2018-02-06I found this deli using Yelp. The meats are good quality, the bread is fresh, and while the subs are a little on the lean side... for $6.95 its a fair price. Add-ons are limited (no black olives, no artichoke hearts) but if you want a simple affordable sub, this is the place.

2022-03-01Came from Florida and they no longer sell fresh natural casing hotdogs, have yet to try the fresh mozzarella balls or bologna
