Would give zero stars if I could. I took a budgeting course with 2 other women. I was the only one who actually put effort in to the assignments and also had perfect attendance. They let everyone graduate regardless of effort or attendance. We were then supposed to get the HUGE reward of a $25 Price Chopper gift card. Now, of the 3 I’m the only one who really SHOULD have graduated, and I’m the only one who DIDNT receive the gift card. They said it “got lost in the mail,” which has never happened to me in 6 years at this place.I was then placed with a mentor. Things were going well. The most recent “assignment” he has given me was to track every Penny going in and and keep receipts. I did this diligently for 4 months. I met with him and we totaled it up and reassessed my financial goal. Also during that time I had broken my hip and was unable to drive. I was also dealing with mind numbing pain with no treatment or medication. Shortly after he and I reassessed my goals I was LET GO from the program, because I was unable to leave my house and also because I had to modify my goals in a way that they didn’t approve of due to my new disability.I honestly have nothing good to say about this place. My first and only meeting with Bonnie and my mentor went great. And a couple months later the rug was pulled out from under me. I even had pages and pages of the expenses my mentor had asked me to track to prove that despite my lackOf mobility I was still working hard. What do you expect from an ableist world. I was let down on all sides. In addition to being low income, disabled and unable to work, I am SEVERELY mentally ill do this type of rejection/lackOf support was deadly.

Published pictures of my kids without permission. Disgusting, unethical, and wrong. No reputable organization would do such a thing.

Great agency helping families in our community. They provide a range of support from: Teen Talk hotline, to financial support and family development programs, to housing assistance, food pantry, street outreach, compassionate outreach to youth who have experienced trafficking, to their Care Links program that assists elders... and more. Were fortunate to have CAPTAIN in our community.

This past year has been the hardest year of my life , from my wife of 19 years passing away to being pulled out of work do to extreme damage to my lungs . I have lost everything I have worked so hard for and I mean everything . From the first time I walked into Captains they have made me feel like I still matter in this world . Im so thankful for them .
