I had my car towed to my local Volvo dealer (Northtown Volvo) when it wouldnt start, & after 2 weeks, they were not able to repair it, so I had it towed back to Volvo Cars of Rochester, where we had previous service done. We got our repaired car back the next day. Thank you for the expertise & professionalism if this service department.
We got our XC 90 T8 last week. The whole car buying experience was completely seemless. I worked with Mitchell and would highly recommend working with him. Very satisfied with my purchase of an xc60 inscription at Volvo of Rochester, worked with Mitchell the salesperson and Joe the business manager. They were able to offer great prices for both car and extended warranty. Made the deal over email and facetimd without much hassle. There was a slight mishap in the tax processing as I was out of town buyer, but they agreed to discount the fees for me to make another trip to local dmv and get title myself.Overall was a very reasonable and honest dealership that offered a great deal, would purchase there again!
Sophisticated cars like Volvo, should be serviced only by detail oriented master mechanics.Mechanics like that are hard to come by, but Volvo Rochester (Garber Group) has a lot of them in their arsenal!!!I was in and out in less than 1 hour, great experience, awesome costumer service. Bad start after trading 2019 XC60 for a 2022 S60!Car was sold with 3 mos SiriusXM trial printed on window sticker. Trial no longer exists. SiriusXM also now charges $15 to transfer service between old and new vehicles.Had a unrepairable sidewall blowout a week after taking delivery. No replacement tires available for over two weeks. Dealer had no loaners available while waiting for new replacement tire. Traded in a 2019 Volvo for the 2022 and now Ive got nothing to drive.
You all were ‘lifesavers’ for me! I was visiting Rochester from NJ to close my Dad’s house sale (he passed away in January) and my V60 decided it was quitting time the afternoon before I was supposed to head home. I frantically called Volvo Rochester, and Paul and team took me in, diagnosed the problem and put in a new starter by 5:30pm that evening. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I brought my Volvo in today for inspection and scheduled maintenance at Garber Volvo Rochester. For me, this is the only place that I would bring my Volvo in for service. My interactions with the service department have always been very positive and I am always greeted warmly and professionally. Service is completed in a timely manner and work done is thoroughly explained. Recommend them highly!
Volvo Cars Rochester has been a very helpful and honest dealer with all my recent car dealings. I have purchased several Volvos there in the past, both for myself and my wife. Most recently, purchased a 2015 228i all wheel drive BMW and a 2017 Kia Soul. Both were purchased in excellent condition with everything in the vehicles working perfectly well and looking in New condition. The service at this dealership as well as the sales department is totally non threatening, open with costs and all professionally presented. I will stay with this dealership for the rest of my driving years.
I trust them with my R Design. Work has always been fantastic. When I needed snow tires they were cheaper than anyplace local or internet.Update: My first review was four years ago. They did a great job of maintaining my S60 but then I switched to an S90 and my wife got an XC90. We happened to get them used elsewhere, but the way this dealership treated us never changed. Theyre always friendly, professional and I have never once gotten the feeling that what they recommend isnt necessary. They are fantastic and theyre the only people Im taking our Volvos to.

I don’t typically write reviews, but I had to share after having not one but two negative experiences with this dealership. I initially came here looking at a used car. After testing driving, I really liked the car but wasn’t 100% sure so Brian (the salesperson) suggested I sleep on it and he would call me in two days, as he was off the next day, to follow up. Ultimately, I ended up deciding I wanted to make an offer and I called Brian. The first words out of his mouth were “I didn’t want to call you because the car sold yesterday”. Now, I don’t blame Brian in the slightest for the car selling the day before. I knew I was taking my chances by thinking on it. However, being a good salesperson entails following up with your clients. So, to say that you purposely didn’t call me to tell me the car sold didn’t sit well. Then he said “well, maybe the car didn’t sell. They put a deposit on it but we haven’t arranged for financing or delivery.” I told Brian I was still interested in making an offer if the other people backed out. Brian promised he would call me by 6pm to let me know. I shouldn’t have been surprised that 6pm rolled around with no phone call. I called Brian the next day and he told me it officially sold. At that point, I was a little irritated with the lack of follow up so I told him I would have appreciated a call to let me know. He rudely said “well, I didn’t know last night it had sold.” Yes, Brian, but you clearly knew that morning, as I called you direct and you didn’t even have to go ask anyone. You knew straightaway the car wasn’t available and therefore you could have called me that morning to tell me.After that experience, I was a bit soured with the dealership. After a manager (Joe) heard about the negative experience, he set me up with Jimmy to look for a new Volvo. I spoke to Jimmy once, to outline what I was looking for. After promising to “be my new best friend” and be in constant contact with me, I never heard from him again. The last time I spoke with him, he was going to look at a dealer trade and would call me by the next day, at the latest. That was over a month ago.Perhaps if you are buying a car straight off the lot, the same day, you’ll have a fine experience. But don’t expect any sort of follow up from this dealership.

Overall, I am extremely happy with my 2022 XC-60 and the service I received. However, one of the key features I was excited to get was the remote car start. Unfortunately, service told be this may not be available until January or maybe even later. I understand this is not something within the dealerships control, but it is disappointing especially since it sounds like I will spend most of the winter without it.
Bought a car from Garber Volvo through the overseas delivery program. It was a bit more complicated than a normal transaction but Jimmy did a good job of working with me in a timely manner. Hes very personable and informative. Joe helped me secure an excellent deal on financing. Overall, great experience!

Jimmy, my salesman absolutely knows his product and I appreciate his professionalism and personality. I recently had my 2011 Volvo R60 serviced at Best Motors, Rochester, NY, and was, as usual, very pleased by the quality of that service. I was especially pleased by the care taken by the service person, Jim, and the rest of the staff to clean and disinfect the car inside and out. My wife and I are elderly and have underlying health conditions— and also have not yet been able to get the Covid vaccine!—so this attention to our needs—given gladly, without any fuss or persuasion—was a great, great relief. Highly recommended!
I had purchased a preowned 2016 S60 in 2019 from Best Volvo with a 100,000 mile Volvo extended warranty sold by Best. I decided to lease a new XC 60 6/28/21 from Northtown in Buffalo. Extremely happy with Volvo and extremely disappointed with the Garber owned Volvo in Rochester. After claiming a rebate on my extended warranty of approximately 1,100 dollars I received a check from Volvo of Rochester for slightly over $ 500. The explanation given by Volvo Rochester ( Garber) was they do not assume all obligations from Best???? Lessons learned:1)Garber has extremely poor business ethics!2)NEVER buy an extended warranty from a dealership. Especially given the current climate of buy outs and mergers!3)I am very happy I went to Northtown for my new Volvo .4) Of the four dealers I contacted for quotes ….Rochester Volvo was the least competitive by a long shot!5) After the buyout personnel changes in service has resulted in chaos and a lack of required skill as key individuals left the company!Bottom line take a drive to purchase your Volvo else where. It’s obvious they feel comfortable in what it is felt to be a captive market!
David B. in the service department is the best, he has a vast knowledge of all types and vintages, especially Volvo! David is the one that gives me confidence and trust in the Volvo brand. I hope Volvo recognizes the professional they have in their service department and value him as I’m sure many of the other Volvo clients probably feel the same as I do. Had our 2016 XC90 worked on today, new rotors and brakes. David knew exactly what was the issues, called me later with the estimate and it was ready to pick up right on time. We have purchased three new vehicles from Volvo in the last 5 years. Honestly if it wasn’t for David we would consider a different brand. Although I haven’t had much of any contact with the people beyond the service desk, I feel they must be as great as David as I have never had to bring back a vehicle for the same issue after a service. The service department at Volvo Rochester, NY is one of a kind, we highly recommend Rochester Volvo as a result!

I brought my vehicle in for its 60,000 mile maintenance service. Everyone that I dealt with was friendly & helpful. Jim was especially great! He kept in contact with me throughout the day giving me updates and explaining my options. He also went out of his way to save me some money!
Great service department. The guys/gals are friendly and on point. The waiting area is excellent: well appointed, with nice furniture, and constantly refreshed with free snacks, coffee, soda. There is even an office available. Definitely no problems getting some work done while waiting.Im only dinging one star because of a baffling recent sales experience. I am coming off lease with another Volvo, purchased at this dealership. The car I want this dealership does not have in stock, but Ive spent over three weeks working with one of their sales people to get one from another dealership. This individual exhibited a consistent lack of follow-through on a timeline offered by them. They were easy to deal with and talk with--just simply failed to ever take the deal all that seriously for some reason. I reached out to another Wester NY dealer and am picking up this week.Based on other overwhelmingly positive reviews, I think I just fell through the cracks somehow, but when my new lease is up Ill be back to try again and, in the meantime, certainly use Volvo Cars ROC for service needs.Update: Had to ding another star. Contacted Volvo Cars Roc again in October/21, and another salesman just fell off the map, failing to get back to me on something he said he would. I do not anticipate working with their sales department again.

Made a 7:45 AM appointment for a 15,000 mile oil change, inspection and tire rotation. There was only one other person in the waiting area when I arrived. During my wait three other maintenance people arrived, had their cars serviced and left. at 9:30 i went back to ask what was taking so long and was told that it was almost done, they just have to test drive it and wash it. At 9:50 it finally came out to the pick up area still dripping wet. My free service ended up costing me 2 hours of lost time at work.........not a very good deal after all................
I wish I could give them 0 stars. We needed a car right away, we mentioned to Jimmy when we put down the deposit for the car. We also told him we want to buy a car with cash but he insisted they will check their loan to see how much monthly cost will be. We liked the car, we liked Jimmy when we talked to him in the dealership so we agreed and waited for answers when we could get a car and loan info. He actually never got back to us when he was supposed to give us all the info. My husband kept trying to reach him to his cell phone or the dealership, I almost feel like he doesnt really care about selling this car.I understand he doesnt have a say for giving us a car with the recall issue, but all we need from him, when could we get the car? and if we cant get the car, can we get a loan car while we are waiting.Also shockingly, we got the letter from the dealership saying that they rejected giving us a car loan, its speechless. First of all, we never need the loan from you guys and that could affect our credit score (we have great credit). When you try to sell the car, dont just sell the product because we already know Volvo is a good car, so stop keep talking how great your car is. Plz give your customer answers that they are asking for.The car we try to buy was used Volvo so Im not sure why he was not very helpful because it was just a cheap used car. I dont recommend this Volvo dealership to anybody especially if you want to save your time. They are so unprofessional, what a waste of time!!!!
I am a long time expert Volvo owner. I currently (literally) own four Volvos. Ive written technical papers on user forums, etc. So I know Volvos really well. I am from Buffalo and needed service - the Buffalo dealer couldnt fit me in for three weeks (!). Best Volvo could fit me in the next day. I towed my car the distance, they fixed it immediately. The service Advisor/Manager Dave was fantastic. He and his technician got on the phone with me since this was a very expensive repair and we came up with ideas on how to affordably and reliably approach it. They got my car done in 36 hours and saved me over $1000 (really). I am so impressed its worth the little extra distance. I highly endorse and recommend Best Volvos service department - I am super happy with them.
The diagnostic work revealed repairs to my 2004 Volvo that went beyond the investment required. Based upon the options and guidance of the Service Dept., I decided to invest those dollars in the lease of a new Volvo. I was pleased with the service response, and with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff.
From start to finish the process was effortless did everything via email and was taken care of like I have been a customer for years even though this is my first lease with Volvo. I love my s60 and and counting down the days to be able to do the Polestar Engineered upgrade at the dealer. Thank you Joel and Jimmy for exceeding my expectations! How Swede it is!

I got a 2014 Durango. They claimed they went thru it and fixed any issues it had. We waited 4 days from pickup date for them to go thru it. I finally get it and a week later I see its leaking green fluid. I contact the salesman that sold it to me. No reply. I sent another one finally reached back out to me and told me he look into it. Then never heard anything. Now Im spending over $500 to fix the condenser for my ac. Very poor customer service.

Dave in the service center is always professional, curtious and fast in getting people checked in and out.I purchased during the pandemic; in the months following I’ve been to the service center about 4 times because of minor hiccups like programming my key fob and the two spares, and a glitch w gps. Its a dealership but its one that you can trust. Thier service is extremely thorough and the staff really know Volvos. You could probably get someone else to work on your cars but odds are that youd end up needing to have knowledgeable properly trained folks repair their work. Cut to the chase and let best do it right first. We appreciate the loaner if we need it and a ride if we ask for it...
From California, we needed our 1990 Volvo 240 serviced to make it back home. Service technician Dan was most helpful. He took us to our car and showed us the problem, explaining what was wrong. I would give Best Volvo of Rochester -5 stars if possible! My wife and I were ready to buy a new Volvo based on what the salesperson told us. After much thinking, discussions with the salesperson and the sales manager we settled on a price. We had test drove an XC60 with options we really liked but we wanted a different color. No problem....we found one we wanted. We were told the options were the same but we were getting the exterior and interior color we wanted. The next day I stopped in and put a down payment on it. We hadnt taken the exact car out for a ride so we thought it would be a good idea. We went out for a drive. Honestly, the car is very nice....no complaints about the vehicle. But there were a few things missing....it may sound like Im whining, but there was no heated steering wheel and no rear view parking camera. Come to find out this car didnt have one of the option packages we were told i did. We specifically had asked about it before we agreed this was the car we wanted. We went back in to the sales manager (our sales person wasnt in when we went on this test drive). We said this isnt the car we agreed on. He said ohhhhh no this one doesnt have that and it must have been an honest mistake. Then added we never like selling a car before you go on a test drive. My thoughts are....then why did you take our down payment without suggesting that???? Dont try to blame me because you and your salesperson misrepresented the car in hopes we might just forgive and forget. Then he says...do you expect me to lose money by giving you a $2000 option package? I said YES. If you sold me a car at an agreed upon price that has specific options then YES...it was you who made a bad deal for yourself. I would have understood if they told us that, sorry we dont have a car that fits your wants/needs for that price BEFORE we agreed on a price....ok. But to agree on a price....write up the data...take a $2000 down payment THEN say ooooppsie my bad????!!! No wonder car sales people have a bad reputation!!The sales manager is a -15 on a scale of 1-5. The sales person was nice....but either was a liar or very poorly informed about the car they were selling. I give the sales person a -4 on that same scale.In a few words......DISHONEST....BAIT AND SWITCH.I have already made calls and will take my business elsewhere and will never do business with these people and hope anyone reading this follows the same path.I
We purchased a Volvo XC 90 and the entire process was seamless from start to finish! Excellent customer service from the first online inquiry to everyone we encountered. 2022-05-10I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership and my expectations were exceeded without a doubt. From the moment I stepped onto the lot, I knew my experience was going to be different- in a good way. I had the pleasure of working with Jimmy- he was patient, understanding and knowledgeable. I was able to ask questions, digest the information and make a decision without feeling pressured. I have found a long term vehicle partnership which is something I haven’t confidently stated in the past.

2022-06-16The service department went above and beyond with my S60. My car needed service while visiting family in Ohio. The dealership in Ohio told me my car could not be repaired without a new engine. I called Volvo Cars Rochester and they offered to transport the car to their shop so they could diagnose the issue. Long story short, the car is repaired and running great! Nick and Paul were very professional and friendly. They kept me apprised as they worked through the repair. I highly recommend this service team!

2022-06-23Great experience at Volvo Cars of Rochester. Easiest car buying experience ever! From the minute I test drove the cx40 til time of delivery everything was easy peasy. Very professional staff. Jimmy was easy to talk to, made me feel comfortable with the whole process, never felt pressure to buy the car or any extra warranties, etc. Once the car was delivered, Jimmy was extremely knowledgeable with all the electronics in the car. He answered any questions we had and we never felt rushed even at 6 30pm on his birthday! Thank you Jimmy! I love my new car!

He gave me plenty of time to drive others cars, to price out leasing vs financing. It was educational and painless. 2022-07-19The people at this dealership are unlike any staff at any company, really, but certainly unlike any other dealership I have worked with. While the sales process is always sugar coated and peachy, you never know what you get once you are signed on board with a purchase. My Volvo has been getting serviced here for two years now and I will never go anywhere else! The people are friendly, responsive, organized, accommodating and have wonderful attitudes. Every time has been pleasant, efficient and clear. Also, I know some people avoid dealerships because they fear it is too expensive. That has not been my experience and in fact this most recent visit SAVED me $539. I cannot speak highly enough about the team at Volvo Cars of Rochester. Thank you Jim, Nick, Paul specifically for this last visit!!!

2022-03-08I was having some issues with my Volvo on a Saturday and I went to the service department to see if I could get an appointment that day.. The service department is closed on Saturday, which I failed to look at the door with the letters closed Saturday and Sunday.. However the doors were open and I proceeded to walk in, where I met two teenage boys staring at me.. I asked for Jim and the boys said no Jim but Nick is here and would be up to the desk shortly.. When Nick Fabiano came up and saw me, he smiled and asked how he could help.. Nick didn’t tell me the office was closed, Nick listened, inspected my car, drove it, and said that he would make me an appointment for Monday.. Volvo of Rochester fixed my car, no cost to me, that Monday, and had a shuttle waiting. The service is always exceptional.. I recommend buying a Volvo from this dealer..
