Cara Mia treated my dog so terribly. We picked her up and she was covered in diarrhea and the staff had no idea. They clearly left her alone for hours and did not check in on her at all and they didn’t even offer to clean her up. This was the most ridiculously bad experience we’ve ever had and we will be telling everyone we know in the strongest terms to avoid this place at all costs. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE.
My dog is softer than ever after a trip to Cara Mia and she actually enjoys going! They board too so let you drop off your dog whenever convenient and dont seem to charge any extra to keep them there longer so its SUPER convenient to pick and drop off your pet around work schedules and such. They take a little longer than average to groom but do such a thorough job we think its absolutely worth it :)
I took my puppy to Cara mias to be groomed for the first time, and i will never be going back. I dropped my 5 month old puppy at 1pm. Around 4pm I became worried that I still have not heard from the groomer, so I gave them a call to get an update on my dog. 3 hours after drop off, they inform me that they just bathed her. So at this point it is safe to assume that my puppy sat in a crate for 3 hours straight for no reason at all. The workers reasoning was that my dog was “waiting for the groomer”. Why would she have to wait if her appointment was at 1pm? If this happened at a hair salon any client would walk right out....I asked what time she would be ready and the woman replied back with an attitude that she has no idea and can’t give me an estimate. At 6pm I called back again to find out how she’s doing and now if they have an estimated pick up time because my puppy needed to eat and use the bathroom after spending 5 hours being groomed. She is still young and can’t go that long without water, bathroom breaks, or food. The woman replied back with an attitude again that this isn’t a car wash and takes time and she still cannot provide an estimate because my dog is still waiting for the groomer to begin trimming her. This is 5 hours after dropping her off at her appointment and she hasn’t even begun her trim! I have 2 adult dogs and have been dropping them off at groomers for over a decade and have never had to wait over 3-4 hours for an appointment. At 7pm I called back again and said I will be picking my puppy up no matter what at 8pm please have her ready. The woman had a rude attitude and said she can’t promise she will be done. My puppy has been there for the entire day at this point and she still can’t figure out what time she would be done? When we showed up at 8pm to pick her up, we noticed some things we didn’t like about the haircut and asked why she looked that way. The woman was once again rude during the interaction. This was so frustrating. As soon as we Got home my puppy used the bathroom 4 times in the span of 5Minutes! That’s how badly she had to go. This place prides themselves on unnecessary fancy things such as chandeliers massages and dog martinis? Don’t waste your time or money because they don’t care about making you happy or giving your dog a safe and welcoming experience. This place is an absolute scam and I would have been better off grooming her myself. If I didn’t push them to have her finished by 8pm I’m not sure what time she would’ve been ready. I was not going to let my puppy sit at the groomers for 8 hours! I highly recommend going anywhere except for here. This place is horrible!
I cannot thank them enough for everything Cara Mia has done!My cats were traveling from Canada to Las Vegas through a pet transport company and the logistic was disturbed by all the covid restrictions and the weather, both my cats were not able to board for their last 2 flights and ended up stranded in Buffalo and this is when Cindy from Cara Mia went above and beyond for my cats, she took my cats last minute in her resort and went 3 times at the airport that same week at 4am to try to have them boarding on their flight. She made sure in the meantime during their stay at Cara Mia that they were nursed and comfortable and even took the time to send me pictures and videos to reassure me.I feel lucky that this wonderful person accepted to take care of my cats during these exceptional circumstances and to assist me in this conundrum! My cats are now safe and home and I cannot express how much grateful I am Cindy, Thank YOU!!
This was our second time boarding our Katie here. Shes an older rescue, a poodle mix, so I was initially nervous leaving her. She did great going in this time, I think she remembered it was a good experience the first time she went! I truly feel safe leaving her here!
Unfortunately this is my first negative review I’ve ever had to post. My first mistake was not reading the reviews to this place. My dogs appointment was at 130. I dropped him off and the worker told me that he would be done by 3-4pm and that the appointment may go “a little longer” due to the virus. I understand the precautions they must take and that it may take some extra time. Around 6pm I was nervous that I did not receive an update about my dog. I tried to contact the store multiple times- nobody answered. Finally around 615 my fiancé got through and talked to one of the workers. The worker seemed very confused and frantic as we asked her questions regarding our dog. She stated that he was just finishing his wash and they were going to begin drying him- then cutting his hair. So, I assumed between 130-6pm my dog was sitting in a cage waiting for his turn? Around 8pm I am again nervous. I have tried calling this store over 5 times now just to get in contact with any worker there. Finally a worker answers and says that my dog will be ready to pick up in another half hour. So my dog stayed there for a “grooming” from 130-830pm without one worker contacting me to let me know that the appointment was taking longer than expected. After the worker told me it would be another half hour before I could see my dog again, I asked to speak to the owner to express my concerns and to figure out what my dog had been doing there all day if it took him 5 hours alone to even get a bath. The owner was extremely rude and snippy. Each concern I expressed she immediately shot down with blaming it on the virus. She used excuse after excuse instead of answering my direct questions. She told me that a dog had an accident in their facility and that each employee had to “evacuate” and it slowed them down. I stated that, if they were running behind I would have just taken my dog in at a later time rather than him sitting in a cage all day with no food or water (my dog has very little experience in cages and panics when he is in them, my dog typically eats dinner at 5pm not 9pm) the owner instantly raised her voice and told me that my dog was “placed in a suite with a chandelier and water.” (I’ve read the reviews and many other customers have pointed out the cages that the dogs are placed in during waiting time or boarding)I pointed out that none of the employees took a minute of their time to call me and give me an update that my dogs 3/4 hour appointment would become a 7/8 hour appointment. The owner again raised her voice and said that her employees simply “did not have the time to pick up a phone and call all of the pet owners to give them updates” which I understand- but if my dogs is at your store for double the amount of time and nobody is working the phones then there is a large cause for concern. I could go on about the ridiculous and unprofessional experience I had at this store. Please save your money and TIME!
My husband and I love Cara Mia for our puppy Baxter. They are extremely flexible for any and all of our puppy needs. They take appointments the day of which is extremely helpful for our family. Baxter loves to go and is always in great hands. We trust Cara Mia in taking great care of our puppy Baxter and we have left him there while traveling on vacation for as long as 7 days without worry. Clean and cost effective are also two attributes of Cara Mia. We wouldn’t think twice about taking Baxter here 100% of the time.
Nikki and Cocoa always have a great time here. Cindy and her staff are very accommodating with any and every need. The hours are very flexible and the costs are very reasonable. Since Nikki is a longhair Dachshund we take advantage of their grooming services and we have never been disappointed. Great job guys!
He was my new dog that needed grooming badly. I tried giving him a bath myself but he was very reactive. They showed me a video of two staff persons bathing and drying him calmly.Cindy did an amazing grooming. He looks like a different dog. This is Petes new hangout. Thank you cara mia staff
I have been taking my two dogs here for grooming for the past 4 years. They always come back to me at the end of the day looking amazing. They are always in a good mood and love going to see the staff for the day. I love how excited they get to see the staff.Great job!!!
I brought my puppy here to stay for a few days when I was out of town. The staff was very nice especially Cindy. The prices were decent. I was sent some cute pics of my dog doing some activities. Unfortunately, when I picked her up, I noticed her paws were bleeding from a very poor nail clipping. I will not bring her back.
This place is definitely over the top.... very unique and so much better than the kennel we have been using until now. It is friendly and clean and we trust them to take care of our little Bella. You have to check out their retail area..... They even have tuxedos and wedding dresses ....... I have no problem recommending Cara Mia for daycare, grooming or just giving your pet a treat.
We were moving last year into a new home and I didnt want our dogs Ella and Maggi to get caught in the confusion. I heard about Cara Mia and called them with VERY SHORT notice to see if they could keep our dogs for about a week. Not only did they keep them, they bathed them, brushed them and took VERY cook care of them. When I went to pick them up, they were the same happy dogs I brought in, not skiddish in any manner. This place is amazing and the staff is the best. I would recommend their services to EVERYONE.
After trying several groomers in the area since we moved here 3 years ago, we finally tried Cara Mia about 18 months based on a referral from a friend. I am so happy we found Cara Mia! All four of our dogs get super excited when they get loaded into the car because they know that it usually means a trip to Cara Mia! When they get out of the car, they can barely contain their excitement to get inside. Your dogs behavior should tell you a lot about a groomer and clearly mine tell me that they look forward to going to Cara Mia which gives me confidence that they are being well cared for and pampered while there. Even better is that their groomings have been exceptionally good, always what I request and they look absolutely gorgeous as well as smell so clean when they are done. Based on my experiences with Cara Mia, they are the complete package -- well skilled groomers and its done in a caring environment. That is not something we had been able to find with any other groomer in the area. I highly recommend Cara Mia!
I stopped in today as I have never been there before. I drove from Orchard Park and was inquiring about the fitness area for my dogs. I stood up front waiting for someone for 10 minutes. A woman came up to the front and I asked for a tour. She stated she was busy with paying customers, she will not do a tour, and that I can take a brochure as she slammed the door behind her. The entire front smelled like cat urine. There was a kitty in a small glass enclosure pawing at it. My heart broke. I assumed this was an associate who acted so rude to me so I called later in the day to find out that this was in fact the Owner. How very unpleasant and unprofessional. I was going to purchase accessories that were for sale as well and didnt get the chance too because of how rushed and ill mannered she was to me.. AFTER reading the previous reviews which I should have done before driving out there i 100% will never reccomend this place to anyone. How terrible and sick. Any place that cannot give a tour is a HUGE RED FLAG. There is always an excuse on why she cannot give a tour from these reviews. PLEASE beware of this place. I Want to add that Another review also states from an ex employee that she offers reading time with pets. They just snap pictures quick of employees reading them a book send them to the owners and place the pets back in there crates . I was appalled to see on fb that these statements looked true with all of photos. People need to really think twice before using this place. Scary.
Excellent place. My dog Sadie is a rescue dog and has behavioral problems and is very skittish of people and the staff is patient and great with her. The owner Cindy is very patient and very accommodating, every time I have picked her up I have been very pleased with the service, never had an issue with them and will continue to use them for her!
False advertising! From outside and from their site they want to look like heaven for animals 😂🤮.LIES! In fact is a crowded, stinky jail for pets. I dont know how is for dogs but for cats is bad. I was about to leave my precious cat there for a month and when I see the place and in what a small room each cat is booked in it break my heart. They offered that big glass room that is right at the entrance. If my cat wouldve stay in that place for one month would be getting sick. I definitely dont recommend this place for any animals.
I have a beautiful little min-pin mix dog who is full of love and energy and gets anxious around people she doesnt know. Cindy is WONDERFUL with dogs really makes an amazing point with her business why not pamper your little furr babies? I like all the amenities for myself and to have your dog spoiled and loved by animal lovers in a safe and affordable environment you just cant beat it! She also has partnered up with All Creatures Animals next door which is my Primary Veterinarian for my pets and its a great security blanket. Kass, has gone twice to daycare and done one over night boarding. If you are looking for a safe and relaxed place to have security in leaving your four legged babies Cindy is THE person to leave them with! Thanks for your wonderful business!
Absolutely awful place. Never take your dog there! My dog came back with its collar being totally ripped up since they left it on in the kennel with our other dog! Cindy couldnt care less about your dogs! Will never step foot in there again. There is zero botiqueness to this place. Totally a scam! Just like any other kennel out there. She didnt even offer to refund us after this horrendous experience. Please dont go here!
My five cats are the first customers of Cara Mia. The workers at Cara Mia have taken very good care of my cats during their many boardings there. Abbey and Marshall who are Himalayens get groomed beautifullly there every month. Abbey loves the wildlife videos. Cindy did a really special wedding picture of Abbey and Whiskers.
Lies and Incompetence. Took my dogs (walk in appt) for nail clipping. Owner (Cindy Youngers) lied and said my dog wasnt put in a kennel while waiting. I opened the door to find my dog in a kennel. When I pressed her if my other dog (who has kennel abuse/neglect in her background) was kenneled, she said no. I asked the another worker where they had put my dog, and he said the kennel. When I confronted Cindy about why said had said no, she confessed well, I didnt know. Refused to discuss it, saying Im done talking about this. and walked away. In addition, they ended up cutting my dogs paws while clipping her nails, causing her to bleed for several minutes. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. They care about your money more than your pets.
Utterly horrible. I would never under any circumstances bring my dog back to this hell hole. God only knows what really happened to my poor puppy while she was in their care. As this was my first direct experience, when I dropped my puppy off I asked for a tour. My request was declined with the reason given that grooming was taking place and it might disturb the dogs. This was a huge red flag and I regret not turning and walking out at that moment. However, because this was a referral, I did not. After several hours I received a series of pictures sent to my cell phone of my puppy in various situations, such as sitting near a Christmas tree, having a happy hour, and walking on a treadmill. I now believe beyond the shadow of doubt, these pictures are briefly staged and sent to pet-parents to give them a false sense of happiness that their loved one is being cared for. When I picked up my puppy approximately 9 hours later, I once again asked if I could have a tour of the back. Once again my request was denied. It was now 9:30pm and the reason this time? People are working and its too busy back there. When the woman opened the door to bring my puppy out to me I craned my head as much as possible to catch a glimpse of what lies behind the secretive doors. To my disgust, it was nothing but rows of glass encased cages. As this was my first ever day care experience I fully expected my puppy to be tired from all of the activity. Instead? She was nothing short of what I would call absolutely frantic. Wired with pent-up energy as I have never seen her before. When I got her home and let her out into the back yard, she ran lap after lap after lap for nearly twenty full minutes. To me this screams that she was crated all day! I am furious! To top it off, she was so hungry, that again very out of character for her, she was biting at my hand to get to her food. The crowning glory? The disgustingly heavy perfumed hideous purple scarf slapped over her head prior to my arrival. The same horrific powdery stench had been applied to her coat. She reeked so horribly that even after removing the scarf, running the yard, and bringing her back in for a meal, I had to bathe her at ten thirty at night. I am disappointed in myself for letting names, and outer appearances lead me to falsely feel that my family member was going to be cared for, when what happened was nothing short of arrogant neglect. I did call the owner and she stated that she was walked on the treadmill for two sessions of twenty minutes each. Even if that was true, over a nine hour period? 40 alleged minutes of walking on a treadmill at a slow pace? Awful. And thats IF it really even happened. She also claimed they read a story, and she had something called couch time . Grossly inappropriate for a young dog with tons of energy. It is now 11:15pm. Typically my puppy is sound asleep, but tonight? She is ready to play and run more. Again, very telling of her lack of activity and care. Never, ever again!
I had kept my Malamute here for just the day. On the way to get him, I was expecting to be there a mere four minutes after their closing hours. I called and said this, but they said if Im not in the door before the clock hits closing hours, they cant do anything about it. Being four minutes past, its clear they dont value their clients. I got there before closing, but was still annoyed they wouldnt wait minutes for me to get there although I do understand the world doesnt revolve around me. There are other places that would have taken the time to keep the doors open an additional minute though and those are the businesses that will see my continued visit.
“What does it mean when your sweet, 4 month old, Beagle/Rat Terrier Mix puppy suddenly shoots off the furniture, runs in circles, attacks any toy in sight, barks like mad, and generally acts like a little kook?” It means your puppy is having a FRAP episode. That stands for Frenetic Random Activity Periods, also known as Zoomies. As dog trainer and author Brian Kilcommons points out in his book, Good Owners, Great Dogs, FRAP episodes are normal for puppies—most have them 2 or more times a day while the pup is growing. They are CLEARLY not any indication of neglect. This was your puppy’s first time away from you. I would have been leery if she was anything other than excited to see you or be home.Spots activities were based on her profile. You indicated, in writing, on her behavior sheet that some of her favorite activities were Cuddles, Belly Rubs and Massage. Those were some of the activities that that we did with her as part of Home Time - Now it’s inappropriate? Not being remotely potty trained, her Pet Care Associate also took her outside every 45 minutes. Other activities included the fitness center where she did spend time on the treadmill. Given Spots was a new client , first timer in the fitness center, and only a 4 month old - 11 pound dog, two-20 minute sessions on our treadmill were absolutely appropriate. Additionally, most people don’t spend more time than that on a treadmill. The fact that your puppy was hungry when she got home “Screams” she worked up an appetite with a full day of activities. We do send short videos because anything longer cannot be sent from our cell phones. We also send other photos, at no charge, to our clients. I am not sure why this offended you or how else we could have validated what activities your dog enjoyed during its visit. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.Tours at any facility are at the sole discretion of the establishment. Depending on our client’s profiles, grooming and exit schedules, tours are typically given Sunday – Thursday after 7 p.m. This allows us to attend to our client’s meals, meds and complete the various requirements for the day. When someone unfamiliar enters our inner facility, the dogs can become excited and some get extremely stressed by the intrusion. I will not expose Cara Mia’s clients to any unnecessary duress, be responsible for a dog bloating or someone getting bit. At that time, your request on December 26th for your entire family to inspect the facility was inappropriate.Other amenities include your pet getting tidied up before their departure with a quick brush out, an exclusive sequin bandana, collar bow and spritz of designer cologne. Again you indicated in writing that Spots had never been brushed. Since there was no indication of scent aversion, we thought it would be a nice touch to have your pet brushed and smell clean. For the record, a decorative bandana was not slapped over her head.At Cara Mia we do our best to strive for ultimate guest service. Whether that is taking care of special needs pets, giving baths at 11 pm , or having crazy hours of operation 365 days of the year. Your pet was pampered and came home happy and healthy. We apologize if you were expecting anything less.
Awesome place, very accommodating and flexible hrs no other pet place can offer. Cindy and her staff are trustworthy, passion and care. They make everyones situation unique and will adjust to make things work out even in a tight pinch. Cant say enough, give them a try sometime!
To S F.J.I suspect you work for a competitor or have been put up to it by them. Your comments have no bearing in reality and in fact you go out of your way to comment on EVERY aspect of the business. This is totally bogus and you should be ashamed. Are you hoping to gain financially like a lot of others do to remove their negative comments? This is obviously made up and you are nothing but an internet troll.Their Facebook page shows many, many posts from satisfied clients who rave about the services and facilities of Caramia....

2021-12-06I recently adopted a senior dog and she needed to be cared for one day a week. I was so nervous to take her because she does require extra patience and empathy. I was blown away. They are so kind to her and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure she feels safe and comfortable. I also appreciate their hours, sometimes I have long hours and they are always willing to accommodate. I am so thankful for how they treat my senior fur baby!

2022-06-16Pretty nice, we boarded a golden doodle here for about 6 days, and he seems to have had fun. They gave him a bath as well, I think he maybe was sensitive to the soap they used bc his skin is a bit irritated, but that is probably more our issue than theirs. They do not intermingle dogs so that’s good for safety reasons. Also it was very easy to schedule and they have you bring in a bunch of paperwork which makes me believe they do their due diligence. The front desk person was not the most friendly when I came in, but easily that could because she is more of a dog person than a people person, and it was late when we came in anyways. They are located right next to a vet, and have soundproof walls so that is very nice to put your pet and yourself at ease. Also my mom talked to the owner and said she was great and clearly cared a lot about the animals. A bit on thé expensive side, but not too bad. We will probably go here again :)

They told me when I picked him up TODAY that they had noticed BLOOD in his urine YESTERDAY!!! When I called yesterday they told me my dog was doing great. Now when I pick him up he is having blood in his urine and can’t keep water or food down!My dog has never had blood in his urine and sure I can understand that things happen but to never let me know that he had blood in his urine and wait a whole day???? Is this place nuts!???? I will NEVER EVeR allow my dog to back here. We are currently on the way to the vet. PLEASe BE CAREFUL with this place.

2021-06-11I have no doubt that the owner there loves animals, but what I was most disappointed in is bringing my dog in on time for his appointment and having to wait over 8 hours for him to be ready. First time it happened I excused it because they told me they were very behind but the third time I brought him in and that happened I just didnt feel comfortable leaving my young dog crated for 9 hours. I found a new groomer that had him finished in two hours and I didnt have to pay for an Express groom or anyting. Not sure why Cara Mia takes 9 hours to groom a dog but all I know is since bringing my dog there he definitely has PTSD going to the groomers but thankfully at this new place hes finally starting to relax. I would not recommend Cara Mia for grooming. I also know that you get discounts if you leave a good review so a lot of the good reviews Im not certain about, but the reviews that I have read where they also experienced an eight-hour maybe more wait time for me was true and happened three times so I caution you for this reason.

2021-02-23I have been using Cara Mia for 6 years and I can say with extreme confidence, that they take amazing care of my dog. My bulldog has stayed overnight countless times over the years and has received many of their services. The owner is exceptionally nice and makes the experience so great. I would recommend Cara Mia for all your pet needs, whether you need a spa service or an extended stay, don’t hesitate - they are amazing!

2021-02-15I have taken my dogs to other groomers in the past ,but I will only use Cara Mia from now on. My dogs came back looking fantastic and very happy. Other places the dogs were so upset when I picked them up I would like to know what went on while they were there. They are very concerned about your dogs while they are there and treat them with such compassion for the ones that are afraid if it’s their first time. Cindy and her employees are excellent
