I came to this place for the first time on Tuesday 11-23 and I was treated like I had been shopping here for 20 years. Scott risked knees and back finding me some Mets cards. I walked out with a treasure trove. He also has some nice framed sports moments and signed football helmets. If youre a collector, get this place on your list!!
Fantastic store, owner, and employees. I am from out of town and always stop into the local card shops in the areas I am visiting on business. This store is really great with everything you could want from vintage in all sports to modern to signed memorabilia to other really unique items. Im really into vintage Steelers, so the owner helped me out pulling out boxes and binders of 60s and 70s cards that I could sift through. I found several cards missing out of my personal collection. He was extremely friendly and helpful as was the wonder lady working with him. He let me name the price on the cards I wanted, so I was able to walk away with a very good but fair deal on everything. Will be back the next time Im in the area on business. Please visit and support your local card shops.
Im always amazed at the amount of cool stuff Cardboard Memories has.The owner Scott is very knowledgeable and very friendly. Ive been to the store several times now for my own collection and gifts for friends for the holidays. I love looking through all the framed pictures and the endless baseball cards. Christmas is coming so I will be by again to see whats new!!
I went into the store expecting to pay for an appraisal of my card collection. The owner Scott took over an hour of his time to explain to me how valuations work and the ins and outs of the cards. He was incredibly knowledgeable and ultimately didn’t charge me for his time. I can’t give him and the store a higher review as it was a great experience. Anyone looking for a family friendly card/memorabilia store you have to go see Scott. I look forward to taking my young son to the store when he starts to collect!
Unparalleled products and customer service by Scott and the team! I found Cardboard Memories when I was looking for memorabilia on eBay to send to London, UK and his deep rooted experience and knowledge of the industry was reassuring and now I have 3 great pieces for my home office. Extremely well packaged and great prices! Highly recommended and I look forward to visiting the store once we are back to normal life and ordering much more! Thanks Scott and team!
I have been buying from Scott (owner) since the early 1990s. This is the only store where I buy my autographs and cards from. I highly recommend this store. Also, on a side note, this is the only place where I have everything framed, great frames and for custom items too.The parking lot is huge and parking is free. The store is full of autographed memorabilia, sports memorabilia, and sports cards. If youre at the store and looking for something particular, just ask. He has very knowledgeable employees. If you are looking to sell your items, you can contact Scott for an appointment.
Scott and Karen if I could give you 10 stars I would! My son and I loved visiting the store and could have stayed there all day. My son asks a TON of questions and both of you answered every single one with a smile on your face and with tremendous knowledge. You also made sure that EVERY person that walked in was greeted, which was so nice to see as real, sincere customer service and appreciation is a rarity nowadays. If you love sports and/or memorabilia you MUST go there. Just make sure you allocate a few hours because you will not want to leave! Thanks again Scott and Karen and we will be back soon!
Great experience at Cardboard Memories yesterday! Brought my 2 sons in and Scott was so gracious. Took us around showed us some great items and made the time we were there fun and informative. They really have some unique and fun items! We will be back to get more baseball cards and great gifts for the holidays.
So, after spending 35+ yrs as a dealer/collector I finally got a chance to experience Scotts incredible store or museum is a better word to describe it. I found Scott to be friendly ,knowledgeable, personable, and honest (trustworthiness is a quality lacking in the card/memorabilia business) but Scott certainly processes it!!!! After my visit which lasted 4hrs, l left fully satisfied with our business conducted and felt like my new acquaintance was a close friend of many yrs.I recommend if your passing thru commack and looking for a unique sports gift or have something you might want to sell or maybe just stop in and say hi.....do it!!! You wont be disappointed!!
I have never written a review for any company before, but I felt like I had to share my experience here.I drove an hour and a half to get to Cardboard Memories and I didnt know what to expect, but boy oh boy was it worth the trip! The store itself is packed to the brim with memorabilia, some of which I had never even seen online or at other places. Scott and Karen were absolutely wonderful, professional people and their knowledge, expertise, and friendliness added to the experience even more. I was even able to get a ball authenticated here as well with a full letter. If you are even a casual sports fan, you owe it to yourself to check this place out! A big thank you to Scott and Karen for the wonderful experience, I will definitely enjoy back!
Ive known Scott, the owner of Cardboard Memories, for a few years and when I recently needed to frame a custom hockey jersey as a gift, I looked no further than Cardboard Memories; its reputation for excellent product quality and customer service is unmatched. The finished frame looks incredible and made for such a perfect gift for the occasion. I highly recommend Cardboard Memories to those looking for custom framing or authentic sports memorabilia.
Looking for specific box sets of baseball cards for my young son and someone recommended me to this place and glad they did! This place has everything and anything! Scott and the really nice woman working there were very personable and very helpful and insightful, since it’s been a long time since collecting baseball cards with my brother when we were kids and chewing that awful gum, great memories and I hope it’s something my son will appreciate. I highly recommend that if you are looking for anything sports memorabilia, framing, etc, come here :)
A great sports museum let alone a place to pick up some cool collectibles. Scott and his staff take the time to know your interests and help you add to your collection. Ive witnessed them treat everyone from young kids to adults with respect and HONESTY. Its just a fun place to be!
I literally just started getting back into collecting cards. So I wanted to find a memorabilia store bc there aren’t many left...When I walked into this store, I could not believe the amount of products and history was in it. After a few mins, the owner Scott came over and we wound up chatting for over a half hour. I’ve never met anyone with the knowledge that he has when it comes to sports and collecting. After buying a few things, he took the time out to talk to me and I can tell he’s very passionate and genuine which is hard to come by. Cardboard Memories definitely has a customer for life in me.
I have only purchase online from Cardboard memories, but the product is always packed safely and have always received what I ordered. Their service when answering questions has been great and I have had no concerns with online purchases. Pricing has been fair on their products based on market values. Will continue to order from them.
I can’t begin to tell you what an experience it is simply browsing around this store. It would take you a couple of hours to properly check out the hundreds of items inside. There is not only signed sports memorabilia from every major sport, but hidden gems and rare, hard to find items. And every time I walk in there, there’s always something new and unique to check out. And you know all of the signed items are legit - not just because they’re backed by reputable third party authentication companies, but when you walk in one day and see the founder of Steiner Sports on the floor and discover he is friends with the owner, to me it adds even more credibility to the store. The owner, Scott, is extremely knowledgeable about sports and can tell you stories behind how he acquired each and every item and respond to your Qs.
I needed something special for the holidays and Scott was amazing. He helped me find the perfect piece of memorabilia for my gf’s grandfather. He is a huge mattingly fan and he listened to me and even offered a discount to me for the gift. Amazing people the experience was top notch and I couldn’t be more thankful.
I have been going to Cardboard memories for over 10 years now. They by far have the best selection of autographed memorabilia than any other store I have even been in. I feel the prices are more than fair... and if they are slightly higher priced than other stores it may be due to the fact of the quality of the frames and the matting, the fact that they only use the most highly regarded Professional authentication companies, or the fact that they have such a high volume of diverse memorabilia for everyone to choose from. On top of that the store is such a fun place to visit. Caryn is absolutely awesome and Scott is just so interesting to talk to.
Scott the owner has world class knowledge on all of the items in his store. Has one of the biggest an rarest selection of items of any store I have been too. The national convention in Cleveland didnt have the variety nor quality this store has to offer. I have visited twice from 8 hrs away because it was well worth my time to see what Scott had to offer. Has great items from todays sports icons and stars of the past everyone should visit this great store you will not leave empty handed.
I must say first and foremost that walking into this place is so overwhelming and really captivates anyone who knows even the slightest bit about sports. It truly is like a museum. The staff is so unbelievably knowledgeable and friendly. Scott the owner truly is fascinating and almost computer like with his knowledge of the field. As much Great, museum quality items he has he still took the time to look through my collection and actually showed interest being that this is his passion. I was honored to spend a couple of hours with him as he gave me a lesson and priceless wisdom in the sports memorabilia world. This guy is so on point honest and caring i really felt like i was talking to my brother. This place is truly a heaven for sports enthusiasts and i would urge anyone , collector or not to stop in. You wont be dissapointed. Truly one of a kind and a lost art. Thank you cardboard memories.
Walking into Cardboard Memories makes me feel like a kid in a candy store! Scott and his staff are so great at helping you find just the right gift ...and while youre there, I bet youll find something extra special for yourself in his shop of a zillion (sometimes hidden) treasures. Its great to know theres a local business like this one going strong over the past several decades. Skip the internet and go straight to the gold mine that is Cardboard Memories. You wont be disappointed!
I had a great experience with Cardboard Memories. It was a pleasure working with Scott and getting this Jordan frame shipped out to me in the Chicago area. It was packed very nicely and there were absolutely no issues. Great customer service. Will hopefully do business again with them.
I’ve been going to this store since I was about 6 years old. I love this place! There’s not a more reputable business in the sports memorabilia industry! I picked up an autographed Mickey Mantle ball today from Scott for a killer price. The staff there is very friendly. Thanks so much Scott!
Very cool place and has so much authentic awesome memorabilia. Owner is very knowledgeable but also has a chip on his shoulder and loves to brag. Store is literally packed with autographed artwork and frames and boxes and cards and jerseys so it is hard to walk around the store. Otherwise great place, although a little overpriced owner is willing to negotiate.
Far beyond the best. We had unexpected medical situation hit us and I called regarding a sad request to return a beautiful piece. Scott the owner and Caryn both were very great in concern about my son and worked a deal with us that they had no obligation to do. Went out of their way to make sure we were going to be taken care of. Customers for life, A+ business.
Walked in here the other week wanting to buy a gift for a die hard Yankees fan but having no idea where to even start considering I no nothing about sports. They worked with me and tried to figure out what the gift receiver would like. We ended up finding the perfect gift that my gift receiver LOVED! He wont stop thanking me every time I see him. Really recommend this place!!
Scott and his team went above and beyond what most dealers would do. I am a pretty pickely collector of the signatures I buy and living in IA I could not so easily drive to his store to look at the item I was interested in. See Scott had 4 helmets signed by this particular athlete, he sent me close up pictures of each signature and took the time over the phone to answer my questions on each signature. Found the one I liked the best and received and EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE SIGNATURE. THANKS AGAIN TO SCOTT AND HIS TEAM!!!! Marc
Wow! Do they have a lot of memorabilia! Great choices in a lot of price ranges. They had good knowledge about the items in the store. You can get lost trying to decide! It is cool just to come and see it all, even if you are not buying at this time. It is almost like a museum.
Imagine lying to your costumers about that stuff they pull from the grab bags that have nothing in them the cards are also very beat up also the packs and boxes are all resealed so they obviously checked if there was anything good in there and boxes with collectors boxes that app are supposed to have hits in them that don’t have any
I recently purchased a 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers signed team baseball from Scott @ Cardboard Memories. The ball had the signautres of all the greats for that year including Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Duke Snider and Pee Wee Re...ese to name a few. There were a total of 23 signatures from members of the 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers on the ball. I bought the ball from Scott even though it didnt have a Certificate of Authenticity from PSA or JSA. After talking with Scott on... the phone and finding out that he has had a business for over 20 years and was a consultant for JSA(James Spence Authentication). I felt pretty confident about purchasing the ball. I spoke to Scott and let him know that I was going to send it to JSA to have it Authenicated and Scott told me that if I wasnt happy with the results I could return it no question asked. What kind of dealer would be that willing to stand behind what he sells. SCOTT THATS WHO! Needless to say I received my ball back yesterday 1/30/2014 from JSA and I couldnt be HAPPIER!! Every thing check out great and with No Clubhouse signatures. Which is what I was wanting. It so hard to find Brooklyn Dodgers baseball from that era with out some Clubhouse signature or 2 but this one didnt. Scott you are so AWESOME and it was a pleasure doing business with you. We will defintely do business AGAIN. Thanks again. I now own a ball with my beloved Dodgers greats and now have a great connection all the way on the east coast. Thanks, Eric in California

2022-03-14Had a great time going into this shop Saturday! Made some great purchases and will be back to get more items in the future. Scott, the owner is an expert in signed memorabilia who has been on TV several and has plenty of unique items in the shop. It’s definitely worth a drive from a distance if your in a the general area. I can say as a collector for over 20 years, it is one of the, if not the best store for signed photos I have ever seen, signed jerseys, and other unique signed/unsigned collectibles.

2022-06-07If you are someone searching for quality sports memorabilia that is of the finest quality, Cardboard Memories is the place! The owner, Scott Stimell, is an exceptional man who exhibits an unbridled enthusiasm for what he does and a genuine concern for his clients’ needs and happiness. Scott is affable, honest, knowledgeable and professional. He is well versed in all facets germane to the Sports Memorabilia industry. Spend just ten minutes in this treasure trove of sports jewels and you will swear Scott is an old friend of yours. I have had some very regrettable experiences in the past with proprietors who were disingenuous and very abrasive. It almost soured me completely and for a while, it precluded me acting on a genuine desire to collect mementos that conjure such wonderful memories of my childhood etc. Fortunately, I met Scott and all that changed. I cannot say enough about this man and his business. He’s truly an inimitable personality who enhances the collectible experience immeasurably. Highly recommended.

2022-05-12Scott just spent the better part of an hour on the phone with me helping to assess value of several items that a donor is offering to donate to the Alternatives, Inc. silent auction. He was completely professional and abundantly knowledgeable. Moreover, he was happy to share the information with me without any thought for how his business could profit from the exchange. The next time I am running an auction, I will call on Scott and the Cardboard Memories team!

2021-11-18Awesome store. So many amazing items and all at fair prices too. Scott was really fun to talk with and is incredibly knowledgeable. I had a great time trying out their mystery packs and mystery baseball items. Landed some nice memorabilia but by far the best was a Don Larsen WS inscription autographed baseball.Cant recommend this place enough!

2022-03-29The #1 memorabilia shop in NY. The owners knowledge is un-matched. On top of all that experience and knowledge, the 2nd in commands experience rivals mostly everyones input in my football, and basketball club..This shop has it all..! Everything from Tom Bradys rookie autographed, all the way through Ty Cobb. Thats just scratching the sport cards..Yu-gi-oh..Pokemon...Everything...highly recommend this shop..

2021-03-28I can not say enough great things about cardboard memories and everyone who works there. I have been doing business with Scott for years now and he has not only helped me build a tremendous collection, but has gone so far out of his way to get me things that nobody else can. He is a fair buyer, and has always given me good value on anything that I am looking to sell, and is beyond passionate about the hobby, always going above and beyond to make sure the customer leaves the store with exactly what they want. He is one if the most generous and kind-hearted business owners that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, and I truly believe that there is no better place to go for sports memorabilia than his store.

2021-11-16This place is 100% reputable when it comes to his merchandise. Theyve been here for three decades and the owner use to work for the JSA. He loves to speak with you about sports and life and enjoys helping others. I ordered game used signed cleats from them and the process was great, especially since i live far away and they had to mail them to me. I wouldnt want to shop anywhere else

2021-01-19I recently got back into the sports card hobby and couldn’t be happier to have Cardboard Memories near my house. They consistently have the newest releases and best selection of memorabilia. With that being said, the best part about the place is the customer experience they provide. Scott and Caryn run the shop and have been warm and generous towards me from the moment we met. I appreciate business owners who prioritize building relationships with their customers instead of a quick sale. Scott and Caryn demonstrate this every time I come in and for that reason I would never go to another shop.Anyone in the hobby should come check this place out. It really is a one of kind place, run by a one of a kind person. Thanks for doing the things you do Scott.Joe Perlson

2020-12-29Walking into Cardboard Memories for the first time today, I was immediately reminded of my childhood. The store was authentic, eclectic and filled with everything from cards to signed sneakers and jerseys. I have never written a review before but overall was such a positive experience. Scott, the owner, was such a knowledgeable and friendly individual. Not only did he spend an hour of his time with me going over some of the cards that I brought into the store, but he gave me advice on what to send to get graded and even waived the fee for a signature authentication. He has all the credentials that one looks for in appraisal as he has been in the business for 30 years and I will definitely be back soon. I would recommend this store 10x over.

2021-09-17I can give my highest recommendation to any sports card or memorabilia collector to shop at Cardboard Memories. Scott the owner is extremely dedicated to finding the right collectible for you. Recently he spent nearly 30 minutes searching for a special Roger Maris figurine that I sought. Scott is very dedicated to his customers.GaryN, Mount Sinai, NY
