Please invest in a new chef or cook. The calamari was flimsy and nasty. The fish fritters were raw on the inside. The jerk chicken was horrible. The girl said she had one and told the chef it was mushy on the inside but served it to me anyway? WTH... $150 and we had to go to Wendys afterwards. The drinks were OK though
They dont need amplified speakers for the music seeing as youre sitting within 30 ft of the band, food is good, they are very heavy handed with the drinks so if you dont like the taste of alcohol then. Let them know prior to ordering something specific. Havent tasted anything from there that wasnt delicious, fried rice is good and so is the Chinese style fried chicken .
Worst jerk chicken fried rice I ever had. Took 2 bites paid my bill and walked out w my 2 daughters. None of the soups listed on menu were available. Calamari not available. Took me 40 min to get my jerkchicken. Only good to have a drink there
If I could give zero stars I would. First when we ordered our drinks the waitress forgot which drink was what and held it to her nose to smell it and got upset when we said we didnt want it. Then we waited 1 1/2 hours for our food after me speaking to the manager. Just to be told they had the tables mixed up. Never again.
Absolutely horrible it’s a never for me again . Service was horrible the waitress was rude . We had to wait over an hour and a half for our meals and when it came it was cold. The waitress never came to check if we needed and more drinks or if we’re ok ,when she delivered our food she just pushed it on the table and left .
Just horrible. Not organized. Took 30 mins to bring my jerk wings. Decided to let me know the mac and chesse was done. Then asked me to move to the bar they needed the table. No room at the bar, Im like tjust give me the bill. That took 30mins

The food was cold and drinks was watery. They have Very poor customer service and they need more people working on the floor. It’s good for music only.

Food was ok…. & the drinks were as well but i noticed after going here I dropped my AirPods and the busboy found them and asked me and my home girl were they either one of ours I responded no because I thought I left my AirPods in the car once I got home I noticed they were mine but I had a flight to catch I get back to New York 2 months later I reach out to them they gave me the busboys number he gives me another number they were giving me the run around so basically my AirPods were stolen and that was a loss please be careful when you are here and it comes to remembering what you came with
Food was tasty however their wait staff sucks!! Waited over 30 minutes for water after being seated! We had to stalk our waiter for appetizers, drinks, food and even the bill! We were ignored the entire night. Complained to the owner and he did nothing to meet our needs or even reduce our bill. Never ever again. I would not recommend. Two thumbs down!
I dined on a Wednesday night and Wednesday is Karaoke night. The staff was friendly and the food was good. We went around 7ish and it wasnt crowded. I noted that as my dining experience was winding down, people were really beginning to arrive.Based on my experience, its a good place to dine but, a little pricey. I got the impression that its definitely a nice chill spot for Caribbean flavor and fun by the water.Would I go back, probably ...
Came here in on a Friday evening. We ordered appetizers and drinks. The layout and esthetics of the place is quite charming. The food and drinks we ordered were tasty and the live band was really good. A nice place to hang out for some great Caribbean vibes. Ill be going back to check out their Kareoke night.
The music was great and that is where it stopped!!!! We went to the hostess desk to be seated. After sitting outside for 30 min, we called the number on the menu to ask if any one would come to take our order because we hadn’t seen a waitress. The hostess then came took our order then 30 min more and had to flag someone down to pay attention to us… 1 hour no drinks no food, HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Such a shame… we were looking forward to it… Now we are at Elliott’s down the block. Good music and SERVICE. 5 min placed drink and food order. Date night salvaged…
The live entertainment was great. The food was pretty good and the drinks had plenty of alcohol. Will definitely be back.
Very disappointed! As a chef and a Caribbean food lover, I never expected nor have I experienced a a more dysfunctional organization. The manager/owner appears to be over her head. Who use plastics disposable flatware with China? This is not normal. Faults;….no greetings, staff disoriented, poor service, bad food, staff dirty clothes, fruit flies, food not prepared as described on the menu, passes the credit card processing fee to customers, plastic flatware with China plates, plastics cups with beverages, no regards for customers. We should’ve turned around the minute we walked in. First of all, We had to seek out a server then she sat us down at a bear table. We placed the beverage and appetizers order which the server brought without flatware. We had to order another server for the items which of course were plastic disposable. We saw the customers next to us fighting flies but didn’t think much of it because we were outdoors. That changes when our food and beverage came. It appears that the flies followed the food from the kitchen so it was our turn to fight them. The food is bland and doesn’t represent anything they claims to be. Please go to the nearest Caribbean grocery store and buy some jerk seasoning if you want to do jerk chicken. The staff wears whatever they want to wear and it’s disgusting, sleeveless, holes in their clothes. A guy was there cleaning the tables and moving things around wearing clothes that don’t belong in any dining room. His jeans pants has holes all the way up to his crouch then he lifted the chairs above the tables where customers are eating. As for the credit card fee being passed to customers, this is a first for me. Our bills was over $200. That’s after we returned some of the food. Yet, we still had to pay the credit card processing fee. It clear that this place need fixing from the kitchen to the dining room. Stop trying to justify the ineptitude of your chef and fixing your business then give people what they pay for. Take the preparation and serving of food serious or find another line of work. PLEASE!
Terrible experience. Waited over an hour before someone came to take our order. After placing our order started off with simple appetizers (wings and seasoned fries), and two drinks (which took another 15mins to get). We were left waiting over 1hr and 1/2 for the food (wings and fries). Our order was never giving to the kitchen, I went to complain, about situation and was ignored. They didn’t apologized for the situation, we were just giving the bill to pay for our drinks. The least they could have done was apologize for the wait time, or even put our drinks on the house. Wasted our time. Never again. Bad service
This place is terrible on customer service and literally refuses to substitute orders even if there’s something wrong with your food. The workers have a terrible attitude and claim they dont have “access” to the system to change an order. They have access, they just either 1) dont know how to do it or 2) are lying.

I had friends visit me from Atlanta and decided to take them out to this restaurant. We are all from a West Indian background, so we are accustomed to very tasty food. Sadly, the food from this restaurant was very unpleasant. I ordered a fish, and it was very rank and smelled very much fishy. We also ordered a mojito mango drink, the server did not mention it was a non-alcohol drink. The server led my friend to think it was an alcohol drink. It also took the servers 30 mins to give us our bill. I feel the restaurant should upgrade their chefs/food because if Caribbean people decide to eat there, they will not enjoy the food. It is not tasty at all !!!!!!!!! Who ever are the owners, I really hope you read this and take advantage of this feedback and upgrade the food because it taste very UNSEASONED.
Food was really good and the drinks were nice and strong. We had the jerk pork, chicken, cowfoot soup, and curry goat. They had a large party so 1 star off for a longer wait but everyone was so nice. I’ll be back.

Went here yesterday with my girlfriend thinking we’d get some decent seafood on the water, I was dead wrong. I had a seafood soup that was disgusting and was nearly $20, for a SOUP. Then we shared some mussels, not only were they chewy and had a weird taste to them, but they were $28. $28 I’m expecting a bucket of mussels or a decent portion just like any other restaurant. NOPE. 9 mussels sloppily thrown on a plate after being boiled to garbage. I’m fuming. Anyone who thinks about going here RUN and don’t look back.
My wife and I visited Caribbean Island in restaurant in Freeport for lunch on August 6, 2021. The food and staff were absolutely top notch. I had the ox tail and my wife had the jerk snapper. Both meals were exquisitely seasoned and delicious. Also, their homemade hot sauce was among the best Ive had. It was a wonderful afternoon on the water. I highly recommend the restaurant.
Good atmosphere, nice view , enjoy the Super Bowl , price are reasonable I would say. But read a few reviews so I kept track of my bill.
The food was delicious 😋 (I had the vegetable rasta pasta). The service was fast. The music and scenery were good. This was a great first time visit. Ill definitely be coming back.
Where to begin! Our server was awesome. The food was decent. However, we will never go back or recommend this establishment to anyone. The WAIT FOR FOOD AND DRINKS IS RIDICULOUS!. When I asked to speak to the manager, a female came over. Very blah, no hello I am so and so, how can I help you? She appeared agitated that we requested to speak with her. Her tone was rude and non chalant, and she actually thought it was ok that we where waiting over 30 minutes since our appetizers had finished and been removed for our entree? We where there over 2 hours!!! And not because we were enjoying ourselves so much. But because we oreded Crab legs,? Her excuse was, we make everything fresh. We came to discover she was an owner!!!! OMG with this attitude? And you just opened!!. You never know who is at your table. 2 of us are Chefs, from fine dining backgrounds . We are clear on what it takes to open a restaurant. To give good service. And how to execute food properly from a kitchen. They where out of ingredients, the menu is too expansive for your kitchen staff to handle, I will be very surprised if this place last.
I am a 16 years resident of Freeport from Jamaican decent who always looks to support Black/Caribbean owned businesses, so one day my boyfriend and I was on the Nautical Mile for date night looking for a good spot to grab dinner and drinks. Well, since I hadn’t been to the new Caribbean Island restaurant and in support of my Caribbean people, decided to give the place a try. The restaurant was decorated nice and had a warm feel when you entered, but that’s where ALL the positives end! I was very disappointed to learn that there was liquor license, but still continued on with dining with hopes the meal would wow me so much that liquor be an after thought. Well, no it was just the opposite, between the neglectful service, very bad wings to the boiled “Jamaican” oxtails, it was disastrous! The plantains were okay and so was the rice and peas, but everything else was inedible. I wanted so very bad to like this place and have a good Caribbean food option in my community, but it really was underwhelming to say the least! Maybe getting a strong Jamaican chef can turn this place around, but until then I am NEVER going back!
This is the best Caribbean restaurant I’ve ever been to. They have a nice menu selection to choose from and everything that my party and I ordered was delicious. The view and music was also an added bonus. Definitely my go-to restaurant when I’m in the area
If I never had Caribbean food before, after this experience, I probably wouldnt have it again. I ordered caesar salad as a starter and recd it with my meal on a hot plate with no dressing. When I asked for dressing, the waiter brought me ranch because apparently they didnt have any caesar dressing. For my entrée, I ordered jerk pork with rice/peas. The pork was sweet and there were no peas in my rice. Would I go back? Its a hard no for me.
HORRIBLE service. Bartenders and waitresses were rude, took TWO HOURS to receive two orders of fries. AVOID AVOID AVOID !
Love love love this place. Finally good west Indian food on the mile. The drinks were good too. We got the salmon bites, rasta pasta and mango mojitos. Definitely check this place out you wont be disappointed!!!.
Food was really good - the place is also clean with a beautiful view of the water. Perfect place for a date night, to host an event, or to meet up with some friends for a bite to eat. Would highly recommend!
Took a friend there on Sunday Sep 12th to show off Caribbean food. Food was terrible, the rice was half way cooked, service was horrible. I did enjoyed the 🎶 later in the evening. Will return for the music nothing else.Disappointed 😏

This place use to be El torro 28. El torro was a fun place with live bands and dancing with a nice outside bar. Now its a boring lame spot for geriatrics. Come on yall have to do better.

Service is horrible!! Waited 2 hours for food. They served us scraps after waiting that long. Atmosphere was nice, but Service was unacceptable!!!
The service here is worst than terrible. Told the waiter that we are leaving in 10 minutes but still no food so we left after waiting for two hours.
Well the girl that was supposed to be at the front was just outside staring at the ocean and it was a bit slow but besides that great service and good food

2022-05-01It’s an absolute never again for me! Went for my bday! Live music was good but that’s where it stopped! We were told the wait for food would be an hour which we said ok to but its was almost 2 hrs. We ordered soup for appetizer and that took 1 1/2 hrs like how, if its pre-made. Only 2 waitresses. 2 pieces of oxtail for $30! And some of the food wasnt not even good and definitely over priced. We ordered steam fish and got stew fish. I dont mind waiting if the food is good. Save yourself the headache

2022-05-01If I could give zero stars I would. We were told the food would be delayed 20 minutes and we ended up waiting over an hour and a half for appetizers, which were cold. And brought out twenty minutes apart. When we complained about our lack of food, we were told the owner would come speak with us within five minutes as well as our food would come out at that time as well, as I sit here, it’s been over 30 minutes from that conversation and we have not even been given the water that we were promised or even eye contact from anyone working here. If you are thinking just try the place because sometimes reviews are wrong, please trust the reviews. Additionally the people next to us were finally served their food, and the meat was raw on her plate. I will NEVER come back here. Save yourself money and please don’t waste date night coming to this establishment. Everyone around us has walked out. We wanted to do the honest thing and pay for the drink we had, and we can’t even get a bill so that we can exit. Again, NEVER come here. Also, the fritters came completely uncooked and the pasta was over cooked.

2022-07-02Gave this place a try after walking the Nautical Mile strip. The curry shrimp and cabbage was good, however the rice needed some salt and or other seasoning. My cousin ordered the chicken Rasta Pasta, she did not care for it. We also ordered mango wings which were blah and some fries. On a more positive note our server was amazing, the drinks were good and the vibe was nice. They had some tunes on rotation and on Friday night they have a live band outside. This place would be a hit if they got another chef.

2022-06-11I’m surprised this place even have a 2.7 stars. If I could give it a 0 I most definitely would. The food they serve is a disgrace to Caribbean people. To be completely honest, I have never write a review nor complain about any restaurant, but I’m so disappointed and upset I had to. My friend and I waited over an hour for some unappetizing food.I order some rice & peas with stem red snapper with okra, and what I got was some cold dry hard robbery fish that seems to be cooked weeks before that they keep warming up in a microwave and the rice and peas was dry as well. The stem fish had nothing on it like what they wrote on the menu. My friend and I return the food and went to another restaurant to eat. The only positive was the manager who became our waiter was pretty nice. They were most definitely Unorganized. I wouldn’t recommend anyone nor would I ever eat there again.If jam rock that made some good fresh nicely done food can go out of business, I doubt this place will last.

2022-05-01Ordered the pasta chicken Alfredo and my husband got Rasta Pasta but the food was awful that was not chicken alfredo as you can see in the photo. The rasta pasta didnt have 1 shrimp in it.

2021-08-12If I could give 0 stars I would. I honestly feel robbed, this starter of mussels is $28 and there were 10 rubbery mussels on our plate. I really thought that maybe we got a lunch special or something because i was picturing a bucket like every other seafood spot ever, but nope, this is what we got. I was embarrassed to send it back because our waitress was so sweet and nice, obviously the food and prices are not her fault, she was great. This place is robbing people and you would assume it being on the water that at least these would be the best mussels ever, but nope we’ve had better. Awful experience, will not be coming back.

2021-10-13The drinks were awful. They tasted worse than any medicine you can imagine. I changed my drink twice after only having one sip. The rum punch was absolutely disgusting. The food was okay. The rasta pasta was served in a coconut sauceNo jerk seasoning nor seasoning of any other kind. This food and drink does not represent the Caribbean. Im sorry

2022-02-09This place will Rob you blind if you dont look at your bill. We went there a few weeks ago for a show. The owner offer us shots on the house and end up charging us for it. Our billed was 471.68. We gave the waiter $100 cash tips leaving the balance of $398.48. My friend and myself split the billed for 199.24 each. Our cards was charged $301.16 each. The next day, I saw the charged on my credit card. I called up the restaurant and spoke to the owner Bibi. AT first she said that they didnt over charger us. Thank God we had a copy of the bill. I send it to her. Then she agreed to reimburse us. I told her once she is at the restaurant let me know so, I can meet her to credit my card back. She claim that she is the only one that can refund me and I need to go in. I call and text her several times no respond. I had to call the credit card and dispute it. Then she refund me. We only had a few drinks and no meals I know we didnt drink that much!! Please be aware if you go to this place keep a tab on you drinks and pay attention to you bill. --

2022-06-05Nice place to listen to music and have a drink, but nothing else. The wait for food is like an hour and the food was nasty and distasteful. Wouldn’t recommend you eat there. Supermarket frozen processed food taste way better. Over price for food that is not freshly cooked but seems to be cooked at least a month in advance.

2021-12-12OVERPRICED,RUDE STAFF AND LONG WAIT TIME FOR FOOD. I’ve dine across all the boroughs in NY and I must say this place is overpriced when it domes to west Indian food. The severs took way too long with drinks, appetizers and main course took almost an hour before we were served. The music was too loud. It felt like a bar instead of a restaurant.
