Recently I attended a kind of bike fair in the parking lot. It seems their entire inventory was on display which I found useful. I was able to study various mechanisms and frames on higher end bikes than what my Emonda has and the jerseys, accessories, footwear, tire inflation devices among many other things.A couple days later my bike suffered (yes, it has feelings) from a drivetrain malfunction. What I thought was an expensive repair to a bent front sprocket was quickly fixed (enough to safely ride) for seventy-five percent less than expected. Wow!Three weeks ago I moved to the neighborhood with Carl Hart Bicycles only 1.2 miles from my new home. Downside (because I am impetuous) is the shop opens today at one p.m. and I get out of bed at seven a.m. Ugh! Well, I waited until three flats occurred in a twenty four hour period riding the Pine Barrens, I could certainly kill time drinking coffee on my back deck this morning and feed the deer.With no tubes left my tire was carefully examined between sips of Bustelo espresso to discover a minimum of fifteen punctures (not all were fatal flats). It is the original Bontrager from twenty-six months ago!I am waiting for them to open their portals in ninety minutes and I will walk the one mile or so to get there. My wish is to ride thirty from their shop, hence no car is necessary on this beautiful morning.Rocky Point Cycles, six miles away, opens at 10 a.m. as does my bike dealer (Adams Cyclery) in Northport. Not convenient enough, but are emergency stops on a ride should a mechanical occur. I was not riding to either of the alternative shops on my last tube after what I experienced the last two days.My hope is Carl Hart will continue to provide me consistently excellent five-star service. Their staff is communicative, professional, competent, and friendly.What more can a cyclist want?09.22.2020. 11:35 a.m. My coffee cup is now empty. Time to ride!

I’ve been coming to Carl Hart over 10 years, my yearly tune ups, tire needs and equipment is bought here. The service is great so when I decided to upgrade to a carbon fiber bike, it’s the only shop I considered.

This place is personable and Eric and Brian are all geared up to give you a solution. I had a problem with a break in my Trek Madone frame and while another shop had given up saying that they could not even contact Trek without a proof of the purchase, Carl Hart tried without paperwork and I got a free frame from Trek. 100% effort!! And they were on the phone with me telling me everything they were doing and suggesting to do ( even buying used parts for cheaper costs). That is what I call customer service!!!!

All four of us in the family have bought new bikes from the Carl Hart Bike Shop. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the mechanics are awesome. The Bikes always leave the shop in mint condition after service. We are also treated like family at the CH Bike Shop. Much appreciation here for all they do for us.

Im very happy with the service I had yesterday of my 2016 Trek X-Caliber 9 MTB. Because I have been riding the bike for a long time with the overstretched chain it was necessary to replace the rare cassette and the front chain ring.Everything was done in a swift manner while I was waiting. Before the bike was return to me there was a test ride.The 30 ml trip I made yesterday after repair proved that the highest quality service was provided.Thank you Carl Hart Bicycles! I have been going to Carl Hart Bicycles since I started rides 6 years ago.They guys at the shop have treated me like family since the beginning. They have watched myself and my wife go from newbie cyclists to where we are today.They have been there to fix and maintain our bikes, but also have answered any of our questions from the Silliest to the most difficult questions.They are absolutely amazing and I’d recommend them to everyone

They managed to identity and source me the parts I needed extremely fast for a very fair price - in the middle of a pandemic. Great safety measures in place; no impact on the quality of service.Always have had great service from them in the “before times” as well. Everyone that works here is friendly and super knowledgeable. Darren, Eric, Brian, Ryan, and the rest are all great guys with awesome enthusiasm for their business and the local cycling community.

Came in today looking for a hybrid bike. Eric was really helpful and cool about me being a newbie to the bike world. Gave me all the info I needed and was super chill. Showed me some of the trek dual sports. All around good vibes with thisplace and the people there. I ended up not getting a bike because what they didnt have my size in the model i was exactly looking for, but ill be doing buisness with them in the future for sure. Seem like great people.

Literal scam artists, bought a bike from them 3 months ago and it’s been nothing but problems. The gears won’t go into place so I took it to them to fix the issue at least 5 times and each time they said it was fixed only to be broken a week later. The bike hasn’t even been ridden that much, not only that but recently the frame just snapped on me while going through trails on this “mountain” bike. It’s ridiculous to spend $1,000 on a bike for only problems. Don’t go them they will sell you overpriced garbage

I have been buying & having my bikes fixed from call hart in Middle Island for Almost 30 years. I was just stoned into buy my grandsons 1st real bicycle. And of course never disappointed with their selection knowledge. Every bike Ive ever purchased is still going strong, And my favorite Gary Fisher Joshua F3 that Ill never get rid of even though they want me to upgrade. Sorry guys

These guys have it all. Darren the owner grew up in the shop. He knows bikes!! Eric is always up front able to ask questions on bikes and accessories. Great guy (triathlete) who enjoys his job. Leading an amazing service team is Brian. As one of long islands fastest road and mountain bikers he understands how important good maintenance is and like the other guys, he will drip his wrench to assist with any technical or equipment questions. I went to three bike shops before buying my first road bike and decided Carl Hart Bicycles was the right choice. I recieved outstanding customer service from Eric. He was very patient with me, answered all of my questions, was very knowledgeable, and helped me choose the right bike/accessories.
Got my first ever bike from this place yesterday. Very informative guys here and didnt pressure me to buy anything I didnt need. I had some worries about my weight and the bike I wanted but I came out with a nice MTB that I loved and was fairly priced.I was really annoyed that I couldnt just take my bike with me the minute I got it but I did some research and this is normal since they have to assemble your bikes, so I dont fault them at all. I loved the place and will be going back to get some gear soon.

Writing this review because I really liked the service I had at Carl Hart Bicycles. Made the upgrade from some a entry level hybrid diamondback into a real road bike. Service and information was top notch. Would recommend to anyone looking to take up this hobby.

Fred, Darren and Brian are a great group of guys, purchased two full suspension trek mountain bikes from them in the past 3 years (fuel ex 8 and superfly 100), good prices, great service and just generally good guys to talk to about biking, components ect. Theyre my go to bike shop, and have been for the past few years, and will continue to be in the future. Big thanks to Brian for taking the time to make sure the geometry on my new bike and sizing was what I needed, youre an asset to the company, thanks again.

Stopped in to find some new grips for my sons 12 bike. They had exactly the grips we needed, and within a few minutes they were installed and ready to go. Great staff, friendly service, well worth the trip. Much easier than the guess and check approach wed have to take to find just the right part online.

Went in with a photo from a manufacturer website of what I need, they told me it didnt exist. Meanwhile, the manufacturer website said the item I needed was in stock at this particular store! Darren, who carries himself with a MAJOR entitled and arrogant personality, said just because some site says we have it doesnt mean we do. The guys laughed as I walked out. So incredibly rude. Would never recommend.

Brian & Darren really know their bicycle stuff. The Lighthouse Mission takes under-privilaged teens & children mountain biking across Long Island and the kids can be really hard on the bicycles. Brian can somehow put them back together. Their prices are very fair and can turn around repairs and special orders quickly. These guys are Legit & honest. A recent trip to Carl Hart confirmed - to my horror - that what I thought could have been a scratch in the paint of my 4 yr old carbon fiber Cannondale was actually a CRACK! Having had a previous disaster with another brand purchased from another shop, I was prepared for the worst. Could not have been more wrong: i dropped my bike off on Saturday afternoon, was asked for my sales receipt on Monday and was told on Tuesday that I would be receiving a new (2015) comparable model frame and fork from Cannondale and that this was being shipped out shortly. Continuing to hold my breath - a lot can go wrong in a situation like this - I was told the following Monday that I should be good to go on Tuesday. 10 days after dropping my bike off, I picked up the new bike on Tuesday evening and it was even better than expected. HUGE KUDOS go to Darren, Brian and the Carl Hart Team and to CANNONDALE for standing behind their product way better than another major brand (starts with S).

I have been dealing with carl hart for over 20 years fro me wife and children and has ALWAYS found them to be professional and knowdlegbl of products. When you try other bike mechanics you will return to carl hart. There mechanics aqre the best and wikk fix our issue quickly and as cheaply as possible

A good friend suggested me this place, he said is LI’s best bike shop, unfortunately is open only 4 hours per day (1-4 pm) so is being impossible to get there during the week.

2022-01-25Great bike store! My go to for any bike needs! This store has a range of bikes from basic, all the way to heavy duty full suspension or E-bikes! I really appreciate the style of the store with real in depth products offers such as aluminum wheels, trail treats, and winter wear! The staff are exceptional and super friendly! I’ve bought two bikes in a month! Great store!

2022-03-02Very professional shop, I spoke with Eric and advised him of the bike I wanted. He advised that he had it in stock and could have it built by the time I arrived (2 hours). He charged me MSRP and did not price gouge me like a certain other dealer was attempting to do. Shop was also very clean, organized and had plenty to choose from. I will definitely be recommending him customers, especially the ones I know live in his area.

2022-07-02Brought my 4 month old bike in for its 1st tune up and to inquire about going tubeless. The guys here were honest, informative and suggested upgrading my tires and going tubeless. They did an amazing job and my bike is riding so much more smoothly. This is the only bike shop I will use.

2022-05-18My Santa Cruz was stolen and CH was the only place I could find a replacement that wasn’t insanely priced due to the current market. Bike is in great shape, shipped quickly and they were understanding when I was weary of making such a significant purchase over the phone. The best place.
