Oh my gosh. If I lived closer to Owego I guarantee I would spend a lot of time in Carols. I was impressed by the 20+ available flavors for different coffees, as well as the beautiful artwork hanging on the walls. Seems like there is plenty of seating, and the cozy little corner with the couches was my favorite. Such a relaxed and fun little place! Carol is such a sweet lady. You will not regret stopping in.
Great place to grab some quality coffee and a variety of different breakfast and lunch items they also make bagels in house and they are absolutely delicious. Check this place out if your in Owego it’s a must stop shop. The entire staff is friendly and there is artwork all over the place which is a great calming experience.
So glad we happened upon this place while we were headed to Ohio. The owners are great and food amazing. From scratch bagels made on the premises. Well, everything made there. You can tell it’s all homemade. The frosting was awesome...definitely not gross grocery store frosting but the real deal.Such a great atmosphere with original art on the walls and a guy tuning his guitar up for a performance.Definitely worth a stop and can’t go wrong with anything you get. We wanted to get one of everything!
Wow absolutely delightful place. I went in for a *very* quick stop on the way to Ithaca just to use the bathroom and have a coffee. Had an absolutely AMAZING handmade bagel and lavender vanilla latte. What’s more, three of the artists who’s art lines the walls were there. I wish I had more time to look at all the beautiful work. Thank you!
Such an amazing experience. The owner, Carol is usually there and she is a wonderful woman. Going in the in the early afternoon is my new favorite thing.. Theres great food, great art, and great LIVE music with a house musician. This is a must visit if you are ever in Owego
Calm atmosphere to study and sit back and enjoy a biscotti and your beverage of choice. The passionate display of art is highly enjoyable and the people are always smiling. We like the homemade pumpkin bread and of course free Wifi! If you can hunt the historic side of Owego, stop here for the writings on the wall(1885).
Contrary to what Google Maps says, both indoor seating and outdoor seating are available. The space is decorated with beautiful arts created by the owner. Amazing live music performance that don’t feel too intrusive whatever you are planning to do. Yes, for a seven-dollar latte I wish it were just a tad stronger, but the many unique qualities of this place makes it one of the most memorable coffee spots in the Southern Tier.
Really lovely spot in Owego...I got a large (20 oz) iced latte w/ oat milk and maple syrup and a half moon cookie and it came to around $12. The people who work there are very kind and helpful and the half moon cookie had really rich icing and the chocolate sponge cake was very moist and tasteful.I think they use the brand Oatly for oatmilk which isnt my personal favorite, but other than that I was pleased with my iced latte.Theres a lot of stunning artwork done by Ms. Carol...coupled with their extensive food and drink menu, this small café is a cute little hideout to stop in and rest for a moment. I will definitely be returning once I find myself back in that area! :)
Hubby and I always enjoy stopping in to Carols. She and staff are so very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely...always live music and super comfortable seating. Her homemade soups and sandwiches are delicious, but OH....that iced coffee! Best I have ever had. Desserts are divine too. Everyone should make this little gem of a coffee shop their number one destination in Owego.
OMG ! This place was a whole VIBE. If you need a pick me up , mentally or physically, this is the place for you !! We had Devine coffee , Decadent desserts and bought Amazing Artwork. All while listening to folksy cover music 🎶. What’s not to love ? Thank you Carol , way to live your dream !! See you next time !!
Visiting NY from New Mexico, cleaning out my dads house. He has no internet, so I am sleeping in my car where there is reception (Which is actually comfy! 🤣) Anyway, a Cold Brew is what i need to get going in the morning, but I am covid wary. So, I stopped by here because I LOVE coffee and Art. It is a rainy icky day and I asked if they could deliver curbside. The girl was cheery and said shed be happy to. A few minutes later I had a yummy cold brew in hand. My only negative is that it was a bit pricy (almost $8!)(But maybe Im just not used to NY prices.) Thanks for making the rainy day a little more 🌞 sunshiney! The cold brew is pretty good too!
Good coffee. Great gluten free desserts. Ive been told Carols regular desserts are good too. Also makes a pretty good chili. Nice atmosphere and always enjoy going in there whether to sit or grab something for on the go. If you have a few extra minutes in the morning, I recommend Carols over Dunkin.
I’ve visited plenty of times with my many friend groups and every single person I’ve brought with me has always had the same exact expression of absolute awe on their faces. This place is just beautiful, all around. No other place captures home and wonder in one perfect picture such as the way that Carol has managed to do with her little stand of candles and soap or her MANY fantastic and well-done paintings. The staff are always pleasant to talk to and can hold out a conversation with whoever you may be. Carol is the SWEETEST person you could ever have the pleasure of talking to, if she was not a part of the equation, Carol’s would have such a sad tone to it because the heart wouldn’t be there to supple the body. I love everything about this place and I recommend it to anybody who is a coffee lover, an art enthusiast, or just a person who likes to explore new places. Carol’s is a little piece of heaven on earth.
The atmosphere and friendly attitude of the staff were beyond incredible. I was visiting out of town and was having a problem with my cards. The girls working insisted to kindly pay for my coffee and cake out of their own pocket. This was the nicest thing ever and very grateful for their kindness. Thank you so much ❤️ 🙏.
Don’t often review places but was so impressed here I decided to.Was driving through from Elmira to Binghamton and took a pitstop at this place for a quick smoothie and glad I did. Service was super friendly, the entire room was warm and inviting with live music and incredible artwork to gaze over and the smoothie (Pineapple) of the best fruit smoothies I can remember having I’m quite some time.Just a perfect little small town friendly cafe.Highly recommend!
We had breakfast in Carol’s coffee and art bar on our way to Niagara falls, what an amazing surprise. The home made bagel was the best I’ve ever had, we also had pastries which they were all great, chocolate chip cookie was really nice. The bar is also really pretty and has great paintings all over. Really recommended.
Really good coffee, cheddar garlic chive scone, and a really tasty half moon cookie, along with a chicken salad wrap. Staff was pleasant and attentive though we didnt have any issues. The artwork was beautiful as well. And though we didnt get to hear it Ive been told that their live music is really good too.
I walk into this coffee shop and I am greeted with the smell of fresh warm coffee and friendly smiling faces, the staff is effective and well trained, the owner is there almost all of the time and the baking is amazing. The most noticeable thing however is the atmosphere, the lighting, the beautiful live music, the quiet, and best of all the beautiful art. I could walk in and stay for hours. It is absolutely the perfect place to wind down from a long day and just relax while drinking a good cup of coffee.
This coffee house is decorated completely with the owners paintings. Beautiful pieces of flowers and gardens selling in the 15,000 range. But if thats too rich for you, her coffee and home made baked goods are superb. I get the feeling staff there are her art students. They also do the baking. Great stop, I was so glad I chanced on it.
From Maryland and stopped in on a very hot day looking for a frozen coffee drink and even though it was not on the menu they concocted a frappacino for me! It was delicious as was everything else we bought and the staff was beyond wonderful! Art work was spectacular as well. We will definitely stop in when visiting again!
Carol herself was kind enough to make a German chocolate cake upon request for a private party. The price was unbeatable, the cake was phenomenal, and the service was beyond friendly; I was treated like an old friend. The café itself is beautiful, and when I visited it, there were live performers playing music so lovely that I was surprised to find it wasnt coming from a speaker set somewhere. I will definitely be back to lounge in one of the comfy chairs with a cup of what smelled like excellent coffee.
Great place to relax and read a book or get together with friends. Really good food including sandwiches, soup and delicious treats like cookies and cake. Coffee is excellent and they often have live music that provides great ambience. I highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a cup while strolling through Owegos historic district.
Cute little cafe, nice people, drinks were perfect. Our only complaint was the quality of soups. I got a cream of broc and it tasted very strange like it was off, about to go bad. My partner got chili, it looked good but it had no flavor. Overall lovely place just not good soup.
Funky friendly little cafe on the main drag. Carol and her husband Dave are the loveliest couple. Welcomed us to their restaurant right away.We had homemade soup and pie! YummyWent back the next night for a night of acoustical live guitar and singing. Wonderful evening. Again welcomed by Greg who MCd the evening.A definite must if you are DT Owego
Perfect study spot with gluten-free options. Im in town visiting friends, and they recommended Carols as a coffee shop with food where I could sit and study without causing resentment. Ive been here hours—long enough to enjoy a great latte, a terrific GF peanut butter cookie, and yummy lunch of butternut squash soup and a GF grilled cheese. Delish! And the staff is so kind! Oh, and the live music is pretty perfect, too! Makes me wish I lived here, and I know a few DC-area spots that could learn from Carols.
Carols has been a very important place to me ever since I started to frequent this gem on Friday, August 25. In a few words, Ill sum up whats best about this place; the rest of my review will be in great detail.Friendly and warm atmosphere, cozy, inviting, affordable, plenty of optionsThe first thing I noticed when I walked in was the pure friendliness of the person behind the counter, who I later learned was Carol. Ive been to Carols most days of the week since my first visit, and Carol has been consistently personable every time, as well as the rest of her staff. The first menu item I ever tried from Carols was an iced latte. I had already gone to Starbucks that day, so I tried a decaf, which was equally as good as the caffeinated version. I opened a sugar packet out of habit to sweeten the iced latte, but, to my surprise, ended up tossing the sugar because I didnt need any... and this is coming from a person with a Sweet Tooth. That day, I also tried the Michelangelo chicken salad wrap. I had never eaten chicken salad before. It was quite tasty, though. After several more solo visits to Carols, I brought my mom and my sister. I go to school in the area, but my mom and my sister were visiting from 2.5 hours away, plus an extra 30 minutes to Owego since I live in Vestal. I loved Carols from the start, but I wasnt sure if my sister would find something she would enjoy because shes a picky eater, doesnt like coffee, and can be funny about eating meat. My family loved the food and it was so filling. (My sister and I got the Van Gogh roasted turkey sandwich this time.)Lately, Ive been trying desserts from Carols, and Ive had so many delicious ones! Theyre all so good, but my all-time favorite would have to be the blueberry bar, followed by peanut butter dream bar, apple crumb pie (or something like that), Russian tea cakes, and so on. Oh, and try the homemade bagels too.The atmosphere of Carols would be impossible to replicate. Theres live music almost daily, but not all day long, so you can avoid the live music if thats not your thing. The place attracts a pleasant crowd of people, which is an added bonus. The baristas know how to take good care of you. Carol is there almost every day and she demonstrates exactly what outstanding customer service is. Sofas and chairs are available for seating. Its nice to look up from my laptop every few minutes and see the beautiful paintings and exposed brick. Its almost like a museum because you can see that there is so much history inside the shop, and if you pay close attention, you can learn a lot from the interior and the paintings.Being from the Hudson Valley, Ive had some exposure to artsy towns such as Beacon, Cold Spring, and New Paltz, and their respective coffee shops. Let me tell you: they cant hold a candle to Carols and Owego. Ive never been a person to care about local businesses, but Owego really is a special place and Carols contributes to the villages character and takes hospitality, coffee, and real food to the next level. Supporting a business that is run by good, honest people is a win-win. Its always an uplifting experience coming to Carols. I think its a great place to come whether youre a regular customer or just visiting the village.

2021-10-28What a gem! We were visiting Iron Kettle Farm in Candor and decided to stop by for coffee. The coffee (and hot chocolate for our grandsons) was excellent. At 2:00 on a Wednesday afternoon, a local mucisian was providing live music. And art is displayed everywhere. A true delight... not to be missed!

2022-01-05Best coffee shop in the area. Great coffee, atmosphere, music, art. By far the best homemade bagels Ive ever had hands down. Dave and Carol are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. Ive spent hours there relaxing on couches or sitting outside in warm weather. I live out of state in Ohio but make it a priority to go there everyday Im in my hometown of Owego.

2022-04-22Outstanding in every way! Today I had a REAL! ROASTED turkey sandwich & one of the four home made soup selections. I chose chicken veg. Loaded with chicken and fresh veg. A friend had Home made raspberry pie! All the desserts are fantastic, including a large selection of biscotti. My iced coffee was the best Ive ever had! Fantastic atmosphere with local art plus live music by local musicians playing softly in the background, making for a soothing and relaxing respite from our harsh world. Very reasonable prices; incredible quality and service.

2022-05-16Carol’s is one of my favorite spots to spend an afternoon. If it’s rainy or snowy, posting up at one of the corner tables, if it’s sunny and warm, snagging a spot close to the windows or outside. 🌞 The staff is always so kind and welcoming. The food and beverage options are wonderful and always delicious. If you haven’t yet visited, I highly recommend treating yourself!
