Carrabbas Italian Grill in other cities:
First time here and Ive got no complaints. Wasnt expecting much so I didnt want to try something too out there and the flavors were great and the food was fresh and hot. Servers were working as best as they could and the experience was overall great. The deals helped as well. The place can easily seat any size party youd like to bring.
Normally I like Carrabbas, but the food and service was dreadful, which was surprising since our visit was during the middle of the week. My wifes dish, the champagne shrimp pasta lacked flavor, we had it returned, they refunded our money. The cooks were on their phones in the kitchen, probably explains why the food was delayed. Avoid chain Italian restaurants.
I visited as part of a group earlier this year and was extremely impressed with the service and the passion of the staff. The food was on another level altogether. If you like Italian cooking then this is a must do restaurant. In my opinion, Carrabbas has some of the most authentic and delicious Italian cooking on earth. Tasty beyond. Will definitely be back when I am in NY next
Food was outstanding as always. Busy on a Saturday night, but that was expected. They have the same issues as other establishments in the area - under staffed, so there was an extended wait to place the order. The staff was doing their best, they were just overwhelmed. Not their fault.
I gave this place 4 stars because on my last visit in Central Islip they were out of salad and mashed potatoes. What restaurant runs out of the basics when thats all they do? There are grocery stores to get items to make these side dishes. The manager offered us apps in theyre place so they made up for it but Ive never been to a restaurant where they ran out of basics.
Dont patronize!! They hand you bags of food, at Curbside pick up, short you a $20 meal, and when you call they say Sorry. Come back!!) When you ask 4 delivery, Mgr says Cant do! Should I wake a sleeping baby?? Marys delivered pie in15 minutes!!!Well be using Marys Pizza or Mulberry St from now on!! They can choke on my $20 ......till I think of some other way to get revenge!
I was heading home from a memorial service and unfamiliar with the area. I searched for restaurants near the hotel and Carrabbas popped up. I am a fan of the chain but must admit; all locations arent created equal. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the service was excellent, the food was hot and fresh and the atmosphere was welcoming. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely stop in for a meal. Great experience!!!
When you first walk in, not only are you greeted by welcoming smiles, you are also greeted with the awesome aroma of great food. All smiles aside though, the food was delicious, the wait staff were very nice and cordial. My lady and I think this place will become another place on our list to visit frequently. I highly recommend you try this place, its great for a first date, first impressions, or just an all around great time... and it does not break the bank.
How anyone thinks this food is edible is beyond me. This has to be the worst “Italian” food I’ve ever eaten in my life. The red sauce tasted bland and no flavor. I’d rather eat at a dollar pizza slice than eat this food. Absolutely astonishing they are in business in a place like Long Island where pizza places have better food.
The food was wonderful and the peach sangria was so good that we Saud we would go back just for that. The service was awful we were one of two tables in the entire restaurant. We went on a Tuesday at 2pm. The restaurant was very slow.. Our waitress forgot EVERY request me made (ex. Bread, water, parm cheese, etc) she seemed very distracted despite the fact she didnt appear that busy. The food was great but service was honestly terrible. Would recommend the food
Thank you so much, Lexi, for the outstanding service you gave us. Well definitely be back for more. Today Id tried the Mahi Wolfe, and its another fantastic dish. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and service. Dont forget to ask for Lexi. She is by far the best waitress EVER!
Had a salad w/ shrimp and scallops on it . The salad was nicely prepared , but the seafood was barely warm on this visit . Seltzer had a good amount of carbonization to it , and the unsweetened ice tea wasnt overly strong . We opted not to have desert that night . Well go back again to try one of those in the near future .
The manager Adalyn (not sure how its spelled) and the server Antonia were absolutely wonderful people. They accommodated me and my family when we didnt like where we were placed and were just all around amazing to us. Had to have been one of the best moments of customer service Ive experienced. The food was great as always. Such sweet people truly. Ill definitely be coming here more often.
The food was excellent the only dish I was disappointed in was the chicken soup I didnt expect to order chicken soup n findIt So spicy I couldnt eat it.They should Advertise it as A spicy chicken soup! When I think of chicken soup I always think of smooth clear broth maybe some vegetables in it n noodles or some kind pasta white meat shredded chicken. The BestIve ever had was my dear mother in laws. She always took the extra steps to make it her own style n I forOne always enjoyed it. I have tried to emulate it n Its very good to me n most others but its not quite the same as MOMAS ANNA MOLINARO+ I make little meatballs n I use college inn chicken broth I also cook only the chicken breast in the broth. When the chicken is completely cooked n tender I removeThe breast from the broth nLet cool a bit so I dont burn my fingers. Once its cool enough to handle I peel off the skin n shredd all the white meat off the bone n place it in a small amount of broth as to not let it get dry. In the meantime I haveMy pasta cooking chose your favorite, I prefer orzo nWhen making it just for me Ill use Pastina. SometimesI might even scramble an egg or two. I serve this dishWith fresh hard grading Pocarino. YUMMM!!!
Got take out - Heather was so pleasant & helpful on the phone. We are staying at a hotel and just got back after a 90 minute soccer game in the windy pouring rain & 46 degrees out. Took a chance & ordered rigatoni with chicken - sauce on the side, broccoli, chicken soup & Italian salad. Tasted homemade & full of flavor in every item!!! Wish there was one of these back home! Super quick delivery too.
My company used Carrabbas to cater our holiday party and they did fantastic! The food was amazing and the service was unbelievable. Catie and Sarah were very helpful in making our holiday party so wonderful. We would all highly recommend this company to cater your next event and we will all be stopping in for dinners at their location! Thank you for everything!!
This place pays extreme attention to their customers wants, needs, and desires. My wife had food allergies and after informing the waitress, they made a custom sauce for my wife which she loved! We were told that because they have a from scratch kitchen and that everything is made fresh, they can do that. We appreciate everything they do and they do it very very well. Management bends over backwardsto make sure everyone had arm awesome experience when they come here.I would recommend this place to anyone with no hesitation!
Great restaurant for a large group or family with kids. Pretty noisey so if you are looking for a quiet dinner, not the place. I have been there quite a few times and its been the same noise level.. However the food is decent, not a huge selection tho. The service is great and the manager goes around asking how you are and if you need anything which I like because it shows she cares. The prices I personally feel are a little high for the type of restaurant. Overall I would recommend to try it out if you have yet to and see for yourself.
We were a large group, 13, took a little time to accommodate us, to be expected. Food is consistently good here. They are kid friendly. They are able to accommodate multiple large groups. They have cozy booths for more intimate nights. Staff is also consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant.
Great family food. Best chicken soup you will ever have. Food enjoyed by all. I only gave 4 stars because while our server was working hard covering many tables and for the most part was attentive to our needs, he never returned to our table after the food was delivered to ask how everything was and had to wait for refills. Other than that all was well.
Very good food, excellent service, and convenient location near my home is how I would describe this very busy restaurant.I dined alone and had a whole table to myself which made me feel special and lonely at the same time. Kind of like the Twilight Zone. You are not really sure...then the food comes. All anxiety is banished from my cranium and the stars align once again! The menu options are tasty and satisfying and two stars could be added by any Italian food afficionado.I am glad this venue is a short walking distance from my home and is also a great value for the fare they offer.
I personally love Carrabbas. They have the tastiest bread out of any of the places I have ever been to. My waiter (do not remember name) was very kind. He was punctual when I asked his to be back at my table at 1:45pm with my check and a bag in hand for me. Very informative, and a great addition to your work force. My only issue was the garlic fries were very bland, needed salt.
I went for dinner with my girlfriend. Food was delicious. Our server was extremely friendly and beautiful ( and sexy). She was kind of flirting with me. I think it made my girlfriend jealous so when we got back home, I got the most delicious hot coffee and dessert in bed.
The restaurant used to be really good. But after they changed everything it turned terrible. The food is tasteless the atmosphere isnt welcoming. It took forever to get each course and then a whole half hour to get our bill. The waitress we had was definitely drinking. Even Olive Garden is better than this. Never again.
Delicious food and most satisfying. The bread with olive oil was great...soft and flavorful. The chicken soup tasted homemade. I ordered the shrimp and scallop spiedini .only issue ead that there was no more shrimp so I was able to get extra scallops...that ed delicious also. It was definitely worth the drive.
I dont know if they had an off day, but the food was terrible... the marinara sauce was runny and tasted more like cabbage than tomatoes... the rest was downhill from there. On the plus side, we didnt get sick. But... yikes. I had been to a Carrabbas in WA state a while back that was delicious and seemed to have a different menu. This one was just... gross.
We decided to give Carrabbas another try, after the terrible service we had the 3 years ago.The service wasnt terrible, but it wasnt anything to rave about, either. Our server was pleasant.Me and husband ordered 3 apps ( mozzarella, sausage stuffed mushrooms and their signature wings). The sauce for the mozzarella was chunky, with a little kick....very delightful. The wings were spicy, could have been removed a minute sooner, but very tasty. The mushrooms were loved by my husband. I was a little underwhelmed with the size of the 4 mushrooms. I ate one.The star of the show was the entree, which was the Pork Chop Marsala....THE BEST pork chop I have ever eaten! For some reason, I thought it was supposed to be stuffed with Prosciutto & Fontina Cheese, I am NOT complaining. It was sooooo good...took forever, but was worth the wait. Spinach is not that expensive...you could have served more.
I want to say Angela was an amazing waitress. If you ever are in the mood to eat her you should go on a Saturday around 1pm and ask for Angela. She was attentive and kept checking on us. She made us feel like VIPs. Angela we didnt have to ask for refills, she paced out different courses to make sure we had to time to eat and not feel rushed. But brought the next course on time where it was nice and hot.She really paid attention to detail to make sure we had a great experience.Curb side works well also. I had the Monday 3 course meal for $12.99. They said the food would be ready in 20 minutes and they were right on time.
There are only 2 reasons why I did not give this a 5. The chicken soup had a piece of bloody chicken in it and the bartender did not say goodbye when shift was done. The steak was delicious as were the shrimp with breadcrumbs that came with it, but the mashed potatoes actually had too much garlic for my liking.
SO I was blown out of the water with exceptional service at this location.I was with my fiance who also goes everywhere with me . We went to the Outlets Tanger Outlets out in Long Island on the Holiday Monday Jan 20,2020 . We went shopping and decided to go to this restaurant location for Carrabbas because we have been to the other one out on long island did not get such great service as we did at this location. I am Sept 11,2001 First Responder and for the holiday they were recognizing me for my service and what I did on that day. It made the two of us tear because no other restaurant has ever made us feel so special and appreciated as customers. I am part of the frequent dining program with Carrabbas also because we travel between New York and New Jersey and go to Carrabbas so much.Thank you to this location for making our evening for dinner so special with amazing food and amazing service!!!Im sorry I live so far away or otherwise I would be going broke going to this location every other week. (LOL)
This place is always so good especially for a chain Italian restaurant. This place is by far superior to the olive garden and on par to a local Italian restaurant. Place is kid friendly and service is always pleasant and good. Id recommend this place. Whenever we do a family outing we stop by.
The food was okay. I had the identical dish at another Carrabbas which it out matched the dish from this location. The person who waited was subtle. I will go back at some point to see if things are improved. This restaurant not a Olive Garden but it is not a Carmines.
Hostess crossed us off the wait list in error, so we waited 35 minutes more than what we should have. Told the waitress my wife had a dairy allergy. They brought a salad with feta cheese on it( we mistook it for garlic so my wife didnt realize until halfway through)and a pasta dish with alfredo(didnt order it that way.)Drinks took forever to come from the bar. The only saving grace is the manager took care of the bill with all of the errors.
Food is great but a little pricey. Their prices were about four dollars less before Carrabbas re-renovated. I never understood why they bothered when the resturant looked good as it was. Unfortunately, the customers paid for the new look. I’m guessing Carrabbas business isn’t doing as well that they are trying new ways to bring in customers. Instead of introducing psychics, lower your prices!
Very disappointed with management in this restaurant, they told me that the waiting time was an hour and I was called in 1 hr 1/2 later. They need to time themselves better and not hold and lie to customers, cause if I was told that the waiting time was 1hr I would of not waited !!!!😡😡😡DO NOT RECOMMEND CENTRAL ISLIP
Big selection of fresh apps and wicked salads tho I miss the crostinis with the bruscetta .. appreciate the excellent service esp considering it was late..and I asked for a special request on my salad and the kitchen went above and beyond ..work of art.. and overall nice atmosphere..good people that cared and were rly on top of their stuff; bartender had a great knowledge of their pretty nice selection of top shelf spirits and knew what to do with it..fun stuff=]
Been here several times and have always left happy and satisfied. The bar is is quiet and cooler temp wise than the rest of the restaurant. Food is delicious and hot, hours of op are convenient and the staff is always pleasant and down to earth. Great Italian fare all the way
Had the worst experience here, came on a Sunday evening they had run out of meatballs and the sauce was like it came straight from a ragu can. shrimp was overcooked and chewy. lasagna had no ricotta cheese in it and the alfredo had one pea, was very watery and flavorless. sent food back 2 times and finally gave up and did not want it. service was subpar to be nice and it was just a disaster at that.. will not be returning here ever.
My family and I went here yesterday for a Church outing. There was 5 people at our table one who was my teenage son who loves his bread. When he asked the waitress for more bread, she responded with you ate 4 loafs already. !!!!!!!!!! I didnt realize Carrabbas staff is the Bread Police and keep track of every bread basket they bring you. Other then coming here for our yearly church fundraiser, i would never give them any of my money. Rude and quite stingy.
Went with my husband and 2 children tonight. Have been to this carrabas at least 20 times. We always leave satisfied. Sometimes it’s not perfect but we never left upset.Tonight we left really upset after being served by ieashia. She was extremely rude and didn’t smile once. Had to ask for every refill. The food came out ok but her attitude completely ruined our appetite. We got so annoyed that we had our dessert put in to-go containers. She started bussing the table as we were eating dessert, rushing us out. I was half way finished with my coffee and she asked, “you done with that?” That was enough for us. Got the bill, left her less than 10% tip and left. Now I’m at home wishing I completely stiffed her. Ieashia needs some serious training or a different job. My receipt number is 0134 if any cares to follow up.
1.Place is going downhill. 2 in our party had calimari and both of them had food poisening that evening.2.Red sauce was very spicey which was fine with me but not my buddy. They should advertise that the sauce is spicey and give diners a choice since the sauce was fine on a different dish one of our wives had.3.Service was incredibly slow, even though we were the only people in the restaurant(it was about 3:30pm).Not going back.
We celebrated my mothers birthday at Carrabbas in Central Islip. We were seated immediately. Waitress was prompt and very hospitable. We were a party of 4 and we all had the prickly pear Margarita. A definite MUST. Appetizers came out quickly and were delicious. From the Calamari, to the Mozzarella sticks to the mussels in white wine. My wife enjoyed the Salmon and the rest of us had the shrimp and scallops pasta Alla vodka. Fantastic! At the end of the meal, the waitress surprised my mom with a creme brulee with a candle and sang her happy birthday. We did not request this and the smile on my mom was priceless. All in all....I would go back again and again.
Great italian restaurant with the most tasty chicken parmesan Ive ever had that just blew my mind. There bread is plain delicious always warm as well as fresh salads. Employees are absolutely great helpful with their full extend certainly a wonderful place for dinner.
Best Italian restaurant Ive ever been to. Olive garden has nothing on this place the steaks are excellent and Ive been to fancy places that cost more but still dont beat Carrabbas food. Fully recommend this place to whoever is in the mood for Italian. Try it once atleast its worth that much.
We three people went to CI Carrabbas . Sunday January 5th at 8:30 to get a quick dinner and felt that the hostess very rudly informed to us that they were closing in 10 minutes, I think this is very disappointed and the employees need customer service training. We live in Islip Landing and we go so often. Now we wont come back again. Bad very bad
I have been in this place really often, my complain is not about the food or waitress, if not because i alway hear the kitchen people cursing in Spanish thinking tha nobody would understand them, clearly i know Spanish,im costa rican and in this occasion i heard the cheff complaining about my order because i ask an special order the im PAYING, if you still reading up to this point, we gonna share the same worries .. if the are acting like that in the middle of the restaurant without care, are they gonna spit or do something to my food?. Not happy, i didnt eat my food, paid and i left
If there food as a good as their advertising theyd have a hit. However after waiting 20 plus mins for drinks, over 30 mins for apps, and then an hour for dinner which was served with frozen crab meat we decided to leave. The place is poorly run and its evident by the slow service and the manager comping meals all night.
The food here is excellent everything is made fresh to order havent had a bad meal in the 4+ years i have been coming here i have eaten here with my GF, friends, and family everyone loves this place the only downside is that it only out in Islip out near where the L.I.Ducks baseball team play but well worth the ride so if you like real Italian food take the ride you will love it have fun come and enjoy.
Went last night for the last time, lukewarm warm soup,so so bread, more chicken in meals, I dont think so,got 3 little pieces in my linguine, my grandson got 2 LITTLE PIECES in his chicken dish the size and thickness of a silver dollar pancake and a dollop of mashed potatoes, he is 26 and got a serving size for a 7 year old. Raising the prices and making the serving smaller just doesnt cut it .ADIOS CARRABBAS.
Went with a large group tonight we had 2 waitress the service was terrible we had to ask for drinks and they instead of asking would you like coffee or dessert instead they just took the bill and put it on the table and walked away terrible the food was OK not the best and the portions were terrible ordered the grilled chicken with broccoli instead of pasta and they get in there was four pieces of broccoli on to on the plate it was 5:00 pm the restaurant was empty

2022-03-26Food was so spicy and my steak was so fatty couldnt even finish it. The steak mash potatoes and frozen broccoli all taste the same my husbands chicken was so spicy he could not finish it he has acid reflux so he couldnt eat it when we told the waitress she got an attitude and did not come back to our table the service really sucked there. I had to ask another waitress for my check terrible and then they had the nerve to ask if i want to take it home I wouldnt give that food to me dog. I paid 60.00 for garbage I drove 40 miles to go eat there definitely not worth it. Dont waste your time with this place.

2022-07-05I come here multiple times a month. food and service here are incredible! there was one issue a long time ago where my chicken was undercooked and made me sick but it was years ago. they’ve gotten better. the happy hour specials are great, food is reasonably priced and so are drinks. my favorite dish is the Chicken Bryan. the chocolate cake is also so delicious.

2022-02-24The service was great and the food even better. Our waitress was wonderful and made sure throughout our visit that we were satisfied and made sure our drinks were refilled and empty dishes taken out. The staff friendliness was at a 10/10 from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

2022-07-09Hostess was great , waiter was great , food was delicious. They only get 2 stars because of the wait to sit down. Was told 20 minutes but ended up being closer to 50. There were plenty of empty tables so that wasnt the problem. Be ready to wait for a while if youre interested in going.

2021-10-09UPDATE 10/09/2021 Cory, I really appreciate you reaching out to me and I enjoyed our conversation. You also gave me additional insight to other variables that may have contributed to my experience as I ordered through GrubHub and didnt dine it. I certainly look forward to an opportunity to visit your establishment in the near future to experience in house dining and taste the difference. Thank you again.. UPDATE 10/07/2021 Wrote you two days ago in response to your response of my review and have yet to hear from you.I am not sure if it was my high expectation of what Italian food should taste like or just the food but I was truly disappointed. I ordered dinner for my family and normally I dont like to order pasta or pasta with sauce from any place because I expect my pasta to be al dente and my sauce to have flavor. The penne was overcooked and the sauce was bitter and had a canny taste that my own parmesan cheese could not make edible. I also ordered the chicken parmesan and it was equally disappointing. While it looked good it too had no flavor and had a paper thin slice of what I believe was mozzarella. In addition the cutlet itself was overcooked or possibly reheated giving it a rubbery hard texture. I also ordered the house salad and I guess what can you expect it had lettuce, a few cut up pieces cucumbers and a sprinkle of some type of cheese. My daughter had the same thing I did except she ordered the garlic mash potatoes in place of the penne. The potatoes had so much garlic they were light brown and bitter. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries for my granddaughter because she loves them but after one bite of the chicken fingers said she didnt like them or the fries. So I tasted them and just as everything else the chicken was overcooked, hard and very bland. I know that some people would think I was overly critical or nitpicking but when you pay close to $ 100 on a meal from a restaurant that claims to cook authentic Italian food that is what you expect and nothing less. For all of that I could have and should have ordered pizza.

2022-06-11Lexii, my Server, gave an uplifting experience to our dinner. She anticipated what we were set to request, but which we didn’t need to ask for. We were taken aback, as we dine out almost every night and yet, rarely do any of our Servers, go above and beyond, as she did. So, it was a refreshing experience. Hostess, Vanessa, was sweet and accommodating. She made sure I was quickly seated, in the booth I requested.

2022-04-10The 3 amuse-bouche chicken nuggets were delicious but not at ALL worth $30!!!!We were just about the only table seated and I had forgotten that we got salads with our meal. I was beginning to wonder where our meal was when the salad came....$16 for the SMALLEST glass of not very good wine, was a rip off.
