Catskill Mountains Resort in other cities:
Attended a wedding here this past weekend, and was very impressed. Despite the fact that there were 200 people in attendance, the staff was able to adequately serve and attend to each guest. It was all coordinated and managed very well by William. I was so impressed with his management style and level of service, that I am considering having my own destination wedding at this location. The grounds of the resort and the rooms within are very aesthetically pleasing and beautifully maintained. The food was amazing and plentiful. Zacs lounge has a great atmosphere to grab a drink and hang out. There are several tvs behind the bar had on all of the relevant sporting events (football) throughout my stay.Though the resort is located in a small town, William and his staff exceeded expectations in accommodating a large number of guests with the highest caliber of customer service. As a side note: I noticed a reviewer said they had a problem with the internet. I was able to connect and use the internet without issue.
We were attending a concert on 7/5/19 in Bethel Woods, NY. I was looking for a place roughly 30 minutes away. In this area, there isnt much mid-range places to stay. I decided to stay here to try it out after reading many reviews. Here is my view of our stay and the facility. They state that the facility was completely redone in 2018. It certainly looks it. All of the buildings were clearly redone. Our room was fresh. The bathroom was new and very nicely done. They have a very large pool with outdoor tiki bar. We didnt use the bar as I purchased food locally and we brought our own drinks. People were ordering food and drinks at the pool. Everyone seemed very happy with the service and the quality of the food. Other people specifically said that the dinners were excellent as well. The breakfast was buffet for $15 per person. We didnt try it as we dont like big breakfasts or buffets. They have nice courtyard with a gazebo and 2 gas fire pits. All of the grounds and pool were well maintained. Very nice. The staff was friendly and provided great service. There were limited rooms when we booked and we booked a room with 2 double beds. As I mention the room was fresh and clean. I will say the layout had something to be desired. I cant image 4 people in the room as there was barely enough room to walk around as the beds filled the room. In my opinion, there should have been only 1 bed (queen) and there should have been a chair and or desk in the room. There was also not the normal stand for you to set your suitcase on. Fortunately we didnt need the other bed as it was only the 2 of us. Not sure how 4 people could stay in the room with luggage etc. We did feel cramped just the 2 of us. They only provided Styrofoam and plastic cups. I would expect glass in this price range. Our last day when we were leaving, both my wife and I ran out of Hot water while in the shower. It didnt get ice cold, but it was a cool shower. Again, this is a basic so it didnt meet my expectations. As I said, in this area, there isnt a lot of mid-range places. In this price range I would expect more and really wouldnt consider this a resort.
I was recently going through my gallery and came across photos I took when I was there 3 months ago. I must say a gem of peace and tranquility in the middle of nowhere. A perfect gateway from the city.Clean and quite. The staff was amazing. The room/ cabin was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities a girl can ask for.The food was good as well with the selection.Perfect place to have a girls-only gateway or a mini vacay with your better half.Theres even accommodation if you want to have a large family gateway.Awww after looking at my pictures I so want to go back soon, especially to thank the owner for his hospitality.
We stayed at this lovely resort for 2 nights. It was wonderful. The staff is great, including Wendy who is exceptional. We were up there for a concert at Bethel Woods. We had lunch at the resort restaurant and enjoyed it very much. Breakfast was just OK, but can definitely be improved. Room was clean and cozy.Thank you again!
Catskill Mountains Resort is pretty, clean and well maintained. My husband and I have been going here for years, its always been a positive experience and weve been well taken care of - its run by some of the nicest people around. Great choice if youre going to Bethel Woods!
The resort is a comfortable friendly environment. It is well maintained. The pool is large, heated and good for families or non families. There are fire pits which are a nice touch. The bar is a friendly spot for a drink.Overall a nice place to stay.We were there on a Tuesday and Wednesday the last week in June before season. There are three restaurants, a pizza cafe, breakfast room and a dining room. Work is needed in terms of environment and the chefs standards. We went to the Pizza Cafe with our grandkids. None of the tables were set. The paper menu was torn, wet with scribbling on it. We decided to leave. We had breakfast two days. The first day was fine with the exception of the luke warm coffee. The second day not so good. My wife ordered the French Toast which I had on the first day. She received the bread ends with small distorted dry pieces. The Chef should never have prepared and served the plate. Again the coffee was luke warm. The server was accomodating and friendly and the room comfortable.
I was misinformed about the resort! When I call up there to make inquire about the place. I specifically told the personnel that I was looking for a low key quiet resort. She stated to me that the resort was quiet and low-key. Well that was a damn lie!!! It was three big there group that was there!! I felt out of place because I came by myself!! I felt the girls that not communicate well to me. I was under the idea that lunch and dinner was charge to my room number. But one of the waitress came outside ask me to pay for my food. I was so embarrass!
Peaceful & beautiful. Rooms were nice. Well kept. A little small for the price though. What i would like to mention is the restaurant. We were really disappointed with our experience at the restaurant. The mountainside restaurant. Service was great but the food was the worst part. We went there late for dinner, in fact on my birthday. What was supposed to be a special dinner turned out to be a disaster. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and grilled mahi mahi. Both of them were stale. The chickens texture was mushy. You could easily tell its a chicken thats gone bad. Served cold. The mahi mahi was served with some other sauce not as per the one mentioned in the menu. I am guessing it was a left over sauce from another menu item. What a disgrace. Serving a totally different sauce is acceptable too but not a sauce thats gone bad, pieces lost the texture, not fresh. You feel so bad sitting at the table being served such food and expect someone to eat it. I am sorry to say, but just wanted to let you know that the place has a lot of room for improvement. I hope no one else gets treated the same way. I felt insulted sitting with my family and couldnt take a proper bite of the main course. Waste of money and spoilt a rather special occasion.
It was a good place to stay. I only thing that was wrong was the day of leaving. We had originally was suppose to leave on a Friday. But called the place to extend it to Saturday. On the phone they were alright by it. When I got there to register our stay it was not ok. They should have had little tables in the room to sit at. And a little refrigerator to put a couple of drinks. I would go there again, but it needs to be improved.
Came up to this beautiful resort for an overnight trip and had a great time from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. we were greeted at the from counter by a warm and friendly staff that got us into our room in a timely manner. room was clean with comfortable beds, full cable tv, nice, and close to the main house and lounge. the lounge area has a nice pizza oven ( pizza was delicious try the summer pie) a huge bar with dance all top shelf liquor at a reasonable price. there is also a large dance floor and lounge area with couches and chairs to relax at. Outside the bar area is a nice arcade for the kids and adults to have some fun on a rainy day or at night with video and redemption style games. in the main house they have another bar where you can have a drink or glass of wine before you have an amazing dinner prepared by chef Pasqual. i had the french onion soup and hanger steak which were both delicious. the service in the dining room was very good and they were able to accommodate all of our needs. for breakfast they offered a continental style breakfast but also had a hot breakfast option for those who are hungry one of the best bacon and eggs i have ever had. i highly recommend this resort for families or just a weekend getaway with your loved one. its close to kayaking and rafting on the river and they have a shuttle to take you to monticello casino. highly recommend
Booked a room online, later that day got an email stating that they had been overbooked. Called to check, and they told me they had overbooked, but because I was there for a wedding they explicitly said they would have a room for me onsite once they rearranged some things. TWO DAYS before the wedding I get a call saying they did not have a room, and would put me up in an AirBNB at the same price a few miles away. There were multiple AirBNBs within the same distance for 2/3 the price, so why they wouldnt give any discount is confusing. One star for the organization and attempt to charge me full price to be offsite, but gave an additional star because the place itself seemed nice and the reps I spoke to were understanding and attempted to be helpful. And to respond to the owners response, I was explicitly told I would have a room, otherwise I would have booked somewhere else earlier rather than wait until two days before. I was also told the B&B was about 2 miles away, not next door, otherwise why would I have not taken it to use the shuttle to and from the wedding? I was also asked if I had a car to get to the resort from the B&B, which seems like it wouldnt be needed if it was right next door...
My two buddies and I tried the restaraunt for dinner on Sat., Sept 10th. The dinner was great. I had not had a pork chop like this in some time, and my buddies had steak. our compliments to the chef. After a lousy weekend at the carriage house I will be looking at this place for next years 3 day booking( P.S. to the bar, please dont run out of Drambuie for the rustynails )
Friendly greeting at check-in. Main restaurant serves good breakfast. Zacs pizza is ok. Service at both was very slow. Count on an hour and a half for dinner. No hot water after 10. Complained both nights to no avail. Website says swimming pool is Olympic size. Far from it unless you are from Lillyput. Trails are none existent. Could not find the bicycles. Will not be going back
We heard good things about dining at the Catskill Mountains Resort. Therefore, a group of 7 met for dinner with high expectations. 6 out of 7 of us complained of tasteLESS food - from salad to entre. This experience was extremely disappointing and Im wondering if those who recommended the CMR, had a different chef cook for them??
Over priced was there and a manager was yelling at an employee while they were there with there family. The owner Willl i belive his name is didnt have the decency to shake my hand after i spoke to him about the pricing of overnight stays. I would never recommend this place to anyone. If i could give no stars i would
Beautifully redone main house Restaurant has hardwood.floors and linens Interesting menu by french chef without french prices Most items +/- $20 Didnt get to eat in main restaurant but definitely going back to try Had bar pizza and mozzarella sticks in lounge Brick oven pizza was good Mozzarella sticks home made
Visit Catskill NY resort 10/18-10/20 2019. Group leader Ms. Loretta Siblert. The group of 20 did not receive the same package as the other guests. We were told by several guests and staff members we should have received the complimentary horseback ride and the apple orchard pass. Our group ended up paying for the events....the group inquire about these issues and no answers....

2022-05-21No one showed up to get us our cabin. We waited and called but nothing. No answers at all. How do you make a reservation and not be there??!?!?!? The main building looked like it was abandoned.

2019-02-11My husband and I just returned from our weekend at the Catskill Mountain Resort. This is one of the most wonderful resorts we have been to.Very friendly and helpful staff, they know what you want before you do!Will, Andy and Millie are welcoming and can’t do enough for their guest. The chef is brilliant, the meals are presented in a professional and eye appealing way.Not only was every thing we ate delicious, but we couldn’t believe the portions, it was amazing.Saturday night had entertainment and there was also a gentleman selling the loveliest jewelry that I have ever seen.We were fortunate to have stayed in a cabin. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. The women at the front desk were very helpful printing out information on local sites and shopping.I will recommend this resort to all my friends, they made us feel like family.Hope to return to visit our new friends.Thank you all for a fabulous weekend!!

2018-08-24Had an excellent experience at the Catskill Mountains Resort! We took a fairly large party here—upwards of 25 people—and they were exceptionally accommodating to us.For no extra charge they offered a bus service that picked us all up from a centralized location at the beginning of the evening and returned us to that location at the end of the evening. When we arrived, they had an appetizer buffet setup for us in a private area of the establishment. We then ordered a number of different pizzas which were all very good. At the end of the evening they split the total bill for the food across all of our cards to make for easy, equal payments. There was also a pool available to us the whole time.In short, the Catskill Mountains resort is clearly very accommodating to large groups and seems to be a high-quality establishment on the whole. Would definitely recommend it for this kind of outing and I have to assume that it is just as good for small groups as well.

2018-12-14The Highland American Legion Post and the American Legion Ambulance Service hosted a holiday and recognition dinner. The choices were prime rib, chicken, or salmon. All said their choice was delicious. My wife and I had the prime rib and chicken and we were very satisfied. The waitstaff did an excellent job and the food was not cold. Very good overall. The holiday decorations are outstanding.

2017-10-21On a quick trip to the area we searched high and low for hotel and found the Resort. We reviewed all the online reviews and stayed for one night, ( should have stayed longer ). My wife and I travel and truly enjoy different venues from road side motels to upscale resort settings. What a GEM this resort is...from the warm welcome upon our arrival to the check out we totally fell in love with this resort. The setting is amazing, the main hotel is comfy yet very upscale and spotless ! The main dining room is fantastic and furnished with an excellent flair with music & fireplace that sets the right mood. Our room, 215 was indeed a pleasure to relax and again spotless. Just outside our room is the fire pit and swings to again relax as we did with some wine. Our dinner that night was awesome, steak & shrimp, wine and the service was the best we have ever had, and I mean that...the hosts were without the most charming folks we have ever had, we laughed as we were engaged in some wonderful conversation. The food was amazing, served on time and our server was excellent. As we checked out we pledged to return in the Summer to enjoy the pool and outside seating for dinner. WE LOVE this place and Im sure you will too ! Bill & Mindy Fuhrmann Ontario N.Y.

2017-06-26Literally the best weekend ever! From the second we walked in we were offered a beverage. The owner was fantastic! It was my fiancée and my engagement weekend and everyone there did everything possible to make us feel right at home. This place has now become a place that my family and I will go to for years to come. Also, the food was fantastic! We had a large party and no one had any complaints about anything. It was a really wonderful experience!!!

2019-06-01Upscale dining without the price. Ive paid much more for a less quality of food elsewhere. CMR hit it out of the ballpark. For starters, the bread is incredible. Everything was served timely and fresh - hot off the stove! Everything tasted very fresh.Boyfriend ordered the all you can eat wings available on Wednesdays- what an awesome deal. Made just right. I had a clam special - which was incredible. The seafood was incredibly fresh. The service was great, everyone was kind and attentive - seemed genuinely happy to be there. In fact, my boyfriend brought me out to dinner after having a not so great day at work and the atmosphere of this place immediately made me forget my bad day. Unlike chain restaurants, you dont feel like youre being shooed out the door. We were able to sit, relax, enjoy some wine and enjoy each other. The staff was so welcoming, even turned the light on to their new banquet hall so I could take a peek. Had a lovely chat with the general manager, Andrew. We walked around the grounds, which are incredibly well-kept. What an awesome concept this place is and its right around the corner. We will be back!

2016-01-08I stayed here for a nice weekend getaway on New Years Eve. The staff was very accommodating and the rooms were just beautiful! What was even better is we didnt have to drive anywhere for dinner or drinks. We ate in their restaurant which had the most gorgeous fireplace. I had the rib-eye and my husband had the salmon. Then after dinner we went down to their lounge. We danced all night on their beautiful dance floor and enjoyed our drinks while making conversation with a very friendly bartender!
