This place is okay. The lady at the front desk always has an attitude. Unfortunately they are my only option that accepts my insurance. I dont believe that they do a thorough job though. I came here after seeing another dentist for 3 years closer to home. They mentioned and referred me to get a gum graft and frenectomy done. This dentist didnt even notice the issue. Leaving my previous dentist, I was told I had some small cavities starting between my molars about a year ago. I have sensitivity, which is why I decided it was finally time to come to this place. They denied I had any cavities. They called to reschedule my first appointment, though I knew to expect this because they had previously done the same to my husband multiple times. They dont have you see the dentist during your cleaning so that they can bring you back for another appointment and collect on another office visit. They try to sell you everything because your insurance covers it. If you can afford to go elsewhere, do it.

New dentist! Seems to be nice but Im not sure she can do all the work that need to be done. So I have to go to another dentist to do what she cant do there!

Ill try to keep it brief and to the point. After your appointment, the business manager will swipe your credit card and balk at giving you an invoice describing services rendered. Although Cayuga Family Dental is in-network with the Cornell Program for Healthy Living, they prefer to charge you directly rather than bill insurance so that they can squeeze more out of you than the fee negotiated with the insurer (i.e., MetLife). Dont say I didnt warn you. Stay as far away as possible. It is much better to go to an out-of-network provider and take the trouble to file insurance claims yourself than to work with this provider who refuses to bill insurance if they can get more out of you. And yes: they are eager to perform as many procedures on you as youll let them. Shameful.

Really bad/ unethical service!!! I had the worst experience at Cayuga Family Dental. These people take advantage of those who cannot afford to go to a good dentist, like patients on medicaid. This dentist drilled and filled a healthy tooth. I didnt even know that she had done this until later in the evening when I opened my mouth to brush my teeth and discovered all of my premolars had grey fillings! I was shaking at the realization of what had happened. I went in the next day to complain she claimed she could only fill the one with a cavity if the one in front of it was also drilled. What nonsense is this?! ?! I have never heard of such a thing. Beware, if you have medicaid, she will insist that you do all sorts of procedures that you dont need, oh your insurance will pay for it, take advantage of it. Better to find another dentist.

Early on in adulthood, I rarely took care of my teeth properly. Once I was older and mature enough to have gained dental insurance, this place was #1 regarding my insurance. So I went. After my cleaning, I was told I had 5-6 cavities, all of which required minimal drilling/filling, to be done over 5-6 different sessions. I did the first 1-2, they were done without anesthetic, which was uncomfortable but not unbearable. Thats not really the point. But I got this sense in my gut that these procedures were unnecessary, and done for monetary benefit.I didnt get my teeth cleaned (or see a dentist) for about 3 years. I had moved elsewhere, and Id been taking better care of myself in the interim so it was easy to put off. When I finally went to the dentist in my new locale, they did x-rays, deeply cleaned my teeth, and told me I had no cavities.None.So seriously, if you have a common insurance, only go to this place if you legitimately need work on all of your teeth or have Munchausens syndrome and want a bunch of work done. I cant speak to how good they do a root canal, but I can tell you that in every case, theyre after your money.

The worse dentist experience in my 40 plus years. Rude unprofessional receptionist, the dentist discuss prices when you are in the chair thinking you are covered by insurance. The use COVID as an excuse to give mediocre cleaning and service, if you refuse or object to the high priced service offered they are upset and vindictive.

Went there a few months ago as a new patient. They said i needed 4 fillings and 2 crowns. That was weird since my last checkup from previous dentist was like 5 months ago and i was fine. Went to a private practice with a real dentist. I needed a single filling which i had taken care of there. Theyre trying to scare people who are financially not able to afford to go elsewhere and take advantage of them. They also Will Not transfer your documents to another dentist and will take 2 weeks if you request a copy of your dental history to go elsewhere. But hey if you want someone to try to push an infomercial quality teeth restoring cream they got you covered! Youll See if you go there trust me.

I legit had the best experience I have ever had at the dentist. I needed several cavities addressed. I have always been nervous. The dentist did not use numbing agent, and filled several of my cavities with no pain. I am no longer afraid to go to the dentist! Wonderful dentist, wonderful staff.

I dont recommend this practice. Every time we have an appointment they call us to reschedule. The last time I was at the practice my kids were not able to see a dentist. I requested that the next appt. my kids see a dentist in addition to get a cleaning with a hygienist, etc. The person on the phone could not guarantee a time when there would be a dentist there upon a reschedule date. I dont get it- its covid times and this is covered under child health plus. Oh and one more thing- they tried to sell their gimmicky toothpaste that prevents cavities. I am not a fan and do not recommend. Its all just a really weird way to run a business.

1. Getting an itemized bill required following up multiple times over several weeks, but when I did, I learned that they had overcharged me.2. My appointment was for a cleaning, but they let me show up even though the hygienist was out because they wanted to do the dental exam. Had to return for the cleaning.3. Told me I needed three fillings that the dentist I saw just three months ago did not mention and said the one the previous dentist told me to get fixed didnt need anything. I didnt know who to trust, so I followed her advice, but then had to return to have one of the fillings fixed a week or so later.
