Phenomenal service and food AND atmosphere!! So nice to be out and relaxing and our experience here just made things so much better! Our broiled fish frys and Reuben were just perfect and so tasty. One of the best broiled fish dinners we have had !! Hostess was friendly and pleasant and our waitresses was just wonderful. I wish I could remember her name to give her full credit but anyway a wonderful experience all around!!
This was our second time at this restaurant, the first time we had to do takeout, which we really enjoyed. This time we were able to eat in, on a Fri night. We enjoyed a combo platter with ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket. Also enjoyed sweet potato fries, cornbread, hush puppies and a very large baked potato! This was enough for the 2 of us!
This place went downhill. No spinach dip on the menu anymore and the cheesy biscuits tasted like dish water. Service was not great. Found a huge bug (silver fish) in my soda and not even an apology from the server. Everyone’s food was ok but def not worth the price. Disappointed bc we used to love this place!
Horrible experience! Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced!Waitstaff was rude and non attentive. We were a table of 8, who got our own menus since the waitress didn’t come back for at least 20 minutes after placing the silverware on the table.Only time we saw the waitress was when she finally arrived to take our food order and then to bring us the check. We purchased all beverages from the bar, since the server never came to the table to take drink orders. Our food took forever to arrive. The Burgers were extremely overcooked and inedible. The french fries were also overcooked and ice cold. We could not bring this to the servers attention, since the next time we saw her was with she deliver the check to the table.Left hungry and extremely upset! Never again!
This place use to be good food and lots of it for the price... Now you pay the same amount and get about half the food. Its very disappointing. They didnt even give a good amount of fries to make up for it like some places do. They gave us less than a hand full. I dont know if it was the cook they had on that day or what the deal is. However thats enough to make us not want to go back and it was one of the good places to go.
Visit the smokehouse a few times a year. Usually not a problem for the most part. However, tonights meal was horrible! Ordered the BBQ plate for 13.99, I understand the food being smoked but does that mean burned?? Chicken was so dry I could hardly bite into it. Not a good experience tonight at all
We went to the Center Street Smokehouse for dinner and it was fantastic. My husband had the steak and I had the bourbon pork chops. They were both done perfectly. The atmosphere is fun and casual. I loved the old signs and the phone booth. What a fun step back on time. The music was mostly 50s and 60s. We look forward to our next visit.
I have, on a few occasions, sent something back to a restaurant kitchen. Always, in the past, the staff was apologetic and tried to rectify any problem. Not tonight at the Center Street Smokehouse!! I ordered a bowl of she-crab soup with my dinner. I found it very fishy and took only 2 bites before returning it to the waitress, letting her know that I did not like the soup at all. (The rest of the meal was satisfactory, however the service was slow despite the restaurant not being busy.) When the bill came, I noticed the soup was still on the bill. I asked the waitress if she was going to take the cost of the soup off. She said “no, other people ate the soup and they liked it”. She seemed not to care that I was unhappy and in fact seemed a bit aggressive toward me and acted as if it was her her decision to keep the cost of the soup on our bill. As I said, this had never happened to me before. Fine! The cost of the $9 bowl of soup just came out of your tip and I don’t plan on returning to this restaurant again!!!
Red Rock Ponds campers were excited about this food truck coming. 140 sites, average 3 meals per site... and you are a no show. “Truck in shop since Wednesday” you said so you “wont be coming”. You couldn’t have called Thursday to cancel? You wait til an hour before u were to arrive? Well i guess i wont need you on my list of diners to visit while we are here all summer and fall. You are not dependable so why would your food be dependably good? But you need to know, i will not be giving u any business. And, i will not fail to mention your “dependability” to others going to the casino or shopping.Love O’Laceys. Will highly recommend them!!
Ate there last night. 8 adults and 1 child. We waited over an hour to be served our meals. Restaurant was not that busy. Grandsons steak was overcooked TWICE. Daughter had to go to the bar to pick up her drink. My pistachio chicken was a disappointment. No visible or taste of pistachios. Just a thick breading which I took off to eat tasteless chicken. Grilled vegs. another disappointment. The one piece of cauliflower was part what you throw away. Our server was completely inattentive. Anything we asked for took forever. Catsup arrived after fries were cold. Will we be back? I think not.
The portion sizes are a joke but thats the least bothersome thing. Brisket was cold, pulled pork was cold, stake had no flavor and was slopped in grease, fried onion had no onion actually in it. Beer was served warm, grilled cheese for the little one was cold, how one manages that is beyond me. The solution when we brought up the cold food in a polite manner? We can warm it up for you So all in all we waited 45 min in an empty restaurant to get food that we didnt eat. All for the low low price of 107.98$ So you be the judge of this dumpster fire of a Smoke house
Took my mom there for Mothers Day. Smokehouse nachos were pretty good best part of meal in my opinion. Mom got ribs smoke perfectly. My burger on the other hand was way over cooked after I ask for medium so dry it fell apart when I took a bite, and service was really slow apparently a couple of cooks called in.
Only one star because I had to put one to write the review. Food was mediocre at best. Didn’t eat at least two meals on the table due to the condition of them. Even the kids’ chicken tenders couldn’t be finished. I waited twenty minutes for a drink then ended up going to the bar for it. In the middle never had a chance to mention the food we weren’t eating and at the end waited 25 minutes for our checks, then another 15 just to pay. Couldn’t use my groupon because someone else at my table already did, and we had three full bills and tables. I will never go back to use it, so lost money. Terrible establishment over all. I was in the industry for 17 years and never experienced or allowed to have anything close to the happen. Disgraceful.
We went with a small group of 6. Our reservations were at 7:00. We were seated at 7:05. We were never served until 8:37. When the food came, it was either dried out or freezing cold ( all on the same platter). Our server was very friendly and apologetic. Clearly a kitchen issue. Unfortunately, we will NEVER go back!
Yes, there are options for vegetarians at this meat-oriented place. The ambiance really is nothing to sing about; however, when the mac and cheese is done well, you will be most pleased. Recently, the mac and cheese has improved, almost to the level it had been 3 or 4 years back before a couple of sub-par years. It bar itself seems quite popular. The wait staff has always been good.
Waitress Lacie was RUDE! We waited 15 min for her to come to our table to ask what we wanted to drink... after waiting 15 minutes for a table. When we asked her what beers she had on tap she says I dont know Ive only been here a month After finding out tap beers and placing order waitress put drink orders in on computer which must link up to bartenders computer where he instantaneously poured the drinks. We watched them sit there for 15 minutes before she picked them up to bring to us. When we mentioned they were warm she suggested maybe we just try a different beer on tap. When we went to order our meals every question we had about the food she said she doesnt know. She had no clue about anything on the menu or about center Street in general. When we were waiting for our meals we noticed other waiters bringing complementary biscuits to other tables so when we asked if we could have some it again took an additional 15 minutes and she rolled her eyes. Then when our dinners came there was no mild sauce with the wings and we asked her for them she then replied yes I will go down and get some but she continued to take orders from other tables and get drinks for other tables while we waited for our wing sauce. When we asked her again she slammed her menus down and slammed a door in the little waitress station on the second floor. About 10 minutes later she returns with THREE mild sauces and slams them on table and walks away. When we talked to the manager about our experience she offered to take 10 percent off.. but not after she says what do you want me to do about it??... REALLY???? HORRIBLE! Will not be back because besides the horrible service our pulled chicken was cold and dry, and the wings were TINY!!!!!
Was served a plate with a very LARGE chip and after waitress took it, we NEVER got a new one. My glass had several large chips on the rim. She did replace that. Was rude and said she wasnt sure if she could find me a new glass.. .. although she did. Food was just ok. Rolls looked like it was a partial slice of bread and not formed rolls. That was really weird !! Waitress was unprofessional. My 1st time here was VERY disappointing.
Yum! They catered my small wedding party, and the food was so fresh and delicious. Someone did forget to include the bottle of barbecue sauce that I asked for, but the ribs were perfect anyway. The person who took my order was awesome also! Thanks for making me look good in front of my wedding guests!
Center Street catered a party for us this past weekend - what a wonderful job! Everyone involved was especially helpful and kind - the food was delicious and each tray was kept restocked in a timely fashion! The bar service was great!!! Everyone was happy! Would go back in a minute and have indeed started to spread the word to everyone I know! Thanks again Center Street for a perfect ending to a special day! You are the best and we will be back! Anyone considering booking a party at this great place..dont think twice - do it!!!!!!
Burnt steak that was supposed to be rare, coated with charcoal and swimming in grease and butter. Frozen grilled vegetables, still frozen inside. Cold, pasty potatoes. Nice waitress when she was around. Loud dining experience, seated next to the bar. Food took over an hour to arrive at the table on a Thursday evening when there were hardly any customers here. My dates food was ALL cold, while my rare steak was so well done and hot that I could barely chew it. At the end of the evening, the burnt charcoal taste in my mouth was so bad that I started gagging from it. The food was WAY overpriced for the lack of quality. I left half of my steak on the skillet it was served to me on. NEVER AGAIN.
I hate to leave a bad review especially of a place i used to LOVE. Lets start with a BBQ resturant with no ribs or brisket (it didnt sell out they had some bad excuses). Took forever to get our food even though there was only one other table. Ended up ordering one of their awesome burgers which the only place it belonged was in a trash can. Portion sizes have been shrunk yet prices went up so disappointed wish we hadnt driven all that way for that experience probably will be the last time.
Well if there was a zero i would hit it a few times. Went there with friends from out of town to give them a good dinner experence. And well that was a fail. The food was great but the service was really poor, took a long time for one of the four and yes 4 servers to present them self to take a drink order. With only 3 tables that were being served in the whole place, the drinks were not made to order, and on the way out the hostess asked how everything was we replied food was great but the service was not as good. And the so called bouncer/door man proceded to say well you can just leave. How rude is that not good business there. I will never step in or recomend this place to anyone again
There was six of us for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant was not that busy that it should take TWO hours for our meals. People that came in after us were served before us. The Co-Owner was there and never checked on our table and the waitress didnt seem to care either. Food was less than Luke warm but we were hungry. Will NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone in the future.
Horrible food and horrible service. Full rack of ribs tasted burnt, dry, and then reheated. Mac and cheese was dry and bland. Draft beer was skunky tasting. If that wasnt bad enough, it was obvious that the server hated her job and could care less about our meal. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!
We had visited once previously and really enjoyed it so we decided to return for a Mothers Day dinner. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. Our dinner reservations were at 4:00pm and when we arrived we were seated promptly. We were informed at that point that you were out of a number of menu items and low on others. Out of: Burgers, Pork Chops and Pulled Chicken. Low: Steak and Chicken. Considering this is the time that you typically open for dinner, we were shocked with the poor planning on the items. While I understand that you were probably busier than usual for the weekend, I would still expect that you would have stocked up appropriately. My son and I ordered chicken fingers for our entree since our other choices werent available. They were awful and not what you typically would expect for chicken fingers. They were more like chicken nuggets due to the processed chicken and small size. I ordered both a baked potato and corn bread for sides. I only received the baked potato and needed to request the corn bread again. They did bring it out however it was overcooked. Therefore my Mothers Day dinner basically consisted of a Baked Potato, not quite what I was expecting. I didnt even take the chicken fingers home since my son didnt want to eat them again either. His words...they taste like my school lunch. Honestly, I would have had a better chicken fingers meal at a lower price from McDonalds. On top of that, we waited an hour for our food. We werent served dinner until after 5:00pm. On a side note, the table next to us was seated at 5:00pm and the list of items that you were out of had grown.
Childrens menu is hands down the best deal you will find at any restaurant, especially the kids ribs. All portions are huge. Fish fries are the best deal in town. All of their meats are amazing. Our personal favorites are the ribs and pulled pork. Favorite sides are their Caesar salad and loaded tater tots (Yes, get them loaded, its worth it).
The Food is why I return to this place. Ive never had a bad experience with the staff....its not that I have had an amazingly awesome experience either. Its a real BBQ joint.....hence its a little grungy. Bands are usually pretty good and the bar selection is decent. Try the meats and definitely the Crab soup!!!
Im pretty sure McDonalds has higher quality food literally nothing I eat here was edible and it tasted like it was premade. My brother ordered water and a salad; apparently, it is difficult to refill water in a timely manner and the salad arrived half way through the meal so everyone was done eating our cold and poorly prepared food by the time he got his salad. The waitress didnt come back to our table except to give us the bill so all our drinks had been empty the whole time we were eating. Not a good experience I would much rather have gone to Tullys or bourbon and burger.
We went here about 2 months ago and really liked it. We loved the atmosphere and the food was good. This time I got a Groupon coupon. We went again this past Friday night. Ive never had such dry barbecue before. We ordered the pulled pork nachos. I was amazed at how dry the pulled pork was. I thought that perhaps that was just an issue with the appetizer. I ordered pulled pork and ribs for my dinner. Both the pulled pork and ribs were so dry. How can food that is laden in fat be so dry? The pulled pork actually tasted and felt mealy. Then on top of this the service that night was just awful. No one ever came to ask how our meal was, our glasses were empty for long periods of time and it took forever for the waitress to pick up our bill. It was a long ride for this disappointment.
Very disappointed, we have been here a number of times before and it seems like it has gone down hill. The food is not what it used to be either. The part that get me most upset is, I used a Groupon for 50 dollar deal. My receipt at the end of the meal did not reach 50 dollars. I said I would take home Dessert, I first asked for a chocolate cake and to my luck there was no chocolate cake. She came back and offered this brownie with ice cream sundae. We don’t live that far away, but time we got home the brownies were rockhard. So I paid about nine dollars for a scoop of ice cream and hard rock brownies. Then to come find out when looking at my online account they charged me the full amount and did not take off the coupon from Groupon.
Snotty hostess made us stand at the hostess stand for 10 minutes before telling us there was a 20 minute wait. I replied that there were 3 tables finishing up and leaving and about 6 other empty tables and she said yeah well its still going to be 20 minutes I dont expect special treatment but mine and 2 other families did not agree with this and we all left together. Its not the 20 minute wait that got you this review, its the attitude of the people you employ.
I guess I went in with expectations that were too high. The ribs were overcooked (black, flavorless, dry, and you could cut the bone with a table knife), the deviled eggs were bland, and the service was slow. Prices were in line with other smokehouses in the area. One thing this place has that it can lord over the others are their hush puppies - OMG they are amazing! Overall, expect an experience; thats about all I can promise.
Good deal on groupon. Pretty good prime rib bite appetizer. Although we wanted to try another appitizer but they were out of a couple things. I have heard from family members that running out of food is common at this resturant. Delicious little biscuits sereved while waiting for food. Good service.
Food tasted like it was leftovers from last weekend. I had the prime rib, while it was technician prime rib it was cooked like a steak and drowning in aus-ju sauce and my tomato salad was just quartered tomatoes that tasted bad in Italian dressing. My girlfriend had the backyard BBQ, nothing was heated evenly, the BBQ sauce tastes like a cheap ketchup. 🤢. The staff was very unprofessional and we waited for twenty minutes after the waitress dropped the bill and finally asked the bar tender to take care of it. Way over priced. We were in the restaurant for an hour and twenty minutes and there were only two other tables.
Me and my friend went in this evening. We arrived just before 6pm. We sat for 15 minutes before even being approached for drinks. When the waitress walked over she said Any drinks? And are you ready to order? Also, there was a table that arrived 15 minutes after us. These individuals were served first with meals and drinks before we were. We gave our drink order and food order. I asked for water with lemon. She came back with a water without lemon and said I only have 1 with lemon and its for them so I will get you some. 10 minutes later, she was yet to return until it was brought to her attention from my friend. An hour into our wait we got our food, half was cold half was warm. We ate, asked for boxes and the waitress walked by 4 times before returning with boxes. We have eaten here numerous times and it has been beyond busy multiple times and this time was not like the others. It was beyond disappointing at the amount of horrible service that was received tonight. FYI Ive had this waitress in the past and she is horrible every time.
Took off one star because we waited a damn eternity to be seated. Kitchen was overwhelmed and waited a long time for food. When it came, the French onion soup was so good, so amazing, that it had to have been created using sorcery. The chicken fell off the bone into my mouth like water over a falls. Effortless eating. A tad dry but bearable. Go here if you want to have a nice wait, and eat some banging grub.
Just drove here from Holley to have dinner. We walk in and are told the kitchen closed early due to the weather. But of course the bar is still open. It would’ve been nice of them to post on their Facebook page that they were closing early but they didn’t. This is very inconsiderate and we are VERY disappointed.
The employees are super friendly, the music was different than the usual which was a nice change!! The food was great for a reasonable price, I would highly recommend it here for anyone passing through Batavia. They have a second floor too which was different as well.
Grub hit the spot, the only issue was the hostess seemed incapable to keeping up with the arriving patrons. I mean the restaurant is half empty and shes advising just give me 10 minutes. I standing here waiting around likeIm In center field rather then center street, what the F_ck just seat me already. The waited caused my blood sugar to drop to low levels and I fell into the band that was paying a acoustic tribute to John Fogerty. The fall gave a whole new meaning to the song put me in coach.
Went up to the 2nd story bar for the Jackson square concert the bartender was a nightmare. Horrible acted like she was doing us a favor that woman doesnt like her job will not be attending again.even brought my friends from out of the area she was horrible to them too. .
Strike 1 . took 20 minutes to seat. had sign they accepted groupons. next to strike 2 new sign right next to groupon sign they DID NOT accept groupons that night oxymoron.. strike 3 they absolutely refused groupon. strike 4 had smart ass waitress who continued to say strike 5 that the manager had NO time to discuss anything multipal times!!..walked out 5 minutes after no manager along with the couple who stood in front of us waiting also for a table..all along i had made my reservations 10 days prior they made NO mention about not using groupons for that specific night..Will NOT go back..... no care in the world there from anyone!!!!..So I see they ruined multipal peoples Valentines night..by watching people walk out who came in with us..!!!DESERVE NO STARS!!!!!
This is the best spot in Batavia, NY if you are looking for a good atmosphere for drinks, food and live music on the weekend. If you are travelling between Rochester and Buffalo and you are looking for something different that is worth your time, this place is it. The music starts late but once it does you will want to stay. The place has an awesome open space, retro-style that just makes it a fun place to go. The barbecue is better than local alternatives and if you are going carb-free they have some awesome choices. Get the steak salad, drop the croutons and the tomatoes. Best bites! Have a great time.
My wife & I stumbled upon this place while searching for a place to go before hitting Batavia downs. We found this little gem for our 15th wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely wonderful and reasonable We had just recently returned from Myrtle Beach SC and sampled there southern BBQ & She Crab Soup. While here we found this place to be infused with South Carolina cooking.. We had the She Crab soup, a 1lb sirloin steak with garlic sauce, 1 full rack of ribs with a dry rub & BBQ sauce along with your selection of some sides not typical here in the North East. I think this is the best food Ive eaten around here. The décor is Nostalgic and very comfortable. WE WILL BE BACK....
Road trippin from Toronto, Canada to NY back to Darien Lake. Dinner in Batavia, Center Street Smoke House, you guys nailed it! Great service, wicked ribs, corn bread with maple butter, brisket just melts in your mouth. Awesome dinner, great road trip! Definitely need that, thank you to all of you !!

2021-07-14We stopped by on a Saturday to use a meal deal from an app called Local Flavor that was close to expiration. I think it was $20 for $40 worth of food. The restaurant itself has a really cool vibe and an awesome looking bar area. The bartender who waited on us was awesome. He was extremely attentive and made our dinner more enjoyable! My husband and I ordered a 3 meat combo with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The sides were hush puppies and smashed potatoes. My husband ordered a Hayburner beer and a BBQ burger with a side of dirty rice and extra hush puppies to take home. The bill before the discount was a little over $40. Decent price for the amount of food. Before your food arrives, you are given complimentary cheesy biscuits. They were soft and pretty good. Although, I prefer the red-lobster style ones...haha! We used a couple of their house-made BBQ sauces to dip the biscuits in. One was dark, sweet and had a molasses flavor while the other was tangy with more vinegar and a lot of spices. The burger and rice were okay. The burger was not overly flavorful and the roll was kind of gummy and soggy. I wasnt into it unless I drenched it in their homemade BBQ sauce. The rice was pretty good but I prefer Cajun style dirty rice because its more flavorful. Ill give the burger a C.The 3 meat combo was pretty good and Id grade it a B+ because those hush puppies were really good and the ribs were tasty. I do a lot of my own smoking/grilling, so I feel like I can be pretty honest in my review here. The brisket was nice and tender with only a hint of smoke flavor. I prefer a nicer smoke ring but again with enough sauce, it was tasty. The pulled pork was a bit dry until I sauced it up and then it was good. The ribs fell off the bone and were pretty tender. I appreciate the option of ribs with a dry rub, so I can choose to add sauce or not. These were a little on the dry side but I enjoyed the flavor and fat to meat ratio. The potatoes were okay but nothing to get excited about. Id suggest BBQ saucing them up too! The hush puppies were so good, had a major crunch but were soft in the middle.Id maybe go back if I was in Batavia but I dont think Id travel to just go to the restaurant.

2022-02-27We held our sons first birthday party at Center Street. Staff and food were great! Would definitely recommend for a local spot. They were extremely flexible and willing to work with additional vendors.

2019-11-17Very nice atmosphere. Waiter was very attentive. Food was good. She crab soup very tasty with a little kick to it. Shrimp appetizer was ok. Shrimps were a good size and the cocktail sauce was good but the shrimp were still frozen and a little watery.

2017-11-06It was ok. The pulled chicken was dry until I dumped bbq sauce on it. Companion said his brisket was served lukewarm. Mac and cheese and cinnamon apples were microwave reheated or spent too long under a heat lamp. They were still too hot by the time we left. Mac and cheese wasnt super impressive. Cole slaw was good, beans were alright. Drink was decent. Service was slow to start then decent.

2019-01-06Waitress was great, she crab soup was awesome as always.Pulled pork was a little cold, ribs were ok. Cornbread seemed like it was sitting for a while, the butter didnt even melt.Basically none of the meat on both dishes was warm enough.

2022-02-28Excellent food, wide variety of choices. Staff is friendly. Great atmosphere! Hidden gem right here in Batavia!
