Stopped for a glass of wine and ordered a meal to go at the bar. Handed a wine list. I paid $20+ for the wineDecision made ordered an overpriced glass of red.Noticed others were given a happy hour drink menu. I could have had an $8 dollar glass of wine.$60 + dollars for 1 chicken Parm to go and a glass of red while waiting.Plus I tipped the 20%Never ever ever going back.
Our food was AMAZING. Our server, Fae, was great. I have to say that our service and seating was horrible. We had a 9:15 reservation and got seated at 10 — had our entree at 11:10. When we inquired with the hostess about the delay, she said we should “make our reservation earlier.” She did not handle the issue well. Despite our waitress and food being lovely, we left w an hour and a half + wait and sour taste in our mouths. Hostesses need to make the seatings farther apart and, if not, have better time management and handling delays than ‘I do apologize, but there are other tables who haven’t had their entrees yet, either.” Don’t come here expecting good service on part of the management.
The food was pretty good but the service was terrible. I was with a few girlfriends celebrating a life event and we were made to feel less than because we weren’t spending enough money for the waitress to be happy serving us. She was rude and condescending and tried to get us to leave several times. That being said, our bill was over $200 for a 4 top with just drinks and appetizers. Needless to say, I will be spending my money elsewhere this season!
Service was excellent. We usually eat in the dinning room and opted for the bar and happy hour....most small plates on the happy hour menu were fried and served in red sauce.. Was not bad but was looking for a more diverse offering. We will be back but no food at the happy hour....we woukd rather pay full price for the dinner menu which is off the hook.
Love it everytime we go. Wonderful drinks, food, and atmosphere. I love having the different seating options, especially outside or by the fire. The only thing that made me feel awkward was the way our server treated her busboy. She was taking our order and the busboy quietly came over and took something from her, and she says loudly tray, too! (meaning for him to take her serving tray as well) while keeping eye contact with me 😂 and then she snapped her fingers at him later and told him to clean something up. It just made me cringe a little. I hated working with people that treated their bussers like trash, they had them scared for their lives and I never got any help 😆
Food was very good and the waitress was nice. I wish the attitude of the hostess was as good. When we wanted to move to another table, to have more space, they simply refused. (even though there were plenty of empty tables). Not very receptive or accommodating. It ruined out dinner experience. We will not be going back any time soon!
Enjoyed our dinner very much, from the attitude at the front desk (there was none), to the seating on the Terrace which was comfortable and well spaced, to the servers who were knowledgable and adorable and the food which was delicious. We will return and I highly recommend Centro.
The Food was excellent! From the time I walked into the restaurant we were greeted with a smile. The waiter , he deserves a 5 stars- ⭐️, polite and very accommodating. The restaurant Staff works well together they help each other out even if it’s not their table to serve.
We have tried to love this place about half a dozen times now and we keep having the same experience. The food is good, but who is hiring the staff? They really have a lot to learn about customer service. If you sit at the bar, you will be dealing with one very unpleasant little bartender. The one thing that I can say is that she offers a very reliable and consistent experience...poor service and unpleasant attitude. She has guaranteed that we will not go back for another try. We have also had poor service experiences in the dining room. I do not like any restaurant that wants its customers to feel like it is a privilege to eat there. Our experience sitting at the bar for dinner tonight was nothing short of terrible.
After hearing mixed reviews, we werent expecting the experience we had. It was Wonderful! 3 of us had the veal chop. We all loved it. Our appetizers were perfect. Desserts were innovative and delicious. Service was excellent. Hard to believe others had less than stellar meals.
The ambience is great, our server nice (although they didn’t notice empty water glasses for quite awhile ), but the food was only okay and it took over an hour to get our entrees (on a January evening, so not peak summer season). The portions are huge, maybe too much so. I’d rather have quality over quantity. The edge of my husband’s chicken parm was definitely overcooked and burnt. They apologized for taking so long and comp’d us a dessert, but after seeing the bill, we won’t be back. It’s just not worth it. There are better Italian places nearby at far more reasonable prices.
Great atmosphere, waitress was great, appetizers were delicious but $36 for a special that was basically all pasta was ridiculous. I ordered the fra diavolo because the waitress stressed “jumbo shrimp” and scallops were larger than normal. When it came there were 2 shrimp the size you would get from a Chinese shrimp and broccoli and 2 scallops that were the size of quarters. So basically I had a big bowl of pasta for $36. Wish I ordered the chicken parmigiana like the person next to me. I could have made two pounds of shrimp for whole my family of 6 for that much money.
We had high expectations after hearing from so many how great your resteraunt was.. I have to say we were totally disappointed from the minute we were greeted by the seemingly miserable blond older hostess, who looked like she hated her life and her job.. Menu was that of a pizzeria and up charges on a pre fixed menu! Really? ?? The food was sub par. My drink was 17.00 it was the only good thing there besides the decor..Will never go back.
The restaurant is beautiful. The decor warm and inviting. However, we sat in the back room and were blinded by parking lot security lights. unnecessary and in violation of the towns dark sky initiative program. The sixth time Ive eaten there, but I feel the quality of the food has steadily declined. I had an eggplant starter and the eggplant was so overcooked it had no integrity. The octopus, once a favorite; the short end of the arm and overcooked. At the prices, one would expect better prepared food.
Excellent service from Kaye and company. Treated our moms for mothers day to an italian brunch buffet a party of 10. I had chicken scarparelli, calamari salad, pasta, Portobello mushrooms, mozzarella with tomatoes. All were delicious and dessert with pastries. Atmosphere was pleasant and quiet with light music. Highly recommend, nice fireplace too. Price was a little high $45 per person no way can you eat $45 worth of food. I will come back again because the food was very good.
This is probably 1 of the only 1 star reviews I wrote in my life .We’ve been here 10-15 other times with parties of 10 , the Kentucky derby night , 4th of July weekend , and times in the winter when we were the only people in the resturant. My dad loves this place so we made reservations for his birthday here for 5 , the blonde older woman with glasses who seated us was frustrated and unhappy since the second we walked in . She sat us outside in the tent area on a 90 degree day , no fans on. We politely asked if we could be accommodated inside and she said “no there’s nothing we can do “ we had made reservations 14 days prior . There were clearly several empty tables, it was 6pm so was still early . She said no . I unfortunately took my $100 tip back that I handed our waiter The second we walked in which I usually do & walked out . The waiter was actually very familiar with our family since he worked with us several other times & looked upset as well .Very disappointed in centro staff as I watched Facebook movies all week of the owner making spaghetti alla vongole which I was craving .Even the valet kids were confused to see us walking out because they know we are truly weekend regulars .The blonde woman told us “we should have specified we wanted to sit inside in our reservation” meanwhile we never even knew Centro had an outside area .We were all dressed from head to toe in loafers, heels & button ups & dresses #HamptonAttire was very confused why she treated us like this . Maybe she was trying to hold tables for other customers who she felt were more valuable than us ?
One of the most disappointing experiences I have had in years. The food was mediocre and overpriced, the cocktails 90% ice and not much else, and the wait staff were amateurs. Add to this a high noise level, and you have a perfect evening if you want a glitzy crowd and nothing else.
Excellent dinner establishment, wonderful ambience in and outdoors. Backroom and outdoor is very upscale and nice to enjoy dinner on a date or double date. Outdoors is really nice, would have sat out there but the girlfriends are like grandmas and couldnt hang. I got the restaurant week special, started with meatballs, main entree was the selection of mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari, and pasta. Finished with cannolis and coffee. Highly recommend this place. I tried the steak too and it was delicious, tender, and cooked to perfection. Seasoning was just right also. 5 star. Excellent sevice, very attentive waiting staff too.
Another incredible night at Centro. Nina, Sal and the entire staff always make me feel like Family. Food is always on-point, Brooke is an artist behind the bar. Don’t miss the Cavatelli; one of the many delicious dishes (my personal favorite). If you haven’t been here yet, you don’t know what you’re missing.
My wife and I just went here for our anniversary at the suggestion of our daughter who bought us gift certificates last christmas. They refused to honor the gift certificates (which have the smallest print ever) because they were expired. The print was so small in fact, that the restaurant manager who refused to honor them missed the fact that they are still good for another 3 months!Worst restaurant experience ever! Left pissed off and they stole $100 from us.
Three times we have been there always a great meal. Only complaint last Saturday night (packed) waited 1 1/2 hours for main course, BUT the waiter (also head bar tender) saved the day. He served us unbelievable meatballs at NO CHARGE to hold us over.Sal. well be back again this Friday night.
My reservation was honored on and no waiting, wait staff was very attentive, our meal was perfect, my wife and I regularly attend Centro, but tonight we decided to stray away from traditional Italian, my wife had the filet mignon special and I enjoyed the NY strip, both meals prepared perfectly, never disappointed here.
Just got back from Mothers Day brunch...1st time visiting your restaurant. I cant believe you couldnt get a cannoli for dessert at an Italian restaurant on Mothers Day. If they are too expensive, bring a small one for each person who paid $45 for eggs and pasta. I paid $600 for 8 people for brunch. The food you advertised didnt exist i.e., lobster deviled eggs, calamari, and rabbit to name a few. Desserts seemed like they were from the wholesale clubs and a bit stale. Nice waiter but took 15 minutes to be acknowledged at the door. Quite noisy. Wont be rushing back any time soon. The outside room is pretty though.
They did a bait and switch. We planned on having our granddaughters party there. When we went to discuss the menu, we were told they would not honor the choices that we originally were given. The owner Nina talked to us with an attitude, and was completely disrespectful to my husband and I. They did however give us back our $500.00 deposit and told us to go else where.
Worst place to eat in the Hamptons. I went there with my family and it was the worst experience of our lives. We were seated right away but then waited over and hour just to get drinks. After we placed our order we didnt see our dinner for almost another hour. Someone in my party ordered Salmon well done. When the salmon came out raw she sent it back. Once again it came out raw. At this point she was sick of the wait and said she didnt want the fish anymore. Only thing she ended up eating was steamed veggies. The chicken parm was HORRIBLE. It was the most rubbery chicken farm I have ever had. To make matters worse when the restaurant 1st opened I made a reservation. The night before I called to confirm and was told that our reservation was cancelled because someone decided to rent out the whole restaurant. HORRIBLE management that no one called me to let me know that. The manager then said he would treat us to a bottle of Champaign as an apology. HOWEVER he could not even give us real champaign he gave us a Prosecco. I would never in my life recommend this place to anyone. There are so many better places to eat then this dump. Its over priced for the horrible experience you will receive. I wish I was able to give this place NO stars. Dont waste your time here.
Id like to rate Centro higher but based on last nights experience I just cant. I think that the popularity of the restaurant is working against the smooth running of the overall operation. Saturday night, very crowded. Our party of four were seated on time for a 7 PM reservation and served warm Italian bread and their signature plate of olives, Parmesan cheese and olive oil. Then we waited...and waited. Finally had our drink order taken...and waited...and waited. Drinks came and we ordered our meal. And waited...and waited. Appetizers came after a long wait. The baby artichoke special was tasty and nicely presented in a copper pan but was not as advertised. They were not baby artichokes. They were definitely adult. Caesar salad was good. Portion size enough to share. Then we waited...and waited. We were seated 45 minutes before the appetizers came and another 45 minutes befor the mains showed up. Eggplant parm was good, carbonara also good but surprisingly not the typical creamy preparation. Pappardelle Bolognese good...but initially came out with not enough sauce. It returned from the kitchen sufficiently saucy and the true meat stew that Bolognese should be. My gnudi with pomodoro and lamb meatballs was very good. Again, large portions...shareable or take home able. Clearly the kitchen had big problems trying to keep up with demand. We passed on dessert having been seated over two and a half hours, all in. I like a leisurely dinner but the overall wait for service was distracting. The front of the house and wait staff is friendly and tried hard but were overmatched by the kitchen issues. I believe they would benefit from a higher level of training. As an example, runners put plates down out of rotation. Not a big deal but indicative of a possible lapse in training or otherwise hiring inexperienced help. The main dining area is all hard surfaces making conversation difficult in a full house. We will try Centro again...but maybe not for a while in the hope that time and training will smooth out the rough edges. Too many other good options on the East End.
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. STAFF IS ATTENTIVE AND VERY FRIENDLY. IF YOU HAVE NOT GONE FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY YOU ARE MISSING OUT. BESIDES THE FOOD BEING DELICIOUS THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE THE MOST SPECIAL PERSON WITH A BEAUTIFUL PRESENTATION OF CAKE AND CANDLES (AND OF COURSE SINGING). PLAN TO STOP IN SOON!

2022-05-30If I could give 10 stars I would, WE LOVE CENTRO! My family and I dont come here often, but every single time we have it has been an amazing experience. Most recently we went memorial day weekend, Our server was Angela and she was simply amazing. As well there was a girl with curly hair, we never got her name, who was helping out as well and she was also fantastic (she made sure we had plenty of napkins :-p). Such good vibes from them both (Long Island Italian vibes!).They were clearly very busy and you just wouldnt know it by the way service went. The food was astounding, I had the lamb Ragu which went amazingly with their by the glass Super Tuscan, they definitely know their wine.Angela practically read my mothers mind by suggested a Linguini w/ clams and white wine sauce. As well as pinned my drink preference perfectly. She really knows her stuff.Thank you so much to all at Centro, you always make it a fantastic experience and itll forever be on my list of best restaurants in the Hamptons! We live here year round and have eaten in restaurants from Montauk to Westhampton Beach, Centro Trattoria & Bar is by far the best. Youll never leave here thinking you didnt get your moneys worth, which is common in Hampton Restaurants. We cant wait to go back. Have a fantastic summer! THANKYOU!

2020-12-29The food presentation was beautiful & tasted just as greatMy sister and I went out to celebrate my 21st birthday and this was the perfect locationThe entire staff was friendly and checked on us numerous times to ensure we had all we needed, there is a good amount of distance that safely separates guests and added measures in the form of plastic screens that in no way negatively alter the atmosphere of the restaurant. We started with the calamari appetizer which was the best I’ve had on Long Island. It was fresh and delicious! Perfectly seasoned. Then we both ate steak as our main course which came with veggies and a beautiful herb that added a nice garnish but also extra seasoning flavor. Overall the experience was fantastic and I’d love to go back again soon!

2017-12-09Our evening at centro was just wonderful. From the start, we spent about an hour at the bar with Chris our bartender who was great with his service and personality. The Happy hour has half price special on certain drinks and beer (wine $7 and beer $4) along with appetizers like their delicious pizzas. The bar is beautiful as well as the dining room. They also have a room for private parties. The restrooms are well decorated as well, which is important. We sat in the dining room and quickly, out bus service took action offering water, tap or sparkling, a tray of olives, cheese and oil and delicious crusty italian bread. Our waitress Kadie was perfect in every way. Her service, suggestions and personality were outstanding. Its important to have great staff that know how to communicate with personality, and she does. For appetizers, we started with the surprising calamari salad ($16). Surprising because we expected a cold salad but this calamari was beaded and seasoned perfectly and lightly fried with a combination of greens and dressing added. The fritto misti (fried calamari $17) was perfect served with sauce. The grilled octopus (19) was tender and coffee with a delicious chutney. For dinner, I had the bucatini with nonas meatballs (25). At first, this dish looked kind of small, but after I started, you could see that this bowl was loaded up wth the pasta as well as the meatballs. The parmigiana melanzo (eggplant $25) was ginormous with a layer of cheese on top. The Orecchiette ($27) was presented well and was enjoyed by our guests along with the linguini pescatore ($31).For dessert, we had the tira misu ($11), 3 cannolis ($11) and ricotta cheesecake (you guessed it, $11). The cannolis were delicious, shell crunchy with a drizzle of chocolate. The Tira misu was delicious as well. I wasnt too excited about the cheesecake, small, but it was ok. Three cappucini and 1 double esspresso finished us off!!!Overall, this was our first time at Centro and we will definitely be back. In terms of price, it is a bit pricey but it is good to splurge on yourself from time to time. We will be back again! Total bill of fare for 4 was $360 with tip. This did not include our time at the bar.

2021-08-22Gorgeous restaurant with a great staff. The bartenders are experts in their craft. Some of my favorites: chicken parm, salmon, the calamari salad, and the orecchiette with sausage. Yum! The outdoor space is stunning. The food is good enough to make it a weekly spot. Enjoy!
