Went in this urgent care late one night the girl at the front desk was extremely sweet I had issues finding my insurance card and she looked it up for me. The PA was quick and made sure all my needs were met before walking out the door. They called the next day with my results and took the time to explain. Highly recommend this place !
This is an extremely terrible urgent care if you go in for a test!!!! So I was feeling a bit down and I went in and I was scheduled for some test and I was told they will send me my result or call me to discuss my result. They never did. The main reason I went in isn’t resolved!!! And when I try to call them they don’t pick their calls. CityMD is much better!!! Although the wait times are crazy but Atleast they always do a follow up! I definitely do not recommend the chai urgent care of hylan blvd to anyone! Very terrible people and I will be speaking with my health insurance not to pay them!
I have been coming to this urgent care for years..all very nice! PA Jessica and front desk girls Kate and Rian are all such sweeties they make you feel very welcomed. Jess is very very thorough and quick service!! what more can you ask for?? my go to urgent care for everything!
Visit is pretty quick and easy, the doctor was nice as well as the rest of the staff. My only issue is their test results policy. If a patient requires treatment or their test results are positive they don’t inform them to come in URGENTLY. I was unable to get back to the center for several days before I came back and was notified of needing further treatment.I understand policies are in place for a reason but there’s needs to be a better system for informing patients in a timely manner.
Their motto is Urgent Care at its Best but tonights experience would make Urgent Care at its Worst a more accurate motto. Ive only written 1 other negative review ever and I dont like to point out the negatives, but after the deplorable service my sick daughter received tonight, I feel compelled to share our experience so others can avoid such poor quality service. Upon calling to inquire about covid testing, the person who answered the phone was pleasant and professional. The place itself was immaculate and it was clear it was consistently sanitized. However, after walking in and not being greeted by two people in the reception area, things start to go downhill. After standing there a few minutes, I was finally just told to check in there. No hello, how are you or welcome, just a rude point of the finger to the machine for check in. Then, as we waited in the empty waiting room. One of the nurses returned to the reception area, took off her mask, checked herself out in the mirror and then just looked at us. When my daughter was finally called in by the unfriendly nurse more interested in checking out herself than her patients, she didnt even hold the door open for my daughter as she put us in a room the size of a closet. She didnt ask her why she was there, how she was feeling or anything of that compassionate nature. After swabbing her, she was like youll get the results in 10 minutes now go wait outside. She then walked into the waiting area with the paper. No feel better, nothing. I was like doesnt she get to see a doctor??? Another nurse who seemed to be the only nice, professional one there explained after the fact that in order to see a doctor, that would have had to been an additional thing typed into check in. This all should have been explained when I walked in instead of just pointing to a machine. So my sick daughter was only checked for covid and not even seen by a doctor or checked for the flu, strep, etc. I was absolutely shocked and livid that they would treat sick patients, minors none the less, in such a cold hearted manner. Since I didnt think my words would matter to them, I asked for the managers details because as a former law firm manager, I know I would definitely want to be made aware if the staff that represented my firm wasnt behaving as expected. Shame on you Chai Care staff who wear frontline heroes sweatshirts but treat the patients like dirt. I dont even know if the contact info they gave me for the manager is legit but either way, I really hope they get some sensitivity and professionalism training before their lack of care leads to a potential injury or worse.
Well, although yesterday was an unfortunate experience for myself and children due to the wait time, I was contacted by someone who was courteous enough to explain the situation to me and that was amazing! I had never had that happen and this just makes me realize that Chai urgent Care is the best choice for myself and my family. These types of follow ups display the difference between patient centered care and people just showing up for work. Thanks so much Chai!!!
I went in there a little nervous and not knowing what to expect under the circumstances. The staff there were very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I recommend going there instead of waiting on long lines at all the other urgent care facilities on the island. I made an appointment and was taken in a timely manner. I highly recommend Chai Urgent Care.
Came to this urgent care on a Monday morning and I was not disappointed. The girls in the front made sure everyone was taken care of. Even though there was a lot of swabs, Kate, made sure the sick patients were in a room quickly and not lost with swabbing. The PA Natalie came right in after I was triaged and it was one of the most pleasant visits I’ve had. Recommend this urgent care!
I had a very great experience at Chai Urgent care. I walked in with my mother and daughter and was immediately checked in and seen by Christina, who was super nice. We were given Covid tests by Christina and the test was gentle and painless. The provider spent time with us answering all our questions and was very kind. I would definitely recommend Chai Urgent care!
Highly impressed with this urgent care. Seen the provider Jessica and she had one of the best bed side manners I’ve seen in a while. Really took time to listen to my concerns. Received a phone call a few days later from the manager Lj with my results. Very professional staff and I am definitely going to return here!
This is probably one of the best urgent cares on Staten Island. The staff is very kind, and friendly. Especially mentionable my name is the M.A Ashley. She was very caring, and sweet. Ashley explained everything to me, made me feel comfortable and got everything done in a timely manner. Great place with great staff!
Was very impressed with how hardworking everyone is at the this urgent urgent care! Super clean and professional! Great attitudes and awesome problem solving skills.I had booked an appointment so I thought the day of but it turned out I booked it for the next day. They still honored my time and were able to get my husband and I in and out.Thank you !!!Coming again today for Covid test per NY travel guidelines. :)
They are one of the only urgent care facilities to take my insurance. And I must say that I have been going here for a couple of years (even before their named was changed to Chai) and each time I have been here, I have been attended by ultra-courteous, very professional and pretty good diagnosticians and the desk staff is also good. I am pretty discerning and hard to please so I can easily find fault with many things and people/businesses, but so far, this place is very good. I hope they keep up the good work and the entire staff continues to be high quality. The only thing I dont love (and this is minor) is the new hours but I understand why those hours have been adopted and Ill just have to deal.
This location regularly closes early. Employees should be embarrassed to be saying things like ooh, bad timing when arriving an hour before their listed closing time with a non-Emergency room worthy issue. Extremely unprofessional and completely inconsiderate for what their services and purposes are.
I totally recommend this place I have gone here multiple times to do my Covid test the first time I came positive and they were very helpful giving me all the information I needed to take care of myself during my process of being a positive patient of Covid. Then I went back to get retested again and I came out negative and they were also very welcoming. Anyone who may need a test for Covid and you live in Staten Island I totally recommend you to come to this place.
USELESS! All “Urgent care” places are good for one thing. Making you wait three house and never having any clue and or sense of what is wrong with you. If you’re going to spend money and have these people make a killing off of your insurance you are better off waiting in a emergency room at a hospital.
This may be the worst urgent care on the island. Brought my daughter in law here for a Covid-19 test because she was extremely ill. The wait time was well over an hour which is understandable because of the volume of people they must be seeing. But the staff at the front desk were VERY rude and did not seem to know anything or maybe just didn’t want to assist with questions we over heard them making fun of patients and just laughing, sitting talking and watching the phone ring not picking it up. Once we saw the provider it was a fine visit but the office was kind of dirty. Also trying to get her results was IMPOSSIBLE. I’ve called more times then I can count and no one has picked up the phone . Terribly run place , your better off anywhere else .
Dr. Meyer Rosenberg was absolutely great and did an incredible job stitching my (special needs) 7 year olds wound. The staff was so helpful and friendly providing extra support for my difficult child. They fixed him in no time and had him on his way. This place is great! I was so happy I did not have to go to the E.R!! The entire staff was friendly, accommodating and completely compassionate. My child had the stitches put in and removed at Chai Urgent Care and both visits were wonderful. Dr. Rosenberg did such a great job you can barely tell that my son ever had an injury! Awesome experience all the way around.****—6 month update 8/21/2020—****I have taken A recent photo to show the healing that has taken place over the last six months. The scar is barely noticeable and will dwindle to nothing as my son ages.****_ 1 year 5 months update 7/10/2021****Complete healing and not a sign of scaring without the use of any creams or ointments. Skin looks as if it were never damaged or broke . Stitches, what stitches 🤷♀️? THANK YOU DR. MEYER ROSENBERG AND STAFF! We have such gratitude and thankfulness to you ❤️
Honestly thought I had Covid-19, did both rapid and PCR tests. Rapid was negative. I saw the Doctor on staff. He helped me with a sinus infection. I have been suffering for the past 3 weeks. Another Urgent care misdiagnosed me with upper respiratory infection. I am finally not coughing , no headache and free of symptoms. Also PCR came back next day Negative. Super fast. Great Staff, professional and took time to listen! Thank You!!
I went here after falling down and cutting my eyebrow open. The people there were very friendly and professional. I went in as a walk in and was seen immediately. Start to finish I was there about a half hour. I left feeling like I was taken care of completely and was treated like a person. I recommend going here with any minor issues. Thanks guys..
I went in today and the First Lady I had was very nice. She did my nasal swab and I asked for an antibody test. I waited about 40-50 minutes in the room so I went out to inquire how much longer it would be. Then I over heard 2 of the staff speaking negatively about me because I inquired about the wait time. This is very unprofessional and I did not appreciate this at all. If you’re going to speak about patients, make sure it’s quietly or don’t do it at all. Very upset that these are our first responders and this is how they conduct themselves.
Staff was wonderful….the office is beautiful, clean and spotless. I was quickly greeted at the counter upon arrival. The office manager even helped me fill out my paperwork! I was then evaluated and seen by the PA promptly. The PA was very nice, friendly, extremely professional and thorough. I left feeling all my concerns were addressed. Just as I was finish being see by the PA the office manager stopped in to make sure i was feeling ok and that everything went well.I would highly recommend Chai urgent care... all that and the have great office hours!
I’ve been here multiple times and the doctors were pretty good. Front desk is so pleasant and welcoming. Now the person taking x-rays older man white hair and burgundy scrubs was extremely rude. When they did training with manners he must have missed it. A door was closed in my face , with out any warning of I’m going to closed the door or excuse me. I was in mid conversation with my brother. Makes me not want to come here ever again.
I have visited this urgent care numerous times. All of the staff is wonderful. I have to mention one staff member in particular, the medical assistant Nikki. She is excellent! I have had the pleasure of dealing with her each time I have been here and I am so thankful for that! She is comforting, gets everything done quickly, and makes you feel better when your feeling your worst. Excellent facility with exceptional staff! Thank you Nikki!
Come to this clinic all the time with my family. The girls in the front are so sweet. I have to say Kate, Ryan, and Samantha are always friendly and ready to help. The two female PAs are extravagant and have amazing patience with my children. The manager, Lj, always makes sure we are aware of any results by follow up calls. I tell everyone about this clinic and rave about it.
If i can give this place zero stars, i would. I had an appointment and still waited three hours to go in. Then when i finally got in, i saw no one was there so i dont know what the hold up could have been.... If you think thats bad, it gets better. As im waiting in the room to get a covid test, they come in with a paper that had my name on it saying i got a negative result... I DIDNT EVEN TAKE THE TEST! Do yourself a favor and dont come here.
I had been here with my husband once and the service at night was fantastic. Staff was all so friendly and this is why I went here with my 6yr old to get covid tested. It was nice that they took walk ins. The test itself was fine, the person taking the sample was nice. The hard part is calling to find out results. Person answering the phone the first time was rude, didn’t even let me finish a sentence and transferred me somewhere that didn’t respond the mail box was full. I called back and I got transferred to a NJ location. How did I find out? The person said “where did you take the test?” I said “Staten Island”. The person just said “this is The Lakewood location.” And hung up. I just want to know the results.
Thank you to all the Staff of Chai Urgent Care in Staten Island. We have been there many times, most recently for knee x-ray and covid testing. They are all very professional and take the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. They have great hours. I highly recommend them.
I visited Chai with a bad tick bite. The tick was removed and was to be sent to the lab for disease testing. I was seen June 17. The lab received the dead tick on June 25. Eight days later. No results due to time delay. Hopefully, I’m not carrying a bacteria that can cause serious illness.
I love this urgent care, Dr. Natalie was so sweet and kind, super professional !! I was in this urgent care 2 mornings ago and she helped me so much, and I am totally feeling myself again, thanks to her. The process was so fast, I was in and out within 20 minutes thanks to the staff. Dont go by any low rated reviews, created by bogus users. Check them out, I promise you wont be disappointed !!
I went to chai urgent care the other day for a sinus infection and everything went so smoothly. I was in and out in no time. The girls Kaitlyn and Ryann were very friendly and energetic. They got me into a room right away which was very surprising with all the COVID testing thats been going on. The provider took her time with me and was very efficient!! Will be going back here with every issue I have from now on.
They will discourage you from taking the COVID-19 test by telling you walk-ins are not doing the rapid test you may as well schedule an appointment because u will have to wait for the results of the blood test which is 3-5 days....if your looking for a rapid test don’t waist your time they will give you the run around....
Very great place, went in to get a physical for my medical form for school, called my pediatrician and he was booked for the next 4 days, but this urgent care helped me be in and out in 10 minutes for free, unlike other urgent cares that were going to charge $120 for a physical. plus they accept all health insurance which is very good.
The Covid test process was very quick and easy. I had made an appointment along with my family members, & we all got tested quickly. On the other hand, it’s been a week since we’ve been tested and have no results. My daughter didn’t get her portal information, so i went there to inform them to put her in the system. It’s been 4 days now since i went there to tell them, and i still don’t have have her portal login information. I went there today to ask about our results and there was no one available to talk to. Very disappointed because i love this urgent care:/ definitely will not be coming back here to get tested again.
I would not even have given this 1 starI walked in tonite I had 2 bleeds dark surroundings I was seen by the Dr on duty they were on my right hand and left arm same type he said to me “I hsve no clue “ never ever heard a dr say that to a patient save your co pay Staten Islanders this not an urgent care you want to go to
This facility is truly amazing! The staff is very friendly, from reception to the medical care; everything is top notch. They take their time evaluating you and dont rush, all MAs PAs and doctors have great bedside manner. Their communications with pharmacies is quick and easy. Their hours are a huge plus, open until midnight ! I have and continue to recommend their locations to all friends and family. Wouldnt visit another urgent care, would only use Chai.
I want to thank the staff from Chai Urgent Care in Staten Island. You were all so kind and helpful. I walked in the door and took me right away. I didn’t fill out any paperwork which I have no issue with but sometimes it can be overwhelming. A big thank you especially to the doctor that saw me, I wish I could remember her name but I want to thank you for your words of encouragement during a difficult time in my life.
Called 4:20 pm to see if the x-ray machine is working and the answer came a big YESWhen I got there thay made fun of me why i didnt call to findout if its working and told me its not working since 4:00 PM .....Very rude staff including the PA on call very unprofessional
First, when I went in, my child and I were greeted so nice and and very professional. They called my daughter tight away. She made my daughter feel so comfortable and relax. I’ve never seen my daughter so happy being in a doctors office. She did all kind of test to ensure exactly what was wrong with my daughter. I was very happy with the care. Thank you Nathalie for taking good care of my daughter!
I felt the PA knew how to diagnose me by asking the right questions. She knew exactly what I was talking about.BUT1week later: I will never go here again. They DO NOT ANSWER their phones. You can’t leave a message. It rings and rings. They know it too. I called for an entire week abt 7-8x a day to see if my lab results were in. I had to go there to get the results. They handed me the report and I asked what it means, and I was told “you have to wait for a dr like an appointment.” I’ve never seen a lab report so vague and I’ve had hundreds of reports. This what not a standard report for a urinalysis. I said I wasn’t going to wait in the crowded office and could the dr call me. She said ok. Never got a call. The chai urgent cares in bklyn answer their phones. You know how I know? BCZ the dr never sent my prescriptions to the pharmacy. Since I couldn’t get them on the phone, I called bklyn office and they put it through. Imagine?
Took my dad since he had flu like symptoms and it was closer to 10 pm.The check in process is fast and paperless which is fine by me. There were 4 other patients in the waiting area. We were seen within 15 minutes. The staff, doctors and nurses are very good. Did the flu test, vitals. I’m so glad they are open until midnight
AMAZING!!!!!!! Greatest urgent care I have ever visited. I went to urgent care tonight 02/21/2019 because I have not been feeling so well, and I was greeted by a wonderful group of staff members, eager to help me be seen by their attending physician. Everyone was so helpful and caring and I have never felt so welcome in a doctors office before. The two girls at the front desk were so funny and made me laugh even when i wanted to cry from feeling so sick. Thank you a million times over Chai Care!! I will be back soon. Definitely recommending to everyone I know!
The nurse who takes your vitals and info was the nicest person in the world ! She made my daughter feel at home and she did that with other patients as well - forgive me but I think her name was Katrina or Cassandra - I am so sorry but you know who you are ! You have a bright future in your industry !!!The front desk associate was very sweet and helpful as well ! Patient and calm and that is major! The doctor on call also made us feel comfortable! I will definitely go there again!
My experience was pleasant in spite of arriving not feeling very well. The nurse and the PA were pleasant and attentive also the X-Ray technician I did not have to wait so the whole experience was pleasant .I used the Chai Urgent Care several times in the last few years and each time, I came in sick and was helped and had similar experience...I highly reccomend this medical facility for lesser than very serious cases that require Hospital ER intervention...
Extremely unprofessional, front desk sits and speaks about their personal life, relationships etc. Was standing there for 10 minutes without being greeted or even acknowledged. Finally seen a doctor and he googled my symptoms and options for treatment in front of me. The women at the front desk are young and unqualified as well as the practitioners. I was told my results would be given to me 2 weeks after testing and had to call for 2 months before finally receiving them. They had me waiting in my pharmacy for an hour because of a prescription they had told me they sent and never did.Everyone there is rude besides ONE out of many of the nurses. Dont suggest going here, theres many other urgent cares along hylan blvd.
I went there about two weeks ago, the receptionist asked me, “do you have an appointment?” I responded with a “no, I’ve been trying to call but nobody answered the phone.” She then decided to jokingly laugh about it and hide her face then responded with, “yeah, I don’t ever answer the phone.”Seriously?! You’re an urgent care and you think it’s funny when you don’t answer the phone?Recently, My pregnant wife has been trying to call for days to find out if they take a certain insurance. THIS PLACE REFUSES TO ANSWER THE PHONE! Such a disgrace. People are scared during the pandemic & this place could care less to simply answer a few questions.
I took my 4 year old there with a fever of 105 and was told she had 2 strains of the cold virus. After 2 days and no change I took her to a different doctor only to find out that she had Pneumonia. The PA there clearly didn’t know what he was doing and was not at all friendly with kids. I do not recommend this place 👎
The provider diagnosed acute sinusitis and middle ear effusion as severe congestion and prescribed mucinex and saline nasal spray... I told her I need antibiotics for sinusitis... she sent zpack... 1st line tx is bactrim or bactrim ds... I had pharmacy call to request bactrim ds... I was turned down... I shouldnt have to tell the provider how to tx... I am also a provider but was here with my wife... the provider was friendly but should not just shoo away patients... the no argued with the pharmacist and declined the antibiotic...clinical practice guidelines please.
My mom was visiting me and felt very sick and was coughing. She had no insurance and for a considerable small charge she had a visit, xrays (she had pneumonia!) and a follow up with several phone calls from this dr office checking on her. The Dr was so patient , nice and explained everything very well to us. We also didnt have to wait long.
The receptionist was a snot nose and we didnt get to have a copy we didnt get to look at the paper that they wrote on their is no proof that i was even there, another sad thing is that the doctor (doctor myer) was so sweet and the receptionist (Brenda)but the other receptionist was a total snot nose. We were there on July 21 2019, i never knew that the receptionist could be so cruel, rude and snoty to a loyal, caring customer.
Terrible office and staff, we have appointment for COVID , we come on time with our child, but they keep door close and force for people stay outside online even if you have appointments. We have to stay more than one hour!!!!! outside with kids, and they don’t care , rediculus!!! Never come again, who need a test , go to drive true on seaview ave , 10-15 min and you done.Don’t trust in that 5 star , that is not true.
The worst urgent care I have ever been to. They gave me 850mg antibiotics but told me I have no infection?? Why would I take those then?! Then they also gave me align to help promote the good bacteria since the antibiotics would basically be killing it all. Ridiculous. They also misdiagnosed my Dad and gave him pills that he should not be on whatsoever. Knowing full well his history since all info was given to them. This place is out of control if give it zero stars if I could.
I visited Chai Hylan location today with my family. From the time that we were called into the waiting room we were totally impressed. Jessica did not stop working the entire time and was so pleasant. Not only does she take your information, ID, insurance card AND conduct the COVID testing, she does this all while having to jump up constantly to answer the door or the phone. She does it with complete professionalism and a smile. She answers everyones questions with patience . In such stressful times as this is and the daily pressure that Jessica must deal with on a daily basis, she should be commended for her dedication.
This place is pure trash they are not concerned at all about your health just your dollar and btw, there are no Doctors here AT ALL ANY MORE ,they have all left you will only see a PA , they will tell you there is one there but you will never see her when you ask for a Dr. They tell you they dont know when shell be in ,if you ask for someone in charge theyll say LJ but they dont know when she comes either nor do they know her last name ,so no doctors no one in charge oh accept a receptionist that loves to think shes the doctor and will pry into your personal health issues (HIPPA) please this place is pathetic never again !!
Ladies, Thank You, esp MA Ashley who assisted us at the front desk for assisting my dear friend who has been rather ill for a week now. We had no wait in comparison to ER down the street. He was tended to in a very timely and attentive matter and for that I thank your establishment, staff and knowledge. Plus free bandaids and pacifiers with a built in thermometer. Thank you so much again.
Very clean and welcoming environment. Been there twice. Once for COVID-19 testing and once for an ear infection. The Providers there are so nice and welcoming! Particularly on my second visit on Sunday there was a lovely provider with long dark hair and glasses. She was such a doll and so informative and nice overall. As well as the front desk theres a girl with dirty blond hair she is very sweet as well. I really need to get peoples names! I rather go here then the standard urgent care on Hyland BLVD. Overall I was very satisfied with my services. Nice, quick and easy!
Went here due to the extended hours, thinking I would receive quality care and a diagnosis for my bad sore throat, boy was I wrong! They did a rapid strep test on me, somehow came out negative. I was told my tonsils were swollen, and I have a viral sore throat that cannot be cured with antibiotics. I went home in agony. The next day I went to another urgent care center, and my strep test was positive in less than 5 minutes! Was given antibiotics and am feeling much better than days before. Goes to show you how incompetent this place truly is!!! Do not go here!!!
From the moment we pulled up (plenty of parking), our experience at Chai was a great one. We were first greeted by the friendly front desk staff, who appeared to be were very compassionate and considerate of our situation. We then met LJ, who went above and beyond to make our experience pleasant, ensuring we were seen in a timely manner and treated with care.As far as aesthetics, the office waiting area and treatment room was very clean and the operating hours are wonderful.Keep up the great work, LJ and team, you have earned a loyal customer who will be sure to spread the word about Chai Urgent Care!
It was 10:40 pm on a Saturday we was heading to Staten Island hospital as we was driving we spotted this urgent care that said open till midnight I told my husband that we should go there instead of the hospital where they take for ever, my sister had broken a nail and she was bleeding her whole nail was about to come off Is was just hanging we got to the urgent care & was received by some lovely staff and Dr.Feliz was such a great help she numb my sister finger and took it right off took a X-ray to see if her finger was not broken it was so fast we was there the most an hour I was so happy and greatful we found this urgent care I so recommend this place to everyone who needs medical attention we would of been for hours at the hospital !! Thank you so much Dr.Feliz & the staff
In-N-Out for a covid-19 test like a shot. Well run, clean, and all precautions visibly apparent. Front end personnel were perfection.Update April 15,2021: Having gone to a different center the same day, I tested positive for Covid-19 on the rapid test. The rapid at Chai was negative 20 minutes earlier. The PCR test at Chai came back positive as well. Based on how it felt taking the rapid test at the other clinic makes me think Chai personell need to be retrained! Not recommended!
Working with Chai Urgent care has been more than a pleasure. We refer our patients over for varrities of reasons - vaccinations , flu swabs and just any medical necessity they need !! Due to the lack of available appointments from providers. I have never had one complaint from my patients , they have constantly been grateful and relieved after leaving CHAI , for their medical needs. I mostly deal with LauraJean , when sending my patients over, PROFESSIONALISM at its FINEST ... She is welcoming and warm !! Keep up the good work , it doesnt go unnoticed !!! - Dr Helzters Staff xoxo

2022-07-07The entire staff from the start is welcoming , friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. They are kind and helpful to all who enter. Its truly good to know that there are caring people still in this unkind world. I personally witnessed genuine kindness in helping a senior citizen couple who clearly needed some extra help getting in and filling out information, the manager is genuinely caring and compassionate to all who entered during my visit and it shows thru her staff also.I was seen a timely manner, PA was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Place is immaculate. I have been there a couple of times, always a quick, thorough, excellent experience.I highly recommend this Urgent Care when in need.

2022-05-03Staff is very helpful-. Especially the front desk. I wish I got her name to give her the praise she deserves. All I remember was that she had reddish/burgundy hair. I came off the plane so sick from my vacation. I ran to Chai Urgent Care since they were the only one open at 10:30pm. I was seen fairly quickly. Turns out I had sinus infection, throat infection, ear and eye infection. They called in my prescriptions right away to the nearby 24 hour CVS. What impressed me was that one of my medicines was not covered by my insurance and it would cost me $245.00. I found this out at 12:05 am. Chai UC closes at 12:00am. The pharmacist suggested calling but I thought they most definitely would not pick up. Surprisingly, they did!! It was the girl at the front desk I mentioned earlier. Not only did she pick up the phone but she called the pharmacy to see what could be substituted, made sure it was ok with the PA and has it filled within minutes. You don’t see that type of diligence too much anymore so I’m very thankful for that.

2022-07-06Absolutely abysmal experience. Rude people, took 3 hours to get evaluated. Told to wait in the car, it would be an hour. An hour later I called to say I’m still waiting and was told that they have a lot of laceration walk-ins and had no idea how long the wait will be. Meanwhile I was having shortness of breath and cough and congestion. No same dayx-ray results and then when I called to get results they said they can’t give it over the phone. They really don’t even seem to care at all. I would not recommend this urgent care at all. Go to a Northwell site or any other site but this one

2022-03-31Although they have great hours - this place has terrible bedside manner. Specifically PA, Jessica. I was put through multiple meds/discomfort all to have to STILL come to the emergency room, and pay a separate charge. I will never come to this place AGAIN!!!

2022-02-12I had went to Chai urgent care on Hylan BLVD in Staten Island, New York on 2/9/2022 due to severe ankle pain.Upon limping into the office, I was hoping to be offered a set of crutches to use due to the fact it was almost impossible to bear weight on in the right leg due to the severe ankle pain; nothing was offered. The staff just looked at me limping in pain which was very frustrating to say the least. When I was told a room was available I had limped all the way to the room and still nothing was offered. The entire time from start to finish nothing was offered to keep weight off of the leg I had an issue with. You would think they would have DME at the urgent care which could be used by patients in the event they had an injury to keep weight off the affected extremity etc. When I got to the room. I provided the medical assistant who took my vitals with a thorough history of my health. I figured she would pass this information along to the Provider, however, I assume she didn’t, because when the Physicians Assistant came in the room there seemed to be be no knowledge of my situation based off of questions asked etc. Most providers provide a recap of the information told by the patient when walking in. I felt that this was also very unprofessional. After the physicians assistant asked some questions about my health history (family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and if something happened which caused the injury to my leg(which I declined; I had stated I started getting pain while walking through an airport terminal about a month ago, didn’t do anything to injure my leg.) I had to explain my history again completely which was frustrating and affirmed my concern of the medical assistant not providing report to the physicians assistant. The PA had ordered X-rays of the right ankle and I had also requested an X-ray of the right wrist due to a previous injury.Although the staff was friendly and the environment was clean, I was hoping for a lot more from the Physician’s Assistant who evaluated me at Chai Urgent Care. Upon wrapping my leg with the ace bandage and sending me on my way, when palpating the area she should have noticed the redness, inflammation, and hot/warm feeling of the ankle. Also, you would think after the Physicians Assistant saw no injury to the leg on the X-RAY imaging, and only inflammation more questions and all around thoroughness would have probably led to the right diagnosis and treatment. I felt that I did more waiting in the room than anything else and the treatment was sub-par at best. The X-rays of the ankle ordered indicated possible osteocondritis, and stated I should follow up with an MRI. The PA stated they would recommend me an orthopedist, however, the paperwork I received had no Orthopedist referral on it which was a bit frustrating after coming home and finding out what was promised to me (and I asked multiple times) wasn’t there on the paperwork. After getting home later that day and experiencing no relief from the Tylenol Extra Strength the Physicians Assistant recommended, I found my ankle to be extremely swollen, and even more warmer to touch; mind you, I couldn’t even walk at this point. I was in bed for 2 days, unable to walk, with excruciating pain which only became worse during the afternoon and even worse at night time; I couldn’t sleep for 2 days. This was the worst pain I experienced in my entire life.At this point, after doing some of my own research, and discussing with my family, I had come to the conclusion I had Gout, and took 40mg of Prednisone which relieved my symptoms and has helped immensely with pain relief.Very underwhelming experience at Chai Urgent care. Was expecting proper treatment, and some sort of resolution; not misdiagnosis. I don’t think I will return here again.
