My daughter was switched to this location a few months ago and she is so happy to be here. She loves all three of her new masters. She enjoys the time spent at this dojang every time she goes. She is confident and happy with her own progress and it makes me happy to hear. The communication between the masters and myself is great and they are so nice and friendly!
We love Champions South Slope! My daughter has been taking classes with them for 7 months and I’m thrilled with her progress. I don’t know much about martial arts personally but she seems to be learning well—she’s gotten a lot stronger and her form looks really good to me. Plus I love how all the masters are kind and encouraging and emphasize hard work and a good attitude. Since the pandemic started they have been running Zoom classes and have even had 2 belt tests online. They also send out inspirational emails and texts and even hand-delivered my daughter’s new belts and trophies after her tests. I’m really appreciative of how they’ve kept a feeling of community going during this difficult time, and enabled my daughter to stay in good shape and even make progress toward her goal of a black belt.
Master Song and his team has been a great addition to the neighborhood since their arrival a few years ago but especially so this year. They were one of the first programs to adapt to online sessions. Their program has kept my child engaged more so than the many other online programs we’ve tried. They’ve continued to come up with creative and safe ways for students to continue attending, such as outdoor classes in prospect park. Their safety practices are above the current guidelines in my opinion. Champions Martial Arts South Slope has been a true blessing for my child’s mental and physical health during these times.
Our daughter has been going here for almost three years and we could not be bigger fans! The Masters are all so kind, encouraging and knowledgeable - and they are all just exceptional with kids. Our daughter has grown in skill and confidence, and is so proud of her growth and achievement!
***UPDATE***It’s been over a year since we’ve been going to Champions and we still LOVE it. We just celebrated our son’s birthday here and the party was amazing. From set-up all the way till the end, all of the Masters were so attentive, diligent, and made it so easy. Every single detail was taken care of and they took great care to make all the kids have a great time. It was such a great party and everyone had such a great time. Thank you so much!Ive been looking for a place for my 3 year old, very active son to take a class. There are so few options for that age in Park Slope, so I decided to take him for a trial class with some friends of his. After the first class we knew we were all definitely going to sign up. Master Song is amazing with the kids and my son has such a great time. He looks forward to going each time and is very excited about his uniform. Master Song not only teaches them martial arts, but he teaches them discipline and to have a good attitude, and a little Korean too. Since that first trial class all of my sons friends have signed up too. We love Champions!
This is a truly amazing place to send your kids. Master Song and his team go out of their way to make it fun and special, but also teach the students about respect and being kind to one another. I have a 7 and a 5 year old enrolled, and I now catch them randomly doing their moves in the house. Learning Taekwondo has also helped them develop their self confidence.Another important aspect for us was safety during covid, and we are delighted to see how much care they take to make sure the environment is safe for all.
Champions Tae Kwon Do of Park Slope has been a phenomenal experience for our family. Seriously, the professionalism, instruction, organization, communication, friendliness of the Instructors could not be better. It’s a wonderfully upbeat, welcoming and productive environment for the kids to learn self-defense, anti-bullying, and personal growth, all while getting exercise!!! Highly recommend this great TKD school.
Champions Martial Arts, led by Master Song, is incredible and they are amazingly hard-working. Our children have been going here for years, since they opened and the instructors tailor how they speak with students of all ages and levels to engage them with the right activities, keep them focused, and help them progress. Our children have learned so much from them. They are nice, professional, the students and parents love them. We all trust that they have our childrens safety and best interests in mind. Theyve helped many children become proud of their accomplishments and, given the rules-focus of a discipline like TKD, if needed, they will help partner with you as you discuss behavioral issues with your child.
My daughter recently started attending Taekwondo classes at Champions Martial Arts South Park Slope. I am very pleased with the attention and support my daughter is receiving this far. Master Song along with the other Masters are not only effective instructors but are also very kind, patient and supportive, self confidence and expose students to the Korean language. I would recommend this Martial Arts school.
Champion Martial Arts has been an amazing addition to our two sons after-school activities. It has motivated them both to learn a new physical art in the studio and perform their best (or sort of) outside the studio. The Masters are kind, patient and skilled, know them each by name and rank, and overall are wonderful guides and teachers. I would recommend it to anyone looking to engage in a longer-term physical and mental fitness engagement.
My 9-year old has been going to Champion Martial Arts in South Slope for the past 4 months. In those months, he has become significantly more active and physically fit. We also noticed that he’s more mentally engaged at school and at home. Masters Song, Yoon and Yoo and the other instructors are dedicated to not only teaching taekwondo but also instilling respect and discipline. Part of the curriculum are ensuring that the students do household chores and perform well in school. Couldn’t be happier with the decision to enroll our son at Champion TKD!
My kids have been going to Champions Martial Arts for a year now and to this day, these classes here are a highlight of their week. This is all attributed to Masters Song, Yoo and Yoons amazing instruction. They create such a fun and engaging environment to learn/practice Tae Kwon Do that can even garner the full attention and discipline of a large group of 3 year olds. Here, students not only learn the basic techniques of this form of martial arts and build their skills on it, but their curriculum also promote/encourage self-confidence & respect.Champions Martial Arts is not only a great place for your child to learn martial arts but they also serve the community in return as well - from their various food/clothing drives, crowd-sourcing funds to serve essential workers at the start of the pandemic to even offering free online classes to kids stuck at home back when all our playgrounds were closed. In summary, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place.
I had been training with Master Song for several years when he was in Virginia. Master Song is AMAZING as what he does for the kids and all the students who participate. Master Song has changed me for the better. With the extra help from Master Song, I was able to focus on being the better person that I aspired to be through the excellent values and lessons taught.I can honestly say that I wouldnt be the same without Master Song. I have been his Martial Arts School in Park Slope several times to say hi to Master Song. What I see in his school is that Kind Instructors, easy-to-learn self defense classes for all ages, and an infinite amount of support, this is the PERFECT place for anyone. I would recommend this school to any and EVERYONE interested in learning self defense, inspired to become a better person, those who aspire to help others, and those who wish to teach their children (or friends and family) what it means to be a true martial artist.
Both of my sons love CMA South Park Slope - and my husband and I do too! Its a sport that also shows them discipline in a fun and engaging way. The Masters are fantastic. In these challenging times, our taekwondo zoom classes are one of the few elements of stability and continuity for our kids. Thanks CMA!
My four year old son started at Champions in January. It’s been a fantastic program, the Masters are wonderful with kids and attentive to each child’s learning needs. My son’s korean language skills have improved and his attention and respect. He enjoys the challenge and we enjoy watching him learn. Highly recommend.
We love Champions Martial Arts! Our daughter has been studying Taekwondo there for a few months and she absolutely loves it. All of the teachers are so kind and great with kids. They also teach confidence, focus and good habits as part of class - being kind to each other, picking up after yourself, LISTENING TO YOUR PARENTS (who doesnt love that?) and give stickers for good behavior at home as well as class. Our daughter is always super engaged in class. They also have date nights occasionally where you can drop your kids off for a few hours and they have movies and pizza or a bouncy house or baking cookies. We are big fans!
We love Ultimate Taekwondo in Park Slpoe. Our young son attends twice a week. The classes are well organized and fun. Master Song and his staff are excellent instructors. And my son has grown more confident and disciplined in all aspects of his life. The other families and students of taekwondo are great to be around. This is a very positive and vital part of our community. Were lucky to have it!
Master Song is wonderful. We have known him for many years. His passion for what he does is amazing. He is very dedicated and great with the children. He offers a very positive influence in their lives and helps their confidence level immensely. Master Song will be so very missed here but know he will go on inspiring others elsewhere. We are glad to have known him and worked with him for so many years.
We absolutely love this Tae Kwon Do school! The instructors (Masters) are INCREDIBLE. They teach discipline and respect to the kids while the kids have an AMAZING fun time and get lots of exercise. I’m raving about the place, but it’s really that good. The vibe is SO positive and the instructors impress me every time. The martial arts focus is solely on self-defense and always ANTI-bullying. They offer a trial period before you have to commit to anything. Highly recommended.
Champions Martial Arts is fantastic! My 8 year old son (at the time of this review) loves attending class. He continues to be motivated to not only get better as a taekwondo student, but as a person who respects himself and others, as well. Masters Song, Yoon and Beom are great role models. Best of all, they keep the classes upbeat and fun. Thank you!
My daughter attended a birthday party at Champions and was immediately hooked! She’s been taking lessons for about 5months now and just loves it. She’s getting stronger and her confidence is growing. The Masters are incredibly kind and enthusiastic- it is such a warm and welcoming place.
I am so glad that my son has a chance to still workout and learn Taekwondo during this time. Champions Martial Arts not only keeps him engaged and motivated but he has so much FUN. I really appreciate what Master Song and his team did to find a alternate means of meeting through Zoom. Seeing Master Song, Master Beon, Master Yoou, Master Yoo, Master Wi each and every day and breaking down the steps in small groups is helping improve my sons core. I am really happy and excited and cant wait for his next belt test to see how he has improved. Thank you so much Champions Martial Arts, for your time and dedication. Aidan is absolutely turning into a Champ!
This place is easily accessible and has great people. My son enjoys learning TKD skills and Korean language so much. He became to count numbers to 40 and respectful greetings in Korean. Master Song encourages students to challenge their physical abilities and mental strength. I really recommend this place to other families in neighborhood.
Champions Martial Arts South Slope has transformed my daughter’s life! I have recommended this place to several of my close friends and colleagues. Thank you Master Song, Master Yoon and Master Beom. You guys are truly awesome! You are all the epitome of excellent taekwondo masters. You teach good values that contribute to well-rounded children and individuals. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary. Continue to keep up the good work!
My son is 3 years old and he lives Master Song and his team. They are very kind and very welcoming. I love seeing how my son is gaining more and more confidence on a werkly basis. After a trial we signed up for a long term membership. Highly recommended in the Slope!!!
Champions Martial Arts Tea Kwondo on 7th ave is a warm family oriented place. They not only teaches but they make sure the child is doing well in school as well as home. The kids learn the language and respect for each other. The Masters are fantastic teachers. My grandchild Jade is always excited to go to her classes shes always practicing her new moves.
I’ve known Master Song for a long time and had the privilege of working with him and training with him for quite a few years. He is kind, compassionate and he cares deeply about the people he is teaching. He is an excellent Tae Kwon Do Master, I think anyone could learn a lot from him. Happy to see he’s continuing his journey :)
Beckett (8 years old) Taekwondo is a life time experience for all ages of kids and gronups. Taekwondo gives anyone the support they need at that time. Taekwondo also does other stuff like birthdays, camp including field trips to the library, bowling, play spaces. In taekwondo you increase fitness strengths and self defense.Keri (mom) I cannot say enough good things about Master Song and Champion Martial Arts. All of the masters are wonderful. They treat each child as an individual and truly understand each of their strengths and weaknesses. They have taught my children patience and perseverance in an extremely fun and supportive environment.
My 8-year-old son has been training here 2 months. Spectacular dojo. He loves it. Weve tried a couple if other styles/dojos previously and they just didnt click for him. This place does. Very well-organized and structured, the instructors are terrific with kids and have incredible energy. I dont know anything about the adult offerings but if youre looking for a martial arts school for your child, this is the spot.
Master Song and all the instructors are marvelous. I am very pleased with the quality of instruction and the care and thoughtfulness they extend to each student. The taekwando program is well rounded and fun. Not only are the students taught to develop their taekwando practice but also respect for themselves and others.
Master Song is the best! If you are looking for a great martial arts school this is the place. Over the years of taking tae kwon do classes both for myself and for my boys, Ive come to realize how much of a difference having the right teacher/master makes to the enjoyment and effectiveness of the class. Master Song is professional, fun, knows how to connect with people of all ages, teaches discipline and respect, and builds self confidence along with martial arts skills.
I wanted to find a space where my son, Aidan could learn discipline and self control. I am extremely pleased with Champions Martial Arts and Master Song and his team. They have made Aidan feel welcome and I love the fact that he is learning Korean. I cant wait for his first belt...Aidan said!
Amazing place with a great atmosphere, each instructor gives each student great amount of attention with proper training in TaeKwonDo, the location is every clean and open with AC provided, they have many extra events aside from regular classes which help engage the kids and also provides them with a fun time. Highly recommend!!

Champions Martial Arts South Park Slope is unlike any other Taekwondo (Martial Arts) place you see in virtually every plaza. Champions Martial Arts South Park Slope stands out because of its well structured programs, flexible class schedules for busy parents, friendly and attentive staff, and most importantly, Master Song has full of knowledge about Tae Kwon and kindness, patience with the kids.I would strongly recommend Champions Martial Arts South Park Slope for everyone.
An extremely positive place. With an incredible amount of enthusiasm and energy which we find wonderful for our child. They do not waste a single second and are extremely diligent in following all Covid precautions. All in all an extremely positive experience for us and our family
We love Champions Martial Arts South Slope! The masters are incredible: inspiring, encouraging, and patient. They teach so much more than tae kwon do. They teach confidence, determination, perseverance, respect, and kindness to yourself and others. My daughter loves it!

2021-06-29I cannot say enough good things about CMA! My son has never been interested in organized sports or physical activities, but he LOVES Taekwondo and CMA. He is flourishing there thanks to the patience, encouragement, and expertise of the instructors. Master Song, Master Yoon, and Master Yoo are the BEST. They not only teach the physical skills, but also focus, discipline, and respect. They do it so gently too. It’s really something to see. We simply love this place!!!

2020-09-08This is a wonderful place for children to learn tae kwon do! My son began in the winter, and has progressed and learned so much. Not only is he learning martial arts, but also learning some korean language, respect/manners, and lots of self confidence. I am so sad we’re not in the area anymore (we moved out of state) and cannot attend anymore, because the classes were such a highlight for my son. All of the teachers are very enthusiastic and seem to actually enjoy teaching little kids (!), and they are really good at gently redirecting and such as needed (my son def. gets distracted or mischievous, but it never fazed them). I highly recommend this for any kid interested in learning martial arts or Asian culture or something new!

2019-07-19We love Champions Martial Arts of Park Slope. The masters are fantastic with the kids and they not only teach the art of taekwondo but they also teach values and lessons that we apply at home. Our 4 year old loves it more and more each day and always asks to go to class.

2022-02-24Without going into specifics just wanted to point out the following: Outside seating in the rain and the cold…such disrespect! Seems nice at first but then you soon discover that it is all about the money, with these masters. No genuine care and concern for all kids and all families. Truly a disappointment!

2021-05-10The instructors here are fantastic and the nicest people you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting. My son started with no background and is now a black belt. He has not only gained skill but self confidence , he’s in great shape and has lots of friends at the dojang as well. All through the pandemic whether it was virtual or in the park they kept things going and always put the kids first. That’s the level of dedication they have and the type of community they have created.. Joining Champions South Park Slope was truly life changing for him.

2019-07-15This school is great and a perfect fit for this neighborhood. The teachers are young, talented, and very enthusiastic and patient with their students. My son has been with this school for over a year and I can see so much improvements in his self confidence, discipline, and overall physical fitness. I like that the teachers really work with the students, use positive reinforcement, and are very caring. We cannot say enough good things about the school. We also love their monthly “parents’ night out” and summer camp. The main teacher, Master Song, is very accessible via text messages or email.

2020-11-26Our 4-year old son has been attending this studio since he was 3 years old, and it has been such a wonderful experience to watch him grow in so many ways over the last year. The caring, kind, attentive masters have supported him to increase his confidence, focus, and respect in all areas of his life! Our son talks about his beloved Master Song ALL the time, and loves showing us his newly-learned Taekwondo skills at home :-). And I’ve never seen him more proud of himself then at his first belt test when he broke a board with his foot, earned a trophy, and came home with his first belt! It was such a lesson for him in understanding that practice and hard work leads to growth and a new skills. We love this studio and its masters so much and are so grateful for their influence in our son’s life!

2019-09-25We are happy to have found such caring, dedicated and professional instructors. They are all very attentive to the children and are authentically interested in their progress. If we were to move further away within this area, we would come back specifically to this location for the classes---that is how impressed we are with the teachers! My young son was reluctant at first to try a martial arts class, but with their patience and encouragement, he is now saying he wants to work all the way to a black belt and is even encouraging me to try the lessons in the adult classes. Great job---these guys are always smiling and bring much joy to the neighborhood with their teaching! Truly awesome as the sign on the door says :-)
